A ministry called Jesus Labor of Love helps single women and others in need by providing cars and auto repair services. The ministry is based on the biblical principle of faith and love, as seen in Matthew 8:8, where a centurion asks Jesus to heal his servant without coming to his home. The hosts of the Christian Car Guy show discuss the importance of generosity and faith in helping those in need, and encourage listeners to donate cars or financially support the ministry.

This is the Truth Network. She's real fine, my four nine. She's real fine, my gold and my Oh. Welcome to the Christian Car Guy Radio Show. this calls for action and now.

Welcome to the Christian Car Guy. And no, I am not Robbie Dillmore. You're hearing a different voice. I'm Dwayne Carson, and I'm filling in, sitting in today for Robbie Dillmore. And it is a joy to have you join us.

Um as we dive in to the day's Christian Car Guy Show. We're going to be talking about Jesus' labor of love, and to set us up on that. Many of you may know me from the component of date the word. And so, with date the word today is 8-8 and You know, there's some great 8x8 verses. And the one that I'm going with today comes from Matthew 8, 8.

Where it says the centurion answered and said, to him, Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof, but only speak a word. And my servant will be healed. And the context is: this Roman centurion, a great leader in the Roman army, has a servant that is paralyzed and he's heartbroken over his servant. And he comes to Jesus, having heard that Jesus can heal. And he asks Jesus, Would you come and heal my servant?

And would you. Just speak a word that my servant will be healed. And Jesus said, I will come and heal him. And that's where this verse comes, where the centurion says, You know what? I can't have you come to my home.

I'm not worthy. And then he said, You just speak the word and he'll be healed.

Now, 8x8.

Some of you know what a 2x4 is.

Some of you know what a 4x4 is from a truck standpoint. My first truck was a 4x4. That was unique back then. And boy, I could go places where other people couldn't go because of being a four-wheel drive. But in the lumber world, in the building world, 8x8 is a solid piece of wood.

Now, this Centurion had a solid faith. Eight by eight. Boy, it was large and big. He believed Jesus could do the impossible. My goodness, he believed Jesus could just speak a word.

He didn't have to be in the presence of the servant, but he could just speak a word, and this servant would be healed of the impossible. He was paralyzed. But Jesus could heal him. That's what this centurion believed. But he also had humility.

He recognized the greatness of Jesus, and he goes, I'm not worthy that you would come into my presence, to come to my home. And I just love that about him. But he also had. Eight by eight love. Here's this centurion.

who was concerned about someone who could not do anything for themself, And his heart is broken, and he has eight by eight love. And so, today, I want to challenge you as we go into this show to think about having eight by eight humility. 8x8 faith, but more importantly today, 8x8 love. And the reason for that is because as we talk about Jesus' labor of love, It is a ministry that is looking to help, especially single ladies, widowed ladies. who need help with their car.

And I've got Bob Young here today. And hopefully, in a little bit, Scott Barton's going to be here. But as we talk about Jesus' labor of love, maybe you've got a story about how. Uh Jesus Labor of Love helped you 866-348-7884. And what we want to do today is raise some money.

To help Jesus labor of love so that they can get these cars, get them ready, and put them before. to these women who need help. And so, you're going to be hearing some stories, you're going to be hearing some appeals. I want us to be generous, and again. Uh-huh.

Showing love.

Sometimes it comes out of your pocketbook. You help somebody who can't help themselves with generosity, with a generous gift.

So, Bob, welcome to the show and tell us about some more about Jesus, Labor, of Love and any comments you want to make about what I just said. I want to just start out with this is so timely. I was really not scheduled to be here this morning, but I decided to pop in. And spend some time here. And just last weekend, my wife and I got to participate in a handicap.

Camp. up in Surrey County at Home Place Campground. And um forty years ago, this was the fortieth anniversary of this camp. And a friend of mine's father decided that something like this needed to happen, and he and a friend of his started this camp. 40 years ago.

1986. And we um Lori and I have been helping. This was our fourth year, and some of the folks there are mentally challenged, some of them are physically challenged. But they all have a love for God and uh just to be a part of that was just completely awesome. You get to see people's faith Um when Sometimes I think I'm having a bad day.

