Covering the biggest game. To me, it is how are they gonna handle Kelson? The Rich Eisen Show. Earlier on the show. Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Davis.

Pro Football Hall of Famer Kurt Warner. Coming up. Seattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams. Plus Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefan Diggs. And now.

It's rich. Hour number three, the Rich Eisen Show on the Air here from Los Angeles, California. I am your humble host, Rich Eyes and Chris Brockman. Mike Del Tufo across the way, as they always are at their posts, or at least when Mike is not doing something else for some other place, doing something that we never know what he's doing. And then we've got TJ Jefferson, our social media grandmaester, settling into his chair.

We're right down the street from the Los Angeles International Airport. And one of the reasons why I mentioned that is we've got a tight schedule here. Planes are running on time. And a number of times that Liz Wald of our Of one of the top bookers in all the land, that she says to me, Hey, you know, they're going to call in, and then you got to get them out, and then you got to. The number of times I've been.

told that I need to be disciplined. I've lost track, and guess what? I can be undisciplined. Chris, you got to help me out here. You got to keep me honest, okay?

You got to, buddy. You got to keep me honest. You got to get, because we got people here, and we got to get them on, and we got to get them through. And it's not just anybody, it's Jamal Adams and Stephon Diggs. Jamal Adams is going to be calling in in just a matter of time.

and then Stephan Diggs will be joining us on this programme. Chris Brockman, our poll questions currently stands at Rich Eyes and Show. What do you got over there, Chris Brockman? I put two up. If you were running a team, would you trade for Carson Wentz?

Oh, gosh, that's the way you put it, huh?

So the number of people, what is it, 70, 30, no? 80, 20, no? 76, 24, no. I know my audience. What's the most likely outcome on Sunday?

Chiefs win a close one forty four percent. Bucks win a close one. Twenty nine percent. Keep going. Chiefs win big, like Kurt Warner said.

Kurt Warner said he thinks by double digits. 24%. Bucks win big, only 3%. Only 3%? Barely, just a touch above milk.

Is there? 2% stay whole milk. Oh, almond? I gotta tell you something. I love all of them.

I really can. I can Really see where Kurt's coming from. I think Keeks either win big. Or the Bucks went outright. It's not going to be a close one.

Bucs could win a close one, but the Chiefs aren't going to win a close one. The Chiefs are either going to. Blow them out. Maybe not blow up, but 17, two scores. Or the Bucks are gonna pull it out at the end.

That's the way I just feel right now on Thursday. I want to see what the weather is heading into the game. I really think that's going to be a huge factor.

Well, you heard what Kurt had to say, is that The wet foot the rain won't affect the footballs because he said, I did not know this either. that they switch footballs out all the time. Get them away. In a Super Bowl. This ball was used in Super Bowl.

Well, I mean, and that's the thing: you know, quarterbacks are absurdly particular when it comes to the footballs because if you break a new one out of the box, it's very slick. I mean, we want We went through this before with Tom Brady. We don't want to go through that again. But you know. My gosh Uh if it's not windy, I think it won't affect much.

I'll just say that. But I'm looking at the way week 12 went, and I know you're supposed to throw them out. Uh I I I I don't know. I'm kind of talking myself into the Chiefs. Not having both their tackles, though, is a big thing.

No, and I know that. I know that. But I just believe in Reed and the coaching staff, and that room knows how to. get ready and I mean, it's their time. We're living in their world right now.

Right. And I know we're just paying rent. A caller brought it up earlier, too. Yes. Haven't seen much from the Chiefs run game recently.

I don't know how that's going to play. If it's wet, if it's soggy. Bucks we know have an experienced run game, Leonard Fournette, Ronald Jones. Or Shamako Adam, I don't know. Right.

And Fournette could be the bit different. Fournette could be a huge X factor. He could be a huge X-Factor. What if the Bucs suddenly just take the air out of the football? Who's the person who came on this week?

Said Chris Jones could be the big difference maker.

Somebody mentioned him. that defensive lineman right in the middle. who dropped into coverage and stepped in front of a kiddle pass that was wide open. in the fourth quarter last year. That led to the Chiefs getting the ball back and then eventually taking the lead.

You know. I also think about the Rams Patriots Super Bowl. We all thought that was going to be. A crazy shootout. That was the highest.

That's because it was the Rams Chiefs Monday night game earlier in the year. It's supposed to have been the death of defense in the NFL. And that is an interesting stat that one of our callers mentioned earlier in hour number two. That Brady's never Had a touchdown in the first quarter of any of the nine Super Bowls that he's played in. He's never had one.

And I remember the first Super Bowl we ever covered. The first Super Bowl we ever covered was At NFL Network was the Super Bowl, was Super Bowl 38? Yeah. where they beat Carolina. That game was s damn near touchdown lists until like halfway through the second quarter.

And it was setting records for the longest we'd ever gone in a Super Bowl without, and then all of a sudden, boom. And then the ultimate boom. was halftime.

Okay. Correct. The wardrobe bell function. If I believe, if I remember correctly, there were no points in that Super Bowl in the first and third quarter. All the scoring was in the first place.

In the second and the fourth quarter. And I remember being in the Gatorade suite. Name job for that swami. for that Super Bowl.

Well, the ultimate name drop was Kurt Warner when you heard the Skype noise in the background of our conversation. I'm sorry, I'm talking to Russell Wilson. But Kurt doesn't have a. a braggadocious bone in his body. Um But I remember I was in the Gatorade suite and they had in this suite Who were given tickets to the Super Bowl.

