Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to a special. Tuesday edition. Of the No Contest Wrestling Podcast. I am the Hill that's Money. Hey, O'Shea Jekyll Jr., aka Petty Guerrero.

Hey yo, it's me, it's me, it's the T O O, K I G 2 J. TJ Jefferson. I mean, today we got a, first of all, we're one of the. Apologize for not being able to drop yesterday. You know, you guys depend on us to be on time, but TJ, they tried to take the boy out.

Yeah. You had a little bug yesterday. You were filling it up. Oh my God. I feel so much lighter.

Like my my hoodie feels looser. But man, yeah, you know what that just sounds like? That sounds like a line from one of my favorite rappers from back in the day. And he said something like: back to the low rider. Coming out feeling about 10 pounds lighter.

I don't know if you ever heard of that guy, but yeah, he said that same thing. Yeah, it was bad, still battling it. That's the thing when you got a kid, bro, she might bring something home to you. You know, something that you don't want. But, you know, we still here, here to give you guys a really good interview today with our boy AJ Francis is going to be in the building today on the No Contest Wrestling Podcast.

TNA's A.J. Francis. Yeah, man. TJ. You know, Tommy Dreamer and everybody over there at TNA treats us well whenever we got to show up.

And we might be showing up today's show in Irvine.

So we're going to be talking to AJ about that. And it ain't nothing to it but to do it. Should we just. Hop in there? Yeah, my man, he said he's going to give us about an hour or so of his time, so no reason for us to keep chatting.

Let's bring him in. Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, A man that has been around the world, and I aye aye, somebody that I consider. One of the great minds in wrestling today, Mr. Bright Idea. My man's always coming up with something.

And you can bet your top dollar. And your bottom dollar. That he's going to be here for a long time. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome AJ Francis to the pod. Wow.

What a great intro. What a great intro. I'm glad that we were finally able to. Finally able to make a having, you know?

So big man, but first and foremost, where we where we find you right now? I'm all hallelujah with it. Why keep with it? You know, trying to enjoy my life, more life. My 35th birthday tomorrow, May 7th.

I'll bet. It's not I say first class, it's not a gimmick, baby. That's how we really live. That's what's up. I ain't been to Hawaii in so long, bro.

I'm Miss Hawaii. TJ. Keep this, I ain't never been to Hawaii. I was about to say, TJ, we got to get you to Hawaii, you know. We got to get you to Hawaii, man.

Now Hey Jay, before you set out on this journey. You had a lifestyle in athletics besides wrestling.

So, you know, we we spoke a little bit at Past TNA event, and you let me and TJ know that your father was. Uh uh legendary high school basketball coach. Talk about that a little bit. Yeah, man. You know, he in Maryland, he's one of the best basketball coaches.

Ebert for high school basketball. He's coached guys that played in the NBA. He's also won a state championship as a football coach.

So he's coached guys that played in the NFL, including myself.

So, you know, I attribute a lot of my success to my father putting me in the right position. You know, you know how it is. You still got to go out and earn it. You still got to go get it yourself. But, you know, having a dad that.

that can put you in the right position for you to succeed. It's a definite benefit, especially in our community. You know, that's not always the case in our community. that dads are are able to put their sons in the best position. based on their own, whether it be financial.

Or educational constraints, you know what I'm saying?

So Um it's been a blessing. You know, to have my pops be such a big part of my life. I wouldn't be, you know, sweating my birthday in Hawaii if it wasn't about pops. You know what I'm saying? That's what's up.

You know, AJ, the touch on what you just said, man, it's so crazy to me because, you know, we have that. That You know, people have that thought or that thing that, oh, well, black fathers aren't there, you know, right? But then when you have black fathers that are there, like you guys had that, like, you know, Shadur Sanders had like the bald, then it's like, oh, well, they're, you know, they're too much, they're overbearing, they're doing too much. But it's like, yo, you, you know, here's boys. right you know his example of a father's in their sons lives and you know speaking up for them and helping for japan Ha ha.

You know, but also the work's got to be done too, you know, and O'Shea knows, you know, I see him, you know, he gets called and yeah, door might get open, but you gotta, you gotta have talent, you gotta have skill, and you gotta do the work, man. I mean, OSE got maybe one role O'Shea got in hell. You know what I'm saying? That he happened to be. Ice cream son, baby, one bro.

Okay, all right, cool. One bro. We're telling you right now. Hello, you had to go through the process, though, right? Yeah, but the rest of them they're not hiring him just because he's ice cube son, they hired him because he's good at his job.

Disney don't give a damn about that. When you go for some Star Wars fiction, oh, your daddy is there. Hey, what's crazy? What's crazy is that I even have to audition for Star Wars, but we'll talk about that a different day. Shout out to Deborah Chow.

That's my girl. But yeah, man, I don't run from that. You know, I don't run from that. It only, I personally feel like it only started. to really matter to everybody.

When it became when it was too many of us black Napple babies, then it was like, hold on now, wait a minute, because this has been going on. Forever. Shout out my girl, Drew Barrymore. I went on her show and I was like, man, you the blueprint. You are the blueprint for second generation, third generation people in the acting business.

Because, like, she did her thing, made her own name, and that's exactly what I'm trying to do. And I know that's what you're doing as well, even going away from. Basketball and football to go into wrestling and to be the force that you've been, but. Before we get into the wrestling part.

So you can see a question for you, O'Shea. I got a question for you. All right, I got an answer for you. Same What's it like? Like, because obviously you're an actor.

Like, your father was one of the best musicians of all time, obviously, groundbreaking, revolutionary. But he, as an actor, your pops have some of the greatest movies of all time. What's that like to try to get into that? It's not like just your pops is famous or your pops is rich. Like you're an actor, and your dad has some of the best movies of all time.

Do you feel like you got you have a certain standard you got to live up to? Um, you know, I used to. I used to, like, when I when I first started. Um I I was really, really hard on myself. A lot of the times trying to figure out.

really my lane and like, you know, they all gotta be. Number one movies. They all gotta be like they all gotta be and You know, Jerry Gray. Told me the director straight out of Compton told me early, he was like, You're not going to get another one like this. I thought it was a ditch.

I was like, dang, like, hold on. And he was like, nah, like. how tight the crew is, how tight the cast is. It being low-key, this this is like, you know. Predominantly black film.

And you get to be number one. Like you're not gonna run into that again. And so I'm like, you know, I really, if I could go back in time, you know, I would really take every day of that. and like bottle it up. But yeah, wh when it came to Because I did the music thing for a little bit, but when it came, I came to a crossroad where it was like, all right.

Where are we going to put all of our energy? You know, I'm not the best multitasker.

So, like, when I hone in and I get tunnel vision, I'm good. And so, you know, it came to. I came to a fork in the road of kind of like what I want to do, and the music thing. I felt like with Everything that my dad has done for artists and just like. an entire genre I really didn't think there was anything more I could put our family to in music.

But when it came to film, I feel like Hollywood type cast rappers, I feel like I've always said that. They don't want to see Uh, Superman throw hundred-dollar bills in the club, they just they won't, they will never let that happen.

So I've always felt like they typecast my dad. I always felt like, you know, if it's nothing he wrote for himself. They're not gonna give him nothing that I know he can do because I know the guy that I had at home. Like it's different from He's not frowning and cussing you out all day. That's just not, he's not doing that all day.

So I just know that they see him in that pocket. And so I feel like. In film, I could take the Jackson name to New Heights. Yeah, so that's why I chose movies, man. That's cool, man.

Okay, this is not a drill. Get ready because Mission Impossible, the final reckoning, hits theaters May 23rd. And I'm counting down the days. This is it. The biggest practical action movie ever made.

Tom Cruise and director Christopher Macquarie are back pushing the limits of what action cinema can do. We're talking real stunts, real danger, and real edge-of-your-seat intensity, all shot in jaw-dropping locations around the world. Did you see that trailer? Tom Cruise free-falling through fire, Haley Atwell back in action, and the whole crew reunited. Ving Rain, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales.

It's like the ultimate global team-up. This franchise started almost 30 years ago, and it just keeps getting better. Mission is more than a movie, it's a high-stakes ride built on loyalty, friendship, sacrifice, and seriously gutsy stunts.

So, yeah, I'm beyond excited to see Mission Impossible, the final reckoning on the biggest screen possible in a theater, May 23rd. This summer, the mission is clear. Yeah. Don't miss it. Even the safest drivers still encounter unsafe conditions, so it's important they do it in a safe vehicle.

I mean, you big as hell. Obviously, we've seen you hoop online. You went to the NFL for six years. When did you get bit by that bug? Honestly, I've been a wrestling fan my entire life.

I always knew I wanted to be a wrestler. Um At eight years old, I told my mom I was going to go to the NBA and then I was going to go. Be to WWE. Um, you know, I had to replace NBA with NFL, but you know, you know, it ended up working. Uh And the thing is, is like I always wanted to be a wrestler.

If I didn't, because I was broke, so if I didn't have a. A scholarship to go to college, I would have become a wrestler after high school. If I didn't make it to the NFL, I'd have become a wrestler after college. You know what I'm saying? So it's like, There was always a problem.

