It truly was a holy night That night when Christ was born Not just because a baby was born There were many babies born that night in Israel But this baby was special he was God in the flesh God with us Emmanuel the son of God came to earth to live a perfect life to die an excruciating death on a cross all to give us the gift we all need the most the gift of God forgiveness That why Christ came Jesus explained his coming this way He said for God so loved the world for God so loved you and me that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in, trust in, clings to him, shall not perish, but have eternal life. You know, this is a time of the year that we're busy giving and receiving gifts, but what a tragedy it would be to go throughout this Christmas season without receiving the greatest gift of all, the gift that God gave us, the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ.
I don't think it's an accident that you're tuned into this broadcast. God is extending to you his gift of forgiveness. You see, the Bible says we've all sinned. I have, you have. We all deserve God's punishment, but God offered a way of escape, an assurance of heaven when we die.
If we will simply believe that Jesus died for us and trust in what he did for us to cleanse us of our sins, we can have that abundant eternal life that begins now, transcends death, and lasts throughout eternity. If you would like to receive God's unconditional forgiveness in your life, I want to invite you to pray this prayer in your heart to God, knowing that God is listening to you right now. Would you pray this with me? Dear God, thank you for loving me. I know I have failed you in so many ways, and I'm truly sorry for the sins in my life.
But I believe what I've heard tonight, that you love me so much, you sent your son Jesus to die on the cross for me, to take the punishment that I deserve to take for my sins. and right now I'm trusting in what Jesus did for me, not in my good works, but in what Jesus did for me to save me from my sins. Thank you for forgiving me and help me to live the rest of my life for you. In Jesus' name, amen. Hearing this majestic music today reminds me of a favorite verse in Isaiah 9, verse 2.
Remember what the prophet predicted? Isaiah said, The people who walk in darkness will see a great light. Those who live in a dark land, the light will shine on them.
Well, the great light Isaiah spoke of was Jesus, our Messiah, who brought joy to the world. And at Pathway to Victory, it's our privilege to tell this story every day.
