Greetings, friends and new listeners, and welcome to this program of the Archie Hardy Ministries. I'm Sharon Knotts, thanking you for joining us today as we know that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Today's message by my father Brother Hardy is from his classic series, New Creation Sons of God. A hallmark scripture of Christians is 2 Corinthians 5.17. If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, and this new creature is a son of God or a child of God.
You see, the term Son of God in New Testament Scripture is not a gender determiner, but rather a legal position, which Brother Hardy explains and so much more in this in-depth teaching, New Creation Sons of God. All right, this morning we want to preach on the subject. Who We are in Christ. Who We are in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5, 17 said, If any man be in Christ.
That's where we are now. Once you get Born again once you get saved. The Spirit of God takes the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Cleanses you from all sin. and places you in the spear and the realm where Christ is Lord and Master.
Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:17, if any man or anyone Be in Christ. He is a new creature or a new creation. Old things pass away. Behold, all things become new. One of the biggest problems That we have with the Christian is getting him To think it's a new creature.
A lot of God's people, they're saved, but they still think... In the old mind And they still think as an old creature. And the old creature It's a slave. He's bound. dominated by Satan.
and his demon hordes. and can be manipulated and overpowered Anytime the devil wants to, he's limited. He's defeated. And God wants us to think. As a new creature.
The new creature was free. The Bible said, if the Lord shall make you free, You shall be free indeed. And that if means any will, or you could really translate it, since the Lord has made you free, you were free indeed. You're free. Jesus has delivered you from the powers of Satan.
Powers of Darkness. And transplanted you and translated you into the sphere where he is Lord. You're not a slave. You are a son of a son. Of God.
You are free. You're no more limited. Because the Bible said, I can do all things through Christ. Which strengthens me. And what we have to do is begin to think in this new mind.
Paul in another scripture said, let this mind be in you. which was also in Christ Jesus the Lord. In another scripture, he said, we have the mind of Christ. And when we began to think in the mind of Christ and begin to think it's a new creature. Then we realized that Greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.
and we are able to do all things through Christ that is our energizer.
So what we are in Christ is a new creature. But what is this new creature? We are a new creation. We are no longer a son of Adam. We're no longer A servant.
We're no longer under the dominion of Satan. We are free. We are sons of God. We become a new spiritual being. We are no longer flesh.
Now when I talk about flesh, I talk about The old nature and the old man. We are spirit. We are a new man. We're a spiritual man. Nicodemus came to Jesus in John the third chapter and the third through the sixth verse.
Came by night and wanted to know. About his teaching, he said, I know, we know that you're a teacher sent from God. For no man can do these miracles except God be with you. And Jesus said unto him that classical scripture, you must be born again. You must be born anew afresh.
You must be born from above. Of course, Nicodemus being a natural person and an unregenerated... Thought in the old natural mind and said, Well, how can I, being old, Enter again into my mother's womb and be born again. He was thinking of a natural birth, and Jesus said, I'm not talking about a natural birth. I'm talking about a spiritual birth.
For that which is born of the flesh is flesh. But that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. you must become a new spiritual being.
So what we are in Christ It's a new creation. And this new creation is a spiritual being. And what we mean by a spiritual being means we're no longer... Bound. and limited by the natural and the carnal.
We are no longer governed by the natural. But we are governed by the spiritual, the supernatural. We're no more just mere flesh. Natural human beings, we are now spiritual human beings, the sons of God. I am no longer flesh.
I am spirit.
Now let me. Explain what I mean. The only difference between me and an angel, since I had become born again a new creation. is that an angel is a spiritual being. with the spiritual body.
I am a spiritual being. with a human body. But it isn't going to be very much longer. I am going to be a spiritual being. with the spiritual body because God is going to change this.
vile flesh and fashion it like it unto his glorious body.
So we are a spiritual being. In a human form. Just like Jesus. was a spiritual being, yea. the word of God in a human form when he had his earthwalk.
