So that tells your eyes. This is the Rich Eisen Show. For athleticism and talent. And this is your super week. It's as good as Ray Charles and Stevie's Wonderful.
I super eyes. Covering the biggest game. To me, it is how are they gonna handle Kelsey? The Rich Eisen Show. Earlier on the show.
Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Davis. Still to come. Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner. Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams. Plus, Buffalo Bills wide receiver, Stefan Diggs.
And now. It Hour number two of the Rich Eisen Show is on the air. We're very excited to have. Not one, but two Hall of Famers on the show. Terrell Davis, who's on an hour number one.
My buddy Kurt Warner is going to be joining me in just a matter of moments. And then two, if you will, dogs from the game. Today, Jamal Adams of the Seahawks, Stefan Diggs of the Buffalo Bills, who came Close, but no cigar, if you will, to get into this Super Bowl 55 that is now three days away. Chris Brockman and Mike Del Tufo are in their posts over there. TJ Jefferson is settling into his chair, our social media grand maester over there.
You forgot a Hall of Famer, Rich. Mike Del Tufo's. Oh, are you in the Hall of Fame, Mike?
Somewhere? Are you in the Hall of Fame anywhere? I mean, I theoretically am in the Hall of Fame. Don, do you have that photograph that Mariuchi I take some things from the Super the Game Day Morning? Text exchange.
Mooch sent out this photograph of him and Kurt. For the, I guess, 2017 Game Changers episode, the NFL Network, a show called Game Changers, where Mooch would have three prospects coming into the. Um Coming into the NFL draft and work them out and talk about life and talk about the game. And there's Kurt, because these are the three quarterbacks that were going into the draft. You've got Brad Kya.
Of Miami, Davis Webb of Cal, and Texas Techs Patrick Mahomes. Unfortunately, I believe only one of these. Youngsters from the Game Changers are uh change the game. Davis Webb. And Mariuchi accused in the text exchange, Kurt Warner, of trying to change Patrick Mahomes' throwing motion.
And that's how I bring in my my uh my my friend uh who's calling the game on Westwood One radio, uh uh Kurt Warner. How are you, Kurt? I am good, Rich. I am good. It's always great to hear how you're going to lead into me, and I always appreciate it.
Always appreciate it. I don't know. It doesn't sound like there's any appreciation in your voice right now, Kurt. Got to be honest. Don't think I'm centered for the appreciation.
Well, you know, you never tell the whole story, and Mooch never tells the whole story, and I'm just here to kind of just. Take my shots and I'll just move on. No, it's okay. But so let's start with this one. When you did see Mahomes that day, and you did spend some time around him before Andy Reid traded up to go get him in the draft.
What was your thoughts on Mahomes? Clearly, I don't think anybody saw his first three years as a starter, first four years in this league coming. But what did you see out of him that day?
Well, I think you definitely saw the skill set. You definitely saw the talent level. In his arm, um, you know, still to this day, I mean, the one thing that kind of would jump out at you, and especially. For a guy like me that's all about technique because that's how I had to play the game. He was very unorthodox in how he threw the ball and some of the balance or the arm angles and some of those different things that I think always concern you about a quarterback because.
You know, a lot of guys when they have those kind of deficiencies or or their technique is a little bit off, it translates into not being very consistent or successful on a football field. Um But obviously, we know that there are some guys that are different. Like, you know, Aaron Rodgers, I would never take a young guy and say, hey, Try to learn how to throw like Aaron Rodgers because He does it differently. I mean, there's times he's got both feet off the ground and he's making a 35-yard throw. Patrick Mahomes is very much in that mode, and that was the thing that you couldn't see at game changers when we're throwing to spots or we're trying to do drills.
You couldn't see everything else that comes into play when you're talking about Patrick Mahomes.
So, saw the talent level, you saw the unorthodox nature of how he threw, and that was my biggest concern. And to your point, you were moot showing, yeah, he wanted to change his throwing motion a little bit. I would still like to take him and tighten some things up because I think if he did that, he would be even better. He would be even more consistent. But The bottom line is he's just one of those rare beasts That understands how to throw the ball from different platforms has a unique ability to connect his mind.
His body, and he overcomes so much of the stuff that most guys wouldn't normally be able to overcome. And have you spoken to him yet for Game Day Morning? I know you've already spoken to Brady, correct? Is that I have spoken to both of them.
Okay, so what did you get out of the way early?
Okay, so what did you walk me through what you found with both of these guys who are I mean Look, we're we're we we th it it's such a huge matchup. We know that. And I think the matchup is only going to get larger uh in our you know dashboard, not our rear view mirror, or I guess in our view rear view mirror once we we keep on uh moving forward with Mahomes' career and whenever Brady finally does decide to Hang them up. What did you find out from both of these guys this week in your conversations, Kirk? You know, you just kind of find out, you know, even when you do these interviews, you try to go different angles.
But I think the bottom line, what usually comes out in an interview, is. Who these guys really are, and that's what came out to me in both of these interviews: is that Patrick. Yid is a great kid. Is a humble kid, but is still a kid, and approaches the game. Like that.
You know, one of the fun things that hopefully makes the interview for Game Day Morning is, you know, I was asking him about some of those crazy plays that they come up with. And I was asking him, you know, is it Andy Reed that comes up with these plays, or has it gotten to the point now where you or some of the other guys come in every week and bring some of those fun things to him? And he goes, Yeah, now it's like me and Kelsey and Tyreek. We're over on the side of practice, and we're practicing these different moves and trying to sell them so we can go over to Big Red and say, hey, coach, we practice this. We think this will be really good.
