This is the Rich Eisen Show.

The Rich Eisen Show. And Alvin Kamara scores the touchdown. Touchdown Tampa Bay.

Baker Bayfield. Touchdown! A 97-yard touchdown from Sam Darnall. Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles.

These are kind of the games you look back on late in the season and you're thankful that you won these. Today's guest, NFL Network analyst, Daniel Jeremiah. NFL Network insider, Tom Pelissero. And now, it's Rich Eisen.

That's right. Oh my goodness gracious. The greatest narrative-generating machine known to man, the National Football League, just held a second Sunday of full action. And my gosh, there's not enough time to talk about it, but we've got three hours right here on the Roku Sports Channel. This Rich Eisen Show terrestrial radio affiliate, damn straight smart enough to have us.

Sirius XM Odyssey and TuneIn, our podcast listeners, we say hello. Overreaction Monday, we like to keep it somewhere between 35 and 45 minutes. We're going to have our work cut out for us when Chris Brockman and I have a conversation for the week two overreaction Monday after class. Today, all three hours with you.

844-204 Rich, number to dial. We know there's got to be somebody out there who wants to get something off his or her chest. We're ready to roll for you. We're here. RES Consulting with open arms for you to see who wants to talk about anything in the National Football League.

College football, Arch Manning had a huge game for Texas football. Lots to talk about right there as well. And as we mentioned, we've got more than enough time, at least we think, for three hours to handle all of it. Daniel Jeremiah and Tom Pellicero, my colleagues from the NFL Media Group, will be joining me and us on this program to make heads or tails of it. Daniel is still hanging out in Charlotte, North Carolina, because the Chargers, going 2-0 right now, are taking on the equally 2-0 Steelers next week in Pittsburgh for the Steelers home opener. So they're hanging out on the East Coast all week long.

So DJ will be zooming in top of hour number two. Tom Pellicero top of hour number three with all the injury news and all the conversation coming off of week number two. Again, 844-204 Rich, number to dial. Good to see you over there, Chris Brockman. How are you? I'm great. I think the Saints just scored again.

They did. DJ Mikey Diaz, indeed. Nuts is sitting right here. Good to see you, Mike, too, Phil. That is, in fact, the psyche.

That is, in fact, the setup to say hello to you, T.J. Jefferson, Candace Lidd over there. Can I just tell you guys something? Alvin Kamara scored four touchdowns against the Cowboys yesterday, right? Yes, he did. Plus, I played against him in both of my fantasy leagues.

So essentially, Alvin Kamara scored 12 touchdowns against him yesterday. So there's that. We had no idea about the multiplying effect.

Mike, can I get that one more time, please? We had no idea. How about the Cowboys?

We had no idea, by the way. That could be a new fantasy team name, the Kamara Multiplier. 12 touchdowns, essentially.

It's your damn act together. Well, you know what we're going to start with? We're going to start with the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs coming into the season. We saw their first two games at Arrowhead. Neither of them were gimmes since we all thought that the Ravens and the Bengals had a great chance to win their division, and they may still do that, but right now they're a combined 0-4.

Go figure that. And the Chiefs get a win at home against the Ravens in week one due to the fact that Isaiah White's shoes likely doesn't wear a size 13. And then on Sunday, week two, the Chiefs get through it, despite losing what we believe Isaiah Pacheco for quite some time with a broken fibula. And we'll talk about that with Tom Pelosaro later on in hour number three. And arguably the worst stat line of Patrick Mahomes' career, 151 yards, which is the fewest number of yards in his professional playing career in a game in which he's played start to finish.

151 yards, and he had two interceptions. And he was also facing a fourth and forever with a chance to have to fling it and get some help from either a teammate or the football gods. And I know a lot of people out there think, hold on, and a lot of people out there think that the refs bail the Chiefs out. I know there's a ton of people out there.

More than the auto industry, am I right? I will say this. I will say this. That was pass interference on Dijon Anthony.

Dijon Anthony. That was him. That was pass interference on the Bengals, man. Also not catchable. That was pass interference on the Cincinnati Bengals.

You might see it as uncatchable. I've seen the play over and over and over and over again. And my two senses, that's pass interference. And the Chiefs, by the way, everybody thinks the refs bail them out. The Chiefs had Harrison Butler set up for a field goal, and then that got taken away by a penalty. Illegal hands to the face by the guy who caught a touchdown off the offensive line earlier in the game. And so uncatchable, I don't know, ball kind of, you know, deflected off of somebody, so it was catchable by somebody. Didn't fly directly over everybody's head. That's pass interference.

Anthony arrived way too soon. And I wish he'd just, for Bengals fans sake, just jumped straight up in the air. Because I'll tell you what, guys, and this is why I think the Bengals fans have at least something to hang their hat on. They're used to starting 0-2. It's the third straight year they've started 0-2.

