Everybody, welcome into the Winkler verse. We already went live after one big win today. Pop, pop, pop. Let's do it again. Pop, pop, pop.
Let's do it again. The greatest Wisconsin sports day since the Bucks won the title in July of 2021. The greatest sports day in Wisconsin since this.
Okay.
Okay, the greatest sports day since this—you got the Packers win over the Bears, shutting them up after nine months of bullshit. Are you? Are you talking to Bears fans? Are you talking with Bears fans? It's backup quarterback.
You beat our backup quarterback, brother. We've been beating your backup quarterback for the last seventy fucking years. It's your Super Bowl. The hell if it is. It's your Super Bowl.
If it was our Super Bowl, we wouldn't have four of these Lombardies. We'd have a hundred and ten. Bears fans aren't even home yet from Green Bay, and we're celebrating a Packers win over the Bears, and a Brewers win over the Dodgers, two-one at American Family Field. My God, my God. What a day!
What a night! We just had a really tight series against the Padres, and now we're gonna have a really tight series against the Dodgers. Ah, thanks, Buck, Bucks, for wrecking my perfect day. Bucks lost a preseason game today. They did.
They did. Sorry. What a great day! Look at these comments rolling in. Let's go!
Let's go! I don't know how this series is going to play out. I do know we've already won one more NLCS game than we did a year ago.
Okay, than we did a year ago.
So let's get down. Let's party! I'll get the link out here in a little bit. There's a lot to talk about in this one. Tarek Skubal, Jacob Mizarowski, Miz not having his best stuff.
Did not get to the fifth inning threshold when four and a third, but it was not a wasted performance. I I almost would almost say like against Scubel, can we pitch someone else? If if if Miz isn't on and he wasn't on against the Padres, you don't want to waste Miz against Scubel. But now they've wasted Scubel. Against us, so I shouldn't think that way.
Elsewhere in the pitching, yeah, John says McGill sure likes to make things interesting in the end. Even all the way to Mookie going back to the the track again. You like the satin starter jacket here on the Dan Shani YouTube stream. I went Sherman vest earlier today. We're going satin jacket now.
This is episode number seven hundred. And sixty-seven. We're ten away from episode seven, seven, seven. That's a big deal. One, we've been doing this podcast for four years, and this last week has been the most enjoyable time if the whole podcast.
Bring back the lucky mini cheesehead. All right, all right, fam. I got that right around the corner.
Okay, Q. All right, Q. You happy? Q. Earlier, I talked for Packers for six seconds.
He's freaking out in the comments.
Now you want my cheesehead back, Q? Fuck out of here. Let's go. Let's go. Great day for Wisconsin fans from Dwayne.
Go Pack. Let's go, you guys.
Someone said.
Someone said.
Wow, a day Bart finally won't bitch. You're damn right. I'm not gonna bitch. This is why we do it. This is why we do it.
To be fair, we've won nothing. We've won nothing yet. We we went to this was the greatest Wisconsin sports day since 2021 because of game one in a seven game series and a week five win. But it is still the greatest Wisconsin sports day since since twenty twenty one. This, this, this right here, this feeling.
Enjoy the ride. This is what we're after. We're three games away from the World Series again. Closer than we were. Last year, this is what we do it for.
Days like this, days when we get to tell Chicago to shut up. Days when we get to beat the Dodgers. See it, visualize it. Wasn't there was a game one last year where Tereng should have let himself get hit, and then the whole series went away.
Well, tonight, Tereng hit a home run. Tarenk got us on the board tonight, and tonight are we going to get overtime in this football game? Shit, I should turn that on. And tonight, Luis Lara with a nice RBI, and how about Vaughn with a nice hit right away after being put in this lineup? No Yelich tonight.
Vaughn's in there, one for three. Bowers one for three. Pratt is still struggling. Lara got his hit. That's good.
Ortiz is a sieve right now. He's not good. There was a good Ortiz in there for a while, but that's not. Churio a couple hits.
So Brewers had six hits. We did strike out thirteen times.
So that's not great either. Contreras had good challenges. Penix just died. Don't know. I have to turn that on.
I mean, he didn't really die, unless he did. Football is a tough sport. Um. Yeah.
Okay.
Oh yeah. The bunt, great. There's so many points. Let me say this too, because this has been a Bart Winkler rallying cry. There's sweat coming down my face.
Oh yeah. Ben. Ben. The double walk disrespect in the eighth was wild. Giants.
Dodgers. One of these teams, right? Dodgers. Trust their pitching staff. In that inning, and it paid off for them.
Brewers trust the Dares and Trevor McGill. He can't keep making things interesting. That's scary. I had my computer in my hand, ready to walk downstairs for five, six minutes longer than I thought I would have to.
So I didn't love that part of it. As I see Bryce Terang on the desk with the boys. It's so crazy. All the times I've been to Miller Park, like you get you get freaked out when you see like, you know, bro, there's Brian Anderson. Oh, there's you know maybe a broadcaster.
I saw Dick Dick Enberg. Dick Enberg. I saw him there once. What's up, Victor? I saw Dick Enberg once, and I was blown away, starstruck.
Um, and now like Big Poppy, A Rod Jeter, they're just they're just there. Uh, they're just there, um.
So that's neat. Bryce Tarang with the home run. Oh, oh, oh, oh! The crowd, the motherfucking crowd. You sons of bitches have been so quiet, so reactionary, so nervous.
This entire. Ever since, ever since I'm, you know, going to these games, these playoff games, it was loud in 2008. It was nerve wracking in 2011, nerve wracking 2018, nerve wracking the last three years. You sons of bitches! The 42,000 of you that were there today, thank fucking Christ, you finally showed up.
Thank God, you guys were incredible. That was the you guys were great because you were cheering for things to happen, not just because things happened. You helped Miz battle.
Okay, you helped make the Dodgers nervous. You guys were great. I have nothing bad to say about. The crowd and don't be don't be oh bird though you're talking shit about the crowd. I was because they sucked and I'm not tonight because they didn't.
Great great stuff. What a terrific game.
Now are we going to win tomorrow? That's another question. Joining us throughout the postseason is Andrew Wagner, repping Cincinnati. Big Bangles win today. What's up, legs?
I don't know if we can count that Bengals win because it came against the Dolphins, who are more ass than I mean anybody in the league. I thought Malik Willis was supposed to be good. Never. Who ever told you that was an idiot? I remember last year.
I have excellent sources on Twitter that said that they should have ditched Jordan Love and kept Malik Willis. Yeah, remember earlier in the year when I said Jordan Love was the top two quarterback in the league? I think I'm saying that again. He's fucking great tonight, Wagner. I would say, as a Wisconsin sports fanatic, which you are not, but I would say that this is the best day.
Since the Bucks won the title in 2011, we had a Packer win, we had a Brewer win, both sizable wins. Although in hindsight, like I earlier mentioned mentioned earlier. It was a Week Five win and a Game One win of a seven-game series, so we didn't win anything yet. But we also we did. We won two big games, and I'm very excited.