And so it's fun to see that approach because when you watch the Chiefs play, It very much seems like that, doesn't it? It seems like they're all having a blast and they're having fun and they're doing backflips. And Travis Kelsey is being Travis Kelsey and Patrick Mahomes is playing out in the backyard. And that very much comes across On, you know, in the interview, and when you sit down and talk to him and get to know him. And then on the other side, you get Tom Brady, who is the ultimate competitor.
And everything is about. Getting every advantage and taking advantage of every moment and Trying to get to as many Super Bowls as he can and trying to beat everybody that gets in his path. And that is his mindset in everything that he does. And there's no signs of stopping it. I even asked him at one point, like, do you ever consider that this Maybe your last Super Bowl?
And he actually said yes. I was thinking that he might just say, nope. Uh I I'm planning on playing longer and I'm planning on beating more Super Bowls and that's just what I do. But he's very businesslike and he's very professional. And yeah, everything he does, I think, is meticulous.
And he's got a reason for everything. And that comes across in the interview as well: sometimes I want him to kind of break his shell and have a little bit more fun. But this is who he is, and this is how he's wired. And it's why we're watching a guy do something that no one's ever done and that maybe no one will ever do in this game is because. That is how he approaches this game and this profession, and he's the ultimate competitor.
And we're trying, we're grasping, all of us in the media and just fandom are just grasping it to try. And you know, there's no answer to the rhetorical question: can you believe Brady's still doing this? But the perfect person to try and get an answer out of would be the person who he beat in his first Super Bowl. And what do you think when you're sitting down interviewing Brady for his 10th Super Bowl and you were in the first competing with him, Kurt? I mean, what goes through your head?
when that happens. I I mean, it's just it's almost hard to fathom. Bridge. I remember when I was growing up, and I said to myself, okay, I want to be a quarterback that starts in five Super Bowls because when I was growing up, You know, nobody had ever started in five, and then John Elway ended up starting in five, but that was kind of my goal. And now I think to myself, and you got Tom Brady, and Kids can't even dream to play in 11 Super Bowls.
I mean, you can't even dream for that. And so most kids are looking at it and going, well, okay, Tom Brady will be number one, and then I'll shoot for number two, and maybe I can get to six. It is just. incredible to think what he has stacked uh on top of you know Everything else year in and year out, what he's done this year. And I think it's what makes this game so compelling: is that you have Tom Brady and the guy that, you know, two years ago, Rich, we were all talking like this will never be done before.
There's no chance that anybody. Yeah. Does what Tom Brady does.
Now, here he is playing against a kid that's 25 that will be playing in his second Super Bowl. And now we're starting to go, oh my gosh. This is a battle of, as a lot of people say, maybe the two best quarterbacks we'll ever see when it's all said and done. But more importantly, it's the goat. Hands down the goat and Tom Brady.
But it's the one guy that we see that we say, Maybe. Maybe. Maybe. Maybe this guy can do it. I don't know if anybody else will ever be able to do it.
I don't know if any kid will ever be able to dream about it. But here's the one guy that is set up at this stage in his career where we say. Ah, there's a possibility. And that to me is what makes this so unique and so special. We got the goat and the next greatest, and he's got the one chance that we think to maybe rival.
The guy that he's playing against, and as you said, goes all the way back to when I played, and that's when the legend started. It's still going on, and it's kind of like. The best. You know, coming to an end, and we're ushering in the next two decades of our game with the next great one. And so it's just.
It's phenomenal. And both of them, you admire them and you respect them for who they are and how they play the game and how they approach this. And so I can't wait, like everyone else, to see these two guys go head to head in these Two teams go head-to-head on the biggest day.
Well, based on what you just said, Kurt Warner, that's why I asked our colleague who's going to be part of our Sunday, Super Sunday extravaganza on NFL Network, our pregame show that starts at 9 a.m. from Raymond James. I asked Willie McGuinness, is it possible that Brady at any point in time is, in fact, thinking about the fact that Mahomes is off to such a great start? And if there is anybody who can just maybe, to use the phrase you just said, just maybe get him that it's Mahomes. And that's another reason why Brady is if he needs another log on that.
All-time great fire that burns within, it gives him even an extra sense of I gotta beat this kid because he might actually catch me one day. And so, on behalf of my 65-year-old self, I need to do this. Like, literally, like, does he think that? And I'm wondering if you think he does think that. Wait, potentially.
I quite frankly think that. And again, it's to me it's how Tom Brady. is wired as much as anything. Is that A She won I think to beat everybody in it. And every time he plays.
And yeah, do I think there's a part of him that says, okay, maybe this kid gets to 10 Super Bowls, but. I'll get to say, yeah, he went to ten, but I beat him in one. Do I think Tom Brady thinks like that? Without a question, I think Tom Brady thinks like that. Is that he.
Understands all of that. He sees the big picture and he wants to be. The greatest. And all the great ones, that's what goes through their mind. I want to be the greatest, and to do that, I've got to be.
The greatest, or the next greatest, or the next great thing. And yes, Tom Brady is wired like that, and I believe that goes through his mind, even though. There's a bigger picture in who he plays against and the Chiefs' defense and all that stuff. Yes, I believe that is in the mind of Tom Brady as everything else is, as he takes all of this in. And tries to take down anybody in his past.
So, the few minutes I have left with you, my friend Kurt Warner, X and O it for me. I know that there's so many different ways to go because of the number of playmakers that are at the disposal of these two great quarterbacks and defenses that have playmakers of their own right, the Buccaneers linebackers versus Kelsey, for instance, or the Chiefs, the way that they have been able to put the bang thing on with people with Tyron Matthew ready to snipe somebody.
So, how do you have this all worked out for Super Bowl 55? Best you can lay it out in a couple minutes. Yeah, I mean, there are so many great storylines that I could break down, Rich, as you know. But the way, you know, just big picture-wise, I think the Chiefs are the better team. I think they are the better team across the board.