And this team went into arrowhead yesterday, and for a while it looked like burrowhead again. There's a reason why nobody has beaten Patrick Mahomes four separate times in their career. Yet, by the way, had Burrow and the Bengals emerged victorious yesterday, Burrow would have been the first to get to a fourth win in a career against Patrick Mahomes. So the Chiefs have their work cut out for them.

The three-peat chances get more difficult if they're going into a game with a rookie at running back right now. We love, we love the legend of Carson Steele. And we do, you know, Samajee Pirine is there. And we imagine Clyde Edwards-Iler is going to come, come back at some point. But Pacheco, who has been just dynamite, we're not going to see him for a while.

That's an issue. And we're not seeing Hollywood Brown for a while. But the Chiefs know how to finish.

They have an aura about them. And I am 100 percent coming out of that game thinking the three-peat chances are still alive. It's going to be difficult if they don't have Pacheco for the rest of the year. We'll keep an eye on that. And that's why Tom Pelissero is joining us in hour number three.

Lots of questions about it. And next up for the Chiefs is a visit to Atlanta on a Sunday night. We'll see how the Falcons look tonight before we just chalk that up as a W for the now 2-0 defending world champs, who have a win in consecutive weeks to start the season, just like they had wins in the last two Super Bowls. And that's for the Bengals. I'm wondering if Jamar Chase is just playing angry because he's just an angry guy over his contract situation. He thought he deserved a flag for a hip drop tackle or something like that. And as we saw last night with Joe Mixon clearly getting hip drop tackled. I don't think you're going to see too many flags for it this year. You're going to hear about a lot of fines.

You're going to hear about a lot of FedEx letters being sent to defenders who take players down. And I don't blame Jamar Chase for getting upset because hip drop tackles can hurt you. And Joe Mixon is going for an MRI today. And last year Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins' season changed when he got hip drop tackled in that Monday night loss to the Titans.

But even the head ref said that Jamar had crossed the line. Next up for the Cincinnati Bengals is a Monday night football game against the Washington commanders. Week three ends with two Monday night football games. Oh, really?

Yes. I love the Monday night football game. I know. And Jacksonville is going to be at Buffalo in the other one. That's a double dip of a Monday nighter next Monday. But the Washington commanders going into Cincinnati, you can't, I guess, chalk it up either, because they look point challenged despite their rookie quarterback running all over the place. And the reason why the Bengals are 0-2 is because they lost the Patriots at home, who, by the way, almost were 2-0.

So close. You didn't get your 2-0, you didn't get the Red Sox winning the rest of the weekend either. And the Jets won, so everything I got didn't happen.

Okay. But that's my takeaway. Definitely pass interference, in my opinion. And the Chiefs know how to close. That's what happens when you're a two-time defending champ.

And they navigated two very difficult opponents coming into Arrowhead successfully. And the Bengals came awful close. I'm not worried about them. Headline for Cincinnati, I am not worried about your team. One thing I am concerned about is I think they do miss Joe Mixon. I don't know, I'm waiting to see when Chase Brown is just going to get the ball a lot. Yeah, run game isn't blowing my socks off. But that dude's got some explosiveness. He's got some Tony Pollard in him.

A couple years ago, Dallas Cowboy Tony Pollard and Zach Moss. I'm wondering if Bengals fans are watching Mixon run for the Texans right now, as the Texans are 2-0. They look terrific on Sunday night. Well, we'll see again. It's just so early. It's so early. That's what I guess the Overreaction Monday podcast is for. Oh, it's going to be hot.

Don't wear it. Don't miss it. So that'll be again when we're done.

Chris Brockman and I will record that. And that'll be out later on in advance of the Monday niner between the Eagles and the Falcons. Now then, another reason why you don't want to overreact so early in the season is because we're still learning who teams are. And after week one, we certainly thought the Cowboys were a team that could come out and play all three phases and hit you in the mouth.

And have you wondering if you're even worthy of playing on the same field as them. That's what happened last week in Cleveland. And then they go home to Dallas where they've won 16 regular season games in a row to take on a Saints team that 40-burgered Carolina.

And a lot of people just shrugging their shoulders going, OK, that's Carolina. They were worst in the league last year for a reason. And then the New Orleans Saints showed up like the Green Bay Packers of the wildcard. And just hit the Cowboys in the mouth repeatedly.

And the defense couldn't stop them. And Alvin Kamara comes out like the Alvin Kamara of old. And look at Derek Carr slinging it around.

