Christians must sin-proof their lives by removing themselves from situations that lead to temptation and sin, and by setting boundaries to protect themselves from the enemy of their soul. Habitual sin has consequences, and the Bible is clear that sin must be acknowledged and dealt with in order to achieve true freedom and spiritual growth.

Greetings, friends and new listeners, and welcome to The Sound of Faith. I'm Sharon Knott, thanking you for joining us today because we know faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Today's message is good old-fashioned preaching we all need but don't often hear. Sin proof your life. Have you noticed?

Sin is not what it used to be. And this is a fulfillment of Jesus' prophecy from Matthew 24. Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. The Greek text actually means because lawlessness or a disregard for God's laws shall abound, many shall gradually lose their love for Biblical truth, making sin a minor issue. It's time for all who represent Christ to sin-proof your life.

Now, you see, I'm going to go for just a moment here. You've got to realize that when Jesus changes, I'm going to try to simplify the word. But the reason why I'm going to give it to you is because condemnation is the first time that I've read this many, many, many years ago. It has suffered great ever since. For the long time, some of you are groaning, but you're saying this.

He was cracking the door open. But how many know to groan? He wanted to say the law of Moses and done it over with. They weren't there yet. He had been to the cross, but he was cracking the door open.

He wanted to show her bread. He wanted to show her mercy. He did not want her to die. Amen. And yet he could not speak against the law of Moses.

So he was basically saying, okay, if you want to pull out the law of Moses that says she's to be stoned to death. I'm going to pull out the law of Moses. I'm going to see how you measure up to the law of Sipples. Always ends in I-N-G. And they are.

I-N-G. And how do you think that if I say it's right on down to the youngest? I don't know what that means. One day I might figure it out. The absolute is in the past.

But here's the thing. Here's how to show her grace and mercy. Translate. But people take aside everything. And they try to imply and say, you can't judge me.

And the sincere easily beset us, let us run the race with endurance. You sinned. Because having laid aside refers to an action that was completed in the past. You sinned, but I'm forgiven. Not only was that action completed in the past, it had to be completed before the action of the main verb in this sentence.

Amen. And only saved us from weight of sin that doth so easily. He saved every last one. Let us run this race with patience. Everything knows what the main burden is.

He saved us from the death penalty. The main burden of all that other stuff. And so you take that away. The main burden is that you pray. And we cannot call sin sin.

The main version of the problem we have is one. We live in proliferation. Let me back back to what I said a minute ago. And now the pastor is a little bit different. Judge me.

Action in the past must be completed before the action of the main version. What does that tell us? What does all that mean? It means that before you can set you free. I set you half.

How many see how important that is? Even if you forget all the grammar I just told back. Do you understand? You can even put in the market of your Bible. Having back into that sin.

Don't go back into that. Having laid aside the sin where you are tempted to be free from the soul.

Now those people can run that. And say, but they're not. They're my buddies. I won't quit. I won't fall by the way.

If you won't come to that sin, you've got to cut tithes with them. I won't. Amen. Don't go back to it. You're going to sin again because I've only got to put a sign in the past.

You cannot return. There's a whole lot of people. Amen. Because let me tell you something. Habitual sins have consequences in the English.

And every time I come across the world, I mean you can repent, and every time it's much more powerful, how can you do that? How can we agree that that makes it more intense? The Lord will forgive you. And you really can see it. Amen?

There's only one thing that you don't complete the action of laying aside, you're not going to be able to every time that you genuinely repent. Because you're always going to have that thing besetting you. Let's look at the body. It's always going to be in your way. You're always going to be tripping over it.

It's always going to be pulling you down. And by the way, John's the only one that gets you. The word beset, we don't use it very much. It means to be surrounded by something everywhere you turn. There it is.

He could figure out surrounding you on every side. In fact, the Greek word is hooper stastos. Further removed. And the word hooper. We bring it over to the English and we say hyper.

So what do we mean when we say somebody's hyper? And now we have to hit the house. It means to the ultimate degree, whatever we're talking about, they are hyper. They are we even sometimes bring it over and they lay him down. We bring hooper, we call it hyper.

