Hey everyone, welcome to the show. It's me, Matt Slick. You're listening to Matt Slick Live on this wonderful. First day of October, October 1st, 2025. If you want to give me a call, all I have to do is dial 8777.
2072276. You can also email me at info at carm.org. Info at CARM.org.
Now, I do the radio show from my home. We have all this equipment, and our neighbor is banging on something. He's been building something all day.
So, periodically, if you hear bang, bang, bang, it's coming through the walls through the window. And that's what that is. If you hear anything, let me know if you do. I'm curious. All right, so if you want to give me a call, like I said, 877 Two zero seven two two Seven six um Let's see, different things to talk about.
We could let's just get to the calls and do that right now. Let's get to Alan from Virginia. Alan, welcome. You're on the air. Hey Matt, how you doing?
Hang on in there. You know, just hanging in there. What do you got, buddy? Uh So this this is a A bit bit of a short one, but I'm wondering if this particular supernatural event that happened to me. roughly fifteen years ago was me being saved or if it was something else.
Um Okay. To me, you seem to have some credibility to answer this due to your religious studies and some personal experience with the supernatural. Yeah.
Okay, well I can give it an educated guess. That's all to give it a shot. All good? Um so I think this requires some context pan if you'll fool In a full picture, so I'll need a few minutes to explain. Is that all right with you?
Yeah, go ahead.
Okay.
So I don't have many memories of my life and many are fragmented, but I do remember throughout my childhood that I was taken to churches, mainly Baptist and nondenominational. I believe Jesus is God and his atonement, et cetera, but perhaps this was merely notitia and sensus, not feducia faith. Um I've also experienced multiple weird sensory and supernatural experiences, including but not limited to participating in sorcery or witchcraft. Where this particular event occurred was at a Bible camp while still practicing sorcery. At some point, I asked one of the camp staff members about how does one protect themselves from possession.
This question concerned him, and he brought me back to a side room away from others. He then proceeded to ask me questions like he was reading from a chat. Like, do you believe in God? Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross, et cetera? And I was saying yes to them.
During this though, while I was talking with the staff member, I kept hearing in my head I need to stop. But I knew, but I somehow knew it wasn't meaning for me to stop talking with this person. Let's just stop practicing of my source. How old were you? Um Probably fifteen, somewhere around there.
Okay.
All right. Then this is the weird part. At a certain point. I felt a supernatural presence rip out part or all of my heart suddenly. I've never felt anything like it before, and I was.
It felt like I was paralyzed. but conscious for what felt like a few seconds, but I really couldn't tell how much time passed.
Okay.
Um, and then all of a sudden I started crying. I then had a strong adversion since and never touched practicing sorcery again.
Okay.
Do you think that I was saved there? Or perhaps there's just some sort of great repentance moment? Either one is uh possible. Because repentance is something that Um so I put it this way.
Sometimes God, what He does is He hits us with a hammer. in our hearts and repentance is Steven. But we're all we're already saved. We've been saved and God just goes here, now, wham. It it's just super powerful.
There are other times when people get saved and they repent right then and there of all kinds of stuff.
So God just does things differently.
Now there's the general repentance when we all get saved. But sometimes God will save us, and we have these. Let's just say ties to things in our previous life that He wants us to deal with. And sometimes that doesn't come for a little bit. And Uh then he deals with them.
So there's variables.
So either one is possible. Yeah.
I've also I've also had the uh supernatural cattle prod uh jabbed at me before. Have you ever had something like that?
Well, not only the supernatural cattle prod, but I've also had the supernatural slap-upside the head, and my spiritual 4x4 in heaven is round.
Okay, yeah, it's it's uh God's had to discipline me many times. And that's what's really interesting. You know what, I'm I'm getting toward you know, I'm getting up there towards seventy here and been through a lot and um Um mean which it's really something I review. God's discipline, God's work, God's patience, God's love upon a saved. Sinner.
who doesn't realize he's got some remnants of the old self still crawling around in his heart. And God at the right time brings things up. And then Try and kill that old part. Um Yeah, so Yeah, I'm quite familiar with it, absolutely. Yeah, it's it's quite interesting.