By Gatorade because They do take the science of their Drink seriously? I guess there really was. And I'm like, wow, it's not just, you know. Sugar and water, and it's supposed to replenish you. They really do have scientists over there.

And they said, they pointed, I'm telling you, they pointed. At the end of the third quarter, they pointed to the field. One guy points to the field and says. Look how they are. Toweling off the players on the sideline.

They didn't have the cool zone going on. No. They had the roof on. In NRG stadium, which was only two years old, it was easily. The biggest game played in the history of that stadium, and I'm sure they were selling out maybe during their first or second year.

But they'd never had as many people in that stadium as that day. And the air conditioning wasn't functioning in a way that you would think an indoor stadium would function. And the scientist turns to me and says to me, Look how they're tiling them off. There's no cool zones down there. These people, these guys are going to be gassed in the fourth quarter.

And sure enough. There was no defense in that fourth quarter at Super Roll. Zero. We had Willie and Steve Smith both known. They played in that Super Bowl.

Next time, remind me when the next time these guys are on, Chris. I don't need to ask them about that. And also need to ask them about this was pre-Twitter, pre-everything else, did they know? When they were out there playing in the third quarter, what the hell had just happened during the halftime show? Oh.

Did that somehow filter in? To all of them. Because I know that my Blackberry was blowing up from Texas. From people saying, What the hell was that? The old wardrobe malfunction.

That was the 19-year anniversary of that coming up. It was this past week. Blackberry. The old wardrobe malfunction. And I remember we were all over that, if you will, because the NFL Network first ever halftime commercial was slated to run right after the halftime show was over.

That was the tomorrow? That was the tomorrow. It was the annihilated song Tomorrow. Where Bill Parcells and Jerry Jones and others. We're um in it.

Warren Sapp was in it, I believe, in a sand trap. on a golf course and T O is I think uh uh shopping in a in a in a grocery store because the concept was Tomorrow, meaning the day after the Super Bowl, everyone's 0-0 again. Right. And the new. Football season begins.

And that was back when people needed to be reminded of that. Everyone thought the off-season football went away. NFL Network has changed a lot. And I'm not just saying that because I'm very proud of it. But we the commercial reminded everyone that NFL Network was going to be there every day after the Super Bowl was over to get you ready for the next season.

Thus tomorrow, they paid through the nose for the rights to that song. And got Parcells and Jerry Jones to sing it, and everyone else. Jerry Rice and Larry Fitzgerald, I think, was. Not yet in the league. I'm trying to remember who's in it.

But anyway. I remember we were all excited right around the television set in that suite. Like, couldn't we be ready to see it? And then all of a sudden, before, we're like, what the hell was that? None of us watched the commercial.

I don't think America did either. Mm-hmm. Wasn't that the most T-vote, to use the phrase again, moment? Reverse moment where you're rewinding it. All right, I'm watching the network commercial.

All right, guys, we'll do that in the commercial break. Let's come back so we're on time for our friend Stephon Diggs. I believe Jamal Adams is going to join us at the end of our hour today. The Commissioner, Roger Goodell, is taking questions. The State of the Union address, he's talking right now in Tampa, Florida.

So anything that, any news that's being made there, we'll also send your way. One of the best at his position, Stephon Diggs, when we come back on the Rich Eisen Show.

So, you know, we love talking movies around here. You know, we love talking comedy around here. We also love talking about classics around here.

So, you know what I'm all about. That said. All of that said, you know. You know how I must have felt when I was sitting in the movie theater like I was the other day watching the previews, and up came a preview. for the naked gun.

with Liam Neeson as Frank Repin, Junior. That Preview had me at hello. I loved police squad back in the day. I loved the naked gun back in the day. And here comes the naked gun once again with yes, Liam Neeson as Frank Drebin Jr.

Come on now, son of the celebrated police squad, Lieutenant Frank Drebin from the original movie, Paul Walter Hauser's in this movie, also Pamela Anderson. Guess who also makes an appearance? WWE superstar. Cody Rhodes, and the producer of the movie is Seth McFarlane, the creator of The Family Guy. Come on now.

This is going to be so much fun. I'm excited to see The Naked Gun in theaters on August 1st.

So. What do you do on August 1st? Of course, you're going to a theater near you and you're seeing the naked gun. I might even be there. Welcome to AutoZone.

What are you working on today? My car is making this noise.

Sometimes it's like sometimes it's like crrrw. Do you have a dashlight on? Oh, yeah. And we don't have to listen for clues. With the free FixFinder service, we can read a check engine, ABS, or maintenance light to find the likely fix and even recommend a local shop if you need one.

So you don't need to hear the crrr, not with FixFinder. Everything you need, nothing you don't. Getting the song out of Restrictions apply. Yeah. Where did the nickname Showtime come from?

It was my godfather, LaTroy Hawkins. Him and my dad, but really him, they would watch me play and I would make the dive and plays and stuff like that in baseball. And they said that I was always, it was Showtime when I was on the field. And so they always used to call me Showtime, especially my godfather LaTroy. LaTroy Hawkins.

That is a name I have not heard in a while. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a Minnesota Twins connection with your dad, right? Yes, pretty much. He came up a little bit after my dad, and my dad kind of took him under his wing, I think.

And then La Troy ended up having a great career where he played, I think, 21 years in the big leagues. I mean, he played forever, it seemed like. And I've stayed in touch with him forever. He still comes to a lot of my games, even now. And he's been someone that has been another great mentor for me.

Okay, Patrick, look, I appreciate you calling in here greatly. And I appreciate the text exchange that I had with you the other day, where you were gentle in rejecting my suggestion to give you a new nickname. Of the patch roll. I really appreciate that patch. It was a good idea.