Always wanted to do it. And then when I got to the NFL, it just became so much easier because. That NFL shield opens a lot of doors. Like I literally started training. I'm going to tell y'all the whole story of my.

How I got into the reference.

So I'm still in the NFL, it's 2018. right it's my sixth year but i'm a free agent And I had been a free agent during the season before many times and got signed later on in the. multiple times so like It wasn't something new to me. Um to do something like that.

So, you know, I'm a free agent, and my buddy, he's throwing this. Crazy house party, and he has a wrestling show before, and he goes, Hey, Why don't you just come be on this wrestling show? And I was like, all right, cool, you know.

So I go had this wrestling show. And I go, I'm in the match. It's a battle royal, it's my first match. And afterwards, guys who had been wrestling like 10 years were like, hey, man, great job. Where's your home promotion?

And I'm like, oh, no, man, I don't have the home promotion. This is my first match. They're like, oh, wow. They're like, okay, where did you train? I'm like, nah, bro.

I ain't never trained. I ain't never. This is, I just, my homie wanted me to come. I know how this is supposed to look. I'm athletic.

I'm big. I'm coordinated. I know how this is supposed to look. So like Damn you might set a fire. But uh yeah, so I know how it's supposed to look.

I'm cool. They're like, well. They knew me, they were like, Well, I know you're a free agent, you're trying to get back in the NFL. I'm not trying to tell you what to do with your life, but. You should probably look into going to a wrestling school and actually give a wrestling chance.

And hearing that from them. Maybe be like, wait a minute. I always wanted to be a wrestler. Like, why am I? Still dragging my feet trying to get back in the NFL when I had this whole other thing that I always wanted to do.

I got the money to actually. Invest in being able to do this properly. I don't have to worry about getting a nine to five to support my wrestling dream. Like, I'm like, let me give it a shot.

So, you know, I start training in November. Of, you know, that match was late October 2018. I started training two weeks later in November 2018. Um and in December after the season ended The Browns and the Browns and the Raiders both were like, yo, we're trying to bring you in for next season. And I had to be like, nah, I'm cool.

Like I found this other thing that I love. I'm cool with this.

So, you know, everything happens for a reason. I did that. Two weeks later, I go to the premiere of the Page movie. Um And I had a bunch of Friends that were in NXT. I already lived in Orlando.

So anytime there was like an NXT event. The homies would invite me out. I'm their NFL buddy. You know, they love to talk about me being in NFL and our relationship, right?

So So they bring me out and I go to the Premiere of the Page movie, and it's only NXT people. And that's where I meet Montez Floyd for the first time. I meet Bianca Belair for the first time. I meet a lot of people for the first time that night, but The person I met for the first time that night was Matt Blue, with the head coach at the Performance Center. And um I went up to him and I said, hey.

Yeah, you know, I've been training at Team 3D Academy with the Dudleys for the last you know two months i played in the nfl And it's funny 'cause Like my other friend who worked in digital for NXT at the time had already got me a trial for July. Like, I was already going to be at the July tryout already. That was already planned. But I wouldn't talk to Matt Blue and Austin like. Just trying to have him put.

Named a face for July. Yeah. And he said, he said, email me in the morning. I said, okay, cool.

So I emailed him in the morning. 10 minutes later, he responded. He said, your trials in April. I'll see you then.

So, like, I mean, from like, I got six months to prepare for the biggest job opportunity of my life to. I got two and a half months like overnight.

So now we're in overdrive. You know, I go to the. The tryout, and you know, the athletic part, I can do that, take a counseling on like good. To be honest, and wrestling fans and wrestlers hate when I say this, but it's true. The level athlete that you get to see me put on in a wrestling match is like 10% of what I'm actually capable of.

The wrestling ring is so confined and so small that for me to actually do what I can do, like I'd run out of space. Right.

So.

So, like, the drill work and all that stuff is easy, but I actually. The thing that got me hired, I actually had to leave a day early because of some family issues. But uh The thing that got me hired was my promos. I went out and I even said the pro, I still have a memorized to this day. I said.

Allow me to reintroduce myself at the time. My wrestler's name was Frank.

So I said, Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Frank. and I'm standing here fly as an eagle's eye and I ain't got a lot of time. See, crime is money, and it ain't funny to waste my money. See, I'm not from this PD era.

I'm from the G era. I'm from where you go get it or you get gone. I'm telling you, your main goal is to grab gold, and then at the after party, be with the girls guzzling goose. See, I'm great, I'm the truth. But I got haters.

There'll always be haters. That's the way it is. Hater brothers may hater sisters and not hater kids. The difference is, I'm the shut-chunger. You're looking at the new OG.

The goat rat gun. The Mossadine Strikey baby. And William Regal stood up and clapped. And like a bunch of all the teachers, all the coaches were like, yeah, that's how you do that. That's how you do it.

They're like, man, I hate to have to go after that one. But everybody got it. But the thing is, that's right. It was stacked, though. Sydney Akeem was in that trial.

Ivy Nao was in that trial. Jay Cargan was in that trial.

So, like, That trial had some names in there.

So, you know what I'm saying? E.J. Anduca was in that trial.

So, like, we had a lot of people in that trial then. And to be able to stand out in that field. And get hired from that. I got hired six months later.

So, and it was funny because they were like, We'll tell you in two weeks what we're going to do, and nobody ever talked to me.

So I was like, oh, I guess I'm not getting hired. That sucks. I feel like I did my best. And then Two months go by and I finally called Paul Fair. I don't even think he works there anymore.

I call Paul Fanny and I'm like, Paul, so what's what's going on, man? Like. What's going on? He's like, oh, I told you? Yeah, we're bringing you in January.

Thanks. But yeah, so you know, I always wanted to be a wrestler, man. It's something that I've always loved. And then, like, this right here, this tattoo, a lot of people don't know this. Can't really see it because I've been tanning my ass off, but.

Out in Hawaii, as I mentioned. But uh That's the logo of WrestleMania. WrestleMania 30. Um I always was like, Oh, I'm gonna be a wrestler, I'm gonna be a wrestler, I'm gonna be a wrestler. Um but then like Once I went to WrestleMania 30, even though I was only a rookie in the NFL.

I went to WrestleMania 30 and I was like. This is what I have to do. Like I knew it right then and there. I was like, this is what I have to do. Um So, yeah, man, and you know, wrestling's just been.

So such a big part of my life once again. My father put wrestling on before I was one years old, and I was just infatuated by it. I had wrestling birthday parties and I had Stone Cold on my birthday cake. I had The Rock on my birthday cake. When I held my little sister for the first time after she was born, I had a DDP certain.

You know what I'm saying? Like, this has been. I think it's been part of my life forever.

So it's just something that's basically, man. I gotta tell you, TJ, I did not think the DVP shirt was going to be the punchline of that story. When I held my little sister, I thought you were going to hold her above your head like that. No, that's crazy. That's where I did my first chunk slam was my baby sister.

That's crazy. What a heel.

So, so AJ, you said about the shirts, but growing up, man, who were some of your favorite wrestlers, the guys that really drew you in and made you? Unfortunately, Hulk Hogan. Um Also on top. I can't lie, but unfortunately, Hulk Hogan was the one that when I first started watching WrestleMania. I mean, let's be honest.

We'd be lying. People would be lying if they didn't. Yeah. So it is. It is what it is.

Macho Man, then that transition. I'm telling you my whole timeline in my phase. It was Hogan, then Macho Man, then that transitioned into Bret Hart.

Okay. And then Bret Hart transitioned into Rey Mysterio. I told this to Ray at his Hall of Fame induction. Um I was like, Rey Mysterio was the reason that I started watching WCW. Like, I didn't know WCW existed, and then my buddy had a VHS tape of Rai versus Eddie at Halloween Havoc.

And I watched that match and I was like, yo. Where can I see this guy? Like. Like, I didn't know about the NWO. I didn't, I didn't care about this.

I was watching for Ray Mysterious.

So, we ain't never really seen anything like Ray Mystery. No, it was crazy, man. It's still to this day, like, there's a lot of guys that imitate. And there's some guys that Can do the things that he does, or even things that are crazier, like some of Ray Phoenix does, it's incredible. But like Ray is just one of one, bro.

Like, nobody, he's the greatest issue of all time, and I don't think that'll ever be challenged.

Well, don't let Dirty Dom hear you say that. Oh, chill, chill, bro. Friend of the show. Friend of the show. Don't let Dom hear you say that.

Dirty Dom is invited. I've mentioned him on the first flash pant house before, too. He's invited to come to the first flash. Oh, my God. That would be amazing.

Bro, I need that on TV immediately. Oh, my God. He's long, he's lost a standing invitation to come, whatever he was, but uh, yeah, it went from Rey Mysterio to then Stonefold, and then after Stonefold, it was The Rock, and it never left from The Rock, like The Rock is. been my guy. I mean You could say Roman when I started watching it more in college.

I would say Roman. Um and Bray Uh, those are two of my guys, but by the time I was a grown man by those times, you know what I'm saying? But as a kid, like rock, man. Like, the rock is the end-all, be-all, greatest of all time. And I tell that to.

Like, because I train at Reality Wrestling, she plug. You know, I'm a. I'm the television champion as well as Excuse me, the character development coach down there. And I help a lot of kids with their characters and how to flush out what they're trying to get across. Um And I, you know, I teach a class there on it.

