Rich reacts to Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh butting heads with a reporter in the wake of L.A.’s disastrous 0-4 start to the season and discusses how the 2027 NFL Draft could unfold with so many teams potentially drafting in the top 5 who won’t need to select a quarterback. Comic actor Sam Richardson joins Rich in-studio to promote Apple TV’s ‘Matchbox: The Movie,’ reveals how he went from doing improv as a 15-year-old to winning an Emmy on ‘Ted Lasso’ thanks to the friendships he made with Tim Robinson and Jason Sudeikis, reveals his favorite moments from making HBO’s acclaimed comedy ‘Veep,’ and weighs in on the state of his belove Detroit Lions. ‘No-Contest Wrestling’ host O’Shea Jackson Jr stops by the studio to talk Dodgers-Braves and more. Which means when he comes out, got to get him to sign. I believe sign that we already have a lot of good.

Well, Sudeikis, Brendan Hunt, Phil Dunster, Jeremy Swift. And Sean Payton, Sean Payton signed it. You know, he when he retired from the Saints, he was giving out biscuits to everybody there in New Orleans.

So we got to get Sam to sign this thing. Keep it going, fun here on this program eight four four two zero four. Rich, we'll take some calls again on the WeatherTech Fan Line. When you are losing in the NFL, this just in, it sucks. Life sucks.

Um. When Jim Harbaugh meets with the media here in Southern California over the last couple years, it's been a lot of fun. We even made a segment out of it, the Harbaugh Files, because if you recall, when Jim first moved out here, he was living like Jim Rockford, right, in in an RV on the beach, right, on the beach. And so we made a Harbaugh file out of it. But this is not a Harbaugh file because t here is no laughing matter going down there now.

At oh and four. Across the street, and you know the the the guy who was brought in here to take Justin Herbert to the next level, and he knows that when he comes here on this show as he did two summers ago, saying he woke up that morning early in the middle of the night, saying how am I going to get Justin to the Hall of Fame? That's the sort of thing that he's thinking about. And right now, Herbert's running for his life again. Throwing picks that just make you think, where was that coming from?

And offensively, Mike McDaniel's been brought in to fix all this stuff, and nothing's been fixed yet. You know, a little bit better this week, but still no different results. It's still a big circle in the win column. And this exchange is notable because you don't usually hear the back and forth get snippy in Southern California ever. And certainly, again, the tenor of the Harbaugh press conferences has turned.

The question I believe we'll hear is why is Justin Herbert continuing to play hero ball here, since that's supposed to be fixed? When you came here for Chargers to get it protected. My charge was to make sure he didn't have to be a superhero, but you know, two point five years later, like you said, he still has to be a superhero for you guys to have a chance to win the game. Why is that? Um.

Yeah, that just sounds more like an insult than it does a question. But I mean, that's the way you look at it. Um. I'm saying that, yeah. There's, it's the kind of competitor that he is.

Where I've never seen him flinch. I've never seen him rattled. He's a he's an amazing inspiration, and that's what we do. We all feed off of that. I know the entire team does.

And I mean, you ask me what gives me. What gives me optimism, what gives me hope with this football team, because I see that throughout the entire team, and yeah, we we attack, we improve. Can't improve everything all at once, but we can improve one thing at a time, all the time, and that's what this team is doing. It was just asking it. It's the third season now.

He's still among the most pressure to hit quarterbacks. I'm just asking why. I think that's just a question. Can answer it the same way. You can answer the same way.

I don't think you can. Yeah, you can answer. I think I did. Hmm. On four, that's what happens.

Yeah, what happens? But it is a legitimate question: is why is he being pressured at the same rate here? Because the you know last year. It was understandable. This one, you got Alton, Rashawn Slater still there.

You know, yeah, the offensive line seemingly much healthier. Listen, Jim is just not going to sit here and and and go, yeah. That that's always going to be his answer. Was I believe in Justin Herbert? Love the guy.

