Crossroads were at with the WNBA, with their commissioner, and with the league.

So we'll talk about that as well, as well as the game ahead tonight on Prime and a little bit of baseball floated in there as well. And Michael Irvin by, I mean, how can I not also let you guys know that Michael will be joining us in 20, 25 minutes' time?

So excited to have that as well. You bring in all my. Idols, all the heroes of my youth. Charles Barkley, after Dr. J became my favorite basketball player.

Mike Irvin, we know how I feel about the Cowboys.

So you should come in more often. I really should. You're not wrong. And you sent me a great picture of you and Charles. And by the way, it was without the locks.

I mean, it was a very rocking the baby fro. It was a baby fro. I couldn't find the color version. I don't know where it is. Send it to Hoskins.

We got to get that one up, please. We got to get it up. Can we take a call? Let's take a call before Shanae joins us.

Okay, let's go to. Who should we go to? It's all baseball.

So you want to go, Manny? Yeah, let's go Manny. He's been waiting a while. Hey, Manny, how are you? Buenos días caballeros ya señorita ashustar, how to bien, mani, comos tas.

Yeah, beautifully put.

Well, Yankees are out. I don't fuck the players, but Aaron Boone's answer when he was asked. uh as uh if he's gonna be returning as manager really rubbed me the wrong way. I'm a decanter. One of Mr.

Isaac's favorite words came to mind, along with several others. Schmecky? But I got my NASCAR, I got the Cowboys, I got the Avalanche playing tonight. Second thing I want to say. Is October 9?

What costume ideas do we have for this series all the way? Mr. Bachman, you and Cage have to have something planned with. Planned out already this year. Uncle TJ, I'm pretty sure he's got a plan.

Mr. Veltufo, I'm sure there's some Halloween disco party you're going to be DJing later on that time. But. The big question is. What is the Ivan family gonna dress up as?

Anyways, that's all I got. Let's be safe. It's a big kind. Let's watch some sports guys. Have a good old blow.

That is really well done. That is well done. That's how he does. Do you have a costume yet for Cage? Oh yeah, he's doing one of the the K-pop demon hunter people.

Oh, he g he and Taylor could dress up together. They are locked in. Him and a bunch of his classmates are, yeah, they're locked in. I think I'm finally in that world where I don't have to dress up anymore. Oh.

And you know, you know my friend Laura Wasser, she who loves to dress up for Halloween.

So every year she and I would dress up in full, full-fledged costume to go torture our kids on campus. And we've, I mean, we've we've run the gamut. There's been Cruella Deville. Um which was excellent. I I did the Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction.

We were all the Incredibles as a family one year. Oh, yeah. And that was the year I think Xander was Adam Ripon. But no, we don't have a costume this year. I think I get to sit this one out, which I'm not going to lie.

I thought maybe I'd be sad. I'm not that sad about it. That's pretty good. Take the day off. Did I take, was that higher register?

Yes, like, I'm not that sad about it. No, no, I was sad about it. What day is Halloween? Are we going to be on the air? Chris.

Thanks. What day of the week, idiot? You asked and I answered. Are we going to be on the air that day? No.

Well, yeah, it's a Friday. It's a Friday. I am never wearing a costume again. Not even a One ounce. If I had kids, I wouldn't do it.

I got egged as a kid wearing a costume, and that was the last time I wore a costume. Hold on, I'm going to send Hoskins a good shot. What were you wearing that got you egged? Dracula. All right.

No.

TJ, are we dressing up? Yeah, you know, I might repurpose. I've had my last two costumes were pretty cool. You know, remember, I was a little Jon Snow. Yeah one year and then uh Last year I was, what was last year?

Oh, it was Randy Watson. Jackson Randy. Oh, that's still Randy. Randy Watson.

So I don't know. I might repurpose that. Or O'Shea and I were talking, you know, our pod's Monday. We might do a little something on our Monday no-contest wrestling pod. I think you should come in full costume.

Why wouldn't you take that opportunity? It's fun to dress up. Are you wrestling? I said it last two years, my costumes were. Exceptional.

I went as the Night King one year, and I don't know if that's going to be top. That's good. No, you'll never top that. That's a cool question, that year we were actually really good because you were the Mets thumbs down guy. Uh Rich was Fatwa Larry from uh That's pretty good.

Do you remember seeing the Night King for the first time? Yeah, Game Thrones is sick. That was, that was terrible. Yeah, I didn't know that. And I wish I never watched it.