And we could have we could have lost one and won the other and been fine. We could have, but but but we won them both, and we won the game that was the most important to win, and that was the game tonight with Tarek Scubel on the mound, blowing into his fist after every at bat, pissed me off because I'm a nitpicky guy. But Jacob Mizerowski certainly not. Out dueling Scubo, but the Brewers' bullpen doing exactly what they did against San Diego, and that was lockdown shit. And this team, for as similar as this team is to the team a year ago, this team's also different.
As Murphy was saying pregame, and they're better. This is not the same team you saw a year ago that got swept by the Dodgers. I mean, and I don't. I don't know how close it is, but I don't think it's that close. This is a good team.
It kind of reminds me a lot of the 2000. I want to say, yeah, it was the 2014 Royals who got close, fell just short, and then came back the next year. And you kind of knew from the beginning that this was a team of destiny. Like they had learned from that postseason experience. They had made the necessary changes, and they went on to win the whole damn thing.
And you could say the same thing about the two thousand sixteen Cubs. You know, two thousand seventeen they kind of shot out of nowhere. You know, ran roughshod over the or two thousand fifteen, excuse me, ran roughshod all over the league. Um, came close in the NLCS. Couldn't get over the hump, and then the next year we're just lights out.
I see similarities in those two teams, and sometimes the best thing that can happen for a young team is to get its ass kicked in the postseason, like the Brewers did last year. I mean, they got they got smoked out of the NLCS. I don't think they were that mismatched. I think they ran into a buzz saw in terms of Dodgers pitching at that point. But I think they learned from that experience.
I I think something about that, and it helps that you brought back almost entirely the same group. You know, there wasn't that many new faces coming in this year. There there were guys that were brought up, but there weren't a lot of outsiders for for the most part. The team that's taking the field today is essentially the team that took the field a year ago in Game One of the NLCS, and you can see. It's a world of difference just from the experience.
They're better on the peripherals. They're better depth. They're better bullpen. But I do think learning from that sweep certainly motivated them real quick for a Bart Winkler dance break. It's a little party with Bartie here tonight, as I am quite possibly in the best mood that I've been in, certainly since I started this podcast.
The best mood since the finals. I have never broadcasted, if that's what you want to call this, which I do. Oh, quick aside.
So as I'm doing the Packer post game today, this is a real story. As I'm doing the Packer post game today, um, one of the neighborhood kids stopped by our house, random, you know, the charm of a community, and he heard me screaming. From the basement to the upstairs, and he asked my wife. He said, "Is that Bart down there?" And she's like, "Yeah, that's him. He's recording his show." And this little second grader says, "Isn't that just like a podcast he does?" And my wife's like, "Yeah, but that's like his job." And the kid goes, "Yeah, I mean, I guess he doesn't really make any money." So that happened earlier today.
Back to the dance break. This is dance break, brought to you by Happy Place. Promo code part twenty five percent off each and every order. Bryn Westover, Nevada Gaming Sportsbook, as we count up the seven seven seven yes ways. Bryn Westover is trying to quit smoking, and these stupid pounches aren't helping.
That's because they don't work. Just smoke. Get your nicotine and tobacco. The Analog way, which is what I'll be doing as soon as we're done with this. Um, M Shark says, "What's a block?
Can you guys discuss?" Forty-eight years old, and I still don't know. Are you serious? You really don't. It's like a catch in the M, a catch in the NFL. I don't know what it is.
I know, like. He can't move because it happened. We were all excited, and then my kid—he heard the word "balk," and he's like, "What's a balk?" And I said, "I don't have any fucking idea." Don't make me admit that to you, son. I'm supposed to be your dad. I'm supposed to know everything.
I don't. I cover sports. I don't know what this is. Did you look it up? What is it?
What is? I mean, who gives a fuck? Dance break. It's the illegal. Is this a block?
Is this a block? Is this a block? Swear to God, if you go shirtless, I'm never doing this again. Is this a block? How bad are my pits?
Hiyo. All right. Basically, a block is considered it's whatever the umpire thinks is a move that's deceitful to the runner.
So there are like eleven thousand different ways to define it, and again, it is it's subjective. I mean, that that's the problem with the rule. It's subjective. Tom says the pickoff of Bowers was more of a block than what Miz did. Sure, I don't.
I can't argue yes or no. I don't know what it is. It certainly seemed from the videos that I saw. It certainly didn't look like a bluff. It looked like a plain pickoff move.
But again, it's such such a subjective rule. Like there needs to be stuff in there that's easily definable. And I've seen people talking about angles and degrees. And like, well, who the hell has a protractor out there? Like, they gotta.
This is one of those rules they gotta figure out. Here's a comment from Christopher Jesus. Gotta adjust my fucking face here. I can't see over this comment. Um, leave it to MLB to call a non balk on Miz and not an obvious balk on LA.
These ump's really need to be strung up. Jesus, MLB media announcers and ump's aren't even trying to hide their pro Dodgers anti-Brewer stance. Can't have a small market team rooting the one billion dollars the Dodgers paid to buy the World Series. Brewers can't and won't win. There's a reason the league always oppressed them.
Smallest market in the league, having a cheap ass owner who has said that if the Brewers couldn't win, they wouldn't have won. They won. I am so fucking tired of Wisconsin fans getting butt hurt. Over every national broadcast, but you're no exactly right. This shit needs to stop.
You want to be treated like a like a like a a major market. You want to be treated like a championship contender. Stop acting like petulant little bitches every time an announcer doesn't kiss your team's ass or fillet your star player on the air. Grow up. Get over it.
Counterpoint. Counterpoint. Let's go. Best day in Wisconsin sports history. Non-title division.
The fuck it was. It was. I've never felt this good outside of a title day. This is a great. This is a great day.
This is a great day. I will let me say this about Joe Davis. I'm going to bring in hot take Jake Andrew Wagner, super fan, right? Right, you like Wags? We're getting there.
Oh, I thought you liked Wags. We're getting there. Well, I like Wags, but I don't think Wags should ever talk about the Bucks. That was my take. Oh, Wagner!
I got a little heated last year. Lost tonight. Yeah, they lost, Jake. Oh man!
So you guys just totally Paul imaged me. I was gonna watch it after I got off. You already knew they were gonna lose. Don't fucking matter. Um, I do want to say this about Joe Davis.
Joe Davis at one point was going.
Now Garrett Mitchell, this is a guy here who had a. He's played 142 games over four years. This year he matched and beat that number and. Yeah, those injuries have really gone through him, and after he made that catch, you know, he kind of soaked it all in and was thinking about it, and and really, really talked about how that was. No, he didn't.
Joe Davis has done this before. He makes shit up. He makes up anecdotes. I swear to God, I've noticed it. He does it.
It's harmless. It enhances the broadcast. But I'm calling it out that he does it. He does it. It's fine.
Everyone does in some way, but I'm just telling you, he does it. The pride of Beloit College. In this day and age, they want to. Joe Davis, Wisconsin. How Beloit is a college?
