Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner. And your phone calls, latest news, and more. And now, it's Rich Eisen.
Well, hey, everybody. Welcome to this Friday edition of the Rich Eisen Show from Sao Paulo, Brazil. We are right here inside Arena Corinthians, where tonight the Chiefs and the Chargers will have at it. It'll be me and Kurt Warner in this very booth from which I am broadcasting right now on Disney Plus, on the ESPN app everywhere, and on ESPN Radio presented by Progressive Insurance. We say hello to everybody out there who's listening us on satellite radio since this is, you know, global, international, Sirius XM Channel 80.
Hello to you. And hello to the guys in the studio, Chris Brockman and also TJ Jefferson and my guy Jay Felly, all of. in Los Angeles, California, hanging out. 844-204-Rich is the number to dial. How are you guys doing?
What's going on, gents? Rich, what up, man? Great to see you, dude. Glad the football's back. And I can report: nobody has spit on anyone in here so far.
That's good to know. Good to know. That's good to know. That's good to know. That's one way, one would say, a way for a season to start you didn't see coming.
TJ Jefferson, your Dallas Cowboys acquitted themselves quite well last night. We're going to talk about all of it on this show, not just with you at 844-204-Rich. Is the number to dial, but also with Dan Orlofsky of ESPN. He's going to be joining us, I believe, from a car on the Merritt Parkway. That's one way to keep things global.
He's going to be in a car in the Merritt Parkway or I-84. I'm sitting here in San Paulo, Brazil, with the stadium behind me where the Chiefs and the Chargers are going to play tonight on an international global broadcast on YouTube. That's bringing people together. Tom Pellisero with his flow is going to be joining us in hour number three to set us up on the rest of week number one. I've got my top five games that I'm looking forward to in week one.
It's also our Friday staple, What's More Likely Coming Up? Sneaky Good Games. Chris Brockman's going to make you hard-earned American dollars by telling you his gambling advice, which means you might have less American dollars by the end of his gambling advice. That's coming up later on this program. Wow.
All of us hanging out together on this show. And I got to tell you, it is quite a scene here behind me and with this field. It looks beautiful. I know there's a lot of concern about this field. Later on, I'm going down there, being walked through by the National Football League that took care of the sod here way back in the summer.
I've got a little bit of a story to tell you about that later on in this three-hour show. But it is, if you're watching on Disney Plus or the ESPN app everywhere. It looks beautiful behind me, and I know the Chiefs end zone is behind me as opposed to the Chargers' one to my left. That was not. intentional just the way that the NBC crew set things up for me and us here.
So no complaints back in the studio or wherever you are if there is Chiefs fatigue. And you'll also get a sense of what it's like before a game Because there's going to be sound checks throughout this show. There's going to be different folks out there on the field. I don't know what's going to happen, but it's the full experience. I love it.
So. Just giving everyone a heads up on the way the next year. You look great, you sound great. We're ready to go. Thank you, come on.
Let's sir. All right. I should. I need to sit up straight a little bit more. I'm still a little jet-lagged.
And I'm going to be in this booth all the way until one in the morning local time.
So I'm setting up shop here in the State Arena Corinthians. No, I'm flying home right after the game. Going straight to the airport. Don't ask. 844-204-Rich is the number to tell them.
Okay.
Now then. Let's break down the Thursday night opener in Philadelphia that we saw on NBC. And I guess it was all about liquid. You know, coming from people's mouths in the sky, you know, in quarter number one. Quarter number three.
You know, it started in a way that, I'll say it, I did not expect to rate. And it started with a kickoff and a cartoff. And then a send-off. I've never seen a season start that way. As a matter of fact, I've got a stat about Jalen Carter being sent off the field in a week one game that's coming up when we break down that segment in full.
But the reason why I bring this up. To start the program, obviously, the whole country is talking about what happened with Jalen Carter and Dak Prescott and their Seinfeld memes everywhere because we didn't find out till the second half that there was a second spitter involved. But Jalen Carter being sent off for the Philadelphia Eagles. right before the first snap of the game. 100% affected the game.