I I I Yeah. Yeah, it is. Yeah, it is. No, I understand what you're talking about. And sometimes you don't have you just don't have good answers.
And that's okay. Because you could have been saved at that moment. You could have already been saved. We just don't know. And I think you would be the best one to.
It's a Decide that. But even then sometimes sometimes you just can't figure it out. I've got some things about my early life and early Christian walk. And I review them through squinted eyes. Why this, that, and I don't get it.
And there's just some things, and we can't have answers sometimes. He doesn't give them to us. And we'll just find out in heaven.
So then that's okay. I I guess that kind of going along with this, Um What Yeah. reading something about how you can tell when you are saved or something like that. What can you give any kind of scripture context to how a believer? can confirm that they are a believer.
We have a change of attitude, for one thing. our relationship with our old habits is is altered.
So when I got saved, It was very dramatic, very instantaneous, and immediately with. within that moment, a radical change in my life. Very different. I mean, from one minute to the next. I had a friend in seminary and he told me how he got saved.
But he and his buddy would go out and smoke pot every day. That was his thing. He would do. And he went to a church and whatever, and he went up forward to receive Christ, sat down. He didn't notice anything different, didn't feel anything different.
Nothing. And he was telling me that the next day, he's going to, whatever, it's just a normal day. His friend called him up and said, Well, I want to go do our thing. And he said, No. and he was shocked.
Eddie said no. Shocked. And he says that's when he knew he was saved. And he didn't feel anything. It's just there was just something different.
I remember that. I remember that story he told me.
So it happens with different people different ways. different times, different intensities, okay?
Okay.
Well, I appreciate it, Matt. Thank you so much. You're welcome, brother. No problem, man. God bless.
All right. God bless. You know, a lot of you out there may be wondering if you're really saved. And uh it's good to wonder that. It's good.
You don't want to be complacent. The Bible says, you know, examine yourself to see if we're in the faith. I forget exactly where, but it's there. And so I do that every now and then. Am I really believing this and that?
I do a review, you know. Am I believing? Yes, yes, yes. And so uh But some of you May not be be so sure.
Well, here's something to think about. What's your relationship with sin? like fornication. pornography Foul mouth. using the Lord's name in vain.
anger. If you experience these things, there's no conviction. Chances are you're not saved. If you experience these things in your ark, you are convicted.
Well, chances are you're saved. But there's no guarantees or way. But it's a litmus test. Because those who are regenerate war with the flesh. if you don't war with your own flesh and the things that are ungodly.
then when your heartbeat ceases, you'll probably go to the fire forever. And you need to be terrified of that. If there's some of you, like you're living together. And that's okay because God understands we love each other.
Well, God understands it's a day of judgment at fornicators. and adulterers will not inherit the kingdom of God. What we do often, what a lot of people do, is justify their sin. by excusing it and speaking for God.
Well, God understands. God will this, God will that. He'll understand my heart. And this paganism and this Filth of lies that's from Satan. that speaks through you and into your heart.
That's what i i is an evidence of not being saved. You see, A true believer. It is not perfect. But a true believer will war with his sin, war with his own flesh. Won't want to do those things, may fall into some things, not excusing anything.
But a true believer has a sign of uh that's manifested in a desire to honor him. And You know, I talk about this living together thing because uh something else reminded me of it today paganism. that's so uh prevalent. If you're living with somebody and you think it's okay, and you're going to church too. Band, you are so fortunate God hasn't killed you now.
I mean, you're so blessed that God hasn't destroyed you. For your your defamation of his character. You claim the name of Christ and you live with someone. in sin. And you say it's okay because, and then you justify it by changing God's decree.
It just shows you, if you're still alive in that condition, it just shows you how merciful God is.
Now, his patience leads you to repentance. I mean, Romans 2:4. You've got to trust in him. And repent of your sin. Turn from your sin, turn from fornication and lying, even simple lies.
so many people, even as Christians, it's just a little lie just to help them out. Oh. I guess that makes it okay, that you can sin. You know, as long as it helps someone out. Yeah, that's what Jesus would do, right?