And uh, now you moved down there recently for that job. Yeah, I did. Yeah, I moved to Houston, man. Booker welcomed me with open arms, and I couldn't be happier, man, than real rets. Um But, you know, I tell the kids all the time: it's like, if you.

If you have somebody who's a You know, a wrestling specialist. List the top 100. In ring, like wrestling technicians of all time. The rock's not on that list. He's nowhere on it.

But if you list the Top 100 performers in the business of all time, he's at the top of that list. And I use that as an example to be like, bro, wrestling isn't everything. Your character is everything. Like If you think about the people's elbow. It is simultaneously the greatest and dumbest move of all time.

Absolutely. Right? You know what I'm saying? Absolutely. There's no reason he should ever hit it.

There's no reason it should ever work. There's no reason why it should be a finish. There's no reason for any of it, other than the fact that he's the most entertaining person to ever lace up boots. And because of that, we allow him to play in our face. And and he's won world titles using it.

It can see a folks 400-plus day reign as WWE champion, throwing his elbow pad in the crowd, swinging his arms back and forth, running across the ropes, jumping over him, swinging a leg around, dropping a lazy elbow. To the sternum, though. It's to the sternum, though. That takes all the air out too, it's. Oh my goodness.

It's fair. It's the most electrifying move in sports entertainment. It is by far the most electrifying move in sports entertainment. It's not even close. But it's like the fact that you can even pull that off is insane.

Yeah, when I when I was a kid You know, I've always listed my list of heroes is actually Crazy. Like now that I look back on it, when I was first straight out of Coptic, they asked me to list. Besides my father, who are my five heroes. And I said, I said, Godzilla. Goku.

Sonic the hedgehog. Kobe Bryant and The Rock. And the rock was uh the rock When I was a kid, you know, I was a pretty shy kid. And The Rock always taught me to always have something to say, you know, to always let them back you into a corner with some words, bro. And, you know, he really turned me into just getting me quick as a whip, just to always be on point.

When somebody either put a mic in your face or think they win in an argument, yeah, and flip the room, flip the room. And you know, he got me out of that, you know, watching the rock.

So, yeah, I'll. People like to get on him now and say what they want about the final thing. Fuck them people. Fuck them.

Okay. That's what I'm saying. Fuck them, people. If you think, if you think, and here's another thing, I want to talk about this too, because this pisses me off. And I haven't had an interview since this happened, and they're pissing me off.

All these people bitching and complaining about Travis Shotten in WrestleMania. Bro, they're like. That didn't make any sense, bro. Travis Scott was there the night that Cena turned. Here on coding.

How is Travis Scott then showing up during the main event to cause a distraction, including pulling the rest, and then take a bump from the babyface, which leads to the finish for the heel? That is literally Wrestling 101, you fucking idiots. Because they fantasy book, bro. They fantasy book. And if it don't go exactly how they think, then it's completely wrong.

And I'm a rock fan. TJ will tell you, I was in the crowd going. We were waiting. We were waiting for that music to drop the whole thing. Oh, it was sued.

It was sued. Shay, Shay. Just in case they missed it, we were waiting for. Yeah But You know, it just never dropped. The only thing, the only complaint if you want to be mad that Rock didn't show up.

Fully bred. I understand. I was mad too. I was like, damn, Rock didn't even show up. Because you wanted him there.

But to pretend Travis Scott's involvement didn't make sense logically or in the storyline, you're just fucking lying, bro. Or you're too stupid to comprehend how wrestling works. Those are the only two options. I just didn't like how long it took him to get to the ring. You know, where it was definitely a walk.

He definitely took a shit. He definitely did a taker wrestling. He thought he was undertaker for sure. You could have recouped from a torn ACL in the amount of time. I heard Fiend, Fiend, Fiend.

By the time he hit the ring, that's like eight months right there. Hill, now you're ready for that. I'm so tired of that song. Do you know what's funny? Is that So obviously, you know.

As you are too, I'm sure. I'm very often on the cutting edge of music when it first comes out. I know I don't find out about music months after it's come out usually. Like, for example, this past week, I've been listening to Key Vlog and Rosama's, both their projects that have just came out, both very good projects, Blagobelli and the Orange Tape.

So I'm usually on the cutting edge of music.

So, when obviously when the album of Fiend came out, like I was on that song for anything, like this song is dope, right? And then it got overplayed, right? And I was, and I was like, oh, this is overplayed. And then That happened with the help of my good friend DJ Ruki. I think you'd be Happened to be in Travis Scott's section in Miami one day when he hosted a party at.

Ardua Casino. And I got to see him perform Fiend Live in front of all his fans. And it was like an out-of-body experience. Like, I can never. Get tired of that song ever again because of that moment that seeing him.

Be in his element. and how into it his fans were while he was doing it. I was like, yo. This is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Like, I could never, I could never talk down on that song.

So, I understand how maybe it has been overplayed. It wasn't, it was overplayed for me until that moment, too. I can't lie. But it's just different then. It's really different though.

It's something about seeing a song live, too, and like seeing how people react to it. It's like if you first hear a song, While you're out, and like you might be a little lit, or whatever.

However, you heard that song is what you remember for the rest of your life. And so, like, you kind of stay in that moment. It happened with me with Peter Mars. I was not a Bruno Mars fan. Until I saw Bruno Mars live, and Bruno Mars can do no wrong, bro.

I stayed in that moment, and that moment was crazy. A moment I wanna talk about though. Is give us your welcome to wrestling moment. I mean, a lot of people, you know. I want to hear about the welcome to the NFL moment too, because I'm sure that's great.

But what was a welcome to wrestling moment where you were like, yep, this is about to be every day. Slow hubby. Man, you know what's funny is I had the exact opposite version of this story. Um And once again, wrestlers and wrestling fans hate when I say this, but compared to playing football, wrestling is very easy. Um Especially when you're the biggest dude in the ring, 99.

That's a key point. That's a key point working for you. You know, you know what I'm saying?

So, like, I don't have to do much. Like I said, I'm tampered down to about 10% of what I can do. That's why every title match, I'll break out of Moonsaw just to remind people I'm the greatest athlete. You know what I'm saying? But, you know, but other than that, I'd just be chilling for real.

So, like, it was never like the physical toll of wrestling was never a problem for me, just strictly because. The way that I use it as an analogy is, I went from a defensive lineman where I I will get 60 plays in practice and 80 plays in a game. where I had to physically assault another silverback gorilla for four hours straight, right? I go from doing that five days a week. To Shaping one bump.

In a match, maybe twos. If it's a world title match, I might take three.

So, I went from being a defensive lineman to being a kicker, basically. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. You know what I'm saying? So, like, I went from.

We don't care how your body feels till you're the most protected person here.

So it's like. It's a complete 180 for me, but the version that I have of it. Is my welcome wrestling moment actually. was A week into training at Team 3D Academy. which was at the time was owned by Devon and Bubba.

And like, you know, badass Billy Gummo chain there, and Sir Pentaco from AEW trains there, and Jay Rios trains there. But there would be guest trainers that would come up. And um One day I spoovin, right?

Now, mind you, now mind you, I don't know any of the Dao infamous Haku stories. I don't know any of them. I don't know that he bit a man's nose off. I don't know that he almost. I don't know that he almost killed multiple men in multiple bar fights.

I don't know these things. To me, he's just this nice old man that walks into the room, right? And he's just a nice old man. And I'm like, oh, what a nice old man. Like, I know who he is, obviously.

I'm like, what a nice old man. He even gave me the Tongan Death River, it was awesome. But So Um when we go in there and we start training, we're we're we're Crane, rolling around for maybe five minutes. He looks me right in the eyes and goes, big man. Neuro.

On the fly. Yeah. Okay. So mind you, I'm a week into training.

So I'm working on the fly with Haku, and I'm very good at listening. I'm very good at focusing in on what somebody's telling me when they're telling me. Because when you play D-line and the linebacker tells you you got to slide over because they changed the formation, or he makes a call where now you're the nose guard and you got to drop to the middle of the field for pass coverage, you better hear what the fuck he said, or you're going to be out of a job. Right, right.

So, listening to a dad's a coach, so you were used to, yeah, exactly. You know what I'm saying? So, like, just listening is not hard. A lot of people are so nervous when they're in the ring that they can't focus on what the person. That's not me, I'm the opposite of that.

You know, I'm working on the fly with him for like 10 minutes. And then at the end, he goes, Big man. You're good. Make a lot of money in this business.

So, oh, thanks, Taku. And I was like, oh, shit.

Well, if Haku thinks that, I've been trading for a week. Dude, I'm about to make a lot of money in this motherfucker. And he ain't been wrong. I'm telling you, he ain't been wrong. That's insane.

That's a mean cosign, bro. Right? Because we got a question that we're going to hit you with later on in the. In the pod, but yeah, Haku is a number one pick on that question a few times.

So, yeah, that's a great close-up. You know, so AJ, since we were talking about music, I was going to bring this up later, but since we're in here right now. Give me like it. A dream cipher. Like I'm a y you can have four MCs.

Me and four MCs? You and four MCs for your dream cipher. Who would you pay? Number one will be biggie. Ah, my man.

