The Packers dismantled the Titans 30 to 14, with Malik Willis leading the team in rushing and the defense coming through with eight sacks. The team's win was a result of a strong performance from their backup quarterback, who has done his job and given the team a chance to salvage the season. The Packers will face the Vikings next, who are a good team and will be a tough opponent.

Wolves, streaming September 27th on Apple TV Plus. We did our. Good afternoon, everybody. Welcome into the Winklerverse. After a Packers victory over the Tennessee Titans, I am Bart Winkler in the Dan Cheney bedroom studios. Well, this is not Dan Cheney. Dan Cheney's my insurance guy. And he can be yours too.

Check out Dan Cheney and get switched over. But he sponsors the YouTube stream and this is not his bedroom. I am in here as I am watching some of the afternoon games today. And getting excited for the Sunday night game as well.

Like I've said, Red Zone, it's a lot of stimulation. You like to just kick back and watch a game. This Packer game, you could kind of focus a little bit more on the Red Zone. As the Packers dismantled the Titans 30 to 14. In a game that was maybe similar to last week's game. Where they were always going to win this game once they got to a certain point. There was some real question about if the Packers could win this game or not.

I had kind of gotten talked into that they probably wouldn't win this game. Because the Tennessee Titans, there's a good team in there. It's like the Titans are this body. Okay, and it's a strong body or it should be like it's a healthy body. But the head, the brain, makes the body do dumb shit. So it's like, what's this knife?

Instead of cutting a sandwich, it stabs itself in the stomach. It's just the quarterback is the brain. Will Levis is bad. And you knew at some point in this game, Will Levis would give you an opportunity to have a pick six against him. And he did that. And the Packers did not drop it.

Jair just kind of standing still covering himself and then attacking at the best possible moment and a pick six. And that was probably when the game was over. I don't know when Wayne threw the dagger, but that was probably for me when I thought, okay, they are not going to lose this football game. Now, like they did last week.

They edge you for two hours before you can actually be like, yes, celebrate. Because they weren't they weren't going to lose. Now, the offense got a little dumb and, you know, Malik missed a couple of throws.

Or maybe he was throwing the ball when he shouldn't have or throwing the ball on plays that let's dial it back a little bit. And so if you started to get a little bit nervous, I mean, I don't know that I really ever got nervous. I got nervous 16 10 when the Colts scored last weekend about, okay, here comes some bullshit. But this I don't think it was even close. And if that's something that you did experience, you probably didn't.

You are probably just trying to engage. Online, as if you're some source of Packer fandom that we need to take seriously. That's a shot that no one will understand. But the Packers like this was again, they won this game. They won this game. They won it early and they just kind of had to play out the string.

Now, why did they win this game? Well, for the second week in a row, Malik Willis went in there and didn't just not suck. But he was good.

As good as you can ask a backup quarterback to be. He's pretty he's writing that like teams haven't seen a lot of them, but you can't use that excuse at the Titans. Like some people were saying, well, now now the Packers have Malik Willis. There's tape of Malik Willis. You know who's got two years of tape on Malik Willis? The team they played today.

If anybody should have been stopping him, it's the Tennessee Titans who had this guy four weeks ago. Three. It was in their building. Just recently.

Not too long ago. And so they knew what they were going to get out of them. But maybe they didn't because if they had this guy, he was the better quarterback today. He would be starting over Will Levis. Will Levis is bad. Will Levis is bad. And Brian Callahan, the Titans coach, knows it.

And he is mad about it. What's he going to do? They can't they can't go like. I mean, they could Bryce Young and go to Andy Dalton. But you're going to Mason Rudolph. And it's not like the Titans are trying to salvage anything.

You know, the season is washing away. Again, when I say the Titans, I don't they're not a good team, but they've got parts of them that with an capable quarterback can win football games and should be winning football games. A better quarterback maybe wins this football game. A better quarterback certainly doesn't lose the game against the Bears. And a better quarterback, you know, it's not a one score game against the Jets. So really, I think there's a handful of quarterbacks in the league where you can put on the Titans. And they could be a three and 0 football team, maybe two and one. The Packers defense really did come through today.

Will Levis or not Will Levis. So maybe it would have taken an above average quarterback. But the Packers defense very, very, very good.