Yes. The Buccaneers, and they use the creams. They used to use the creamsicle logo. All right, Jay, go ahead.
Well, I think in this day and age, they always need to make a story. It can't just be about sports. Like, it reminds me of that. It's like lived in infamy, the NFL draft. Like, you know, they're doing the preview after the kid got drafted, and it was like all his stats, played three years, transferred, blah blah blah, and then the last one.
Mom died at three years old of a drug overdose. Like it was on the screen in his stat line. Like they just—that's what they live for now. I don't know. I think it was definitely noticeable in the San Diego series that they like were all over the Padres.
I didn't really feel it tonight that they were like you know had a rooting interest in the Dodgers. Other than they kept trying to do the announcer. Like Jinx to get you know, well, McGill's only given up one home run, and like he kept setting up like Shohei hasn't hit a home run since August 17. Yeah, I was like they were trying for it big time.
Okay, let me tell you this though about the announcers: who gives a fuck? They don't control the game now because because at the beginning of the game, a couple people messaged me like. Oh, they're saying this is a game seven. The Brewers have to win. Yeah, they did.
They did have to win. They did. So I think so. If you didn't like the phrase, like this is a Brewers game seven, that's that's that's not the announcers shitting on us. You just didn't like how he said it.
They they had to win that game. Shout out Wisconsin Sports two four six two six. Did the Bucks win? No, we the Bucks did not win tonight.
Sorry, Jake. I also got AF Wagner saying I'm the real Andrew Wagner.
Well, in which case you're banned from the press box because you don't have the spirit of baseball. the The deeper the Brewers go, the the more real Andrew Wagner we're gonna get, I think. Oh yeah, I'm gonna burn. I'm gonna burn the shit down. And the more fans they get, open.
If I wanted, I was trying to do the. The pop open where it just like gives you a little bit of of spray and it ended up blowing up in my face.
So that's all right. Was that an old Milwaukee? No, this is the canned high life.
Okay, I was going to say, Jesus, canned. No, what were they say? Recession indicator buying cans of old Milwaukee. That would be one. Yeah, I just wanted to pop on to say that I hate this.
I don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight. This this is just too much. It was definitely heart attack city. But I'm I'm living in denial right now. I keep trying to tell myself that this team does not feel like the 21 bucks.
They don't. No, they do. They do. Yeah, and I'm living in denial. Like I keep trying to like deny that feeling because I feel, but I don't want to say it.
Jake, Jake, maybe they won't win, but they feel like they're gonna. Yeah, I was talking to some friends about it earlier. Like, the Bucks were down 0-2 twice, and I watched Giannis's leg break in half, like, like literally fold in half, and yet still, it never felt like they were going to be denied. And I, that's what I'm starting to feel like with this Brewers team. And the other thing that I wanted to mention was, I mean, you can't.
It can't be overstated how huge a win it is when, basically, other than Arribe and Hall, no one had their stuff tonight, and you still win. Like that is massive. And any any Misurawski start in the playoffs that ends in a loss is catastrophic.
So they had to win. You're missing a name there, though. You're missing a name in in terms of people who got shit done tonight. Yeah, or Rebe.
Well, but I don't think he had it going. Like he, I don't know. Paul's double play was huge. Yeah, I mean that the defense was great, but he he got six outs, no runs. I mean the guy is scoreless in seven and two thirds over five postseason games.
Like you talking Ashby now? Are you talking Ashby? Yeah, yeah, that's what I mean. I feel like they got it done. I don't feel like he had his best stuff tonight.
Yet they still they they got it done. That's I mean to me again. That's just a testament to like how huge that is. I think this was a a must-win game. Not so much in terms of the outcome of the series, but just.
I I think for the emotions and for the confidence and for all that other bullshit that you know the stuff that isn't in the box score isn't in the line score, for the Brewers to come out after getting swept last year, uh, come out today and yeah, it was another close game, but they got the job done and they set the tone for the series. I think that was important for them going back into the clubhouse today to take this first game and kind of shut up the outsiders. Who, if they would have lost, would have said, "Oh well, Dodgers are on their way to another sweep." And I also think if the Brewers would have fallen behind in this series early, I don't think they have. I don't think I don't see them as a team that can dig out of a hole in the series. I think they've got to stay tied or ahead throughout this whole thing.
I think too. First of all, for you, Jake one one thing about this because it is, and I've seen that tweet a bunch. What is it? Baseballs the one thing that's really going to make you want to kill yourself. The baseball playoffs, like you just can't, even when it's exciting.
Like even to get to this point right now, that was an excruciating three hours, and against the Padres, excruciating. Here's here's what I find solace in is that. We have never been truly here before in our lifetime.
Well, 2018, but even this feels different. But but but we'll never be here again. Like after this, we're fucked forever. I think. I disagree.
I mean, I think there's an argument to be made that the window is just cracked open right now because you still got Maday and this deep, deep system of guys that have yet to come up, and a guy, a bunch of guys that are on the ascend, like Misurowski, Henderson. You got a bunch of pitchers that are going to come back next year. Maybe you get Priester back. Like this, I think this is could be the beginning of something big. Granted, that's a famous last words as a Wisconsin sports fan because.
We all thought Rogers was getting multiple rings. We thought Giannis was getting multiple rings.
So we'll take what we can get for sure. I have this comment here. Ryan says, "Not going to lie, I never felt like we were going to lose." I took a second because my friend texted me. He's very into the Brewers, and we were talking about how groined up we were, and I said. I'll get back to you in a minute.
I'm currently filling up jars of my semen and sending them to the fister. Why? Why am I here? Um. I just want to say, Bart, that that is the second ejaculation reference in at least a couple weeks.
At least my kid wasn't with me this time. But also, that might go into the Hall of Fame. It doesn't quite beat one time Leroy said the word "gunt" on the air, and I damn near crashed my car. Furnace James, today was an amazing day as a Wisconsin sports fan. I don't need too many Packers Bears followed up by Brewers playoff game days.
Anxiety filled Sunday. I I don't feel like um, you know that comment from was it Ryan, who was it just now that said he didn't think we were going to lose? Once we were up two two one, I felt good. Even even in the ninth inning, I felt like. All right, we're just dicking around here before we get this win.
Even when Mookie cracked it off the bat, I am like, "Ah, I'll be caught somewhere." I don't know. I, I, this, this, this. When you think positive, you see positive, okay. Is what happens. Oh, Wisconsin sports fans!
You always end bad. As soon as we lose, I'm going to send the whole list of all the losses we ever had. I'm so happy to be sad. Yeah, fuck you. We don't do that no more.
We shouldn't have done that after the Bucks title, but you went right back into your sadness, which, to be fair, was a lot of Matt Lafleur's fault. That stupid bitch. But comfortable here. Yeah, this is different. You gotta believe, and motherfuckers.
You guys in that crowd tonight? You believed. Hey, also quick shout out, unsung hero, Murphy hit all the right switches and buttons tonight. The lineup putting Lara in got the huge hit. Like Andrew Vaughn got a hit too.
Like it's did all the right pitching changes. Cool dude, love the guy. Yeah.
