Sorry. This is the Rich Eisen Show. Calling him a top five player. I just got I can't do this. I can't do this anymore.

He's not. Live from the Rich Eisen Show studio in Los Angeles. Situation is crazy. You know, it's something that I don't think you can fix. The Rich Eisen Show.

Earlier on the show. ESPN Buffalo Bills analyst Eric Wood. Co-host of Good Morning Football Kyle Brandt. Coming up. Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Leonard Fournette.

Plus Pro Football Hall of Famer Barry Sanders. And now. Yeah. It's Rich Eisen. Hour number three of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air, and we jammed all of our rushing yards into hour number three because Leonard Fournette's about to join us before taking on a Saints defense that held Tampa to less than 10 yards rushing the last time they faced each other.

Barry Sanders, Pro Football Hall of Famer, one of the best to ever run it and play it. He'll be joining us in this hour as well. Kyle Brandt and Eric Wood, formerly of, well, I guess formerly of soap operas and the Buffalo Bills, respectively. I just boxed myself into trying to finish that sentence properly by saying the word formerly. I meant Eric Wood, formerly of the Bills, now with the SPN.

Kyle Brent, formerly of Young and the Restless, now with Good Morning Football, right? Is that what it was? Absolutely. Days of our lives. Days of our lives.

Pardon me. Pardon me. as the sands through the hourglass. Speaking of soap operas, the city of Houston, that's how we started the show today, where we know George Springer is probably not coming back to the Astros. Deshaun Watson is suddenly out there as being.

a disgruntled employee number one of the Houston Texans organization. And James Harden last night after losing in a blowout to the Lakers. saying that it just it's not going to be it's not going to work. The current construct is not going to work. That's it.

Thank you. Getting up from the podium and out. John Wall also saying, you know, hey, it's only been nine games. There's some people around here who are just not buying in. He's one of those people.

And I'm like, well, where does Harden think this is going to wind up? That was hour one. Hour three, Chris Brockman, you got some breaking news right here on the Rich Eisen show? Nice drop. What do you got?

Yeah, so according to Shams over at the Athletic along with Sam Amick, two uh teams are frontrunners here to acquire James Harden. Looks like Brooklyn and Philadelphia are in the mix. A uh nets package. Would feature four future first-round picks and three future pick swaps.

Meanwhile, Philadelphia, the package would center around Ben Simmons. as well. Ha ha ha. As picks and etcetera. All right.

Austin and Toronto have also expressed it. Of course, Toronto's like the king of raising their hand. They keep winning games. All right, so James Harden on the move.

Well, he wants out, and you can't keep him around anymore. Any guesses? I don't know. We'll put a pin in that because, again, like I said, we've jammed all of our rushing yards into hour number three of the program. Barry Sanders, Pro Football Hall of Famer, will be joining us later on in this hour.

But right now, we turn to the phone lines and welcome back to the Rich Eisen Show from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers getting set to tote the rock in the Superdome. Leonard Fournette. How are you, Leonard? I'm good. How are you doing, Rich?

I am doing fine. What a huge game this is this week, Leonard. What's it like in your. locker room in your world right now for this one. Uh, as of right now, you know what I mean, we're just getting ready for uh we know it's gonna be a dog fight.

you know, um you know, they have chemistry, they've been playing with each other for a while.

So, uh Come be interesting. You know, we gotta come in. Do our job, our assignments, and just have faith in our game plan. What's it like having a front row seat for Brady in a big week like this? What's it like?

Walk me through it. I'm confident. I know it's Tom Brady, confident in him. We know he's been in these types of games before, he's been in these situations multiple times. Um A guy like myself and a couple other guys on offense, you know, we all have been in playoff games.

And we know how How easy it is to get our past.

So, you know, just the middle things, the small things, just staying focused. Stand mind clear, you know, uh Yeah.

Well, I know definitely you have been there before in the playoffs. You've had huge games, like, say, in Heinz Field by one in Dunning, the Pittsburgh Steelers. And also, you've been in a championship game against Tom Brady. The reason why I just bring it up is just: have you seen a difference in Brady, I guess, would be the way to ask it? based on what you saw over the first seventeen weeks of the season or a handful the lion's share of the season where you were there to the last couple of weeks, Leonard, have you noticed a difference?

I think it's the same. He seems to always have that laser focus. He knows how important each and every game is. as as always. What I I think is just different For me, being his teammate now, and just seeing how confident he is back there.

Even when we're down or we're in tough situations, you know, he doesn't lose his poise. He's he remains the same. You know, and uh that's what I love about them, and that's what I love about being back there with them, helping them and protecting them.

So how has things turned around since your buy, Leonard? I mean, it looks different, obviously. The results are clearly different, and the consistency is far more efficient, to say the least. What happened? What happened here, do you think?

Uh Uh, I mean, some I can't really uh Answer, you know what I mean? But Just know like uh things happen for a reason. You know? I could say that and My job is to always be ready. Are you ready?

And that's that's what that that's that's the mentality here, you know, one man's down, next man's up.

