This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. We will fill the tank and make our way down windy tracks and beaten roads. We'll drive away from this old town and find a place we've never known. Welcome to the Christian Car Guy Radio Show.
This calls for action and now with the summer sun over over Open planes with the windows down, we'll drive along and our hearts will grow. As our troubles fade away. I'm dreaming of the road again. Set free in the Feels like we found home. Yeah.
On the road that's grown thin. Faith's road trip today on the Christian Car Guy Show. Faith's. Road trip. I love that last.
little bit of the words in that verse, um that we just heard on He said that road within, right? And, you know, I can't help but note that one of the greatest. publications outside the Bible ever was uh A Pilgrim's Progress, which was essentially a road trip back then back in the day.
So I had this dear friend, um I was studying Romans 1:17 this week to begin with, and you may know that there's a pretty famous article. idea in Romans 1.17 that says From faith to faith, and then he quotes Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 4, which says, The righteous shall live by faith. And that idea of from faith to faith, as I was thinking about that and I was processing it this week, I had this friend, dear friend. Who grew up Catholic? And he was reading over the last few years, he's been sharing his story about how he's been reading through the Bible.
And. He was telling me. That he just started on his third trip in, and what a delight it was for him because he said, You know, Robbie, the first time I read through the Bible, I was just struggling to even, you know, I'd heard all this stuff in years about science, about evolution or whatever, and I just didn't even know if I believed that God created the world in seven days. He said, But now that I'm reading it, you know, the third time through, and I've totally. come to accept by faith that this is exactly what what happened.
He said, now I get I can dispense with all that stuff in my mind and I can begin to dig deeper into the storyline. I can dig deeper. And he says it's so much richer this time and I'm seeing things I just never saw before. And as I began to think about Romans 117 to that, as your faith grows, you begin to see the journey clearer and clearer. And I couldn't help but note that when it comes to road trips, it's very similar.
Like you can take exactly the same trip day after day after day and never see the details. And then all of a sudden, something happens, and you decide to investigate a little further, and oh my goodness. What a what a treasure you may find. Right. drove through Bethabra Park here in Winston-Salem.
For those who are not familiar with it, it's okay. You probably have a neat park that you drive through all the time. And I never really had spent any time exploring it. Um But then, you know, a few years ago, I began an exercise routine. In fact, actually, I was trying to walk with God more, and I was walking as I was exercising.
I'm talking with God and all of a sudden I began to see all the stuff that had been there all the time right in front of me and I just have never realized how rich this was. The history, you know, the people that had been there and the you know, the the mills and the Uh you know, the forts and the All the different artifacts that just laid there right in front of us, if we're willing to see. How we have the light that we have based on a lot of people living before us, such as the case, you know, with the Bible. And so, I'm wondering for you. you know What has been your experience like that?
Maybe it was in a road trip or something that, like, oh my goodness, it just opened up and you saw it like never before. Or maybe it was your trips through the Bible. We would love to hear your story, 866-6666. The number to call in and share 866-348-7884. This is a live show for that very reason.
We love to hear your testimonies, maybe your faith road trip, or maybe your real one. We would just love to hear it. 866-348-7884. We got so much coming up today. I got my good friend Bill Mixon, our Christian insurance guy, with us here today.
We got Pastor Paul Nicholas is going to be calling in with a need there in Utah. R.K., you know, the legendary garage of RK is coming up at the bottom of the hour. And we got Paula coming up in the last segment. Bill, you had a a journey. yourself that I just I'm still wowed by this and you told me about it earlier.
Well, I I went through college and one thing led to another. I was offered a job in Winston to come down and take over an agency and left before I finished my college courses. I had the opportunity, if I'd have been smarter, To have finished up some of those courses, but it was a whole lot more difficult to start a brand new insurance agency than I thought. And all these promises just went by the wayside. Basically, every time I got a new manager, the old promises went away.