Yeah, I agree at the end. Yeah, I was I was Wonder Woman. I've been looking at that one. Are you looking at pictures of yourself right now? Why not?

What else am I going to do? What are some of your best ones as an adult? How about this one? There we go. Oh, nice.

I mean, that's a high-level Cruella Deville. That's at an elementary school, people. Did you scare the children? Slightly. I mean, maybe.

If you're going to do it, I need to be so judgmental.

Well, I mean, she was a scary character. Hold on. Hold on. This one. I got another one.

She doesn't scare you. Obviously, no evil things work. You scare a lot of people, Chris. You should know that about me. Yeah, I've been in your house.

In fact, I scare myself. What do you mean by that? All right, I got another one. I'm trying to find the one of Rich and the Incredibles costumes. That was a really good one.

You guys did a good job that year. I remember that. But why can't I find it? That was at your old house. Remember the year Rich dressed up like a banana and cursed out one of your neighbors?

Yes, I do remember that. That was great. Oh, here's one of Rich Unshaven. Should we go with that one? I mean, or shaven.

Shaven. This is very hot. Steinbrennery. Hold on, I'm going to send this over to Hoskins. Steinbrenner.

Steinbrennery. Remember when he used to make everybody shave? What? Oh, yeah. One year, well let's see.

We did the Spidey and Friends the one year. Yeah, I remember that one. That was fun. That was a figure a couple years ago. I'm trying to find Rich with the, you know, the banana.

I don't know if I have.

Well, the banana was what, two years ago? The banana. And what was the deal? It wasn't his neighbor. There's a neighborhood in the valley that closes down the street and all the houses decorate.

There was some beef. There was a little drama.

Well, somebody was, were they talking about the Yankees? No.

Oh, was he a Dodger fan? Might have been. And they were going by Kershaw's house, I think, wasn't it? I forget. It was baseball related.

But you know what it is? It's amazing how it's a kids' holiday and yet people still want to get in Rich's face to have an argument about something when it comes to baseball or what have you.

Well, he's a very aggressive Yankee fan. He is. He is, but it's also a kids' holiday, so take it down a notch. Should we take another call? Everyone should take it down.

Or should we just keep looking for pictures of ourselves? Let's take another call. Let's go to another disgruntled Yankee fan, Mike. Line four. Line four.

Boom. Joey in Pensacola. Joey, what's up? Hey, how you doing? How are you, Joey?

I'm doing well. I mean, it's just year after year filled with disappointment. defense poor hitting. I mean what do the Yankees have to do to get Another championship. I think that they just kind of have to restructure their roster.

They can't build it around the long ball. Like you said, like If you're not hitting a home run, then what are you doing? You're not scoring runs, you're not playing good defense. The relievers are mediocre. at best and we get crushed by the Blue Jays.

Yeah. Chris looks like he's not hurting over there at all.

Well, look, Joey, I like you already, I can tell. But we root for different teams.

So I think you should just extend Boone, keep him there forever. Obviously, Brian Cashman's doing a hell of a job. You know what I mean? Oh boy. He's clearly not doing a great job.

But I mean, what are we looking at? We're looking at four years in a row of just pure disappointment. Last year in the World Series getting absolutely blown out by the Dodgers. This year getting blown out. by the Blue Jays.

I will have to say though, Brockman, your Red Sox put up you know, a mediocre fight at best and for the wild cards. I mean, we did win ten out of the fourteen games this year against you guys. I mean, Joey, don't let him troll you. I mean, don't. What's it worth?

Because our best player got injured. We don't have the best player in baseball. Our best player is a rookie. You guys should have swept us. Joey, you call into the show.

You call into the show to be heard and understood. And then you get trolled by Chris Brockman. Let's go. Just get aggravated by Red Sox fans. They get on my nerves.

Speaking of welcome fans, I want to throw a shout out to the Secretary's Cup, the Merchant Marine Academy versus Coast Guard, playing at Fenway Park. November 15th, be there. It'll be on BSPN 8 Ocho. Let's go. Let's go.

Do you know what I appreciate about you, Joey? The minute I said that, I'm like, go get him. An accent came out. He was a great idea. He got aggressive.

I love it. That's what I like to hear. Thank you for the call, Joey. Thank you. Have a good one.