So just coming in, you know, understanding the playbook one hundred percent fully and being confident in my work. And also Don't have any doubts when I touch the field. And just know it was that task. You know what I mean? We have a we have a great team here, great players.

Understand we can win. And we just have to put the things together. That's about it.

Well, I guess I was meaning as a team, Leonard. Obviously, I know you individually. There was a couple weeks where you didn't see the field, and then you got in and became A very important part of this team in a manner that we hadn't seen, I guess, in the previous weeks. I just, I guess, I mean, offensively as a whole, where things were working, and you could easily say, hey, you know, I'm playing. That's fine, too.

That's what I was just wondering here. I think chemistry, it takes time. You know what I mean? Like I said, last week was our first playoff game together. You know, the Saints.

They've been they've been with each other for some years now and they understand And they have a chemistry. And I think we're finally getting to that right now, bit by bit. We're not fully there. But it's coming together as you can see from the last couple of games. And we just have a stick forward straddle.

That is Peter to the metal, man. I'm not gonna lie to you, you know it's different. And We're ready. I can say that we're going to be ready. It takes time.

you know, uh it's gonna be it's gonna be a big one for us. It's going to be one. Look, Leonard, obviously you've got a lot of NFL road ahead of you, and you've already had some extreme success in this league, right? You've been there and done that. But This is going to be something you tell your family members about this game.

I mean, we will never see a game where, again, the quarterbacks are going to come in with the resumes that these two are coming in. This is it. You know? Yeah, you're right about that. Two great quarterbacks.

Um Two Hall of Famers. when they retire. Uh they have the resume. Uh just how they how they've carried themselves through their careers. you know, this tremendous and to be on the stage, to play with those two guys.

uh for a young guy like me is uh no better feeling. to go out there and try to perform just as better as them or up the part with them. about doing my job. What about Leonard Fournette here in the Rich Eisen Shield? A few minutes left with the Tampa Bay Buccaneer running back.

In the previous game, you had seven touches, just one rush. I mean, obviously, the scoreboard had a lot to do with that. But what are you gleaning from that loss? On your home turf against this team going in. Like, what have you taken out of that that you've seen on film and you're.

You're using for this week anything or you buried that? back in the day. What do you got? some some way somehow it's still back in your mind, you know, they embarrassed us. on national national T V.

You know, uh And as an athlete and as a competitor, you know, um it kind of stains. you know, you wish you could have done a lot a lot of things better than what you did, but Right now, it's on to the next. You know, we moved on from that, but we just know that feeling that they gave us at the end of that game and how we felt.

So we're just not trying to fill out no more. To be honest. And you must feel fresh, right? Is this as fresh as you've ever felt for a playoff run in your career? Yeah, it is.

Usually around this time, I probably have 300-something carries. Right. Right now, I'm not like. Right now I'm at like one hundred and one, so I feel way better than when I usually did. I mean, you've got to feel really.

I mean, this is it. I'm jumping out of my skin. I can only matter what you must be feeling like going into this one, if you don't mind, especially since. you are going back to the state. Of Louisiana, Leonard.

I'll just give you the floor on what this all means. I'm excited. I'm excited. You know, being from New Orleans. uh plan at L S U.

You know, uh I know for a fact Everyone down there is a a New Orleans fan. I'm not on the Saints fan until uh Right. It's like it's kind of putting everybody in a mix because they want to root for me, but they root for the strength also. Yeah, I mean, so, um, it's exciting. Excited to be back home, play at my home.

And just ready to go to represent the show off.

So, are you in advance telling members of your friends and family, Team Fournette, sorry, in advance? Are you telling them that in advance? No, no, no. I'm just letting them know. I don't want the negative vibes about me.

I don't know what I'm about to say. And they call my phone. That's about it.

Yeah, turn the phone off, right? You're turning your phone off, right? That's for sure. Oh, yeah, definitely, definitely. They know, do not call my phone talking about the same.

I was talking about football. We're going to talk about like how life's going. I don't hear nothing about football because I know it deep down they root for me, but they're going for the same story. Like I have a friend named Peckus. He says, he always says this.

I wish the best for you. Look, he's a New York Giants fan. He said, I wish he rushed for 200 yards to lose by one point against the Giants. You know, that almost happened, actually. You know, that was a tight one part of the whole season here.

But I love it. It definitely was. You know, so you could tell your friends and family, you know, who dad is, but don't call. Be quiet. That's amazing, man.

This is it. Well, look, Leonard, I am genuinely fired up for this one. Like, I have already let everybody know that my phone's going to be off for this one, too. Like, this is it. Like, there's a specific reason why this game was saved for the final game of the weekend.

Like, it. I obviously, obviously, the attention from the quarterbacks merits it, but this is also a dynamite matchup. And the fact that you're going to have center stage in it, too, it's just I'm hyped for you, Leonard. Always, man, I appreciate you, Rick. Always.

You know, um We've been at it since college, man. I appreciate you. Always. Thanks for the call, Leonard. You be well.

We'll chat again soon. No problem. Good luck. Let's do it down the road. That's Leonard Fournette.