No, people what they do so often in their infancy. their diaperinian self justification, claiming the name of Christ, and then they often walk in filth in their own hearts and use God and circumstances and motives to justify it. And this is evil. and it's something you need to stop. Don't lie.
Don't Lie. And don't fornicate. Don't live with someone you're not married to. Don't. Watch things you shouldn't watch.
There might be ch children around, so I'm going to be careful. The P word. You must Put the Lord Jesus Christ first. And Let Him divide you from sin. Submit your heart to Him.
And Submit to the truth of God's word.
Now is the time to do that. Not later. God's trying to get your attention. We'll be right back after these messages talking to Jermaine. about the death of uh Body Bottom.
If you want to give me a call, the number is 877. 207. 2276. You ready? It's Matt Slick Live, taking your call at 877-207-2276.
Here's Matt Slick. All right, everyone, welcome back to the show. If you want to give me a call, it is easy. Just out 877-207-2276. You can also email me, and that's easy.
Just send an email to info at carm.org. Info at carm.org. I'm going to give you a heads up.
So it's October. October 25th is the 30-year anniversary of the Carm website. We're going to be releasing a new version of the site. And what we're going to be doing is putting war the word out for people to if they want to To contact me live, not on the radio.
Well, it might have a little bit of people on the radio to do that, but we're going to do something afterwards where I'm going to be having a. an area where people can just Come in and we'll do a video conference, things like that. And they can say, hey, calm this, carm that, or whatever it is. And we can have a good time.
So want to do that. We'll give them more information about that. Let's get to Jermaine from California. Jermaine, welcome. You're on the air, buddy.
And know if you touched upon it, but just wanted to talk about the death of OE Bakum. And uh he was you know, it was a Pastor I respected a lot and Felt he does a lot of good work. Yeah.
A lot of believers were having questions that we I think you kind of alluded to and answered with the earlier caller, but Maybe I can hear you develop it a little bit like I guess the why. Like I guess he's not really having to explain anything, but Does he allude to it? what calling a pastor like that home Relatively early, would there be a reason? Or is it just something we wouldn't discover? Yeah.
And there's a reason, because God works all things after the counsel of His will. Petus has noise. Tell us what that council is. And so Vodi was allowed to pass into his presence. I think we can learn a lesson from Charlie Kirk.
In that, why did God allow that? But look at what the the result has been so much good, so many good things from it. I suspect at Vodhi, the same kind of a thing, though we may not know too much of those great things that. that uh he motivated people to do. And he was a good good preacher, good man of God, You know, he's one of the few guys I respected.
He is. He's one of the very few men I actually respected as a Christian leader. And he's one of them.
So why did God call him? I don't know. You know, I I don't know. But he did.
So Okay. You know, that's just what it is. Right. You know, of course we have to trust his plan and there's I guess we we missed the brother, but you know, where he is right now, there there won't be any suffering or pain and There's glory. But I I do notice the world's response It seems like a faithful preacher doesn't really get any fanfare But If somebody worldly or who's friendly to the world, Kind of passes, it becomes And the rent of the I just look like some of the most faithful preachers.
Preaching truth. It's kind of like, uh, okay. The teenager just moved on. That's the way the world It is the way of the world. is uh It doesn't care about the things of God.
That's what Jesus said, And that's what the Bible says. That's just how it is, and we have to accept that. We just have to accept it. But uh You know, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities in darkness, Ephesians 6 says. And so our job is, like a friend of mine, Bill McKeever said, we're in sales, not production.
And when the world Rejoices over the death of the godly, it just tells you how bad the world is. and how far from the truth it really is. But I'm with you. I'm with you. It's sad, it's unfortunate, but that's just the reality of what it is.
It is. Yeah.
All right, well yeah, that was it for uh Sir Brother Bockham, I'll I'll uh pick up what A question about Charlie Kirk tomorrow. Yeah.
