The hosts discuss how disc brakes work and how they can be applied to mental health, specifically anxiety and depression, by taking thoughts captive and bringing them into obedience to Christ. They also talk about the importance of listening to the Holy Spirit and trusting in God's authority, rather than trying to control situations or push harder on the brake.

This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. Welcome to the Christian Car Guy Radio Show. For over 20 years, making Jesus King of the Rose. I have waited for you.

for 20 years. I say this calls for action and now nip it in the bud. Nip it. In the bud. You got to nip it in the bud.

Stop. Yeah. Yes, S-T-O-P, new word, IT. Fuck your brakes. Pump the brakes today on the Christian Car Guys Show.

The game changing disc brake. We're going to talk about that today out. Very st fun stuff. I have my good friend Jerry with me, who was here last week to fill in for me while I was at boot camp. And so fun.

Yes, and I'll I look forward at some point to hear I've heard a couple of the stories from boot camp, but it's Pretty cool be able to hear the stories of how God works in that group of men. It does. In fact, we're going to hear a little bit of one of them today, and the idea of, you know, disc breaks and the game-changing disc break, but then also how that applies to essentially, you know, how Christ helps us when our minds won't stop. And so we're going to get there in a minute. But first, Uh you know, we'd like to For years, we used to play Name That Noise, and so we're just going to get this out early.

And so, I thought we would play a little Name That Noise again. And so, the idea of this is: you know, if you can call in and win, we've got date the word calendars, we got all sorts of prizes from our Kingdom Pursuits prize vault that we would love to hand anybody that calls. If you want to give a shot at, it's time to play Name That Noise. It's time to play. Define that defect.

Highlight that hubbub. Name that noise. Yes, it is. All you have to do is dial 866-348. 78848-6634-TRUTH and name this noise.

Jerry looks puzzled. What do you think that noise may be? You call us 866-348-7884. Let's let him hear it one more time. It's a little tricky.

Eight, six, six. 3487884. You can try to name that noise. We're talking about pump the brakes in this way. This week.

I'm dying to hear your calls. And again, maybe you've got a situation where you tried to stop your mind from working and you were struggling with that particular. Stopping thing, we would love to hear how God pulled you out of that one. 866-348-7884.

So You know, it's a fascinating thing that disc brakes were actually invented. For those of us who remember the days of drum brakes, the struggles with drum brakes, drum brakes. Or That They faded. Like if they got overheated, they wouldn't work so much anymore. Or if water got in them, you might find yourself not being able to stop.

And so if you ever if you were like me and you grew up in New Mexico and you came down s a lot of mountain roads in your life, you learned you couldn't stay on the brakes very long and they would begin to fade. I mean, that was the real problem with Tom brakes. And and so the genius of disc brakes and why that is is pretty fascinating is that when you think about it, a disc brake sits on the outside and of course If you look at a wheel these days, behind the wheel, there you'll see a brake rotor, and it's on the outside, and you can see it on the outside. But if you remember in the old cars, you could never see. The rotor or where the brakes were in the car.

That just seemed to be part of whatever was inside of that. And so, as a result, the heat. And the moisture stayed inside. It's not all that difficult to think through that. The genius of disc brakes was by moving that rotor On the outside, it could dissipate the heat.

In fact, you'll often see fans in the rotors if you look closely just to help blow the air through the rotor to cool it off. And obviously, it's throwing the water off as it's spinning because it's out there in the open. And in in Fascinatingly, originally, They were invented in like 1902, but they didn't use them because they didn't have the materials to create brake pads that we later developed, right, that we use today. And so actually a man by the name of Lancaster patented it in 1902, but they didn't use them essentially until 1953, two years before I was born. The Jaguar C-type.

Yeah. used these disc breaks and it won the 24 hours of Le Mans. Which Like And why did it win? it had better brakes, right? Because a big part of racing is control.

And you try to find a race car today, it doesn't have disbrakes, you won't find it. Not a lot of people use control brakes out there today because it's just the way it works.

