Welcome, fellow adventurers, to the Masculine Journey Joyride Podcast. This is a brand-new show from the guys you know.

I'm talking, of course, about the Band of Brothers. My name is Keith, and I'm the producer for Masculine Journey and Masculine Journey After Hours. In this podcast, you will hear funny stories, exchanges, and thought-provoking moments that will amuse you, make you smile, and draw you closer to Jesus Christ in your journey of life.

Hey, joyriders, NWNJ. Okay, so I was thinking about something earlier. Let's say you're hanging out with your friends, your buddies, pals, peeps, you know, your crew, and you bring up a topic of discussion, something serious in nature, and you want to have an earnest conversation. Imagine that you've given serious thought and consideration to this all-time important discussion. You've rehearsed what you wanted to say and how you wanted to say it. You've put in a considerable amount of time looking at this topic from every possible angle. There can be no doubt you are ready for this conversation, and you begin to speak.

You lay out your position on the matter in meticulous detail. As you're talking, one of your friends latches onto something you said that they find funny, and they share their observation with the group. The group laughs desperately. You laugh with them and try to get the conversation back on track, but to no avail.

Your friends now have the giggles. Anyway, that's just something I was thinking about before I had to come here and record, you know. There's something right off the top of my head. Never happened to me. Never. Never happened to me, you know.

Just thought y'all would want to know. So, yeah. Hey, I got an idea. Let's hear a clip. Yeah. Andy, it's time for you to set up the quintessential clip. We always use this clip at boot camp.

Yeah, it is part of the boot camp package. And we use it in the sonship talk, but this is a part of that sonship. It's an important part. It's when William's father dies after he's been killed in battle. We talked about his sons' sonship last week, but his dad is killed in battle. And then there's just a sequence of events that are shortly together in the movie that really kind of spell out a lot of what he's experiencing in that cowboy ranger.

And I'd rather just talk about them after the clip. William, I'm your uncle. Argyll, you have the look of your mother. We'll stay here tonight. Tomorrow, you'll come home with me. I don't want to leave. You didn't want your father to die either, did you?

But it happened. Did the priest give a poetic benediction? The Lord bless thee and keep thee. Out risen Latin.

You don't speak Latin? Well, that's something we shall have to remedy, isn't it? The Lord bless thee and keep thee. The Lord cause his light to shine on thee. The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee and give thee peace. Your heart is free.

Have the courage to follow it. So just starting going through there, I gotta go through this real quick. There's so much into that.

So the first part is he's lost his dad and his uncle from his dad's side comes in and he doesn't really want to be with him, but as the guy goes along. And he was kind of a socks guy. Yeah, he was.

How long? I should have known. I should have saw that one coming. Uncle Argyle. Yeah. I always thought the greatest line come back for that was, you know, you have the look of your mother. You could have said, you have the look of me sweater. So from the guys at Masculine Journey, I'm Keith and we'll see you down the road. This is the Truth Network.