I think they have more ways to beat you. I think they're more explosive. offensively. And I think they win this football game. That does not mean that the Bucs don't have the pieces or aren't good enough to win this game.
There are multiple ways that they can win this game, and it starts with the pass rush. Against those two backup tackles, can they force Patrick Mahomes to be someone different than he usually is? But I just believe that the Chiefs are the better team, have been more consistent, are good in these big moments, and they find a way to win this game. I also believe that this game has a tendency in my mind to not even be that close, that the Chiefs could win this game by. by double digits based on, you know, just the way that I see it play out in my mind.
outside of some of those strange things that Could surely happen in this big game. And then the strange thing potentially, well, it's not strange. I mean, it's weather. But if it rains, we were talking about this yesterday. What if there's a wet football?
I said it because I listen to you when you talk, Kurt. That the wet football is one, it's one thing, but it's the wind that really is something that would affect anything. But what if it's a wet day, a rainy day in this game? Yeah, I will say, depending on. The rain and how hard it rains, because that's one thing that you cannot control.
That if a ball is wet, and it slips out of your hand, it slips out of your hand. And sometimes that can be the nature too of Super Bowls because, as you know, they try to bring in new footballs in the Super Bowl like every play in the first half.
So they can give them away or do whatever they do. And so oftentimes, the The balls aren't broken in really, really well. all the way through until they get whatever that cycle is evolved in.
So A wet ball, a slick ball, could that have a hand in a game without question? And you have to think if that were the case. it would probably lean in the direction of the bucks. you know, putting into the Bucks Staber because they they run the football normally. Better.
Tom Brady has dealt with a lot of weather and kind of the nature of how they play as opposed to throwing the ball down the field. But gosh, you know, this is why I want all playoff games inside. I do not want to see Mahomes against Brady in the rain, not being able to play their best.
So I really, really hope that it's a beautiful night, and we get a chance to see our biggest stars. Play their best football on the biggest stage. Last one for you, Kurt. I promise. I know you got to run.
But, you know, the last quarterback that Brady got, also a Ram in Goff. Are you surprised, Kurt, about what happened with Goff, McVay, Rams, Lesnead, Rowan, just going for it, pulling out all the stops, getting Stafford here? Were you surprised by that? Yeah, I was surprised by it. A young quarterback that has done nothing but win, that has led you to a Super Bowl.
in his young career. Um yeah, I'm really surprised that uh that he's not there and won't be the guy there for the long haul. Um, but I also see the other side of it: is that you know, Matthew Stafford is a unique talent, he's a guy that. Gives almost every team in the league an upgrade from a physical standpoint, and a guy that can do what only a few guys, like the Rogers and the Mahomes, and those guys can do.
So I understand the intrigue there of that. And I think on paper, you might say to yourself, well, this makes. us a little bit better. you know, from a big picture standpoint. But um You know, but I'm fascinated.
I'm fascinated by it all because, you know, we're we're in a league that what have you done for me lately? And we're always looking for the next big thing. And I just, you know, I feel bad to a degree for Jared Goff because he's done nothing but the right things and nothing but win. And now he's moving on to another place, and I wish him well. And I'm excited to see what this Rams offense can be with Stafford and that division.
You know, it's a great division already, and it's going to be fun to watch.
Well, I know I said you have to go. I think I heard your Skype. Is that your QB confidential call for your new website that you're going to ready to go? I'm actually going to go interview Russell Wilson in just a second. Oh, my gosh.
All right. But, yeah. But I appreciate it. QB confidential. I'm going to be launching here in the next couple months.
I know you've seen some of the videos that are out there on social media, but it's It's just a teaching and instruction platform that I've built. kind of through the pandemic to really reach The masses with my passion for this game. Whether you're a fan or a coach or a player that wants to grow in your knowledge and understanding or take your game to another level. I'm going to have stuff from Blackboard to on the field to in the playbook to in the film room, and then some motivational stuff based on my story to kind of. Get your mind right and the mindset that it takes to be great.
And so I'm pumped about it. You know, to follow me on at TV Confidential on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook. Obviously, Kirk 13 Warner. Is my Twitter handle where a lot of the stuff kind of goes out, and I'll be giving people updates and letting them know what we're doing. Hopefully, it'll be a great platform to impact our game for the next generation.
Kurt, I will see you on our, I guess, game day morning Zoom later on for our pre-show meeting later on today, and I'll see you in Tampa. Love you, man. We'll chat soon. All right. Love you too, buddy.
Can't wait to. Right back at you. There's Kurt Warner.
So, just real quick, and then we'll throw it a break here. Yet more I mean, literally every two seconds you can find something to say about how unique Brady is. And I know people might get so sick and tired of it, but I mentioned Goff, I mentioned Warner. He's interviewing Russell Wilson. That's another quarterback that Brady got in the Super Bowl.
That's three. The others are named Delone McNabb. and Matt Ryan. And one other thing too. Kurt Warner made the Super Bowl three times.
Remember, he said he wanted to make it as a kid, he wanted to make it five, right? See, he made it three. He made it three twice with the Rams and once with the Arizona Cardinals. His three. Appearances in the Super Bowl He set the record for most passing yards thrown by a quarterback in the Super Bowl in each and every one of them.
All three of them. He was one, two and three in the all time single game passing record for the Super Bowl until Tom Brady stepped on the field as a thirty nine year old against the Falcons and a 40 year old three day three years ago today. Against the Eagles. Brady now holds the top two. Single game passing records in Super Bowl history.
by throwing against the Atlanta Falcons in that remarkable overtime win, throwing for four hundred sixty six yards. And then three years ago today, five hundred and five yards in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. As a 40-year-old Quarterback. Nick Foles threw for 373 in that game, which is fifth all-time. And there's Kirk.