So soon afterwards, right, they started showing up all over the place.

Well, using some of that technology is what I think Paul was trying to explain in 2 Corinthians 10, verse 5. But first, we got David is in Winston-Salem. He wants to name that noise. David, you're on the Christian Car Guy Show. Good morning.

Good morning. I hope everybody's doing well. I am. I am. I'm excited for your answer.

Absolutely. I want to hear what it is for sure. It sounds. There's a little bit of a squeak in there, but. It sounds like Oh, my dog's barking.

It sounds like a fan belt or or a belt on a pulley. Turn it.

Now, you are absolutely right that it's something turning. And as I've said before many times, There might be a a belt in the background that you're hearing, but the main noise I was looking for might be a little bit something different. But because you called in, especially with the dog sound effect that you have, that's wonderful. Yeah. We're going to send you out the prize of your choice.

You just get with Nick and he will fix you up.

So, thank you, David, so much for your call today. All right, thanks. All right, thank you. All right, it's still a mystery. What might that noise be?

866348. seven eight eight four eight six six three four eight 7884. We'll have Nick play it again in a minute, but Um You know, so you can there it is. Oh, it didn't matter. And you know, when I listen to it, it sounds like a pulley.

I happen to know what it is because I saw it while it was being recorded. And I also know what it is because it was what I was aiming for. Um, 866-348-7884. Maybe you can name that noise. Uh but again, the idea of When you were I don't know if you're like this, but I am.

Something happens at church, something happens at work, somebody says something, or you realize there's an impending disaster of some kind headed your way. And your mind immediately Takes off on trying to solve this problem for you, whether you essentially want it to or not. And I had this most amazing experience at the boot camp that Jerry was talking about last week. One of the leaders for years, his son, who I've known since he was a kid, was given a testimony, actually, and how God had helped him with anxiety. And that idea, he said, when your mind just takes off, it's like pounding nails.

And that, you know, for me, I call it running scripts because I start thinking of all the things I want to say and all these things, you know, that are going on.

So. you know as this idea of pounding scripts, your mind is essentially running away with itself, right? But what Christ does for us, based on 2 Corinthians 2, verse 5, I mean chapter 10, verse 5. The verse reads, Casting down imaginations in everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

No. Again, the thing of the, just to begin with, a disc break works because it's not. An inside process, it's an outside process, right? And so when you get these thoughts outside of yourself and you begin to bring them to Christ, He can put on the brake, so to speak. But when you're.

Got them running inside your head, you're going to overheat and you're going to have breakfast. I'm just saying. I'm sure you've experienced that. I know I have, right? And so, that idea of having it outside to begin with.

But the the the the beauty of this verse The more I've studied it, the more it just amazes me. is the first thing it says is to cast down imaginations. And what he's talking about all of this is the authority of God. We're supposed to give God all our cares because He's the one in authority. He's the one that ultimately knows what we're going to have.

And we got grace for today, but we don't have grace for tomorrow yet or three weeks from now. Yeah. And so By turning this over to him, we're changing who's in authority. Jesus take the wheel kind of thing, right?

So, just to begin with, just the immediate. Wait a minute, I'm not going to keep this in myself anymore, and I'm going to begin to cast it down.

Now what does that look like?

Well, I studied that word this morning, and this is the beautiful, I mean, you could just, this is worth the price of admission from my point, all together right here. The word that he used to cast down is the word that is used in taking Jesus off the cross. In fact, the first three times you'll find it used in the New Testament. is that very word. Where Jesus was taken off the cross, wrapped in linen, right?

Because he was nailed up there.

Well, our thoughts get nailed up there, and we've got to take them off the cross and kind of submit them to Jesus.

So we got Lauriers in. Pilot Mountain, North Carolina. And we're looking forward to her answer and yours when we come back at 866-348-7884. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. I say this calls for action and now nip it in the bud.