And I was walking around with a lot of baggage. I mean, I was waking up mad, I was eating my lunch mad, I was going to bed mad, and a good friend of mine. pulled me over one time and said, You know, we quit reading the Lord's Prayer before we're supposed to. I said, well, what do you mean by that? I said, it's the middle of a letter, right?
I said, well, yes. He says, how often do you quit reading a letter in the middle of a letter? I said, okay, what's your point? He says, well, they went to Jesus and asked Jesus how to talk to God. And Jesus explained how to talk to God.
And then he said, for if you.
Now, that's not the number four. It's F-O-R. He says, well, for in that context means because I ran out of guests for I failed to fill my tank up. I failed to fill my tank up for I left my money on the dresser.
So when you read it, it says, Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer, and then Jesus said, I gave you the Lord's Prayer because if you forgive others when they sin against you, then your heavenly Father will forgive you. Said, I'm not quite sure I understand. He says, Well, if Jesus says that God will forgive you if. you forgive other people, then obviously God's not forgiving when you don't forgive. And my world changed.
I mean, it really started to aggravate me because I spent a whole lot of time every day. really mad. At different situations, not necessarily the individual people, but the situation I was in because I'd counted on these. promises by other people. And it dawned on me that it's important that we learn to forgive others, not for them, because a lot of times the people that we're upset at, mad at, don't have any idea who we are.
And if they know who we are, they have no idea that We're upset at them. And if they understood that we were upset at them, they'd have absolutely wonderful excuses because anybody in their situation would have done the exact same thing. And nobody, or very few, do something to somebody else with the intention that you're forever going to be mad at them. But what do we do?
Well We forgive for our own sake. The better we get at forgiving other people, the better we get at forgiving ourselves. And that's where love comes from. You can't love somebody else deeply if you don't forgive em. And you can't love yourself deeply if you're carrying this baggage around with you.
And Jesus said. He says, Christ came so that repentance and forgiveness of sins would be taught in his name. We free ourselves from a lot of baggage, a lot of hurt, when we get better at forgiving ourselves. I love that you know, Bill has an amazing ministry in the prison system. Um And your understanding is interesting.
God comforted you with this. that you might comfort these men. Uh and you experience this is huge in the in the prison system, right?
Well, there are a lot of people around that carry around this knot of anger and frustration that they've done something wrong and that they want to try to fix it themselves. I had a hard time understanding an all-loving and caring God because, in my mother's world, you needed to make sure you'd fixed all the problems yourself before you got called before. And I always wanted to fix. The things that I felt like were far off from what God wanted before I went before Him, because I didn't want Him thrown in my face. But the whole purpose of Jesus coming is that we can't fix our own problems.
That we've got to lay those at God's feet. He says, not only will He forgive our sins and our transgressions, that He will forget that we ever did them. But That's a hard concept for people that weren't brought up seeing forgiveness in the people around us. Yeah, and and so as you're working with those prisoners, obviously they have two issues. I mean, most of them if you go into the prison system and visit, and I have many, many times.
Um, they're really angry. I mean, really, really angry. And I had never really put it together like, wow, as you begin to forgive others, the most difficult person to forgive, it's been my experience, is to forgive myself. And what a promise that there is in that whole thing. And so it's just an example of: you read that passage and you read it, and at some point in time, You decide to explore, right?
And it becomes a road trip. Hey, we got so much more. We got Pastor Nicholas R.K. Paula coming up. Stay tuned.
We need you. 866-34-TRUTH. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Yeah. I'm dreaming of a road.
Again. Feels like we found it. Home again on the road. Grow within.
Well, welcome back to today's show on a Christian Car Guide. We're talking about faith's road trip. Right? I don't know if you've had that same experience that things get richer and brighter as we get. Further down the road, both in the Bible that things open up that you'd never seen before, or maybe something in your life, like Bill talks about, forgiveness may open up in our case here at the Christian Car Guy Show.