We bring hooper, we call it stastos. I don't understand it. The idea is it's intention. I don't understand. And so the word stastos there means to stay.

There were many sick people standing around me. And they just stayed. That means these things that are surrounding you are very strong. In other words, he would move the water and trying to get you out of the race. Water.

Amen. These things that you're not taking care of in their lives, if you don't deal with them, if you don't lay them aside, if you don't get rid of them, they will continually always be surrounded. It was raining and it must have been preventing you. And if it does, then your electric goes off and the pump goes off. Amen.

And Benny's only got so many times that just get in there and look at that because those are so powerful. Because the world is not a good thing.

So, we have got to come to a place in our mind. And if you're awake in your heart, there's that one thing that you're dealing with. Oxygen level goes to the body. And we know it's different for everyone. It could be just like a spiritual problem you're dealing with.

It doesn't always happen. You can get oxygen going there, they're all over the place. Bad stuff. And so it was a problem. It doesn't always happen that it could be a spiritual problem.

Whatever it was, I could be understanding it all. Let's just suffice to say that's what the Bible says, so I'm going to believe it. Because God's going to be a problem. But the first person. And the Bible stumbled.

When the angel got a wounded, that person stumbled. And this man came trying to stumble because he was lame. Amen. So it could be a spiritual sin in your life.

Someone always stopped. It could just be that you got it unsanctified now. Amen. Amen. Let's look at it.

Whatever it is of Jesus now. You've got to lay it aside. Jesus said. It's a complete action now. It's time in that case.

And now he has been crippled for a long time.

Now you're dead under him.

Now you can run unequivocally. Will now watch the people in the ways of the holy bix and things. They wear the body.

Now, he was not asking this man if he wanted to be healed from his thinner than he. Obviously, the man wanted to be healed, or he wouldn't have been there. They got children. How do you understand? Why do you ask them if you didn't want to get healed?

Trying to give people a edge. He wouldn't be there. They didn't want to get healed. He didn't want to walk. And now they can.

So why did Jesus say when you were made whole? I remember there's a difference between being made whole and just being able to walk. Because we know that 1 Thessalonians 5:23 tells us that the marriage when they got in the whole world. He was sanctified as her. Holy double.

I think it was the United States. We had to switch our suits. And denominations were saying that. That's the definition of being whole. You can have a sensual body and be sick in the spirit.

That's what you need. Amen. You can have a sense of God. What spiritual things you get is going to get you. You're going to listen.

Amen. All that kind of thing. And that you're not weighed down. On the other hand, there's some people who are very rich. Very godly, very righteous, very holy.

They're very wise. But they make fight. First weakness in their body. The first way to get rid of something that's besetting you. I personally know that.

It's besetting you. But here's the point. And I think the point is to Christians now. He said, Do you want to kind of know where they are? The reason that I'm going to talk into Limits and say that I believe that's more than just as healing is because what he said in verse verse 14.

Let's look at verse 14. You got to call it afterward. Don't tell me you got a character for it. Afterward, Jesus findeth him in the temple and said unto him, Don't tell me, Tell me it's a chink in your art made whole. Call me what it is.

If you want to get rid of it, you've got to see it as a sin because when you think it's sin, you will be more motivated than just a matter of whole in his body. Turn with me. I'll paraphrase a lot of this. Amen. And that's why, whenever you're ministering to someone who's coming to the well, especially if they've been in Sicily and you met the woman at the well, a lot of times you've got to minister to their soul.

You can't just pray for them. And they begin having a lot of people. And they've got other stuff back and forth outside of them. Especially if they're filled with doubt and fear that I have and unbelief. And you can pray for them and they could get survived by going back to me.

And so let's go. And here comes all that doubt and fear and unbelief coming in to this point in the story. You need it worse. Enticing her with the sins of God. And I'm going to put it in the head under that.

And verse 14 says you have problems with the water that I shall give them. If they've got a breast, but the water that I shall find in his spirit or sin. Say well of God. It's still over your body. To everlasting.

How many say amen? And you've got all this stuff going on. They've got to get hold in their spirit, in their soul, they've got to get rid of bitterness. They've got to forgive people. I've heard countless testimonies.