Nip it in the bud. You got to nip it in the bud. I want your friends! Stop it! Yes, S-T-O-P, new word, I-T.

So, I should just stop it. There you go. Walk your friends! I want your brainstorm. Pumping the brakes today on the Christian Car Guy Show, plus a little name that noise.

We got RK coming up in the garage. But mostly we're talking about disc brakes and the the amazing thing that they do and the way that we can apply Second Corinthians chapter 10, verse 5. But first we got Laurie is in Pilate Mountain as we described. She wants to play name that noise, Nick.

So Laurie, you're on the Christian Cargas show. Do you want to hear it one more time just to see if you can identify the noise? Yes, please.

Okay. Here we go. There you go, Laurie. Name that noise. Is a tractor with a PTO.

I like that. That is brilliant.

Now that sounds like somebody who's lived and heard, you know, One of the most fabulous inventions in the world is power takeoff, right? I mean, the neatest thing that they can do, they can drill holes, they can grind stuff up, they can, you know. But Lori, in this particular case. Although there might have been a tractor somewhere in the far distance that had a power takeoff running, the actual noise that I was trying to isolate here May be a little bit different than that, but because you have one of the more creative answers I think I've ever heard, Jerry. Yeah.

And so, what I gotta know.

So, from a standpoint of a power takeoff on a tractor, what's your favorite kind?

Well, I'm from Georgia. Me and my husband are from Georgia. Good. Yeah. What would you make you even say power takeoff?

PTO? You must have listened to a tractor at some point. John Deere. You got to do John Deere. Oh, that's green.

There you go. Well, thank you, Lori. God bless you. I'm going to put you back on hold and let Nick fix you up with something cool. All right.

Okay, perfect. Thank you. Y'all have a blessed day. You too. God bless.

So, how about you? 866-348-7884.

What noise might that be? 866-348-7884.

Jerry, you. Come on, how about a hint? I mean, is this a noise under the hood around the drivetrain? People that know me well would know that usually I'm thematic. You know, I'm.

I'm the kind of person that starts a show with a theme and the whole thing finally, you know, it's sort along that idea. But nonetheless, it's. We're talking about this taking all... I'll read this verse one more time because the idea of now we're going to use our disc brakes to. Take these thoughts captive, right?

So, casting down imaginations that we talked about. You know, how we're running scripts or we're nailing these things.

So we've got to take that thing down from the authority that it's taken in our hearts and our minds. Right? Because that's the reason why we've got to cast it down because it's in authority now, and we need Christ to be in authority. And so we're going to take it down. And Then it says, bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

That captivity It is a beautiful word. It's like you've got to capture this thing. Right? And but The word that really opens the whole door for me is the word obedience. Because in Hebrew, the word to hear is the same word as to obey, it's Shema.

In fact, here, O Israel, the Lord your God, the Lord is one. And so when you hear something, the implication is you're going to obey. Right? It's the same thing. But if you don't hear, how can you obey if you don't know?

And so the beauty of taking it in obedience to Christ is you take it to Him and then you begin to listen. Right? And often that means For me. When I'm not hearing I start reading the scripture even more. Because in order to be obedient, I'm clearly not hearing something.

And so if I'm not hearing, how can I obey? And so, if now, instead of my mind set on all the shenanigans that it's been running scripts and pounding nails and all the other stuff, it's down here trying to hear from God. Trying to hear the scripture if I don't hear something like You know, clear that God's telling me, and the beauty of it is, it puts me right where I need to be. Under his authority and in communion with him. Do you see the picture, Jerry?

Yeah, um As you're talking, I mean I I think we all, especially men, and as Christians, I mean, we. We we say we're obedient. We strive to be obedient, but being obedient 100% of the time just isn't our human nature. I mean, it's, and we try to fix things ourselves. And that goes back to that where you're running script all the time, is where.