In so many different ways, from the way that the Cowboys were able to move the ball up and down the field. from the way that Javante Williams was being able to run between the tackles. from the way that the Eagles were no doubt reeling from that. Offensively, maybe towards the end of the half when they were unable to keep things maybe going with Jalen Hurts. It just seemed to me that the way this played out The Eagles were reeling, not just on defense, but just trying to get a sense.
of normalcy. They just got a flag raise that they weren't out there for, but they raised the banner, and then the season starts so wildly. That the Cowboys were able to take advantage of it. And then the Eagles, as we all know. um won this game.
with AJ Brown not targeted until the fourth quarter. And they got a game in which Jahan Dotson wound up being their leading. receiver. They won this game. With Saquon Barkley.
Coming up with just 60 yards rushing. Fewest yards in a rush game since week six of last year. And he had more than 60 rushing yards in all but one game in 2024. Cleveland was the team. that held him to that one non-60 yard rush game.
in 2024.
So Barkley wasn't going off. The defense was missing its top player. Jahan Dotson was their leading receiver. If you had told the Dallas Cowboys before this game that they would be able to affect all that, to yes, stop the run. With Kenny Clark.
If you told the Cowboys before the game that they were going to be able to do that, they would have signed for it. And we all would have thought the Philadelphia Eagles were going to lose this home opener. and banner raise night. in front of their home fans, and yet They did not. And they lost Landon Dickerson after.
The weather delay, an hour-long weather delay that stopped all the scoring. And did For Dickerson Cause his back to tighten up.
So they were missing one of their top offensive linemen. which is why it leads me to say this. The Philadelphia Eagles going into this season We're looking about What can stop them? Who can stop them? Is it the Lions?
Is it the Packers? Is it going to be... Any team from the NFC West? Could it be the Buccaneers? It's kind of their kryptonite in a way.
Could it be the commanders? Could it be anybody else that I'm not naming right now in the NFC? And at the end of the day, It very well could be the Philadelphia Eagles stopping them, with Jalen Carter doing something insanely stupid.
something that happens on an injury front that they can't obviously control. Is it going to be something? Completely unforeseen that could stop the Philadelphia Eagles. from winning A football game. The negative side, obviously, for the Philadelphia Eagles is that they are the first team that's defending a Super Bowl title to play 10 teams from the previous year's playoff field.
in the upcoming title defense regular season and last night was not one of those 10 teams, as we all know. The Dallas Cowboys did not. Famously make the playoffs last year.
So, yes, you could sit here and say they struggled against the team that didn't make the playoffs last year. That could be, wait for it, maybe. improved. But they also had things happen to them. that they were also self-inflicted.
that caused them to maybe lose a game at home.
Now. You could sit here and say they were lucky that CeeDee Lamb dropped a couple of balls that he's not going to drop in the future. But that also puts them in the category of last year's Kansas City Chiefs, where you're sitting there thinking, well, they're lucky. You got some help from the refs every now and then. Last night, obviously, Philadelphia Eagles fans seeing Jalen Carter sent off before a single snap of football.
They would think that maybe the f The referees weren't their best friend last night. But they didn't play a perfect game. And they went ahead. And one Anyway. And that is the mark of a champion, but it is also signs of what can stop them this year.
And the answer is maybe not another team. Maybe not someone in the AFC that they play. They play the Kansas City Chiefs, the team whose logo is right behind my right shoulder next. in Kansas City, which makes this game pretty darn big. for the Chiefs to win tonight here in Brazil.
But the Philadelphia Eagles made mistakes last night. Can they clean them up? Yes. But they're also showing what can stand in their way of another championship while showing at the same time. that they're equally as resilient to win it all.
And I think that's why Jalen Hurts went up and turned a question he was asked about: did the Cowboys do anything to take A.J. Brown away? Again, zero targets for their top wide receiver all the way until the final drive of the game. And he was the one who picked up a massive. reception to lead to a third down that Jalen Hurts picked up to essentially put the game on ice last night.