One of the things that opened up a number of years ago Wow, I can't believe it's probably been 15 or 16 now. Is the Jesus labor love? which is, if you're not familiar with it, car repair labor and sometimes cars for single moms, widows, and families in crisis. And we have had that ministry for years and years, and it totally depends on Um two things. Uh it depends on People having the courage to reach out and ask for help, which is not so easy to do sometimes.
And they can do that again by going to ChristianCarGuy.com. And there you're going to see a big banner that Jesus Labor Love applied for help. And so people apply for help. And then beautifully and wonderfully. Um people have given to the Jesus Labor Love now for years and years and years and just sustained so many single moms, widows, and families in crisis through this ministry.
Well, occasionally we come up with something that the Lord allows us to take part in that just is overwhelmingly difficult and overwhelming on all sorts of levels. And so I wanted, we got a couple of those situations today that I wanted to give you a chance to hear actually from the applicant. Of what's going on in their life and have a special offering, so to speak. You know, when you go to Jesus Labor Love at Christian CarGuy.com, you can go to jesuslaborlove.com as well. But if you go to ChristianCarGuy.com, you're going to see a donate button.
And you can just designate that you want this to go to either of these applicants we're going to talk to today. But the first one up is Pastor Nicholas. And Pastor Nicholas is in Utah. His situation is really different than anything I've really faced before. Pastor Nicholas, welcome to the Christian Cargas Show.
I appreciate it, Robbie. Thank you for having me. Good morning. Good morning. And so.
You're a pastor there in Utah, um, which It's it's not not exactly a highly Mm-hmm. Christian audience, necessarily, there, right? No, no, no, it's not. We're a home-based home missions work. uh just snuggled into the country town of of Deweyville, which is about twenty miles south of the Idaho border, so we're we're northern Utah and yes, it's very heavily LDS face.
Right, which is the Latter-day Saints, Mormons. For a lot of folks down here aren't used to those terms. But Um he's A pastor has a r a really large family, but you also have a a dire need because of a daughter that's that's in the hospital, right? Yes, sir. Yeah, we I have eight children.
I like to tell people, especially when we head out of town and they see a large number of kids and they're not used to that number. I tell sometimes even the cashiers or people that are looking at us, I'll say, well, I have eight kids with just one wife. People get a kick out of that. But we have, yes, we have a large family. And we had our newest addition to the family was actually our son named Dallas.
He was born November 13th, this past 2025. And he's been in the hospital ever since. He was. Only alive for about eight days before he was life flighted to Salt Lake, the children's primary. and he has been there ever since.
And even so, it's been a hard time for my family and myself, and even the ministry trying to juggle between. having service and then ha heading down there to stay with him and all that. And so Um it's been it's been a hard time. But at the same time, through the the darkest of times we've seen the greatest of light and even with my son Um on November 21st, just late into the night, around 11 o'clock at night. They had to perform they were trying to perform surgery on him and he ended up dying.
And we began to pray. And we had we called our friends, we had others praying. And for about three to four minutes he was he was dead and then he was brought back to life. And so we have seen things that we have never seen before in the darkest of times. But yes, he's still there.
He'd been there for about two and a half months. almost three months this this Friday, actually. And so yeah, it's been a hard time for us. Yeah, it sure has. And to make it harder, they have a 15-passenger van.
And unfortunately, with all these trips back and forth, and you can see why they need a 15-passenger van. And so replacing a 15-passenger van anymore is not the easiest thing in the world, because manufacturers don't make them like they used to. And so That's right. The challenge is that it needs a transmission and a transmission For this situation. is going to be about four thousand dollars, which is Way exceeds what we normally do to help someone with a Jesus labor love.
So, what we wanted to do was take up a special offering for the pastor under these circumstances. Again, you can imagine. why he needs a sixteen pastor van. You can also imagine um the stress of what they're going through right now. There is a wonderful sister in his church that is providing them with a Toyota so that Your wife, right, can go back and forth.
