This is the Truth Network. She's real fine, my 409. She's real fine, my goal, night, my phone. Welcome to the Christian Car Guy Radio Show with today's guest host, our Christian Body Shop Guy, Jerry Mathis. I say this calls for action and now I'm going to save all my money.
Good morning and welcome to Christian Car Guy Radio. And again, I am Jerry Mathis from Race Body Shop and Record Service, the Christian Body Shop Guy. This morning, man, I am excited about this morning. You forgot the line. What's the line?
When you say Ray's body shop and record service. You have to immediately put the slug line in, where we perfected the art of the invisible repair. That's preaching, brother. Preach it. And they do.
They actually do. You cannot tell where your car has been. Right.
Well, I've got a truck with 201,000 miles on it. It's a 2013, and it looks pristine, right? And they go, man, how have you kept the truck looking that good? I said, well, I've wrecked it two or three times in a race, has repainted it, made it look very good. This morning, if you hadn't already guessed, I got, man, I am excited about this morning.
I don't know if my two guests are as excited as I am. I am excited. Dave Pulse just got over 85, so Jerry is like, he's through the roof, man. I got Mark Garrow with me and Tim Bowman. Before I jump into get them to introduce themselves and stuff, I'm going to just read a couple of scriptures because I think it kind of relates to this morning what we're going to be talking about.
One is John 12:26. If anyone serves me, he must follow me. And where I am, there will my servants also be. If any one serves me, the Father will honor him. And then also First Peter four ten As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's grace.
I read that this morning because of I think that That speaks volumes of who the two guys in front of me are: Mark and Tim. And I think about one thing when I when I'm Before they introduced themselves, I thought, what do they have in common? Man, they got a lot in common. One, They both have a face for radio. Thank you.
Preaching, brother, tell the truth. That's right. Oh, he talks faster than I do.
Well, yeah, okay.
Now, I'll give you that one. Mark talks fi faster than most people do. That's right. And then also a love for racing. Mm-hmm.
Also the most important part is They're my brothers in Christ, and that's the most important part. And then the fourth thing is they use their, what God puts in front of them. Those two passages I read, God puts people in front of us, God puts situations in front of us, God puts a mission field in front of us. Is how do we use that? How do we recognize that God, you know, that first one we read in John, it talks about where Christ is, you know, his believers also should be.
It tells us that it shouldn't just always be inside the church walls that we are. Of ministry. It shouldn't always just be the ministers or the missionaries or the elders or the deacons. You know what? It's each and every one of us.
And then the one in 1 Peter. God gives us gifts. How are we going to use it?
So this morning, as I said, Mark, introduce yourself and a little bit about your background and really then I'm going to get we're going to kind of carry on with a little bit how God is using you. We're going also because of This coming, I guess, a couple months ago, NASCAR made the announcement that the clash is coming back to Bowman Gray, which is a good thing, which is a great thing. Great thing. And we're going to talk a little bit about that and also the effects of what NASCAR came in last year and some of the improvements they did and what that looks like and stuff.
So Mark, I'm going to give you the floor.
Well, I just I'm a redneck from Vermont. And I always pick on rednecks down south, and they start to get mad. I go, whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm from a state where there's more cows than people. You're automatically a redneck when you're born in Vermont.
But I got. introduced to radio, by being a seven time boxing champion. I don't tell people that's a half a lifetime ago. I tell them that's a half a body ago that I was in boxing.
Somebody interviewed me one day after a fight. He happened to own a radio station. and I happened to go to school with his son. And actually, both of his sons. And I just met with.
Greg McCormick. when I was up in Vermont visiting a sick friend recently. and I had three other there was him and two other broadcasters and me. And when we added up the broadcast experience at that table, the four of us, it was two hundred fifteen years. I mean, these guys were the two guys, other guys were iconic.
One was, you know, 18 time Vermont bro you know, sports broadcaster of the year, that kind of thing.
So I just got into radio. I wasn't even I was going to college, but that's not what I was going to college for. And he said, You ought to come over to the radio station.