I just kind of was playing down the nicknames as much as possible at that point.

So it's okay, great.

So you're saying, you're saying. No, no, no, no, no, you're saying that it's not a judgment on the actual creativity of the nickname, it's just you attempting to be humble. tamping down any of the accolades Right now, because you're focused on winning. Is that what you're saying? Yeah, I mean, just for me in general, I mean, it's all about the football, it's all about the team.

And so, I know that the nicknames are a cool thing to do with the social media and everything that's around right now, but for me, it's all about just being a teammate and someone that's just a part of this organization and a part of a team that wants to win.

So, if you had an ego, let's just, let's just, again, let's put it in a box here. You have an ego, you don't care about being humble at all. You're just pounding your chest. Nickname of the Patchel. Do you like it?

Be honest, be honest. I don't know. I've had so, there's been so many nicknames that have came out lately, and I'm just gonna kind of keep it at just Patrick right now. You're being polite. I like it.

How you're being polite. Yeah, thank you, though. I appreciate it. That was fun with Patrick Mo. Hey, man, I tried.

Um and I failed miserably once again. I'm gonna give up that ghost. I'm gonna give up that ghost. And tell someone else. I will just say to all the pats and mats of the world: I'm waiting for you.

Show up, shine out, and see if you deserve it. Yeah. 844-204-Rich is the number to dial here on the Rich Eisen Show. Jamal Adams was slated to call in at the top of this hour. He has been rescheduled for 20 minutes from now.

So he will join us to send us out, if you will, to play us out. We'll do it live. And that's the only other way I'm going to actually go in that direction.

Okay. Because if I do any more, it'll be difficult. for me to stay on the air here on the radio. 844-204-RICH. Number to dial here on our program.

The commissioner is speaking right now to everyone in Tampa, Florida. And if he makes any headlines, we'll jump out and tell them to you. We're back here on our radio show. Kurt Warner and Terrell Davis were on. Kurt went in the direction of Chiefs Big.

TD went Chiefs Small. Here's what I will say. uh Chris, because I don't know if I'm going to have time at the end of uh Jamal Adams. Do you want me to give my take here or at the end of this program? I'll do it at the end of the program.

Because I will say here as well, Andrew Ciciliano is sitting in this chair tomorrow because I've got to make my way to Tampa. Fantastic.

So, my colleague from the NFL network and NFL Media Group, as well as the Red Zone host. On DirecTV, Andrew Ceciliano is going to captain this chair on the Friday going into Super Sunday. Mooch is calling into the show, so you'll enjoy Mooch's minutes here on this program. I think he's going to have a tough time going against Andy Reid as well. I think he's going to take the Chiefs.

It's the safe play. I mean, I don't think it's a good idea. I don't know why that's the safe play. Why? Because they're defending Super Bowl champs.

Is that it? Defending champs, they have the rest of Las Vegas, Nevada has gone in that direction. That's true, but they have the best player in the NFL, which, you know, that helps. Two words, Tom Brady. Done.

Well, you chose the Buck before the season. I showed the Bucs. I chose them right here. This matchup and the Bucs to win. And I'm sticking with that.

Yeah, I mean, it's easy to make that matchup, you know, in week 19 of the season. You know, sure, you can But he did that in week one. He did that before. I mean, do we have we checked the tape on this? I don't know, no.

That's 100%. No, not. I vouched on it. You're co-signing on it to mulligan. I'm vouching on the Rams.

I was going to say, Richard, you're co-signing on it. I vouch.

Okay. Come on. All right, Mike. My bad. I vouch.

The only reason why I know I can vouch is: I remember thinking to myself, oh my God, Mike and I chose the same stuff. Yeah, because Rich, I had him too. I had them too. Bucks over Ravens. And then I jumped off that at Thanksgiving on NFL game day morning.

I jumped off that and I got on Chiefs over the Saints.

So Mike called it from day one. He did.

Okay. But who'd you have him over? You didn't have him over the Chiefs, did you? Yeah. You did have him that?

Oh, yeah. Okay. I had Bucs Patriots, but that was just a heart pick. Patriots. That was a heart pick.

Well, you also had the Cowboys winning the division. Yeah, but that's just because it was for TV. No, no, no, no, Bucks. You know, I had to say some stuff. Excuse me.

Before week one, that was a vogue pick. I heard a ton of people saying Dak for MVP.

Well, I mean, he was on his way. Yeah. He was on his way to having a Deshaun Watson-type season, which is a ton of yards for a team that couldn't win a game. We would have won games if he wasn't a gun hurt. Dude, come on.

When he got hurt, when he got hurt, when he got hurt, when he got hurt, the team had only one win, and that's because the Atlanta Falcons stared at a football spinning around in an on-side kick. We would have pulled it together. Dallas would have done better with Dakota. 100% I'm with DJ. We would have won the division.

You guys are out of your mind. 100%. I mean, half the season, you kept saying that, like, if Dak was in there. They would have done better. Defense was hot garbage the whole year.

But the NFC East all year week said how terrible that division was. Half, if not more, of those games in the game. I don't want to revisit that because I'm starting to sweat and it makes me nervous. But, Rich, you said something in hour one about Kurt, and you said that his life story should be a movie someday. I think it is a movie.

Yeah, Zachary Levi is playing Kurt, and Anna Paquin is playing Brenda. That's right. That's going to be fantastic. I got to talk to Kurt about that. Hey, when I say that, get you in there, man.

