No way. Usable reaction from V in the feed. Quote: The fact that Jalen Hurts played, you cannot question his heart.

However, you can question his lungs. That's actually pretty tame for V. That broke. Wait, did that break the chat slump? That is the first chat submission that I've read on the air since Wednesday of last week.

Why? It's been so long, I forgot. We did it! Gary writes: Miles Garrett is probably thinking, "Why'd I leave?" I don't know if he is or isn't. But I'll bet you anything, Aaron Donald is thinking, "Why did I come out of retirement?

I came out of retirement for two and four a team, and now I've got to wait five extra years to go into the Hall of Fame." Again, not saying they're DOA. Am saying historically and statistically, teams that start off the way the Rams are have do not make the Super Bowl. Damn, they're in last in the division. They're looking up at Arizona. They're in last.

Who saw that coming? I understand anything can happen in the NFL, and I'm not saying they were a lock or a guarantee to win it all, but I did not expect them to be where they are six weeks in. All right, let's go to the phones. We go to San Diego, John. Good to have you on, John.

How are you? I'm very good, Jim. How are you doing today? Great, dude. Great.

Hey, so I might not be a doctor, but I am a person that lives with blood clots, so I kind of have a basic understanding of this Jalen Hurts situation, as well as being a Philly fan, if you don't mind.

So, first, if you're wondering why he didn't sleep, it's all—it's not just that he didn't sleep. He had to stay still. I've been in the hospital with blood clots in your lungs, and you can't even move. They set these bed alarms so sensitive that if you, because if you move just a just one way or the other, something could happen. And I am really upset with this with the Philly medical staff.

I've always been, I've always had an objection to the teams hiring doctors, and now you know why. I've always felt personally that doctors should be hired by the NFL and then assigned to teams because these teams are looking out for what the team needs because they're the ones writing their check.

Okay, and and that's why this whole thing is is a mess. Jalen just got caught up in in other people's stuff. I mean. If you've been watching sports, people, you know a player is always, always, always gonna want to play.

Somebody has to be able to step into that, step in front of this guy and say, "You are not playing." That somebody should have stepped in and said, "You're not getting on the plane that you're on." He had no business even being on that plane, which I can tell you more than likely exacerbated the situation.

Now. I have something different. I deal with a genetic thing that causes mine. More than likely, they might be doing some blood tests for things like that. But if, like for me, if I was Jalen, you got your ring, you got your bag, you got a family, you're 28.

Football's not worth all this, bro. And I'm speaking as an Eagles fan, and I've been a fan of Jalen since Alabama.

So. You know that's that's what I gotta say on this. I really hope people are listening. And we in Hollywood, shut up, dude. This is somebody's wife.

It ain't a it ain't a punchline.

Okay. All right. Get a grip. That's all I got for you today, Jeff. All right, John.

Appreciate you. Thank you. All right, so that's somebody saying ideal blood clots, and I'm an Eagles fan, and this is my take on that. And stop turning into a punchline. First of all, clones will clone.

Clones turn everything into a punch a punchline, so that should not surprise you, John. You know the show. In terms of team doctors, he said, "What are the team doctors doing?" Listen, this also was not breaking news. Team doctors, in and of themselves, are a conflict of interest. They're paid.

The orthopedics are paid by the team. Obviously, they're going to want to get the players back on the field.

Now, I don't know exactly what happened here. I'm not going to sit here and act like I have medical knowledge in this situation, but I will say this: This has long been an issue in the NFL. These are not independent doctors that are advising the players and the teams. They're paid by the teams, and what does that do for them? It's great for their business.

It's great for their brand. It's great for them to say, "I am the team physician or the team orthopedic for this NBA team or this NFL team." Of course, they're going to want to get the players back on the field. Then, of course, the players are going to want to get back on the field as quickly as they possibly can. Especially if you're a QB one, especially if you're a face of the franchise, especially if you're a Super Bowl MVP. All right, I don't know exactly what happened.

It just strikes me as especially odd that they had him in the hospital the night before a game, and not because he was dehydrated, and they hooked him up with a few IVs. Not that we see that all the time. But they had him in the hospital the night before a game and said it's not safe to sleep. It's not safe to sleep, but it's safe to get lit up on an NFL field the day after, and get on a plane, and make a transatlantic transatlantic Atlantic flight, and then play and just start practicing again. Like what am I missing here?