So I got bit a little bit by the radio bug. and then a few months after that Somebody walked into the radio station that owned a racetrack twenty miles away and said they needed a new announcer because the current one was an elderly gentleman. He got sick right in the middle of the season and had to step down. And so from that point on, As crazy as it may sound, there was a few little stops in between. But the bottom line is, I go over to this racetrack in Nowhere, Vermont.
It literally plowed out of a cow field. and three and a half years later I'm on the air with Motor Racing Network. And I'm 80 feet. In the air in turn three, doing the bush clash, and then eventually the Daytona 500. And since then, I've been on the air for forty three years at the top level of NASCAR, first with Motor Racing Network and then most of it with the Performance Racing Network, PRN.
And I'm one of two guys still left at the racetrack. And now that Fox is off the air, I'm the only guy that goes to the racetrack pretty much every week that was on the air. Not watching, but on the air when Richard Petty won his two hundredth race. The other person is Mike Joy, a Fox. And of course Mike was in the booth with Barney Hall, I believe was Eli Gold in turn one.
And I was in turn three, and Dave Despain was in turn four. We had Jerry Punch on Pitt Road with. One of my all-time favorites. I mean, absolutely. They called him gentleman Ned Jarrett.
Well, he was a true Southern gentleman, and Ned Jarrett was on Pitt Road as well. And we occasionally had Dick Brooks before he passed away. And so I got a chance to be mentored by Barney Hall. Probably, you know, you can argue that. On the Mount Rushmore of NASCAR announcers, his face is up there somewhere with Ken Squires and a guy like Mike Joy even belongs up there for that matter.
I mean, Mike's been doing it for a long, long time. Yeah, I've been doing it for quite quite some time and I went to my fr I'm si I'm about to turn sixty seven. My dad Took me to the racetrack, and my mom took me to the racetrack when I was one year old. He was hired. He was a professional prize fighter.
He was hired. Because The local track owner was tired of his flagman getting beat up, and he was tired of getting beat up, pushed around after races. And we lived in a little single wide trailer kind of out on that part of town. And he talked my dad into doing it. My dad didn't want to have anything to do with it, thought it was a dog chasing its tail.
He didn't care about it at all, but he was paid. He was getting paid $40 for 40 hours worth of work each week. And the guy said, I'll pay you $75 a night. My dad said, sign me up. And then he said, Your wife wants to make some extra money.
I'll pay her $25 a night to score the cars, which they used to do on the little legal pad. And they'd write like maniacs. It was kind of fun to watch that.
So I've literally been around racing my entire life. And so it's kind of interesting how it turned out. I never meant to be in radio, and I never meant to be a NASCAR broadcaster. And yet, 43 years down the road, here we are. All right, Tim.
Before I turn it over to Tim, I'm going to remind everybody: this is a call-in show. 866-348-7884. Again, 866-368-8484-8486. 348-7884. If you have any questions for Mark or Tim, or just want to make a comment, Tim.
Well, my name's Tim Bowman. Wow, that's a good story of Mark. I mean, there's a lot of things I didn't know. I learned something new out of him. But again, I used to be a lot smaller.
Yeah, really. But yeah, I've been in racing for a long time. And yeah, I didn't, I was at the track at five years old at Bowman Gray Stadium when Richard Petty won his hunting race. I was there and that was a great thing for me. And again, my favorite place was right at the flag stand.
And I did not want to race. at all on Beauma Gray. I saw that big building behind me and I says, That's where I want to be. up in the tower. because that was r where everything was done.
And you got a commercial. Yep, fix it. Go to break. Again, call in show 866-348-7884. We'll be back with Tim's story.
And again, if you have any questions, give us a call. You're listening to the Truth Network and truthnetwork.com. Gonna save all my money Welcome back to Christian Car Guy Radio. I'm Jerry Mathis, Race, Body Shop and Record Service. And in the studio with me is Mark Garrow and Tim Bowman.
And Tim was just giving us a little snapshot of. of what's going on in his life, a little bit of background, and I'm going to kick it back to him.
Okay, well, again, I was sitting in the stands when I was five years old watching. Richard Petty won its 100th race at Beaumont Gray and I never did want to get on the track. Never did. I wanted to be up in that tower because when you look at the tower, you see everything. And for some odd reason, I started, when I got a little older, I started talking to the people that were running.