Yeah. And then I think about the guy that, um, His legs don't work at all. and yet he goes through his day And uh with some struggles, but he proceeds through his day. And uh It was just such a blessing to be a part of that, and we're so grateful to the Simpson family for uh Including us in that. And every year I go, it's just been such a blessing.

We have a. church service on Sunday morning and um That is always just completely awesome. But when you're talking about, you know, as soon as you mention f uh The soldiers Um server that Needed healing.

Well, there's a lot of need for healing. There's not a physical. emotional And there's just so much healing that needs to be done. I need a little healing. I don't think there's any of us that don't need a little healing.

But to be a part of Jesus' labor of love when Robbie came to Jerry and I, Jerry Mathis, our Christian body shop guy. When he came Robbie came to us and brought this idea to us, we were just like This is pretty large. This is pretty large, but it wasn't too large for God. And Robbie has a faith that just soars like an eagle. And uh We've been able to help so many people.

And uh all of the dono all of the donation money. goes to help these people. There's not administrative calls. There's not anything. There's all of it goes straight to the people in need.

And we've been able to help so many people through the years. And when Scott Barton came on with us, it was such a awesome addition to the to the group. And um I just uh So grateful to be a part of that. when I had the junkyard I was able to, you know, like donate a transmission or donate a part or whatever part they needed, but I've retired now and I no longer have that ability, but you know, what we all can do. is donate money.

And uh or if you have a vehicle in your yard uh that's no longer running. or one that is running. We have gifted uh, whole vehicles to some people and and uh specific cases And uh it's just really, really, really been an awesome thing. But and if you th you got one around or you know somebody that's got a car that's not running just right.

Sometimes we're able to take a vehicle that's imperfect and give it a little healing And uh uh purpose it to help somebody.

So there's a number of ways that you can participate in this Jesus labor of love. Um Uh First off, right off the bat again, just by giving a financial gift. And um If I understand, they can go to the Christian car guy. where they will find the website for Jesus Labor of Love. And there they can make a donation.

Through online. Um but Again, for you who are Usually listening to this show, you know. If you've got a car out there just sitting there, and I love what Bob said, it may not be running. They know how to get the parts so that it will be running. And if it's if it's unsavable, you know, if it's a car that we can't get fixed, We can still sell it for salvage value.

Right. And, you know, that's what I did for years. And. It was always a blessing to be able to, you know. Go ahead and jump in there and get the car and send the money to the great cause.

There you go, Mark.

Well, we're going to go to a break and then we'll be right back with you. This is the Christian Car Guy, and today we're talking about Jesus' labor of love, and we want to hear your stories. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Yeah. Welcome back to the Christian Car Guys show.

I'm not Robbie Dillmore. I'm Dwayne Carson today, sitting in for him. And I've got Bob Young here with me. And now I've got Scott Barton with me, Jesus, labor of love. And Scott, bringing you up to speed.

We've been talking about how in Matthew 8, 8, days 8, 8, so it's an 8-8 day, 8x8. There was a man that was just heartbroken. Not over his situation, but over a servant's situation. The man was paralyzed and he said, I've heard stories about Jesus being able to heal. And so he went to see Jesus and said, I need you to heal my servant.

And Jesus was like, well, yeah, I'd be glad to come. And he said, no, no, no, no. I'm not worthy that you would come under my roof. Just speak the word. And this man had incredible faith, so much faith, Jesus said, I have never seen such great faith in my life.

And the faith, though, that he had was based on his love for his servant. And as I think about Jesus, Labor of Love, as I've journeyed with you guys for a couple of years now, you guys have that. Eight by eight love for people. You want to help them get what they don't have so they can do the things that they need to be doing. Not just want to do, but need to be doing.

And having a car, being able to get to places, get to work, go grocery shopping, get to a doctor.

So today we're challenging our listeners to have eight by eight. Love. And be generous to help Jesus labor of love. Scott, welcome to the show. You might want to say a few words, but then I want you to tell our listeners how they can be giving.

To your ministry.

Okay, thank you so much for that introduction. I'm just humbled to be here and it's just a blessing. to be a vessel, to be a a conduit. Um I don't really have any real resources of my own other than my heart and my time. And Every day I hear these heartbreaking stories of these people that are doing their best.