Oh, and what do you know? That superficial blood clot. In his calf, actually turned out to be more than that, and traveled into his lungs. And now his season is over, and nobody's accountable for that. Nobody's responsible for that.

That's just a freak of nature. That's a fluke. That's inexplicable. That'll happen. I don't know.

Seems very sus to me. Seems very sketchy to me. And I don't want to hear. That's a tough dude.

Now you want to be out there. They all want to be out there. They're not like the rest of us. They're used to playing through things. That's why you need somebody to say you can't be out there.

No, no, Doc. I feel pretty good. I want to go out there. Here's the thing, Jalen. If you go out there, those blood clots they might travel into your lungs, and then you got a real problem.

Then you're out for the rest of the year, and then you may have a bigger problem than even that. Man, it's it's all really weird, really weird. Let's go to San Antonio. Ken in SA.

Now. Incredibly enough, Canon S.A. is a doctor. And I did ask for a doctor, and I said I need a doctor who can speak to the issue of blood clots.

Well, let's go to San Antonio. My man can. Can my brother? What's going on? Not much, buddy.

Hey, did you finally check out the jumping a ramp at the house when you went to Boulder this time? Come on, you you got to at least check it out once. I actually did not because believe me, they had every single minute of every single day that I was there planned out for me, and that was not part of the itinerary. I know I've been there. I've done.

I've done Parents Day. My daughter got her degree. Finally got her diploma, so I'm a proud CU dad. But yeah, let me talk about blood clots. You know, certainly the fact that he had a superficial or allegedly superficial clot in his leg should have been a red flag.

And screening for blood clots is super easy with ultrasound. We do it all the time. It's just a a quick 10-minute ultrasound exam to see if the veins in the lower extremity are compressible. It's really easy. We do it all the time.

And when I'm on call, I I see. Literally hundreds of ultrasounds just screening for clot, and there's symptoms: focal swelling. You can feel hundreds. You can feel a palpable thread.

Some color changes in the legs. But the but the diagnosis a pulmonary embolus. There's certainly got to be some symptoms, and he could certainly have been symptomatic if he had enough blood clots. It's easy to put what's called a pulse oximeter on the tip of your finger to determine your your oxygen level on room air, and you know if it's decreased, then you certainly run a risk. The fact that he had a Clot in his leg.

He probably was symptomatic. The diagnostic screening examination is a CT pulmonary embolus protocol, where they get inject contrast into your arm, and they do a timed bolus or timed imaging of your pulmonary arteries to see if there's filling defects. Ken, Ken, let me ask you this: what What did it mean? What did it mean that he was in the hospital the night before a game, and they said to him, "You can't sleep." Well, you know the weird thing is, some of these people who have these clots, it's like people they they have this feeling of impending doom, or they have some some vague chest pain, or they have a weird sensation that something's not right, and literally these clots can dislodge and and go to your lungs and cause. Immediate cardiac arrest.

If it's a significant clot burden, it it just basically cuts off all oxygen to your lungs, and you just become anoxic. You have, you know, you can have immediate death. And like I said, the CT scan is is a relatively easy examination. There are some risks, of course, when you give people contrast.

Some people are allergic. But why why why was he not allowed to sleep? Why was that a risk? I I can't explain that. I I can't explain that.

I can't explain why you would put someone who has a known thrombus on a transatlantic flight. That was my next question. What about putting him on a plane? How yeah? How big of a risk was that?

I mean, did you expect him to be like Russell Wilson and exercise the whole way across the Atlantic? I mean, that was that was a red flag. If you you know, they would have had what they should have done is. Kept him in Philly. Do a full press medical workup on him, because the fact that he has clots is not normal.

And like I said, I'm on call on weekend. I I see tons of these CAT scans that are positive. People they're from they're from people that have non completely occlusive thrombus in their pulmonary arteries, maybe in a small branch of the of the lungs that's not really symptomatic.

Some of these people have the largest called a saddle embolus, which is it basically blocks your right and left pulmonary arteries because it's sitting like a saddle on the on where the arteries are.

So, so again, what what does this mean going forward?

Now that he's got multiple clots and they're in his lungs. What does that mean going forward?

Well, going forward, you know, it means if he can. Have the clots completely resolved, and then and that his lungs are actually clear. If some people have to live on a on his small maintenance dose of anticoagulation or blood thinners, and of course, if he's on that, he can't play football. Is out of the question, right? You know, you can't play football.