Does a scoring, and I said, you know what, that's what I need to do. I need to be a scorer.
So again, they were s I I I don't know, I forgot the people, uh, j say ring. Uh, his name was Ring. Last name was Ring. Uh h that's the first taste that I got was scoring. And uh I I don't know, I just just I kept coming every year, and they said, Well, let's put you in score.
And so I scored in my first race car later on. Um And uh They they said, Yeah, we we need you to do other things.
So When I was a little older, I finally got to be at a track and the first. track I went to was Rockingham. And uh And they wanted me to score the big number three. And I'm like, you want me to score with this car? And I said, yeah, so I was like a backup scorer.
But again, that meant a lot because they were, at the time, there was nothing called a computer. We had to do everything by hand. Uh and that that was kind of hard. I mean it was it was so here I was I was scoring number three and for a backup and again uh the regular score yeah everybody can everybody's not perfect. The one that was scoring the car, yeah, she missed lap, so I had it.
Because you had to do each lap. Every time you go around, you had to look at the clock. It had a clock up here, and it went around all the time. And one, two, three, four, five, and on down. And so I was scoring.
So, again, I had it, and she didn't.
So, therefore, at the end of the day, They finally got the scoring right.
So, again, that's what they had to do. But again, um, You know, it was something I got into it and all of a sudden wound up over at Bowman Gray. But I did Cup for over 25 years. and I was in the scoring stand and uh And it was just real something because I was in the big time. I got to be around people like Mark Garrell.
I saw Mark Garrell sometimes in the garage area and things like that. And I'm like, man, this is the big time. I like this very much. The funny part about it all back then was the fact that when I was going to pick up. and carry myself down to Daytona.
and get involved in cup racing there. Are you out of your mind? And I thought, this thing's about to take off. I want to get on the bottom floor. Everybody else looked at as like, you know, a bunch of tobacco chewing fools down there just going in circles.
And next thing you know, ten years later, those same people are begging you for tickets and begging you for garage passes and I was very lucky to come in at a time when Kale Yarlborough was still winning, David Pearson, Richard Petty, not as much as they used to, but they were still winning. And so I had a chance to see that era, then the Earnhardt and Waltrip era. And I'm like you, I'd walk around the garage area sometime and go, wow, this is really a privilege. This is really kind of cool. Oh, yeah.
We got a call from Rachel in Indiana. Good morning, Rachel. Good morning. What can we do for you? And thank you for calling.
I am a wiggle. Yes, you're all there. Yeah, uh I just mean some prayer to get me a car.
Well, we can have people for rides and stuff and. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. Have you? Let me just suggest something.
Have you gone on the Christian Car Guy website and saw where it has Jesus Labor of Love and link? It has an application there. But being in Indiana makes it a little more difficult, but maybe if you get that information to Robbie and Scott, they may be able to make some connections in your. in your community that may be something available.
Okay. I think I talked to Robbie before he went on vacation. Oh, okay.
Well, then he's probably already got it. Got it in the process. But right now, what you're asking for is just prayer. Yes.
Well, that's what we're going to do right now. I'll just have a quick prayer for you. And you know what?
Sometimes we don't understand. And I'm going to talk about that after I get you off the line and stuff, how important it is, that ministry and stuff. Let's pray. Dear God, right now I just lift up Rachel. I lift up her situation.
And Lord, I know for one, it's just so.
Something I take for granted. I know that I walk outside these doors and I go out there and I can crank up a vehicle and go down the road. And Lord, sometimes we kind of. Lose sight of when you don't have that means of transportation, the hardship that it brings. Right now, I just pray that you'll bring somebody into Rachel's life that they'll continue to help her get to places she needs to go, but also bring somebody in her life that'll be able to provide transportation and a vehicle for her.
Lord, I just most importantly, Lord, I just pray that she understands that you're in. that she's in your watch, that that you have this, that you're going to continue to minister to her. And I just pray that also that she knows to lean into you and go to you for those needs. And again, I just pray that God will put somebody in your path, Rachel. And I just thank you for you calling in.
Thank you for your love of Jesus Christ. And most importantly, just thank you for your humbleness. In your son's name, I pray. Amen. Amen.
Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, Rachel. You know, this is not my show, but this seems like the natural place to jump in. I had a car and I donated it to the Christian Car Guy Show.
That car wound up with a woman in Concord, North Carolina. Got a chance to meet her. Her name was Sunshine. You cannot ever forget. I mean, this woman was all about Just total sunshine.
And she had a vehicle and had gone through some rough times, couldn't fix it. I donated it. She got on her feet. She got her car fixed, and she redonated it back to the Christian car guy. Wow.
I know. That's just an awesome story. And again, this is a call in 866-348-7884. We'll be back in just a moment. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.
Here come the Dodge Boys. Those good guys are back. With a look in their eye. They mean business this time. Their deals are great.
Now's the time to buy. See the Dodge Boys now. For a new kind of deal.
Now, here's a car partner you just can't beat. Coronet's the name, and it's a real family treat. Feature for a feature, Dodge Coronet's got more. What we call standard, others charge. Welcome back to Christian Car Guy Radio.
Again, I'm Jerry Mathis, Ray's Body Shop and Record Service. A little bit of follow-up from the call, and a little bit of follow-up from Mark's comments. Jesus' labor of love, a great ministry that Robbie had a vision that God put it on his heart. And I tell you what, it is really between Robbie and Scott. The biggest thing that maybe they do, it's important providing transportation.
Sometimes we give cars, sometimes we just help. Facilitate them getting cars repaired. But probably the most important piece of that whole puzzle is: Scott and Robbie pray with everybody who they come in contact with through that ministry. And that, man, that is just powerful and stuff.
So if you would like to, you know, I always say, I don't want you to take money from your local church, but if you have a little money or something, or you want to see a way to be able to help somebody, go to Christian Car Guy Ready. Or you have a vehicle sitting in the yard that isn't really being used, and instead of paying the insurance and all the stuff that goes with it, you can donate it, take it as a tax deduction, and it works for everybody. It becomes a win for the person donating the car. It becomes a win for the Christian Car Guy. It becomes a win for the person the car eventually goes into the hands of.
So it's a great. I've always told. I mean, apparently, this car had good mojo because we pass it off to Sunshine, Sunshine, you know, and she goes, you know, it was a, she thought originally that it was pink for some reason, didn't really want it. And it was, it was, it was an old, it was a Buick Le Sabre, like, you know, like the typical blue, you know, I call it the grandpa car. And, but those cars would go on and on.
I mean, they just wouldn't just keep on getting it, you know. And so it wasn't necessarily Sunshine's style. But she had a reliable car. And like seven or eight months later, she was in real estate. Things started picking up.
She could get her car, which happened to be a BMW, I think, fixed, and she donated it back. And so I believe this car has now been, it's in the third hands from what I'm told from Scott. I believe Scott told me that that person got on their feet, got another vehicle, and then donated it.
So you never know. You never know. You never know. And I'm glad you said that because, of course, you can go on and see where you can donate. And if you're a repair facility in our listening audience, if you can hear my voice, I mean, if you have a tire shop, a body shop, a mechanical shop, man, get in touch with us, send us an email that you can be a resource for, you know, we don't want you to do things for free, but we want you to be able to somebody that we can refer that's going to look after somebody.
And also there's times where. It's how much you This is one of those things I hate this saying, but it's true sometimes. And this is one of those incidents where it is true you can never out give God. I know I'm in business and I do a lot of stuff, and I just see how God blesses me. And it may not always be the dollars, but it just blesses me.
And I think, Mark. By being able to meet Sunshine, I mean, I think the blessing was, man, is that not powerful? She was off the hook. I mean, she was just. Oozing Jesus up through her veins.
It just kind of bored out of her. And I don't think they called her Sunshine because she never stopped smiling. And that was the truth, man. She was always smiling throughout the process. And somewhere out there, I've got a picture of me in Sunshine standing by the car.
And I've got to dig that out somewhere.
Somebody's got it. Maybe Scott, maybe Robbie has it. But, you know, Tim, and this is something that. I'm sure that you've run into as well. And I try to tell people all the time: you know, I do a lot of volleyball reffing now.