We feed off him. He's a superhero. That sort of stuff is what we're going to improve. It just sucks to be on form and. It sets up a fascinating development here at the outset of October quarter post point.

Four games in, thirteen more to go. Anything can change, obviously. But in next year's draft. We have been talking about it for over a year. Even in last year's draft, two years ago, you could even say that everybody was pegging twenty twenty seven as the year to go get your quarterback.

To the point where, when the Rams go ahead and snag their quarterback of the future, in Ty Simpson, this year because they had an extra first round, you are like, "Really? I thought next year is the year to get your guy." If you're going to be taking a flyer, the Rams are probably like, "Well, we're not going to be picking middle of the first round very often. Certainly not when we get one from Atlanta or a couple years ago." Giants, you're going to go for your quarterback of the future now with the first round in Jackson Dart, huh? They're going to bide your time. They're going to sit here and figure it out.

You're not. You're you're going to go now. You're going now, huh? After you don't get JJ McCarthy when you could have, now they have him again, which is kind of wild because Dart is hurt. Can't make this stuff up, which is why we're bringing this up now.

Because in this can't make it up league, you know, you look at the teams currently winless, currently winless, and we weren't going to really talk about it until our Overreaction Monday podcast. A new feature of that show, born out of you saying a couple weeks ago, "Hey, I keep getting blown up on social Sunday nights with people coming up with ideas that we should talk about on Monday's show." And now we're having a tweet of the week every week. John Wilson at the John Wilson, who's showing off all his degrees, got three degrees, three of them, yeah, B.A.M. Masters in Education. He's a doctor.

The Chargers and Texans are going to have top five picks in the twenty twenty seven draft, and neither will win five games this season. Which is, you know, not out of the realm. Not out of the realm, but if you know it, right? They they they have thirteen games to go.

So if they're not going to win five games, that would be what? That'd be a brutal stretch of finishing off four and four and nine. Both teams finishing four and nine. Yuck! I still think they're two both too damn talented to finish up four and nine.

I agree, but again, never know. You look at the teams that are currently zero and five, right now. Zero and four, right now. Chargers and Texans, Dolphins. The Tennessee Titans, Titans in Tampa, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Yeah, let's just play it out in the draft next year, where you've got quarterbacks galore. That's all I've been hearing from folks like Daniel Jeremiah, who's on Friday's show, Todd McShay from The Ringer, when he comes on this show, Mel Kiper Jr. when he comes on this show. Anybody whose job is to evaluate who's coming from college to the pros. This is the quarterback draft of quarterback drafts.

That if these five teams are the ones that show up top five in the draft on the clock, Tennessee's got Cam Ward. The Chargers have Justin Herbert. The Texans have C.J. Stroud. The Bucks just signed.

Baker to a big deal, yeah. And then you got the Dolphins, who have Malik Willis, and is the team that if they sit there at one, they're going for it. We all know that, with all due respect to Willis, because Willis can stick around the following year. He's affordable enough to give them the wherewithal to do what the Raiders are doing right now. True, albeit maybe not to the tune of winning three of their first four.

What would happen? Because you've got the Jets with a massive amount of first-round draft choices, three of them, and you've got the Browns with a massive amount of choices too. And I don't care if Deshaun Watson keeps doing what he's doing. You know that's still going to be a sell to Browns fans for various reasons. What would you do if you're at the top of the draft and you're, you know, if you're Tennessee, do you end your Cam Ward attempt?

That's number one. Yeah, that's number one. Number two. Yep. The Chargers and the Texans aren't gonna.

And their tenures with Herbert and Stroud, you would think not. But teams would be calling. They would have choices to make. Yeah. Do you get a Hall for the first overall selection or second overall selection that might be on par of what the Bears got for Bryce Young from Carolina for the right for Carolina to go draft Bryce Young?