We have been chatting since. That second to last year, when everyone thought he should sit out his final year. Remember that? His final year of eligibility? I was one of those people.

Like, what's he even doing? What's the point? God, it was a mouthful. How great is that going to be? Ooh, for him.

They're in Louisiana and that superdome in that dome. I love that. He's telling all his friends, don't even call me. I don't want to hear from you. I don't want to hear that bad vibe.

I don't hear those bad vibes. Talk about life and not football. Brady's nice and loose, too. Did you see his meme on his Twitter and his Instagram? Go it on t social media.

The history channel one, I think somebody sent out a.

Well, someone had replied to it.

Someone was like, you know, these games need to be on the history channel. Every Brady Breeze game. Yeah. Yeah. Right?

Every game between these two guys, because I told you. this year. I mean, early on this week, I told you this week. That It's breaking the record for every first. Everything.

It's going to break the record for any record of combined quarterbacks. Coming into a playoff game. Don't even look it up. Just, it will never be touched. And we said.

Mahomes was drafted in 2017.

So, who from 2018? Would we have to be like Lamar?

Well, here's the thing, too: is that you can't be Lamar, Josh Allen, or Baker Mayfield. It can't be any of these guys because. If Alan Mayfield and Lamar play as long as Breeze did to the Brady uh you know Mahomes is Brady. That maybe their matchup records would be equal to that, right? Maybe.

But the aspect of Brady versus Breeze that is particularly unique outside of all of their combined records is that they've never. Played against each other. in a playoff game. The Saints and Patriots did not meet up in 09. in every other year in which The Patriots made the Super Bowl, the Saints fell short, came awfully close with that pass interference call in the Ramps.

We almost got Brady versus Breeze in that Super Bowl. Instead, it was Rams versus Patriots. Right. So We may eventually see it, but here's the history channel. History awaits.

And I'll just say this out of Brady. Brady still looks amazing. I'll just say it again. It's just like Brady just put a little more gray in his. In his hair, and then got.

got the beard going like uh you know Like a little, what do we go? Little Nick Neltish, little Moses. Just a little Moses. And then, you know, again, I speak on behalf of the Ball Brotherhood. What gives with Breeze?

You know, are we telling. We tell him that his future is the dad from family ties? Know what it is? That's exactly who he is. Is that what it is?

You know what I'm saying? Michael Gross. Yeah, is he the Michael Gross? That's the way he views Breeze agent? Mr.

Keaton. And with some of those aging spots around the forehead and up top, and then Tom is just like. He's like fav, you know? Like, let's just figure out. Tom kind of looks like Zeus a little bit.

Let my team go.

Well, he's the one who did Instagram and tweeted out. Tom looks amazing. He does look It's gonna look like that. I mean the best social media team. It's Tom's, right?

Tom Brady, hand down.

Well, look, I mean, Will Smith has the best social media.

Well, that's true. That's true. Tom Brady's is. I guess he's talking about sports, yeah. I just found that funny.

He went breeze. That's how he ages breeze, but he's he ages perfectly. Yeah. Perfectly. 844-204 Rich is the number to die.

Put down the microphone, dude. I can't. This is the worst reveal ever. Poo! Just put the microphone down.

This is good, Rich. This is good. He's gonna break down the whole thing. Yes. Pull both of the clips, you can't.

Hey. No! We cannot have this as the reveal. He does this. He does audio.

Put the microphone down and pull it. Or the other one. You're a big man, yank it! Yank it! Don't This is so much better.

Alright, come back in here and screw off the audio. Yeah. Years later, I apologize for ending this segment that way. Come in here and screw up the audio. I'm sorry.

No, that's fine. Because that was really eventually. You don't have thick skin. Yes, I do. No, you don't.

Yes, we did determine. I think a lot of crap. But after the exhaustive investigation. We did determine that that was Nazi was was Wrapped tight, like to the point where it did not work just to pull the strings, right? They had that thing so tight that when I went to goalie, it was like literally, I couldn't even, if I wanted to, and I went, if I pull this, that plastic's definitely ripping.

That's why I finally did it. I'm like, screw it. I'm pouring it. Marshall Falk, still laughing to this day, broke. Still laughing.

Think about mooch, Irving, And Falk have been Irving. I meant, I'm sorry, Irving. I'm thinking of Irving, Texas. They've been at the funniest moments on the show with us. I know, Irvin.

Yelling at me. Irving yelling at me, screaming, and widowing. Yeah, I go to the gym every day. I was wearing a beard back then. Look at that.

I need more. Jeez. That's four almost coming up in four and a half years. Brockman Gates. Back here on the Rich Eisen Show.

Here after Leonard Fournette. Just. departed our our our territory. We'll get to Barry Sanders in just a second. A couple of pieces of news going on.

Houston Rockets coach Stephen Silas said the Rockets, according to Mark Stein of the Old Gray Lady in the New York Times, Team's best interest for James Harden quote not to come to practice today. This thing's a wrap, guys. He's getting moved today. It's happening. You know.

This thing's a wrap. I mean, when a superstar basically goes in front of a microphone and says, I'm out. It's not going to work here. That's the end of it. You know.