So not only the reffing thing, not only the racing thing, but matter of fact, volleyball season starts on Monday. And here we go again. I did over 100 matches last year. Wow. And that's kind of going to be.
as I step away from NASCAR at the end of this year, that's going to be something that obviously is going to be able to occupy some time, and I enjoy doing it. It's a way to serve. I mean, there's you don't make money as a referee. But what I try to tell people, and I'm sure you've run into this, What if they don't go to church? What if nobody's been able to testify?
to these people. But you're up there serving them. You're being kind to them. You're being courteous to them. You're trying to show them the love of God without talking yet about the love of God.
You may be the only Bible somebody ever sees. That's right. By just what you're doing. Again, you're planting a seed. And again, it says in the Bible about planting a seed and letting it grow.
And again, when they're around other people, You can tell. You can tell. And when they received Jesus Christ, that's all it is right there. Because again, that means that they were growing. and they can still grow.
And you and they if they get into the w word and and Again, that's the first thing you need to do, is get your Bible. And read the Bible because, again, from cover to cover, and that's something that if you put your mind under that. You've got knowledge. And Get into a good church. I'm at wherever you are.
I'm at Find a Good Church. I mean, there's plenty of churches out there, but again, you get a good church. And you can grow in it. Absolutely. Bible studies.
Yeah. Yeah. I have one on Tuesday mornings at Cagney's down there in Midway, Cagney's kitchen. And Pastor David Beverly from Triad Journey Church has been the guy leading this. I asked him to it years ago, and he said, Mark.
Don't be put out. If it only lasts three to six months, in September, we'll be 11 years meeting every Tuesday. And now, of course, Stew Everson. I'm going to tell you a story about that right now. Yeah, he's still mad at me.
He's still mad at me. Yeah, yeah. He's still mad. Back uh 11 years ago, since it's been going 11 years, I invited Mark to I have a a group of men that meet at now it's Omega House in Winston on Peters Creek, and we have Some mornings, anywhere from 15 to 20 men that meet. Tim is one of those men that meet with us and stuff.
But uh I invited Martin to come, and this is when we were before Cloverdale Kitchen closed. I think it was Cloverdale, he went. And He said, I really like that. And I said, Well, good. I hope you come back.
And he goes, No, but I think God's laying it on my heart to start one at my church.
So I was looking forward to having Mark part of our group, but also I'm excited about the fact that he went out and took the initiative. And my point is. there's groups out there and if you're a man You know, sometimes we don't feel comfortable being aware of that. We need a safe space. Right.
We need a safe space. And it's the same thing for women, right? There are just times when either the timing or the topic. I'd rather be speaking to a woman. And there's times for men, the time and the topic.
It's like I don't really want to discuss this in an open forum. I just want other Again, important the next word, Christian men.
So the iron is sharpening iron, or somebody is going to. deliver some truth to you or some advice to you that comes from the Bible, like you were saying, Tim. I think I remember Paul Harvey one time they made a big deal and they were kind of beating up on him one point about being a Christian. And he said, Well, for a second, just forget about being a Christian. You're all out there spending millions of dollars on these self-help books.
He holds up a Bible. He said, This is the best self-help book you'll ever see. Go to Proverbs. And read Proverbs. And he goes, You'll never lie, you'll never steal, you never cheat.
It'll teach you how to be a decent Christian human being. And so that that book is You know, I remember my my father-in-law Don't ever say to him, Well, I believe or I think, just show me where it is in that book, and I'll follow you to the end of the earth. But don't tell me what you believe or what you think. Just the answer is in that book. It may take a little bit of looking, a little bit of digging, but the answer is right there.
Yeah, and if you're sitting there and you're hearing these conversations, you're thinking, Well, there's nobody. I don't know of a small group that's meeting in my community or in my church or my group of friends.
Well, you know what that's telling you? You need to be the one to start it. That's right, absolutely. You need to be the seed. Right.
Because again, if you say, hey, let's meet together. And pretty soon they'll say, Well, let's meet next next week. And you never know. You might have to know how God connects dots, right? I mean, my daughter wrecks a car and I wind up meeting Jerry.
Do I think that 10, 11, 12, 15 years down the road, gosh, it's, oh my gosh, how long has it been? It is, wow, she's 30 now. Wow, it's been a long time. But. you all of a sudden you look up and how did we become such close because we're Christian brothers.