He's one of my favorite players, and I'm not just saying that because he's decided to call in and make us part of his stop of the Super Bowl on behalf of friends of Old Spice Dynasty, which gave us, I believe, if I'm not mistaken, our friend George Kittle earlier this week. What a dynamite season, an all-pro season from the Buffalo Bills. Stephon Diggs, how have you been, Stefan? My God, how are you doing? Thanks for having me.

Always nice talking to you. How are things? I am doing fine. I am better for talking to you. Dream season, right?

Is this what you dreamt of? Is this what you thought of when you were acquired by Buffalo? I wouldn't say I got that far in it. In the beginning of it, I was just excited to be where I was. I was excited to be around the guys where I was, like, getting to know Josh.

17's a hell of a guy. That coaching staff and the players that they have are truly special.

So I was really just. Focusing on that in that new family, in that new environment, earning my keep, earning my stripes, earning my respect to my teammates. And then things kind of just fell out in front of me. Things kind of just, the ball just got to rolling and it got bigger and bigger, and snowball effect, and good things happened.

So, Josh told me when I interviewed him for the pregame show prior to the AFC Championship game, that you and he are brothers, but very competitive. Like, that you. Actually, compete walking down the hallway to see who can walk the fastest. Is that true? Is that really a true story?

That story is true. Actually, he caught me one time walking from the weight room, and I was like this. Like, why is he walking so fast?

So I sped up a little bit, and then he continued to spin it, and then he just took off.

So I was like this. Obviously, there's a competition between quarterback and receiver, and it'll never stop.

So this is something I'm never going to give up. We compete on video games, who has the most kills, and who carries who. I think it makes for a great relationship, though. No, I hear you. And I ask this question with the utmost of respect, Stefan, so please understand that.

Talking about walking down the hallway fastest and playing video games. What are you guys, five? Are you guys five years old? Got to be five years old. We're writing on the walls.

We're getting in trouble by... We'll be joking around in the walkthrough. And then you'll have Coach Dayball come in, and he's super serious, but at the same time, he jokes sometimes, and he'll crack a joke and be like, all right, all right, Nuckley, get your butts back to work. And it makes for a great environment, great work environment.

Well, we saw the Can't Touch This danceathon that broke out before your first playoff game. We saw that. Was that your doing, your influence at all? It's the team, it's the team, big guy. Like, everybody's, we're not super uptight.

We're about our work. We get in, we get into practice, and we work extremely hard. But while we do it, we like to have a little bit of enthusiasm, a little bit of good energy. I tell Coach McDermott all the time: give me some of that good positive energy. I need some.

And he always got it.

So it's definitely just a team that's made up of the right stuff. Stephon Diggs here on the Rich Eisen Show.

So let me just now go to the way the season ended here. The photograph of you staring at the Chiefs celebration, accepting the Lamar Hunt trophy to win the AFC. Why did you do this? Why did you go out and do this look at it? from the most open place, I'll tell you, Rich, I was hurt.

Uh Rich, I'm a champion. I look at myself as a champion. I look at myself as a winner. And part of me felt like I let my team down. I didn't do enough.

Obviously, I didn't do enough. The better team won that day, and I wanted to, you know, not only just pay my respect. In a way, but be a part of just, you know, the better team one, give them their give them their credit. They're a good-ass football team. They're a team that went out there and did everything they can they could to win that game.

So, uh It hurt me to watch it, and I felt like I needed to watch it to further more motivation, more fuel to the fire that when you get back there, you want a different result, but remember this feeling. And I needed to go through it.

Sometimes you need to go through it, get through it, to go through it, or whatever, however that saying goes. Right, but why need? I mean, why, you know, why? I've been a guy that's been built off of adversity my whole life. I went to Maryland, University of Maryland, I stayed home.

I didn't get drafted early. All the reasons I had the chips on your shoulder, I got them. And, you know, I had my slices of humble pie from God as many times as I could. Here goes another one. You know, it's a moment where the season went so well, so many things, fairy tale, story.

But I didn't get all the way there.

So it's something for me to look back on and be like, this: why didn't you get all the way there? Could you have done things better? And embrace that moment.

So as far as I need, I felt like. You need to go through those things. Like, I went through a lot in my previous situation to get to where I am now.

So this isn't nothing different. I've been through I've been through bigger.

So uh just more motivation. What did you go through in your previous situation, Stefan Deggs? Come on now. I would say uh I would just say things things weren't as peachy as they are now. Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Yeah, it's gonna be a Were you playing video games with your previous quarterback? I don't know. I think that's, I'm just blaming it on myself. I wasn't playing enough video games with all my guys, man. One thing I can say: if you're playing video games and you're making handshakes with your guys, you're on the right track, and I needed to do more than that.

I learned, though. I learned, though. Okay. And so, yeah, how are you a different guy now through this season than you were when you were acquired from Buffalo? It's different.

I feel like I'm the same guy. I just feel like uh my surroundings are a little different. You know, I was dealing with a younger quarterback. You know, a lot of the guys that were pretty much are established uh or were in the league for a very long time. I was dealing with a young charismatic.

uh big heart guy that want to jump over the linebackers and run people over and step on people. Uh I was dealing with a quarterback that I that's young and I was uh I came at a great time to grow with.

So It's just, you know, all situations are different, but this one was one that it coincided and it worked well. Stephon Diggs here on The Rich Eisen Show.

Okay, how do you see Super Bowl 55, Stefan? Break it down for me. Tough, it's tough, Rich. The last time they played it was what, 27 to 24? I mean, I'm anticipating that usual high tempo or high octane offense of Kansas City.

And then you got a Tar Bowles defense that You know, they played a pretty good game the first time they played him. You know, they did not play a bad game. Trying to contain Tyreek Hill was one thing. He had some big plays in the first half.