Don't let them troll you. Yeah, the Yankees lost Cole. It wasn't like they didn't lose a good player. Come on. Give him a little credit.

Yankees needed more than call, though. Give him a little credit. Boone's got to go. I'm sorry. Starting pitching wasn't the issue this year.

And I saw Boone do one of the greatest things in the history of bait, and I'm done. I'm done with him. I'm done. He's got to go. Did you see that?

Did you see the amazing that was going around where if he hadn't hit that home run, he'd basically be the Savannah bananas manager right now? I agree. I agree. That's his graded greatest moment is that home run. After that, It's like as a Yankee fan and Cashman, I'm sorry, these guys have lifetime contracts with the Yankees.

It feels like they're never going to leave that team. It's bad. Which, by the way, Cage Brockman, big fan of the Savannah Bananas.

So he could have been here. I may be a fan of them. I'm going to get a Savannah Banana. I'm getting one of their hats. I'm done with the Yankees.

I'm done. I'm seriously done. I'm legitimately over this. Crap. That we've dealt with as a Yankee fan.

They're very weird. They're not a Yankee fan anymore. That's why, because they stink. They stink. They're terrible.

At least I come to a team that's actually like, they're good, the Dodgers. I'll take the Dodgers. I'm allowed. Good job, Mike. Oh my God.

What a take. Mike just started investing in Bitcoin, too. I mean, what it takes. Take a call or talk to WNBA. What should we do?

What should we do? Whatever you want to do, Suze. I mean, I kind of want to talk just for a second. I mean, TJ and I can't. Cared about watching that game last night and watching AJ Wilson absolutely.

Series is 3-0. I mean, the Aces have been on an incredible run the last couple months. And I saw this on ESPN last night. I think it was on SVP's show. an incredible graphic about Asia Wilson and Bill Russell.

About putting together MVPs and championships in a four-year cycle. And so she will be the only person on a graphic should she get crowned on Friday. To have as many MVPs and as many crowns. as the great Bill Russell. And can you imagine like what a what a Platform that is to be on.

Because we watched her last night, and the fact of the matter is: how do you guard? Asia Wilson. It's downright impossible. The woman just goes straight up and over everything, and she has an answer for everything. And if you leave her out, In the key, she's going to hit it.

If you let her penetrate inside, she's going to hit it. There's nothing she seemingly couldn't do in this game last night, TJ. What is who is on the WNBA Mount Rushmore and is Asia Wilson on it, TJ? Oh, that is a great question. That's a good question.

Because off the top of your head, you think about someone like OG's. You gotta go like Cynthia Krishna. Cynthia Krispie. She's got to be on there. Who's there?

Lisa Leslie. Lisa Leslie, Maya Moore. Oh, man. Rebecca Lobo? Doesn't she have to be a bad person?

I think Diana. I think in terms of being a trailblazer and a pioneer for when the league started, but if you actually look at the career, then I don't think you put Rebecca Lobo on the Mount Rushmore of WNBC. I feel like, though, I feel like she became a household name that she translated a lot of the interest. I feel like she was very early out there. She was the first of those econ stars, too.

So, but I like I said, if I'm going just strictly on base upon What they did in WNBA, I don't I don't think. And there's I'm sure there's people out there who Better suited to answer that than me, but I would say you'd have to start with Cynthia Cooper. Look, the Houston Comets won. First four. WNBA championship.

So, you know, you put her in there. Um Cheryl Swoops. You know, if you're gonna go with the comments, maybe Tina Thompson, she was on those teams.

So there's there's a lot. You know, a lot a lot of people really start paying attention to the league once Caitlin got there, but This league had a history. Long before Sue Bird has to be on, has to be, I think, on Diane Brischerman. Ta Rossi, like, my goodness, there are so many great women. You can't just whittle it down to four.

Yeah, there are so many great women that, unfortunately, people who. Talk WNBA now and argue, and are very much follow one player they missed out or don't know about.

Some tremendous women that ball, you know. Yeah, AJ Wilson. Laura Jackson. I mean, gracious. AJ Wilson is already a four-time MVP, and this is going to be what championship for them?

Three if they close this out? Is that right? This would be the third. What do you mean? Candice Parker.

Right, Candice Parker. Yeah. Goodness. There's a lot. I know, there's a lot.

Tamika catching was like, you know. Yeah, this would be their third in four years. Yeah. Now, let me ask you a metaphysical question. Let's do it.