844-204-Rich, number to dial Chris Brockman's news update when we come back. And I've got a little bit to talk about on Wentz myself. That's coming up next on the Rich Eisen Show here on a busy Thursday.

What was it? How long ago was it? Five years ago? I don't know where you go. It was five years ago today that this show made history.
Did something nobody's ever done, and I prophecy no one will ever do it again. got a press pass for Calvin Broadus, At the Super Bowl. That's true, yeah. And handed him a Rich Eisen Show microphone and said, Snoop Dogg, you are our correspondent for the day with the Broncos. and the Panthers at Super Bowl fifty.
I am the one and only Snoop D.O.W.G. reporting for the Rich Isaac Show. My job is done here, but now I'm off to see the Carolina Panthers so we can... Damn. Damn.
Where's our boss? First like into the left hand. Noob can.
Now I'm here working the media, baby. Talk to me, huh? Yes, sir. First of all, I want to say Cam. Yeah.
Oh, Cam. Cam. Cam, damn for me. There you go. Jared Rodeo Allen.
Oh, my goodness. What's up, dog? What's up, brother? We're rocking the same. Yeah, I like it.
I'm with you today, baby. Talk about America. Man, how do you feel playing in the first Super Bowl in your career, man? I couldn't feel any better, and then you showed up, and now it's even cooler. Yeah, you just validated that this is cool.
I got three kids in the audience that want footballs. Make their dream come true. Depends on where they're sitting. They're sitting right where they're supposed to be sitting.
Okay, say no more. All right, Tim, I'm going. Take me to that DV, man. I want to see if he can stick me. You don't see this six foot four wide receiver standing outside, ready for that order, ready for that bachelor.
Putting the best in the game. Look at boy. I've been watching football since the 70s, boy. You know back there. See, I'm going to do it like a real low.
Hello. Man, lock her. Snoop don't remember me. Sack. That C, it's Khalil right here.
She's not gonna remember you. You just got a little bigger and stronger, dog. I was that C for life. Fight on. When you get a sack, can you get me a dad?
Done. Done. I'm looking forward to it. Done. Sack.
I'll do that. Our dad did. Sack. Damn. I need to find where you're at.
That is a hard time. All right, rodeos. Freaking sweet bad. Hey, sir, we're here one way. Yes, sir, with the kicking crew, the whole crew, man.
Now, when it comes down to this crew winning this game, I'm telling y'all right now, I'm calling it. We had them an after-party with just us. I don't know if you guys really understand how cool that is. I just listen to this music when I was like a little child. Rich, I told you, man, you picked the perfect guy for the job.
I guess I will go into analyzm. Is that what you call analyzm? For the Rich Eisen Show for the next five years, for the next five Super Bowls. Thank y'all for joining me. It's been real.
Until we meet again, DPG see you. What the fuck? Yeah. That is awesome. Like speechless right now.
Jared Allen gave voice to our entire crew. when we thought the same thing about Snoop Dogg, we're back on the Rich Eyes and Show Radio Network. It was five years ago today that we gave Snoop a press pass. Because the Thursday before a Super Bowl, it's the media day. It's the last media availability for players.
They give the NFL says, okay, you've talked every day since you've arrived in the Super Bowl City. You're off. You're off the rest of the week. You don't have to speak to anybody until right after the game. Since the last media availability for the players, the players have been asked every question that they could possibly be asked.
There's no bulletin material coming. None of them want to be there. None of them want to be there. They're all done. They've been asked something Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
There's no more questions to ask. And literally, they look at the media and they say, Why are we here? Why are you here? Have you not had your crack at asking me a question over the last three days of media availability? Why are you here?
Why are you making me be here? Literally, that is the sensibility of a player who's even the most professional player and loves talking to the media, who doesn't mind talking to the media. That's literally the mindset of every player on the Thursday of a Super Bowl week.
So we thought, let's send Snoop in there. Hmm. 'Cause Snoop came on our show, I believe, the year before. He came on our show the year before or two years before and mentioned at the Super Bowl that he wanted to be, or he came on the show here in Steve. He was in here in Steve.
And he said he wanted to be part of the paparazzi. He'd love to be a Super Bowl correspondent. And we said, okay.
So we got him a press pass through the NFL, like the press shield that we just showed. That he's wearing, I do believe, said his given name, Calvin Broughtis. Did they put his government name on there? Yes, they did. They did, yeah.
Yeah, because you've got to get all checked out. And that's what it says there. It's a picture of Snoop, and it says Calvin brought us on it from a Rich Eisen show, which was just dynamite. Amazing. Amazing.
And he's holding the mic flag, and we sent him in. And every player you just saw that would just be sitting there and just read, really? I got to answer. Oh, Snoop's here. And you saw Jared Allen just saying to all the members of the media that are in front of him, like, you have no idea, many of you have no idea just how cool that was.
Not as cool as it was for us. That's for sure. That's pretty awesome. It was just dynamite. And he was great at it.
And then he came in the next day. On the Friday of Super Bowl 50 week in our setup in the Presidio. That I don't know if it was ATT yet, DirecTV, Chris Long and Dan York and James Crittenden, people who are. Just we, you know, I reached out to all of them this week to say, hey. Those years that we were on these sets that were incredible, and thank you, and we don't take it for granted, and whatever.
Snoop came by on the set of the Presidio, where you saw the Golden Gate Bridge through our window. and he talked about it. Let's review Snoop's work. Here we go. He loved it.
He loved it. And so did everybody. You know, Cam was answering questions, Peyton Manning. Super Bowl 50 quarterbacks are like, really? Like, we're done talking.
Oh, it's Snoop. It's Snoop? Analyst. Can we start using that word now? Analystm.