Yes. And She, unfortunately, is trying to make her way around in this Dodge pickup truck. And so all these things are going on there in Utah. But as as I heard all this, I thought, gee, I'll reach out. to you.
Right? And if God puts it on your heart... Right, to give to this particular offering for Pastor Nicholas and his family. You just go to again, the Christian CarGuy.com, there's a donate button right there, and just designate that you want this to go to Pastor Nicholas in Utah or to Utah, however you want to get it. Uh email me if you don't want to use that donate.
Whatever it is you want to do. And and certainly the address to the Jesus Labor Love is there at the website as well. If you want to mail a check, that's good too. Nothing has to be You know, however, we can accommodate it. We just want to accommodate the pastor.
If you're not familiar with our ministry, we have no administrative costs. In other words, every dime that you give to us is going to go directly towards this transmission, I assure you. Our accountants, their time is donated. We have nothing but volunteers within the ministry. The radio stations provide the airtime.
It's an amazing thing that God's provided. And so you're not paying for any of that if you give to this offering. This is just straight for Pastor Nicholas and his family's transmission there in Utah.
So, Pastor Nicholas, thank you so much for your courage to call in and share today. Yes, sir. I appreciate you having me on. Thank you. You're welcome.
God bless you, guys. God bless.
Well, we got a whole lot more of Face Road Trip. We got. The legendary Barrage of Arcade coming up here in a second. Don't want to miss that. Stay tuned.
to the Christian Cargaship. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Hmm. I'm dreaming of a rope. Set for the next one.
Feels like we found home. Again, on the road that's grown within. Welcome back to the Christian Car Guy Show. Today's show, Faith's Road Trip. I don't know if you considered it.
It's an amazing thing, actually, that the further we go on this trip, right? I. I think That essentially Romans says we go from faith to faith. Not from faith to certainty, right?
So, it's not the destination that changes, it's actually your capacity. to see it keeps expanding. And Bill gave us an amazing example of that. In forgiving ourselves earlier in the show, we would love to hear yours. 866-348-7884 is the number to call in and share.
866-34-TRUTH. And now it is my absolute pleasure to once again Enjoy some time in our case. Garage? And now time for the legendary garage of RK88 and still full throw. Good morning, Robin.
Good morning, RK. We'll just go straight to it. But anyway, for those of you who are not familiar, RK is my good friend, 88 years old and still... Repairing transmissions. I wish you were there in Utah.
Where we got this man with a 16-passenger van, he desperately needs a transmission repaired. I just got a a son in the NICU in Salt Lake City and his wife has to make a Two hour time. Pardon me? What is the what is the tr what is the van? One of those sixteen pasture uh dodge vans.
Okay.
Okay.
And uh Find Force people. You find the address. Atra shop, ATRA ATRA certified shop. And uh they'll they'll take care of them. Yes, yes.
And thanks to the donations that have already started rolling in, that's going to be a whole lot easier for them. It's amazing. Absolutely wonderful.
Okay, so speaking of transmissions, that's what we want to talk about today. And number one, we just want to thank God that you're with us today. Thank God. God is good. Because there were so many on the show praying for you two Saturdays ago, is when you actually went back into the second surgery.
Yeah. Yeah. I got I didn't I knew there was a problem, but But they didn't know how bad it was until they Went down I-40 in the hospital at about 40 miles an hour on a stretcher. And I said, Wow, we're going somewhere, somewhere fast today.
So I was bleeding in ti internally and they had to stop it. Yeah, it was a Scary situation, but the good news is. Um God intervened and here we are and so We've been wanting to talk about this for weeks. But a lot of people have been told over the years that once your transmission reaches a certain age, It's probably not good to service it anymore because the new fluid.
Well, I'll let you explain it. You do so much better than I, R.K. Yeah. Well I I I'd Sometimes think it's better to service them at thirty and thousand or forty thousand or fifty thousand miles so you don't have that problem of worrying about it at a hundred and fifty. the transmission going out, but Problem is, Robbie.