You know, you could get that sort of haul, or do you stand pat and not get all of these draft choices? Because you can get a massive amount of draft choices and take Jeremiah Smith number one. That's a tall order, as we all know. Keyshawn was the last one to go number one overall as a wide receiver. But we've seen some guys in the top five recently.

Well, I mean, Carnell Tate just finally had his teammate from last year, but Marvin Harrison hasn't worked out, right? Do you get Jeremiah Smith for Justin Herbert? Do you get Jeremiah Smith for C.J. Stroud? Wouldn't that be an interesting connection?

His two top wide receivers, Ohio State and Michigan. For the Ohio State quarterback in Houston, do you do that? Tampa, do you get Jeremiah Smith when you're probably spending all year going, man? Mike Evans would have looked good around here still. For a team that's right now own four, you know, Smith and Ibuka, you get teammates once again.

Can't deny it. Doesn't matter they're from the same school because that school has a pretty good track record. Do you do that? What do you do right now? Tankathon has the Titans taking Archibald at number two.

And the Texans taking Jeremiah one. That's just where it's at, right?

Well, they've got six quarterbacks overall in the top twenty-one. It's real easy for Tankathon or anybody to do such a thing because, yeah, I mean, you don't have you don't know the hall. Like, let's just say, as you call him Archibald, right? Let's just say Texas goes on the run like Indiana went on, right?

Okay, let's just say that. And I would say, then, congratulations to the SEC for finally winning the national championship. Oh, that's big of you. And do you think Tennessee would go? Let's go and get Peyton's nephew, Mister Tennessee, volunteer, and all those fans would be oh, Jack to get a Manning there.

And you tell Cam Ward, thanks. From the memories, or do you say we believe in Cam Ward and who wants Arch Manning, and you get a haul of picks to build around what you've been building? And losing a bunch of games for this year, yeah. I mean, it's going to be a massive choice. Depends on how the last thirteen games of the Cam Ward experience.

And you really think the Texans are going to be first overall at the end of the day? I don't. But that's right now. I get it. I get it.

And that's just the food for thought again that we're kind of batting around right now. I don't. It feels like Miami is going to be first on the clock right now, a month into the season.

So then they'll take then they'll take a quarterback. And then it's on at number two, and then it's on whoever's two. Do you? Because again, don't forget when it was Caleb, Jaden Daniels, Drake May, one, two, and three. There were a host of teams that were knocking on the Commanders and Patriots doors to say, "What do you think?" And they were told, "Keep moving, beat it." But what if?

Those teams at two and three are any of these teams we're mentioning who have a massive financial commitment to somebody at quarterback or somebody who is clearly their quarterback of the future. And you can be, you can, you can get a host of draft choices because you don't have to choose a quarterback and build around that quarterback of the future. Or say no thank you to the hall of draft choices, and go with the wide receiver who Larry Fitzgerald Jr. termed an absolute mutant. I think the most fun to think about is Tampa at number two because they would presumably have a new head coach, and you'd have to figure out on offense, yeah, as well.

And if they'd have an offensive guy come in, and do they take four, five draft picks, and maybe a player or two, or take Smith at number two, and now you have Baker Mayfield with these two Ohio State kids and Bucky Irving, and let's ride. This is potentially coming down the pipe because I think just to put a bow on it, everybody's assuming next year's draft will be laden with people who need quarterbacks because that's the reason why you're top five. You don't have one, but what if the circumstances are they 100 have them? But for whatever other reasons, they just didn't win enough football games this year. And if for the quarterbacks coming for other places, they may have to trade up to go get them.

And I always thought, good luck, because everybody in top five is going to need one anyway. What if multiple teams are open for business? But. They don't want to put a for sale sign there because the kid they could get at wide receiver is so generationally talented. It makes sense to forego all of that to take him for your quarterback that clearly needed the weapon to the point you finished in the top five of the draft.

Or what if it is the Chargers and a team is not offering a Hall of Picks for that selection? But Justin Herbert, what do you do? I'm just saying, if this is all in the Pat Rich.