Yeah, I wanted to meet Devotee. I actually know someone who knew him. very well. And um And uh so this guy arranged uh speaking engagements for him. And I I uh I said one day in passing, you know, I'd love to be able to do a speaking engagement with him.
And he said, Well, voting knows who you are, Matt. He said, We could ask him, we could talk about it, and it never came to fruition. Which is fine. But uh Yeah, so He's influenced a lot of people. and the people that I know who know him or knew him are good godly men.
godly people. Who Really had a high opinion of him as well. They said he was a great man.
So, praise God for Bodhi Bacham. Praise God that he had 56 years. Praise God that he was able to influence so many people. Praise God. He left nine children and some grandchildren.
They started a seminary that he was on different continents, busy all the time speaking. You know, praise God that He had such a privileged place in the kingdom to be able to promote our Lord and our Savior Jesus Christ. and I look forward to meeting Bodhi Blackham in heaven. And you too, brother.
So yeah. All right. Well, you know, I'm more willing we we get to do that here on this side of fraternity as well. I'm hoping I'd love to meet you, Germaine. I'd love to love to meet you, so you know, it'll happen one day.
All right, Matt. I love I'll talk to you tomorrow. God bless you. You two men got blood. All right.
Yeah, Voardy was great. He really was good. He really was. All right, let's get to Elijah. From Pennsylvania.
Elijah, welcome. You're on the air. Uh hey Matt. Um My question is Um Are you familiar with the fact that Uh pretty much all of the Protestant reformers uh believe that Uh I I believe that I think I think uh Mystery Babylon was uh the Roman Catholic Church. Yeah, I I'm familiar with that.
A lot of them did teach that. Yeah.
Yeah.
I didn't know that they believed that until recently. And Uh there's there's this book I j I just finished reading. And in the book, the guy said that he believes that uh the false prophet in Revelation 13 is going to be a Pope, and the reason why he says that is because in Revelation 17, It says It it says that, um the woman rep the woman who represents Mystery Babylon uh sits on the the seven hills and in the ten of the uh Seven Hills represents the Seven Hills in uh Rome. And um so So Yeah, and uh so so so he he he said that that it makes sense that the Pope could be the false prophet because It's a religious figure, and Roman Catholicism is mixed with. paganism and also the last Pope said that all roads Now uh leave Heaven.
I'm not sure if that's. still the Catholic Church's official stance. But if it still is, then you know uh why wouldn't they uh then why wouldn't they say that when the Antichrist comes on the scene that That it's okay to follow him and all that stuff. If all roads lead to heaven, especially if the Antichrist says that he's actually Jesus here to set up his thousand year reign on on the earth. You know.
Well, yeah. Um So I don't know if the Roman Catholic Church is Mystery Babylon. Oh, hold up, we got a break, so we talk about this after the break, because this is interesting stuff. Hey folks, we'll be right back after these messages. Please stay tuned.
If you want to give me a call, we have three open lines: 877-207. Two twos. 7-6, we recognize. It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick.
All right, everyone, welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Elijah from Pennsylvania. Elijah, welcome. You're back on. Yeah, I'm still here.
All right, so the issue of Rome, Roman Catholic Church being possible. Mystery Babylon. I think it's certainly feasible. It's a uh It is called the Great Harlot. And uh There's it's also referenced as a great city.
Seated on many waters, on seven hills, adorned and wealthy. I was just in the Vatican last year, November. And uh I I I'm just tell I can, you know, I the riches that were on display. You walk down the halls, it's just incredible. I mean, wow, seriously, just incredible.
So, the riches. And I know that they had a Mass recently in the Vatican there for the homosexual community. LGBTQ And it the apostasy of the Roman Catholic Church is evident. It's a false religion. It teaches uh What does this say?
It teaches a A false gospel. It teaches a false priesthood. It promotes idolatry. It uh has a false view of the Eucharist. It is uh Exclusivistic in that you have to belong to the church, their church, to be saved.
Uh I could speak so much on Catholicism and how bad it is. But it's a false religion. It's not Christianity at all.