So the prognosis is going to be how well he responds to treatment now, and if he can be completely free of any thrombus burden. Because if he has to go on a maintenance dose of blood thinners, then basically his his His football career is over. You know, Wimby had a thrombus here in San Antonio. I don't think he had a blood clot, but I don't think he had a pulmonary embolus. But he had a maintenance dose of blood thinners, and eventually got off of that and was able to play.

So there is hope that he can eventually come back. Yeah, but even Wimby, Wimby even admitted, I was terrified. I was terrified when I found out what I was dealing with, and I just have a hard time believing that Jalen Hurts did not know what he was dealing with. I mean, is it possible that Hey, how is it possible that the Philadelphia Eagle medical personnel did not know what they were dealing with? Yeah, you know, from the outside, the right move was he has a thrombus, sit him out a week, give him a full court workup, make sure he's clear, and and then go from there, decision a week later.

But yeah, he shouldn't he shouldn't ever been on the airplane. All right, Ken, nice job, appreciate you. See you at Super Bowl, Ken. I asked for a doctor. I got a doctor.

All right. So what he said point blank was: even if it was a superficial clot, they should have never put him on an airplane. They should have run a full scan, a full set of tests, waited a week, and then see how that played out, and then go from there. One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. And interestingly enough, he could not answer the question as to why they would not let him sleep.

But but the key point he and I both made in that part of that conversation, if you're on blood thinners the way he is right now, you cannot play a contact sport. You cannot play football. And of course, he's on blood thinners because he has blood clots and they're in his lungs. He also said if they put you on a maintenance lower dosage, you still can't play. All right.

So, your reaction to it when we come back, Kalani Sitake, BYU head football coach, BYU coming off an enormous win over Notre Dame. Man, what a night in Provo that was! We will talk about that next. And if you want to weigh in on what we just talked about, we will do that too.

Great to have you here. All right, if you're on hold, stay there. More telephone calls coming up. But we are joined right now by the head coach. Head football coach at BYU.

He is in his eleventh year at his alma mater. BYU is coming off an enormous win over number two Notre Dame, twenty eight twenty four. BYU is five and zero. They're two and zero in Big Twelve play. They moved up six spots to number two in the AP poll.

They're going to take on UCF on Saturday. Of course, I'm talking about Kalani Sitake. Kalani, my friend, always good to see you. How you doing, my man? What's going on, bro?

How you doing? Good, good. Cloney, listen. I know how demanding a coach's schedule is, so I try to pick my spots. But even though you and I spoke three weeks ago, I had to try to run you down after such a monumental win over Notre Dame.

Now you've had some incredible moments in your football life. Where would you rank this win over Notre Dame? Oh yeah, this is. I mean, this was huge, and and. It was so nice to be able to share it with the fans and have them storm the field.

I mean, I I would rather have handled the game earlier, but the drama behind it all was nice. And I mean, I remember being, you know, young young young boy when when. The Tide Demer beat Miami and number one ranked team in the country at that time. I was right here in in the stadium and I stormed the field too back then.

So that was a great memory for me, and I'm glad that you know our fans got that same type of memory this past weekend. All right. So the fans got that memory. You used to be a fan yourself coming up, but you also played there and you've been a coach there.

So how did this moment compare to all those other moments? Yeah, I mean this is this is way up there because I mean I. I'm still a fan first, you know. I just happen to be a guy that played for BYU for the legend Lavelle Edwards, and I and I happen to be the head football coach. And so, there's times that I have to actually separate the fan from the coach, and I don't know if I do that well enough.

I mean, maybe the Maybe the fake punt was a little bit more of a fan than than the coaching part, but I'm gonna try to get better and learn from that and see if I see if I don't make those those crazy mistakes again. BYU head football coach Kalani Sitaki joining us, Kalani, how badly did your guys want this opportunity? For instance, how badly did they want to make the statement that not only do we play in these games, but we win these games? I think for everyone, including our players, we just really wanted to see improvement, and especially from last year to this year, we have a bunch of guys that came back that could be on NFL rosters right now, and they decided to forego their NFL career. I mean, they have they they they already have their their degree in hand, and they decided to come back for a reason, and they want.

And this is a major part of that. They saw the opportunities in the schedule and the type of team that we could have, and you know, it's been nice for me. I get to enjoy their leadership and just kind of let them go and give them give them the autonomy to make decisions and whether that's on or off the field, it's been really for me it's been really nice and I'm just glad I have a bunch of veterans that can make plays and then I combine them with a bunch of young guys that that have tons of talent.