Since we said, just go with me here. Since we said this is the Mount Rushmore, we just named like eight or nine people. You have to have the same amount of people as on Mount Rushmore to make it a question about Mount Rushmore. Here's the deal. What is it like there would do?

The John Madden turkey. You know how John Madden's turkey always had like six or eight legs? Turducken. Turducken. So it's just like, you know, it's whatever you want it to be.

I think everyone does a Mount Rushmore list, but I feel like most of those lists are usually four or five. You know, but it's just the Mount Rushmore because I think in your mind, you kind of know what that means. But shouldn't we be literal with it then? I mean, sure, but that makes it tough. I know.

I know. We actually asked. Just four. Just four players on this. That's tough.

He's asking a lot of us over here to have to think. I mean, come on. All right, fine. Let's take a break when we come back. Michael Irvin, the playmaker.

He never fails to show up. Look at that pink suit, too. Dang. He got so angry on the phone yesterday. Wait till I tell you all about it.

The Rich Eisen Show Podcast. Back to the Rich Eisen Show, right here on ESPN Radio. We are brought to you by Progressive Insurance. And when I make a phone call to Michael Irvin, he always answers for me. And I appreciate that so very much.

The Playmaker himself, the Hall of Famer, and Taylor Madden Lee Eisen Scott Father, Michael Irvin. Hey Mike, how are ya? Hey, you know I love you. I love you. I love your life.

I gotta say it that way because Dion gets mad when you say I love you to death. You know what I mean? But I love you to life. And I will always love you soon, wherever you call. I will always be here.

Hey, Mike, hey, man, that was such a great moment we had on this show. You know what I mean? And yeah, you were putting it in. I heard what you said too, Mike. You gotta continue that work now.

You gotta get back on it. Cause right now, look, like he was just spoken, talking about Deion. All our guys our age, yep, they're going through something. I'm beating that gym up every day, trying to stay right here, if you know what I mean. Yes, you are.

Yes, you are. Now, speaking of Dion, when I called you yesterday. Yeah. You're like, Seuss, and I love this because you're like, See, hold on a second. All right.

And then you went off on some podcaster who had the audacity to say that maybe Dion couldn't play against the modern-day guys out there. And you. I mean I was you heard me I was howling on the phone Give the boys a little bit of a sample of what you were saying out there.

Well, and seriously, Susie, you you called me right when okay, I get up in the morning and I gotta go through my thing before I turn on any social media, you know, my little devotion. Dion does it. We all, you know, just make sure we set our minds for the day. And then and then even coming right out of my devotion and all of that. I turn on it and this is boom right here.

Dion couldn't, I don't know if he can cover the guys today, you know, and then went on to talk about, they went on to talk about.

Well, these guys today are just too fast. They're too fast. And then they say, you know, the guys that used to play, they were not that fast. They're going to pick a picture of me, they put my image. and Jerry Rice image up.

So, yeah, I guess my devotion didn't work that much. I was straight off. I went straight off about that. Because, really, man, you guys know I love the game, and we're continuing to pass down the game and teach the game to other people. But don't try to take away.

What we've accomplished in the game. You know what I mean? Like, there was a time when this game was different. I love the safety rules and all of that that they've made so everybody just stays healthy. But I played at a different time and like I said on that video I I had to go in and play with pain live and get comfortable with pain something they will never know about.

That's the reality of it. I mean, think about it, Suze. When we were at ESPN working together, we used to have a show called Jacked Up this week. Right, you got Jack up. That means.

The heart achieved, we love that show. That show was the best. With Tom Jackson, and we would tell that Jackson, Tom Jackson, jacked up. We took the biggest hits and displayed them every week on TV. Would people get knocked out?

That's right. That's right. Right, that that was that was that was the Making up jacked out, jacked up. They wouldn't even live like that today. That's the element that we had to go make catch passes in.

So don't tell me about somebody basically playing touch football Oh, and then try to put down what I did, what I had to go and Make love to pain like that. And I highly suggest that anybody who's interested listen to your podcast, Mike, because let me tell you something: it was one take, and it was a thing of beauty. Yeah, and it was worth it because you called as soon as I was getting into it. I said, Hold on, Super. Hold on.

I just left you on the phone while I went off. I was like, oh, no. And then got back to it. I said, What's up, baby? What's up?

I said, Oh, no, no. That's exactly what I need. I need you. I need that. What did you just do?