Look at Derek Carr feeling all good about himself again. And look at the Saints with Clint Kubiak with the page turned officially from the Sean Payton era. New offensive coordinator, new plan, new Orleans 2-0. Look at the New Orleans Saints out there in the bayou just hanging out all summer long. We had Taryn Mathew come on and basically said, actually we're in Southern California for much of training camp.

Coming on and saying, hey, don't forget about us. And the Saints come on out in all phases, looked like the Cowboys last week. And turned the Cowboys into the Browns last week.

And the quarterback wide receiver combination that Jerry said we're going all in on, and we're not signing until the very last minute and he dropped a combined 94 million per on him. That offense didn't even crack 20. And the Cowboys have now lost their last two games at AT&T Stadium by a combined score of 92-51. It looked non-competitive.

Looked like this thing was over right from jump. The Saints scored a touchdown on their first five drives of the game. Six drives a game, pardon me. And with Kamara scoring four touchdowns and Carr accounting for three, they have back-to-back 40 burgers for the first time in a season since 2018. The 91 points they've scored right now are tied for the fourth most in the first two games in the history of the National Football League. And the last time a team started a season with two games in which they scored 44 or more points and one of both, the 2009 Saints. Remember what they did? They won it all.

How about that? They're just the fifth team to ever do that, to start a season with back-to-back wins scoring 44 or more points in the game. And they're the last two teams to do it. Derek Carr is feeling himself. This is a guy who was sent home for Christmas by Josh McDaniels. This is a guy who winds up in New Orleans and last year under the Pete Carmichael reign, which is the last throws of the Sean Payton era, he looked lost.

Not anymore. Derek Carr in New Orleans, baby. Hit it. I promised our team and I promised our city I would do anything, everything in my power.

And it's not going to be perfect, but I was going to do everything in my power, exhaust everything that I could even begin to imagine to try and just be better this year. And so far, we've started off good. As a famous fellow Bayou member, bam!

Bam, bam! They kicked it up a notch. Have they ever?

That's funny. And guess what? Let's take a look at the Saints' schedule. Uh-oh.

Yeah. Because next up for them is a slobberknocker in the dome. The Philadelphia Eagles might be equally 2-0 coming in next week.

That's a good one. And oh, baby. It's a short week for Philadelphia. AJ Brown's not playing tonight. We'll see what happens with him.

And guess what, man? Is that an early window game? I don't know if they're going to switch it around or not. That should be flex to Sunday night. Well, yeah, I mean, Sunday night's already settled with Kansas City and Atlanta. That's one game. NBC getting Kansas City. They are not swapping out of that. This game's going to be so much better than that one.

Let me see. Philadelphia at New Orleans, that's just plain old one Eastern on Fox, which means they're going to be waking up early there and a lot of swing oil for the folks in New Orleans there. Then they're at Atlanta, at Kansas City on a Monday night, home for Tampa. Proof's going to be coming out in the pudding here, but these are fun games if the Saints are flying around. Defensively, Cam Jordan and Tyron Matthew just laid some people out yesterday. They came into Dallas on Sunday with intentions. And we have a new clubhouse leader. Of the worst take I've heard in this show. In quite some time. There's still time. First off, it was on a overreaction show.

And now you sound like a YouTube commenter. I'm trying desperately to bury the fact that the Miami Heat should not have trade for Giannis and Ted Acumpo, which is truly the worst take in the soon to be 10 year history of the show. And it was mine. Maya Colpa. But Spencer Rattler starting for this team by Halloween and Dennis Allen's going to be the first coach fired.

That one is the agent poorly on an overreaction. OK, very good. Thank you. I'm allowed to say whatever I want. It's like all due respect. It's true. It's all due respect.

It's a safe space. It's like a roast. It's a roast in a way. I got it. Come on. Man.

Oh, man. The Saints are just going to be must see. Watch. Fun. If there's really a plan. The defense is always good, right?

It is. The defense is always. They are a prideful bunch to Mario Davis. They are a prideful bunch. But the way that offense was rolling yesterday. I mean, speed.

You can't teach it. And they got a lot of need. Man, American scoring drives in 15 positions. Yeah. And Kamara, remember two years ago, I told you I didn't want to draft him a fancy. I'd like I think he's watched.

Yeah. He the last two seasons. Not why he is not wash. Not at all. Most definitely not wash.

So let's talk about Dallas and we'll throw our first break. I want to be consistent. I want to be consistent here. You don't have to be. No, I'm going to be consistent here. I want to be consistent. We got to be consistent because when they came off of their win in Cleveland last week, I said that they were deep playoff run worthy.

And until I see it in January, whatever. Yeah, you didn't. You were like, I said, whatever. Those are the two things that.