When for me, when I start trying to Fix everything myself, then it leads to another problem. Then I'm trying to solve that problem. And if I can, you know, at some point I have to get to the point where I'm obedient to God and just say, you know what, God? I haven't got an answer, but I know that you do. I know you have a plan, and I just have to be obedient to that because as long as I'm.

try to do it on on my own. or only uh letting God have limited input on it It's usually Something I regret. Yeah, you're not a kidding. And not to mention that just the anxiety that your mind works running those scripts and all the blessings of the day that you're missing out on because you're consumed with this shenanigan that really. You weren't supposed to be consumed with.

And so you're missing out on a beautiful day or the other blessings. that God has for you. And so along those lines, I want to play this noise again. In hopes that somebody will think, gee, Robbie. Oh.

One more time, Nick. Oh. Yes, we're playing name that noise.

So if you're just tuning in and you heard that, what was that noise? What does that noise might have to do with the show today? 866 3487884866348 seven eight eight four. Um I know that it's a bit tricky, Jerry, but it's in there. When you listen carefully, I'll bet you you'll.

I think I may have an idea. When we come back, oh, we got a caller. I'm excited that has an idea: 866-2 callers. And we got RK in the garage. It's going to be an exciting second half to Chris.

One of those two has the answer. Oh, all right. 866-348-7884.

What say you? You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. I say this calls for action and now nip it in the bud. Nip it in the bud. You got to nip it in the bud.

What's the bread? Stop it! Yes! S-T-O-P, new word, I-T.

So, I should just stop it. There you go. We are pumping the brakes today on the Christian Car Guy Show playing Name That Noise. And so, boy, we lit it up now. We've got Shirley is in Ohio.

We've got Leonardo in South Carolina, Patty in Indiana, and John in Dayton, Ohio. And so, Nick, let's play it one more time so that everybody can get it in their mind before we play. And everybody, stay on the line because I want to talk to everybody. I don't want to lose anybody. But I also have RK in the garage.

We're going to get to him in a minute, but I know he wants to hear these answers as well.

So, go ahead and play it, Nick. Really powerful. Uh oh, yeah. All right, so surely Who is in Ohio? You called in first.

Shirley, what can you say? Can you name that noise?

Well, is it a governor? I like that. A governor? I haven't heard one of those. Yeah.

Uh no, that's not what it is. But that is a That not the noise that I recorded.

However, as always, I'm going to disclaim this by saying there might be a governor in the background that I was not aware of. But what is a Shirley, what's a governor? From your perspective.

Well There are different kinds of governors, but They all have one thing in common. They keep people or things or mechanical items in line. There you go. I like that. I like that.

We could all use more governors. Yeah. Good governors. We don't need any bad governors. Probably got enough of those.

But a good governor would be a great thing, surely. That's a great answer. And I'm so grateful for it. Thank you for calling in today. God bless you.

You have a good day. Bye-bye. Bye-bye. All right.

Next up, we got. Leonardo is in South Carolina. Leonardo, you're on the Christian Car Guy Show. What say you, Leonardo? What noise might that be?

Hey, um Thank you for taking my call. I believe that noise may be a belt tensioner.

Sounds like the bearing might be drying up there. You know that also Is a great answer, Leonardo. I love it. And there could clearly be and it and I got to tell you, if I was hearing that sound for the first time and I didn't actually watch it being recorded, I would not know. That it wasn't exactly what you described.

But as I said before, it could be going on in the background. We don't know. But the main noise that's being recorded there is a little bit something different. But again, we were so grateful for you playing and being with us today, Leonardo. I appreciate you calling in very much.

God bless.

Thank you. All right, we got Patty is in Indiana. Patty, you're on the Christian. Come on, Patty. We're counting on you.

We're coming. Come on, Patty. Come on, Hoosiers. Do you hear me? Do you hear me now?

I hear you great.

Okay, good.

Well, I think it's warning of your brakes are going out. Oh, you guessed it. Patty, you are. You have. Oh, yes.