Yeah, everybody loves Murphy. Even I like Murph. Yeah, even I can't shit. I have nothing to shit on him for.
Well, except he's a Springsteen fan. I can do without that.
Well, hey, I'm glad you brought that up. Like, I don't want to get ahead of anything. If the Brewers win a World Series and they're at home. They absolutely cannot play Glory Days after they win. Like that is the one thing that they have wrong.
Do you want them to go back to American Authors' Best Day of My Life? Ooh, ooh, ooh! I liked that. That was awesome. I was a big fan of that because I always wanted to get drunk with the monster in that video.
Like I've had days like that. I think we can do better than both of those.
Well, they do it because of Murph. That's why they play Glory Days. There's a whole hey. Why don't they do the Laverne and Shirley song? You know, everybody doing it our way.
That kind of fits the team. Why don't they play Turning Up the Heat? Any anything is better than Glory Days. Last year, I tried to get local bands to re-record. Turning up the heat or Brewer Fever, and what a shock!
The Brewers poo pooed those efforts.
Sounds about right. How hard did you try? Pretty hard to the point where I actually had one of my. They were not local, but a band that I know and love and have. Supported greatly on Twitter.
If you know me, you know who I'm talking about. They were actually interested in doing a recording of it for me to use during last year's broadcast on a radio station that shall remain nameless. Like, think about the song "Glory Days," though. Nobody's putting that on their gym playlist and getting pumped. Like, no.
But you know what I think about when I hear today. That was Murphy's choice. There was Adam or somebody asked him about Springsteen today, and he went into a whole spiel. It's all over Twitter. That's why they play Glory Days.
So some sixty-some-year-old man gets to ah whatever. But you know what Glory Days reminds me of? I just saw come into my feed back in the day in like '96 at the DNC they were doing the Macarena. And it was just like a bunch of old, fat, white people. Like that's what Glory Days reminds me.
I can see just a. I mean, I guess it fits because I read Murphy's answer, and he he talked about Springsteen. He's like, no, I just I never liked that kind of music. It just kind of hit me. He's talking about Springsteen like it's some indie fucking rock band.
Like he's a fucking hardcore punk. Bruce Springsteen, you stupid. Really pushing the envelope. Springsteen fans talk about him like that, like he's some. Fucking musical genius!
I'm not really into Springsteen, but he just speaks to me. Yeah, he speaks to like forty fucking million people. He's like the biggest artist in the world. How about something local? Give me the Violent Femmes.
I'll take that. You want something real local? How about Eddie Lemberg? Oh yeah. How about some Blue Brew?
We're from Wisconsin. We recognize the Grand and Great. It's no surprise that we love our true Blue Brew guys. They hit, they run. It's fun.
Be wise, arise, dancing. We're gonna get copyright stricken. Am I getting copyright from Eddie fucking Lemberg? To the plate, wave your bat, shimmy, shake, do the bruv bruv boogaloo. Spank the ball past the wall, bob your head, stand tall, do the bruv bruv boogaloo.
Tip your cap to the crowd, recognize, take a bow, do the bruv bruv boogaloo. All right, I'm in. Brew, brew, boogaloo, brew, brew, boogaloo, brew, brew, boogaloo. I love my brew, brew, brew, brew, boogaloo, brew, brew, boogaloo, boogaloo, boogaloo, boogaloo, boogaloo, boogaloo. Hey Milwaukee, we love you.
We. All right, you may have done it, Bart. You may have done it because I will point out one thing. The year he did, Aaron Rodgers rock and roll. I think they won the Super Bowl.
He did Bucks Luss the year they won the title. And now you're gonna put this out into the universe. This is gonna become a thing. And Eddie Lemberger is the key to any Wisconsin championship. I agree.
Not like I'm gonna kiss hands on that. Like that fucking sellout, Pat McCurdy. Yeah, fuck Pat McCurdy. Oh my God! I ain't getting sued, Eddie.
And Eddie and I are boys. Eddie's calling to the show all the time. I mean, you know what? I'm going to reach back out to Ed and get him back. Do it.
Get him back on. It's not a playoff run in the Winkler verse without Eddie Jay Lemberger. There is a great record that he's from Madison. Musician named Nate Gibson, incredibly talented guy. He put out a record last year, right around the playoffs, called "Fear the Beer." A musical salute to the Brewers.
Some really great stuff in there, including like a ode to Charlie Pride. If you know classic country, Charlie's a Hall of Famer, and he was a member of the Brewers for spring training for two years. Did a song dedicated to Euchre.
So, if you like the Brewers and you like music, check out Nate Gibson's "Fear the Beer." I'm stealing this joke from Grant. But do you think if the Bears would have won today, they would have read Ben Johnson would have read a letter from Ditka? You know the Brewer fans should have changed, and the Bears still suck at the end of the game. Just they really should have. They really, they this is nine months of Green Bay sucks at fucking music concerts.
Bart, your uh, your girlfriend Brie is in shambles tonight. It's great. Brie is so fine, dude. The chick with the fucked up eyes. Yeah.
Yeah.
Brie is so fine. I don't know, man. That's a weird one. Nah, you guys are. Wait, you have a thing for Brie, and then the chick that stole everyone's money.
What's her name? They're doing the documentary about her. No, Elizabeth Holmes looks like me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you had a thing for her.
No, I have a thing for Andy McDowell specifically from Groundhog Day, just that role. Fair enough. I was more of a Miss Honey from. Matilda. Anyways, I don't know.
I told my my my my wife wants to marry William Contreras.
So really, yeah, I said deal if I get to marry Stephanie Vikir. You know who William Contreras looks like? Wilson reptiles. Yeah, he looks like that scene from the Conan movie where James Earl Jones slowly transforms into a snake, and he's like, guys, that's mean. Look it up.
Tell me it's not true. Every human. Does bear some resemblance to an animal. I feel like you know a lot of girls are mousy; they're cute, like like my girl Elizabeth Holmes, little mousy look. I'm more of like a lemur, maybe, or like a like a.
What about that broad in the red dress? She's like a praying mantis. You know, the one standing next to Trump. That's like. William Contreras, I'd probably ask for divorce," says Horvat.
Well, what's at least at least I'm not into K. Laura Lumer Adams. What the fuck is going on there?
Well, that's uh, that's like the old joke. Uh, you know, everybody has their get out of jail free. Are we talking about the Brewers or yeah? We can get back to it. We're just all pumped up.
At least I have no idea what the hell is going on. Usually, I'm the one that takes it off the rails. Is this your first day in the Winklerverse? Who the fuck are you? No, that's Patty.
Come on, Patty. She knows she was there tonight. They got well. Then, hey, you know what, Patty? Why don't you jump on and say something?
Talk all this shit. Patty was at our tailgate, cooking for us. I know. Can I shit on my former colleagues for a second, please? This is for shitting.
Hold a fuck on. You were supposed to go. I gave you the whole space for yourself. Yeah, no, I can't hear anything. Yes, see, Patty, this is the Winkler verse right here.