I need that. I'll call you tomorrow. Only without all the F-bombs. I think I said without all the F-bombs, but without F-bombs. You talk about teaching, you talk about.

setting the table for all these guys. What would you say to AJ Brown now? I love A.J. Brown's grit and I love his fight.

Now, I would say it to the whole organization. you need this fight. to be for you. You don't need his fight to be against you. You know what I'm saying?

So I think they're trying to get in that place where they're working together. They love him because of that fight. You see how he takes that ball away from defensive backs. That's the fight within him.

So you gotta manage the fight. because it's a great ally. But it's all, you know, it's not so good when it's going against you.

So you work it out with AJ. You talk about he just wants to be loved and know how important he is. Think about this, guys. Why are receivers? We're the most dependent independent because we sit way out wide.

dependent person in the world. That Oxymoron right there. Makes you, you know. Makes it kind of strange.

So, yeah, you gotta let him know he's important. To all of the process. And they did it last week. They started trying to get him the ball early, make sure he feels a part of something. Michael Irvin joining us right here on The Rich Eisen Show, Susie Schuster in for Rich.

Michael, who is the. receiver out there right now or any player that you think most needs your arm around their shoulder right now. But that's interesting. That's interesting 'cause uh foot football brains and So many different So many different challenges, you know, physically, emotionally, and then you're going through so many different challenges. personally all in your life and all the people that you have around you.

So we can't even possibly know. What everybody's going through. I tell you what my heart goes out to, it's that situation, and he's not playing anymore, but that Mark Sanchez is in right now. You know, I was saying to some people, you you got it mark mark mark's been around a long time. You know, and we've we've seen Mark.

Mark grew up right in front of us, and we've never heard anything like this kind of behavior.

So I was praying, hoping that he's okay because something had to trigger this kind of behavior. I'm praying for the guy that. Is injured and certainly praying for Mark and hoping he's okay. Michael Irvin right here on the Rich Eisen Show. And we say that because, you know, we all play.

If we play football, you don't know something going on. With them, you know what I mean? That would make somebody just kind of go at somebody like that or how they're talking about it right now.

So, you know, just as a brother. Um I just I just want to make sure somebody's checking up on them. Yeah, I hear you. And we also think about the family as well of the gentleman who suffered in the altercation with Mark Sanchez as well. Michael, I will shift it back to the field itself, and I'm just curious about who you have your eye on both in the NFC and in the EFC.

But it let me tell you what's so great And I'll tell you, let me give you two teams. that I mean Really, really taking some steps in the AFC when you look at like Jacksonville. I'll go Indy first. Let's go Indy because Jacksonville is the sexier story because of Travis Hunter and Travis Lawrence. But Indy.

And he's making a step with when he left New York and all of those hard things that New York has put Daniel Jones through. He goes over and become Indiana Jones and goes off. You know what I'm saying?

So there's a whole nother thing over there. That I love seeing that story. And all of those stories. Think about all of those quarterbacks that have left New York, not just Indiana Jones, you know, Sam Donald, Geno Smith, all. Of them that have left New York, and having a good career somewhere else.

I keep telling New Yorkers. Maybe y'all should lighten up a little bit. You're too hard on people. You so hard on people, you made Jerry put up his thumb. That really wasn't his thumb.

You know what you said.

Okay, well, but Jerry said he put up a thumb. He thought it was a thumb. That is a very expensive thumb that he fit there, Michael. Very expensive though. But I can't believe.

Jerry said, I thought that was the thumb R. Oh, it really, you know. I was telling some guys on another podcast, it reminds me of my. But an uncle I grew up in, grew up with, you know, when he gets caught and then he looks you right in the eye and says, boy, I've been paying all these bills around here to take care of you.

Now, who are you going to believe? Me or your lying eyes? You know what I'm saying?

Right. That was a very, very $250,000 expensive thumb that he had there. That's an expensive thumb. Our friend Stephen A. said that Dak is his leading character.

Wait, wait, wait, we should talk about Jacksonville, too.

Okay, let's go. Let's go back. I'm happy to talk about that. I wanted to finish that up. Let's go.

Because I think Jacksonville. That step they made the other night with the Chiefs too is big. And I can see, I know he's a young kid, and I remember, I remember. Going into Dallas early on, I can see what Travis Hunter brings to Jacksonville. You know, because he's coming with all of the hoopla and the Heisman and the two-way player.