We the vehicle owners manual for important feature limitations and information. The defense was so good. Eight sacks. Watching the game with my mother in law and I had to explain to her why I started cheering against the sacks as I was playing the Packers and Packers D and fantasy, which I'm usually not that guy. I'm usually not like, well, I can't I can't have Taji Spears get five yards here because that I'm usually not. But the Packers sacks were getting so like, all right, stop the count.

This is a lot here, but it's great. I mean, most sacks they've had in 19 years. I'm going to lose that week anyway. That league anyway, so I don't. I'll retract that one, Tim.

Maybe you can chop all this off and post. But 19 years. They haven't had that. Oh, Tim's employer, by the way.

I need. They weren't able to show the Bears game. Some people in Milwaukee area like to see the Bears game.

As the Bears fans can also receive. They tweeted that CBS big network gave them the Vikings game. I think they were lying. I think the affiliates choose.

I have to look into that more. I have not conversed with anybody about it at this point, but I saw that tweet because I went to. We're trying to figure out because some of the family's Bears fans on the in-laws side. Why is this game not on?

I think they pulled the fast one. But why would you show Vikings Texans? Also, the Vikings. Shit, dude.

I don't. I mean, you beat the Texans and you have something to compare it to. We think the Bears are bad. Texans just got by him. Well, then the Vikings blew them out. I mean, blew them out Packers of the Vikings next week, which is going to bring me into the Malik Willis Jordan love aspect of this that I'll get to in a minute with the defense, though, we're going to start to see Jeff Halfley's defense. And really, the thing that's great about this defense is there's a quarterback that should not beat you. And so he didn't beat you.

That's all we're asking somewhere along the line. Rookie quarterbacks, young quarterbacks against the Packers defense became rookie pitchers against the Brewers. Oh, it's this guy's first appearance in the bigs.

I hear seven innings to hit ball. No earned me. It always went that way.

I kind of think it still does. They can't shake that one or like the Bucks. You know, the Utah Jazz or Detroit Pistons or the Charlotte Hornets have never had a good enough. This is the most proficient they've ever shot from three. And they have had twenty seven threes.

Never have had that before. Well, they do it against the Bucks for the Packers. It was letting rookie quarterbacks slice them up. You remember the stat line from a year ago where there's a quarterback that just, you know, played Green Bay Green Bay ended up winning the game. But there's a quarterback that did so well against the Packers last year that it really started to have people, you know, reconsider what they thought of him. He was twenty three to thirty six, three hundred twelve yards, two touchdowns, sixty five percent completion and one hundred and ten rating. It was Bryce Young. The last good game that Bryce Young has had and maybe ever will have. Was against a Joe Berry defense.

So if anything. That is what's satisfactory about that. Where did the sacks come from today? I think of our a sack was amazing. I mean, he just busted through the line. He added a half sack to that total with Edron Cooper, Quay Walker, Isaiah McDuffie, all getting half sacks, a lot of meat at the quarterback kind of things. Devante Wyatt with two sacks. Haven't seen that from an inside interior lineman since Kenny Clark a few years ago. Preston Smith, who I think everybody got pissed at early because he was offsides. He came and had two sacks. Lucas Van Ness with a sack. Lucas Van Ness with a picture of basically crawling on top of Will Levis to get a football after they knocked it free. Again, the interceptions.

Jair had his. Xavier McKinney. Now three straight weeks with interceptions. You look at Xavier McKinney. You look at Malik Willis.

You look at Josh Jacobs. I mean, depending on what we're counting the offseason as. These are pretty good additions that Brian Gudekins was able to pick up to get this team to two and one. When Jordan Love went down in a game that really they probably should have won.

When you look at it, it doesn't hurt as bad because Philly found a way to make the Saints miserable today. But when Jordan Love went down, who in their right mind thought with no Jordan Love, the Packers would be two and one at this point? Two and one, even though the Colts and the Titans didn't appear to be superior opponents.

They were two and one. Malik Willis has led them to two really nice games. And Malik's not making mistakes.

That's a big thing, too. He's not making mistakes. Game one, 12 of 14, 122 touchdown, six for 41 rushing.

Game two, 13 to 19, 202 touchdown and a rushing touchdown of which he was six for 73. You get this backup quarterback in there and we may see Jordan Love this week. The Packers, Matt Lafleur really likes being like, I'm not going to tell you, you have to prepare for bowl. He really likes that.