So, you know, it might be Mystery Babylon. It might be.
Okay.
Yeah, 'cause um Uh, the reason why I brought that up is because on Google I had typed in the question: does the woman represent? Does the woman represent Mystery Babylon? And then it says yes, the woman in Revelation. seventeen represents Mystery Babylon, and it says that uh she symbolizes The world's system of false religion and worldly corrupt society to stand in opposition to God's truth. And uh because the world's biggest false religion right now is Roman Catholicism.
Yeah, and after that is r Islam. But yeah, and I've said on the radio that Roman Catholicism is the greatest gate of damnation of any religion on the planet. Yeah.
it it's bad uh it's it's just it's horrible roman catholicism and these and i wonder how many people actually i'm gonna do this is do a uh search uh uh how let's see how many members of the Roman Catholic Church. And uh It's over one billion.
Well, Protestantism or Christianity as a whole is 1.2, and Islam is like 1.1.
So The members of the Roman Catholic Church, it says, the research says 1.4 billion. Uh so Yeah, it's uh I'm just going to say it again. Its official doctrines are of the devil. I'm sorry, but it teaches a false gospel, a false priesthood, a false. Uh it it promotes idolatry.
It it's And and when I say this to people, they think I'm crazy. And when I start teaching that stuff to them, they say, what? I had no idea I taught that. Oh yeah, I'd love to do a seminar. on Catholicism.
And the mainstream is the same as the menu of the menu. for four days, four or five days. just exposed to how bad Catholicism is. It is horrible. It is so bad.
And then I have Catholics all the time. When I meet them, they try and And um They remind me of let's put it this way they remind me of of the Muslims in their techniques and their Their aggressiveness. When I meet people online who defend the Catholic Church, they are are never polite. They are very pushy. They demand answers a certain way.
If you don't answer them, then they. uh silence you so you can't respond. And when you do ask a question, they basically ignore it and dismiss it. and go on with something else. I've noticed this pattern.
In fact, the three religions that do this is Catholicism, Islam, and the religion of atheism, because it's actually a religious system. They just have a an ultimate that's impersonal, not personal. And um So stuff like that. But at any rate, yeah, I've noticed that. Yep.
Yeah, it's bad. Yeah.
Um Um, what what was arguing what you say? Um Oh yeah. Have you have you studied the But Oh, well, what's it called the the hysteresis You Historicist view. Mm. Yes.
Uh yeah, I've sorted b a lot of views. Uh-huh.
So, um 'Cause I I I also did a little research on that the other day too. It said that it said that you can actually fit the uh the historist view within premillennialism, uh amillennialism and postmillennialism. Uh Uh do you personally believe that uh uh a Christian make that view work into their eschatology? Or do you think it's a false view of Revelation? I don't know.
I'd have to study it more to see. 'Cause I I don't hear about the historicists very often at all.
So I can't just make it up as I'm going.
So I don't know. But uh There is There are different views. Yeah, I'd have to do some research on it to see. You know, I'm definitely a millennial. And that reminds me when I show people all mill stuff.
Bailer! Heh heh yeah. In the Bible. You know, they get shaken up pretty fast when I show them their pet verses for premillennialism. I show them in context and stuff like that.
And they go, what the? Anyway, so. Anyway, uh Yeah, who's or is his view? Uh you have to check it out to see in the letter there.
Okay.
Yeah, 'cause uh right right now I think the only the only uh Christian uh denomination that actually teaches that view is the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Yeah.
And that's a cult.
So the SDA, the official SDA doctrine is culture. Yeah.
So, um Yeah, and you know, the historic view is dispensational, which I think is a problem. But it's okay. But it does, you know, view the papacy as a form of the Antichrist.
Now, I don't know if you're aware of this, but there's a view coming. uh to maturity uh that the Antichrist may be a Muslim. And that would make sense. I forget, I think it's in 461 of the where is that? Let me see if I can find find the file.
Or excuse me, find the uh documentation. Um Muslims, let's see. Oh, he's talking about the theory that the Antichrist might be the Mahdi. Yeah.