She's in the car, Patty. We love you. We do love you, Patty.
Okay, so what I just tried to do was I I um tried to give Andrew Wagner the full screen, and then and then and then it fucked up his audio because Streamyard is donkey dick.
So he'll fix that, and I've killed the buzz. Actually, fuck that. The buzz is high. I'm so jacked up. I'm gonna drink so much Happy Place Hemp tonight.
That's where I'm off to. Trev says this is our year. Goddamn right it is. You got to get out and get in. Yeah, I fucked up.
All right, I'm gonna take off too, Bart. But before I do, money in the bank. What do you think, man? Um, I liked the Roman L.A. match was good.
I bought into one near fall. Yeah, I just feel bad for the guy. Yeah, I liked that Penta one. Wags, I'm back. I'm sorry about that.
It's all right. Every time you like. Bring someone on, or like drop something, or whatever. Just like goes blank. That sucks.
It's all right. All right. You want to? I'm going to ruin the moment. Pass.
No, I'll shit on my former colleagues.
So imagine my surprise as I log on today to Twitter and see the latest from the Journal Sentinel: what to know about front row Amy. Are you fucking kidding me? Why are we still giving this clown the time of day? And why, on the day of the biggest game in franchise history, is the local newspaper giving her column space?
So yeah, just shitting on my former colleagues. Journal Sentinel reading is down eighty nine percent. I saw. What a shock!
Well, when you don't get the newspaper for two days after the game is played. No, Corey, call in. I'll call in. But last time, Corey tried calling in, you got all fucked up. Yamamoto versus Logan Henderson tomorrow.
Henderson, obviously the guy we did not give up in the Scuba deal. I'm still not willing to just believe because. The Scubal trade. I got really mad at Ken Rosenthal, another announcer. I got mad when he.
Yeah, I saw that report. The Brewers were they they missed out on Scubal. The fuck if we did. We didn't miss out on something. We weren't involved in.
We wanted Scubal. The Tigers decided to just give him to the Dodgers for a guy named.
Well, the Tigers, the Tigers wouldn't do a deal without Henderson. And when the Brewers wouldn't part with Henderson, they moved on, and they sure as hell were not going to sit there and take a lesser deal in their eyes. And they weren't going to deal with the Brewers after that, so they moved on to the Dodgers deal. The Brewers were not budging on Henderson, nor should they. And yes, so you can sit there and say, "Well, they." No, you can say that.
The Dodgers gave up less. I want to waste time with the hypothetical. If we did get Scooble. He would have pitched tonight, and Miz would have gone game two, right? Yep, probably.
Scubal's game one numbers—you see that they—they—they—he's got an ERA less than one in game ones. He's amazing.
So they beat Scubal. Did they face them when he was with the Tigers this year? Did they miss him? They did face them. It was Henderson Scubal once with the Dodgers.
Yeah, I knew that, and they beat him, and they beat him again tonight. I just can't remember if he pitched against them while he was with the Tigers before he got traded. But I just, I'm sick of the scuba talk because listen, there's no. I understand what it would have brought to the rotation, but you can't give up a guy like Henderson. You just can't.
I mean that that guy is part of the future moving forward. It's nothing to do with being cheap. It's it's everything to do with being smart.
Now, Jacob Mizerowski, go ahead, finish, finish with that.
Well, that's why I got annoyed with with Rosenthal's report because then he's like, "Oh, imagine if the Brewers would have got this deal, it would have been Scubel, Mizerowski, Henderson." No, it wouldn't, and you know that because Henderson, the chip they were they were being asked for, so it still would have been just Scubel and Mizerowski. You don't have that third ace. Miz against the Padres. It took him 88 pitches to go four innings. He gave up two earned and four hits.
He struck out seven against the Dodgers tonight. It was a pretty similar line: four and a third, five hits, a run, and five Ks. I don't think that. I don't think that anything is. I think it's less that Miz doesn't have his stuff, as it is the approaches in the playoffs against Jacob Mizarowski.
The Padres were going to make him get eighty-eight pitches through four or five innings by fouling off everything they could. The Dodgers appeared to take the same kind of strategy in the regular season. You are not. Even if that's like, well, that's how we beat Miz. You're still not aggressively doing that.
You're not. You're not. People thought there was no pitch clock against the Padres because the at bats were so long. It wasn't because the time in between pitches. It was because these are twelve pitch at bats because they kept fouling the balls off.
So that's why, to me, that's why I think Miz doesn't have it. And I'm sure the Brewers will try to work on.
Okay, how do we counter what they're doing? But I'm not like I'm not worried, and I'm going to do a lot of air quotes now. I'm not worried about the Miz. No, I wouldn't be either. Obviously, love him to pitch better, but he matched Scoobles' outing tonight, and they won the game.
So I'm good. You you you win the game that he starts. That's the ultimate goal. Doesn't matter if he gets the decision or not. Doesn't matter how hard he throws.
Doesn't matter how many strikeouts he has. It just matters that you don't waste that outing. And the Brewers didn't.
Now, ideally, you'd like to do the same thing with Henderson on the bump tomorrow. But you're also going up against Yamamoto, and I think best case scenario is you come out of here with a split. Like that's if you lose tomorrow, it sucks, but. A split's not too shabby going back to LA. I think the absolute the absolute worst case scenario that they can manage is because it's the two three two format.
They have to get back to Milwaukee, even if they're down three two. You have to get back to Milwaukee. You cannot let the Dodgers. You cannot let them win the next four, which they could. I mean, this is the Dodgers, folks.
But also, as we were talking so much about Murphy and Springsteen, another thing that he said earlier this week was, "It's the Milwaukee Brewers." Essentially, we need to go through the Dodgers. Like we, it could have been Brewers, Braves.
Okay, there's some 1957 nonsense we could talk about, whatever. But this Brewers team. With this being our third NLCS appearance in eight years, both against the Dodgers previously, this has to be against the Dodgers. We saw this. We thought the same thing in the '90s with the Packers.
It has to be the Cowboys, and it wasn't.
So you know, maybe it's. But but for this baseball, let's just say baseball is different. I don't know. I was thinking the same thing along those lines. I go back to 2011, like it was kind of fitting that they had to get past the Cardinals in the NLCS.
Like that was that was the stepping stone because the Cardinals, for all those years, dominated the Central. They dominated the Brewers, just in every aspect. And as the Brewers started to climb up in two thousand six, seven, eight, nine, whatever, the Cardinals were always the ones that were just kind of knocking them down.
So I thought the same thing; like it was fitting in two thousand eleven. You go to the the NLCS and you got to dethrone the Cardinals that that have been the king of the division and your arch nemesis for all those years. Actually, the defense wasn't a tank, and they couldn't pitch for shit, and they couldn't hit for shit, and well, they played like shit. I will also like to pre-counter, just in case. Just in case the Brewers are up three-one, and it's Game Five.
Do not do the thing where we say, "Well, if they did lose, it'd be nice because then we could win in Milwaukee." Let's just in case. Let's not do that, okay? We need to win as fast as we fucking possibly can. If we do it, because then you'll get the World Series, and we can win there. We don't.
