Greetings, friends and new listeners. Welcome to the program. I'm Sharon Knance, thanking you for joining us today on the sound of faith, because we know faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. Today's message, Healer in the House, is an old-fashioned, faith-boosting, can't mean anointed word of the Lord on the healing power of Jesus. When sickness comes as a satanic attack against our bodies, we must rebuke it and claim our healing.
Because Jesus the healer is in the house. Psalm 122. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. We know who wrote that song, don't we? Who wrote it?
King David wrote that psalm. You see, when you love God's house the way He loved God's house, You get happy. You rejoice! You get excited when it's time to go to church. Amen.
He loved God's house. And when the servants came and said, King David, it's time to go to church, and they would have his church clothes, you know. They would have been bringing his royal robes, and please don't forget his dancing shoes. Amen. When they came.
with his royal attire? And said, old King David. It's time to go. Yeah. It's time to go to God.
house he said I got Happy because I was gonna go in the house. Of the king, hallelujah. I'm not sure what I'm doing. You know David is the one who introduced worship music. into the temple of God.
Can you imagine that all those hundreds of years In the tabernacle of Moses, they didn't have music. I can't even imagine church without music, can you? What kind of service would it be? I mean, I love the word, and you all know that. I can teach forever.
But you've got to have some music, people. You've got to worship the Lord, you've got to get the doors of your heart open. And so David was the one. who introduced music into God's house. And we're told in 1 Chronicles, the 25th chapter tells us how that he organized everything.
He had a choir. He had a band section, if you will. He had the instrumentalists, and he took the sons of Asaph and the sons of Heman and he set them up. In the tabernacle, and I like what it says in verse 3. It says, and he told them to prophesy with the harp.
Now how do you prophesy playing a harp? Because you see, the word prophesy doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to say, thus saith the Lord, and give a revelation. You are flowing forth. You are flowing forth from your soul and from your spirit. Amen?
And you know how that feels, there's nothing else equivalent to it. Especially when perhaps in your own worship time you might even make up your own song. How many have ever Sang a song you made up in worship. That's a lot of people. I believe it.
I do because I do it all the time. I don't know if it would be good enough for church. I don't surely wouldn't be good enough to be recorded. But it sounds good and it feels good to me. Amen.
Because I'm prophesying. And you're worshiping. And so he had all these, he had 288 people altogether. And you know what I like about it? If you read it real close, I'm not telling you to go there now, it's kind of tedious in a way.
But if you pay attention to the details, you'll find out there were some women there. In the worship. Because Asaph and Heman had some daughters, and he did not disqualify them. Because they were Girls. He let them worship too.
Amen. And so. David, when he did this, this was a huge thing. introducing worship into the tabernacle. And we all know his Psalms are filled with it and the very last Psalm You know, he goes out with a bang, Psalm 150, praise ye the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary. Praise. God in his sanctuary. Praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him in his mighty acts.
Praise him according to his excellent greatness. You'll never run. Out of things to praise him for if you just concentrate on these. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet. Praise him with the psaltery.
That is a way of saying a stringed instrument.
Sort of like a guitar. And harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance. Praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.
Okay, some of you are going to get nervous now. Praise him upon the loud cymbals. Praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Amen.
And that's why we should be happy when we come into God's house. And we need to realize that this is not just Faith Tabernacle or whatever church you may belong to if you're a visitor, but. This is God's house. And he dwells here in the midst of his people. And I want you to know tonight, in case you don't know, that Jesus is in the house.
Amen? Now, while we're in Psalms, very quickly, I want to look at Psalm 42, a few verses. This is David's. Testimony. Shows you the heart of a man that was a worshiper.
As the heart, or as the deer pants after the water brook, so pants my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsts for God. For the living God. See, that sets apart our God from every other God that's named on this earth. Yeah.
When shall I come and appear before God? Did you hear what he said? When can I come and appear before God?