Sorry, if this were the whole Pat with the Texans at number one, and they put Smith with Nico Collins, can you imagine? And Tank Dell fully healthy, Dell, right? I hope they get some linemen later on in that draft.

Well, that and that's the point. Like, do you get the host of picks? Because you could take that and cascade it deep into the future. Yeah, you could get four or five starters instead of just one guy. It's it's the whole Joe Burrow meme.

It's a I didn't see this on the bingo card. Yeah, no, it's it's going to be fascinating. And again, it's just four games in. Yeah, obviously, this could change. No doubt, top five.

But we're going to keep an eye on it. Yeah, it's we're going to keep an eye on it. When it comes to your home, Pella Windows and Doors are the experts at taking care of you and your home. Our radio audience has just returned here on the Richardson Show, ESPN Radio, Sirius XM, along with Disney Plus in the app. On the TV side of things, we just saw a clip of the film Matchbox, the movie that's coming to you on Apple TV streaming starting on October ninth. And Sam Richardson, part of the crew of this show of this movie, right here on the Richardson Show once again.

What's it like working with Cena? It's great. I tell you what, because he, I'd say the majority of the the fight sequences are him. Yeah. Like to watch him, like sort of like go through the fight sequences and and like the stunts.

It's it's a feat to behold. And but then like it's also fun and funny, playful. But like also a man about his business. I appreciate the sweetheart of an individual too. Truly, like like a good dude, salt of the earth.

Right. You got a good Story of from Cena from the set. I mean, it was my birthday, and it was my birthday out there. Me and my buddy Arturo, who's in the movie as well, and John. They take me out for.

For you know some some libations and and some some steaks, of course. And we—I don't know if this is like a story. I mean, it's not a bad story.

Okay, good. But but you know we we we tie one off until the like like we're drinking like we're separate. We're all pro wrestlers, and we are not. But Cena could put some down. Cena can put them down.

I even before I was like, oh, I got a hollow leg. I can put them down too. Yes. Uh. It was till the early morning.

We were like taking over the taps. Like if you are John Cena, you can. If the bar closes at the hotel, yeah, they won't close the bar.

So he's pouring drinks, and then at one point, I woke up in a different hotel room. What? Yeah, because he got me a nice room at the Four Seasons. I woke up and I was like just so confused. He was like, "Oh, you were you were down and out because it was it was just like a lot of first off." It was like we were still going at six in the morning, so I woke up at like a at a reasonable time.

Considering I woke up like ten, so it's not like enough enough time to like get my day started. But I did lose that. You went to sleep and you woke up in a different hotel room. Yeah, because like I think it was like we're probably not going to send you on the streets of Budapest at this point. Oh, this was in Budapest.

Oh, oh, big important part of the story. We want to hear. Yeah. Oh, spoiler alert! Also, the movie happens in Budapest and Morocco and Slovakia.

It's all kind of travels all over the world. Fantastic. Yeah. Well, that's pretty cool. Yeah.

That you could you put them down with. See, he he told me I would make a good wrestler. Oh, really? It's the greatest compliment I've ever heard. What would your wrestling name be?

Thought about that? Yeah. Well, I haven't thought about that, but right now on the spot, I'll call it the panic. The panic. That's right.

Because like nobody knows what I'm going to do. TJ, how does that sound to you? Is a wrestler called the Panic? Is that your finishing move, the Panic, or is that your actual? I'll be the Panic Attack.

Will be my finishing. Oh, Sam Richardson, this first round, nobody knows what I'm going to do. Fantastic. Okay, let's jump into.

So you're you're you're the pride of Wayne State University. Yes, I went to University of Michigan, so I know about where Wayne State is. Yes, you do. You're a native Detroiter, right? I am.

When did you first meet? Tim Robinson. When did you first meet him?