I've got to release people for a long time, but they have to get rid of them. Water, and then one day they forgave somebody that they had been spoken to. She's thinking that verse 16. And flesh and heart that got healed. The woman says, Sir, give me this.

That I thirst not, neither come hither to draw. Go your way now and sin no more. Jesus.

So he has been so sincere. You have to call it sin. Amen. That's the first thing you have to do. Just bring her in.

And you have to recognize it. And when you get set free, you've got to decide I'm going to stay free. Let's look at Galatians 5. Go calling them down. Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again.

I have no hope of the yoke of bondage. And Jesus said to her, Thou hast set you. I have no husband. You're about to save five husbands. We read it in Romans.

And he whom thou now hast is not thy husband. And I'm just from John 8, where we were. How powerful? Verse 34.

So Jesus answered and said, verily, whosoever committed on this miracle of the servant of sin, and the servant of God becomes in the house forever. But the conviction was now taking root in her heart. If his son, then she said, shall make him free. And he said, You shall be free. Free indeed.

We are living in sin. Set free? And stay from five husbands. Amen. Now, I know what that verse in Ephesians says.

We don't know if that means she's been widowed five times, and if so, I'm blame the next guy from not wanting to marry. Stop a negative action. But chances are it wasn't she transferred five times in her devil. Chances are, though, she just went from one bad marriage to the next. Amen.

That's what I think. Don't deal with it anymore. And we know she has a lot of people. This time, numbers. Yeah.

That's just cheating on the ball. That was really Amen. Let him that drinks nobody else would drink and taste other women of the town who were properly married. Let him that curses and curses either early morning or late. Let him that loses his temper.

Amen. So he called it what it was. He said more of our family from sin.

Sooner or later, and God doesn't care up in the new year.

Okay, I'm talking right now. I want you to look at me. I don't care who it is. If you have a marriage, if they're living together and you're not married, they're in sin. I'm going to say it because it's the truth.

Now, if you're a parent, I'm not going to show favoritism. I don't have a double standard. It's God's word. It's what it is. And pull themselves up.

You had to apologize for it because of the truth. How many know?

So, if you have to get them little families that are in that situation, we need to pray that the Holy Ghost convicts them, that they get right and do the right thing. You've got to put, I don't know what they call them, those things. Amen? The prongs that fit in the city. Because, of course, you don't throw your love things out the door, amen.

And say, I don't ever want to see your face again. Down on the ground, like a family of people. Amen. We love them. And we show them the true love of your kitchen and we do the right thing, but at the same time, we don't compromise the word of God for anybody, for anything, that sort of thing.

And today is the I'm asking if you have a dishwasher, or even you wash your kids.

So we called it these new little packs now. He said, I use them for my dishwasher. Little packs.

So the first thing you must do. If you want to lay aside a toy to a kid at every wave that perception, the first thing you've got to do is all had chances of children eating because they're thinking they're candy. Amen. So you've got to put on your cap. The Word of God and the Spirit of God and the blood of Christ set you free from that thing.

Don't pick it up again. They're smart enough to figure that one out. Don't go back to it. Which means you've got to put it on it. Put a return to it, or you'll end up like we already read in that.

But you've got a child chapter. Every time you choose it, you'll go back to the big tiny TV sitting on a table that might be rickety. You understand? And that little crawling toddler pulls himself up and boom. I remember having myself thought children come back after, you know, kind of by TVs falling.

Bookcases falling. You've gotten those child-proof your homes. I guess you're not. You know, and you know you're going to be busy and you can't keep your time, but you know, you've got to cook dinner or something. And he had put out that play yard.

While he had was back. How many no, you put those bookcases and all that stuff. And they were setting up a campaign when they were in the middle of the day. Boundaries for their safety. Boundaries to keep them out of danger.

Boundaries to protect them from things they're not wise enough to realize. And then when you finally let them go outside and play in the backyard or whatever, what it is. It is. You either put it in those play yards, or like I did. He's not very strong kids.

We had to put a fence. Very strong will do something. He can do it. Amen. You've got to set boundaries for them.