Uh you know Uh biggie smalls. Vague. No. Come on. Nobody uh Sorry.

Bring me Yeah. Yeah, sorry. Yeah, biggie. Nobody The way Biggie put words together has been often I imitate it but never duplicate it.

So.

Well I say biggie. Number two, I'll say Nipsey hustle. Nipsey is I got a Nipsey tattoo. And uh I got it at pre Paris. And uh I have a gigantic.

poster of Nipsey Hussle, Graham, living with him when you walk in my house. Like biggie. Obviously Biggie, I was like six years old when Biggie passed.

So like. I listened to his music growing up. But I couldn't relate to it. Until I, you know, got older, started getting some money, you know what I'm saying? Getting out in the world.

Yeah. Benite. By the time when I was listening to Nipsey Hustle, I felt like he was talking to me. You know what I'm saying? I felt like Nip was making his music.

for me to hear it specifically. You know what I'm saying? And the things he would talk about is just. on a deeper level than a lot of the rappers. Um But yeah, I'll take Nipsey.

Biggie, let's say Jay. And then I would say Uh in Manila. Those would be, that would be my. Oh, my God. That would be a crazy sci-fi.

It would be a crazy summary. And because my last two were JM, I want to go publicly and say this. I'm tired of people pretending. that Jay-Z didn't absolutely slaughter his verse on Renegade. He his burst is incredible.

Eminem just happened to have one of the greatest verses ever of that time. It just so happens that all the, like Jay said, I had to hustle. My back to the wall, dashy knuckles, pockets filled with a lot of lit, not a scent, got a vent, a lot of innocent lives lost on that project, bitch. What you hollering? Gotta pay rent, bring dollars in.

I the vote they got, iron under my coat, feeling braver. Do rag wrapping my waves up, pockets full of hope. Could not step anymore. I'm awkward. I box lefty and often.

My pops left me and often. My mom wasn't home. Could not stress to me I wasn't grown. Especially on nights. I brought something home to quiet the stomach problems.

My demeanor, 30 years, my senior, my childhood didn't mean much. Only raising green up. Raising my fingers to critics, raising my head to the sky. Big, I did it more time before I died. Don't lie.

There's no I chose my own fate. I drove by the fork in the road and went straight. Listen. He went crazy, but Evidem just had literally. Maybe the greatest verse of all time.

I'm in a position to listen to these kids. I ain't no politician, but I kick it with them a minute. They call me a minute, and if the shoe pits, I wear it.

Now, who's the kid you be talking about? Who can inherit the guy at the top with the youth and hysterics? I'm biased. I'm biased because he does. Maybe it's beautiful.

He does shout out Ice Cube in that verse. He do, he do, he do, he do. Shout out to Eminem. I hate how the new kids disrespect Eminem because I'm like, how y'all not know? How y'all not know, bro?

Your mama ain't raised. They don't know anything, bro. They don't know what. Oh yeah. Excellent question, TJ.

That's a little cipher right there, yo. Excellent question, TJ. Now. I need to know because you've been a wrestler fan for a long time, and it's one of my favorite questions to ask people because it really lets you. Get that fandom off.

And I feel like the more I was taught early in media training, relatability is like ability. And the more you have these moments and fans can relate to you, it just does something to the fan's heart. I need to know. As a fan, AJ Francis. When did wrestling break your heart Oh my god.

when I felt when I realized wrestling wasn't real. Oh my God, what a hit. Uh And I realized it wasn't real. It broke my heart. And I'll tell you why.

Here's what, here's what, here's how it found out. WrestleMania. Iron Man match, Shawn Michaels, Brent Hart. Oh my god. Mind you, I told you.

I'm a Bret Hart fan. Bret Hart fanatic. Love Bret Hart. There was a part of my life. There was a time in my life where the only thing I wanted in my life was to be the kid that Bret Hart gave me his shades when he walked to the room.

The only thing I wanted in life.

Okay, right.

So I love Bret Hart. And then the fact that I got to actually meet Brett when I was in the NFL, and you know, he's a Seahawks fan. I was on the Seahawks, and we both happened to play the Ravens, and he happened to be in Baltimore. And I brought him to the team hotel. And it was me.

The table was listen to this: the greatest table of all time. You know, when you go through like those little memes, it's like, which lunch table would you sit at, right? Yes. The table was myself. Bret Hart Eat Carol.

March on Lynch. Russell Wilson. Cam Chancellor Richard Sherman. Wow. Okay.

Oh, my God. Greatest left tip of all time. But we're sitting there and he said, I got to be here. That was so cool. You know, I'm a huge brotherhood fan, so.

They go the full 60 minutes, no falls. And I'm like, oh. Brett wins. He didn't get pin. 0-0.

Brett wins. Brett's walking out with new title. Right.

Gorilla Montsumi comes to the back and talk about some sudden death. And sudden death, Sudden death lasted a total of two minutes before. Shawn Michaels kicked him in his face one, two, three, and just like that, it was over. And I said, This is some bullshit.

Some bullshit. This ain't the sombre right here. This ain't going down the way. There's no way they were 60 minutes like that and nothing happened. And then, two minutes into the overtime, Brett get kicked in his face.

And it's over. Nah, nah, man, this is what. And that was the day I realized: damn, this was all a setup, bro. This is all a setup. And it broke my heart.

Bro, they did bread like that multiple times at multiple wrestlemanias, where like WrestleMania 9. It holds. Yeah. Out of nowhere. When we asked Phil, when we asked CM Punk when they're wrestling break yard, he said WrestleMania 9.

I was like, What is this? What is this spinning? Hey, you want me to get him? I got him. Go.

I'm blind. Go get him, hookster. Go get him. Yeah, like. What's going on?

Y'all even like each other for real? Yeah, for real. Yeah. And it's funny you mention that because once you watch my style, watch how I wrestle. And um I still alive.

from Yoko. A bot from Yogo. The way I get out of the ring when I'm getting, you know, some shine put on me. The way that I sell, the way that I flail my arms, the way that I steal a lot of shit from Yoko. WrestleMania 9 was some bullshit for sure, because those are two of my things.

Just come in and take it to change by your first favorite, though. Yeah, right. It's like the AJ Bowl. A fantasy book to WrestleMania 9, but I would have had a completely different finish.

Now, just real quick, real quick, and then TJ, you hit him with a question. But you said. That you always wanted to be the kid that Bret Hart gave his glasses to. It's a clip. You better piss me off.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Pump bacon. You pump bake that kid. He goes out and it's a kid waiting for the glasses, and he punk takes the kid and put the glasses on and walks off. What a monster.

Like, what you know is funny. It's what's funny is that like you never know. like exactly what's being taught when you're doing things. was a wrestler so like I just am always doing these things, right? And dude, there's sometimes it'll be like.

Oh, it'll go to a wide shot. And they'll be like, This ratchet you got stickers. You can't see shit anyway.

So I'm just, I never know what's going to get cup.

So when I pump fake that kid, it was actually these glasses. When I pumped a kid with these glasses, it was like, ah, gotcha, you thought, dumbass little kid, put it back on like that. But that clip went crazy. Because I don't know if anybody's ever been caught doing that before. I couldn't have been the first person to ever do that, but I don't know if anyone's ever been caught doing it before.

But, like, you know, the little kid's so excited. He's like, please, thank you. I'm like, oh, here you go. Yeah, right, you dumbass little kid. Come on.

Oh, my God. Tell your daddy, go buy one, broke ass kid. TJ's your question. See, that's some. We spoke about him earlier.

That's definitely on some dumb stuff right there. Oh, that's evil. You got to live the gimmick. Uh eagle.

So Taking it back a little bit, man, before I first saw you in the wrestling room. Mm-hmm. I saw you as host of WWE's Most Wanted Treasures on AE. Tell us, man, how'd you get involved? How'd you get that gig?

Because you weren't even. on TV as a wrestler at that point, right? I'm going to tell y'all the real version. I've never told this real version of Pugman. We don't want this fake anything.

I've never told this real version of Pugman. Okay. So, I did television for 10 years before I ever got to W. I had been doing TV when I was in high school. And then I started doing TV a lot when I was in college.

And then when I got to the NFL, it became even easier. I've been on literally, I've done sports analyst work and hosting on every network from ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox. Uh you know TNT Uh A and E, obviously, like I've done it. I've done them all. Like, there's not a network I haven't been on for real.

So True story is. They're casting for this show, for a host for this show, most wanted treasures. During peak COVID times.

So they can't actually bring people in to audition, right?

So the producers are having to find A host without Actually, bringing people in and having them talk. One of my friends was. Pillow talking, I'll say, with one of the producers of the show. And uh They were talking about how, oh. Uh just got this show with WWE.

And my boy's like, all right, well, you should check out the homie. You know? He uh You should check out the homie. He just got signed with Doug McMee, and he's done TV forever. And his name's Tommy Davis.

Tommy Williamson. And we went to. High school together. And he's an actor. He's been on like ABC's, the Fosters.

He's an actor.

So he's in Hollywood. No. He tells her that she goes and looks at my social media and loves my social media. She goes and checks my resume for where I work and realized that I'm very well-rounded and not just talking sports, but just hosting things in general. Uh And then she pictured the idea to the production team.