We don't need to clinch shit in Milwaukee. We can win on Neptune. We can win in Neptune, Florida. We can win. I just don't even care where we win.
I don't care. Jim says, "Just win it." Oh, your optimism. I'm just saying. I'm just. I don't think the Brewers are going to be game five clenchers.
I don't think they're going to need a game five. That's why. Hi. No, no, no, no. I'm kidding.
I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Kidding. Kidding. Kidding.
Kidding. Kidding. Kidding. Hey, we've gone 47 minutes without talking about shit or toilet paper today.
So congratulations for both of us. I cleaned out my system. I feel great. I feel great. What happens tomorrow?
Four o'clock game. Henderson Yamamoto. It feels like the score is going to be two to one. Who wins? That's this is basically.
Hey, did you enjoy that Padres series? No, it was too tight. All right, how about even fucking tighter? Let's see. What was the stat?
Something else. The Brewers are the tenth team in postseason history to have each of their first five or more postseason games decided by two runs or fewer. The fourth in the last 110 years, joining the 2024 Royals, the 2022 Astros, and the 2010 Giants. We're gonna see Yellie tomorrow. Yeah, we'll see Yellie again.
Somebody earlier said, "Do we even need Yelich?" Yelich. Let me say this again about Yelich. He is the only one on this team that wants it as bad as the fans do. In that way. That's how I feel.
I agree with you there. I agree with you there. He want that dude has embraced this city and this community and this fan base more than any athlete that has come through Wisconsin in the last thirty years. And yes, I'm including that guy who used to play for the Bucks, and I'm including that guy who used to play quarterback for the Packers, Christian Yelich. Understands and embraces and ingrains himself into the community more than any athlete that I have covered in this city in my 30-year career.
Yelich, I I would wager also that I don't know. I've I've not. You know, you've talked to you. I ain't really. I just said like, hey, Bob, and he was like, yeah, I see ya.
But I, I, I would guess that Euchre, like I bet Yelich has seen a side of Euchre not many have. Like I think he's met the real Bob, the real Bob. Yes, like Bob Euchre shared his hopes and fears and dreams, and told him the stories that don't just hit on Johnny Carson.
So I don't want any Yelich slander, is what I'm saying. This motherfucker! You want to talk about born a brewer? Let me tell you this: in the show Agatha All Along, Marvel, because in the show Wanda Vision, Wanda Maximoff created two sons that were not real. But she created them through her witch magic.
Okay, and then once the hex had to go away, the sons died. But they didn't really die; their souls went into other bodies. Billy's soul went into a kid who had just died in a car accident at the exact minute. And what I'm saying is, I believe. Where Craig Council was born a brewer, all of that brewer history left and went into Yelich.
Yelich has the memories of a kid that used to go to the ballpark in 1987 at County. Yelich has all these de facto like he is a brewer.
Okay, this guy needs it for you as much as he needs it for him. I believe it. I don't know, like I'm not. I just I'm not like Christian Yelich is the best guy ever, Christian. I don't know any.
I'm just what I do know about him is he wants us. Everybody there, one through forty thousand, and then at forty thousand and one is Christian Yelich. That's my point. Christian Yelich is one of y'all, like. He's one of y'all.
That's that's the best way that I can say it. He appreciates. He knows what his role with the franchise is because of the profile, because of the contract, because of the salary, because of the spotlight. Like he knows what the job is, and yes, obviously the job is to produce on the field, which he's been struggling with. But let's face reality: the guy's been at a long time.
He's on the downside.
So he knows that he has to live up to that contract in other ways, and that means being the face of the franchise, being the guy that's out there when shit is hitting the fan, and someone has to get up and speak for the team on why shit is hitting the fan. Like he's the guy that's waiting at his locker when we come in there, good or bad. He's the guy that when the BCS says, "Hey, we have this event going on," he's the one that's out there front and center, like. Give the guy credit. Yeah, he may not be what he was at the plate in two thousand and eighteen.
Accept it. That's the reality. But the fact is that guy has accepted the mantle as like the face of the Brewers, and he considers himself a Milwaukeean. Obviously, South California is always going to be home, but. But the dude has become a Milwaukee, and this is his second home.
And like he appreciates it, and respects it, and enjoys it. Like he's actually happy to be here. Bart hitting that happy place ham early, huh? No, no. I I just think one of the more fascinating things in sports is how we we're watching this game tonight.
And this is a thought that I had. Like, I am watching this game. We're in the NLCS. It's game one. It's very tight.
Um, and at at one point, I thought of like just being a Brewer fan. I've got this hat. I've got this jacket. I've got all the shit on my wall. I've got I've got a bunch of stuff here.
Here is you want you want some prop comedy. Look at this. Let's let's let's get in the spirit, okay? Oh, I just found mine the other day. I was gonna put it out.
Yeah, get the card. See, okay. I started the brewer card. Started decorating. I started hanging shit up.
Look, this is Paul Molitor's credit card number. If you wanted, I'll read it to you: zero zero zero zero zero. Oh wait, there's some more at the beginning. Five four.
Okay, and then I got this one. Brewers. Oh, that that's a class one. I have one more. That's like a.
That's from the. That's from when the the White Sox were playing games here. That's not even from like a Brewers game. Where's my other one? I've got three of them.
God damn it! Oh, Winkler verse follow up. I talked about my Wheaties thing. I ended up ripping the Wheaties box apart and framing it.
So I didn't know what to do. I had the box. And I said, "Fuck it! I'll just tear it apart and frame it." And then the frame doesn't stick. See, that's unfortunate.
Yeah.
So I even found I found a collage that I made when Robin Yount retired when I was like 13 years old.
So I hung that up on the wall. But as I was sick of a, I was sick of the viewers and listeners shitting on my undecorated new apartment.
So I. Pounded some shit on the walls tonight, so it looks like I'm a professional. When do we get that guitar in your hand? Why don't you come up with a brewer song? You know, of them.
Ooh, got the accordion here too. Um, Cilium Contreras, enjoyer, big fan of you. What do you think the parade route will be? Stadium to Summerfest grounds via Wisconsin Ave. That's a good question.
You want him to end at the park, right? Or you want him to end at the Summerfest grounds? I don't know. I think they have. They're going to end at the stadium, and then Robin will come in on a motorcycle again.
I don't think the parade route needs. I think the parade route needs to go down Blue Mound. If you ask me, I agree with you there. Should go down Blue Mound past all the Blue Mound bars. Yeah.
The the downtown we we already did downtown we did downtown when they lost. Let's do let's do Blue Mountain, do Canal Street, and let's um, yeah, yeah, let's do Canal. Let's go right by. I'll I'll put out my parade chair at Palermo's. I let's do let's do uh let's do this let let's do the stage at Hart Park.
You know what I love about Hart Park. There's no greater sign that you'll never hear of a Wisconsin Milwaukee-based franchise again than when these minor league teams go and we're gonna play our games at Hart Park, okay, for a year. Then we're gonna fucking never hear from you again. Jim in Chicago looks like he was at the game. Yeah, that's correct.