So we have a good deep team right now. We just got to keep progressing, get got to stay humble, stay hungry, and got to keep working, man, because work is going to be the key to all of it. Kalyn Sztak, you joining us, Kalyn? Speaking of leadership. And young players with talent.

When you and I last spoke, we talked about your quarterback Bear Bachmira, and you talked about his poise. You talked about his leadership on and off the field. Then the sophomore goes out and he accounts for four touchdowns on Saturday. How much did Bear elevate his play against the Fighting Irish?

Well, I mean, Bear's been amazing all year long, and he's been great since he showed up here on campus as a true freshman last year. You know, so I, I think in the time of his freshman year to now, he's grown so much in so many different ways, and he he is a seasoned vet now. And I get the coach that guy, and I mean, I don't know if I, I can claim anything that he's been. He was raised the right way with the with the ball in his hand, and we're just trying to give him chances to. Make plays, but I he's answered the call every time, and and you combine that with with all the players on our team and our O line and our our our receivers, and then you know we're down L.J.

Martin this game, and and you know so we we needed to replace the run game, and I was proud of the running backs that came into the game, including Bear, but the running backs that were able to fill in Preston Rex and and you know Journey Taula and Devonica, those guys are are very capable of making up the difference, but Bear is willing to put All on himself, he doesn't have to, and I was pleased that he's able to dish it out. But he, for some reason, he still find a way to make make a lot of touchdowns.

So many plays, so many plays. And to your point, Clancy, you need him in the running game. Also, one of his touchdowns came when he caught a touchdown pass from receiver Kyle Casper in the second quarter. I want to roll this in, and if I can get your thoughts on this sequence, can you take us through this play? This was really something.

Yeah, I mean, I think when you look at it, we kind of hid Legend Glasgow on the wing there, but and Legend said he was open, but you know the goal was to throw it back, get some little misdirection in there, and give listen. Bear can run. He can. He can do a lot of things. He can also catch the ball.

He's a great athlete, and so it just made sense that we can utilize him in this type of play. And we've done this before, but I'm just glad that it worked out, and glad that he was ready to do it. I mean, we practice it, and I think it was a good moment. I like the way A. Rod called.

I mean, our offense coordinator called at the right time, and I don't mind being aggressive. Great play call, great execution, great timing. You know, I get Clonie that the only ranking that matters is the one that's at the end of the season. I get that winning a Natty is the thing you want to win that last game. But considering you took down the number two team in the nation and it came down to the final play, did you think that you might be the top ranked team this week?

No, you know, honestly, I'm not worried about the rankings at all. Never, never cared about, worried about. I'm not say care. I know a lot of people put energy and effort into it, so I want to be respectful of the people that vote and and the people that that put the rankings out there. But my job as a coach isn't to just get ranked.

My job as a coach is to get these guys to play at their best and to do it 12 guaranteed times that we have that are available throughout the season, and then hopefully we can create more. And so if we do it the right way. I got to keep these guys focused on what we're trying to accomplish, and we've played. You know, we're halfway through the season, so we got another week to go. We got six more, but we got to focus week to week.

And if we can keep improving, keep developing, even throughout the season, I think we're going to be really happy with with the result. But at the same time, our focus has got to be razor sharp. And so, as a head coach, I know what everybody else is saying, but in this building, man, we we nobody here is is free from correction, including myself.

So. We want everyone to play better and get better and improve. And includes Bear Bachmeyer, includes everybody, and includes head coach BYU head coach Clonnie Stachy joins me for a few more moments. Clonnie, I mentioned that last play, so I want to ask you about that because there's been a lot discussion about that play. Given the contact between corner Evan Johnson and Jane Greathouse in the end zone, from your perspective, what did you see on that play?

I thought the ball was thrown a little bit in, and you know. I mean, they're they're both. It would be something different if if our DB wasn't looking back at the ball. I'm not a ref. I don't get paid to do all that.

That's what those guys do. It you know we there's been a lot of man coverage in this game, and they they did same thing with with our receivers. And so I think it was one of those, you know, no calls. I thought was a good good no call. I mean that's.

You could look at some of the. There was another one with Evan Johnson, earlier where where where our DB was. I'm not sure, but yeah, our DBs were were in hand-to-hand combat with with their wide receiver. Just sometimes the refs see it a different way. I can't see their perspective, and honestly, from my Point of view.