Yes. And so there's there's a theory about it, and I haven't uh checked it out though. But in 841, not 461, 841, the Roman Catholic Church says this: The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator in the first place. Amongst them are the Muslims. These professed to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us, that's the Catholics.
They adore the one merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.
So, because the Roman Catholic Church can't argue its theological way out of a white paper heresy bag with stuff like this, I see. The potentiality of a Muslim, so to speak, Savior coming forth, and Islam will bow to that. And then the Catholics, well, hey, they were the same God anyway, so let's do that too. I wouldn't have any, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened. The Catholic Church did that.
Now, how the Eastern Orthodox would fit in, that's different. I don't know how they would fit in. 'Cause they're also a false uh religious system. That's very similar to the to the Catholics.
So I don't know. Yeah, um I I I have a question because because when I was uh Doing a little research on these different eschatology used the other day. Um Uh it it has said online that the the anal position. Does it actually believe in a rapture. And that and that they're like m Oh, okay.
Yeah, I'm Mom Ill and I believe in a rapture. post-rib rapture. See, it's just it's it's like saying all our millennials be believe this. No. You know what?
So I'm a Calvinist, but I believe in the charismatic gifts. I'm all mill and I believe in the in the rapture. But some are milled and others don't. And a lot of Calvinists don't believe in the charismatic gifts, but I do. There are Baptists who are amillennial and Baptists who are not all millennial.
or premillennial and some who are postmillennial. And then there are Baptists who hold to dispensationalism and Baptists who don't.
So it's just you have to ask each individual because we're allowed to have those differences of opinions.
Okay.
Yeah, um Uh uh do you have enough time for one more question or do you got two for you? No, we've got nobody waiting right now. We've got a break coming up any minute, any second, but go ahead.
Okay.
Um my my question is So so it's like some people in the almond position don't believe in a Rapture, and I think most people in the post-mail don't believe in a rapture either.
So, like, when the Antichrist comes on the scene, the uh To uh to deceive the world. Do you think the People that don't believe in a rapture might might uh The actual Messiah, if they're not like actually regenerate. Of course, they don't believe in a rupture. If they're not regenerate, that's the issue.
Okay, hold on, we got a break. We'll talk about that when we get back. Hey folks, we're right back after these messages. If you want to give me a call, the number is 877-207-2276. We'll be right back.
It's Matt Slick Live, taking a call at 877-207-2276. Here's Matt Slick. All right, and welcome back to the show. Let's get back on with Elijah. You still there, buddy?
You know, I'm Stuart. All right, so uh You're talking about those who b believe or don't believe in the rapture could be deceived. Is that what it was? Um Yes. Because Because those particular people believe that Jesus' second coming isn't going to be the rapture.
They just believe that when he comes back, he's just, I think, going to return to the earth or something like that.
Well, yeah, see, different people can be deceived for different reasons. And uh people can be deceived who are a mil, pre-mil. uh no mill, you know, people are gonna be deceived, uh, just for varying reasons. But you you got in the right issue when you said the regenerate. And so the regenerate won't be deceived.
By the Antichrist, the false teachings of the Catholic Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy or Islam. They'll believe the truth because they hear Christ but they follow him. But uh But you know. Just generically speaking, people could be deceived. From all kinds of perspectives and believe all kinds of false things, they still can.
Just the way it is.
Okay.
Yeah.
Oh. Yeah.
The institution Yeah. Um um it's it's it's interesting. Yeah.
different um these different end times positions. I I think I think the uh the the end times is Probably one of my favorite topics. studying the Bible.
Well, let me ask you, are you a mill, premail, postmail, or what? Uh at the moment I'm premillennial and I stick to the um the uh the the uh post-trib uh rapture in the in the premil camp. But uh I am studying the uh The all-male position at the moment. Then, after I'm done mad, then I'm going to study the the post mill and I'm not sure if I want to study the preteris position because I 'Cause 'cause from what little I've learned about that position, uh uh uh uh that position seems like a doctrine of devils to me. Yeah.
