Welcome fellow Joy Riders to the Masculine Journey Joyride Podcast! On this podcast you will hear funny stories, exchanges, and thought provoking moments that will amuse you, make you smile, and draw you closer to Jesus Christ in your journey of life.

Hey Joyriders! This week, Harold talks about the poetry he writes about his wife and other subjects, which is another story that coincides with the fourth stage that a man should go through in his life, which is the lover stage. The clip is from "Strauss II-On the Beautiful Blue Danube Op. 314."

Welcome, fellow adventurers, to the Masculine Journey Joyride Podcast. This is a brand-new show from the guys you know.

I'm talking, of course, about the Band of Brothers. My name is Keith, and I'm the producer for Masculine Journey and Masculine Journey After Hours. In this podcast, you will hear funny stories, exchanges, and thought-provoking moments that will amuse you, make you smile, and draw you closer to Jesus Christ in your journey of life. Your beauty, like a fresh scent from a flower. Your kind words and sweet disposition never leaves me dour. You are a sight to behold, both near and far away. Your smile can only be compared to a bright and sunny day. My love for you runs deeper than the ocean and sea. Oh, enough of this rhyming.

Let's watch some TV. Okay, okay, you got me. I'm not much of a poet, but do you know who is? Harold is, and his gift of rhyme is the subject of this week's clip. Harold, poetry. I mean, you've been writing it for a day or two.

You've been writing it several years. What is it about poetry that makes your heart come alive, that speaks beauty in ways that other things don't? I like the fact that the right poetry, you take a thought and you distill it into as few words as possible to express as much as possible. And that, to me, is the joy and the fulfillment that I get from writing it. And my sweetheart has been the inspiration for most of the poems that I've written, but I have a few others that don't deal with her that I think are really good. One of my most favorite ones is titled Jan and the Wren. And I have a photograph of my sweetheart and her recliner doing her Bible study and a photograph of the Wren outside on the deck rail.

Because early in the morning, they both get up, happy as they can be, and each one having so much to say, having company with God. I love that particular one. And it does involve her, of course. But the Wren is now my second most favorite bird. That's pretty cool. Behind the mockingbird. Yeah. I'd like to get a copy of Ode to Dishwasher. So from the guys on Masculine Journey, I'm Keith, and we'll see you down the road. This is the Truth Network.