So I met Tim Robinson when when we when I was in high school. I was taking classes at Second City as a fifteen year old, and then he was on the touring company of Second City not not long after. But we would do shows at a theater called Planet Ant Theater, and eventually he became my level A teacher when I was still in high school, and then became fast friends, thickest sleeves. We wrote a bunch of shows together. Yeah, got got hired to.

To work in Chicago on the touring companies and main stage, you know. But we were like seventeen, nineteen, twenty.

So you've known him for a couple decades, huh? For I've known him. I knew him when I was in puberty. I was late puberty. I was hit puberty at 22.

Okay, it's about to say. It's about to say. You know when when did that happen? Yeah, I know we just kind of met again for the first time in like six years. Your favorite?

I think you should leave skit that you were part of. That's well, you know, I like them all very much. I think for me, my favorite one was Metaloid Maniac. Why is that? Because I love the idea of a person who has so many complicated rules on something, but wants it, but like wants to get everybody on board, and nobody can quite figure it out.

You know, so in that sketch, you know, there's a there's this guy's made this like game show with a lottery. Like, there's a guy in a metal suit. He's supposed to climb around on this wall and like. Touch these these uh these like like like panels that change color. Yes.

And like, but he's explaining the rules to the contestants who also don't quite get it. And then the guy in the suit is also like annoyed and like frustrated because like it doesn't quite make sense. And I'm like just. He made the wall. The wall is he made it, so you should crawl around on that because you made the wall.

Yeah, and in real life, the guy was also like getting a little frustrated because he's like, I don't know what you're asking for. But it was funny, and I loved it. And that's that's that's your favorite. I think that's my favorite one. I mean, you guys together are really really funny.

And then when did you meet Sudacus for the first time? On We're the Millers, is that the time?

So no, we met because Jason is as part of Second City as well.

So he would come through when Tim and I were on the main stage in Chicago. Yeah, he would come back and visit as an alumni, and he would you know improvise sets with us, and he like had a great time with me and Tim. Be like, you guys. When so when I left Second City and Tim left Second City, he was like, "You guys should do a show. You guys should.

You guys need to do a show." And so he got me on We Are the Millers because, like, he like wanted to support. You know, like, right. Also fill things with people who knows he can can handle it. But he was like, "You guys just need to do a show." So he produced my our show, Detroiters. That's how it.

That was born. Yeah, yeah. Sudeikis is like, "You guys are funny together. You should do a show." You guys. Should do a show, and we're like, yeah, and it's got to be about Detroit.

Now, did he know him from SNL before that as well, or no?

So when Tim went to SNL, you know, Jason was was there already. The famous, you know, Tesch brothers. Yeah, exactly. Two of them are basketball.

Well, actually, to not to put too fine of a point on it, I think it's bubba bubba basketball. Yeah, I stuttered. I said bubba bubba basketball. It's got to be, you know, just to be exact. But because you know, again, I'm just looking at you know, obviously.

Your your filmography and your TV shows. You you were Sudeikis obviously when you you know for for We're the Millers, but Ted Lasso at the end of the day, and he reached out to you for that role that netted you an Emmy award. It did, and like you you know our our buddies. But also wrote it, you know, and so they wrote the character with me in mind because they know they know that I'm Ghanaian, you know, my mother's Ghanaian, and so when Samuel Basanya came came on, I texted and I was like, "Hey, is this Sam named after me?" Of course, buddy, obviously. Is that right?

Yeah. So get out of here.

So named after you. Named after me. I did not.

So going on, they're like the idea is like, oh, what if I got to like be a person who's like mean to like myself because you know I'm pretty you know low key and jovial myself.

So like to get to go on there and kind of be the opposite, but reveal spoiler. Who was like a really fun kind of thing to do, Joe Kelly, but who's also a co-creator of Detroiters. Yes, who I texted, and he was like, "Buddy, obviously," but he wasn't humoring you. No, no, he literally was.