Uh The the rear wheel drive cars tru trucks and cars have a transmission pan. And I don't believe it. Flushing. A lot of guys do, but I don't believe in flushing The the transmission out. I believe it if it if the oil is good, it doesn't smell.
Change your filter in the pan. And put fresh oil in. I think that's a good way to go to my book. And We did it that way for years and years and years and years, right? Nobody heard about flushing the but now we have a problem because it's mostly front-wheel drive cars.
And the transmission filter To change it is two thousand dollars because you have to do it three thousand because you have to take the transmission out and take it apart and to put a filter in it. And it and it's it's a job. I just did one. And I did, I mean, you had to take it apart of it to filter, but in. But that's the problem.
So what Honda did, and a couple of them, they put an inline filter, like a gas filter, out there, and all the oil coming back I don't know if people know this or not, but all the oil coming back from your coolers The oil is pumped out into the coolers and the radiator and the and exchanges that they have out there. All that oil coming back in your transmission is for lubrication. It goes only to lubrication. And then the pump s takes over again. But that oil has to be clean.
If it's coming back for lubrication, you need clean oil.
So some of the cars. Yeah, I think it's a good idea. a paper filter that you can change On the outside of these cars with the filters on the inside. It sounds funny, but. The Lewis Canister.
I've done a bunch of them. and a little canister there, so that helps. With the newer cars. But in the front wheel drive cars that you're describing, those do require flush? Money.
I d I don't like the dooder flushes, but some people ha have if the oil is good, you if the oil is clean and stuff like that and you want to flush it, okay. But if you have dirty brown oil, You're contaminating the rest of the system. I, what I would would like people to do if they have that problem, we don't flush the transfusion, take the lines off. and flush the cooling system. of the transmission.
The cooling lines and like that. Blush that. There's a hot blush for that. It's just like the arteries that my legs that I just had done. Where the flax where the stuff gets clogged on the sticks on the sides of the of the lines and and stops the flow of circulation of lubricant.
So if you keep them clean. you'll you'll get better off Coming back in, it's all for the presentation. Let me see if I can summarize what you're saying. I think it's beautiful. Yeah, absolutely.
Wonderful.
Okay.
So to go back through what we've just discussed a little bit. Number one, what RK is saying. is that If you change your transmission fluid regularly, 30,000, 50,000 miles, You don't have to worry about the fact That you went 150,000 miles and if you change it now, you could cause all sorts of problems. That was the first statement we talked about. Number two statement is if you drain out your transmission fluid, because you're going to just change it.
Which is a good idea. You talked about every 30,000 miles.
So if you drain it out and you look at it and it looks clean and you can't smell, because believe me, transmission fluid, when it is bad, has a horrible smell to it. It'll make you sick. Yeah, it's burnt and it smells horrible. If you smell that, then you might want to consult an expert, right? Go ahead and drain that out, put some other in and then get with somebody that really knows what to do with that.
But if the oil smells good and all is good, and if you don't have an inline filter like most front-wheel drive cars don't have, then... Then You know, just put new, fresh transmission fluid in it and away you go. If you've got a rear-wheel drive car, there is a filter. You drop the pin and away you go. You can change the filter.
And then the last thing he was describing: if you're really good and you know what you're doing and you smell that smell. Um That is unremarkable. And believe me, every car I ever praised in my life, if you're going to go buy a car, here's some information for you. Pull the dipstick out. And if you smell that smell, then you know you got a problem, right, RK?
You bought a few cars your time. I've had people say, well, I did trade you off, but I smell, well, let me smell your dipstick. And you got looks at you like you're crazy. But that's the truth. That's the truth.
I know. That's just standard, like used car 101, pull the dipstick and smell the transmission fluid.
So if you do smell that and you got that problem, then you may need to consult an expert. Does that summarize the whole thing for you, RK? I I think you did a little few additives I want to say. I like additives.