Analyze. I'm going to do some analysts. Yep. 844-204 Rich number to dial. Before we get to your news update, Chris.
I'm going to do this. Oh. Because as you know, I always talk about people confirming stories that are being reported, right? We always do that.
So it's just confirmed the reporting. Right. And we always have fun with the way that they term the source that is allowing them to either report it or confirm it. We have our phone with that.
Well, now I'm in those shoes. Oh. I have spoken to somebody during this show. communicated with this person during this show. familiar with the Eagles' plans.
And I can confirm. Carson Wentz is on the trademark. Right now. He is on the trading block. As we converse.
I will confirm these reports.
Source knowledgeable, however you want to put it.
Source close to the situation. I don't want to even determine anymore about how close or what. And because Ian Rappaport and others in the media group are saying the Eagles are fielding calls, they're not hanging up. He's on the market. He's being, he's, he's, people are, we'll see how it goes.
I, I, it's, there's, in the same way, that we've never seen A player Under the current construct, again, the new collective bargaining agreement that was.
Well, it's not new. The previous version of the collecting bargaining agreement that just got renewed changed the way that you paid. Draft choices. Prior to the Previous collective bargaining agreement. that came out of that awful lockout of 2011, 2011.
Anybody who got drafted, Stafford got drafted by the Lions, became the highest paid player in the history of the Detroit Lions before even taking snap from. And the league, Jamarcus Russell, became the highest paid Raider in the history of that organization before taking snap. And the league owners were sick and tired of that, saying we need to see something before we pay them. pizze them in a way that they are the best player in the history of our franchise.
So, you draft somebody, and then you give them five years, and you have to pick up a fifth-year option, and so on and so forth, and then you sign them a long-term deal. You've seen enough. We've never seen somebody who's seen enough, gotten the deal, and then thoroughly. fall apart. Like the way we saw Carson Wentz.
Golf, you could say, was deemed no longer Viable by the Rams or whatever, but it's not the same. It's not the same. It's not the same. It's definitely not the same.
Okay, and so Whence We've never seen a situation like this.
So, this trade that might be in the offing, that the Eagles want to be in the offing, it appears. We've never seen this before. Like, what do you ask in return for a quarterback who's cost this much and was so costly with this play that he had to be benched? What do you ask for? Because at least the Rams were flipping you a quarterback.
who was drafted right before West. With the two first rounders, because how expensive Goff's contract is. What's Wentz going to get? What you gonna net? Because you're not going to ask for a quarterback back.
They've got hurts. Right. And then you've got Joe Banner, former Eagles executive. Can you put that tweet up, Don Bowie, please? The former Eagles executive, Joe Banner, pointed this out about what, would you say, about an hour ago?
At this point, it seems clear that Carson Wentz will not be an Eagle this coming season. People should be realistic about what Eagles may get back. It will depend on how many teams are really interested. Either they will draft someone or they are betting on Hertz as their starter.
So he's not even saying that. He's saying the Eagles might even consider drafting somebody. That's how wide open and unprecedented this situation is. Oh man. And then you just saw what happened with Stafford and Goff.
And then you got whatever the hell's going on with Watson. And what Dominoes might also fall, how the Colts are going to fill their spot. Just for starters. What are the Jets going to do with Darnold and that second overall pick? Or could possibly.
I mean, Tua is everywhere this week saying, I believe I'm the starter. Right. Okay. Sure. Also, this weekend in the sports world on NBC, you can catch the Waste Management Phoenix Open Saturday, round three, Sunday, round the final round, three Eastern Time.
So get ready for Super Sunday. Check out some of the best players in the world, one of the best fields all year long, the Waste Management Phoenix Open. On the NBC. There you go. 844-204-Rich is the number to dial here on the show.
So, Chris, I'll give you a dealer's choice. You want a brief? Sport news update, or we could take a break and then come back and give you that. Let's take a break and come back. We got some sound about Matthew Stafford.
Okay. And some other stuff.
Well then, let me take a phone call in. Yeah, we might need some time. Let's sneak a phone call in. Connor in Denver, Colorado has been hanging on for a while. How are you, Connor?
How you been? Really good, Rich. How are you? I think the last time you called, I accused you of taking a gummy. Is that true?
No, I think that was another gentleman in Boulder, Colorado, but I wouldn't be surprised that it was all of them. I don't mean to all lump you in. I don't mean all you lump you in together, but go for it. You know, sometimes it's just that side of the stock market. But hey, so we're looking at this Super Bowl coming down, and Brockman.
I wanted to offer one little tidbit to you, and then I just had a question to you, Rich.
Okay. Brockman, the tidbit to you is. Did you have any idea that Tom Brady is O for ten. In any sort of touchdown being scored in the first quarter. Of all his Super Bowl games, they've never seen either, yeah.
Yeah, it's shocking. The most he's ever scored in the first quarter is three points to everybody on the crew. How about that? That's unbelievable. Really weird stat.
I would say that gets ended on Sunday. You think so? I do believe so. I do believe so. But my question to you guys is: do you believe that.
The Chiefs are going to come out with the same type of preparation that they came out with last year, where they surprised everyone and came out with the option. They ran more option plays than they had all season long. They threw off a San Francisco front that was stout, ready for what they thought was coming in that Super Bowl, was completely different. And when you re-look at the tape, you start seeing that Patrick. has an ability with Reed's play calling.
To start making off you know, I guess off schedule plays, if you will. But more or less, with the combination of the running game. And I'm curious if Clyde Edward Tolaire has truly come back from his injury. Because last week, or two weeks ago, against the Bills. They didn't run the ball all that much.
And that was so surprising to me as a person who watched them run it thirty plus times in week six.