He turned that Opportunity. Into A chance to maybe calm anything that could be happening already after week one in that locker room. I wouldn't say so. I think they were. just doing a really good job of matching things in coverage and Um, you know, there's some things we gotta be better at and You know, great job by him staying patient and in the big moment, right, making a play.
Most important play of the game in my eyes, and then we're able to get ourselves in a position to. convert that third down and wind down the clock, so great play by him. Yeah.
So It wasn't anything the other team did. They got to clean some things up. And kudos to A.J. Brown for being patient. Which is a way of him basically saying, I I understand there's some inner excellence Zen that's at play right here with his top wide receiver.
Zero targets in the fourth quarter. If they lost that game, man would be talking about that today. If they lost that game, we would be talking about Jalen Carter. 100% costing his team on the night. that they were raising the banner rather than just a boneheaded move that could cause him to be suspended.
further. which would obviously make the Kansas City Chiefs quite happy if they don't have to see Jalen Carter. in week two on a Sunday in Arrowhead. But He's basically saying Kudos to this guy for remaining calm. and he's being the leader.
that they need him to be. Not just Off the field and at the podium. Gents, do you know with his two rushing touchdowns last night? He's now too clear of LaDanian Tomlinson. For the most two-plus rushing touchdown games and primetime contests in the history of the National Football League.
Do you know who he trails? By one with eight now. Prime Time Games. I mean, I'm just going to shoot for the top, and I'm going to say Emmett or Barry. Yeah, I was going to say one of those two guys, yeah.
You are correct. It is Emmett Smith with nine. And those two rushing touchdowns were the ones that matched Javante Williams' touchdowns with Jalen Carter being out. Um the first half last night and then He went 19 of 23 for 152 passing yards, and then... He picked up the final first down to put the game on ice.
Gents. That is the way Jalen Hurts follows up his Super Bowl MVP campaign off of a very impressive postseason. That is the way you also put something in the mind's eye of MVP voters in just week number one, where he saved some bacon last night with all of the mistakes. that were going on. in Philadelphia and that's my opinion.
Of the Philadelphia side of the story, or the, I should say, Philadelphia story.
Now then. TJ, you're Dallas Cowboys. I got to give it up. Man. They were impressive last night.
They are much better than I give. Them credit for. Whatever that Micah Parsons' trade might have engendered in that locker room, either Brian Schottenheimer doused. Uh that Flame, if there was one, or maybe Micah's trade was, in fact, something that would be welcomed in a locker room, maybe from a quarterback who played his ass off last night. And Dak Prescott.
They didn't seem to miss Micah Parsons one bit. And what did they do? They stopped the run. They did, in fact, stop the run. We came up with 60-some-yard rushing, but yes.
Dude, dude, they stopped Saquon Barkley, man. They didn't let him go off. And Jalen Hurts went off. I mean, Jalen Hurts got a lot of those yards, obviously. I know it's tough to say you stopped the run.
when I did just give you, you know, they gave up 100, the rushing net yards they gave up were 158. And you take a look at the stats now that I'm actually. Being called out on it by UTJ. They stopped the running. They did a good job plugging it in.
Yeah.
Hey. I'm looking at it. Jalen Hurts had 60. He was there leading Rusher last night, which is again another MVP candidate. But a lot of those were scrambled through, Rich.
There wasn't a design around them. Exactly. Exactly. That's what I'm saying. And Barkley averaged 3.3 yards a carry.
It was Will Shipley who damn near ran for a first town every time he touched it. A.J. Dillon, they rolled him downhill to remind. Everybody, that A.J. Dillon still plays football after last year's disastrous injury march season for him.
The Cowboys did their job. They did their job last night. And they did their job last night. Right before the end of the half, it was a well-executed end-of-the-half setup for Brandon Aubrey. They use their timeouts wisely, they down the ball and clock the ball smartly.