I feel like that takes a little bit of pressure off of Travel Lawrence to have to carry the star. Of the team all by himself. And I think we'll see a better Travel Lawrence from it. And then a maturing Travel Lawrence came up out of. beating Andy Reed and the GOATs, the young goat anyway, and Patrick Mahomes, you know, and the way they won that game.

They're down 14.

So right now, Jacksonville said, oh, I guess we're not. I guess we're not ready. We thought we were ready. You know, we came into this game thinking we were ready, only at one loss.

Now we're down 14. I guess we've been measured by champ, but then they reel off 21 straight and win late. That's what Patrick Mahomes does. You know, I just think I see some.

Some coming out party in Jacksonville, also. First of all, every time the ball is anywhere near Travis Hunter is the most exciting moment in the game. I mean, it's every time there's a possibility he's near the ball, there is electricity. That's number one. Number two, at the end of the game, when Trevor Lawrence is there, he.

Steps on it was his center's center's foot. Trips, goes down, scrambles up, doesn't get hit, rolls around to the right, and then finds a way into the end zone. Did you see that happening or did you think the play was over? I mean it is so insane.

So I think and that's why I say it wow. Because if we're sitting there saying that, that's what they're thinking. And it's a confidence that you build. You're like, oh my God, I can't believe that. And you start believing.

Oh man, this is our year. We're supposed to do something. We just did that. in that kind of situation. And still came up with the victory.

So, yeah, I'm telling you, a man's. a man's mentality. Becomes his real reality. And I love seeing that confidence. You just said it.

You just said it. You're expecting something when Travis Hunter steps on the field. That's right. They're expecting something when he steps on the field, and that gives you hope. And I always tell people.

Hope will dictate effort. The more hope you got... The more effort you give. I'm so curious then, we'll talk about Dak in a second, but you talk about confidence and how that injects into a player's personality. Looking at Baker Mayfield now, Years ago, when he was out there and he was cocky and brash, people were saying, He's cocky, he's brash, it's not ready for this.

Now you see it, and it's confidence and swagger.

So, how have you seen how he has changed and also like what he got for being who he was back then versus how he is heralded now? What? And it's an interesting point that you said how Baker has changed. I myself personally look at the perspectives we put on Baker. best change.

You see what I mean? Baker had that same mentality coming into Cleveland. But but Okay, now lifting Cleveland up. and getting to Cleveland there was a hard chore. And we would not w w we we we we went after him.

Because he had this big bold personality, and they didn't result in victories. I went through that my rookie year, and it takes something. Everybody I start believing to turn it around. And Cleveland's heart is still going through hard times. But Baker goes somewhere else where these guys are, yeah, okay, let's give him a shot.

He's the same dude, but he's winning. He's winning now. He's more mature now. He knows how to handle. He knows in football now it's not just about me making.

the great play or the big play. It's also about me not messing up and making the dumb play.

Now all of that bold and brass stuff. Can be seen as confidence and cocking because you're not doing the dumb stuff. Because you learn, I just sometimes got to get out of a plate. Yeah. But yeah, but he's right there.

And you give him the players he has. And that that that young child, let me wait. I love Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and and all of that, but that a mecca Boy. I I used to have rules.

Well when I was probably playing with Troy. I used to say when Troy throw, I go. My job is not ever to let them find out.

Somebody else can grab these passes from Troy. Like me, and they can pay them way less than me, that's gonna be a problem. You see what I'm saying? In America, right now.

Well, he's staying his case to be, you know, that big-time next receiver in the NFL. He is indeed. All right, before I let you go, I'll go back to that Stephen A. Calling Dak. MVP candidate.

What do you think of that? Oh, well, no, after I told him that's how Dak had been playing, he begrudgingly got to that. And it still stings him to even say that, but reality must be spoken. And I gotta give my brother some credit.

Sometimes it's hard to look the truth in the face. And then speak it. You know what I mean? Look at it, I don't even do politics. I don't even do politics, so I'm gonna stay off that analogy.

You know what I'm saying?

I was about to do some politics, but I'm gonna stay off that analogy just to keep it down the middle. But yeah, I appreciate him acknowledging how Dak is playing, and he really is. I also see something. And George Pickens, I, you know. I think George Pickens has either phenomenal talent.