Yes. That is an audible wear sensor, is actually what that's called. And so, just to give you the sound that the brakes are actually scrubbing after the audible wear sensor, but that little. Uh And And my point in all that, Patty, to some extent... Is that God sends us audible where noises, right?

He does, let me tell you. That you're running scripts or you're pounding nails, so it's time to take those obedience to Christ, right? That's the idea.

So you're a great answer. You're a winner, and you're going to get a special prize. Thank you so much for calling today. I'm going to put you back on holding. God bless you, guys.

God bless you. Thank you. I might have some cars for you someday. That would be great. That would be great.

Nick is going to. Take your call and get your information from you.

So, next up, we definitely do have. RK is in the garage with us today. And so Um Nick is busy with so many things we've given him. We didn't have your usual intro to talk about, you know, the amazing 88 years old and now 89, and still. turning wrenches, still getting it done.

In the garage.

So RK when it comes to these breaks. What what have you got for us? One thing you have to remember That the Sensors on the outside shoe. Outside pet. because the outside pads tends to wear more than the inside where the caliper is.

So that little sensor usually is in there. I've seen I've seen the people drive With that noise swinging out I guess it just they don't know what it is, and the next thing you know, you hear the grinding, which they've gone through the shoe. and down to the metal, you know.

So and I've seen also That S that Censored. being put on the wrong side. No, when they put the brake pads on. You wouldn't put the brake pads on because they're the same. And then, of course, you have.

you have the bonded l bonded brake pads against Some of my rivet is out there.

So the rivets are soft, but they still come down to the To cutting a rotor when you get down below that sensor.

So that noise mi is irritating to me.

So you've To me, I I have to stop. I have to f When it first happened to me, when I heard them, I said, I have to find out what that is. And I've come across the being backwards, being upside down, doing different things with that sensor. Yeah, it's it's and then if you if you damage it, putting it on and wa put it pulled it out. then it does no you know, by by chance it has no value because it's gonna miss the shoe.

Mr. Pad. Right, and I you know, it gets back to You know, are we really listening to our cars? Right? That we're using our senses as we're driving.

Something does not sound, something doesn't smell right, something doesn't feel right, something doesn't sound right. This is this is an opportunity to go, hm Maybe somebody's trying to tell me something. God does that with us too, right, R. K. And and another thing Yeah.

the c you the sounds and the smells of the car, there's there's reasons for it. You know, there's there's there there there's reason for that, so please. Pay attention. to the you know, w i if you have a heating problem like the thermostat doesn't open right away and it warms up the car and all of a sudden you smell something hot but it's not hot enough to b boil, well, That's a smell that you want to take care of. Yeah, you can smell antifreeze, and so just choose new.

Just using your nose, just using your ears. Jerry, you run into this every day, too. Yeah, I mean, Arcade, I think you'll agree with me on this. I mean, there's so many things that can be telltale signs. I mean, you smell antifreeze, or all of a sudden, your door doesn't shut properly.

So, what do you do? You you just keep putting the antifreeze and w the and coolant back in your radiator instead of finding out what the problem is.

Next thing you know, you've got a blown head gasket. Your door drops a little bit, you just slam it harder every time, and now all of a sudden you have ruined you could even tear the post up, bust the welds on the post. New latches and stuff, or just simple things. I mean, your car is going to tell you. A lot of times, what needs to be done and where some attention needs to be paid, but we kind of I've had people all the time walk through the door, and there'll be something that, well, how long has it been doing that?

And, well, I don't know, six or seven months.

Well, now it's a major problem.

Well, see, and the point of all that I think God is trying to point out to me. As well as I see it. that that we often don't stop and take time to check with God to how do I feel. What am you know, am I? Running too fast?

Am I running on empty? Am I, you know, am I, am I giving off an odor based on my behavior, you know, you know, that I shouldn't be giving off? In other words, It's it's it's Like Help me, God, because clearly there's something that's out of alignment here emotionally. And there are sensors that are going off that are telling you, Hey, And so You go outside of yourself, not just... Obviously, if you've tried with Christ, but sometimes you need to go to a friend or a pastor or a counselor or somebody, but don't.