I mean, exactly, how many times have we seen the Cowboys run a fire drill over and over and over again that only seemed to have gasoline poured on the fire? And then Aubrey bails them out because it's a 65-yarder instead of a far more makeable field goal like he made before the end of the half.
Now then, did they make mistakes? Of course they did. You know, of course they did. I mean, Miles Sanders had, he ripped off that big-time run for Dallas Cowboys, you know, 49-yarder, and then. You know, a red zone fumble that killed him.
I mean, absolutely killed him. If they had turned that into points, then their last drive of the game wouldn't have been for a touchdown. They could have just set up Aubrey for some 70-yarder to maybe win it. Had they scored a touchdown instead of fumbling it in the red zone. That changes the dynamic of that game considerably, especially because as soon as he fumbled it, the lightning came and an hour delay hit.
I mean, it was the worst time. I mean, had they called the delay. you know, for the delay after that Cowboys score. Everyone would have been sitting in a locker room off of something like that, as opposed to a field flipper, a momentum changer. And The Cowboys, obviously the CD Lamb drops is a lot of what people are talking about today because had C D made I'm going to say that last catch that could have happened was a real tough grab.
I mean, that was a real tough grab. It was the one over the middle that Dak put it right in his hands. That, I don't know, he made this motion after he popped up. That, I mean, the guys on NBC didn't mention it, but I was sitting in my hotel room here in Brazil, and it looked to me as if he was saying he may have lost it in his eyes, but that is not what he was bringing up. After the game, he did a lot of.
The chest tapping on the sideline and gave the my bad Press conference sound bite. Man, that's terrible. Honestly, I feel like I can't point no fingers at nobody else, you know what I'm saying? And I take full accountability and everything else that comes with it because, I mean, as for me as a player, I pray for moments like that, you know what I'm saying, and the bar to come my way. And obviously, for me to not come up with it, brother stings a little bit.
But I will tell you: if you think I'm not coming back any times harder than this, He got another thing coming. And as a matter of fact, listen, I know he's going to use this as whatever. you know, fuel for his fire. He he's I'm sorry, man, for you, TJ, because this was in your grasp not to, you know. borrow an unpoorly used phrase right here, but this He grabs one of those.
And this is a different story. That we're talking about today. The Cowboys had a massive opportunity. Their run game, we'll see what it looks like next week against the Giants. Because I'm imagining, you know.
Um Big Dex isn't going to spit on Dak right after the kickoff. Uh and that he's gonna play, you know, all 60 minutes. Um But Other than those drops and the fumble in the red zone. The Cowboys looked really good, man, and you gotta be happy about that. You gotta be happy about it that you saw signs of life.
and that they also seem to take a cue from Brian Schottenheimer. to execute And the play calling seemed smart. There wasn't a head scratcher that you've seen over the last few years. There's nothing that we're talking about, a hot mess. All we're talking about is it was right there.
Dak looked really good. He was aggressive at the end when he needed to be. He made some throws. The run game is there. They stopped the run with Saquon Barkley.
And Schottenheimer had this to say after the game about CD and the team's chances moving forward. I still think we can win a Super Bowl. That's the goal, Todd. It's not going to change. I mean, um.
We got the right type of guys, we got good players. Again, like I said, you know, you saw what we're capable of in the first half offensively, you saw what we're capable of in the second half defensively. We just got to put the game together in a more complementary fashion because that's what we're capable of. We lost a turnover battle, that affects some things, right? We lost 1-0, and we're all about the ball, and we've got to protect it better, and got to try to create some takeaways on defense.
I mean, we will see moving forward. They go home, and we all know they've played worse at home than they have on the road. But the fact that they made it this close, maybe, TJ, that's why I did not hear from Carl Anthony Towns at all last night. And there might not be any porn band coming into the studio today yet. Not a single day.
You know, and obviously they're at Chicago. I know, right? At Chicago, home for Green Bay at the Jets. at Carolina. You take a look at the way that the Cowboys played last night.