Phenomenal talent. But moving from number two to becoming a number one receiver is not an easy thing. And he stepped in and he's made some plays. And you know, and I think he's still not anywhere near his ceiling. you know, as far as the plays he making, he makes And you get that.

George Pickens. Floor Norway. Travel Lord doing what he's doing.

Now you add CeeDee Lamb back to that. When he gets healthy. That's scary. And Dallas can have a shot at doing it. It's just that they gotta be scoring 35 to 40 points a game.

Unless the defense shows up, like it showed up last week, but we can't, I don't know, expect that right now. Who else are you looking at for your MVP? Guy is playing right now heading into week six.

Well, we just talked about him in Baker. Baker's playing, like, you know, hey, them VP2 now. You gotta look at it and say, hey, those two guys. right there and Baker has the better record right now. The better record, overall record, and winning his ultimate, the ultimate judge on a lot of things.

But yeah, I will put Baker Mayfield up there.

Alright, I love it. Mike, you always answer the phone for me. I told Liz I'd get you off at forty, so I'm going to say goodbye to you, but I'll look for my call coming up. Always there. I appreciate you.

I appreciate you. I love you, my sis. Love you, love you. Love you back. Thanks very much.

Michael Owens, the playmaker, right here. It's worth going, man. I was looking at myself when we were looking at the whole video right there. I was like, man. You know, I look good right then.

And I look good right now. I know what I'm doing. I'm getting on this thing. I'm gonna hold on. That's what I'm gonna do.

All right, but Mike, Mike, I always say this: like, I don't know if you remember this. I'm sure you do. When you spoke at Taylor's baby naming. And Mike was there in our house and he's talking it was just a beautiful speech. And you've never seen more women staring at Michael, who happened to wear a skin-tight sweater that day.

And he's talking and he's holding Taylor. And I think every woman in the room was like, What's that you say, Mike? What's that? What's that? The playmaker.

He's the playmaker. Be quiet. Michael's talking. He'd been making plays. Oh, he makes sense.

That really was, and all jokes aside. one of the greatest moments. of my life sharing in that moment. And I talk to you guys about that because, and I know my sand, I talk to you guys about how. you know We crossing cultures like that.

That I see, you know, you guys in your culture, you do that baby naming series. Ceremony, where you talk about the name of the baby and what it means. And then you do our misfortunes and all of these things.

So, all of this stuff brings the kid back to. to the base Of who he or she is. We, as African Americans, we spend money, we do these parties, but we call them beta showers. In Sweet 16s, there's no base bringing back to that.

So, you know, what the Bible says: raise the kid up in the way, and if they stray, they shall come. What do we have to come back to after straying? Because we just wasted the money on a baby shower in a sweet 16.

Well, we should be partaking in these cultures: baby namings and barmistos, where you're telling people. Who they really are. That's just me. I'm gonna let that go. But it wasn't.

Well, let me always say it. Just add the G at the end of Urban, and then you're basically one of us. That's how I started the whole speech. They always said Michael Irvine.

So it was fitting for me to be sitting and speaking in this Jewish community right there.

Well, come on, save the date, August 29th, next year. That's my last one.

So, Mike, I love you. I love you too. I love you too. God bless you guys. All right, Irv.

You know, you just never know what you're going to get.

Sometimes you just get a little bit of Bible verse, and sometimes you go next level. I got to kick it with Irv a little bit a few weeks ago in Vegas for the Canelo Crawford fight. He sat right in front of me, and it went Charlie Sheen and Irv right in front of me. Oh, my goodness. Yo, this is amazing, man.

And yeah, it was a good time. When Charlie was on the show last week, did he talk to you guys about how he used to watch Sports Center over and over and over again? He said Rich was part of the crew without any of the essentially any of the fallout from being part of his crew because he used to repeat what Rich was saying because they just watched the episode over and over and over again. That is so crazy. He came home from doing that show and he was like, that was.

One of the most fun interviews I've ever done, and I can't believe Charlie Gene was on my show. Yeah, it was pretty, it was kind of surreal. It was kind of great. We've had many moments like that, though, here. Yeah, yeah, we've had a lot, but there's a lot more to go, TJ.

We're not done yet. True, it's just the beginning. Yeah, we're not done yet. All right, when we come back, we're going to wrap up this episode of The Rich Eisen Show, Tommy P in tomorrow. Unless I beat him to it.