I just spoke with. Three this week. One lady. Yeah. She just needed a battery.

You just needed a battery. And we worked really hard because it was a special type of battery. And the next day. I couldn't get back to her that day. I tried to find the right battery.

The next day I prayed and prayed, and I sat in my driveway as I got home from work, and I called her. And I told her, I said, I we're working on it, we're we found the battery and she said, Guess what? She said, My cousin loaned me the money. I found this particular battery. It was a special, expensive battery.

$50 and I also have a Java interview tomorrow morning. And I haven't spoken to her since. Um But we prayed and I just cried right there in my driveway. Because I was so worried about her. And these are just some of the stories that I hear every day.

Some people living in their car. Um, I think this particular person was living in a shelter. And no, I I hear so many people that have special need children, they're just doing the best they can and Sometimes we're not able to help them because their needs are too excessive, it's uh maybe a transmission or something. But they are so grateful that I called up and listened to them and prayed with them. And um I put 'em sometimes I put 'em on the car donation list, which is not an immediate fix.

We never know when we're gonna get a car. But just to be a part of this is humbling.

So, for those out there that are listening. and you do have some resources or you want to be a part of something, like Bob said earlier, one hundred percent of what we get goes to help people. We don't have any middleman costs. Of course, Okay. Those of us that are involved, it's just our time.

We have one. um bookkeeper, Bob's lovely wife Laurie, that Takes care of all the odds and ends of my noosha that I don't even know about.

So she works 100% for free. I do it for free. For free.

So anything that we get, whether it's an old car that's not running that we can use for resources, we can. Send that to the smasher, or we can a lot of times fix them up, put some good tires on them, make sure the brakes. are working and We always make sure, of course, they have to pass inspection.

So If there's anybody out here... That has any resources that they would like to contribute, or if they do have an old car or something that's running. Um What better way to bless somebody within your own community?

So thank you so much for those out there that are listening. Yeah and When we think about Jesus' labor of love. Um That first thought for me has always been that you are looking for a car to be donated. And you're looking to donate a car to someone, and they can contact you through the Christian Car Guy website, Jesus Labor of Love, ask for assistance.

So this show carries both sides of the coin. But as I'm listening to you and Bob today. It's more than just a car. What we just heard is here's a lady that called in. needed a battery.

So that's something else you guys do. You provide help with keeping a car running. Yes. Auto repair and and, you know, just assistance, helping people get their car back on the road. And so some of the finances would go to pay for a battery.

So you're not paying for a car. Or a complete repair of a car, but you are paying, you guys use that money to help keep someone's car going. And I don't know about. you guys as listeners, but When a vehicle doesn't work for me. Oh my goodness.

I'm tempted. I got to resist temptation. I want that thing working. I need to be somewhere. And the fact that Jesus' labor of love is here for someone who I've got to get for a job interview.

How do I get there? Um, and my car's not running, and so again, we want to encourage you today to. Mm-hmm. Make a generous donation to this great ministry. And Scott, you might make an appeal right now to some of our listeners who have been helped by Jesus' labor of love.

We would love to hear from them when we come back from the break. We would love to hear their stories. Please do if you're listening out there and you'd like to call in and just tell your story or what you're going through, your testimony. We'd love to hear it. 866-348-7884.

That's the number. 866-348-7884. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Welcome back to the Christian Car guys. We are so glad you have joined us today.

We are talking about Jesus' labor of love.

Now, that's a ministry, and Scott Barton hits that ministry up. It's helping. primarily single women. But not always. Not always.

But primarily to say, hey, we can get cars for you.

So they look for cars to be donated. You've got an old car sitting around and it's just sitting there. It may not even be running. You can call them. They will come get it.

They'll get it back to running because they know how to repair these things. And then they'll fix it up and put it into the hands of someone who needs it. And as well, you may be the one in need of something right now. We want you to. Go to The Christian Car Guy website, Jesus Labor of Love is right there.

And you can let them know about the assistance you need.

Now, we've been asking you to call 866-348-7884. And we have a caller from Chesapeake. And I want to see if I'm saying this right. I believe it's R-E-A-D-A-H Rita. There's R I T A.