And somehow it God took a weird way of connecting those dots. And I'm just absolutely at times mesmerized. by how God does it. Uh I Pastor David Beverly leads my Bible study. He is the pastor of Triad Journey Church.
And It was, I'm trying to remember the, it used to be a different church, but anyway, bottom line, I go looking for a soccer field. And they wind up with a church in the end. Wow. And you go like, how in the world did that happen? I was looking for a soccer field.
They were nomads for 15 years, never had a church. How did that happen? God had a connection. God connected the dots. We're back in a moment.
Again, his call in 866-348-7884. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Gonna save all my money Welcome back to Christian Car Guy Radio. I tell you what, great morning this morning. I just wanted to take just about a minute to discuss something a couple weeks ago that I discussed on the air, and that was a little bit about the claim process for repairs.
When you've been in an auto accident and stuff, I'm a body shop and I deal with this every day. If you've been in a wreck or an accident, you probably have not dealt with it every day.
Well, at least I hope you haven't dealt with it every day. And so a lot of the things have got people kind of shook up and worried. And the reason I wanted to run over a couple things again and just mention. Two weeks ago, after doing the show, I had so many people give me a call or stop by because they had. Just following up on what I was talking about.
And one of the things that's most prevalent. Estimate that's out there anymore with the insurance companies. If you have been around or any kind of facility or any kind of workforce, you see that workforces are shrinking.
Well, these insurance companies no longer have this army of field adjusters that are out there writing estimates and stuff.
Now you either got a couple options: one is you do a photo claim. Or you do a DRP, which is we're a direct repair facility for all the major insurance companies. That's where they'll electronically send us a folder and we do the claim and settle it. And basically, you don't talk to anybody in the insurance company. Or there is a couple of companies that still will send if you ask for it somebody out to look at your car.
But the only thing that gets everybody upset and worried is when you're sending that photo claim, and then they're going around and they're taking. That photo claim, they just see that number and they will send them a check with the estimate, and it's $2,000. I'm just giving you a round number. And everybody you talk to says it's gonna cost $4,000. The vehicle owner is in a panic mode at that point.
And I keep telling him, and what I try to. convey is that that just gets the claim started. Don't worry about if they didn't sent and said it's going to cost $5 to do a $10,000 repair. It doesn't really matter. At that point, don't go out and waste your time getting tons of estimates and getting all this muddy in the water.
Take that estimate that they sent you. To a shop that you choose to repair your vehicle, because you can choose any shop you want to. Nobody can dictate where you have to go. And that shop will be able to, if it's a reputable shop and has the means to repair it, they'll contact that insurance company and make sure that your car is repaired correctly. The biggest piece on insurance, and I tell people, is making sure you find a body shop.
that will Look after your best interest because sometimes it's some insurance companies that's tougher than others, but just don't get all. all torqued up over the fact that they're sending you a check and an estimate that you don't think is going to repair it. And as I said last the other week, we have a brochure at Ray's Body Shop and Record Service. You can stop by and be glad to give it to you. Or if you want to Just send me an email or a call.
I'll mail you one, but it's what it is, it just has a little pamphlet that tells some of that stuff. But the biggest part is inside that pamphlet, it has an accident information. Page where you get all the information when you're at an accident. Because I'm going to tell you right now, if you've been in an accident, stories change when everybody leaves.
So I always say, make sure you get all that information. And also, another thing that people asked me about in the past couple of weeks that I mentioned. a comprehensive claim compared to a collision claim. Comprehensive claim insurance points.
So it's pretty, pretty important if you have the opportunity to have a comp claim instead of a collision claim. And what defines that is, let's say you hit a There's a deer. A deer, that's a moving thing. You couldn't avoid it. That caused the accident.
If you're going down the road and those recaps off of a tractor and trailer come off. Are you talking about my whole experience? Again, he's fixed the front of my truck three times, deer once, and the belt off an 18-wheeler the second time. And the question they're going to ask you is: was that tire moving? And I tell people, think that through if the tire is moving, because the worst thing you can say is, I'm not sure.
Or, I'm really not sure. All I know is I hit it.