It's a little alarming, but he really, really likes that. But when you have a backup quarterback, my kind of thought on that is you can still salvage a season with a backup quarterback if it's no more than four games. If it starts to be more than four games, that means a backup quarterback for a reason. If it starts to be more than four games, you might be in trouble. What you hope for and pray for is that in those four games, you go two and two.

If you can just get some 500 record, that would be good. So if Jordan Love continues to miss time, we still have a couple of games that I guess under that theory, we could give back. We can lose the next couple of games. I'm not saying that the Packers should. I'm certainly not saying that I want them to.

I mean, why would I? But he's done his job. I think Malik Willis to this point has done his job, which again is all you can ask for. Now, with the Packers next game, you've got the Vikings coming up and the Rams. Rams on the road. I think you think the Rams can be beatable even with a Malik Willis.

After that Cardinals, Texans, Jordan Love needs to come back by that. OK, the Vikings game, though, suddenly this takes on massive significance. Not that it won anyway as their first divisional game of the year, but the Vikings are good. They are good. A lot of years they would win games and I would say, guys, they're not good. I don't know how they're winning, but they're not good, especially the defense. Very bad. You're fooling yourself.

It's it's an illusion. This Vikings team is good. They got a quarterback who's got a beard that looks exactly like mine. That's all Sam Darnold needed. Look, there was pre-beard Bart. That guy floundered in TV. Radio beard Bart. Success on the radio. Look at that national show. In his bedroom still at four o'clock on a Sunday, breaking down the pack. Got to get it in.

Got to get it off my chest. Got to get the hundred fifty views on YouTube. Like and subscribe, by the way, to the channel.

Like and subscribe to the channel. The Packers will try to figure out if Jordan Love's going to be able to play. If he can play, I want to see him. If he can play, I want to see him. Obviously, don't risk the long term problems, but if he can play.

I don't know. I don't know where we need to talk about 90 percent, 80 percent. You're going to need Jordan Love to beat the Vikings. So this is the approach I will use. If you don't think Jordan Love's ready, then just lose with Malik Willis. But if it's going to be the next week, if you think Jordan Love's a week away. Then I don't know, because I think you're going to need this win. Like I said, Minnesota is good and you're not going to see them again until the end of the season.

All right. So you need wins against me. You need tiebreakers against them and they're not going to have that rough of a time coming up, folks. Let's say Minnesota beats the Packers.

That would put him at 4-0. They've already they're coming off wins against the Texans and the Niners. And the toughest part of their schedule might already be out of the way. You want to know Minnesota's schedule? Green Bay, Jets. Lions, Rams, Colts, Jags, Titans, Bears, Cardinals, Falcons, Bears, Seahawks, Packers, Lions.

Outside of us, and I will say us because I think that we are great. Outside of us, the two toughest opponents, I think the Vikings have already played them. So this could be a long and tough stretch to catch up to them.

So like. It's not a must win and it's not a can't lose, but it would be nice to get this win. Certainly. All things considered, it would be really, really nice to get this win. So if Jordan Love can play, I would want him to play. If like the Rams were next and then the Vikings, I don't know.

It seems like he's close. Apparently the Packers knew on Friday night. I think it was pretty clear he wasn't going to play. Plus, the world got treated to a Malik Willis revenge game, which we so desperately deserve here in the year of 2024. So Packers again get the win 30 to 14. Willis led the team in rushing. And then it was not just Jacobs who was fine.

14 to 43. I think Emmanuel Wilson looked like the better back. Not only did he have 50 yards rushing, he also had that great run after the catch and scored a touchdown, which was really nice. The Packers lone receiving touchdown of the day. Watson made an impact after going home for last week. Two for 67. Jaden Reed, four for 50. Tucker Kraft dropped a gimme, but was two for 14.

Not much from Wicks or Dobbs. I mean, it's already going to be like this where there's going to be some receivers that are more involved than others. It's already going to be like that with Jordan Love. That's a little more pronounced when Malik Willis is the ball and is only throwing 16, 17 times a game.

So that's just going to go as it as it goes. Again, the Packers, two and one. They're looking up at Minnesota. We'll see if Detroit joins them.