Wow. We saw what we needed to see, including Dak being signed and then him performing more than capably because all of my friends on game day morning, Mooch and Gerald and Kurt said they all watched the tape and said the offense was a little hanky, but it got covered up by a punt return for a touchdown in Cleveland and then Micah and the defense just running all over the Cleveland offense. So I want to be consistent and say this is still a team that's got a ton of good players that has a playoff roster, but whatever. We got got whatever.

Whatever, because I need to see it in January. And if Derek Carr and Jordan Love come into their building and treat it like the same fire hydrant that the Cowboys treated the Browns dog pound on Sunday, major problems, major problems, major issues all over the map. Because if you got a quarterback who is highly determined with a bunch of skilled players that are real good and real fast with a good coach coordinating it and the Cowboys look like that. Well, they're not winning the Super Bowl. They're not getting the NFC championship game.

It's going to be 29 years and counting by the end of January. So I will just say whatever. This is what Dak had to say after the Saints just crushed them, hit them in the mouth, and then defensively they couldn't stop anybody and Dak didn't have a response. Yeah, I mean, Stan, if I talk about each and every week, no games are played on paper. As far as riding a high, I don't, I know I wasn't personally, I don't think the guys in the locker room necessarily were. I mean, I talked about how much meat we left on the bone offensively.

And that's simply why you can't listen to other people's opinions and read with you guys. You guys write respectfully. I mean, yeah, you know, y'all may have put this team on a high more than we should have been. And now we just simply have got to reset. We've got to respond. We're not going undefeated.

You know, I mean, hadn't been done in 50 years. We were surprised. So it's about getting back to it and finding a way to respond to put the best team on the field next week. Of course, it's not about going undefeated. I mean, you got blown out, got crushed, smoked, like coming off the bus, not even in the same league as the team that was visiting. You didn't lose like the Ravens lost in Kansas City by a toenail or like the Bengals lost in Kansas City with an unfortunate penalty, untimely.

But one again, that's a penalty, I believe. But that said, aside, aside, aside, if you want to turn the page, what a battle of desperate teams for week three, Ravens at Cowboys. Yes, the Cowboys are not 0-2 like Baltimore, but my goodness, do the Cowboys need to make sure that they can take a physical team with speed everywhere? I will say that about the quarterback and Zay Flowers, who in the loss to the Raiders still had seven for 91 and here comes Derek Henry, who, as you all know, I think the Cowboys should have signed. They can't get to that game against the Giants on Thursday night fast enough off of that game. But there's the Ravens standing in between, oh, baby. Let's take a break. Come on back. Let's talk about the Sunday night and the rookie quarterbacks. Broncos fans, I want to hear from you about what I said about Bonex after the week one loss.

I mean, a laugh. I'm laughing at myself. Everyone understand that Caleb Williams and more coming up. Are you struggling to close deals? Business to business selling is tougher than ever. So I don't know about you, but I also heard from a couple of people, like say when Lad McConkie came up with a couple of catches or Greg Zurline kicked the field goal yesterday. Nice kickoff return, like the only bright spot for the Rams yesterday was the kickoff return to start the game before they got blown out in Arizona.

Blake Corum. Boy, I hear from everybody about the Keegan Michael Key, Mr. Garvey segment from last week. Oh, yeah. Yeah, the Bucks put it in their postgame video yesterday.

The Bucks did? Yeah. What? Because oh, Chasse McLaughlin. Chasse McLaughlin. He had a good game. Chasse McLaughlin.

He did have a good game. Oh, my God. You missed it. I know. I was like, you know, I saw you commented.

And I was so pissed. You know who commented was Duke Riley commented. Oh, he did? Yes. Somebody added Duke Riley or Dukay Relay. Dukay Relay.

Do you want to go to war, Malucky? I mean, I was laughing. So that's how it's going to be. Oh, my God. Like I told you off air, TJ, you know, part of the reason why, again, our producer for these, Jake Culp, he does such a great job of producing these reels for Instagram and tick tock and whatever, because he he did a great job of presenting it and splitting the screen. So so Kegan's at the top and our reactions are at the bottom when he goes, L.I. am itchy bird and you start laughing, TJ, and I am I am I am I am I started laughing, L.I.

So I never I never contacted an eagle because I knew that I'm calling a jet game in three weeks. And g regs are really and will definitely be dropped nationally for yourself. Then.

Oh, yeah. G regs really is kicking in London, back on the Rich Eisen Show radio network. I'm sitting at the Rich Eisen Show desk furnished by Grainger with supplies and solutions for every industry. Grainger has the right product for you.

Call click Grainger dot com or just stop by. We're laughing for the radio audience because we just talked about the Keegan Michael G regs are really into I mean, and I'm thinking about you actually call. I'm going to I'm calling a jet game, the Jets and Vikings and g regs are really and will be kicking a field goal on the NFL Network broadcast. All right. We got it. We got to search this Vikings roster and see if we can.

