This is the Old Trailblazer Broadcast. This is Pastor Albert Pendarvis, the Old Trailblazer. Pastor Albert Pendarvis, been here with you a long time, many of you, uh, several years, and yet we have new listeners every day. But we're looking at baptism with a demon spirit, and we saw that how before Satan can take over the religious world, he has to set aside, or fufu, the great old doctrines of God's Word, such as the sovereignty of God, the total depravity of man, salvation by grace, blood redemption in Christ. You don't hear those, do you? You hear those in your church? Oh, listen, listen my friend, Satan sets those things aside over a period of time, and it's just about universal. Now, we're looking there, uh, going down the line, and, uh, the church having departed, and we use that word referring to the whole of Christendom, the church having departed from the body of divine truth has laid the groundwork for Satan to come in with his masterpiece of imitation of spiritual life. We see that believing-ism, we mentioned that in our last study, how that we, uh, that's a word now that we've coined, but easy believing-ism. That means giving your heart to Jesus, shaking the preacher's hand, joining some church, and calling that salvation, being baptized, calling that salvation, thus setting aside Holy Spirit conviction.

You know what that is? I've had folks write me and say, Trev, what do you mean by Holy Spirit conviction? What do you mean by an awakened sinner?

So let me just take a break, take a break here, breather, and tell you. Man, by nature, comes into this world as a sinner. That's right, he may be intellectual, he may be socially pure, he may be clean, he may be all of those things, and let's hope so, but he's not saved, he's a sinner. He has broken God's law, maybe on a high plane, maybe on a low plane, but when the Lord gets ready to save that individual, the Holy Spirit comes there and sends the error of the truth, God's word. That's the reason the scripture says, Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. No sinner ever gets saved without hearing the truth. Somewhere along the line, he hears the truth. You know the old thief there on the cross who turned to the Lord? You know he heard those folks on the ground saying, this man, this man calls himself the Son of God. This man, if he be the Son of God, let him come down, let him save himself and save us. That truth went home to this man's heart. It doesn't take much truth. No, it doesn't take much truth to open a sinner's heart.

I often call it a bobbed arrow. It's like an arrow that you thrust into your heart, my friend, and opened that heart by the power of the Holy Spirit. Well, that's how the Lord begins to deal with the heart. Now, to set aside Holy Spirit conviction, set aside repentance. What is repentance, trailblazer? John the Baptist was out there in the wilderness preaching repentance. He said, repent, repent, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish.

Then the Lord Jesus Christ spoke there in Luke, I believe it's in the 13th chapter. He said, except you repent, except you repent. You say, well, trailblazer, what is repentance? My friend, when the Lord begins to deal with your heart, there's no repentance apart from Holy Spirit conviction.

No, no, you never repent until you see your need of repentance. I told folks here not long ago, no one gets up on a good frosty morning clear and sunshine and bright, sit on the side of the bed and stretch and get some good cool air in your lungs. Well, Mama, I'm going to go down to the doctor today and get a checkup. No, you don't do that, do you? No, what do you do? When you wake up with a burning fever and a headache and a sore aching body, you say, Mama, call the doctor.

I need to see the doctor. Just so it is in the spiritual reality, as long as you don't see your need, you're not going to call on the Lord. And that's why we call, ask the Lord, beg the Lord for Holy Spirit conviction. When the Holy Spirit begins to show you, to enlighten you, shine the light into that darkened heart. Oh, what a darkened, dreary heart, my friend. Man, by nature, loves darkness because sin loves darkness rather than light because our deeds are evil. But when the Lord gets ready to save that individual, the light comes, the light of the glorious gospel.

Oh, my friend, what a gracious time. Setting aside Holy Spirit conviction, that's what Satan attempts to do, and repentance, the ministry is getting their profession without possession, producing religion without life. To have faith without repentance is to build your religious life without a foundation. Therefore, having missed Holy Spirit conviction, folks have missed repentance. Have you ever repented?

You say, well, why? I hadn't done anything. Yes, you come into this world as a sinner. You're to blame. You're to blame, my friend. Did you know nobody takes a blame now? Nobody takes a blame for anything, my friend.

I long for the day when I'll see folks taking the blame. You say, is that repentance? Yes, sir.

Yes, sir. You take the blame before God. You admit to the Lord that you are a sinner. You admit that you have broken every law, the decalogue of all of God's righteousness. You've broken those things, my friend, and you're a sinner. Therefore, having missed the Holy Spirit conviction, you missed repentance, missed repentance, you missed a new birth.

Having missed a new birth, you missed Christ. Therefore, you have a camouflaged religion without life. This is the dark background that we face today in the religious world. There's no need to try to kid ourselves.

Brother, you can run off, stick your head in the sand, but listen, that doesn't change the situation. Just like I mentioned in our last study or two, folks won't have the Bible, and I tell them this is God's Word that I hold in my hand, believe it and be saved, disbelieve it and go to hell. You say, well, that's cruel.

No, no, it's not cruel to be true to somebody. I ask the Lord day by day for compassion. Lord, give me compassion. I do.

I see folks, and I attempt to tell them about the grace of God. They won't have it. They want one here and one there will have it. The old trailblazer don't make a dent in folks' lives hardly. Surely one here and one there call me.

I got an email from an individual yesterday praising the Lord for the old trailblazer. Way out in California, out there in California, you'd think that's the most rottenest place in the world. I do. I've been there. I know what goes on there.