And you really have to feel you have to really feel good about their home date against the Giants despite losing this one in Philadelphia, TJ. Yeah, you know, look, I can look at this from the the the disgruntled fan point of view and be like, uh, yeah, play well, but we lost, which we did. But there are some things that give me hope. Um Jalen Hurts, I'm not an all-22 guy like you always say. I'm not a tape watcher.
I did see massive holes in the middle of our defense where Hurts, like Chris said earlier, he was able to scramble around, score touchdowns, and get loose. I'm going to imagine that the defensive coordinator, this team, will, you know, make those adjustments on defense so that doesn't happen again. And that. rich, that gives me hope that I think the the problems that we had can be fixed.
So, yeah, I'm kind of, you know, I was a little down yesterday, like, not knowing what to expect, but I do have a little bit more hope today. I mean, I think, as well as you played, the one thing that really stood out, you kind of needed a pass rusher last night. And you know, that would probably would have helped if you had 11 out there. No, they were able to, in the second half, they were able to get Jalen off the spot. And you could see, you know, like Ibra Fluce was blitzing digs from the corner spot.
They were bringing some people in directions that Jalen wasn't seeing. It's just, I have a feeling, guys, we're going to see Jalen Hurts do this to everybody. And it's not just the Dallas Cowboys. Yeah, but do what? Because he wasn't winning the game with his arm.
Devontae Smith, not involved. A.J. Brown, absolutely not involved. They had one big play to Jahan Dotson, of all people. That is not sustainable.
So, you know, I don't know. The Eagles really didn't impress me that much on offense. Hurts is awesome, and I think he's going to be in that MVP conversation, but he really did it with his legs last night. Chris, is that more of a knock on hurts, though, or maybe looking at maybe this Dallas defense was better than everyone gave them credit for? Maybe, or just Philly kind of kept it super vanilla and bland, knowing what they have coming up, tough games, you know, Lions, Chiefs.
Maybe that's uh an element too. I don't think they kept anything vanilla. I think Dallas is just better than we think. You just got to tip your cap. And Jalen Hurts.
I would disagree. I thought he did win his game with his arm. He didn't make any mistakes, and he won the game with his legs more than his arm, that's for sure. Third career game with two or more rushing touchdowns and a completion percentage of 80 or more, which is the most by a quarterback since 1950. No other quarterback has more than one such game in his career.
Maybe we're just seeing. The ascension of somebody so special that Michael Jordan's there with him, and you know, they're putting his sh. shoes on Jalen Hurts and we're beginning to see the ascension of a really insanely talented and special player. that I think saved the Eagles night. last night when it all started.
With the unexpectorated, as I said. When we come back, we'll talk about the hawk to a moment of the night with Jalen Carter. Expectorated. We got to talk about that. Thank you, sir.

Make sure everything's cool. I've got the proper uniform on today. Hey, Rich, I got a question real quick before we get started, if I can. Yes. What's the food situation looking like today?
We got the cheese balls. We got the chocolate and cheese yesterday. What's going on? You know, what do we got today? You just looked around, so.
Guys, I'm in a stadium.
So, you know, I see some Pringles in the distance. You know what I mean? I see some chips. I see a banana, you know? I mean, like, we're just making do.
All right. All right. No, we're making do. We're making do. But thank you for asking for the thank you for the asking for the for the food situation.
I appreciate your consideration. That's what I'm doing for my uh For my g for my gallet. Um Okay. What was Jalen Carter's malfunction on Thursday night? A malfunction.
The guy spits. Uh at DEC Prescott. Uh the NBC cameras catch it. And um then the refs flag 'em. and then kick him out of the game.
They kicked The Eagles' best defensive player and the guy who can affect. affect the game. significantly from just his one position. They kick him out of the game. Don't forget the last time, well.
I shouldn't say the last time. Second-round playoff game, the divisional weekend playoff game, the Los Angeles Rams had a game-winning play or a go-ahead. Uh Play. to potentially win the game late in a snowstorm in Philadelphia, all set up. and Stafford was ready to execute it.
if Jalen Carter wasn't unblocked and coming in and just blowing things up. I don't even need to keep going on. We all know how Jalen Carter can affect a game. And he affected. A heck of a lot more than that.