Don't ignore it. Just don't, it gets worse. I guarantee you. With your car, with ourselves, with our relationships, when we ignore. The little problems, they will become big problems.

And especially with anxiety and depression, you know, that testimony I was telling you about at the beginning, you know, this was a young man, he's 26 years old, and all of a sudden he's struggling with suicidal thoughts because he didn't. He didn't really do something radical about what his body was telling him, what he knew was going on with him emotionally. And just like our case is It You sometimes you got to take it to a professional. You got to go to somebody who deals with this kind of stuff in order to help you because it's just not you. I know because I attempted suicide one time, and I realized later on in life when I had a dear family member attempt it, that wow, it wasn't just me I would have affected.

I would have affected all my living relatives all the time, but I would have affected my kids, my grandkids, and all these other people are all affected by how you take care of yourself. That's why God trusts you. To take care of your car, to take care of yourself. The beautiful stuff, RK.

So helpful today in the garage. Thank you. Thank you, my friend. God bless.

You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. I say this calls for action and now nip it in the bud. Nip it in the bud. You gotta nip it in the bud. Watch your bread.

Stop it! Yes! S-T-O-P, new word, I-T.

So, I should just stop it. There you go. Yep. Yeah. We are pumping the brakes today on the Christian Car Guy Show.

And, you know, if you listen carefully to my. Bump in or the intro at the beginning, you're going to hear Bob Newhart. And it's an hilarious bit. You ought to. Listen to the whole thing on YouTube.

It's just called Stop It. And he, in this particular Bob Newhart show, for those of you who don't know, Bob Newhart was a comedian and the. you know, sixties, seventies, eighties, nineties even. And um In Elf, he was the one that played the Papa Elf. If you don't know, there he is.

But anyway, he played a counselor, and this is not the kind of counselor you want to go to. But anyway, the bit's called Stop It. And so this woman comes to him, and she has all these emotional problems. As a matter of fact, she thinks she continues to have this dream that she's. Being locked in a box.

And so, after she gives him this long, heartfelt description of how horrible it feels to be locked in this box, you know, he says, Well, I. You know, I got two words for you. And he says it real calm, you know, and then all of a sudden he just blasts her with, stop it. And she's like, and you can hear the bitch, she says, so I'm just supposed to stop it. S-T-O-P-I-T, two words, stop it, you know.

And the sense of that, number one, that's not the county counselor we're suggesting you go see, but number two. is that we think Right, that we can just push harder on the brake. All right.

And that's where the ABS system, the second system I had in my description this morning, and I lock brakes. Because if you stomp on the brake, Right? What happens is Panic stop. And all the world sees you slide off the mountain because you know you way overreacted to a situation that may not have been anywhere close to the situation because you let your mind Take control of it, and of course, you're in all these relationships, and people can't figure out why you're so freaked out. About all that, and you s what you see as a result of this.

you know, running these scripts, pounding these nails in your minds. is this panic stop, right? Like you've tried and tried and you know, I'm gonna help this and Eventually, you come up with your solution, and that's to slam on the brakes.

Well, Yeah. The Holy Spirit. The beauty of all this, right? If you think about The the the Uh The ABS system is outside of you. You don't have any control.

If you have analog brakes on your car, try to keep it from working, okay? Just try to, if you slam on the brake with ABS, right? It pumps the brakes. It it It doesn't allow your car to slide. And so, by relying in, and trusting in, and listening to, and feeling the Holy Spirit telling you, take these things to Christ.

Come under the obedience of Christ. Listen, listen, listen. Obey, obey, obey. You know, the Holy Spirit's.

Okay. Really come and w Constantly with this information for you to help you so you don't end up in this panic stop situation, right? You know, when you're saying that, Robin, one thing that just made me. as I'm sitting here just just come to mind. how much, you know, we don't put any thought in Anti-lock brakes.