And the production team loves it. Production team pitches it to AE. AE loves it. They all pitch it to WWE and WWE says, nah, we don't want him to get that job. We don't want him to get that job.

No, we don't want him. No, he ain't been on TV yet. We don't want him to get that job. And then And he goes, Well, we got three last rights of refusal, and we want him to be the host, so he's going to be the host.

Okay. Okay. So, just like that, I ended up getting this gig. I was in the show, and it was awesome. A lot of people, I've also never said this publicly.

You know how it is. You made me really believe that you were your daddy breaking shit up in that. office you understand Like I really believed that because she was active. What people don't know is I am an actor as well. There were many things on that show that I could not give two shits about.

Right.

But but people thought I was so invested in these items. That I couldn't care less about, right? Just because it's my job to make you believe that. I'm so interested in this that you need to be to him, right? Obviously, yeah.

So, so a lot of times people are like, what's your favorite item that you found? And to be honest with you, like, there's some cool stuff, but like, The items ain't the reason that show is cool for me. Getting to, I became friends with Booker T because of that show. I became friends with Mark Henry because of that show. I became friends with The Big Show because of that show.

I became fooled with Ric Flair. I don't want to say we're friends, but we fool. I became fool with Ric Flair because of that show. You know what I'm saying? Go to steakhouses with Ric Flair, you know, drink tequila, eat steak, and watch him flirt with 20-year-old waitresses all night.

Like, it was, you know what I'm saying? These are life, these are life experiences that you know, other people wish that they could have. You know what I'm saying? No doubt. I became, I became cool with the Undertaker because you know what I'm saying.

I became cool with AIM because that, you know what I'm saying? Like, these are things that. Like Mick Foley and I are friends. Like, like, these are things that. became Such a unique, awesome experience for me.

And that's the best thing. About it to me because if I'm the Best stuff that we found. Didn't even make the show. Like I already told you, I'm a big Yoko fan. When we went to.

Taker's warehouse where we found his like mask. and his robe and a bunch of other stuff. Um He had a bunch of stuff from Yoko because him and Yoko going boys. Yeah. BSK.

Yeah, so that was like cool to me. Because I was like, yo, you're the only stuff. This is crazy, right? You know what I'm saying? And Nah, I'll tell y'all that story off there.

I ain't gonna potato business in the street. Just know I'm gonna tell y'all something when we start reporting. Yeah, bro. Don't burn breaches, bro. You know, so, like I said, I was a big fan of that show.

And one thing I saw you did that was kind of dope because, you know, O'Shea knows. Uh, not maybe not necessarily my favorite of all time, but one of my first favorites was Bob Backlund.

So I saw you went to his house and you did the Iron Sheik Club Challenge, man. And I can remember watching that as a kid, and it seemed like nobody but Sheik and Backlund could do those things, but it seemed like you handled them pretty well. Yeah, I mean. Other than Mark Henry, I don't know if there's ever been a human stronger than me and rest of them. Um And I don't, I say that literally, like.

Like When I was in my last year in the NFL. I did. you know 755 on SWAT to five reps which With AMRAP, it's like 8:30. Like that's a ridiculous level of. Squat.

You know what I'm saying? Like, I'm incredibly strong. Um so like A lot of people Yeah. Yeah. About changing me.

Plugs. Just don't have the physical strength to do it. Like 99% of people don't have the physical strength to do it. And then you can have the physical strength. But if you don't have the technique, then you can't do it, right?

These things are like 70, 80 pounds, right? They're 70 pounds, yeah. But like 50 of the 70 is at the base.

So when you're holding it by the handle, Most of the weight is up here. But you're holding it here, right? It's awkward. It's heavy. But the producers literally just sprung it on me when we got there.

They're like, yo, he says if you can do the clubs, we can have them. I'm like, what the fuck? I've never. Yeah. I've never done this before.

Like, what are you doing? Are you familiar with them though? I mean, I knew what they were. I'd seen them before, but that don't mean I could do that. Like, you know what I'm saying?

Like. The first time I got some poney, I thought I was Lex Steele, but I wasn't. You know what I'm saying? So, like. You know what I'm saying?

Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I've seen it before, but this ain't, you know what I'm saying? You got to actually put the work in, you know what I'm saying?

So, absolutely.

So, I go in and uh. They're like, yeah. And I'm like, I don't know if I can do this. They're like, well, we need you to do it so we can get them. I'm like, do y'all ever think about consulting me with this shit?

Like, do you ever think about looping me into this shit, right?

So, like, literally, I didn't think they get a chance to practice. Like literally Everything that you see in that scene is out, like that was the me picking him up and fumbling with him at first was because that was the first time I'd ever picked him up. Like I never, so I'm like trying to figure them out. And then once I got them. I'm like, all right, let me see if I can just take this back.

And then when I took that one back, I said, okay, let me see if I can take that one back. Ooh, I did that one. I said, oh, I'm actually doing this. In my mind, I'm like, oh, shit, I'm really that nigga. You know what I'm saying?

That's it in my mind. I'm like, well, I'm probably gonna look all serious on TV and shit.

So, but like, yeah, that was crazy because, and Bob is crazy. Like, Bob is when we pulled up. Sergeant Slaughter, who I went to his house with, was like. hey man just so you know you gotta be on alert because bob will put you in a crossface chicken wig and it'd give him over i'm like all right i'm like yeah all right this old ass man better stay away from me you're talking crazy i'm talking about he's gonna put me in the chicken wig he ain't gonna do unless i let him to wrong with bob back we in the middle of filming a scene i'm talking about some other he jump on my back gotcha that's your boy tj He thought he lacking. Bob Beckler called me lacking, bro.

He put me in the chicken wig. That's real. Like, that's the funny thing. It's like, obviously, reality TV, reality TV ain't always real. We know that.

You know what I'm saying? And there's a lot of stuff where, like, especially involved in that show, where, like, Like let's say like this title, boom, let's say we came and see this title, right? We know it's there before we get there. Right, because otherwise, we're not using all this production, time, and money to get to someplace. To find out if it's there or not.

You know what I'm saying? Right.

So we can hear boom, it's the title that we come to see.

So when we come start filming, we'll start filming right here. And we'll go all the way around the room. Filming, B-roll, other items they might have, until we get here. And then I go, my God, this is the same thing we came for. I can't believe it's here.

So then, after we would do that, we would go around the whole room, get to the item that we actually came for, and then they'd be like, all right. Let's take a 10-minute break. And During that 10-minute break. The producer would come up to me and be like, all right, so. Your budget's 10 grand.

I'm like, all right, cool.

So then I go back, right? That'd be like, yo, man. Knowing I can spend 10 grand, like, man, that's a very cool item. You know, we'd love to have it in the collection. Um Is there any way I could get it for...

I don't know, 2500. And he'd be like. No, I would never let it go for anything less than 15,000. And I'm like, wow, man, that's real out of my budget, man. Like, I can't really, I can't go that high, man.

Oh listen, man. Can we do can we Can we do five? Like, I feel like five's a good offer. Five's a good off. They're like, no, this is not, this is not.

But they don't know that what my budget is. And I like, this is, that's, that's a shoot. That's real. Like, they don't know.

So.

Eventually we get to, I'd be like, hmm. All right, man, I don't even know if I can do this, but. 10 grand. I'm probably looking in trouble for this. I haven't even cleared just with Stephanie and Hunter.

No, damn well, it's already clear. I haven't even cleared this with Stepping 100, man. 10 grand is the best I can do, final offer. You know, take or leave it. And they'd be like.

You know what?

Okay, deal. Yeah, I mean, you got to. But then sometimes My budget would be 10 grand. And I'd be like. Yo, um What are you thinking about, you know, you're trying to get for this?

And they'll be like, nah, man, you know, I want the collection to have it. You can take it. And in my mind, I'm like, no. No, you're leaving so much money on the table. Take the money, take the money.

Because I don't get the money that we save. Like, you get to pocket it. Yeah, I don't get to pocket it, right?

So.

It's like, oh man, but I can't tell them, hey, man, you actually get 10 grand for this, man. I don't want to do it. You know, AJ, that was kind of like I was on, yesterday was the four-year anniversary of me being on the price is right. Oh, wow.

So I got the whole way to the showcase showdown. It's a random way to remember Cinco de Mayo, but you've learned.

Well, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, it was May the 4th, not the 5th.

So, my bad. Yeah, that's how I'd keep them both in order.

So, it was May the 4th. They're the 4th be with you. I got to the showcase showdown, and that was like, I had a bed. I had two Harley Davidsons, blah, blah, blah. I made a bid and I and I knew, dog, I was like, I'm over.

Like, I went over and I wanted to tell the girl. playing against I really wanted to say to her like Yo. Bid low, bid a dollar, because I'm sure I went over, but I didn't have a chance to. I wanted to let her know. She ended up going over.

So we both, we, we both like, but we both overbid, and that's how the show ended.

So that was. But yeah, but you but you walk away with it at least. You had to win something to get into the final showcase. I want a ping-pong table.

Okay. And uh Orville Redenbacher, popcorn popper. One of those things I guarantee you use more than the other. And I ain't gonna put you a body shape. I ain't gonna body shape you and tell you what.

You know, well, I think it's kind of they see me, they know my big dog. The ping pong table is still in the box.