Child proof your life. I mean, you set boundaries. And you've got to sin proof your life. You've got to set boundaries. You've got to set boundaries and say, I'm not going over this boundary.

I'm not going in that area because I'm exposing myself to temptation. Amen. Because you're vulnerable. And when you put yourself in a vulnerable place, the enemy of yourself is never halfway. He's poised way.

He wouldn't even go outside. He didn't want me to see you. The doctor did not reach him. I never saw him. I never saw him smoked.

Where you live, literally. But I knew he smoked. He knew. And your body smoked. The house that God gave street and around where you're going to have until we check out.

Amen. You've got to sin-proof it. Let me give you a few verses. You can turn if you want. You definitely need to market.

Not that God can't set you free. Romans 13, 24. You are so nonchalant, and you're supposed to be afraid of the people. But put you on the Lord Jesus Christ, and I'll put it down later. And make not work provision for the flesh.

You've got to lay it aside once and for all, whatever it is. And once it sets you free, I think it's very plain. You've got to say this. Amen. Let's go to John the 8th, chapter 15.

And one that matches this very good is 1 Thessalonians and 5:22. Jesus went unto the mountain from early in the morning and came again to the temple, and all the people came unto him, and he sat down and taught. I should have told you why he was taking the temple. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in the middle of the woman. Let not bend your name in the midst of him.

So let's match these all together. Let's put these together. Amen. Amen. Now, if you don't make provision for your flesh, like I already brought it out.

But now You've got to remove yourself from all situations that they might have to accuse you to fall into that temptation and the sin that does so easily beset. You can't hang around with people that pull you down into that sin. Whatever problem you had in the past, whatever it may be, you have to make sure that you set boundaries for yourself. Amen. If you had sexual partners who were saved, and they're still trying to get with you.

They didn't care whether she got stoned. Cut that friendship off. They did not care about that woman. Amen. Now, I know when some people get trained and come to Christ, they don't know anything about that.

Jesus stooped down. They don't know anything. And he rode on the ground where nobody has any boundaries. What is he doing? There are no sexual boundaries.

There are none.

So when they continue asking him, he lifted up himself and said unto them, There's already pedophilia become legal. Let him first cast his wife. I don't know what that means. And again, society I can't think of the name. They're addicted by their own men and beliefs.

Went out one by one. And so that they say they just like everybody else can't help themselves until the last lesbians can't help themselves. They can't help themselves. They love them. And when Jesus had lifted up himself and wanted none but the woman, he said unto her, and you can shake your head and say, That'll never happen.

Yeah. She said, Whoever thought same-sex marriage would ever happen. Jesus said unto her, There are no more boundaries now. The Bible says when the walls of the city fall down, every uncleanly. Stoop down and begin to do that.

There are no boundaries in the world. You've got to set boundaries for yourself about what he's doing. You've got to cut ties with your former sexual parties. I'm of the persuasion. If they're not saved, you've got to cut ties with them because you're going to be aware of that.

And sometimes when Peter comes before you, they don't know that, and you've got to tell them, you've got to let them know. I don't think I embarrass Lonnie. He's been saved how many years ago. And so I believe he wrote a commandment. And you break them down.

Whatever he does, he does with all his heart, all his might, all his strength. He's like, 100%. He's in it. And so he's writing them. Totally saved.

And they at first love which he did not know what he was doing, but when he stood up, he didn't know that that was. Amen. When he first stood up, he lifted himself up and he said, Now he that is without sin first casts a stone. And I'm to him. I know it might be semantic, but it's important to me.

A lot of times people will say that he said, he that is without sin casts a stone. You need to bring her to church and get her son. How many know that you hear that? Yeah. Cast the first stone.

That is not what he said. She didn't want to get saved. He said, first, cast a stone. She doesn't want to get saved. Because if he had said, cast the first stone, that would imply that more than one person now could cast a stone at her.

But because he said first cast a stone, he was saying that there's a despotic sicklest person among you. And so you think, well, I need to make it on my own. He was not broken in making these commandments independent.

Some people think that becoming that you're going to stay here. Not cast the first stone as though there will be other stones died. I think your soul is more valuable. But be the first one. Your soul is more valuable in the bank book.