Bye bye. That's going to be that. On behalf of our friends at Rocket Mortgage and their Super Bowl competition, their Squares competition, Pro Football Hall of Famer Barry Sanders here on the Rich Eyes and Joe. How are you, Barry? Rich, I'm well.

How's it going? See, I I'm great. If only you had a little James Harden in you back in the day, you could have just you know, you could have just gone up to the microphone after a loss and just say, It's not gonna work here with Wayne Fonts, I'm out, you know, and and and who knows what would have happened, right, Barry? We just don't have the players, guys. Yeah.

We don't have the players, we don't have the coaches, no no. I mean Yeah, that's what That, um you're right, man. I think uh I think there were handwritings on the wall. Yeah, I mean, it certainly. I mean, did you ever?

I know we always go there, and I'm sure you're sick and tired of talking about it, but you know, I hope you don't mind. Did you ever think of doing that? back in your day with the lines like go like how how close did you come publicly to calling everything out Um as opposed to just saying you're done playing. How close did you do that? Barry.

Uh, Rich, because I just um, my mind was somewhere else, man. I mean, um. At the very end, I I just was was done playing, so So I knew it was time to move on. But before that, I was preoccupied with just playing the game and and um trying to be great at what I what I did and trying trying to you know, really build Detroit into into something. You know, and we we got halfway there, but But yeah, that would have been a reach for me 'cause my my mind just wasn't there.

I mean, I I 'cause I lo I love playing the game and it didn't. It almost didn't matter what statum you put me in, especially initially as a young player. I was just excited to be on the field, you know, and so and then I like being in Detroit. because it was a chance to to turn it into a winner. I know we didn't inherit a winner, but it was a It was a chan ch a chance to change the narrative.

You know, we had to pick the big saying back then, you know, restore the roar, you know.

So that's what I was trying to do.

Well, certainly since you didn't say much and you you hardly ever spoke uh a crossword like that, it would have resonated. I don't know if you saw On Twitter yesterday, what Andre Johnson tweeted out. Did you see that, Barry? Did you see? Yeah, yeah, so something to the effect of just support supporting Watson.

Yeah. And calling out the owner basically, you know, not by name, but say that some in the organization for some reason can't seem to see what's going on that I hope Deshaun will stand my ground. I mean, you know, Andre. I mean, my gosh, he never says anything. And that was out of nowhere, right, Barrett?

I mean, that's something else. Out of hand. Oh, yeah, no, it again, I think for him, he must really be fed up with it. For him to make that kind of a statement, you know, and so. When you won a uniform, you know, you um there's a different level of care.

and attachment that you have with the organization.

So And so, yeah, I I think um some guys it's hard, you know, you can't just sit stand by. Um and watch an organization do things that you believe are or against um their best interest, I guess.

So So yeah, I mean, some some players are just compelled to speak out, and that I think that's what Andre did yesterday. Barry Sanders, Pro Football Hall of Famer. You're part of the process of putting pieces back together for the Lions right now, right, Barry? Did I read that? Yeah, that's right.

I mean, I'm just sort of. You know, sort of a support role. Maybe you could say, I mean, obviously. Sheila, she's tapped Chris Fillman. to pretty much make the call and interview coaches and that kind of thing.

Um and so uh and so yeah, I mean in some small way, I'm involved in the process And Chris has a great feel for the game. He's been around the game, obviously, for many years. And being in the booth, you know, you you understand who the who the real actors are. from a coaching standpoint and And that thing.

So he's he's working diligently on it. you know, and and uh I'm um I'm just sort of on the fringes, I guess you could say, as some support and maybe to bounce ideas off of.

So, yeah, that's correct.

So, let me bounce off of you. Who do you think? Not you know, if you don't want to name names, that's fine, but the the type of coach, the necessary traits For the Lions right here and right now in 2021 would be what? Who, Barry?

Well, I think there's some good candidates out there. They've already Chris has already interviewed several But I think going back to kind of um Kind of our my theory coming in as a lion, someone who says, I love the opportunity. I'm trying to make make Detroit a winner. who sees it as an opportunity. um who um who has a proven record who you know, and you have to be able to command that locker room.

because you have all different types in there. A lot of guys maybe who haven't won. And so you really have to be able to challenge that group of men uh to really prioritize um certain things maybe that they haven't prioritized before. You know, so that's always difficult. And so I think some of those things.

or what Chris is looking for. And what I I guess I would say it could be good qualities, someone who really can command that locker room and And obviously you gotta gotta know your X's and O's. But you have to be someone who people don't mind following And so and so, yeah, I mean, hopefully that's that's uh Kind of what um You know what we'll end up with, you know, and I think Chris has a great process in place. And so we have a lot of confidence in them, and we're looking forward to. the decisions that Chris and ultimately Sheila Comes up with.

Do you think Chris should if you or he? uh make it a requirement of every coach coming in that they make sure that their plan involves Matthew Stafford. Barry Sanders. I mean, I would assume that it does involve Matthew, but that's me. I don't know how some other coach may see that situation.