Okay. I believe that. 100%.

So let me keep this. But yeah, I really enjoyed it. I liked that show a lot, man.

So when I saw you pop up on NXT. You know, I think the show was still airing, but I was like, yo, I was like, yo. This is my man. Right.

So, like, so just seeing you.

Well, that was another thing. Like, we talked about it before, is like, I'm active.

So, like, People would see me and see me this, like, I'm top dollar now. While the show's airing. And on the show, I'm just dislikable, such, oh my God. But then Top Dolla, I'm like actively trying to make you hate me, right?

So, like, People would be like, oh. I can't believe in Top Dollar because he's such a nice guy on the show. And I'd be like, brother, I will beat you to death with my bare hands. What are you talking about? If you can't believe, I will beat you to death with my bare hands, bro.

What are you talking about? That's actually a funny concept because I feel like a lot of times, You know how you'll never, like, there's some actors where you just won't ever see them. Like they're just gone, and then when they come back, they can really put, like, I never see. Leo. Like you'll see pictures of Leo, but Leo don't be out.

Doing interviews or anything like that. Oh, no, no, you see. But then he could come in. You know, a lot of the like the the He can kind of turn into anything, and you'll believe him because you don't really know his personality. You don't really know.

And, you know, I I When it comes to especially like sports shows and stuff like that, I'm out there. Like, you're gonna see me. Yeah. And when I do get you. in that Ram of like, oh man, he really going there.

I think that gives you a little bit more credibility for like. Oh no, I know he not really like that. Yeah, still I believe. I believe right now. Like, I ain't never seen this side of you.

And so, like, I think that it just gives you a little bit of a challenge when people know or see you in a different light, and then you flip it on them. 'Cause then they they can't Put that finger on you still. Nah, for real. 100%.

And that's the funny thing is like. I have so many people are like. AJ Francis is such a better character than Todd Bala. It's the same fucking thing. Just a different name.

The only difference is I get a mic now. Like, that's the difference. Like, I get to talk now. I host segments now.

Now, instead of getting 15 seconds to talk, I get given a mic and they say, you got seven minutes, do whatever you want with it. Use it like Now I'm actually given the ball.

Now I'm a quarterback and I can show you that I'm fucking. Pat Mahomes. Before, I was, you know, I was treated like I was just a backup offensive lineman. Nah, nigga, I'm a star. When you want to have a five-star match, as they call it, yeah, I got plenty of those.

Go look at me versus Nick Nimmicks. Go look at the triple threat at Unbreakable with Eric Young. And I'm Steve Macklin. Go look at the Slammiversary Mac versus PCO. Hell, go to my indies and look at me versus Cha-Cha-Charli in a cage.

Go look at me versus Alex Kane in the King's Throne match at MLW Battle Right. I got the matches to back it up too. But when it comes to that mic work, ain't nobody better than me, man. Nobody, I don't give a fuck who they are. Ain't nobody better than me in any company.

Nobody better than me, man. If they got a problem with it, they know where I'm at. I talk like this all the time, and don't nobody ever address it because what the fuck are they going to say? They don't want these problems. Yeah, 'cause you s you you strike me as a person that just won't stop.

No, I won't get out of the hips track on your goofy ass fashion and then you can say, AJ, you brought up body shaming earlier.

So I want to bring this up, man. You went through just an incredible transformation with your weight loss and everything. Talk to us about how you were able to do that and just kind of change everything up because you found out you were diabetic, correct? Yeah, man. So obviously with the Impimus dive, that was when I finally recognized.

Something was wrong with my body, but I didn't know what was going on. Cause I've always been a super athlete, right?

So like, I didn't know what was going on. And then the dive made me like open your eyes like, yo. Because we've seen you do that before. I've done the dive a dozen times. I've done it so many times.

And it's actually not hard to do.

So when I couldn't even get off the ground, I was like, something is wrong. Like I lost my spring. Oh, that was the same thing as whatever.

So, you know, through a bunch of tests, I ended up finding out that I was diabetic. Uh and when I found out I was Very possibly about to go into a diabetic coma and then you gave me a moment because my blood sugar was through the roof. Right.

It had just gone. You know, unregulated for two. too long and my body was physically shutting down. I was at ketoacidosis. Um I was literally Bye-bye.

Were you feeling the signs like dry mouth and like losing weight a little bit? I was thirsty all the time. I lost a lot of weight. I was tired all the time. But you got to remember: I'm a pro wrestler, brother.

I'm training almost every day. I'm going into. I'm flying on planes all the time. Like I have a reason to be tiny. I have a reason to be s sluggish.

I'm losing all this weight.

So, of course, I'm not as strong as I was before because I was. 300 And when I was in the NFL, I was 330. I got to as heavy as 370, but when I was in the middle of my. at the peak of my ketoacidosis, I was like 258. Like I lost almost over 100 pounds.

So like. Of course, I'm not as strong as I was when I was 100 pounds heavier in my mind. That's how I'm thinking, you know. Um But yeah, I lose all this weight. Uh And then I finally started getting properly medicated.

And it's funny here is like now. I'm 330 again. But people think I'm like 275 because I'm just. Better built 330 than when I was. I'm built for TV now as opposed to being built to.

Own double teams, so it's a completely different style, you know what I'm saying?

So uh so like that's the cool figure but like Now like, I'm just as big as I was pre-diabetes, but. It's a better build. And I'm a much healthier. And I eat better. And I'm also getting older now.

Like I said, I turned 35 tomorrow.

So I just have to be more cognizant of every decision that I make. Damn. Hold on, bro. Wait, hold on. I just realized on the young founder.

Who's your birthday? February 24th, bro. We passed that, bro. I just hit 34, you know.

So you know this thing was born in 90. He was born in 91 forever. Want a cookie or something? 90 a way better 90 a way better year than 91 goofy ass 90. Chill, chill, chill.

But yeah, man, so I mean, I'm just in a better place right now. And, you know, it's funny because a lot of people say that my story with diabetes helped them get tested or helped them figure out what was going on with them. Um I actually Was booked to be the keynote speaker at like the National Conference for Diabetes. last year, but it'll end up being the same day as A pay-per-view for TNA, so I couldn't go, but. It was crazy like.

Uh it's crazy to like I'm like a just telling the truth. I'm a diabetic spokesperson now. Because what happened was for over a year, niggas just got the giggles and jokes off at my expense, not knowing that I literally was facing death. Right.

And mainly because I just didn't. Bring it up because I get treated differently on the internet. In every other restaurant. Like, so, and I know that.

So like if I Try to make it seem like y'all should. Not get your jokes off because I'm dying. Motherfuckers will just think I've been making it up. You know what I'm saying? So I just let everybody get their little giggles off.

And then a year later, I was like, yo, about those giggles? And then now everybody's like, oh, I'm sorry. Nah, keep your sorry. Yeah. And it is, you know, that's the one thing.

You know, we spoke about this before, but even when it came to like the Kevin Owens situation where KO was talking about, like, you know, I'm out of here. Because of injury, and you know, I don't know when I'm coming back. Everybody's like, We're getting worked, and I'm like, Bro, like. When can a wrestler be for real and be like, no, guys, I'm serious, and it's just. You know, it's funny, it's funny you brought up Kevin Owens because me and Kevin Owens actually have the same birthday.

Oh, damn. Happy birthday, Kevin. Happy birthday, Kayla. Yeah, man. So it's like a wrestler can literally be like, help.

You're fine. Help, please. I'm dying. Shut up. This is like.

That's a weird game, dude. That's a weird game to have to even play because. But it's cool. I said this on Twitter the other day, man. That year, year and a half where everybody used me as a punchline.

made the monster that you see today. It made me realize, fuck y'all. Taller. That's what y'all feel. I'm going through some shit.

Y'all, before everybody thinks I'm gonna be punchline, I don't care.

Well, fuck y'all. Oh, now I don't hold no punches.

Now I'll embarrass anybody. That's that's that's famous wrestler or internet pro. I don't give a shit. Fuck y'all. You know what I'm saying?

So like, I that's how I feel. People will be like It's so funny, like me and Tommy had this conversation at TNA. Because like first class is over as fuck. Yeah, yes, we get booed. But When we go money, money, money, damn near the whole crowd is saying it.

You see what I'm saying? Like, he's like, man. He's like, man. Which out? I want to try to make you guys babyfaces.

And I'm like, no, Tommy, no, I don't want to be no babyface. Fuck Debbie. Then I'll fuck them forever. Yeah, I'm a heel, brother. Yeah, nah.

Listen, bro, being a heel is just that's just fun, man. Like, TJ would tell you, I get a kick out of being. A heel, even if I don't agree with what I'm talking about on television. Dr. Deem a Hill.

I don't really hate these.

Well, some of the cities I do hate that I go to, but like, I don't really hate these cities. Like, I don't really hate, like, I love Montreal. Montreal is one of my favorite cities on earth, but every time I go to Montreal or in the mic, oh, I hate that motherfucker, and I'm gonna say it in French too, just to let them make sure they know. No doubt. Now, I believe it's time, TJ.

I think it's time for the question. All right, let's go. Yeah. We have asked this question from day one, and we will continue until day nine. I need Yeah.