No, no, no, no, no. We're just going to stick and stick with you just got to stick in there and just get out. You know, that's what you have a little fun and then move on and actually call a game between two teams that won yesterday. And we'll talk about the Vikings and Jets later on. Let's talk Sunday Night Football. Because it kind of opens the door to the rookie quarterbacks. We've seen two games each from Caleb Williams, from Jayden Daniels, first and second overall and Bownix, 12th overall.

And listen, I am under I understand Bears fans might be panicked and I do see they are panicked. A lot of them because Caleb didn't come out of the box looking like Patrick Mahomes, okay? I didn't expect him to come out of the box looking like Patrick Mahomes. By the way, Patrick Mahomes didn't come out of the box looking like Patrick Mahomes in his rookie season.

You know why? He came out of the box looking like Drake May standing on the sidelines, trucking my earpiece. Okay, that's how Mahomes started. And the Chiefs had the benefit of A, not drafting Mahomes first overall and B, having Alex Smith.

And so what's going to happen is Caleb Williams is going to go out there and take his lumps. I will remind everybody in Chicago, if you're saying this, and this has to do with every rookie quarterback that has come out and not looked like either a Heisman Trophy winner or in the case of Knicks like a guy who's played 61, collegiate games. Marshall Faulk tells the story all the time. Peyton Manning threw 28 interceptions his rookie season and every single time he said the same thing, Marshall said, as he was running off the field. Peyton Manning was saying, I didn't think he could get there, meaning the defender who caught the ball and picked it off, he threw it in a way that he thought the defender would never be able to get there, let alone pick it off. And Marshall, after a while, finally said to Peyton Manning, Peyton, this is the NFL, they can all get there. And Caleb, this is the NFL, they can all get to you.

All of them. Doesn't help that Keenan Allen isn't out there either. And guess what? Caleb looked better this week and I know he threw two interceptions. He improved. I think he looked better this week than he did week one. The play that he made before the second interception was incredible.

To get away from the defender, got his shirt ripped, rolls to the right, as three guys chasing him, just got picked off. And I know that and you know, you got to put it in perspective. It's the second game. In the second game, you're one and one. You did win the first one and Caleb Williams has an incredible skill set. Now the one thing I will just say is as he was getting his behind beaten, I mean, they, the Texans got after it and they got clear shots on him.

And if you're in the offensive line room this week, this is going to be a very difficult tape. And I think one time, I think he wore a Danneel Hunter on him. Danneel Hunter just enveloped him. Will Anderson got him, they kept getting him. And the blitz, when they blitzed him, I mean, there was a great moment on the Sunday night game with their segment, their new gen stats segment that Chris Collinsworth nailed it. When they blitzed him, they got to him. And when they didn't, he looked terrific. Now that means expect more blitzes. And if you've got a team like Houston, they're really good at it.

And they've got talented players all over the place. And we may find out by the end of the year, this was one of the best defenses in the NFL, middle in the AFC and certainly the AFC South, which by the way, the Texans lead significantly right now. And we'll get to that in a minute. But in the same way that Matt Eberflus was commending his quarterback, his rookie quarterback for having excellent demeanor and body language and disposition coming off of the week one win, despite it being very difficult for Caleb Williams, this screenshot concerns me.

Where his head is back and he's just like, this is the longest day of my life. Like this is Utah on steroids. They don't hit like this in the Pac-12, by the way. And I tweeted this out last night and I get a lot of people will look at the Utah tape.

Folks, Utah is not the Houston Texans. Those were some grown ass men going after Caleb. And if you're a teammate and you look at Caleb looking like that, he's got a C on his chest.

He's the quarterback of the Chicago Bears. No matter how wiped out he is and how crushed he is, this is just not the best look. It just isn't. And he'll learn from it. And by all accounts, he wasn't showing anybody else up. And this is what he had to say after the game. He just hits every point right. But even, I mean, there's going to be more days like these for Caleb Williams because the division games are coming and Aiden Hutchinson's coming and he had five sacks at Baker Mayfield yesterday.

Okay. Aiden's coming twice. With bad intentions. The Packers are coming twice. The Vikings are coming twice. And for the Chicago Bears, you know, Josh Heinz Allen is coming once.

Okay. So at one point, Nick Bosa's coming for him. It's all coming.

Sean Gary's coming again. Twice. Right.

You know, so either it's all going to happen, but he survived it there one and one. And this is what he had to say after the game. Not coming out with a win. Not executing, you know, when we needed to as a team. You know, myself throwing two interceptions. It's not something that I've done. Something that I do is turn the ball over.