But I think he's still playing at a tremendously high level. Good to see him stay healthy last year. And you know, he I mean, he's just been he's carried the franchise. For many years. And so just me looking at it, I would assume he would fit into someone's plans.

But, you know, you can never say for sure. And, you know, again, I know it's somebody else's house, but we were talking about Houston with the Texans and everything else going on there. And a name that's being bandied about as a finalist for the job, who I think would be able to put some of this fire, whatever's going on, we don't know the extent of it with Watson out, would be Jim Caldwell. I wonder what you thought. Of Jim and what he might be able to bring to that equation from the outside, looking in, obviously, as we are.

So you're saying bringing back Coach Caldwell? Yeah, that Caldwell, it looks like, is on the Texans list. Right now that the Texan no, no, no. I I did say that you know, initially first blush when Patricia was fired, and I got a whole bunch of crap from Lions Twitter and people saying that Jim that Jim didn't beat teams that had winning records and there were like nine guys on the field once and things like that. But Um you're hearing his name a lot and and to me, certainly down in Houston.

That wouldn't surprise me. That wouldn't surprise me. I mean, look at who he's been around, right? I mean. You know, look at what he was able to accomplish.

in the Indy, you know, and then I believe he was on the staff with um With the Ravens when they won Super Bowl, he was on the staff. And even he has a winning record. I thought he did pretty well in Detroit. You know, and so it takes time to build a winner, you know.

So I think he can be somewhat proud of what he was able to accomplish here in Detroit. You can I guess you can always look at it from any angle you want. Um, but uh but yeah, I that doesn't surprise me that that um you know the the Texans Are looking at him. I think he's a solid candidate, you know, and and really knows the game and and really so so yeah, I You know, it wouldn't surprise me at all. Barry Sanders here on behalf of Rocket Mortgage Super Bowl Square Sweep Sakes, which we'll get to in a second.

Best running back in the league today, Barry. You get it. I think I might ask you this every single time you're on, but I don't care. It seems to change every year. Right now, who's the guy?

Oh, you mean besides Derrick Henry?

Okay. No, I mean, congratulations to Derek for the phenomenal year. Rich, I believe they should have given him the ball 30, 40 times. uh last weekend. Um, you know, I think he's still always your best chance on offense.

So is in a tight game like that, He he should have had m many more carries. I know Baltimore played him tough. What would you expect? But a solid group of running backs in the playoffs, and even this season. You look at Delvin Cook of the season he had and look at Jonathan Taylor You know, even with Tampa with Green Bay, the Aaron Jones kid over a thousand yards.

I mean, the list goes on and on. I mean, look at Cleveland with Chubb and and Green Hunt, um, you know, and and um you know, you you look at Kansas City even with how how the fireworks that that offense is and Edward Delaire and Left Bell. I mean, it's just You know, so so um It was a good year for running backs, but obviously a great year for Derrick Henry. Yeah, I mean, 2,000 yards. If that game went into overtime, Barry, he might have set the single game and single season rushing records in one day.

It was close. He was that good that day. Unstoppable. Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely.

No, I agree with you. I agree with you. Yeah, I mean, and his team needed every one of those yards, too. Thank you. So, kudos to him for.

For stepping up. But I love that there's a bit other than Derek. And it is amazing when you look at Cook. I know he missed a couple games and Jonathan Taylor. They weren't even within 700 yards.

Cook was, I think, 700 yards behind Henry, and Taylor was almost 1,000 yards behind him. That's how far Henry was in front of the rest of the field. This year. No, yeah. I mean, he almost pretty much lapped mostly everyone else besides Cook, you know.

So, but the guy, in my opinion, Rich, the last couple of years, he's been the most dominant player outside of Patrick Mahomes and maybe arguably Aaron Rodgers. Um, you know, so hopefully he's being compensated. With that, you know, with in that range of quarterback money, I don't know what his particular deal is, but uh, he's certainly deserving of it. And how many yards would you have gotten in a season with a fullback? How many certain things?

Oh, you mean back back then? Yes. Back then with a good fullback. I mean, you know, I think strong, strong year, you know, strong year. Give me a number.

Give me a number. Give me a number. How about 1900? Oh, come on. I wanted to give you to give me the number beyond Eric Dickerson so the two of you could have a nice conversation the next time you saw each other.

You know, oh, yeah, I'm sure Derek, you oh, no, Eric would very, really appreciate that. You know, I'm sure Eric would really appreciate that. Um, you know, I. But no, hey, look, Eric, man, you know, just a wonderful runner, and I I'm sure he loves uh He loves to see guys get close, but not too close. Exactly.

He was probably wherever he was on that week 17 Sunday. He was rooting for that game not to go to overtime, and he was probably jumping out of his seat when somebody knocked the ball out of Henry's hand. Because if he didn't fumble it on that carry in the fourth quarter, he got 50 yards in front of him. He was set up maybe on that run alone. He really is amazing.

No, absolutely, man. No, he he has such a bright future, and I I wouldn't be surprised to see him go over two thousand even again in the future to be the only guy to do it twice. Um, you know, but I I think he's just that good.