Well, that's a good transmission plu pun, by the way. Yeah. Please get the correct Fluid or transmissions. Oh my goodness. Yes.
Oh my goodness. It is not you couldn't. A hundred and at the last count, I think it was a hundred and forty three different fluids for transmissions.
So They it makes a difference, you know. And another thing I'd You b me in that Chrysler dealer for a long time. Dodge. They get you a little bit on the Dodge trucks You change the filter and change the oil and drop it. It's probably about six hundred, seven hundred dollars and you say, Well, why is that, Richard?
Well, the whole pan on the transmission is the filter. It's a plastic pan.
So you drop the pan, the pan has a filter internal.
So we had to throw that away. and and buy a new one. But if they want to come to me, I can save them money on the on the park because I went the other well, the first time it happened, I went to the uh O'Reilly, it was three hundred and twenty dollars. And I said What? And I bought the same part, the same make, the same everything for $115 at my transmission jobber.
There you go.
So there's ways around it. But right now, RK, you're not going to be changing any oil, I hope, for a couple more weeks at least. I look out that window and I said, I'm not going anywhere. Oh, boy.
Well, thank you, RK. As always, what a joy to have RK in the garage, the legendary garage of RK.
Next time, next week, we'll have the music again, I hope. And we'll be right back with a whole lot more Christian Car Guy Show. Thanks, RK. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. I'm dreaming of a road Said Feels like a foundation.
Home again on the road that's grown thin. Faith's road trip today on the Christian Car Guys Show. Talking about from Romans 1:17, going from faith to faith, as it says in Habakkuk 2:4, right? The righteous shall live by faith. And the Lord has certainly been teaching us that at the Christian Car Guy Show.
We're wondering about you. Have you had that experience where, wow, you began to walk in faith, and then God just kept on opening up bigger and wider doors? And it's amazing how. Uh One little door that opens up like what Bill talked about with forgiving. Uh others that we might learn to begin to forgive ourselves.
As God has forgiven us, is all some amazing stuff.
Well, as promised. We have one more of the Jesus Labor Love applicants that we want to talk to today. If you're just tuning in, the Jesus Labor Love is Car Repair Labor for Single Moms, Widows, and Families in Crisis. Ministry of the Christian Car Guy Show for years and years. You can find that all at ChristianCarGuy.com.
If you go to ChristianCarGuy.com, you can click on the Donate button. Or you're going to see Donate a Car button because actually the other applicant we want to talk to today, whose name is Paula. She had a Kia, she has a Kia, that unfortunately it needs an engine that's way more expensive than the value of the car. And she has a desperate need for a car. And so, this is a little different request than we had for Pastor Nicholas, because in his situation, we couldn't replace the van very easily.
I can't imagine somebody having a 16-pastor van in Utah to donate. Although that would work too if you happen to have one. But here, in this situation, it happens to be in the Winston-Salem area. You know, we just need a car.
So, if you know somebody or you have a car. That's drivable, that can help Paula out while she is in this transitional period where her Kia is gone. That's what we're requesting. And again, you can do that at Christian CarGuy.com.
So, welcome, Paula. Hello. And so, Paula, can you share a little bit of your story so that people can hear, you know. You know, this is this is a difficult time for you. Yes, sir, very much so.
Um I am in bankruptcy at this time and my twenty twenty Kia is rolled into it. I've been having severe oil consumption with it and I've been caring for the car. This is in a situation where I just Didn't care for my car. I've done a lot of work and an upkeep for it. Because, you know, the saying is you take care of your car and your car will take care of you.
Um That just is not the situation right now. And so. I just don't have the funds. They want they initially said it would be six thousand to replace the engine. But I actually got the written estimate yesterday to board over to the bankruptcy attorney.
And it's more in the realm of eight thousand five hundred and, um, thirty cents, something like that, which is two thousand and five hundred more than what they initially told me.
So Yeah, and that situation is just right. And so, to clarify a little bit what Paul is saying. Um actually You took care of it and changed the oil and did all those things regular at the dealership, right? At the kid store. Correct.