You in a bar. It's about 50 dudes in there that don't want you in there. I need you to pick a team of you. And four other wrestlers to make sure you're making it to the car. Yeah, one question.

This is in their prime, not no, of any time, yeah. Like any time, yeah.

Okay. For I go, I'm gonna start with Haku for sure.

Now that I know what I know. That was all. I think we're at the point, O'Shea, now where we might just have to retire Haku. We might have to put his jersey up.

Now, I think you might be the last person because from now on, I'll think about it. But you got history with him. It makes sense for you. That's fine. Cockup, for sure.

Um number two. It's going to cause some controversy. But it's the fucking truth. Brock Lesnar. Oh my God.

Hey, Jay, Cassidy, what controversy is that causing? Dang, man. I don't want to get into his personal dealings currently. I'll just say. The Brock Lesnar, okay?

Editors for sure. Um Mark Henry. I mean, you probably. If Mark Henry, as I say, you're the world's strongest of those two, yeah, for real. Like like he's not just the world show of his mates.

Mark is just like me in the sense that like we're the nicest Biggest teddy bear that you could ever meet in your life. Marcus. Until the moment. That we need to become a grizzly bear, then we are your worst fucking nightmare. And Martin reviews that thing.

I would say, you know, that's that's four. Absolute killers. Myself, Paku. Rock and Mark. I mean, I think the four of us could take.

Sifty guys on, but I get an extra person. And I would be remiss. If I didn't mention Yeah. We need a little, we need more of a little speed, a little more agility. We got a lot of, look at.

So I want to shout out. Booker T. Yeah, the book is T gonna be that fifth man, and we're gonna be whooping ass today. Come on, man. Come on, the Yap B Booker, Mark, Brock, and Haku.

Lord, good luck. Yeah, yeah, let me tell you something. I ain't gonna lie, I think the five of us could beat that gorilla. I ain't gonna lie. I really think if you put me, pride my coop, pride Brock Lesnar, pride Mark Henry, prime Booker T against a Silverback Gorilla, we're offering the same.

I think we are. Bro, I don't like That's a solid team, dude. I mean, as a bar owner, I don't know if I've left them in the first place. I mean, you're all catching cases after that, whether you started the fight or not. Like, for sure.

Your insurance premium going to the roof. I like that. I like that. Y'all not even at a table regularly. I gotta bring a chair in and help somebody.

No, for real. Yeah. No, man. All right, AJ, so uh Continue with the of all time theme that we got going on right now. I'm giving you a time machine.

And you get to go back in time. and you get to pick. four wrestlers. No, no, let's say five. Give me five wrestlers.

from any era. that you would bring back to this era, or you could go to them. But you would headline WrestleMania with. Ooh, really?

Well, here's the thing: Dream Man. I get it. My thing is this. I know if I'm headlining in WrestleMania, it's as a deal. I'll never be the babyface in that situation ever.

Not just because of my mic work, but because of my size. I could Like, there's not a lot of people that could make me a believable babyface in the main event of WrestleMania.

So.

I'm gonna go. Barack. Yeah. That's, we're doing numbers. Doing numbers.

stone pulled For sure. No, no, he prints money.

So numbers. Just because he's such a The realest babyface. Brent's heart.

Okay. Come bread hard. Come on, baby. You'd probably be tripping out that Brett Hurt. Man, what Bretton Yoko may have been in two WrestleMania?

People don't talk enough about that. When they talk about people who have benefited most of WrestleMania, they don't talk about Brett Yoko going back to back on any.

So.

Right.

Mm. Just because it's WrestleMania, I had to go to Paker. Sure. Makes sense. Take her.

And um Smoothie. I mean I He's my current favorite. He has been for damn near a decade. I would have to go I'm stuck. Because Oh, I'm going to go Roman.

I'm gonna go wrong. I'm gonna go wrong then. Roman would be one, but I do want to also say, mention, I wish I could. You know, we had to cut the list down, but Bray Wyatt was another.

Okay. Bray Wyatt's Bray Wyatt's actually one of the only people that could actually be potentially make me a baby face just because he could literally be a demon. Right.

So Bray, bro. Man, what a guy, dude. Definitely miss. Yeah, for real. Yeah, well, like, did you ever hear?

Did you ever hear the story about the storyline that I pitched to break? No. Y'all love this. I know you guys got to work on it. A little bit near the end.

A little bit.

So, so that when we did this signal with Brave, that was also in Montreal. And um Uh That was one of the nights I told everyone how much I hate Montreal, which is not true. And uh Bray, like that day, I pitched an idea of a storyline going forward to him. And he loved it. Because it was the storyline was based off of Leprechaun in the hoolet.

Oh my God. And look, so you all seem to have a card.

So the thought process I had going into it. was the fact that I would be Ice-T's character, obviously. Um And We were just acting upon. The firefly fun house. Like, we'd see a sign that points down a dark hallway that says, you know, fear.

Well, you who enter.

So we're like, oh, okay. And I'm like, shit, I ain't going to that. You ain't never seen a scary movie? And B-Faz, like, why are you so scared, bro? And I'm like, I ain't scared, man.

And then we end up going down there, right?

So we go down there and we walk into the firefight funhouse. But at this point, Gray. has been gone for a while. Like he hasn't even come from far out yet. You know, he's still doing the character.

The Uncle Howdy character, right?

So he hadn't even gone back to the front house yet at this point.

So I'm like, yo. How about? We happen upon the Firefoot Funhouse, but it's. Cobwebs everywhere. It's clear nobody's been there.

It's it's just it's dis was you know, disheveled everywhere. And we start picking up, playing with stuff. And then I pick up Rambling Rabbit, aka Lucky Rabbit's Foot, aka the Golden Flute from Lepper Prime Minister Lib, right? And I pick it up and as soon as I pick it up. The whole place starts going crazy.

Haywire, lights start flashing, all the things start coming to life. We're like, we got to get out of here. We're like, see what we do with me. We're going to run it.

So we run out, but I take Graham and Rabbit with me. But Lucky Rabbitsville, like at this point, we've been losing everything. And now shit starts going our way. We start winning matches. Shit just starts happening good for us.

And Bray realizes that we have his Rambler Rabbit. And he comes up to us and he goes, hey. Listen, man, I don't want any. I don't need problems. I don't want to have to start anything like Just please give me my rabbit back, man, and we can call it even, and you can keep everything nicely, you know, and then I'm like.

I didn't give you shit. Like, oh my God. This is my rattle. This is my rattle. I found.

This, this is my. You shouldn't have been leaving things out if you were so bad. And look, I don't know, you didn't care about it. When I went there, it was covered in cobbler and you didn't give a damn.

So I don't give it back.

So then now he starts this meticulous manner of hunting us down. First, he hunts Tahootie, then he hunts BFAB, then he gets me, and then it leads to a match. And then the match leads to a tag team match with me and Tahootie versus him and Uncle Howdy, which leads to a six-man match, which is me, Tahudi, and Bree versus him, Uncle Howdy, and Alexa Bliss. Like, we had this whole, I had this whole storyline planned out that could have gone on for six months, right? And he absolutely loved it because, not even just because he loved the story, he loved the whole story of how we set everything up, how we get everything remote.

But what I didn't know is him and his brother Taylor, they loved Leprechaun in the hood. That was like one of their favorite movies. I didn't even know, I thought I was at the pitch him on the movie. Because, you know, you tell somebody, yo, I got this idea based off leprechaun in the hood. They're like, what the fuck?

That sounds crazy. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? But like, I said it to him. He was like, lepre in the hood, up to no good. I said, oh, this thing is on the ball.

So, like, they were all in before I even told them all the little details, just because the idea was based off leprechaun in the hood. They were both like, yes, yes, we love this. And it was cool. It was cool. Just another cool brain square.

Right, man.

Now, You're doing your thing over in TNA, man. Yeah. CJ, ain't we gonna be. Out there around the same time as them. Yeah, I mean, it's in Irvine coming up, right?

Yeah, man. Listen, man. Listen, man. You know me. I bring the people out.

I mean, okay. Thanks to me, T and A has seen the likes of them. DJ Luke? Yeah. On B.

Fun beat, laugh. That's Texas, baby. I'm Tyro.

Okay John Merriman. Oh, right. Life's out. Life's out. I'm Tyro.

Exactly. Alyx, Blockboy JB. I mean, the list goes on and on. We got. We got Reezy Renegade, we got Mo, Noel Foley, Freddie DeCloud.

I mean, I bring the people out. That's what I do. That's why I'm here. I'm here for the celebrity. portion of the show so You know, I have the first-class penthouse.

It's my own personal talk show, my own personal Piper's Pit. And I think it would be cool if we could add some Hollywood lineage to the first class penthouse, have a real Hollywood movie star come out and kick it with us on the first class penthouse. What do you think about that, O'Shea? I mean, it's a no-contest wrestling exclusive. I will be there, bro.

I'll do it. Let's do it. Let's go. You print money. You print money.

Yeah. All right. First class. I'm there.

Sound like me already.

Well, AJ, speaking of TNA, man, tell us just a little bit about your time there. It seems like you're having a blast, man. Seems like everything's going well.

So I asked Ricky Saints this. And he was like, wow, man, no one's ever asked me that question before.