So before I let you go, Barry, I'm reading a promo about this on NFL Game Day Morning every single playoff weekend now, and I plan to do it. I'm probably got a few more shows left in it. The Rocket Mortgage Super Bowl Squares. Sweepstakes that you're free to enter right now. I'll give you the floor on it.

Barry, what do you got for me on this? Oh, yeah, Rich. I mean, it's just a chance for fans to win a lot of cash during the game. And so every score change during the game, Rocket Mortgage. Is going to give away fifty thousand dollars to fans, and then the grand prize consists of.

a couple of fans having a chance to win half a million dollars And so, as I said before, every score change, field goals, touchdowns, record points, whatever. You have a chance to win 50 grand. And so you can go to rocketmortgasquares.com and find out more about it. As you mentioned, it is free to play. Great way to just be involved in Super Bowl, in addition to obviously it being the world's greatest game.

Rock the mortgage is just building on what they did last year and giving away $1.7 million to fans. And so hopefully this year. Is even bigger and better than than that.

So, again, go to rock and mortgage squares.com. To find out more about it, maybe you can be a lucky winner. And I think everybody, when they do that, they need to learn their analytics. Because as you mentioned, it's every score change.

So if you've got the square that would hit if somebody tries the extra point and then they trot out going for two down, like say 13, you have no idea what the hell they're doing because of analytics. And then suddenly that passes up your shot to win to square. I mean that That's going to hurt. I'm not going to lie. That's going to hurt.

Everyone needs to understand the math and the analytics or something like this. They do, but is there Plenty of chances to win, though, Rich. Every score changes. A lot of great offenses in the playoffs, and hopefully that'll make it to the Super Bowls. I know defensive coordinators may not want to hear that.

You hope the Rams don't make it a lot of cash. I know. Hey, Barry, thanks for the call. Appreciate it. Hope you and your family are well, healthy, and I always love our chats.

You take care, Barry. You be well. Thanks, Rich. Great talking to you, man. You got it.

You got it. That's Barry Sanders right here on the Rich Island Show at Barry Sanders on Twitter and Instagram. That's a goat right there. You know, so many people have the squares and they play it for the Super Bowl. It's not, but it's usually when the quarter ends, the score at the quarter end, right?

Right, right, right. And then at the end of the game, This sweep stakes, it's for every score change. That's amazing.

So, if you've got like the box 7-6 and somebody scores a touchdown at a 7-6, then you get. 'Cause there's So many people, they randomly pick your name, and you can win 50 grand. And then extra point goes through wherever a 7-7. They do it again. But if you've got 7-7 and someone decides to go for two points.

Uh-oh. And thou ate seven. And then you don't have seven, seven. You know what I mean? Like, there's a lot going on here.

Hold on, I got to sign up for this right now. I mean, there's a lot of action. If you will. And then at the end of the half, $500,000 goes towards the purchase of home. Hey.

You should definitely go, man. I needed this. Like, I wanted to go. Last year and the first year of the sweepstakes, 1.75 million in prizes handed out to 15 individuals. Let's all sign up.

RocketMortgageSquares.com open now through February 4th. Talking about Gus Johnson's doing the broadcast, too. I mean, MT's doing all those commercials. HAHAHA Good job, Rich. Ravens Bills, Saturday night, 7:30 Eastern is the pregame.

Now let's go out there and broadcast it. The Vince Lombardi trophy is sitting here in all of its beautiful, shiny glory. Look at it. You got a big desk. You got a rock and roll pin.

You got the Lombardi trophy. Right now I'm feeling really low. You're up like Yao Ming, and I'm looking up to you. And you're a Muggy bugs? Yeah, I'm a Muggsy right now.

This is very tonight show-like. I mean, I feel like I'm Ed McMahon over here. I should have the great Karnak visit us. Yes, I should open the envelope. Here we go, HTC Mike and the Houston, Texas Shoe Leaders, everybody.

Seven, eight, one, and two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, eight. There's a bit of pizzazz there. Oh, wow, you almost threw out your back right there. You don't bring me in here to do traditional stuff. Oh.

Fuck. Was he holding me or was he not holding me? I came and find my wallet. My wallet is missing right now. Come on.

I'm just saying, you look like it might stink a little bit, Rich. Everybody be like, yo, I saw Rich Eisen leave the bathroom, and oh my God, what did he eat? How in the hell do you do that with your brain? You know what? It's magic, baby.

It's magic. He swears that he's going to be able to get a selfie with Lady Gaga. Yes or no? No, absolutely not. Ha ha ha ha.

I'm bringing a pet poppin'. I'm bringing a pet poppin'. You ready? Here we go. There you go.

I like it. Gotta like it. $100,000 pyramid, man. Come on with some money, baby. Help somebody win some money.

Nothing about this. Guaranteeing $100,000 for whatever lucky individual your producers care to pair up with you. This man won a major award last night. The Pat Summerall Sports Broadcast Journalist Award. Thank you.

It's the biggest award there is, folks, so give it up. Thank you. And it looks like, Rich. Yes. It looks like something was drank out of it.