Now, we know that David was always worshiping God. God was with him just like God's with us when we're not in church. I mean, don't leave him at the church door and. How many take them with you when you go home? Wherever you go on the job and in school and at the shopping center.
But what he's talking about: when can I appear before God? When can I come back into God's house? In his presence. Especially when I'm in a test. My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God?
Did you know that sometimes your tears talk to you? Your tears talk to you. How many see what David's doing here? I don't see no other people so far being introduced here. He said, My tears is what I have day and night.
They're my meat. In other words, he said, They're my food. In other words, I. I am not eating. I'm in this place where I'm not even eating.
I don't even want food. And now my tears are talking to me. And my tears are saying, where is your God? Uh-huh. How many ever been there?
And when I remember these things, I pour out My soul. In me. That's when you just got to pour it all out. For I had gone with The multitude. I went with them to the house of God with the voice of joy and praise with the multitude that kept holy day.
He said, I'm going to remember when I was shouting and dancing and worshiping and singing in God's house. And I'm going to get back there. I'm going back to God's house. Amen. Flip over to 63.
Psalm 63, we'll read two little verses and then we're going to move on. This is David again. O God, thou art my God. Early will I seek Thee. My soul thirsts for Thee.
My flesh longs for Thee in a dry and thirsty land where no water is.
Now that's the superlative metaphor.
Someone who's in a desert without water and has not had water to drink, that is the thirst. That David equates to his thirst for God. Here's the thing, number two, verse two. Here's where we want to go. To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Amen. How many have ever been in a service, and I'll even say in this church, where you've seen the glory of God? Amen. Have you ever been in a service where you have seen the power of God. God in his sanctuary.
How many Yeah. Seen and felt. The glory and power of God.
Well, I want to tell you that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and He's in the house tonight. Amen. I want to tell you that. if you've got sickness in your body If you've been attacked in your body by the enemy, I want to tell you specifically: the healer is in the house tonight.
Now, let's go in the New Testament and to the book of Luke. Chapter four.
Somebody say Jesus is in the house. The healer is in the house.
So you better get ready. Get ready tonight, amen. Luke the fourth chapter, looking at verse 38. And he arose out of the synagogue.
Now he had been in church now. I I say church, you all know that they didn't have churches, they had synagogues. And he said we had been at the synagogue, but now he left the synagogue and what did he do? He entered into Simon's house. You all know who Simon is, don't you?
Who is Simon? Peter, of course. And he entered into Peter's house, and Simon's wife's mother, his mother-in-law, was taken. with a great fever. And they besought him for her.
You notice I emphasize certain words. And he stood over her and rebuked the fever. And it left her. And immediately she arose and ministered unto them.
Now, here we are. If we would have backed up a little bit, we would have seen that we're in the city of Capernaum, which is Peter's hometown. And it was basically Jesus' headquarters. You know, he wasn't all that fond of Jerusalem. Because he had a lot of enemies there.
I mean, I know that's where the Holy Temple was. That was the seat of really Jewish life, Jerusalem. But he had a lot of enemies that did not like Jesus. Even when he was in Jerusalem, he didn't spend the night in Jerusalem. He would leave and go to Bethany, a few miles away, and stay with Lazarus and Mary and Martha.
He loved the Sea of Galilee. And anyone who's ever been on a Holy Land tour knows why. You would love the Sea of Galilee. It is so beautiful. And Jesus grew up.
In Nazareth. Nazareth is one of the towns. That was By the Sea of Galilee.
So that's where his headquarters was. And therefore, whenever he was not in a particular crusade or campaign or needed to be in Jerusalem. He would go back to the Sea of Galilee, to Peter's house.
So we can imagine that there have been many, many times that Peter's mother-in-law had fixed a meal and cooked dinner and lunch and breakfast and everything for Jesus and the disciples. Amen. So when Jesus got there that day, instead of mama being busy in the kitchen fixing a meal, she was in the bed. She was down on her back. She was sick.
And she was very sick. And we read that she was taken with. A great fever. And this Greek word means to be seized by something. It means to be seized by something causing great suffering and distress.