That's what it was saying.

So I told him when they say end Jerusalem, she has not only how that works. But you know what? I could stand up here and preach, and I could go off on a tangent, and I could just tell you you see, you're you, you're this, you're that, and the other, and you're going to hell, you're condemned, and then you've got to cut down social media and tell everybody. The Bible said I preached this not too many weeks ago, the Fs of a Christian. It's the word that you could follow, fight.

Flee. If you have occasion, amen.

Someone has to leave. A lot of times you don't need to have to say we're not going to happen together because the word God convicts their heart. Amen. It convicts their heart. And this is what happened here.

Thank God that even though they were always on the opposite side of Jesus, they still had a conscience that already broke that law. And number two, they had a conscience that was very apparent because of that. And when they saw what he wrote and they were thinking that everybody believed that when you said you're not having sex, when you've been living together having sex before, and now all of a sudden you're bad. Let's look at what happened after they go to heaven. They were all gone.

Your friends said to her. Your family, accusers died. I don't believe it. Do you all believe it? Does nobody believe it?

Who believes it? Let me see your hand. You know what people do today with this sort of thing. And when he says no, you're breaking the word of God. And you're fooling themselves and they run with you.

And you're deceiving them. And they say, who are you? There's no such thing as well. We're living together because they are an obvious, open, incontroversially sexual party. You all know.

Everybody knows. If you want to get technical, but if you call them out on their sin, you to judge me. Many of them are sincere. You don't have sin. You can't judge me.

And they don't even know what the meaning is. And it's strictly plutonic. But they're failing the T that condemns thee. Abstain from the very appearance of evil for people that don't understand that. They believe that if you know of people sexually activated.

Sentence upon what you're up to. It means to pass the sentence upon and then to execute the sentence. A lot of people are sitting over there in city jail, but not all of them are going to be condemned because a lot of them are going to go to trial and they're going to say. But the ones should they say, oh, guilty is charged. What happens?

Then they're condemned. And some people should be passing the sentence or the jury or whomever it may be. I know I'm not sinning. I know I'm living. And what Jesus was saying to the woman is: is there nobody here that passes sentence?

The scripture does not allow you to do it. Is there nobody left here? The scripture says don't let your good be evil spoken of. She said, No one left. You must care what people think.

The scripture says abstain from the very appearance of evil. I care what people think because when I get in the pulpit to preach, I want you to believe me. And when I preach in a home like this and it's uncomfortable for you, I don't want you to be sitting there thinking, yeah, but I know what she does. You see, he was wanting to show her mercy and grace. You've got to remember that.

Yeah, but I know what she does and what she lets go here in her family. That's why I made it quite clear. Condemnation. What does it say in John? Where I stand.

It says, and we beheld his glory, full of grace and truth, and of his. When your kids turn 18, you're very limited. Grace has came by Moses. Full grown. But grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

He was cracking the door open. Don't say I don't care what people think. He couldn't, especially if you were in the world. He was in the ministry. They weren't there yet.

You know what James said in James 3:1? But he was my brethren. He wanted to show that grace. He wanted to show her mercy. He did not want her to die.

Be not men. And yet he could not speak against the law of Moses.

So he was basically saying, Teaches more than others because God says she's to be stoned to death. I would have pulled out a law of Moses. We are bad. I want to see how you measure up to the Moses. And notice James said we.

He didn't say you, he said we. He put himself in that frame. It's interesting that he was the pastor of the church to the left. Because he knew today what's going to come, but he's going to figure it out. The judge would give an account.

But here's the thing. Did he? He wanted to show her grace and mercy. Is what it was. But people take it.

I want to say this. And they try to reply and say, you can't judge me. I don't care if you teach how you teach at Sunday school. Amen. You need where we stay.

You sinned. I think we made it clear from this pulpit where we stood. We're a sinner and how do we forgive you against this new sin? But I'm condemning the world of sexual sin and marriage. We made it clear where we stand.

And if you're going to preach and teach in this church, you must be in agreement with where we stand. You cannot preach and teach in this church. He saved every last one of us on the cross. Every one of us. We've had the other side of the page.