Oh, okay.

Well, welcome to the show. How can we help you this morning? I just wanted I'm I'm a Christian. I've been a Christian ever since I was 16. Full of the Spirit of God in the Word.

I love the Lord so much. I'm going through some things, but I have two handicapped children. And I wanted if y'all would pray with me. I have a husband, but he's not where he needs to be, and I'm on my own, and I'm almost eighty. And I know God's fair, but it gets rough.

It gets rough 'cause I have to travel a lot.

So I would appreciate prayer 'cause I know what it's like to see people hurting. I have a love for them. But I need prayer for My children, they're totally handicapped and um it's rough.

Well, Bob, you were just at a handicap camp. And would you pray right now for this wonderful fit lady and her family? Lord, we ask you. to uh reach out. Touch.

And heal all the needs in this lady's life. She has so many needs and you can handle them all with just the slightest uh effort. Yeah. And we thank you for her faith. to get on the phone and call us this morning.

And to make her needs known. And we just ask that everybody out here. would jump in and pray for this lady. And thank you. Thank you, Lord.

And Lord, just heal her needs and give her what she needs to get to the next stage. And I need strength, Father. Yes, Lord, give her strength. Please give her strength. Yes.

In Jesus' name. And the wisdom to walk through this. Thank you, Lord. I love you, Lord. I will share her burdens with others within her family, community, and church.

Yeah, and they say in Galatians 6.2 that we must help shoulder one another's burdens.

So, Lord, thank you that you're going to be meeting readers' needs, and thank you for her love for her children. And we pray for others to come alongside and lift up her arms. We pray this in Christ's name. Amen. Amen.

Thank you. Thank you so much. I feel better now. Thank you. And God bless your work.

And yeah. And y'all be blessed. And I'll call my donation in this week. I'm fixing on travel again with my children. Thank you so much.

What are their names? Love y'all. What are your children's names? Angie? Angie is my daughter.

She's fifty-four. She's had thirty-five surgeries. And I have a granddaughter that has spine problems and we're going to Charlottesville, Virginia for three days for all kinds of testing. And what was the granddaughter's name? Her name was Destiny.

So, Angie and Stephanie. We certainly will. I would appreciate that. Thank you so much. Destiny.

She's precious. Yeah, she's precious. Yeah. I appreciate that so much. They need a touch from God.

They're blessed to have you, Rita. Thank you. Thank you so much. And thank you for being out there for everybody. Thank you.

And thank you for calling. What an amazing display. Have a blessed day. You too. I will.

Thank you. Bye-bye.

Now, others of you can call in 866-348-7884. I would love to hear from some of you that have been helped by Jesus' labor of love. What your story may be, and how others can then join. uh this ministry by prayer finances, um donations, um We want to hear from you 866-348-7884. And I'll tell you.

Yeah. to get some of you to call, I may need to ask some of you to call in and tell do you know what BR five four nine is because this morning Bob came in and he said BR five four nine and Nick, our wonderful producer, didn't have a clue.

So if you know what BR549 is, you give a call and I will send you my date, the word daily devotional as a gift to you. First one to call in.

Now, we have Scott. from North Carolina and Scott has had an experience with Jesus Labor of love. Scott, welcome to the Christian Car Guy Show. Lou, first of all. God is good.

Amen to that. All the time. Yes. Uh Bear with me. That lady touched my heart.

Yeah. What a lovely lady. Uh to the point where I almost feel like my My situation It's far more insignificant after listening to her. Mm-hmm. I'll share something with you.

Um My fifteen-year-old cat passed away on Thursday. That's tough. significant to some folks, but to me it was. And I ask As God gives me strength. Because he'd been my sidekick for 15 years.

Yeah. Alright, so I was good. I asked for strength and Give me peace.

So last night I go to sleep about eight thirty. And I have a dream. And in my dream Mm-hmm. I am on a sandy beach. And I don't know if it's the lake or the beach, but I know it's sandy.

And I'm with someone. Thank you. And I don't know who he is.