So you eliminate those big plays, you got a different game at least. And I say it's hard to beat a team twice.

So, you can obviously know who I'm going with. Mulaf, my favorite player is Tom.

So, I'm gonna go with Tom and we can see what Father Tom can do. What do you mean he's your favorite player? What do you mean by he exemplifies the game of football and how you're supposed to approach the game, appreciate the game, and he has the passion? His passion is never mistaken for anything other than passion, not a distraction, not anything. It's coming from the quarterback position and it trickles down.

Something that you know I have a lot of respect for, and you know, I respect him as a not even just a player, you know, how he approaches life.

So, That's my favorite guy.

So, are you saying your passion was mistaken in Minnesota? Is that what you're saying? I'm just gonna hit the nail right on the head there. What do you think? It could have been.

It definitely could have been, because at times, it could have been a distraction, but anybody who knows me knows I wanna win. And I wanna win by any means. I don't care how we gotta do it. And I feel like if we're not doing it the right way, We gotta find a way to win.

So it could have been mistaken at times, 100%. But I came into this situation the same person that I was. And as I was on the sideline, I had trainers and I had coaches tell me that they never had that before. They never had that type of energy on the sideline of me going to my line and not only. You know, saying, let's go, let's get ready to go.

We gotta be better. I demand better from y'all, we gotta do better. Other than that, I don't just scold. I just be back there having their backs when they have a hell of a drive blocking or, you know, against the Patriots, they were blocking blocking their butts off, and I was like this. That's how you guys block.

You guys did a great job, and you know, just being that voice of your team, not just Not just coming from a place of just, I'm a receiver, I'm over here telling linemen, thank you for blocking, even if we're not throwing the ball. Coming from a a person of not only just leadership, just really embracing the guys that you're around. They don't they never got it mistaken not once.

So uh before I let you go then, sir, uh what are you doing with uh Old Spice? Oh, I'm talking a little bit about their new dynasty, old spice dynasty. You know, throughout this pandemic, some men might have been on the couch not using as much deorder.

So, Rich, Rich, I'm going to send you a little package to get activated with. But yeah, that's definitely what I'm talking about a little bit today: staying ready at all times, smelling good. I'm a guy that's big on hygiene and I like to smell good, so it's definitely something to look into. You can find it at your local Target.

Well, that's, I think, why you and I get along so well. I'm very hygienic. I'm a very hygienic person. But I'm also somebody that is not ashamed to accept free stuff.

So there we go.

Okay, so you understand that we're kind of locked up like that. Old Spice Dynasty getting available at Target and one of the best targets in all of football, Stephon Diggs.

So Super Bowl 56 out here in LA. You know. What do you think? Do I see you up the road here? Do we get to spend some time in person?

You got to tell me. Hopefully, I don't see you. I don't have any time to have this conversation because we're hard working at practice. No, I understand that, but you'd still find time for me, though, right, Stefan? Yeah, yeah.

That's what friends do. That's the day. That's what they say. We want to make sure about that. All right.

And, you know, interestingly enough, you know, who's playing in SoFA this weekend is your friend Steve Harvey from Family Feud. Uh, yes, yes, dear friend, dear friend. Family feud. I don't know if you caught that episode I was on. Oh, I did, Stephon.

Leave it blank. Leave it blank. Leave it blank. Don't show people that. All right.

Oh, no, it's okay. No, Bruce Smith won-upped you from the Buffalo Bills on that. I gotta see it. I gotta see it. Oh, google Bruce Smith Family Feud as soon as you hang up for me and understand you are no longer in the leader in the clubhouse as a Buffalo Bill in terms of moments with Steve Harvey.

Don't worry about it. I got you. Take care of yourself, Stephon. You'll be well. You got it.

Stephon Diggs, the one and only. That's Stephon Diggs. with an F, in case you uh don't know, on Twitter and Instagram. Leave it blank. Leave it blank.

Just go and Google it. Just don't even when I say just go and Google Stefan and then just the look he gives after he says the word because and then Steve Harvey, the host of NFL Honors, made quite the meal out of that one. Not as much as the Bruce Smith one. You do know that Brady Well it just comes with winning championships too. But quarterbacks who bark at their Um who bark at their teammates.

are just riling them up, right? Receivers who bark at their teammates are distractions. They're both and distractions. They're distractions. Yeah.

Did you catch that one? He says, Brady's my guy because his passion is not mistaken, it's a distraction. I'm like, okay, you open the door. Yep. I'm going to walk in.

Yep. And I'll tell you what, though, I will say this: the Vikings got themselves a winner in Justin Jefferson. Who I do believe is going to collect the award for Offensive Rookie of the Year on Saturday night, speaking of the honors with Steve Harvey. Don, do you have that photograph? I know I gave it to you a couple days ago, the one I snapped of SoFi the other night.

Because I am just mentioning this with the NFL honors. I went there Tuesday night. And um I'm sick and tired of doing this, quite frankly, eulogizing friends. Um Maura Mant, the longtime producer, executive producer, and giant behind NFL honors. I went there the other night.

She passed away in February, died suddenly, shocked everybody. And so I went to honors to the stadium the other night to Um To shoot a stand-up, if you will, an on-camera lead-in to her. memoriam. But that photograph of the of the stadium. Do you see it says NFL honors in the end zones?

It's pretty cool. It's just, I'm telling you. That stadium, that's shooting it from the 400 level.

So you've got your. You could see underneath the word stadium right there is the. The um The screens that Are on the other side of that Visa and SoFi Stadium sign. There's screens that go around the Oculus, I guess is what they're calling it. And that's from the upper deck.