But we've got to protect. When I'm in church, I'll come along with it. And so that's when I have my own opinion. And it doesn't matter. Your own opinion does not match our opinion as the faith happened.

And that big problem we had cannot hold. We live in political correctness. Because we've got to be careful. And now we're going to have an end to meeting soon. With preachers, ministers, and teachers.

Because we've got to protect ourselves. And they'll be proud of the people who are going to be able to do that. Because they're coming after churches. They're going to come after us and they're going to change these churches to be test churches. And they're going to come and demand that you allow same-sex marriage to take place in your church.

And you rent out your dining hall for a same-sex free. We should not stone you. And we've got to make it clear that we've already set the standard, that we are against it, and that this church will not come back into the marriage. And then the people that is a minister of this church and that's it. Don't come back into that.

Because if he were in one place and see if just one you were tempted to drink what he set you free from and say we're going to be able to do that. Don't go back and hang around those people that still do that. What you put on the title of people because if they come after us, if they're going to tempt you and pull you into that sin, you've got to cut ties with them. Amen. Don't go back to it.

We have taught other people to be able to do it.

So, first of all, you've got to cause sin and sin. And second of all, they set you free because you cannot protest. to be involved in that same-sex marriage. Amen. Because let me tell you something.

Habitual sins have consequences. Amen. Now, I'm not saying, I mean, you can't repent. Church members. The Lord will forgive you.

And only church members, because if we start running out the back, we open up pancakes, and then we've got to hit the one who gives you that one time for somebody. You've got to remember that death has consequences to stick somebody in there. and try to make it a legal problem. and the law is against us now. Amen.

Unless you have established, I've been doing, I've been looking into this, unless you have established it, it is understood by all your members, it's understood by all your ministers where you stand on the issue. Then, if it comes up, you can say, This is what we believe, we've made it public. And it is our history. And you cannot force it on us. How many understand?

Amen. So you've got to sin-proof your life. Amen. Because the enemy of your soul is coming after you. I'm going to stop here, have more notes, but I'm out of time.

Amen. But I would like to just share this one little thing from you as I was going through things. This is what. This is the litmus test that Billy Graham established. For his ministry and for those who were part of the Billy Graham Association many, many, many years ago, this was the litmus test, whether or not you should do something, whether or not you should permit yourself a certain liberty.

Because some people say, well, I have liberty to myself. Here's the litmus test that Billy Graham had, and I like it. Number one. Does it violate any principle of Scripture? Number two.

Does it take the keen edge off of my relationship with Christ? Um Number three. Does it put a stumbling block? before anyone. And number four, Can I ask God's blessing on it?

How many know a lot of things would fail that test? If you're about to do something and you get that uh-uh in your spirit, You need to check with the Lord. Lord, is your blessing on this? Because I'll tell you what, if it's not, He'll let you know. He will let you know.

Amen. How many women? Want to go into the new year, you want to be set free indeed, and take no baggage with you. Come on, stand on your feet, amen?

Now don't forget Thursday night is communion. Amen. And let's be in prayer that this will be a powerful service, that we can go into the new year. Energize. Energize with a new anointing.

Amen. This is a powerful, perhaps not popular, but necessary word of the Lord. Sin proof your life. The Christian world is bombarded with sermonettes of grace and favor to the point that if you preach against sin, you're labeled as a Pharisee and legalist. It has opened the floodgates for sin to run rampant in the church, including the ministry.

And habitual sin has consequences. Sin is not static, it increases. Paul said that when you yield the members of your body to sin, you become servants to uncleanness and iniquity unto iniquity. Iniquity is the disregard of Scripture, and it increases sin. Today the Bible is mocked and desecrated by the world and deluded and ignored by many in the church.

It's time to call sin what it is. It's the only way to get free and stay free. Paul said, make no provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof. If you're a parent or grandparent of a toddler, you know you have to childproof your home to protect them from harm. And in like manner, we must sin-proof our lives proactively by removing ourselves from all situations that open the door for us to fall into temptation and sin.

Paul said, Lay aside every weight and the sin. That so easily besets you, that causes you to stumble and knocks you off course in the Christian race.