So in addition, I'm going to ask you the same question. Are you happy? Yeah. incredibly happy but i'm never satisfied that's the thing is that like I've had an incredible run in TNA for the last year and a half. I went from a punchline to the undeniable best heel in the business.

So, like, That happened in a year and a half's time. Uh And I still want more. I want to be TNA World Champion. The fact that Joe Hendry has the TNA World title makes me sick because we all know I made Joe Hendry, right? We all know that.

We all know that. He was singing the same songs for years. Nobody cared till he started talking shit about me. Right.

And I had Bun B next to me and then it went viral and then everything happened what happened, right? Like, we know, we know what happened. Nobody wants to give me my flowers.

So that's why I wear them myself. Right.

So.

So, this is the truth. We all know this.

So, it makes me sick that he's the TNA World Champion. I should be TNA World Champion. But, you know, that's another story for another time. And when we want to finally make some real money, we'll get back to what really got good. People forget me.

The 2024 Feud of the Year in TNA, without a doubt, no question at all. It was Joe Henry versus AJ Francis. We had one match. And it was On impact, it wasn't even a pay-per-view. We had one singles match and then old run.

So imagine what we could do with a full story, right?

So it's a valid point.

So That being said. um you know first class has been a blessing first working with rich swan Rich is the reason that I became TNA Digital Media Champion because the creative team wanted to give that title to Rich Sean. And Raswan. Told them, you guys are missing the boat. The guy is A.J.

Francis. That's the guy. That's the guy that you need to put this title on, not me.

Now, there's a lot of people in this restaurant business that would do that.

So, Rich Swan will forever have my love and respect for that because then I made the digital media title the most important title in the world. I had it front row at Copa America. I had it. All over the country and all over the world, in multiple countries. I had it on every TV channel.

I had it on ESPN, I had it on, you know, the Kay Adams show on FanDuel. I had it everywhere, right? Mm. Like, then all of a sudden it became it mattered.

So, like, and then as soon as I lost it, it stopped mattering again.

So much so, it doesn't even exist anymore, right?

So, like. The fact that I've been able to do these things in TNA. Like I said, I get a talk those seconds. Where they just give me a mic and say, you got seven minutes, do with it what you want. They don't ask, they don't ask me.

Don't even ask me what I'm going to say. Literally, they don't even ask me what I'm going to say, which I used to my advantage the first time. Because I went out there. Give them a hint, TJ. They told me, they told me, they said, we just want you to make it, it was the first live.

Uh, it was not the first, but it was a live episode of TNA Impact. They were like, We just want you to make us cause a seed, cause a ruckus. I said, No problem.

So I went out there and said what I really felt, got some things off my chest, did my own version of a pipe bomb, then fake introduced AJ Styles, and it went everywhere. You know what I'm saying? Right, right, right, right. But even in that interview, like they told me afterwards, they were like, Yeah, if you told us you were going to say X, Y, and Z, we would have told you you couldn't say it. But we gave you the, like, one of the first things, like, I was like, I've always been a Roddy Piper guy.

Cause I was $40, I grabbed my own. Piper's fit. I said, I've always been a Roddy Piper guy.

So much so that I hated Hulk Hogan before it was cool. They didn't. They did not know that I was going to say that. Better ask for forgiveness than permission. Yeah, but it worked, bro.

It worked.

So they were like, cool. And you know what I'm saying? I've done so many, so I was able to do so many different things with it. That, like, now I have they have full unilateral trust in me.

So I get to do whatever I want, whatever I want. And that's the thing about TNA: that, like, I have been put in a position to show how good I am. And I would love for that to be a message to all the people that got released last week, is the fact that, like, Sometimes the release is the best fucking thing that can happen to me. Was I in WWE working for the company of my dreams, making a shit ton of money? Absolutely.

Did I love my time there? Absolutely. Did I want to leave? Absolutely not. Right.

If I was still in WWE right now, I wouldn't be doing shit. I'd still not be doing shit. I'd still be in catering. I'd still be cutting 15-second promos to get jobbed out by whoever is the Johnny Cun Lately of the week. Like, I still would be in that role in WWE.

And that is not who I am anymore. I am the bona fide best heel in the business. And I prove it time and time again. Uh there's there's no More denying my greatness. You can't deny how great I am anymore.

If you don't realize how great I am now, you're either blind, deaf, or dumb. Right.

So, like, you don't understand what's happening right in front of your face. Right.

Bro, you are continuing to be undeniable. And I love what you said about just getting me the opportunity. And yeah, I mean, we've seen plenty of examples where. leaving making your own stardom. Can obviously even lead you to bigger and better things within that same company.

I mean, the first person comes to mind is Drew McIntyre, you know, he was able to leave and build on himself and come back. Yeah, bro, Cody is king of that right now, right?

So, yeah, dude, I man, you got a fan in me. I know you got a fan of TJ. No doubt, no doubt. A lot of people want to believe in Joe Henry. We believe in AJ Francis.

Yeah, there you go. Because y'all are smart. Nobody believed in Joe Henry until he started talking about me. Let's keep it real. All right.

They didn't believe in that man.

Now they believe in him. You're welcome, Joseph. Hey, bro. Thank you for your time, man. I'm going to hit you later today because I still want to hear that story.

Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah, brother. But much love to you, much health to you, and happy birthday for the notion of this rest of the podcast. Thank you, man. I appreciate you, man.

And, you know, next year when you turn 35, I'm going to be on your head, boy. Yeah, I listen. I know you, I know 36 is going to be right around the corner for you, brother. All right. all right enjoy yourself g uh and uh you know wear your hat you know what i'm talking about AJ Francis, everybody.

AJ Francis. How's it going, bro? That was dope. That was dope. Bro, I know.

He got some story. Right.

And not only that, let me tell you something, AJ Francis is not lost. For Believing in himself. You know what I'm saying? That man's got confidence. And, you know, already I know you're going to get a lot of people doing the pushback about the best heel thing, this, that, and the third.

But the thing is, man, if you don't believe in yourself to that point, then why should I believe in you? Like, you know what I mean? Like, after he's done, I'm like, yo. Dude, that's the best hill. Like, you know what I'm saying?

You have to believe before anyone else can believe.

So, shout out to Adrian, bro. Why believe you? You never gave us nothing to believe in. You know what I'm saying? But I got to be honest, that was one of my favorite interviews.

You know, we could have gone a little bit deeper to the days in the WWE, whatever, but like. He seems to be in a good place now. He's happy. He's got a lot of control, a lot of freedom. And it looks like we got something to do.

All right. We're going to be a guest of the first-class penthouse. Yeah, bro. I got a man. I gotta, you gotta give me a shirt or something.

You know, I ain't trying to just be out, you know, black teed up. But yeah, that's exciting. All right. You don't think he goes nah, nothing, nothing. He knows.

I just don't want, don't catch me in no heel drama, bro. He invited you. You're against him. I know, I'm against. That's right.

Come on. That's right. That's right. I'm against. But you never know.

He is a heel. I know. That's the problem. You see how much he be thinking? I signed up for something crazy.

I know. He may have. Yeah, that was dope, man. That was dope, man. Shout out to AJ Francis.

He's always a friend on the Nel Constance Wrestling Podcast. I'm happy for him. You know, he took a situation that could have been bad and flipped it around, and now he's thriving, man. Absolutely. Was that our first TNA guess?

I believe so, dog. Yeah. I'll grow. He got, man, he looks okay. That's a milestone right there, man.

First, first of many, probably, you know. Absolutely, man. Everybody over there treats us so well. Once again, Tommy Dreamer, you know, you always got fans in us, but you always, you, you treated us great when we're there for the pay-per-view, man. Excited to see what they got.

Out of Nervine, man. But I think that's it for our episode. Yeah, you know, Shay, this went on a little bit longer than normal, but I know people want us to talk about the releases. And all that, which I know we both have thoughts on.

So, what do you say about today? Tuesday, what if like Thursday we just hop on Zoom again, either Wednesday or Thursday, kind of get our thoughts out. We'll just, you know, put it out on Instagram, Twitter. Yeah, yeah, I think that'll be good. I think also, you know, there's some whispers that it's not done yet, so we don't know if something.

Else might pop up for more BS.

So let the smoke settle a little bit. Uh, gather our thoughts, and yeah, I'm you know, I'm down, bro. All you gotta do is call me, you the humble. Whatever you like, let's do it, bro. Yeah, to those releases, though, those people that get released, you know, take the words of AJ, take the words of Matt Cardona.

You know, look at the careers of Drew McIntyre, Trinity, Naomi, you know, Cody, look at Cody, look at the people who either ask for the release, look at Tony Storm, ask for her release. You know, either you get release, you ask for your release. But look, that's why this whole tribalism of Wanting a company to fail is so insane to me, man, because now all these people still have places that they can go make money and eat. Why would you want to deny that to anybody? It doesn't make sense, but uh.

Anyway, that's it for now. Make sure you check us out on our socials. There's no contest on X. No contest wrestling podcast on Instagram and all of the videos on the Rich Stysen Show YouTube page.

Well, that's it for me. I said for TJ, we love y'all, like y'all love us. Talk to you Thursday. We'll see you next Monday. Emma, do you think it's a good thing?