Well, we're about 10 feet from the edge of the water, and the ripples of the edge of the water begin to change. I asked my friend, I said, Do you see this? And he says, Yes, I do see this. And at that very second, I began to see footprints walking out of the water towards me. And I'm uh I'm about ten foot from it and That's the footprints get closer, I feel arms wrap around my body, And I begin to fall backwards.

but not in a violent way. It was like I was gently laid down. And I told my friend, I said, it's Jesus. And as I'm falling down, the light begins to fade away. And at the exact second, my other cat licks my face and I wake up.

Wow. That's amazing you tell this today. We have two different dear people in our lives. Mm. Uh a couple from the lake that have been friends of ours, they lost their pet.

Uh it was a dog. And he had been part of the family for 15 years and it had a really adverse effect on them, but they had to make the decision to that he had suffered long enough and put an end to his suffering. And uh our oldest son, um Had the same situation with a cat yesterday. And it's just amazing you call in with this story today.

Now, Scott, thank you for your call. And that story, again, God's just letting you know he's got you. You know, the scriptures are so clear about how God cares for us. Cast your burdens upon the Lord.

Well, he adds that statement. For He cares for you. And um Thank you for sharing that. I hope this encourages other listeners right now to know whatever you're going through. And we go through all types of loss, and when you've had a cat or a dog 15 years, they do, they become like a family member.

I I I feel for you, sir. And we ask God to keep giving you grace. Good idea for you. A small prayer from you guys? Yes, absolutely.

Father, right now we pray that you'll be with Scott. Leave this hurting heart right now. You come near the brokenhearted. And thank you for the dream that you gave him, that just gave him assurance last night, you're right there with him. And uh Lord, wrap them up in your love.

We pray this in Christ's name. Amen. Amen. Thank you so much. Yes, yes.

And we'd love to hear your calls: 866-348-7884. We're going to a break. This is the Christian Car Guy. Come right back in just a couple moments with us. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

Yeah. Life is a highway, I will ride home. Life is a highway. Indeed, it is. Welcome back to the Christian Car Guy Show.

We're talking today with Scott Barton. Got this incredible ministry. Bob Young helps him. Jesus' labor of love, helping people with their cars and and before Between the break here, during the break, Scott was talking about how Difficult it is to not be able to help everyone who needs something. And sometimes that's because they just don't have the resources.

So we're, we're, I'm going to say the word we're begging you today, listeners. Uh, go to the Christian Car Guide, donate to Scott Barden's ministry, Jesus Labor of Love. Uh, whether it's ten dollars or a million dollars, I'm telling you, his money will be used to help people in need. Scott's got a heart like the centurion, he wants to help people who can't help themselves.

So, um, Please today give to Jesus Labor of Love. And we've been asking for people to call in for stories of how Jesus Labor of Love helped them or their car story. We've got Daryl. From Utah. And Daryl, welcome to the Christian Car Guy Show.

What's your story? Good morning, Daryl. Good morning. God bless you. And uh I prayed with that lady and uh I hope the best for her and that I kinda Woke me up a little bit and it reminded me that.

I had a Christian car guy when I lived in Rapid City. His name was Marv and he owned a shop. And he could have been rich as rich. But he kept helping people, and he helped me. I was a young kid back then, and.

And anyway, he helped me, but one time. I was driving a Jeep Kid Cherokee, and it just died on the road. And we lived a little ways out of town out at Rapid City, and it was cold. Anyway, so I walked back home and I called him and I said, Don't this guy? And he told me, Senior battery terminals.

How long has it been since you did that? And I was like, Well, Laura, that's not what it is. And he goes, Well Try it. And so I went back, I cleaned my battery terminals, and it started right up. Wow.

And sometimes we need to clean our battery terminals with God. Yep. And sometimes we got to do the preventive maintenance and and read every day and not be a slacker. Yeah, I've been a slacker for a while and I love your program and it really encourages me. Wow.

What a great story. And you reminded me of a time where. I was a campus pastor at Liberty and there was a young lady, her car had died on her and she's like, Pastor, I don't have a clue. I said, well, let's raise the hood and take a look.

Well, I raised the hood. And I don't know a whole lot about cars, but I knew one thing. As soon as I saw her battery, I go, give me a moment. I think if we clean your battery, just clean those things off. And just like that, that thing fired back up.

But it's like keeping our lives in tune. Yep. Yep, yep. And a lot of times those terminals will just come loose. Yes.