Because all I was sitting there thinking when the Dallas Cowboys were driving down the field. What a gift to give to Dallas after the last month of the season. We're all wondering if Dallas knows what the hell it's doing. We're all wondering if Dallas will be able to get past Jerry Jones trading away their best defensive player. and trading him away to Green Bay and with the most nonsensical reason that you can throw out there.
And The Eagles then Respond by They don't trade away Jalen Carter. Jalen Carter trades away his ability to play a football game last night. with just losing his mind. Um And then We find out in the second half of the game. Dak Prescott.
Spit first. He was the first spinner.
Okay.
There was a second spinner. Last night, and it was Jalen Carter. Hold on a minute, hold on a minute, hold on a minute, hold on. that you know in all these memes that I'm seeing from Seinfeld Where Newman's talking about the second spitter and all that sort of business, one of the greatest Seinfeld episodes of all time. with Keith Hernandez.
Dak Prescott. Okay.
Dak Prescott was the first spitter. Chronologically, we learned about him as the second spitter last night. But he's the guy that kind of went first.
Now He did it. I can't believe I'm breaking this down.
Well, it's a thing when he did it. It's a story right now. On the Rich Eisen show. You got to do it. The magical.
I I I can't believe I'm I'm breaking s d breaking down spit. Yes, you can. Yes, you can. We're taking this storyline and. Spitting on that thing.
See, see? You're not above it. Just leave it there, guys.
Now then. Dak is standing back. Behind his two linemen Engaging with Jalen Carter. And he Spits down. Not at.
Yeah, down. And then he's. And there's a difference. Trust me. Yeah, big difference.
I learned a long time ago. No updates I l I learned a long time ago. In the NFL, when Troy Polomalo was playing football and his hair was flowing. And um Mike Pereira came on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and said. that when you tackle somebody with their hair.
That's legal. But you're not allowed to pull somebody up by their hair. Believe it or not. You could take somebody down by their hair, it's their fault that their hair is flowing out of their helmet. I hate that.
But if they're on the ground and you still have the hair in your hand and you're pulling them up. That's 15 yards.
So I guess if you're spitting down. That's legal. If you're spitting out. That's quite illegal. Yeah.
And objectionable. And potentially suspendable.
So, Dak did not do anything illegal. He was just saying that was part and parcel of what he does. Every now and then. He also wasn't standing in front of Jalen Carter. He did, after Carter said something to him, step out from in front of his lineman when Carter.
Hit him with the Logie. And Dak with by the way. Dassie has the Walter Payton Man of the Year. He likes a patch on his jersey. Right?
That's disrespectful, man. Did he spit on the patch? Did somebody spit on it on the patch? It kind of looked like, in all honesty, at least he spit on terrible. At least he didn't spit in his face, which would have been so much worse.
Romanowski? Yeah, but it looked like it went down around his neck area. But still, like, come on. Don't spit on people. Don't spit on people, bro.
Cage Brockman can tell you that this is right now. I was literally about to bring him up. Our boy Cage. Because doesn't this sound like something? Doesn't this sound like something that, you know, you get a call from a principal about what happened in a schoolyard for a five or a six-year-old?
And these are grown-ass men in the National Football League in front of the whole country tuning in for the first football game of the year, and this happens before the first snap. The ref was standing right now, right there. Unbelievable.
So, Dak was. What do you call it? Lugie gate? I don't know. This is our first gate of the year.
Spitgate is what I'm doing to truly hawk a Lugie. It's a lot of. Yeah.
Sali saliva gate? Yeah.
Um, Doc was asked about it last night. I probably spit a thousand times throughout the game. I mean Especially game day, maybe even in general.
Something I guess I'm not proud of. But in that case, he was. Trolling, I guess you could say, trying to mess with Tyler Booker. I was just looking at him. I was right here by the two linemen, and I guess I needed to spit, and I wasn't gonna spit on my lineman, and I just spit ahead.