I'm not even. I don't have the best view. I'm on the other side of the field, but the game of football comes down to a lot of things. It's accumulation of all those plays. That that you know.

We if if you're asking me as a coach, where can we have improved on? It's like we we had a lead. It was, you know, to Notre Dame's credit, they were able to come back and get the lead back, and and then we respond by getting it back again on another drive, and had to find a way to get out of this this drive. And you look at C.J. Carr and his abilities.

I mean, that receiving core, that offense, they're dangerous.

So, so Marcus Freeman has a has a complete team. We were able to make a couple plays more than them, and one play right here that we made more than them, and. And it worked out in our favor, but if you look throughout it, there's there's a lot of things that we could have done better, and I'm sure Notre Dame's saying the same thing. They had a fumble in the red zone, and so that's the game of football. You know, it can't be one thing that just won or lost you the game.

It's a combination of all of it. Client, listen, you you were very elaborate in that answer. I appreciate that. I'm going to ask you one thing. You number one, it's it's out of your control.

You're not the official. I get that. Number two, to your point, you had a different vantage point because. You were over here when you had a chance to look at it on film after the fact. Do you feel like the officials got that one right?

Yeah, I mean, but if you want to ask me all all the plays, I can give you an opinion on all of that stuff. I, I've honestly, by the time everybody was looking at everything, I've already moved on to UCF. My job is to stay on on on on path of what we're trying to head and what we're trying to get done. I mean, I can't look into. Into you know these these hypotheticals.

All right. So what about UCF? You moved on there. What are your early thoughts about facing UCF in Orlando on Saturday? And what are you looking for from your team this week?

Well, Scott Frost is a great coach. I mean, he's he's got a great offensive mind, and so you know he's had success at UCF before. And I know he's going to have their guys ready. They're coming off a bye week, and so I mean, look at college football last weekend. You know, including our game, it's something that you can't predict, and so anything can go.

And there's a lot of parity in football now in college football, and so anybody can play. I mean, you have to respect your opponents. You have to respect the game. If not. It'll come back and it'll get you.

And so we, we need to stay humble, keep working hard, and we have tons of respect for you.

So you have to have tons of athletes. They're very capable of doing some damage, and we've been in some tight games with them before.

So we're expecting their best shot. We have to make sure our best shot shows up as well. I'm not sure there's ever been a weekend like the one we just had in college football. Cedar Point, BYU is five and zero. They're two and one Big Twelve play.

They move up six spots to number two.

Next challenge for them is UCF. Kalani Sitaki joining us. Clonnie, as I mentioned, I try to pick my spots, and I know we spoke about three weeks ago, but that was such an enormous win and such an enormous night in Provo. I wanted to run you down. Thank you very much for making time, Clonnie.

Always happy to be on here with you, Jim. Thank you. Appreciate you, my man, Clonnie Sataki, joining us. All right, talking about that big win over Notre Dame. Going into that game, there was a lot of talk about how big a game that was for Notre Dame because they were playing a very good team on a schedule that is frankly not very good.

So Notre Dame needed that one, and BYU was ready.

So if you want to talk about the end of that game and the way that game ended, if you want to talk about any other games, so be it. Fact of the matter is, BYU survives. They advance. They make enough plays. They're five and zero.

They're two and zero. They're ranked second. Second nationally, and there were some other big time games and big time teams that went down. Wild, wild weekend of college ball. All right, one eight hundred six three six eight six eight six.

If you want to talk about any of that, go ahead and do so. If you want to hit me up on the X, you can do that. If you want to hit me up on chat, oh hey, chat! Welcome back, chat. You made it back in.

Had not heard from you, chat, since last Wednesday. Of all people to break the streak, V in the fee, with something for him that was fairly responsible.

So, clones, one quick question. Why is Old Trapper beef jerky so good? There is something to be said for a family business which stands by quality and produces the world's finest beef jerky. Do not be fooled by other brands; all beef jerky is not the same. Make sure you choose Old Trapper, where you can actually see the quality right through their iconic clear view packages.

Because every bite of Old Trapper is tender, never tough, because they use only the best ingredients from their lean strips of beef, seasoned with top quality spices, to their Real wood-fired smoke. Old Trapper delivers quality in every single bite, and it comes in four incredible flavors. They're all great. Myself, I bounce back and forth because I like them all equally.