Well, at that point, that turned into a collision claim instead of a comp claim. The whole key to it is that that has to be moving. If you hit a trash can that blew off or something, it needs to be moving because of its stationary. Always think deer, whatever you hit is a deer, and it's moving, it's jumping. Yeah, because that's just think dear.
Yeah, absolutely, because that's the one that'll get you.
So in other words, I if that that a rim comes off of a tractor trailer, okay, and it's lying in the road and you run over it, Collision claim because you said it was just lying there.
Now, if that thing came off and it's rolling, or another vehicle came by and put it in the room. Pushed it or the wind of other fields. If it's movement, if there's movement, it's comprehensive.
Now, see, on the way back from Nashville, I was driving overnight back, hit a rabbit at one o'clock in the morning. I got gas to the sheets and bristles. This is an awesome story. Right.
So I hit this rabbit. I'm talking to my sister. She wanted to make sure I was okay. I'm so worried about you driving overnight. I said, Leave me alone.
I do this all the time. And so all of a sudden, we're talking, rabbit jumps out. I didn't even get a chance to pump the rake. Bam. That was it.
And So I drive on home. Right, this 1:30 in the morning, get home at 4:30 in the morning, wake up at 7:30 so I can do my Tuesday morning Bible study. And all of a sudden, down at Cagney's kitchen, Uh The girl walks in to our Bible study. Does anybody here own a Toyota Camry that's over? Yeah.
There's a rabbit in the grill. It's still alive. I go, what? They went out. And pride.
out of my grill, a full size rabbit. I mean a big rabbit. It had gone into my grill, broke it and went in sideways, so it was squashed face first looking down the road.
So it had been doing like eighty five, ninety miles an hour down seventy seven, right? Pulled it out of the grill, not a broken bone, nothing. Oh, man. I mean, that rabbit just hippity-hopped right back into the woods again. God was looking at me.
Had a little PTSD going on, a little bit of shock at the point, but yeah.
So, yeah, I brought it up and Jerry's brother Dale. I said, Do I need another grill? No, he broke it just right. We just pull it back in place. Nobody will ever know.
And that's so. But I took that rabbit. That rabbit started its life in Bristol, Tennessee, and wound up in the woods somewhere around here. You relocated him, got a relocation program. Oh, my goodness.
Real quick, okay, Tim. You involved with Bowman Gray and. Yeah. NASCAR BIN is coming back. What does that mean to the racetrack?
Well, f first off, you know, again, he's Mark is from Vermont, you know, and I am from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, proud to be a hometown boy, and I'm a pure redneck. You know what? I'm going to vouch for that.
Okay. Because, again, I've been around cars all my life, and it's just. Uh I don't know. But again, Bowman Great. You're talking about Bowman Great.
What was the question again, sir? I said, okay, NASCAR coming back. It's coming back. What do you think? Yeah.
Oh, the clash? Yeah. Well, I'm glad the clash is coming back. Matter of fact, I wasn't the first one, and I knew we were going to have it again. I mean, I just like, hey, we're going to do this next year.
You know, and all of a sudden, big announcement.
Well, you know, okay, fine. To me, it wasn't. I agree. I knew what was going on since I'd been around the NASCAR family for a long time. But again, Yeah, it's big for Winston Silent because again major Our our guys that are coming up in the series Yeah, great time for them because again Well if you didn't raise Bubb and Gray You hadn't raced no track.
A quarter of a mile flat track. That's racing. And a lot of people say, well, yeah, it's just like driving around I-40. No, no, it's not. Because again, there's a lot of competition in there, and the closer the cars are, yeah.
It's going to be exciting. It's going to be exciting for sure. Mark, final words from you.
Well, I tell you what, man, it's great to have that back in Christian in Winston-Sale. But folks, just think about serving. Does it mow a lawn? Cook somebody a meal. There's all kinds of ways to serve that don't cost you anything but your time and your talent.
Just think about that. I agree. And the passage I read in Peter is, you know what, God gave us gifts. God gave us gifts of talent. Use them for the kingdom of God.
And I know Mark does a lot of mowing. And you know what my slogan is? I don't promise the best job, just the best price. There you go. Free.
All right. And Tim's on the radio. He listened to the Truth Network. Truth Network.com