So. That's behind, I'm shooting this behind the seat furthest from the field. Look at that sight line. You got any problem with that sideline? Sitting in the last row of the upper deck?

That's beautiful. That's the side. You can't go any higher than that. I can't wait to watch Matthew Stafford there next. Yeah, either can.

Don, sorry, put up one more time. Where are your seats in that stadium? I'm in the 300 level.

Okay, but on what yard line? On the Rams home side on the 20.

Okay, where are you, Mike? Second row, 40-yard line. I was looking in that second section.

So, if you are somebody who's seeing this on the screen and go, I can't wait to see a game there, look for Mike Del Tufo in his seats. You'll see him there. And I hope you don't mind sitting in the 300 level for a secondary market that Brockman will be very happy to send you because that's what Brockman does as a Rams fan. And Del Tufo goes to all games because he gets a pass from the Fox people, and you see him on the. He used to pass and then sit in the seats.

These are all moments we cannot wait to get back to. I cannot wait. I cannot wait to get back to those days where Del Tufo weasels his way onto the field and takes selfies when he's not supposed to and then goes in the stands and then Brockman sells his tickets. Can't wait. Can't wait.

Now, what do you want to ask this? Because I'm prepared to answer since I want three of these things. You're doing a radio show, a television show, and growing a beard all at the same time. It's a big game. What do you think?

What do you mean, what do I think? The score for me, 80, 83 to 6. I called it. I used to know you when you didn't have what's called. When I didn't have hair.

What's going on? Do you think I should? You're not really happy. What you're enthusiastical, but you're not really happy. My real name, which is three people called me, is actually Steve Onne.

Steve On. Steve On. Stevie Hall. Had you used that name? Everybody had a baby with a name, their baby, Steve Own.

Well, Steve Own, thanks for coming on. Y'all some dirt rubs. Who did you hear singing karaoke in the Gatorade Suite that night? It was a beautiful voice. Is this the young lady from Catching Kelsey?

No, this is not. Like an angel bringing us in. And there, we walk in and we see Rich Eisen, karaoke. Dude's noticing. It was one of those ground is in the cast.

It's tough to do karaoke now. People are filming all the time. Didn't they judge? And, you know, I get judged enough. I don't need to be judged on my singing ability.

I'm plus one in Roger Goodell's suite. Eenie, meanie, mighty, mo. Moe. Oh. He did not point to either one or you guys.

Your favorite talk show host: Rich Eisen, Dan Patrick, Ellen DeGeneres.

Well, you've got mail. It's not even the best Tom Hanks McBryan movie. The symbolic of the breaking of bread, I look at as the cutting of bread.

So on its side. Get him a nice parting gift, Leah, please. How's my posture? Is it confident? Yes, it is.

I mean, you're just like leaning back. Relaxed. Swag. How's my posture? It's all right.

Fun week that was three years ago in Minnesota, and uh, this is our seventh Super Bowl that we've been covering, or eighth. I can't even say seventh Super Bowl that we've been covering. Our first one was the Malcolm Butler Super Bowl. That's one way to put it. Um Hey, and that was in Phoenix, and it was a hell of a weekend because it's, as always, the Waste Management Phoenix Open is the same weekend as the Super Bowl, and this weekend is no different.

Thanks, Mike, for the music. We appreciate it. Got to get that thing rolling. Saturday, three Eastern, Sunday, three Eastern, rounds three and four can be seen on NBC coverage beginning today. on a golf network.

So there's all of that. What a hell of a feel, though, every single year. And then obviously. Remember Tiger Aced? Remember that one?

It was a big old party, man. And that was after Phil put it to within two feet. And then Tiger Acedon. That's just a great spot. There's so many wild fans in the Phoenix Open.

844-204, rich number to dial.

Okay, a friend of the program, once again, thrilled to have him on this year. And now he's back on in the postseason, courtesy of his friends, at Bolt 24, the Makers of Gatorade. Makes Bolt 24 and is presenting Jamal Adams, the Prez from Seattle. How are you, Jamal? My God, my God.

Everything is always great when I talk to you, man. I feel the same way. I feel the same way. It was great seeing you on NFL Network during our championship Sunday coverage as well. Was this the matchup that you thought we'd get, Chiefs?

And Paris. No, no, it's definitely not the matchup. I thought we would be there, but it didn't work that way, but that's okay. No, I meant outside of you. Outside of you.

Outside of you. Outside of you. Yeah, no, these guys definitely deserve it. They definitely deserve it. What is the issue you think that the defense is going to have with each quarterback?

Let's run through first. Mahomes, what do you think? Jamal. Yeah, he can escape the pocket, obviously, you know, on the move. You know, that's where he creates majority of his plays.

He's a very unique guy. Tom Brady, you just can't, you can't just. Blitzum, you got to be smart. It's got to be, you know, you're almost like you're playing chess out there, not checkers. He's seen it all, done it all.

It's going to be a heavyweight matchup, man. I can't wait.

Well, you've obviously gotten some experience to try and take Brady out and take him down. What is the challenge do you think for the Kansas City defense? They're also familiar with it as well, but I just want you to put us in your shoes here. Present. Yeah, just getting after Tom.

Obviously, he does not like being touched and being on the ground. But like I said, man, that's the pros and cons you deal with as far as blitzing because he's seen it all. He knows who's coming. He knows where it's coming from. And just playing sound defense.

you know, creating some turnovers. You know, whoever wins the turnover margin is definitely going to win the ballgame. What was it like playing in a playoff game for the first time? Jamal? It was nothing like it, man.