Now, if you haven't tried it yet, they know that too. They know that in the sense that they have four-ounce bags. That way you can try each and every one of them and decide which one you like best. Then once you do that, you can load up with the eighteen ounce bag. If you don't see it, as for Trapper by name, because no other jerky compares.

Oh Trapper, what's your beef? You're listening to the Jim Rome Show. The mighty dollar. Once upon a time, it had a whole menu named after it.

So BYU with one of their biggest wins ever, as Kalani said. He remembers storming the field as a fan growing up, and then of course he played fullback at BYU, and he's coached there for a number of years.

So he has seen pretty much everything, experienced pretty much everything, and said that's about as good as it gets. BYU fan, BYU fan has always been really active in engaging with this show. What is your reaction? What you saw over the weekend? What is your reaction?

What you just heard? You know, we also hear from Utah Utes fans. I got to admit, I was a little surprised when I went to the CU Utah game over the weekend. I was surprised I didn't see more Utah fans. I thought for sure they would travel deep, and I was surprised, frankly, by how many Buffs fans I saw.

And that turned out to be a hell of a game, and it didn't start off that way. It seemed like it was going to be the blowout that we all expected, and then Colorado came out a totally different team in the second half.

So I was surprised not see more Ute fans. Time to answer—not time to answer—but I want to remind you about the ATP. So, going back to another topic, an original topic. Topic at Jaylen hurts, and again, I'm not a doctor. And I'm not exactly sure how this went down. I know this much. I'm not a doctor, but I don't need to be a doctor to know the optics are not good at all.

We go from a guy who got cleded, who had a superficial clot in his calf, to somebody who gets on a transatlantic flight, spends the night in the hospital the day before the game, is told not to go to sleep, goes out. Plays, returns on the plane, picks up right where he left off, and practices, and now we find out he's out for the rest of the year because the clots, clots plural, have moved into his lungs. The hell is going on?

Well, if one guy can explain this, that one guy, of course, would be Nick Sirianni, the head coach of the Eagles.

So Nick Sirianni, moments ago, attempted to explain it to the media when they asked exactly what happened. Nick, why was John Hurts allowed to fly home despite the team knowing that he had a blood clot? Again, again, I'm not a medical expert. Same same deal. There, we get medical information from our guys, and we always put the player's health first and foremost in every situation.

And you know, that's where we were there. Did you were you briefed by the medical team before you did this press conference on why he was permitted to fly despite the blood clot? Yeah, guys. Yeah, guys. I talked to the.

Can you give us the information? Yeah, guys. I talked to the guys. Hey, Jeff. As a spokes As a spokesman of the team, we're just hoping you give us some information for the public.

Thank you, guys. I've addressed this. I've talked to you guys about this again. The medical export experts are there, and I think I've answered this question multiple times. We put out a statement for you guys to hear.

Actually, Nick. Actually, Nick. It feels like you haven't answered the question, and the way the way that one media member cut you off, it's because he knew you were going to spit out the same exact answer, which was a non-answer prior to that. That's why he cut you off. And then that's why you jumped in with guys, guys, guys.

I think I've answered this question multiple times, which is why the media responded with, "Actually, Nick, we don't think you've answered it at all." Which is why we keep asking, "Why was he permitted to get on an airplane knowing what you knew?" And he said, "Well." The medical people decided that it was fine, and so we flew back. Oh, my favorite part of the non-answer was: we always have our players' health first and foremost, ahead of everything else on our minds. That's what we care about. We would never put them in a bad position. You put a guy on a plane that had blood clots.

Going out and coming back. How much did you know going out? Even if you don't have the full extent of it, and I don't know how you couldn't know. As Ken in San Antonio said, he's a doctor. If you have a blood clot, it's easy to scan for the extent of what you have.

But apparently, they were not concerned, not concerned.

So they put him on a transatlantic flight. But concerned enough that he was in the hospital the night before, and not allowed to go to sleep. What that means, I am still not sure. But it can't be good. You are not allowed to sleep before an NFL game when you have blood clots and you just made a flight, a transatlantic flight.

And then you're allowed to play in that game, and then you're allowed to fly back. What did you know after that game? See, Nick, these are the answers that people are looking for. We don't know. We're confused, and all you're saying is, "Well, the medical staff looked it over and cleared it." Okay, so do do you want one of the doctors to get up here and answer a few questions?

Because you sure as hell aren't. I don't know, like Nick. Why are you sending Nick up there to answer? Medical questions again. Again, Nick can barely answer football questions.

