Did you ever wonder? Did you ever wonder?

I do. Did you ever wonder? Why the sun always rises, but the stars never fall?

Why dry land is never satisfied by water? And why fire never says enough? Well, today on Bible Wonders, we're going to wonder about saying yes to the belt. So I'm playing off the whole concept of saying yes to the dress because when Jesus comes into his kingdom, right, and we're going to the wedding supper, we're going to have on these wedding clothes, and we do get a chance to say yes to the dress.

As we've been talking about in Ephesians 6, specifically verse 14, the way that that reads, and we talked about yesterday, is stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth. And to girt about is a verb, right? Well, it's actually like getting dressed. And this idea of girting, you may have heard it, you know, throughout the Old Testament, girt up, girt up.

Well, it has this idea of essentially getting dressed. And so when you look at the word in Hebrew, it's absolutely spectacular because the first letter of the word girt is a hat and has to do so much with a word. It's a wedding, or a uniting of things that brings life.

That letter is a hat. And the second letter is a gimel, which represents greatness, or here's what would be the clothing of a very rich man, or as it is on our case, this is our wedding dress. I mean, this is the clothing that Jesus is talking about that you better have, you know, when you come to the wedding supper. And so this idea of girding is like putting on your wedding clothes. Well, of course, if you're going to go in prayers, we've talked about all week, and you want to come to the throne in the right clothes. And so you got to get girt up, you got to have on those wedding clothes that are so spotless, that are so rich.

And getting back to that word loins, it has everything to do with the word girding. It has everything to do with Christ's blood and baptism. And so we have to have essentially died to ourself in order to put on our wedding clothes. We have to have received Christ's blood in order for them to be white as snow. So come, let's reason together.

It's time to say yes to the belt. Do we have a render? I do. I do.