Forty years ago when I was there. Oh, but listen, God has his elect, one here and one there, and we can't deny it, my friend. But listen, I know there's a present religious movement on now known as Decision for Christ. That's a big slogan that they have on the billboard.

Decision for Jesus, Decision for Christ. But listen, it's another way of Satan's masterpiece to keep the human heart and the mind blinded to its ruined condition. It's widespread. Listen, it's widespread among our youth. They have a youth for Christ, youth for Jesus, as well as other religious movements of the day, and they're being brought to bear now, pressured to get decisions.

Decision. The hierarchy in the churches require that the local pastors have so many decisions for Jesus in a given period, or if not, they may have to move on. You see these preachers moving on? It may be because they didn't meet their quota. My friend, isn't that awful?

Isn't that awful? The Bible says salvation is of the Lord. Remember old Jonah? Old Jonah was there in the belly of that fish, and some folks fufu that, but the Bible says so, and I believe it. He was in the belly of that fish, and he finally, he finally, he finally admitted to himself that God was right, and he was wrong. He disobeyed God's law. He disobeyed God's instruction for his heart, and he finally said salvation is of the Lord, and that old fish, whether it was a whale or a shark or whatever it was, it vomited him up.

He had all he could stand of him. Isn't that grace? It's amazing that the Lord don't vomit you and me out of his presence. We're so rotten. We're so vulgar.

We're so proud. The Lord hates self-righteousness more than I hate a rattlesnake. The Lord hates it, my friend, but listen, in the face of this dark background, listen, religion without life, profession without Christ, Satan steps in with his preachers of righteousness and tells him through his ambassadors and prophets and preachers and teachers that the only thing the great multitude of folks need today who profess Christ is the deeper life with God. You who tell me that you're already saved, he says, you just need a deeper life. They say we believe. We believe you're saved because you trust in Jesus.

This is another route of Satan's camouflage. We believe, they say, that you're going to heaven. Listen, but they say you're a carnal Christian. They say you haven't spoken in tongues. You haven't witnessed by the Holy Spirit. All of those things. Oh, you're just a fleshly Christian.

You're just a babe. You need to go out of the seventh chapter of Romans into the eighth chapter. In other words, Satan's preachers of righteousness will tell you, yes, you know Jesus as you're saved. But you need power in your life. Some folks go together and they have these power prayer meetings.

They don't give up until they're filled with the power. And I tell you, it's a demon spirit. It's a demon spirit, my friend.

It's a demon spirit. And I know, I know, I know. I'll just tell you this.

I have a friend who lives up north, a truck driver. And he's a religious person back before the Lord saved him. And he stopped his truck one night in one place and went to a meeting they were having.

He'd heard about it. And after the service was over, anybody wanted to be saved, they hold their hand up. Well, he held his hand up and they went back there, took them all back in the little room and began to pray with them and pray with them. And every so often they'd ask them, had they received the Holy Spirit?

Had they received the Holy Spirit? He said he didn't know nothing about what they was talking about. He just listened to them pray. And he said he finally realized, he said he had a truck over across town with the motor idling.

He had to get back on the road. And he finally realized that they were not going to let him out until he spoke in tongues. And he was from South America. He had a language that you and I wouldn't understand. And he said he went to talking in that, just praising the Lord in that language. He wasn't speaking in tongues or nothing like that. And he said they didn't know what he was saying. And they went to shouting, he's got it, he's got it, he's got it.

Patting him on the back and shoved some literature in his hand and let him out the door. And he never looked back. Now my friend, that's a true story. But you see how deceived those individuals are? They thought he was speaking in some kind of tongue.

And he was a foreign tongue to them. But I tell you, my friend, what a tragedy we're facing today. That's just a minuscule example of what's going on in the religious world today. Oh, and I praise the Lord for the truth that we send out here is Christ or hell. That's what we preach. It's Christ or hell. We don't preach those things. We preach Christ. Christ came into the world to seek and to save that which was lost. He did.

He did, my friend. And that's our only hope. And I praise the Lord for it. The old trailblazer has nothing in the world except being saved, being delivered, being taught of the Lord day by day to look to the Lord in all things. I wish I could speak what I'd like to speak. I wish I could say what's on my heart. I wish I could sit down by your side, drink a cup of coffee and eat a piece of pie with some of you folks up there in Wheeling, West Virginia or up there in Appalachia or somewhere over there in Newport News, Virginia or even up there in Maryland or Washington, D.C., wherever you are, Knoxville, Tennessee, Nashville, wherever you are, you folks write me. Let's sit down and write me and tell me how the Lord saved you.

Maybe you want to be saved. Maybe you'd like the trailblazer to pray for you. Maybe you'd like our prayer group here. If you have sick folks, let us pray for them. And then I told you, if you have someone confined to the bed, you write me and I'll send them one of our radio choir CDs, 18 good old blood songs. Oh, my friend, it'll be a blessing to their heart. Then remember the old trailblazer and your prayers. Remember my address is the old trailblazer, post office box 1810, Walker, Louisiana, 70785. And my website, radiomissions.org. Goodbye. God bless you. Now I praise Thee, precious Savior, That Thy love lay hold on me. Channels only, blessed Master, But with all Thy wondrous power Flowing through us, Thou canst use us Every day and every hour.