You see, that's how we know it was a demonic attack. You know sometimes you can get sick 'cause you ate bad food. And sometimes you can get sick because you picked up a germ from the kid, from daycare, etc. And sometimes you can get sick because you haven't been taking care of yourself and you haven't been eating right and sleeping right, and before you know it, you just get down a little bit. But this was different.
She was taken. By a great fever. She was attacked! By the devil. And I know something about that.
I know what it's like to be attacked by the devil. Amen out of the blue in your body. And she not only had a fever, but the Greek word is omega. Great is mega in Greek. She had a mega fever.
It wasn't a run of the mill. Snotty nose. It wasn't just, you know, I'm feel a little bad today. I'll be up and about tomorrow. No, this woman was down in the bed and she was suffering.
And so that when Jesus got there, they besought him. Strong words. Oh, Jesus, we're so glad you're here. Mama is so sick. We've never.
I've never seen her this sick. And you know mama, she doesn't lay down in the bed for anything. She's always cooking, she's always preparing, she's always doing something. When she gets in bed, you know. It's bad.
Amen. They besought him when he came that he would help her.
So we can only assume that they had done all they could do. to help her. If there was something that they could do to alleviate her problem, they would have already done it. Amen. And now it was hard for them to see her down in the bed.
You know how hard it is to see someone you love. In the bed, suffering, and you don't know what to do. You know, well, I'll fix you a cup of tea and you'll feel better.
So you go fix a cup of tea. See, you're trying to make yourself feel better. because you feel so awful and so rotten watching them Suffer. and feeling helpless to do something. Amen.
How many know how that goes, especially if it's a loved one or a child or something? You will do everything. You'll get a cold rag, you'll get a warm rag, you'll wipe their brow, you'll give them soup, you'll give them tea, you'll give them ice cream, you'll do anything. But it wasn't helping. This woman was down in the bed.
Taken with. A great sickness. and a great fever. But the moment Jesus. came in the house.
The moment that Jesus stepped Through the door of Peter's house, there was a shifting in the atmosphere. When Jesus comes in the house. The powers. of darkness began to tremble. The powers of sickness and disease began to back Off once Jesus steps over that.
Threshold. and came in Peter's house. Amen. Every Everything changed from that moment on. And that woman That was lying there.
that bed her head was Probably Pounding! She had this. High fever. Hanky Dollo! Sick as she could be, but somebody said, Mom.
Um Jesus is here. Jesus is in the house. And as soon as she heard that Jesus was in The house. Her safe. Meters shot straight up.
Amen. Jesus is here. The healer is here. The healer is It's in the house! And Mama said, I know I will be healed.
I'm getting out of this bed. And Jesus came To wherever she was lying in the bedroom, maybe in the living room, on the sofa, but wherever she was, down in the bed, Jesus came. And here's the thing. He didn't pray Be healed. What did he do?
He rebuked. The fever. See, that this is how we know it wasn't just an ordinary Sickness. We know it was a demonic attack. Amen.
He rebuked the fever. He doesn't always do that if you watch and read Jesus' history of the way he healed people.
Now, if we would have read Matthew and we would have read Mark, and I always. Tell you that you should read the Synoptic Gospels for any. Particular story, read them all, because one will give you a detail, the other one will not give you. And so we see in Matthew tells us he touched her hand. And Mark said he lifted her up.
But only Luke tells us that he rebuked the fever. And that's why I had you reading Luke, because this is important. This is a very important detail that we need to understand. There are some sicknesses that are caused. By a direct attack of Satan.
And you may have, some of you here tonight may know exactly what I'm talking about. When it strikes you out of the blue and seems to just knock the wind right out of you. Amen. And in these cases You must do what Jesus did. You must use your authority that he's delegated to you and to me to use his name.
And rebuke That's sickness. You've got to rebuke the devil. Amen. And let him know that he's trespassing. On God's property.
Because he is a trespasser. You say, well, he's not supposed to.