Wow. The Rich Eisen Show, the podcast. Closing up this edition of The Rich Eisen Show, Susie Schuster in for Rich Eisen. Tom Pellisero winging it over here right now to sit in here tomorrow. And TJ, you just, I mean, what if those bags get lost?

I mean, then you got to come back to work tomorrow. You know what I'm saying?

Come back to sit on camera?

Okay, I will be available. You come back home like your husband did. You know, this is your home. Yeah, thank you. Thank you for that, TJ.

And you're not just saying that because I bring you donuts. No, no, no, no. But you do.

So, I mean, what do you think Tom's going to bring tomorrow? Because you know, he was kind of feeling the heat a little bit. He also gave you this, like, yeah, those guys don't need any more fries. And then he kind of like dumped on us. Yeah.

Yeah, like we were overweight. Wow, maybe we should stop saying that. No, because we do kind of clown him a lot when we find out he hasn't seen a movie.

So we, we, it's usually on a text chain that we. We kind of give Tom crap. Is that after anything, Susie? After you guys stare at him adoringly when he runs his fingers through his lashes, you have envy like those guys do, though. True.

You know, I'm like, cool for him. I'm just saying I don't have your issues, so I can't relate to it. But um But you know, there's always hope for you guys. Maybe not. Yeah.

You look pretty kind of out here. Brockman can grow some hair if he just chooses not to. I'm so afraid right now because I'm playing with a loose cannon over there. This is probably not a smart lane for me to go down, so instead, I'll talk to you about. Progressive Insurance, because I'm sure they were like, God, please, please make a segue like that when Chris Brockman is just shooting daggers at me.

Because ESPN Radio is presented by Progressive Insurance, which apparently I need after lighting that fire. Division one starts tonight. We're excited. We've got a big season ahead of us. I also have a tennis match ahead of me today. Oh, yeah.

Taylor's got the rare back-to-back.

So, tennis at 3:15. Basketball at seven. Will I make the run? You're damn straight. Come on, let's go.

Let's go. So, yeah, I mean, great show today. Charles was in fantastic form. Michael's always low energy. I'm always worried about the low energy factor about that.

Mike is swole. Oh, yeah. Okay. He still sweats. Man.

Who does Miami play this weekend? Because one of the highlights of watching any Hurricanes game now is just seeing Irv on the sideline going nuts and losing it after every big play. Oh, Rich was desperate for me to ask him about how much water weight he loses every weekend going up and down the sideline. Yeah, that's what I mean. A couple pounds for sure.

He's still playing. What what makes you the most passionate of any sport that you can watch? What team in particular is going to get up there and make you want to pass out? Oh, oh man. Uh m probably Red Sox and Celtics are probably neck and neck there, yeah.

Mikey, you don't have a team, so you wouldn't say. If you see the Dodgers, I'm going to cut you. I'm not saying anything. And he has a knife next to him, so. He does.

I'm scared. No, for me, there's, of course, I love just. Being behind a mixing board, mixing stuff. I know you too.

So for me, it's like you know that. You've known me longer. By the way, Notre Dame, Mike. No, I don't I'm not a Notre Dame fan as much as I used to be. Once my father passed away, I kinda...

Spring scene concert. Oh the Come on. That's what brings it out of you. Yeah. I get it.

We were, did you hear the Bon Jovi Spring Scene story yesterday? That was amazing. Oh my gosh.

Now we're in the daddy Jersey turpine. I was just going to say, if we ever met, like, if me or you ever, like, we were in the place that they come in. We would go nuts. I'd be like, oh my God, this is Bon Jovi and Springsteen together. That was one of the best stories.

And if you missed that story, you can watch it on Rich's YouTube channel because it really was a great story, especially if you love New Jersey music. We got under a minute. What's yours? What's yours? I got to be honest.

I think I'm at the stage now where. I used to be that way over the Cowboys. And then one year, I literally, I was driving home from a friend's house. I was the type who, a loss on Sunday would keep me mad till Wednesday, like legit. And I was driving home from a friend's house after a loss one day, and I literally looked in my rear view.

I was like, what's wrong with you?

So I've kind of taken it. I don't get so hyped. I enjoy sports in my teams, but I don't have that reaction as much anymore. You know, there's moments for sure, but overall, I'm kind of chill now. Yeah, I hear you.

It used to be. For me, it was all TB12 all the time. Let's go, Pats. Speaking of which, we got through this show, we didn't even talk about Bill Belichick and UNC.