The hell is he doing answering medical questions? Yeah, guys, I talked to them. Can you give us the information? So, if you're going to say, well, the medical staff had the information and the medical staff cleared the quarterback, okay, why don't you bring one of the doctors up here to explain what it is, so we know it's all on the up and up and we know it's cool. And we know no mistakes were made, and we know why this was in fact the process, and we know why this guy was in the hospital the night before a game, and why he was allowed to play in that game after being told you can't sleep.

And you can explain how a localized, superficial blood clot that started in a calf somehow moved into his lungs, and why his season is over. It's actually more than a football issue, right? This story is getting enough traction that it's more than just a football story.

So, are we really going to trust Nick Sirianni to set the record straight and clarify and explain? No offense, Nick, you're about the last guy that I would think that would handle a situation like this. What are we going to rock, paper, scissors our way through it? If you're going to keep deferring to the medical staff, why is there not somebody from the medical staff to explain what happened to all of us? And before you say we don't deserve an explanation, the hell we don't.

Of course we do. Of course the fans do. Of course, folks want to know why that guy was allowed to get on a plane. Of course, folks want to know how those blood clots traveled, and how that guy played in that game, and what you knew before he played in that game, because now we know he's not going to play in any game anytime soon. Hi guys, I talked to the guys.

Hey, as a spokes, as a spokesman of the team, we're just hoping you give us some information for the public. That's it. Thank you. That's it. As a spokesman for the team, addressed this.

I've talked to you guys about this again. The no, you've talked to us about it, but you're not saying anything. You've talked. Don't confuse. You've talked to us about this with answering any questions about this.

Your Super Bowl MVP. Is out for the rest of the season, as a result of blood clots that went into his lungs. Pretty freaking serious. And all you have to say is, "Well." I spoke to our medical staff, and this is what they said. What did they say, guys?

I already told you. I spoke to the medical staff, and they said that well, it was fine. Again, again, again, again, again. What? Again, nothing.

What happened? How did that happen? Yeah, guys. I talked to them. Can you give the information?

You imagine. Being Philadelphia and saying, "You know what? Send Nick out there. Nick will handle this. Nick's got this." Hey, you Jeff.

What Nick? Nick was better prepared intellectually to handle this than Howie. Howie's like, "I am not going out there." I don't know. Maybe you send somebody out there who can answer the question because he didn't answer the question. The only thing missing from that exchange was the question.

The question, jerk. That's why that media was so aggressive with him and cut him off because they knew that he was not going to answer the question. Guys, I've addressed this. Yeah, again, you've addressed it, but you haven't answered it. There is a difference.

Serious, and notice I'm not talking about the football aspect of it. I'm talking, and I'm not talking about the medical aspect. I'm flat out admitting I don't know about the medical aspect of it. I'm trying to get some answers here. Oh, I know Nick Sirianni will clarify everything.

Um, no, he did not. I still don't know. They sent Nick up there to clarify.

Well, that didn't work. Anybody else? One eight hundred six three six eight six eight six. Man, the Eagles were already struggling, weren't they? They were already pretty jacked up.

But I wouldn't expect an organization like that to handle something like that that badly. They already were having issues on the field, and now this. We get a phone call in. Let's go, North Carolina, Dave. Good to have you on the show, Dave.

How are you? What's up, Romeo? It's Carolina, Dave, and watching these Carolina Panthers. My man, I am sorry. You don't.

I can't sell this.

Sorry, dude. You probably had some good energy and a good good response, but you cannot self-gloss. I don't know if you're new. I don't know if you got caught up. If I go to you, let's go North Carolina, Dave.

How you doing? Hey, Romy, Caroline, Dave here.

Now you're done. No self-glossing. The show. I I don't know. Maybe your friends call you Caroline Dave.

Maybe your kids call you Caroline Dave. Maybe your boss. Maybe the entire world calls you Caroline Dave. Except us. No self-glossing.

There's almost no rules on this show. Have a take. Don't suck. Don't self-gloss. That's pretty much it.

If the show gives you a nickname, you can keep it. Don't tell us your nickname. It's just one of those things that it's always been that way.

So you're still Dave. You're Dave in North Carolina. You're not Carolina Dave, right? When we come back, we'll talk some NBA. Robin Lopez will join us, and if he self glosses, it's okay because he's a guest.

But get out in front of that. Stay tuned. The U.S.