So I mean, unless to this day I've been saying that, and it has been humoring me this whole time. It's pretty amazing because again, you play Edwin Akufo, who's a billionaire who's trying to buy Sam's contract out, and he's a real bad. Yeah, real bad, real spoiled brat. Not a really great person as well. What was it like joining the show at the zenith?

You know, obviously, just season four just wrapped up. Yep. This week, as a matter of fact, yeah. And it's so great. I mean, this show is as great as it comes.

What What was it like? You know, as just as it was taking off, you're joining it. It's incredible because you know, like I watched that first season, like Ben, as if I'm like, oh, I'm just watching my buddy's show. You know, like you, you, you want to support your friends, so. You know, you're doing the favor of like watching their show, and it was like the first season of Ted Lasso, and I'm like watching and like crying and like enjoying.

I'm like, guys, you did it! You made the best show. And so then to get to go there the second season, I was, you know, I had to go. It was in the middle of pandemic and the shoots in in England. Yes, so I had to like we we call it be in the hotel room for like two weeks before we even started shooting.

Made myself a little crazy, which I think maybe helped the character. And then to be on that set, and everybody was just really like enjoyed being there, and then to get to go, and then be like a real jerk. In this like sea of of really kind people, was kind of like the opposite of like my experience on Veep, where like all the characters are like mean, and I come in as this like sweetheart, you know. It's the inverse. I only just now thought of that.

It is the perfect. By the way, it's it's true. You nailed it. You nailed it. And we'll get to Veep in a second.

But did you have a line as your character in in Ted Lasso? In Ted Lasso, so like that my my speech where I'm like threatening him if he doesn't come through that, like it was a. It's it's all like kind of there, but like I got to like improvise a lot in in the thing.

So I'm trying to think of like like I'm gonna like burn. I'm I'm gonna take a crap in all your thing, then burn down your childhood home, and then like this, you know. It's all just like I got to just have like a lot of fun. I got to choke the the I go, and I'm like, oh my god.

So they're like, do whatever you want.

So on my way out, exiting, I like choked the the mannequin on the way out. I think I kicked it. Maybe that's on that take, but I kicked it. I had a good time, and then the the set dresser was like, "Oh, not that." I didn't realize. I thought there was all.

And I've worked in TV before. I should have known better, right? But and then you know, you you win an Emmy award, and again, I'm not an Emmy historian, but I'm wondering if you are the only Emmy award winner. To mention the Detroit Lions in a an acceptance speech, are you? I think I am.

I'm willing to bet that I am. Yeah, you know, I I just don't know. You know, if anybody's like you know dropping Barry Sanders' name back, you know, in the 80s or any of the 90s and stuff like that. How how how are you feeling about your Lions four games into the season? Four games in, I I think the the the we're just kicking the rust off, you know.

If I feel, I I do feel, uh, really hopeful, you know, like uh. Jared's playing like as well as anybody. Anybody, correct? You know our offense is kicking. I think I don't.

I think if we get some help on on the defense, and that's the question is, you know, how's the defense going to play, and how's it going to hold up? And you know, usually the football gods are not done. Injuring players on that side of the football for the Detroit Lions, it seems to be an annual thing. It's you know they they talk they talk about the the Lions curse, and I and I I really do think this is this is the the years where it does lift, and and like I I'd rather have it be in the first part of the season and then like climb up to it instead of like watching it get good and then like climb up. You know what I mean?

Go of course down so.

So you know, and like we we've played, like I I really think that it's a couple of pieces will really charge everything because like just like they. What I think, like the most throws on any team has been against us. I agree. I mean, they've given up the most points in the first four weeks of the season. You know, it's tough.

It is tough. It is tough. But you're just two and two, and you never know who is who's who's your favorite one. I guess. Did you go to the Superdome?

I mean, the Silverdome when you were growing up? I did go to Silverdome as I was growing. It was harder to get there, so now I go to the to Ford Field all the time. Yeah, it's like an easier trip. But you know, I I.

I'm now. I shot a commercial with, and I'm now friends with Barry Sanders.