Well, nobody. Nobody's supposed to trespass. That's why they put signs up, you don't trespass. But that's also why they've got punishment if you do, because somebody always will. There will always be somebody that will trespass.
Amen. and end up down at the court. Before the judge. Isn't that right? And that's how the devil does.
No, he's not supposed to trespass. No, he's not supposed to touch God's property. But if he can get away with it, then he will. But we've got to use our God ordain. Danged.
Jesus delegated authority and kicked the devil out. And when Jesus walked in. Peter's House, the devil had to go. Amen. Satan had to go as soon as Jesus was in the house.
And immediately it left her. Amen. So Jesus is in the house tonight. I'm hoping you're getting that message that Jesus is in the house tonight. The healer is here.
We're not waiting for him to show up. He's here. Amen. And so we need to know that if the enemy has been trespassing in your life, We're sickness and disease. That tonight you're going to evict the devil.
Amen. Let's go in and read the next two verses.
Now, when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick. Wow. All that had any Do you pay attention to these little determiners? Because they're important. All that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him, and he laid hands on every one of them.
and healed them. And the devils also came out of many, crying out and saying, Thou art the Christ, thou art the Messiah, the Son of God. And he rebuking them, Suffered them not to speak, or allowed them not to speak, for they knew that he was. Messiah. You know the devil knows when Jesus is in the house.
Amen. Amen. And when Peter's mother-in-law was healed spontaneously and immediately, and apparently there was some kind of Holy Ghost grapevine going on. Because People began to spread the word all over town saying, hey! Did you hear?
Did you hear that Peter's mother-in-law, how sick she was? Yeah, I heard about how sick she was.
Well, did you hear? Jesus is in the house. And he prayed for her. And she is now up. And she's in the kitchen cooking.
And somebody said, well, if Jesus is in the house, I'm going to Peter's house. And the Bible said the sun was going down. It was getting dark. They didn't have street lights like we have. Amen.
They got their little candles out and they began to pour out of their neighborhoods all over Capernaum. And before you know it, there was a line at Peter's door because they heard that Jesus the healer was in the house. And they brought all manner of diseases. And anybody that had a sickness. It didn't matter.
How small it was? or how great it was, or how chronic it was. All diseases Very kinds of diseases They all showed up at the door. And Jesus prayed for every one of them. He's no respecter of persons.
Do you think that maybe he had a little soft place in his heart for Peter's mother-in-law? Sure, he did. Yes, he did. That was Mama. She cooked dinners for him and his disciples.
He stayed there. Of course, he had a soft, tender spot in his heart for her. But he's no respecter of persons. Amen. When the sick were lined up back.
the door Jesus didn't turn them Away. He wasn't too busy. He wasn't too hungry. He wasn't too tired. He didn't say, come back tomorrow, it's getting dark.
He didn't say yet, you know, I haven't had a chance to sit down and eat yet. And that was Jesus in his earthly body. That got tired, that got weary, that got hungry. That got sleepy. And now, do you think that the glorified Jesus Christ?
The glorified Lord. Amen. You think that He's going to be too busy? That He's going to pass you by. He's going to heal Mama, but He's going to pass you by.
He's going to heal brother so-and-so or Sister So-and-so, but He's going to pass you by. The devil is a liar. If Jesus is in the house. If the healer is in the house. You can be healed.
Tonight. Amen. Amen. What a faith-inspiring word of the Lord, healer in the house. Whether a sick person has come under a direct demonic attack like Peter's mother in law, or has dealt with a long term chronic sickness like the paralytic, the healing power of Jesus Christ is present to bring deliverance to all.
Often when we are on the way to receiving a miracle or healing, Satan will throw in interference to distract and deter us from receiving. This is when we must press our way and keep our focus on Jesus the healer. Jesus has delegated the authority to use his name to his church, and the Holy Spirit has come to endue us with the power to do the works Jesus did. and he went about healing all that were oppressed of the devil. You can be healed today by the power of God because wherever Jesus' name is declared and believed, the healer is present.