Jaeger. Wow, what a fun week we had right there. And then it just you take it, don't ever take anything for granted. We had fans and people, it was so much energy that week. It was amazing.

And then you didn't get the selfie. That's funny. Why do we have to go button?

Somebody did get a selfie rich, didn't they? Yeah, that's great. Yeah, we get up there. It's great. Yeah, I shook her hand, met her, I was fine.

I do appreciate it. Oh, yeah. Got off the NFL game day morning set during a commercial break, having the producers go, Where the hell is Rich going? I said, I got to get a selfie with Gaga. And they're like, What the hell for?

And I'm like, I got to show up, Del 24. They're like, Oh, go ahead. I'm still pissed at Fox. We'll give you the segment off. I'm still pissed at Fox because I had it.

They didn't give me a field pass the day of the game. Like, have you ever noticed it's always someone else's fault? Always someone else's fault. I am blaming them. I don't care.

And I don't care who hears it. Everything today that's gone on, you've blamed somebody else. Because I get abused. I gotta fight back. What are you talking about?

No one's abusing you. I get abused. You just didn't get a selfie. I appreciate that. Mike can't talk and point at the same time.

Well, because I got to watch the thing.

Okay, now we're back on our radio today. I got to watch.

So, for our radio audience, we just showed because Houston is on the minds of everybody today, right? With Harden on the move, it looks like. Deshaun Watson getting some Twitter cover from Andre Johnson, who doesn't ever talk, let alone tweet. Exactly. So we just showed some of our highlights from Houston where we were in the convention center.

We had our live set in the convention center that year. And J.J. Watt was a guest and and Watt. We brought up the fact that Del Tufo was saying that the half-time act of of um Lady Gaga, he went in saying he was going to get a selfie with her. And you said, Mike, that you were going to get a selfie with her, Because You were going to be at the dress rehearsal, and you were going to get her there.

No, that's what you said. No, I said the day of the game. I wasn't going to bug her at the rehearsal. You said that, excuse me, this is totally revisionist. You said I was going to get one with her.

And we're like, how in the hell are you going to do that? And you're like, I'm going to be at the dress rehearsal because I've got people. It's fine. I'm going to get a pass and all the security. I'm going to go, I'm going to find her at the dress rehearsal and I'm going to get a selfie.

And we're like, go for it. And then we found out. The next day after the rehearsal, it was Friday because the rehearsal is a Thursday night, always is for the Super Bowl. The Thursday of the Super Bowl, the the halftime. act town flies into town does a press conference that invariably is very awkward.

'Cause they're asked who's going to win the game and they don't know and they don't care. Yeah, Prince did his did his it it said, I'm not doing a halftime concert press conference. I'm just going to play music and it was amazing. That was in South Florida in in my in 2009, the famous Purple Rain halftime show. And it was 06, pardon me, 06, because it rained in that game between the Colts and the Bears, cats, and dogs.

But So Friday we go on the air. Do you have the selfie? No. You said no, you did not have it. Because you had an opportunity.

I wanted to wait. And no. That is revisionist again. I love Frede's of great music. You said.

No, because I've got a memory for this sort of thing.

Some things I don't remember, but in terms of like, I'm a walking encyclopedia for this show. You are a walking archivist. I know who's been on most of the time. It's their first time, second time. I don't know why I remember this stuff.

I do. But I remember. You said Yes, sir. That it just did not happen. Unfold in a way where it would have been too awkward for you to cost her.

I couldn't. No, I met her and I shook her hand, met her, was introduced, didn't take the picture.

So I knew you didn't get it. She was a little stressed. And you said you were going to do it on Sunday. And in Fox. Whatever, I don't know.

I don't care how much you're gonna have to do. Did not get me a field pass. I don't care how much I normally get. Boo-hoo! I would have been out there and I saw her come in on a golf cart, and I kind of screwed up and didn't go up and do it.

I had an opportunity, and I said, you know what? I'm not going to.

Okay. Unfortunately, for you, this stuff should have been left dead and buried, but now it's been unearthed. But I am the selfie king. I'm pretty good. Oh, yeah.

Did you You said you were introduced to her. Who introduced you to her? The security guys. I know all the guys. They're all New York ex-New York cops.

Great. That do all the halftime shit. Those are the ones who got you out of trouble when you wrapped your police car around your car. Oh, no, no, stop. I didn't wrap it on the train.

It was a police car.

Okay. It was my own car.

Okay. But. Yeah. But I was pleased. They introduced you to her.

I always get up close. I'm always right there. And they introduced you to her. You're like, can I take a seat? I didn't do it.

Because I thought someday I'd have a better opportunity after they performed. They always walked the field. I'm like, I messed up. I was just saying. On an NFL game day morning, set in the corner of the end zone in NRG Stadium, and I see her and an entourage stroll out.

I saw it on Camfield. I saw you get it on camera. Oh, I didn't really. In the truck. You've never told me that.

Oh, yeah. I saw it. They shot you with the stock. Chris Brockman. By the way, I know when Chris wants no part of anything.

Right now, he can't even look at you. Rich, I know. He can't even shot. You and Mooch. Mooch did it too.