Paul said that in him 12th all the fullness of the Godhead bodily would have been a human manifestation. Oh, we are now the sons of God. And we are now the brethren of the Lord Jesus Christ. And as he was when he walked the earth, we are like him now in this present world, new creatures, spiritual beings, governed and motivated by the Spirit. And no more by the flesh, because the mind of the flesh is a mind of defeat and a mind of limitations.
But our mind is the mind of the spirit, the mind of the heavenly man, the mind of victory, and the mind without limitations. Hallelujah. We become a member of a new order of beings. Jesus, when he came. founded a new order of beings.
You know, Hitler a few years back Try to make a super race.
Well, I'm sorry, he's 2,000 years late. Jesus made the super race. Because when you become spiritual You're supernatural. You know, all the word super means, it's from the Latin, you know, super means just over and above. In the Greek it would be hyper.
over in the pub. And when you're spiritual, you're supernatural. You're above the natural. You're over the natural. And Jesus came and made a new order of beings.
spiritual sons of God. There wasn't a being like Jesus brought into being. Before He came, he instituted a new order of beings. You know Jesus is that unique one. He's the only God like him.
There's no other God like Jesus. I mean his father is not like him. And the Holy Spirit is not like him. He is the unique God. He is the God man.
God and humanity met together in union. in the Lord Jesus Christ. He's the unique God. He's the only one. He was the only one of his kind.
The Bible said he was the... Managanus or the Managanese are the only begotten, and that means the only one of his Genesis. When Jesus came into the world Born by his father God and his mother Mary. He was the only being in the universe Like him, there was no other being like him. There wasn't a man like Jesus and there wasn't a God like Jesus because he is the God man.
He is God manifested in humanity. And when we get born again and the Spirit of God takes the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ and cleanses us from all sin and the word of God, the seed of God with all the attributes of God and begets us into then this new creature. We become a new spiritual being and we become a member of a new order of beings, even divine men, if you please. Hallelujah. The only difference between the Lord and And you and I was that he was God without a human nature.
And in order to become a God man, he had to. Hand on humanity. And we were human without a God nature. And order to be like Jesus, then we had to add the God nature. And that's just what happened when we got born again.
We got that new spiritual God nature or divine nature. As Peter said in... 2 Peter 1:5, where thy are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises, that by or through these exceeding great and precious promises, we might become a partaker of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. When we get born again, brother and sister, we receive the divine nature, the nature of God, and we escape that corrupt nature of Adam that's in the world, and we are a member of a new order, honey. We are superman, for we are divine man.
Hallelujah. Divine men. Paul said in Romans 8, 29, For whom he did foreknow talking about God. God foreknew in the beginning, the Bible said, known unto the Lord are all his works from the beginning. Before God ever started to create.
Before he ever stepped out on a platform of nothingness. and spoke the worlds into existence. In his infinite wisdom he looked all the way down through the lines of eternity. Through all the lineage of mankind from the first Adam he would create. to everyone that would ever get saved.
Even to you and I in this day and time. He looked down and he knew if he presented the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. that we would accept it. And he foreknew it. And then he called us.
in history. When we came into existence and at the right time, God gave us the invitation. But back in them eternity past, he knew we would answer. And when we enter Then he predestinated us. To be a member of this new order of Supermen, this new order of new beings, the new creation, spiritual beings.
Yay. Divine men. And he said in this Romans 8, 29, whom he foreknew, he did also predestinate them to be conformed to the image of his dear son, that Jesus might be the kind of first fruits of a new creation. He was the first one. He was the first one in this new order of beings.
But then God determined, and God foreordained, and God predestinated that every child of God, every son of man that would receive Jesus as their Savior and confess their sins and allow the Spirit of God to take the blood and cleanse them from all of their sins and receive the word of God and create and make them a new creation. Then he determined and predestinated for them to be just like Jesus, conformed to his image. Paul said in Romans 12, 2. Do not conform to this world. The world's trying to stick us in their mold.