But I would say he was back there where Jory was in that sense, and he asked. Or he goes, You trying to spin on me? And at that point, I mean, I felt like Like, he was insulting me. Like, I wouldn't spit on somebody. I'm damn sure not trying to spit on you.
Like, we're about to play a game. Wondering why you're trying to mess with the rookie. And so when I step through, I actually say the words: like, what the hell would I, excuse me, but I'm probably even more colorful. What would I need to spit on you for? And he just spit on me in that moment and it was more of a surprise than anything.
Refs obviously saw it through the flag. I was like Hell yeah, we get 15 yards to start the game off. Didn't realize he was getting ejected. Unfortunate that he did. Hell of a player.
Changed our plan and our blocking scheme. As I've told you already before the week, that we're going to protect against him. Helped in that manner, but I don't wish for anybody to get out of the game. I'm sure he probably regrets that to some extent. I'm pretty sure he knows I didn't.
Try to spit on him or wasn't even aiming to spit on him.
So, something that's struggling with a lot of coverage and a lot of attention that. I feel sorry for him in the sense of. Yeah, I mean, I know how excited each and every one of us are, right, to kick off the season and the season opener and a hell of a player like that. Doesn't even get a chance in the first play. Um Yeah, unfortunate circumstances.
So I hear him. There are people thinking that he trolled. Jalen Carter into doing what he did, but why would he ever expect or expectorate somebody else to spit back at him? I mean, it's absurd. Jalen Carter is the guy who's got to own this, and after the game, kudos to him.
He actually did it in front of his locker, hit it. You know, it was a uh mistake that happened on my side, my side, yeah. It just won't happen again.
So I feel bad for just my teammates and the fans out there. You know, I'm doing that for them, you know, I'm doing it for my family also, for the parents, you know, they show The most love, you heard them hot. Is not being able to finish the start the game, finish the game, and just go get it better. It won't happen again. Yeah, can we start with him?
Give them a little bit of work. There's some footage later that showed that Dak may have done something first, but you feel like he precipitated it. I don't try to do nothing out of the ordinary. You know, anything that. No, I feel like I've done something that's provoked, but uh You know, if it's on out there, y'all see it with all that.
This segment on saliva is now seven minutes old.
So let's keep it going. Yeah, why not? The head coach, well, because you got to hear from the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Nick Siriani. Nick, your thoughts on your players spitting on another, Nick? Everything that we do is going to be held in-house.
Again, He knows and we needed him out there today, and he wasn't out there against a really good offense. As you guys know, I want them, you see how I coach with emotion. And I want them to play with emotion. And that's what I kind of say all the time, is but you have to do it within the rules of the game because we need everybody out there to help us be successful. Can you imagine it's your job to tell somebody as large as Jalen Carter, who's a grown man, to say, please don't spit on other people.
You know what I mean? Like, it's just. It's absurd. It's positively absurd that the season started that way. It was an absolute shocker.
It 100% affected things. It gave the Cowboys a ton of momentum. Why wouldn't you run it right up the middle? They're probably wondering how in the world are we going to have gap integrity when the guy who takes care of two gaps in one has no integrity and he's gone. I mean, it makes no, by the way, it also gave us our first look at Big Dom of the year, so that was good.
Yes. You know. And you know, the the um The Cowboys Eagle opener, the Eagles Cowboys opener, featured... The most consecutive touchdown drives and scoring drives to open an NFL season since they started the standalone kickoff game in 2002.
So That kind of helped the momentum go. You know, obviously, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles had to continue. Scoring on their own, but It gave the Cowboys a ton of... momentum to start the game. The question is do you suspend him?
Gents, I put that on the floor to you before we take our break and end this segment on Spittle. I'm going to say suspend him. Yeah, I'm going to say no. He basically was suspended for the first game of the season. The embarrassment that comes along with that, I would expect a hefty fine.