So that's my. I was at the game two weeks ago, and I was on the sidelines, and they put me up on the turntable. I'm like, like, like pictures like that. It's wild. As a fan, I get to like do that sort of thing.

Right. Megatron comes up to me and dabs me up. My friends like, what? What is that? What's your life?

I'm like, oh, you mean it's my friend Calvin. You know, pretty cool. It's pretty cool. It's congratulations on on all of that. Thank you.

Before I before I let you go, your favorite Veep moment that you were part of on that show is what? That's a great question. My favorite Veep moment, yes, sir. Um, that. Oh my God.

Okay, my favorite Veep moment. Was there was an episode where we are? It's like a deposition, you know, and we shot that essentially everything in two takes.

So a full episode we shot like in two days, where like everybody's getting deposed and to be in that room when Jonah's getting having the list of all of his insults, like like like tallied off, and like to have to like not laugh and like stuff was truly. It's It's testament to like how that show is written because the way that show is is like whenever like something wasn't like gelling entirely, they would go off and like the writers were there and they like kind of like if like an insult wasn't strong enough, they they go they huddle up and then they come back and like this is the new insult and it would be devastating and it would be about your actual physical appearance, you know? You're like, oh, that's the character, right? Yeah, I guess, but that is my face you're talking about. Nice.

So Jonah, so Tim Simon's took the majority of that, and it was really. And so you know you're shooting in two days, so you can't break, right? Like because that you're you're messing with the order of things, exactly. And like so much of that stuff is like happening just in real time, so you cannot mess. You can't laugh.

You can't mess up. But like that was like kind of the the fun part of that was like my favorite part. That and also on the same. In that same vein, it was the kind where we're in the car and there was an insult that was supposed to be for that's another Jonah insult one, and like we're like in the car and like ah that's not working. Went away, came back, like oh call him a bunch of Plato stuck on a flagpole, and I screamed laughing because it was accurate.

I can't. I missed the show. You know, and then there's obviously moments in real life you see all the time on social media where they'll set they'll put people will put it on there they'll post it but have the credits rolling in the music. Yep, and it it's it's like straight out of Veep. It's directly out of Veep, if not more strange.

That's I think that's the hard part about doing Veep. Was like, what are you going to do that's like stranger than like that's that's like that's stranger than reality? You know, we're like, oh. It became too hard to write. Like people would would write things like six months in advance, or film it six months in advance, and they'd be like, "Oh, was this inspired by this thing that happened last week?" I was like, "Well, no," but.

But you foreshadowed it. You foreshadowed exactly, predicted it, dare I say, or inspired. Oh my gosh, unbelievable!

Let's go to Jack in Kansas City. Jack, what's up, Jack? Jack, we'll give him another shot. Hey, everybody! Where were you before, Jack?

What happened? I I was a half second too late to unmute my my phone call, and then it was it was already too late by the time you guys moved. Hey, but we circle back on the WeatherTech fan line, Jack. What's on your mind, Jack? Dude, yesterday I saw you post on Instagram the fancy card that you signed for the Tops Allen and Ginter series.

Correct, that are coming out today. That's right. And I've never bought sports cards before. And I was out working today, and I stopped at a card shop, and they had a couple of the boxes there. All right.

I like I said, never bought them before. I did buy a box, a single box, and you, not your signed card, unfortunately. But you were the first card inside of the pack that I opened. What can I tell you? What can I tell you?

How about that? I'm the first card. I mean, look at you. Look at me. Yeah, yeah.

Look at me. First card.

So I was, I was pretty hyped. I put it in a sleeve and. You are my my favorite sports media person, so thank you, Jack. It means a lot to me to have this card. And Jack, if you want to send it here to the studio, I got so Jack.

You want to send it here to the studio? I'll sign it. Send it back. Happy to do it. You, you betcha.

I will, pal. I will have it shipped off tomorrow. I betcha. Thank you, sir. Thank you, Jack.