Don't let the world stick you in its mold. Because the mold of the world is lust. The scheme, don't let the world stick you in its scheme. In fact, the Greek word, we get a ringless word scheme from it. Don't let the world stick you in its scheme.
What is the scheme of the world? John in 1 John said, Love not the world. Neither the things of the world. For if any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. That's very plain.
For all that is in the world is the lust Of the eye. and the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. The scheme of the world is the pride of life. the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eye. And that's what the devil...
And that's what the world is trying to make you. Mold you. Fit you into the scheme that all you are dominated by is the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eye and the pride of life. Paul said, Don't you be conformed. Don't you let the world put you in the scheme, but rather let you be transformed.
and the Greek word is a big mouthful and I'm going to say it, metamorphu metha. Oh, you know what a metamorphosis is? You ever studied in school? The metamorphosis of a butterfly? Metamorphosis of a toad.
That's a good illustration of the metamorphosis of a sinner into a child of God. You know, meta just means after, amorphous means form, the after form. We were a sinner, but when Jesus transforms us, we have an afterform. That little old wiggly worm In the early spring, crawling around that fuzzy thing that when I was a kid in school, we'd gather them up and throw them on all the girls and scare them. They were afraid of the wiggly worm.
That's what we were in sin. We were wigglyworms. Or we were tadpoles. if you please, in stagnative filthy sin. If you please.
Oh, but that old wiggly worm eats all it can and spins a cocoon. And honey, we need to eat all the word of God we can. and let the Spirit of God put a covering of protection on us. And that wiggly worm gets in that cocoon and a metamorphosis taking place. A change is happening.
That thing that went in that cocoon is not going to be the thing that comes out of that cocoon. Oh, and that sinner that enters into the new birth is not going to be the person that comes out of the process of the new birth. He went in a fearful. Evil. We keep the peace.
Shitter. Dominated by the devil and sin in the world. And he comes out a glorious Son of God. Hallelujah. dominated by the Spirit of God and the Word of God.
Hey, and all of a sudden... That old cocoon begins to burst open. And everybody's looking for a wiggly worm to come out. But on a wiggly worm don't come out. A beautiful butterfly comes out.
Hallelujah. And when you put them two together, there is no resemblance at all. You could not tell that that came from the same family. Here is an old earthborn wiggly worm that crawls all over the place and is limited and can't go anywhere very much and very slow climbs. But out of there comes that beautiful butterfly.
Hallelujah. And he spins his wings and he can fly all over the heavens. It's not a strange thing that the Greek uses the word for soul as a butterfly. Pasiki, pasuke, or psyche. I don't care what you want to call it.
Hey, God changes our psyche. God changes our psechi and our pesuke. Our soul from an old, dirty, earthbound, sin-dominated creature. And he makes us a spiritual butterfly. Hallelujah.
Free with all of his attributes. Praise God. Kiss. wonderful name.
So if you're in Christ You're a new creature. Old things pass away. That old life. That old knowledge That were Dominated by sin. that were slaves.
The good we want to do, we do not. The evil we don't want to do, that we do. Sin dwells in us. It is the domino of the Lord. It has dominion over us.
We're dominated by it. No, those old thoughts pass away.
Now we know. That we are The sons of God.
Now that we know that we have His spiritual nature. That divine nature.
Now we know we have escaped. the power of corruption that's in the world. No, now we know that we have escaped Satan and that we are free. And no longer are we dominated by him and his evil spirits. But all, we are a new creation.
We are the spiritual sons of God. And like John said in his letter, 1 John, beloved, now are we the sons of God? And it doth not yet appear what we shall be. But when we see him, we're going to see him as he is. And then he is going to change our vile body and fashion it like it under his glorious body.
Hallelujah. Raise your hands and praise him. Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah. Amen.