But no suspension. We'll see in week two.
Well, what do you think, T.J. Jefferson? I mean, how do I look at this? Do I look at this as a fan of it? Take the Cowboys out of it.
Take it out of it. As fan, do I look at this as a, you know, a. You can't spit on somebody, right? You just, you can't do it. I know this is football and it's a violent game, but there's also gotta be some type of respect.
And that's about as disrespectful of a thing as you can do. I think maybe the only thing that saves him from a suspension is the fact that it wasn't fully on in the face. But uh I don't know. Maybe I had to take myself out of this because I feel like, yeah, you might have to sit down again, but. He's battered.
I don't know how I feel. You can't do that, man. You can't do that. I think. I think um the fact that he was contrite Believe it or not, the fact that Dak was the first one to actually have something leave his mouth that wasn't words.
Um You know, and... Uh I I don't know. Whatever he says to If he does talk to the commissioner, maybe that will count. Will it matter that they're playing the Chiefs in front of the whole country next week? I don't think so.
Rashi Rice has been suspended from this game and five others. I do know that the team with the With their um With their logo behind my right shoulders, hoping to not see Jalen Carter next week, but I don't think he gets suspended. How does that sound? Rich, do you think this even. Do you think this even happens if that rain delay doesn't, if that weather delay doesn't happen?
Do you think anyone even is bored enough to start searching? What do you mean?
Well, didn't this happen during the day you mean found out the DAC, the DAC portion of the video gets out of the way. No, NBC's got, you know, a million lead pipe wielding professionals. They just. found it. I don't know if it was a weather delay or not.
And it doesn't even matter. I mean, the bottom line is that Jalen Carter spat at somebody, and the Eagles are lucky that they didn't lose. They are lucky they did not lose that game last night, and we'll see. Again, everybody said the Chiefs were lucky. We'll see if they got any help from the league refs on not suspending Jalen Carter.
I don't know what the history is of suspending somebody who's done it before. Yeah, Bill Romanowski. Yeah, the famous Bill Romanowski in J.J. Stokes play was almost 30 years ago, but Romo was just fine. He was not suspended.
And that was directly. That's the end of that. And that, yeah, and that was, you know, Romo had a history of other things. Yeah, that was pretty bad. 844-204-Rich is the number to dial on the program.

I have an old gen stat that's going to blow your mind, gents, from last night's results. in Philadelphia. Hit it. Oh chance. Stats.
Okay, here. Are you ready for this old gen stack? I don't think I've oversold it. Give it to me. With the Eagles' victory last night.
The Eagles' all-time record now stands at 639 wins, 639 losses, and 27 ties. Causing them to reach 500 as a franchise for the first time since their inaugural. 1933 season. And if they go into Arrowhead next week and win that football game against the Kansas City Chiefs, They would be over 500. For the first time, In franchise history.
What? That's your old gen stat.
Okay.
And old Chen Stats. How about that? Wow, that's old Jen's dad. That's a hard to believe. Wait, so the Eagles are 92 years old if the math said 1933 they were founded, and they've never been over 500.
They've never been over 500 ever. Never 500. I have to look up. I mean, hold on a minute. Hold on.
Look up their 1933 season. They must have lost week one, obviously. Um Yeah, they went three, you're right. They went three, five, and one. in in 1933.
Followed that up with 4-7 in 34, 2-9 and 35, 1-11 and 36, 2-8-1 in 37.
So, yeah, they were bad in the beginning. They were really bad. And they finally. finally have gotten back to 500. And if they win next week, they're over 500 as a franchise.
For the first time ever, they started their franchise history 0-3. They lost to the New York Giants, the Portsmouth Spartans, and the Green Bay Packers. Their first win was against the Cincinnati Reds. Is that right? Yeah.
What about that? November 5th, 1933. Yeah, 6:30. Do you think any of the players know that? I'm looking it up right now as well.
They had their training camp in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I guess Nucky Thompson was there on the sideline with them. Nice. There you go. Test it.