It's not really my, you know, my thing. So, you know, I think those things are probably the things that I'm most, you know, frustrated about. I understand it's a long season. Understanding that it's week two. Understanding that we're going to respond and, you know, just get better every day. Get better at practice. You know, all these different things throughout the weeks.

Attention to details and things like that. There you go. You could screen cap anything, though, and make it look bad. Yeah, I mean, watching that, I think it was just like a split second. No, and I know that. And I understand that.

And I understand that he could have gotten up and he could have rallied the troops right after that. You know, and just like had that moment, it's captured and I'm picking and choosing. I'm just using that as a moment of, can't even have that for a split second. You just can't.

Why? You can't just sit down at, maybe he just got sacked for the seventh time and sat down and was like, and then got right back up. I mean, that's literally like a split second. And I, I'll just, again, I can only describe what I do for a living. Clearly I'm not getting my ass beat and tarred, okay? I'm not, but I understand when I'm on the set of game day morning or on the set here, if I'm frustrated, I'm angry, I can't show it. And there are times when I do. And I feel bad.

I do. I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm just counseling rather than criticizing. I mean, I think he gets the ultimate, but hear what I'm also saying.

You heard what I said around it, right? I mean, he's, the good news is he's going through it. The good news is he takes the hard coaching apparently very well. The good news is he's humble and, and, and that's, that's what you want to see out of your quarterback.

But, you know, again, the coach talked about disposition and that was just a moment in time. I'm just sort of counseling that. And I just want to throw this out there. And I know I'm, I'm doing this on the fly, so you'll have to bear with me just to bring this all full sked, full, full circle right here.

The way I started this segment here, let me go for it. All right. So Mahomes was drafted in 2017, right?

Correct. How would he have looked if he played the first two games at New England and home for Philadelphia? Right? Well, probably pretty good. Because didn't they beat New England by like 30 that game? They beat New England 42-27, but part of that might've been because Alex Smith could see what Belichick was cooking up.

How was Belichick against rookie quarterbacks, Chris? Very good. Right.

Yeah. So I think I'm trying to make a point here. Every single time I'm making a negative point, you're highlighting it.

I'm making a positive point and you're pushing back. Honestly, had Mahomes started at New England and home for Philadelphia, he might not have looked like he did against Denver in week 17. Rookie quarterbacks traditionally stink. And in that respect too, Jayden Daniels seems to be running way too much. He got hurt at one point, had to come out of the game. Yeah, kind of scary. Jeff Triscoll came in there. I thought that was a big problem. And Bo Nix, man.

I know I said I saw a lot to like with him. I'm concerned that in the same way what's going on with the offensive line up front for Chicago, they've got to play better. The run game is non-existent.

There's Courtland Sutton and a bunch of guys that don't appear to be able to separate. The defense has got to be looking around saying, we are balling out. We could be 2-0 and we are not. They came out like a house of fire against Geno Smith last week.

Geno's now 2-0. And Sean Payton is just probably sitting there and doing the coach Dale thing, which is just waving his game plan to the howling masses right now and say, that's my guy. Jared Sitta might be sitting there saying we could at least win some games here.

And that's not the point. They used the 12th overall pick on this kid who, in his best drive of the game, threw an interception in the end zone. And he sounds like he's probably hearing it from his coach and he knows he's hearing it from the fans right now. Listen to this soundbite from the rookie Bo Nix after he started 0-2. Bo, can you take us through the interception in the end zone? Yeah. Chalk back.

Do it to the other team. Okay. I mean, that's kind of funny.

That is what happened. But again, I'm not an all 22 guy. And how many of his weapons are separating for him? How many of the running backs are just taking the pressure off in the same way Green Bay did Malik Willis yesterday?

How many of them? I'm still waiting. It's Bueller.

It's crickets. So right now, the rookie quarterbacks are two games under 500 because Bo Nix is yet to win. And the other guys are 500 through two. Patience, everyone.

Patience. And then there's the Houston Texans. Here's what I've gathered. They're good. They're not only good, they are AFC championship worthy. They've got it, man. They've got it.

They've got it everywhere. This kid, because he's still a kid, CJ Stroud, looks like he's played in the league for 10 years. I'm serious. And he makes every throw. There were two throws in this game, and they were pretty much back to back. He made one throw to Diggs where he needed some touch, and he didn't panic. He saw it, he set his feet, and he let it fly. And then Diggs toe tapped, and it was so pretty.

Correct. And for some reason, there was a challenge on it because it was right in front of Eberflus, and the Bears blew that one. And then he threw an absolute pellet to Nikko Collins.

Two different throws requiring two different reads and two different sets of understanding, and I mean, neck up, neck down. And that's why a lot of these rookie quarterbacks right now are getting a lot of Twitter heat, and fans are freaking out. Don't forget, folks, CJ Stroud started 0-2 last year, but adding Diggs to the mix and Mixon, let's hope he's healthy.