You both got it. Do you know the guy who saw me on the truck? Yeah, I did. I knew it. Chris Brockman, yes or no?

No. Okay. He doesn't I don't care what he says. I got the selfie. I didn't just I went up to her she was with her I think it was with her parents that they were surveying the field and she was lying on like the logo.

She was going like full Juju Smith Schuster before TikTok. And she was having like a party out there. And I went up to her. And I said, you know, I'm the host of NFL Network. Do you I'm from Staten Island?

Because you know We got that going now. And so, do you mind if I can just get a selfie with you? I got not one, but Two. And didn't say a word. Cultivated that caper and busted it out on Monday's edition of the Rich Hazy Show.

And there's my shot. Look at me raising my eyebrows, basically saying, Look what I got, right? She's fixing her glasses. I didn't even wait for her to get ready. Yeah.

Are you more proud of that selfie? Yes, don't finish the sentence. Or Scorsese. Hold up. Oh, wait, come on, Scorsese.

Come on, Rich. That's what I'm saying. Scorsese is my ultimate, you know, Gaga was a spite selfie. That was a spite selfie. That was how the spite.

That was a spite. That was a spite selfie. The Scorsese was for you. Gotta have the beans. That's a good way to put it.

Gaga have the beans. Spite selfie. Latte riches. That was how the spite. Scorsese, that was all you.

Scorsese was all me. That's funny. And fantastic. You wanted to be part of it? I'm so pissed.

You wanted to be part of it. I cultivated that caper to use the Scorsese movie phrase. And I went up to him and I took it. He doesn't look happy at all. He doesn't look happy.

No one was happy with that. No happy. Score says he wasn't happy. His security wasn't happy. The security at the Chiltern Firehouse in London wasn't happy.

The wait staff wasn't happy. My wife was extremely displeased. But you got your picture. I got my selfie. I got my selfie and I got my time, and that's all that matters.

I'm not mad. I was pleased. And that's at that moment in time, all that matter. Because you'd be kicking yourself right now had you not taken that. Especially when I had already introduced myself to him by purposefully going to the bathroom for no apparent reason except to just walk past him and introduce myself to him.

And so I felt comfortable since we had had that moment already. You weren't a stranger. I saw him getting up. walking out of the restaurant right behind my table. That all I need to do is just stick my chair out like I was getting up.

Oh! Are you leaving? I'm just getting up. I'm sorry. Oh, good to see you again.

Would you mind if we take a selfie? And at that point in time, people were jumping out everywhere. From even the waiter was just like, sir, sir. And he's just, you know what he said? He said, it's okay.

That's nice. Marty and I? are tight close like Starsky and Hutch.

So what I'm saying is that You Mr. Selfie King, self-proclaimed selfie king. 100%. You are not. You are not.

Because when it comes to it. It's too awkward. I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. The phone is there.

The Gaga is there. Do it! That's it. Thought I had another day and I could have went. But you know, you can.

Yeah, I can. Any selfie king will know that you've got to live carpe. Selfie. Only one selfie I regret more than the Lady Gaga is when I was at Paul McCartney sitting behind me. Ringo Starr, Jeff Lynn, Joe Walsh.

Mike, why do you set him up like this? But that's why I didn't want to do it. But I got a picture. That's what I mean. When I pulled McCartney when we were going through the blackout together, I had the Super Paul McCartney and the Supertome.

I got that one too. I got my Paul McCartney. See, I just regret the two selfies that I didn't get. Rich Scott. You know, Carney was on stage singing.

I just went third person. I don't really go Silk Per, third person. I don't really do it. Brockman can't even look at you right now. He can't even look at you because you just defend yourself.

It's defenseless. It's a defenseless receiver. I should get 15 yards. That's what I'm naming my boat: Selfie King. Two pump jump piss.

Selfie King. All right, actual sports news, real quick. Mark Stein saying Houston really determined to complete the trade today. Yes. League sources say the deal with Philly needs to include Maxie and Ben Simmons.

Philly also wants PJ Tucker in return. Oh. The haggling is over. Daryl Moore. That's his guy, is P.J.

Tucker. The haggling is over which players and how many teams would feature in a trade continues, but league sources say nothing's happened yet. to dislodge the Sixers from their long-held position as the favorites. TJ gets the Mets and the Sixers. Man.

Okay. Give it to me. By the way. But is there any athlete, Brockman and Mike and Rich, who Deserved to pull a harden more than Barry Sanders did in his career, and he didn't do it. Larry Fitzgerald.

More than Barry Sanders?

Well, not more than Barry Sanders. I mean, Larry at least went to a Super Bowl. Mike Tomlin's winning. Mike Tomlin, just so I can pay that off, too, says it's reasonable. To think that Ben has a chance to come back next year.

How many couch words in that? Yeah, but it's reasonable. It's reasonable. It's reasonable to believe. Thanks to Eric Wood, Kyle Brent, Leonard Fournette, and Barry Sanders.

We will see you on Thursday on the radio on the Rich Eisen Show for Peacock. Hang on. We'll be right back.