Obviously, you know, no fans, so it didn't really feel like a playoff game for me, for myself. Because when you think of playoff games, you think of the fans, you think of cold weather. You know, juice, energy, all of it. You know, we had the juice and the energy, but you know, obviously we were missing the fans, so it took away from the playoffs feeling. You surprised the Rams did what they did with their quarterback?

Jamal? Not surprised. No, not surprised at all. You know, obviously, you know, it's all about getting better. Um and you know, I respect him for it.

But I you know, obviously I can't wait to see him. Ha ha, you're gonna see him twice. You're gonna see him twice a year. You're gonna see him twice a year. What uh what what is what did you uh get from Pete Carroll that you didn't get from any of your previous coaches with the Jets, Jamal?

Oh man, that's a great question. You put me on the spot, man. That's what I do. This is what I do. And it's your job to get me off the spot.

This is like football. Right, right, right. I think Pete, you know, he's unique in his own way, man. Not only does he bring the juice and energy. Um He he wants me to be free.

He wants me to to So just take the training wheels off and just go. You know what I mean? If I see it, just go. You know, use my instincts. She's always telling me, use my instincts, fill it, blitz, do this, do that.

So I'm very excited to continue to be coached by such a legend. Such a guy full of energy. You know, I'm excited for the future, man. I can't wait.

So, I mean, obviously, you still have to play within a construct, within a frame of a defense, but so. What's the, how does it work? Where he basically says, just do what you want when you want or.

Well, no, nothing like that. It's all about taking, you know, a smart, educated guess. You know, when you do certain things or you take chances, that's what it's about. You're not guessing. You're prepared and you take an educated guess, right?

So he just wants me to be free, roam around a lot. whether I'm blitzing, whether I'm in coverage, whether I'm dropping, disguising, whatever the case whatever the case may be, I'm all for it. And he's definitely looking forward to working with me and continuing to Make things better.

So we're shooting for, man. Jamal Adams here on the Rich Eisen show. A few more minutes left with the Seattle safety, which is still just very difficult for me to say, but it's facts. I like to spit facts, even when the facts aren't the best.

So who's the toughest quarterback for you to defend? Out of the whole league that you have faced, that has been like, okay, this is the toughest. Which is the one. Yeah, it would have to be Tom. Tom or.

Aaron Rodgers, 100%. Those two guys are. Unique in their own way. You know, one obviously can escape the pocket a little bit better, but other than that, man, they make outstanding throws and they can make other throws. They just find a way to win ball games, man.

That's what I respect most about them. Why, Tom? Again, I just want to put everyone in the shoes of somebody, a defender, a Pro Bowl defender like yourself. Three times. What about it?

He's very unique, man, in his own ways. He's seen it all. You can't. You can't throw a blitz at him that he hasn't seen. You can't throw a coverage that he hasn't seen.

And that's what makes him so special. You know, because he knows how to check. He knows how to audible out. And if he sees something, you know, he's going to change it. But, you know, that last game, that last performance they put on, man, that was the Patriots.

That was the Patriots offense, the Tom Brady offense, man. the the you know, run the ball, play action. lull you to sleep, take a shot when you're on midfield. Um you know the these These guys are doing it right, man, and they have a hell of a staff. Um the Chiefs do as well and they've been doing it for for the past years and Like I said, man, it's going to be exciting to watch, man.

It's going to be a heavyweight fight. What do you think of Tyron Matthew? He's an outstanding player, man, very unique in his own way. I have a lot of respect for him. I love the way he roams and plays ball.

He talks his noise. He's aggressive. Um and and he's he's he's looking to cause hap he's he's looking to cause You know, um You know, problems to the offense, and I respect that.

So he's an outstanding football player. All right, give me your Super Bowl 55 prediction, Jamal. And again, this, this is like your, let's just, I anoint you part of the paparazzi here. And I cannot have you sit on the fence. I cannot have you sit on the fence.

I need you to. I'm rolling with Tom, man. I'm rolling with Tom and Todd Bowles and the crew. I believe that they, you know, they're going to get it done. Many people are doubting them, but I want Leonard Fournette and Todd Bowles and Devin White to grab him a Super Bowl.

So I'm pulling for the guy. All right. So there's some LSU connection. I just heard all that. And then there's the Bowles connection.

Then there's the Bowles connection. I mean, you liked him as coach, correct? You enjoyed being a player for him? I loved him. What?

Loved him. What did you love about him? He just you know he well not only didn't teach me the game, but he he he taught me he taught me, you know, step off the field as well and Um You know, just going back to the game of football, man, he taught me, him and Denar Wilson taught me so much about the position. Of safety and playing defensive back in the league and what it takes, what's the fundamentals of how. To be great, you know.

I always thank those guys for helping me along the way and making me who I am to this day. All right, let's talk about Bolt 24. What are you coming at? meeting with right now your sponsor yeah man it it's it's it's my it's my hydration hydration go-to It supports me 24-7, keeps me ready to play, and there's no artificial sweeteners or flavors added to it. You know, I'm all about that, man, and I'm all about staying healthy and whatever it takes to make my opponent feel me a little bit more when I'm on the field.

That's what it's about. All right. All right, Jamal. If I reached out to you to give me tips on my 40, would you accept that? What do you think?

Absolutely. I'll help you, man. You're my guy.

Okay. And can you indeed? I think. Again, you know, there's no combine this year, so I will miss you part of the NFL network coverage, too. I've really enjoyed you in Prime on the field the last couple of years with all the defensive backs.