I mean, so far, just two games in it, Tank Dell looks like a gadget guy. Like they're just doing end of rounds with him. He did drop one where Stroud on the run hit him in the hands, and he dropped it.

I think that would have been a touchdown for him. Well, Diggs has kind of come in and overtaken that number two role. Makes sense. Makes sense. But we were wondering that in the off season, what Diggs was going to look like in this offense.

Right. And they added Cade Stover. You may remember we introduced you to him, not just here, but on the NFL Network draft coverage. He was the one who was massaging the leather. He's that guy who was on the farm who would massage the cow or the steer or the bull, whatever.

I'm a Jew from New York. I don't know. I don't know how to put our between buns and eat it. But defensively too, oh my goodness gracious. Can they get after you? And Keemee Fairbairn. Doesn't miss.

No. Like he's holding Brandon Aubrey's beer half the time. And he got a coach who was just like, you know what? I've got a great defense. I'm not going to go for it on fourth down, even with Stroud, even with the running game.

Pretty surprising. He's done that twice now. He's done that twice.

That's what happened in Indianapolis in the season opening win. And D'Amico Ryans, he's a defensive minded coach. He's just going to let it up to the other guys. Remember I told you about this guy, Al Shair, remember I told you, he's fast.

He's everywhere. Petrie, Anderson, the Neil Hunter's added to the mix. Oh man, they can make the Super Bowl. They play like this. 100% and they can win it and they can win it. They can make it and win it. If only someone in this room picked them to make the Super Bowl.

No, I got it, dude. Smart pick. Looking good. Two weeks in and everyone else in the division is lost.

I know. Everyone's 0-2. They're 2-0. The rest of the division's 0-6. And they also have a road win against one of them.

Good luck. Good luck catching the Texans. And certainly if the AFC South is, if this is an indication how they might play over the rest of the season, Texans can clean up.

They can clean up in division and they can win. Now how about this for an interesting week three game? Sneaky fun. At Minnesota. Love that.

Who would have thunk it? And then Jacksonville Buffalo, at New England, at Green Bay, this is going to be fun. They're a fun team to watch. Everybody's got a dozen fantasy players from this team.

So there are a lot of, a lot of casual fans are going to start peeking in on them. We're going to learn a lot more about these Texans. And one thing you need to know is they've got an MVP candidate under center and in shotgun. This kid that nothing seems to faze him. He is unflappable. And can he read a defense pre-snap, post-snap? Oh my goodness. Is CJ Stroud all that plus the biscuit? Let's take a break.

NerdWallet Compare, Inc. NMLS 1617539. So Mike Hoskins, Rich Eisen Show coordinating producer, die-hard Bills fan, which one of you has taken him to the Bills-Rams game? In December? Which one of you? I mean, is he paying? Is he paying? What are we doing? Is he paying?

Hoskins got a Buffalo crew, I think he goes to. Well, at any rate, I shouldn't make it about you. We should make it about the lovely bride and groom for his Buffalo fan base friends. He went to their wedding, Andy and Laura, and he sent us this wedding cake, which is a work of art. Look at that wedding cake. The Zubaz lower tier of the cake, the Bills for the top tier, and look at the top.

It's not a bride and a groom, it's a broken table on the top. I didn't even see the red Solo cups yesterday. With a lot of red Solo cups. Solo cups. Unbelievable.

Looks like somebody just got Batista bombed through the table, it snapped. What's the inside, Mike? I didn't ask you about that.

What kind of cake was it? He doesn't remember. He doesn't remember.

They didn't cut it? No. Oh, that might be the one you freeze.

No, no. You freeze the top. You freeze the top. You freeze the table. One year, right?

You eat that after one year. Put it up one more time. Is that like the bride and groom outfits on the table top, or they just four went the bride and groom and just broke the table in half? Oh my gosh. That's just fantastic. Just the table. I mean, what a work of art. White folding table.

I'd feel bad eating that, it's so beautiful. Well done. My kudos to the dessert chef and to the bride and groom. They're 2-0.

Mazel tov. Bride and groom, they're undefeated, just like the Bills right now. Look at us. Bills are nice.

I know, right? Unbelievable through two weeks. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show, 844-204-rich, number to dial.

We'll take your calls in a moment. Don't go anywhere. My boy is 2-0.

He's super nice too. Baker Mayfield's playing like a most valuable player, gents. And in the battle of the number one overall drafted quarterback, so I had to go somewhere else to find their stride.

