Welcome to all you Joyriders out there. This is a fantastic show from the guys you know. I'm speaking of none other than the Band of Brothers. My name's Keith, producer for such fine truth network programming like The Masculine Journey and Masculine Journey After Hours. In this podcast, you can expect to laugh and smile with godly men who want nothing more than to honor and glorify God.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the joyride. Hey Joyriders and welcome to a brand new episode of The Joyride. This week, the guys continue with their foundation series with the topic of hold on. Hold on, hold on. Ooh, it's hard to breathe with that thing on.
See, I thought I would add a little flavor, you know, some pizazz if I wore a mask while doing the show. Terrible idea. Absolutely terrible. but works out perfectly because this week's topic is POSER. A poser is someone that acts in an insincere or exaggerated way because they want to make a particular impression on other people.
In some circles that's called putting on airs or fronting. Like for example, someone you know pulls up in a nice looking car and he's trying to act like it's his car but everyone already knows it belongs to his cousin. Yeah, that dude is fronting. He probably posing in front of the car too.
So before we get to the clip, there is someone else that be out there posing. In 2 Corinthians 11 chapter, starting at verse 12, Paul wrote this to the church in Corinth. But what I am doing I will continue to do, so that I may cut off opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the matter about which they are boasting. For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.
Therefore it is not surprising if his servants who also disguise themselves as servants of righteousness, whose end will be according to their deeds.
So let's not be positive, because it does us no good to do so. Ah, you know what? The Masters isn't working for me. Anyway. Watch it a clip.
We did a show on dismantling, disrupting, and these, and he will disrupt. your opposed, because he knows you're doing it. Just like that person in church, when you ask them how they're doing, they got this look on their face like the world's coming to an end. Oh, I'm fine. Are you?
And once you begin to walk in this message and you can really help people, you're not trying to embarrass them or anything else, you're just. Digging a little deeper, like what's really going on? Because you really care, and God does too. And because of that, he he disrupts you, but be prepared. Right?
to realize Then oh my gosh. There are certain things that I am not completely comfortable with. you know, in God's presence. And honestly had a remarkable experience this morning. Where And I was praying.
And when I went to the throne of grace boldly, in in in complete authenticity, Jesus starts wrestling with me. Like, I'm serious he puts me in a headlock. And I'm like, what's up with this? And he was just playing. He was just playing.
Why? He was exposing how tight I was. He was exposing that this was very stiff. And this wasn't That wool. You know, a father and son.
Like, you know how it is when your dad puts you in a headlock and gives you snuggie or whatever. You know, it's just part of what, you know, what's supposed to be there. But it was just remarkable to me. And I won't ever forget actually what happened this day. It was this morning.
That you're still the boy. Yeah, you're still a boy, and he still wants to play, and he still wants to have fun. And Rob, you... You're showing up at the throne and you're tight. And so, what would you do with your son if he showed up like that?
Like, come on, loosen up, Robby. And God's going to do that. And it's the most remarkable thing. Yeah, holy nookies. That's it.
Yeah. No, you're exactly right. That you would do that with your child or someone you love, you would try to. dig in somehow and get them out of that place. Right, to g get them into a place of authenticity that they may not really see that they're they're they're not they're not showing at the time.
But we've got just a couple more minutes in this segment. Is there anything you'd like to leave with people before we go to the after hours? And do that. If you don't know what the after hours is that you have a heard, you'd have to go to our podcast location to get that, which is any podlas podcast location or masculinejourney.org. That's a great place to get it there because all of our podcasts are there as well.
But anything you want to leave with him on the posing? The one thing I would add, the one thing that posing keeps you from doing. If God put you in this place uniquely as you, to be you in this world, to show this world a peace of Him that only you bring. Right. That's what we believe to be true.
They were all made in God's image uniquely, in his image, and something specifically he had designed with you in mind when he put you on this earth to bring to this world to show them a vision of him. Right? And if I'm not authentic, how are they going to see the true me? I mean, it goes back to that scripture about. Are you gonna hide your light with a bushel?
Right. That's what you're doing with that. I just had Sitting there thinking about that. That is a form of posing. Yes.
Of your being afraid. A push mask. Being afraid of the glory that God's put on you. That's it. We do.
We digress.
So is that hat or mask? No, that must be a sound mask.
So, from McGuire's A Masculine Journey, I'm Keith. We'll see you down the road.