I think you and DK, if I got the two of you, because he's already said, you know, Because he's already run through me like he did Buddha Baker when we did our simulcam of my 40-yard dash runs when he came out. I think the two of you together, I think I'm going to run like the wind, quite frankly.

So, can I ask? Yeah, I believe in you, man.

Okay, I always believe in you. I'm going to reach out to you. This is for real because we're going to still try and raise some money for St. Jude this year. Through the let's do it through okay.

You take care of yourself, Jamal. Enjoy Super Bowl 55. You got it. Right back. I appreciate you, man.

Always good to see you. Same here. At Prez on Twitter, at President Mao. on Instagram. That's how you can follow Jamal Adams.

All right, Chris. Are you ready for it? I'm ready. Because again, what? Jamal and Stefan surprised me with their pick.

Why? I'm just surprised, that's all. Because they go Tom Brady. They both took the bus. Also, how many LSU players are on Kansas City?

Just invariably there's going to be, but I mean he goes Fournette. You wanna go you wanna go Fournette? Right. And look here. I bet you he played with Fournette.

Didn't he play with Fournette? He probably played with Fournette. Devin White. Two?

So Don't forget, the Jets chose Jamal instead of Deshaun Watson. All right, so we got three LSU players on the Chiefs.

Okay. But not guys I don't know if he played with or not, but Clydes Edwards Hawaire, Tyron Matthew, and Jarrett Williams. That's why I give him wedd Taryn Matthew on him. All right, look. Uh and he loves Todd Bowles too.

So here's my two cents on Super Bowl 55 because I'm going to be out of the chair on Friday. And on Sunday, game day morning, I'm going to have to give a pick. I'm going to have to give a pick. I love Tom Brady. I have seen Tom Brady for the first time.

from Super Bowls II. through ten. I've covered Tom Brady through s from Super Bowls two through ten. He has gotten quarterbacks in his career all from Rich Gannon, who was the first. And Mahomes can be the last.

Or the latest. And you're just seeing what he's doing. And it just feels the same way. He's just getting everybody. He's just settling family business.

He's going to be on his home turf. His wife took the kids out. of the house. He's been home alone like Kevin. And he's focused and he's sitting there with his thoughts.

And he's got Weapons that you can make a case outside of Randy Moss and with the ultimate respect of Edelman. And the previous version of Gronk. He's never really had this collection at once. Right. And he's at home.

Literally the first time. And that's all you're hearing about is you can't bet against Tom Brady. But I'm going to. Ooh. Plot twist.

But I'm going to. Felt like we needed some music under this. No, that's just the sizzle. I'm going to. Wow.

I'm going to Um every fiber of my being says what I just said is possibly correct and I know I'm doing what I I said George Kittle was smart enough to do, which was ride the fence enough. Ride the fence enough. But when it all comes down to it, though, I've got to make a choice. I've got to make a choice. And even though all season long I said the bucks, and I've done it all the season long, where I'm like, I should just stick with my original one.

But here we are. Here we are and the Chiefs are, as Kurt Warner said, I believe. The better team. I think that they have the bigger game breakers. I know Evans has 7,000-yard seasons to start a career we've never seen that before, and Godwin is who he is.

as well. And Scotty Miller can take the top of a defense off. But you want to talk about the premier playmakers in the game. You could say Tyreek Hill is that guy at wide receiver and have an argument of this wide receiver, that wide receiver might be his. Game-breaking is Tyreek.

You can have that argument. I don't think you can have an argument about Kelsey. And I say that loving George Kittle. Like uh Like he's a best friend. Kelsey is the guy.

I'm telling you, it's going to come down to can Levante David and Devin White cover Kelsey? And I think Hill's going to have enough of a problem to make Kelsey even more of a problem. I think the guy on your screen, that number eighty seven, is a difference maker. I think he is as special as Hill and as special as Mahomes is at his position. That's a fact.

And Andy Reid's got that extra week, and they're the defending Super Bowl champs. If it wasn't Brady, I think it would be a totally different ball of axe, and everyone would be like, Chiefs, absolutely. Brady is a big difference maker. And I love the storyline that Mahomes has a chance to get off to a start. That if everything does break his way over the next decade plus, we can be talking about him in similar conversations.

as Brady. We can do it. I love that. And I think this kid just has the factor, and I think it's his time. I'm going with the Kansas City Chiefs to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

to win Super Bowl fifty five. Could be wrong, obviously. Anything could happen. Rain could happen, make it a muddy track, and then all sorts of. Turnovers happen or the Chiefs can't run the offense similar to what they're running.

And Fournette. I think if it comes down to the running games, how about this two LSU guys going at it? It'd be great. I think Fournette can have a big day and be a difference maker. Absolutely.

Brady is just gonna I don't think Brady's gonna make the mistake that any other quarterback might, obviously. But when it all comes down to it, I think the Chiefs are celebrating.

So take that salty Stone Street. I think you're going to be happy. Anything's possible. And I do this, hashtag, and I do think that we're going to see back-to-back. I do think that we're talking about Reed and Mahomes, like Brady and Belichick in the early aughts, and like Elway and Shanahan in the late 90s, and Aikman and Jimmy Johnson in the early.

I think that's what we're talking about. Monday's first guest is going to be Troy Aikman of Fox, the aforementioned Troy Aikman, just for you, TJ, and me, because I love you. I appreciate you. And so he's going to be our first guest on Monday. And I thank Andrew Ciciliano in advance for taking the reins of this show.

Please watch and listen to it tomorrow. Andrew is dynamite, and the guest list will be great as well.

So, Andrew will be back on the radio with you tomorrow for Peacock. Back in a second.