Rematch the playoff game? He beat Jared Goff. Now the defense did its job too. Goff picked off twice and the Bucks dropped a couple that they could have picked off as well. Baker friggin' Mayfield followed up his four touchdown performance in the week one beatdown of Washington with a 12-19, 185-yard performance. He did throw an interception, but he threw a touchdown. But the one that just bumps out of me, this dead leg he threw on an 11-yard run into the end zone to give the Bucks the lead for good. You know how Berman would go, wah?

That was it. That's what he did on that play. This is what I guess what John Dorsey envisioned for the Browns, this type of play, this type of moxie, this type of everything.

And he has grown up and he's groansed up and he's groansed up. And it was a Mike Evans game in week one. It was a Godwin game in week two.

Godwin looks amazing. Right. And they play together. Look at the teams that are doing well right now are teams that for the most part, I understand the Ravens are owing to.

But for the most part that they play, they've played together and they didn't have to have much practice time, I guess, or preseason time. And the Bucks are 2-0 to match the Saints. This is what Baker had to say after avenging last year's divisional round bouncing in Detroit. You know, for starters, having a bunch of guys out, a lot of guys stepping up in a huge way and for it to come down to critical moments and a really tight ballgame and people, everybody stepping up is so big for everybody on this team to stick together, obviously a different outcome than we had last time we were here, like you mentioned. But it's a new season, still got a lot of games left, but for us building chemistry and building this resiliency and the culture that we want, this is a huge win for us.

It is well said. We got sacked five times by Aiden Hutchinson and got up each time and kept on going. And the Lions made the little mistakes that the Bucks didn't. Not coming away with three at the end of the first half, everybody should seek that out with no timeouts left instead of, like the offense thought they were staying on the field despite the ball and Dan Campbell took the hit afterwards saying he put the team in a bad position. The kicking unit ran out on the field and it was too many men on the field, 10 second runoff at the end of the half and no points and that would have been a big to do because all they would have needed was a field goal at the end instead of them trying to drive the field and golf and the Lions could not get there even though the defense gave them one last shot. And Todd Bowles' team is the one that is veteran and not making the mistakes and the Lions are the team that is veteran that made the mistakes and that's that. They're one and one, the Bucks are 2-0 and they're going to have that back pocket tie break against the Lions.

Maybe they'll have them in the spot where they fire the cannons instead if they see each other again. I hope they do because they play entertaining football games. But your Tampa Bay Buccaneers are mea culpa. Chris, overreaction Monday made their social media. Yeah, we made the pre-Sunday hype video and the post-game hype video. We appreciate it. Thank you, Bucks. Thanks for listening to when we don't give you your proper respect.

I mean, nobody cares, but I picked them to win the division. Good. Good job, TJ.

Thanks for, no, no, no. People care. Good job. People care. Just the social media is not going to be spotlighting that, they're just going to when two dopes go the other way. I get it. They'll get in on it.

You should be happy you avoided that spotlight. 2-0 and guess what, man? Next up for them, Tampa, home for Denver, home for Philly, at Atlanta on a Thursday night at New Orleans, home for Baltimore, then home for Atlanta, then at Kansas City. The game against Baltimore and Kansas City are on Monday night. We're going to see a lot of them, and we're going to see a lot of them in front of the country. They're going to play some important football games over the next two months, and then they're at home for San Francisco before a bye.

This is big stuff. The Bucks have a shot, and they got some stout opponents, and they could keep on making statements. Daniel Jeremiah coming up, our number two of this program, making statements, taking names like ours on overreaction Monday, and making statements, and Denver, I mean, Bo Nix is going to come in, and there's Vida Veya, there's the rest of that. It's going to be potentially ugly, which means Denver will win, because I don't know who's still around in a Survivor pool anymore. With your Patriots bouncing everybody in week one, and whoever survived that, I'm sure they thought the Ravens would beat the Raiders.

Back-to-back weeks, the two biggest point spreads, the two biggest favorites for Survivor lose, out. I'm in one, big time, totally for fun. Are you still alive? It's totally for fun.

No, because I picked the Ravens. They're actually going to start it back up, because so many people are out. What? Are you serious?

They're doing a week three buyback. Good Lord. Wow, exactly. I've never heard of such a thing. 90% of the people are out. I've never heard of that before. Well, what if you're in the 10%? You don't want that.

Well, then there's the original, and they're doing a second one. It's like a side pot? Yeah, side pot.

Somebody who's all in for less, pretty much? Bingo. Okay, because if I'm in a 10%, I'm like, no.

Week three side pot, Survivor. Because everybody's out. Now, do the 10% get a chance when it's scooping? No.

Oh. It's just for all the losers. The losers. I can't be in that one, Rich. You don't want to be in that one. I would think that if you get through the 10%, if you're the 10%, and you get through unblemished, and everybody else in the new one does not, you should scoop. Scoop, man, scoop.