Hey, buddy. Hey, man. What's happening? You're still in the lot. We're still in the lot.
There's a lot of cars here. My son is here sober, so I'm gonna let him drive me home. Yeah.
So I mean, yeah. There's there's just so much traffic. What's the point? I mean, what's the point? Was there anything to do?
If your son's driving you home, keep drinking. Yeah, I'm just gonna enjoy my cigar here. Yeah.
How bad is it getting in and out of there with the construction? It's bad. You know, we drove up from Chicago.
Well, first of all, I sat in my backyard and watched the Packers kick the Bears' ass earlier. And Bart, as as I shared with you before, I I attended 108 baseball games down in Chicago between the Rayfield and the Wrigley Field because I work at both venues. And I think in approximately 100 of those games, I heard Green Bay Sucks chant, and every time I heard it. I was just like, you know what? I we just need to play, and and I'm glad that the Packers brought it today because, shut those people up.
That's there's there's a fine line between, you know the the the the back and forth, just kind of the casual, hey let's let's rib each other or whatever, and then being jerks. And they're being jerks. I mean, ten year old kids with shirts off running out of right field. Green Bay sucks. Come on, what kind of parenting is that?
This is what you get. Thirty-one to seven. That's what happens, Mister. Yeah, what you smoking there? Yeah, what you smoking?
Quente. Quente, short story. Ooh, very nice. Very nice. Yeah, I don't know how to smoke cigars.
Just don't inhale, man. Don't don't be like. Who is the one in the Brewers locker room smoking it like a cigarette? Who is doing that?
Somebody. I did that. I did that two years ago. A Schwager and a cigar. That's brutal.
I was just sitting in the corner. The amount of shit that I put in my lungs over the years, that ain't gonna do shit for me. Ah, Jim. Yeah.
What was the Dodger fan contingent? Did any of them come? Not many, not many, a handful at best. I would say I there's not a lot of Dodger fans here at all. Yeah, I don't think we're in the upper.
Yeah, I don't know. I mean, you know what? They've won two years in a row, and I the time for them to just step down and let someone else win for a change, you know? Yeah, but there's also not a lot of LA transplants like. You know, there is going to be a shitload of Brewers fans at Dodgers games because, like, everyone from the Midwest moves to California.
LA doesn't really have a lot of expats. Like, it's not that they don't travel well, and it's like, why would you go to the Midwest in October anyway?
So, I am not shocked that like this was going to be a ninety-nine percent Brewers fan crowd. Yeah, you know the thing is, and again, over the summer working both in the north North and South side, I worked Dodger games at at both Wrigley and Rate, and there were a lot of Dodger fans there for those. But then when you talk to them, they're kind of like those people. You know, when I was a kid, now here's the thing for you guys—you're younger than I am. When I was a kid, a crap ton of my friends were Dallas Cowboy fans.
This is in the '70s when the Packers sucked. I'm like, how the hell are you a Dallas fan? It's kind of like that down there, you know. Oh, I'm just a Dodger fan. I'm just a Yankee fan.
You know what? Are the cases? You're not from there. You just like joined onto this bandwagon. Come on, man.
You will see a lot of. I I think that's a good like Brewer fans at Dodger Stadium because when I when I've gone to Packer games out west, um. You you walk around and you're like, wow! I can't believe how many people made the trip. No, nobody made the trip.
They're all they all live there. And the way you could tell was cheeseheads. People do not fly out with a cheesehead. It's the transplants that wear cheeseheads. Cheeseheads are for transplants.
Correct. I should make a shirt of that. I agree with you, Jim. Anything else?
Now we're we're coming back tomorrow for game two. Hopefully, get the W. My folks still live out in the area, so we're just gonna crash over there. You know, that's that's that's a bonus. And then, yeah, we'll make it work, man.
You like the four o'clock start? I love the four o'clock start because that means I can get back down to the Chicagoland area, so my wife doesn't get mad at me. Yeah, you can get home for Bills Rams. Oh, burn burner. Hi Jim, good to see you, bud.
Get back on tomorrow. All right, man. Thank you. You guys be good. Peace.
I'm out. Jim in Chicago in the lot. Jim is from Wisconsin, but he lives now in the Chicagoland area and works games at both stadiums, as he just told you. He made me think of something talking about like tickets and opposing fans.
So I did not realize that next Sunday is Cowboys Packers. Is that game in Green Bay? Yeah, and the Cowboys are point and a half favorites already. Is that a is that a is that a gold package game or is that a Green Bay game? I think today was gold.
Okay, I bet. I wonder if the Brewers are going to put. Packer game on the concourse, like they always do, which I think is such a weak move. In the play, I wonder how many people. Yeah, they've done it in the past.
Which I remember. I remember going there in '08 because the Packers played Atlanta, and it was the first time I didn't care about a Packer game. When the Brewers are playing the Phillies, and I was like trying to look at a TV from the outfield, like in the club section or something. But it's if it's Game Six of the NLCS, especially if it's a clinching opportunity, they're not putting the Packers on anywhere. Yeah, I'm not.
Well, I wouldn't be shocked. I wouldn't be shocked. I'm not even. How many how many Packer fans sell sell their tickets to that game to watch the Brewers? If it's like, I I don't know, but if it's if it's game six, and if it's game six, that means we're either clinching or we're going to be eliminated.
Like if it's game six, it's a three two series. We're either going to be eliminated or we're going to clinch. Yeah.
So, I'm not it like. Oh, just put it on. Put it on the small TV. Fuck that. If it's Game Six, I will find out how the Packers and Cowboys did on Monday.
Like if I if I had tickets to that game, I would be like posting in every Dallas Facebook group and gouging up the price. Yeah, because those dorks would pay the money for it. Tom says, "Does anyone know anyone who into both games today? I do. Doug Russell.
He boasted about it. Hardest working man in radio. Just ask him. But like." I like that I don't have to pretend to be friends with all these people anymore. Like, fuck it.
We'll do like a. We'll do. Do they have any late night games on the West Coast, or are they all going to be like early prime time? Because seven and eight, we get up late. There's one eight o'clock.
Okay.
I was hoping there's going to be like a nine or a ten o'clock start, so you go deep into the night. I can just get rip shit and like let it let it fly. Drew says, "If the Packers will pull in better statewide TV rating than the Brewers, yeah, not in Game Six, dude. Not in Game Six. No, I'd be curious.
I would be curious to see how it turns out because the Packers are always king in this state, and this could be this could be an interesting test to that theory." Don't get me wrong. This has been a great day, and a lot of that was also because of the Packers.
Now, if the Packers would have just won today against any fucking team, that's great. But they beat Chicago after them talking shit for nine months. I would, I would think you'd be pissed about these last two games because doesn't just like keep Lafleur around longer? Like, have they, have they gotten blown out these last two weeks? Lafleur on the hot seat, maybe gone.