So, is there something we don't know? I don't know. I think the rookie is going to be ready to go, personally. You do? I do.
I really do. And certainly, you know, here's the issue, though, for him and the Chiefs' running game is that that's the teeth of the Bucs defense. Even when Jameis was throwing all those pick sixes last year, the Bucs run defense was number one in the league. I mean, and so that's one thing that they're going to be buttoned up on, but. Again, if it and thanks for the call.
Really appreciate the passion and knowledge, and I didn't mean to lump everyone in this great state of Colorado together on the gummy front. But you know, I mean And coming out with stuff that you've never seen before. Of course, they're going to do that. Of course, that's a hallmark. That's where, you know, the Andy Reid coming off of bye week, even when he had all those clock management problems and we were carping on all his negatives and his problems of being a head coach that have completely all disappeared now that he's in Kansas City.
Even with all that, He was still great coming off of the bye week, all prepared up. And I will share this story. Last year, last year's Super Bowl. to host this show. And be back here in this chair from Miami to host this show.
I left the Super Bowl. after the first quarter to get to the airport to fly home.
So When at the end of the first quarter, nearing the end of the first quarter, and they were on the what, four or five yard line or whatever, and I'm thinking, okay, they're going to kick a field goal. I went to the restroom. I went to the restroom to get ready to get in the car to get to the airport. And I come out and I'm like, how the hell did they get six points? And then I looked.
At my Twitter feed, because anything that happens immediately, immediately then happens in the palm of your hand. I'm learning about what, the 1948 Rose Bowl? That's where they uncorked that play from. Like, literally, I'm sure Bienemy's looking at the 1934 Blue Bonnet Bowl tapes right now, film.
So, and you know, Arians knows this too. Oh my gosh. The old war horse coaches with their staffs that are just dynamite from Bienemi to Lethwich to Bulls to Spagnolo, they are just going to be all sorts of chess games going on on Sunday. Hell of a matchup. Can't wait.
Take a break. We'll come on back. Chris Brockman's news update, as promised. 844-204-Rich. Jamal Adams and Stefan Diggs also coming up in hour number three.

Okay, so we didn't just send Snoop towards the Panthers on Super Bowl 50 Thursday. No, we sent him in the direction of the Broncos as well. Yeah. Good morning, world. This is Big Snoop, D-L-W-G, aka Coach Snoop, reporting live from the Broncos secret location for interviews for the Rich Eisen Show.
as only I can deliver.
So roll with me as I push through all these other media. to show them who is the number one and getting these questions asked and answered. Rich Eisen, we about to take over, baby. Peyton Snoop Dogg from the Rich Eisen Show, and I get a 50% discount on Papa John's pizzas when I'm in the state of Colorado. Absolutely, absolutely.
Snoop, Snoop, come holla at me, man. When it's time for my brain. Yeez! What up, Jay Gary? Nothing much.
How you doing? How I feel to be back home, baby? Feel great to be back home, man. I heard that you don't lose when you're at the house. That is true.
What's your record at the house? Maybe like 90 and though since Pop Warner, so man, I've just been doing it. You know, I play with you on Madden, right? Believe that. You my man.
I'll never help you out. I leave you over there one-on-one all the time. All the time. 21 reasons, boy. Believe that.
What's your speed like? What's your 40 time? Look at 40, probably. Oh, yeah, you fast. You be catching running backs from the back.
I'm like, wolf, the wolf is holding the loser. Like, who is that?
So that's the wolf, baby. This job's tougher than you thought it would be. This job is easy. Easy, crazy, man. You believe when we get paid to do this?
Hey, y'all get paid for this? Hey, Rich, I need some money, man. They didn't tell me they get checks for this, man. Hold on. Hey!
Do you feel like some of those games that you played in as a kid prepared you for this moment? Planning those different states against that different competition? Yeah, you know, I think, you know, that time I went to Florida, you know, my mom, she actually told me to tell you how she, you know, she wanted to write you a letter because it changed, it changed my whole view. Yeah, and she was like, I wanted to thank Snoop and all this other stuff, but it definitely helped me and prepared me to, you know, get to this level. But tell her I said, you thanking me right now, my planning the Super Bowl.
I'm proud of you, boy. Make us proud. My success to you, boy. Man, much success in y'all, man. Look at it, dog.
So, there you have it. All access. The original, the genuine. Good morning only. D-O-Double-G.
We about to go to. Holler, remote business down the street with the Panthers. But in the meantime, in between time. Let me count the ways. Love it.
How about that? I forgot Ronnie Hillman played in the Snoop League and then he played in the Super Bowl, which was huge for Snoop. The Snoop League, the Snoop is a dynamite coach. He and Deion, I think, played their youth leagues teams against each other in Canton when Deion went in the Hall of Fame. Oof, wow.
Snooper Bowl. Oh my gosh. I do love Snoop Dogg. Thanks again for doing that, Snoop. Five years ago today at Super Bowl 50.
Come on. Back here on the Rich Island show, 844-204-Rich. Number to dial.
Okay, Christopher. the much hyped throughout this hour. Rich Eisen Show news update from Chris Brockman here on the Thursday before Super Bowl 55. Yeah. Um And now, with a report of the day's news from the world of sports and entertainment, someone who is not a journalist or newsman by any definition of the word whatsoever, it's Chris Brockman.
All right, Christopher, what do you got over there? One quick correction to something you said at the end of last segment, Rich. The first blue bonnet bull was 1959. Ah!
So that's the tape they're looking for. I think I was just saying 1930, whatever, for effect, Christopher. I understand, but I just wanted us to be accurate. the show. Just peractors.
Suddenly, you're trying to win Peabody's over there. Literally, we're just getting Tom Broca. I was just feeling. All right, all right. No, it's Super Bowl.