They got one in the desert right now. Chicago, I don't know what the deal was. All they had to do was run the football. Packers ran the ball 53 times against the Colts. They ran the ball 53 times against the Colts, averaged 4.9 yards a carry. Somehow, Chicago only rushed the ball half of that and Caleb Williams threw 52 times. Caleb Williams, they just need to relax. Like last year with Jordan Love, we weren't trying to prove anything. Let's just see if he's good. Do the Bears need to show you that Caleb's great? I mean, he's going to lead the league in passing probably this week.

But they lost. And a bunch of those yards came on a hail Mary to DJ Moore before the end of the half that was one yard short of a touchdown. But the Bears, that strategy, and this may be the screw up, is you give them a quarterback that I think can do well. Justin Fields is 3-0, guys. But the coach is dumb and the offensive coordinator is dumb.

And you can't keep doing that with rookie quarterbacks. Got a voicemail from the Sean O'Connell from earlier in the week. 402915BART.

402915BART on the Carl's Place voicemail line. Here's the Sean O'Connell. Hey Bart, it's Sean. Just listening, watching to the Winklerverse with Dr.

Disposable Income Plastic Surgeon in disguise, Tim Shea. And you were talking about road rage and what an asshole you have been driving. I just want you to know that I have listened to you for a while and when you have described the zipper lane and how it is to be used and how it is very contentious, I was one of those people who would rather see you die in a fiery car wreck than let you merge.

Because fuck you, you should have seen the goddamn sign and I don't give a goddamn if you've got a minivan full of soccer players who are under the age of 12. Lately, I have been letting people in. I have been letting off the gas. Just let them in. I have been waving people over.

Wave them in. I have been smiling as I've done it and it is because of you, Bart Winkler. I have made that choice and you have been the change in the world we all want to see.

Thank you so much. How many lives have I saved? Wow, Sean, Jesus. Packers fans, the crazy sons of bees that you are, there's one of them, did real good to show it in Nashville. Many members of the Winklerverse there, Tony in Texas, Brandon formerly of Shorewood, my parents. My parents are sitting sky high. OK. And then they get a they sent me this picture in the like second end of the beginning of the third quarter, beginning of third quarter. They got a great view. This is like right on the sideline or right in the end zone, maybe 20 rows up. OK, so you what are you doing?

You just go check it out. Fans were leaving. Titans fans were leaving the game. They were leaving the game. Several people said that away fans are better than home fans.

Yeah. A Packer crowd, if we could get the kind of crowds that go to road games to home games, Lambeau would be unconscious. It would be the toughest place to play. I got my season ticket thing this week. I'm number thirty nine thousand on it. When I get those season tickets, I'm going to be seventy four. If I use those season tickets, I'm going to be miserable.

I'm going to not want to be there, but I'm going to go because I feel like it's an obligation to go. And how many people are doing that right now? These Packer fans that go to Nashville, Indy, Florida, California, Texas, wherever. They want to be there. They have spent a good amount of money.

They have taken time off of work. OK, this is the trip they plan for to be there. Of course, the crowd's going to be better. Of course it is. So when you're like a season ticket holder for the Green Bay Packers, you're worried about trying to, you know, make your money back. This is insane. I got to sell some games, which more people are doing, which allows the crowds to be worse. Packer away fans have always been better than home fans, and it's always going to continue to be that way. As long as we put ourselves on the season ticket list and then begrudgingly go.

I don't know what the solution is. I mean, I want to be on the list because I like getting the letter every year, but I don't want to go when I'm 70. What do I think I'm magically going to get it at 41? I don't even know that I want to go to eight games a year now. Watch the red zone.

Packers get the win. We'll find out about Jordan Love. Narveson, if he missed that last kick, he was probably going to lose his job. Do we agree? Do we agree that he kicked for his job today? I think that I think that he kicked for he kicked for his job. The kickoff rule. What a waste of time.

So stupid. I'll shit on that a bunch this week on the infinity sports network where you can find me 9 p to 1 a central time, including 1250 Milwaukee and five other stations across Wisconsin and into the Winkler verse with episodes throughout the week as well. Between the picks and then random Tim Shea. Jumping's I'm Bart Winkler. Thanks for coming into the Winkler verse. Enjoy the rest of your football Sunday. Go pack, go.