Like, I thought about that. I have to go where my heart goes, and my heart would still rather the Packers win than lose a shitload of games, including this one, so that Lafleur is gone. I would love it if Lafleur was gone, but I, I can't root for it. I'm going to still root for wins. The only time that that change was.
A few years ago, I was done with fucking Rogers, and I did want to lose, so he left. That was on Christmas Day against the Dolphins, and I think we won that game. And I was pissed. What the hell is Lady Jane's Wagner? You go to Lady Jane's for a jail cut via Mike Wicket?
LMAO. I don't know what is that. Is that a? Is that like a? I have no clue.
I go to the WCTC Cosmetology School to get my hair cut. Ten bucks? Is it free? Ten bucks? Ten bucks?
Yeah.
I go to my guy Phil and Keisha at BU Hair Salon on Wilson Drive in Shorewood. You want some styling tips, buddy? I got you. Sure. What can you do with this?
Look at it! I'm sweaty like I fucking played. Who's who's sweat more tonight, me or Bryce Terang?
Well, you're wearing a satin jacket when it's like 75 degrees. Yeah, I'm hot as fuck down here. Um. Oh, quick, quick note, quick programming note. This is now time for our scheduled dance party.
I had one other important thing to say, which was about the Packers and Brewers. I don't even want like this bullshit. If okay, you brought the question.
So if Game Six, there's going to be bars that are like, "Come on in, we're playing both." Do none of those bars. No, we can have one night where the Brewers don't just get the TVs because the Packers allow them. That's why I and I I said this the other day on Channel Twelve with my guy Derek Rose. I said Derek, I like Derek. Yeah, I'm gonna get him on here.
He's a he's he's good stuff. I told him I love the Packers. They're probably my favorite team. If I had to, if you had to, like lie detector me, okay. But there is also nothing I love more than when the Brewers look at the Packers and say, "Sit the fuck down, you're not all that great." I I just love it.
I I just love it so much. I love it, and I want that to happen. But I don't want that to happen. I don't want there to be a Game Six. I want to win.
There's going to be a game six.
Well, there's going to be a game seven.
Okay, we won tonight, which means we at least get a chance to win a game seven. If we would have lost tonight, we would have needed a game eight. We need to win these games with Miz. We need to win tomorrow. Henderson vs Yamamoto tomorrow.
If you can take both those first two games. And only need to win one in LA. That's that that is as good. It's spectacular. Like, yeah.
What do you think about that other series, Rays Guardians? Because Guardians did something pretty heroic coming back down to zero. The Rays just seemed like they're better than either team that they were going to face, though. Yeah, I agree there. And listen, but here's the thing: the Rays are not like the you know the '90s Yankees or the current Dodgers.
Like they're an incredibly good team, just like the Brewers, but they're not unbeatable. I think the Guardians something something snapped in them. They went on a tear. They're coming into this thing hot. The Rays have been in the cooler for the last couple days because they roared through their city.
Momentum right now is on the guards. If they can come out and steal a game in one of these first two, and shift home field advantage back to Cleveland, this could be—it's honestly a pickup. Like, obviously, I obviously the Rays are the favorite just because the records and all that shit and in the line, whatever. But when you've got a team that's been on ice and you got a team that's coming in hot with little time off to to cool down. You got to give a little bit of a nod to that team, and right now, that's the Guardians.
I had one other point to make, and I have forgotten that point.
Okay.
I think it was about fuck. What was it about? It was about something to do with the group. The move, the dance, in trance, brew crew. Fuck you, 1982.
It's 2026, and we are going to the ship, motherfuckers. Pop, pop, pop. I'll do it again. Pop, pop, pop. I'll do it again.
I'm not stoned enough for this. Yeah, I gotta get stoned. I gotta get stoned and play Madden. Listen, I I bought Madden twenty seven, and I played my week one game against the Vikings, and I played a whole first half, and it was zero zero, and then I got the ball back before halftime, and I threw a pick six, and then I turned it off.
So that's. I saw you had a little heart attack when the little alert came up about the Packers getting rid of Matt Lafleur. Because I'm the coach, and then EA says Matt Lafleur relieved of duties. If only. Oh, do more ketamine.
Yeah.
I've never done like anything hard. Should I give it a try? If I'm not drinking, should I go into drugs? Ah, if you want to come over and try some mushroom pizza, I can arrange that. Maybe we can do that for for one of these post game shows.
Do you got like a heroin salad? No. YouTube slinging this one for sure. They don't like the drugs. No, no doubt.
That's okay. We're having a good time. Don't give a fuck. I'm costing you money. I don't give a shit, Brewers.
This is the greatest sports day in half a decade for me. Do you guys like this version of me? Do you guys like Happy Bart? This is happy Bart. There's nothing.
There's nothing I hate more than seeing you happy because if you're happy, that usually means teams I hate or players I hate have experienced success, and I don't like that. I've been. I also don't like when anybody is happy. Can I tell you some personal family stuff? Sure.
And then I'll end. Yesterday. Yesterday I was a little like, I don't know. I was a little agitated about something. I don't know.
And there was one point in the day where, world's best dad over here, I yelled at my kid. I yelled. I yelled, and he was sad. And then he like threw a punch at me, like he does.
So today, in between the Brewers and Packers. There was a little outside time where I was. We played a little baseball in the backyard, and and he said, "Daddy," I go, "What's up, bud?" He said, "I like this weekend day better." I go, "Better than what? Better than yesterday when you were yelling at me all day?" I'm like, "Oh yeah." I was in a bad mood yesterday because our fucking soccer team lost. Oh, the humanity!
First loss of the year. I don't care about wins and losses. Actually, I just want our kids to develop. But then, when we lose, I'm in a bad mood all day. I don't know why.
It's crazy. What do you mean, be better? Come on! In my defense, he's being super fucking annoying. Don't yell at my kid.
All right, two episodes today. The Packer one's recorded. Go listen to it, and then this one, and then tomorrow we'll be back. I have a show with Carlos in the afternoon, and then I'm going to do a post game after Brewers Dodgers.
So another double decker live. I might make a brief appearance, so you'll have to go without me tomorrow. But I'll try to pop in and shit on your Cheerios. You didn't today, yet. I'm pretty fucking.
I'm actually happier than when I started, because I got to spend time with you. Oh, it's it's very sweet. Maybe I'll wear my Bob Evans hat next time. Enjoy this ride, folks. Because if I am, you need to also.
Yeah, Carlos and I are going to do sixty minutes on the Giants tie tomorrow at noon. And then I'll be back tomorrow night. Thank you for stopping into the Wincler, the W-I-N for Win, Win. My name is Win. You should.
Are you going to change your graphics to blue and gold instead of green and gold for this playoff run? I'm surprised you didn't do that already. Good idea. I will do that. I will put that into Chat GPT tonight.
No, I had a guy make me these. I somebody made me these. I I paid an artist for my graphics.
Okay, fair enough. I did not use it.
Now, if he used AI, I've got no fucking idea. But I didn't. I certainly did. All right, brother. We'll talk to you after game three.
Thank you all for stopping into the Winkler Verse.