You're right. We got to step our game up. You're right. You're right. We got eyeballs.
We got eyeballs on us. 1959, the first blue body. The Belmont Stanks. Every June, right?
Okay. All right. I saw this this morning. Teddy Bruski, Patriot Great, ESPN analyst, I think, new assistant coach or advisor at Arizona. He was on the radio in Boston talking about uh Matt Stafford.
Just roll the tape. This is what he had to say. No, Stafford saying he didn't want to go to New England, whatever. I think people know why, right? I mean, just a personnel, I get it.
But the draw in New England. He's not tough enough to play here. He's just not tough enough. I mean, he's not, I don't think he's tough enough to be coached hard. I mean, do you uh do you realize the mental toughness that Tom Brady had to have for 20 years to deal with Bill Belichick.
I mean, in that type of coaching, I mean, constant pressure every single day. Does Stafford sort of You know, sort of grab you as a guy that could handle that. I just don't think so.
So If he went to Sean McVay and get his little best friend relationship and go have fun over there, that's fine. Wow, that's from WDEEI Radio, huh? Ordway, Merloni, and Fourier. Is that Lou Merlone and Christian? Lou Merlone and Christian Orlando.
Oh, okay, cool. Glenn Ordway. Glenn Ordway. Okay, W-E-I. I'm glad we played that because I thought maybe he was just being facetious or joking, but.
Didn't sound like no. I mean, not tough enough. Not tough enough. I'm taking a look right here at the injuries that Stafford had. Back, right hand, left hand, ankle quads, ribs, right upper arm, hip, right finger.
Didn't he also have a. a shoulder that popped out and he came back in and he beat the Browns in a regular. One of the greatest miced ups Steve Sable ever heard. I'll just say this. I'm sure Teddy's pounding the table and he and Patricia are probably tight.
Just putting things together. I shouldn't have put words in his mouth. Those are his words. He couldn't be more wrong, as far as I'm concerned. And I do love Teddy.
But here's what I'll say this to my I'll say this to all Patriots Nation. I say this to you. I'll say this to you, and I'll say this to all Patriots Nation as a man also who's gotten to be fortunate to say I've. Spent time with Belichick and I've I've seen his greatness up close. And in Bill, you should trust, no question about it.
Right now, though. You don't have the roster. Two. have a a guy who's Got two years left on a contract, age 33, which he will be on Super Sunday, and age 34. You don't have that window right now.
Belichick or not? You don't have the roster? And Patriot Nation, very prideful as well. You should be, you better get used to it. Get used to it.
And if Stafford and Patricia didn't get along, why the hell should he go to where Patricia is now? Why should he do that? Why should he sit there and go, oh, sure. I don't want to go live in Los Angeles, California and get my best buddy relationship, whatever, with McVay. You know, because I don't want to be coach tarred by Belichick?
Like. If Bill had the team, if Bill had the weaponry, if Bill had a team that wasn't seven and nine this year, if Bill had a team that did make the divisional playoff round. Maybe Stafford and didn't have the the coach that he You know Over the last few years, wasted the last three years. Wow. Honestly, like, this is the rational.
Way to approach it. Like, why should he go to New England? Because I want to be coached hard? And if Brewski is very prideful, as well as he should be for Lowe's championship, get used to it. As I said, the day Brady left for Tampa, I looked at you, Chris.
I looked at the rich eyes and show audience down the camera, as I frequently do, and say, Welcome. To the rest of us. All the stuff. That didn't get through the velvet ropes of the Brady Belichick, two decades of the dynastic years. All the stuff that would tear a locker room apart or bring a team down, all of that stuff.
that never seemed to affect New England, The minute Brady left, I'm like, welcome to the rest. of us.
Now you're here. Doesn't feel great. Yeah, it's terrible. Doesn't feel great, but that's what that sounded like to me. You know, bitter party of Brewski.
Welcome in a Body pal. That's right. Bring it on Bruski. All you have to do to check his toughness is, I think you may have even posted the video from 09. Shoulder pops out.
He's yelling, everybody, get away from me. I can throw the ball one more time. And by the way, if Bruski, again, I don't know what it is. If Bruski thinks he's doing his buddy Patricia a favor, this makes it sound like Patricia's whispering in his ear about Stafford's mental toughness. And, you know, like, that's what that sounds like to me.
Strikes me as really. You know what? Whatever. I do like Teddy a lot. Yeah, of course.
That one is what we call what I would follow as a bad take. Bad take. What else, Chris? All right, so I saw this today. Kareem Jackson used to play with the Texans, played two years with Deshaun Watson.
Told TMZ Sports that he's spoken to Deshaun. And that Deshaun is, quote, interested in? The Denver Broncos. Is he really?
Okay. Okay. I'll just say this to Deshaun, who I also love. Why in the world would you want him go Into Mahomes' division. Why would you want to do that?
I understand you got to beat the be the best. You got to beat the best or whatever.
Well, beat the best once. Once you try and just get that one shot. You got the one shot. Take your best swing in that one shot. Why twice a year?
And maybe three times. What are we doing? Play as far away from homes and the Chiefs as you possibly can. In my thought, go to the and the Texans don't want to see him. Once a year maybe, or you see him once every four years.
They want to send him to the NFC. That's the first thing they say. Hey, Deshaun, I know you got the no-trade clause, but Denver, really?
Okay. I don't know how much truth it is, but Kareem Jackson is saying that he spoke to Deshaun. Interested in Denver. We'll see. You know, Kareem's a friend of the show.
We can maybe call him up. Put him back in here. He says he's spoken to Deshaun and. Did he get Deshaun's permission to start? Telling that tale out of school?
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. All right. You see this bizarre story yesterday involving the Chiefs and the barber, and then the barber tests positive, mid-haircut.