And so she kept all her maintenance up, did everything she was supposed to do. And again, she hadn't paid off that car yet.
So she's still making payments on this car through the bankruptcy court, which unfortunately can't take her to work and all the things that she needs to do in her life. And so what we're asking for in Paula's case is somebody that might have a car in the No central North Carolina area. It could be Raleigh, Durham, wherever in this area of North Carolina. As we have a lot of listeners in this area, because it's where our headquarters is, if you would just, again, go to ChristianCarGuy.com and click on the donate a car, you know, we will, you know, we. We want to have this as a special offering for Paula.
So just tell me that that you want to donate a car, not just donate a car, but donate it for Paula. And again, you can do that at Christian CarGuy.com.
And so, Paula, what all do you need that car for? What you work? What what what are you doing with it? I actually, um, my husband has medical issues. He has COPD and then he all emphysema.
He also had he's disabled. He has heart, congestive heart failure. He has had multiple back surgeries.
So what I just found to work best for me as far as work is I DoorDash. You definitely have to have a vehicle to do that. Right. Um so Right.
So you obviously are or using that car to take him back and forth. That's the only car you two have? We um We do have a Honda Civic, but it is what my son uses to get him to school. Um And then he he can go to work. He works at Little Caesars down the road.
Um, But just the one vehicle with all the things that, you know, me trying to door dash and then get my husband to work and then the school timing. it's just the two vehicles is always Right. The better option. And I always I just thought I would have this key at least, you know. Yeah, I get it.
I get it.
Well, again. It's only five years old. Yeah, it seems crazy, but there it is. And it's a very difficult situation. Again, greater than the resources we normally have at Christian, at the Jesus Labor Love to Overcome.
So we decided since we were doing the other with Pastor Nicholas in Utah, we would offer this up for somebody maybe in Winston-Salem to get a blessing from helping out Paula with her situation in some type of alternate transportation. So, this faith road trip, I wanted to thought I'd give you a little more background on where God took me this week.
So, I told you a little bit about my friend who Um, had gone through the Bible and it became more and richer and richer, and so the way that God started to teach me about this idea this week was I was doing, and those who are familiar, I have a YouTube channel called Voices of Zion, Rabbi and the Rabbi, and I'm the Rabbi of the Rabbian Rabbi. And I interviewed this. Orthodox Jewish rabbi out of Jerusalem every week. We go through Old Testament prophecies and things about Jerusalem. It's absolutely beautiful.
And he teaches wonderfully on the Old Testament. And we were discussing Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 4, and when he quoted it, he said, The righteous will live in faith. And I went, what do you mean in faith? I said, it's by faith because, you know, I was quoting the New Testament, but you know, Romans 1:17, and it's in Galatians as well, in Hebrews. And He says, no, it's in.
And so I immediately, you know, go look at the passage in Hebrew, and I went, oh my goodness, you're right. It is in faith.
So when Abakik said it in faith, The book of Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 4 if you read it strictly by Hebrew standards and in the Hebrew Bible You're going to find it says the righteous live in faith and the way the rabbi described it is actually you're encapsulated by your faith you almost live inside of it when you think about it you do live in Christ you are baptized into Christ and so actually when you look in Matthew 28 when it says you're gonna baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit that is the word in most most assuredly in Greek and it should align perfectly with what Paul said in Habakkuk I mean in Romans 1 17 but when you look closely You'll see. Paul does say in faith at the beginning, to faith being where you end up. But then at the end, when he says that they will live by faith. That has to do more with living out of your faith. It's an absolutely beautiful concept, something to study if you want to pause and look at it.
It's an amazing thing. Again, the righteous. will live by faith and also in faith. Thank you for listening. Thank you, Bill, for being with me today.
Always a pleasure. And remember, slow down. Jesus walked everywhere he went and got it all done in 33 years. Thank you for listening.