We don't the ABS brakes, we don't even put any thought. We get in there, we know when we need to stop, we push that pedal down there and it's gonna stop us. How many ha for m for me, how many Thomas Duane. Think that those anti-lock brakes don't need me to pump them. It's only to do it.

It doesn't need me to be letting on and off of that pedal any. God own God just needs me to be obedient. Too many times in my life, I'm still pumping that brake. Right. And I think.

If you are a say you don't have that problem at some some At some level, I think you've probably got a bigger problem. That may be lying. But. I think we all will have that and the only way we can ever Get through it, and if things just continue, as you said earlier, being in God's word, leaning into God. And our relationship and growing that, and just totally giving surrender to him and having confidence that he's going to take care of it.

In my mind, there's a lot of situations that I go through that I see. no light at the end of the tunnel, but I if I can ever get to the point, and when I do get to the point of saying, God, you're in control, or God, you're the one who's going to defend me. God, you're the one who's going to get me to the end of this road. I will usually get there. And it may not be the path I thought it was going to be, but God will get me there.

Yeah, the beautiful thing of it is that I am not the main character of this story. If once I come to the understanding of, like, wow, I'm supposed to bring down these thoughts. to the authority, the main player. It's not me. And so I may get crushed.

In the midst of whatever in the world is going on. But if that's if I'm really trusting God and walking with Him and in His Word, He will give me grace in that moment when I need it, not. Three weeks from now. But in the moment I need it, I know from personal experience, and so do you, Jerry. He will give you grace for that moment if you need that grace in that moment.

But part of that deal might be, because I'm not the main player in this story, it may be that Robbie gets crushed in this deal. It's okay. if God is exalted. Yeah, but what I'm called to be and I think what Robbie's called to be and what all of us are called to be is kingdom builders. And sometimes if we're kingdom builders, it is never going to be about Jerry Mathis.

It's not going to be about Business that I put all my work and a lot of labor into. It's not going to be about any of that. It should be about God.

Okay. It clearly is. It clearly is. you know, we're so tied up and and this is one of the parts that breaks my heart. And I'm talking about me.

I get so caught up in my ministry. I get so caught up that I let something happen in my family, which should be the second priority. Right, that I'm so busy running scripts and driving nails over here because of this scenario that I'm missing the fact that, oh man. You know, I've got a new grandbaby. Like, oh man, I get to spend time this afternoon.

I actually do with my granddaughter, who's in a competition down south of Charlotte. I can hardly wait. Right? And if I'm running scripts or pounding nails, Man, I'm going to miss out on the joy. of being with that family.

Which is the second? Clearly the second priority because I've put way too much and this is just A problem I've had. for years because my identity is tied up in in my work. Where it should be. in Christ.

Ah, absolutely. I know that God wants us to have joy in our life. And For us to have joy, it is that point, coming to the point where we know that we're not in control and that God is going to take care of us because there's no joy in. Feeling like you're on go all the time. I mean, it had you need to run 110 miles an hour continuously.

You need to set goals and make sure you. achieve those at all cost. All of a sudden We're down a path that is hard to recover from. And the only way we recover from it is to get back into just trusting and being obedient to our Lord and Savior. And That is not an easy task.

It's not an easy task for me. I'll just say that. No, and it requires a great deal of. of listening. Of hearing and obeying.

But in order to obey, you first got to hear. And just getting calmed down enough, really, for me, I'm talking about me. Like, I got to get calmed down enough. To look in the words to go, okay, what is this actually saying, Robbie? And what's God trying to tell me?

And and you know, where might this improve our relationship?

So Pump the brakes. Fun stuff today. I appreciate so much all the calls, all the participation. It was a lot of fun. Absolutely.

It is. An old game came back and came back strong. Name that noise. We may have to try it again soon. Again, thank you all for listening.

Remember, and this has everything to do with today's topic: slow down, pump the brakes. Jesus walked everywhere he went and got it all done in 33 years. Thanks for listening. Yeah.