Jack in Kansas City. Love it. Um, there you go. I put him on hold. That's okay.

What do you mean, put him on hold?

Well, let's say here. I'll get the address. Huh? Oh, Adam will give. Adam will give me the address.

Come on, shake. Come on up here. Just take your time. Yeah. We only have a hard out in like three and a half minutes.

Contreras around the bases. Yeah, Wilson Contreras around the bases. Right there. There he is. Pull the mic in.

Pull the mic. Yeah. Pull the mic in. There you go. O'Shea, hello, America, ladies and gentlemen, contest press.

Nice hat, O'Shea. Is O'Shea Jackson Jr. and he walked in like it was a burden for him. I know, jeez, you don't want to be guys. Please, I missed you too.

Relax, relax. See now, bangs, and where he's wearing a Dodger hat is fine. Yeah, this guy. Fine, Jamoke. He's a Dodger fan.

No, he's not. I was not. I don't know if you watched the Rich Eisen show. Excuse me, he's a Dodger fan. Were you a Dodger fan when?

Hold on a second. Were you a Dodger fan when Matt Kemp was playing? Yeah. Okay. Were you a Dodger fan when Andre Ethier was playing?

Yeah. Were you a Dodger fan when Sean Green was playing?

Okay, so now we're. He's new to this. He is. He became a Dodger fan when Otani showed up two years ago. Seems to be.

Seems like he has great timing. Exactly. No. What he has is gazy timing. No.

No. That's real weak gazy timing.

Now, if he came in here, I'm with you wearing a Dodger hat.

Okay, thank you. You're you're you're you're a USC guy. Yeah. A Dodger guy. Yeah.

You're a Laker guy. Yeah. But LA guy. I've lived here more than half my life.

Okay, I'm an LA guy now.

Okay, I'm in. But you sound like you're sitting outside of Satrials. What you sound like? I'm not. I mean, I just did that reference.

You got to feel good about the Dodgers, man. I mean, last night. Dave Roberts is being interviewed in the middle of the game, or just a three three innings against Sale, and he's just like, "I feel really good about the at bats we put together over the first couple innings." They're hitting them hard. He's like, "They're hard outs." But he's saying he's saying that that Sale is being put under stress, a lot of pitches, right? And he's like, "And pitchers, you know, like Sale are, you know." We haven't gotten him to it yet, but if you keep putting pitchers under stress, it's going to happen.

Quite literally, the interview ends, and they Kiké Hernandez leaves a yard. What a wizard! Two nothing. By the way, he has as many postseason home runs in his career as Big Papi. Are you aware of that?

That's nuts. Seventeen. I saw the stat last night. Man, dude, just is a gamer in October. He's awesome.

But the fact that Roberts is like, I see it coming, and then it happens. Yeah, he is like one of the greatest button pushers around.

Now it helps to have Yamamoto on the mound too to make it what a sicko, Mister October. Yeah, damn, he's incredible. Oh, Yoshi.

So Dodgers look good again. Who's going tonight? It's Tyler Glass now against Trevor Miley. Oh my god, it's just gross, Richard. I mean, it's just another another under game.

Okay, I see what you're saying. Under the covers, under the covers, baby.

Okay, very good. I mean, last night was three-one. Man, tonight, tonight, man, it's just another one for me. I'm just, I'm not feeling great. What's up with the ceilings in baseball?

Oh, I don't know. I mean, I'm like. There's no way this happened back to back. It did with me. Happened in Milwaukee.

Then it happened in Tampa. It's been happening in Tampa all forever. Yeah, yeah, forever. It's gross. It's adding a rings, b rings, c rings, d ring.

Who the hell cares? You're adding another defender. Old jacket, green jacket. Whatever, but at least this is happening in the Bronx tonight. And obviously, the Guardian's trying to get up.

Max free tonight for you guys. Who's going? Who's on No Contest Wrestling, gents?