And if you just tighten them down, I've seen that.

Some things are complicated and cost you a lot, but some things are really simple, but you just need somebody to tell you those simple adjustments and you're right back on the road. Yep. Right. Right. Um, one more thing I want to say is also when I was a kid, I loved going to junkyards.

And back then you could climb up, big climb up three high. And there's the car that I needed to park off, the third one up. Yeah, they let you climb up there and take it off. And they'd weigh your toolbox when you went in so you couldn't steal parts. That's a good idea.

Did y'all do that? No, but that's a very good idea. For whatever reason, we'd look at the old cars and say, Oh, I wish I had one like that. You brought a smile to Bob's face right there, Daryl. Good memories.

Daryl, thank you for your call today. Thank you so much. God bless you, Daryl. Thank you. Thank you.

God bless. Bye-bye.

We've got Wendy from Cary, North Carolina. Wendy, welcome to our show. Good morning, Wendy. Good morning, guys. How are you today?

Doing great. It's a beautiful day in Car. Yeah, of course. I have a Volvo that you guys gave me, Volvo XP90. And um I'm a single mom.

over in the Raleigh Carey area, North Carolina. And our Volvo is running great. It has been a huge, huge blessing. We can throw all the stuff in the back of it and Um and take care of all the things that teenage boys want to do, you know every teenage boy.

So it's been such a blessing, and it's running really well. And I love the conversation you guys are having because there have been several times where.

something has broken on one of my vehicles and And I've just prayed and the Lord has provided A mechanic or a friend or somebody who knew actually, Scott has told me several pointers about from Christian Cargai, has told me several things, you know, check this or try that.

Sometimes the Lord provides that it's something that doesn't cost anything if you know what to look for. It's um I appreciate you guys for the car, but also for the knowledge and and just the wisdom that you you impart that God's given you. And thank you for calling in and letting everybody know. What a blessing you received. And thank you for all the people in your church and community that you give rise to.

and widows and stuff that you give rides to the airport and to their doctor's appointments and to get their medicine and and just what what a blessing you are to your own community and church, Wendy. Um I hope that Volvo runs for a long time, and I know you'll take good care of it. Mm-hmm. Thank you, me too. God's provided a lot of opportunity.

If you gave it to me, I can share, you know, and that's been a blessing to me, too. Yeah, that old statement: pay it forward. Yep, that's what Wendy does. Wendy, thank you for your call here today. What a testimony.

And I think you're conveying two things right now. One, if you're out there and you've got a need.

Something's going on with a car. You don't have a car. Christian CarGuide.com. You go to that website and then you're going to see Jesus Labor of Love. You click that on, and there's a place on there where you can request for assistance.

Right. And we want you to do that. I'm telling you, I'm looking at Scott Barton right now. I know his heart. He wants to help you.

Bob wants to help you.

So if you'll go there, they will be so glad to do whatever they can to help. But also, what you're saying today is somebody provided a car. that they were then able to provide for you and so you're out there right now you've got a car you can you can give it to the christ to the to the jesus labor of love fix they'll fix it up and put it in the hands of a person and then they'll be using it not just for the personal use but as wendy they'll be using it to help other people what a ministry um the jesus labor of love needs financial assistance so they can buy batteries and do oil changes things like that so please also go to that website you can donate right there on that website is that right scott that's absolutely right So, if you're not a real computer savvy, I'm not myself, but um If you got a cell phone. Like you said, you just go to Kristen Car Guy and it pops up, and then you scroll down. To Jesus' labor of love, and you can either give or you can request assistance.

It comes straight to me within. Three days, I will call you up usually a lot of times faster than that, and then we'll pray together and we'll talk about how we can help you. And if we're not able to, I'll be just frank and honest. But we try our best.

So thank you so much. And some people like the good old-fashioned way of just writing a check, and there's an address at that website. That's absolutely right there. Wendy, thank you for your call. You have a blessed day.

Thank you so much, Wendy. Thank you. And our show is coming. As our show comes to an end, we remind you: Jesus Christ needs to take the wheel. Give your life to him today.

Thank you so much for being a listener today. This has been the Christian Car Guy Show.