Daniel Kilgore, the center, posted that hilarious picture, Photoshopped of his half cut.
Well, Demarcus Robinson and Kilgore have tested negative for COVID every day since their haircuts last weekend. As long as that continues, they're going to rejoin the team on Friday. Robinson, Kilgore on Saturday should be on track to play. Did you have in your NFL 2020 season, pre, I mean, regular season and postseason bingo card, two members of a Super Bowl team potentially not playing because their barber had COVID-19? And got yanked mid-haircuts.
Mid-haircut in Kilgore's profile pic of him playing. Putting half of his hair on and the other half is bald is just hilarious. And I'm glad he's able to joke about it and that he didn't get it. And and I I've I talked about it. with friends and w we're all like Why Why do you need the fresh cut?
Like, what are we doing here? Like, pictures and all that stuff. What, what?
Well, by the way, on the list to get a haircut that day was Patrick Mahomes. Just go, go home. Don't, don't, just whatever. A bowl in your head and just cut it yourself. Like it's the Super Bowl and COVID-19 and pandemic.
What are we doing? And for anybody out there, Rich, there are 25. Hold on a second. I must say this. And I don't care what else you got on your news update.
We're going to take this to the end. I will say this. Anybody out there saying, well, Rich, what do you know about the haircuts? I get mine cut twice a week. I may not have it, but what I've got grows a.
Twice a month. What I say? Use it twice a month. Oh, twice a month. My bad.
I get mine cut. Thank you. I get mine cut. I'm so hyped up about it. I can tell.
I get mine cut once. Every two weeks. Bi-monthly. Is that right? Yes, that's right.
I get mine cut bimonthly because I may not have a lot. What I've got grows like a chia pet. And even me, I'm just like thinking to myself, I can't run the risk, get my hair cut before the Super Bowl. I just can't. I won't do it.
It's too big of a bra. I got eight and a half hours I got to do. That's a lot. I'm going to hop on this flight out to Tampa dressed like I'm going to. Get ready to cook and break in bed.
I'm going dressed as like Heisenberg, cooking up blue ice in a. In an RV in the desert in New Mexico. That's how I'm gonna board this plane. Settle down just a little bit. And then I'm gonna go in a hotel room, and you're not gonna see me.
I got a buddy of mine. Who lives in Florida? Is like, you want to meet for a drink? I'm like, are you out of your freaking mind? How are the Chiefs saying, let's go get my hair cut?
Yeah, that doesn't make sense. What? The what? Like, Mikey and Dawn and I were talking after the show, and Del Tufer brought up. He's like, TJ, you went nine and a half months without going to a barber.
And I'm like, yeah, it's a Super Bowl. Like, don't do anything that's going to take you out of this game. Who is the person who went up to Andy Reid and go, oh, by the way, the barber tested positive for COVID? I'm like, that's it. I don't care who you are.
Shut it down. Get him out. Shut it down. I do get my hair cut frequently. All right?
Not twice a week, though. Not twice. Not twice a week. But I am hyped. Unhinged Eisen.
Jamal Adams, Stephon Diggs, and your phone calls. Hour number three of this Thursday edition of The Rich Eisen Show, prior to Super Bowl double nickel. We're back on the radio in a moment. Back here on our Peacock feed, Don, do you have our Throwback Thursday photographs all teed up? Let's do this, Chris.
Because we're going way back, as you know, we've been showing videos from five years ago today where Snoop was our Thursday Super Bowl 50 media correspondent. I decided to go on the phone. Let me take a look at some photographs in my phone from February 4th and just see what Super Bowl memories pop up. Awesome. Here we go.
The first ever NFL Honors. NFL Honors turns 10. It's the 10th anniversary of the NFL Honors. NFL Honors is so great. I love it.
So here I was working the red carpet. Look at Tim Thibault. Look at me and Timmy. Man. Tim Thibault in 2012.
That was in Indianapolis, Indiana. That was the night before Mario Manahan caught that ball from Eli, sorry to bring up bad memories. This was from the Super Bowl in San Francisco. Look at that. Five years ago, Snoop did that stuff for us that day.
There I am with Charles Woodson. Who's going to the Hall of Fame this weekend? He definitely is. That was uh all right. The Wheels Up party had a lot of great people.
There I am with the awesome Kara Henderson Sneed and the current. NFC head coach Bruce Arias back in the day with the Arizona Cardinals. What are you smoking, bro? Give me something. Uh-huh.
He didn't say that to me that day. That was five years ago. There's Travis Kelsey from the same Wheels Up party. What is he wearing? Look at that lid.
Wow. Go to my Instagram feed for the shoes. What an outfit. He had gold shoes on as well. I asked him on Instagram because I put these on Instagram.
He hit me back saying, ah, the memories. I'm like, where's the hat now? He has yet to respond. This is three years ago, the day of the Eagles beating the Patriots. Game day morning.
Willie out there on the field with me and Mooch and Kurt. Look at Irv in his sub-Super Sunday vest. And then after this is the during the game, I'm in the room where it happens. That's President George Washington, Christopher Jackson from Hamilton, Aaron Burser. Nice.
Leslie Odom Jr. Fantastic. Yep. and another sweet mate of mine after the game. Yeah, Brockman, I'm not looking too great.
But I was rocking the Rich His Show hat. How's that? Hey, and there you are. How cold was it? It was like three degrees right now.
It might even have been cold. It was so cold. My face was probably frozen that way. It was so cold. It was cool.
When the Philly special happens, the Patriots lose, and then. That's a long walk of shame right there, Christopher. Cold walk of shame that night. That was a fun day, though. It sure was.
Jamal Adams, the Prez of the Seattle Seahawks, formerly am I JETS and our T-H-R-E-E.