Yeah, it's got a lot of problems in it. It definitely has a lot of problems in it, that's for sure.
So it's refuted by Acts 1:9 to 11. But yeah, so yeah, let me know what you find out, man. You know, study and make sure that you believe what you do because you believe that the scriptures teach, and that's fine.
Okay.
All right. Alright, brother, man, copy. Or yeah. Have a good one. You too, man.
God bless. All right. If you want to give me a call, the number is 877-207-2276. Let's get to Dwight from Ohio. Hey, Dwight, welcome.
You're on the air. Thanks, Matt. Long time listener, first time caller. Couple questions for you. Sure.
W would it be possible for someone who follows a false religion to be admitted into the kingdom of heaven. Depends. say for example the false religion of Roman Catholicism. And someone is going there and is ignorant of a lot of things. Maybe going there for a little while, doesn't know anything, doesn't really understand, is just trusting in Jesus and thinks all this other stuff is a little confusing, hasn't quite believed it, but I'll just keep going forward.
And you know, they could they go to heaven? Yeah, in that sense. What about someone who's mentally challenged, who doesn't really have a full capacity to understand a lot of stuff, is going to a false religion like Catholicism or Eastern Orthodoxy? Could they be safe? Potentially, yes.
The thing is, if someone is attending and knowingly For example, affirming the works of righteousness, false gospel of Eastern Orthodoxy, and Roman Catholicism, and the promotion of their idolatry and their false priesthood. then they if they do believe these things, I don't see how they could be saved. Even though they have the faith and the belief in Christ. That's not the only thing though. Belief in Christ is essential.
You know, he says, believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:1. But the Bible also teaches us And if anyone adds any works to salvation, they have a false gospel. That's Galatians 1:8 and 9, Galatians 5:1 through 5. You can talk about that.
You can go to Romans 3:23, Romans 3:28, Romans 4:5. And so the gospel is that we are saved by grace alone and faith alone in Christ alone. What they do is, for example, in paragraph 2068 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, it says that you attain salvation through faith, baptism and the observance of the commandments.
So they add works to that gospel message, and therefore they teach a false gospel. And anyone who would believe that false gospel and saying, Yeah, I need to do good works in order to be saved.
Well, they're not Christian. And that's a false gospel. They can't be saved in that.
Okay.
Good enough, good answer.
Well, thank you. What's your standard? we've had this discussion on more than one occasion. You know, you show me your faith, I'll show you my works. You showed me your works, I'll show you my faith.
That's James T. it's hard to draw the line. And the only person that will really make that decision. stan the person that stands before the judgment seat of Christ. Yes, that's true.
But yeah, he's the one who's the ultimate judge. But what we can do is say, what we're seeing from what you say and do, we can make a judgment. Because the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2.15 that you can make spiritual judgments. He says, We're able to do that.
So, if someone were to come along and say that Jesus is not God in flesh, they can't be Christian. They're they're in judgment. Very simple. Or they said that he did not rise from the dead. We would say, sorry, if you really believe that, you deny his resurrection, then you can't be a Christian and you're on your way to damnation.
And if we were to say, if someone says, no, you've got to add works to salvation to be saved, like the Catholic Church teaches.
Well then They can't be saved. Exactly. Yeah.
that totally nullifies their justifications. That's right. This is why it's so important to understand your doctrines. That's right. Ha.
Yeah, I think a lot of people don't spend enough time reading through the whole the whole Bible, you know it's easy to get lost in someone else's viewpoint instead of going to the source itself. Oh, you are sick. Gotcha. Then the good Lord will never lead you wrong, and will always show you the correct answer. That's right.
and use the scriptures as a standard of righteousness. And that's the thing the Catholic Church doesn't do. They have some views of it's called primus scriptura, not sola scriptura. Primal means it's primary. But there are other valid forms of authority.
Well, as soon as you say there's other authority systems like their tradition or their church fathers, well then that means they don't believe in the supremacy of God's word, which means I'll believe anything that their church says is true. And this is what happens. Yes. That's why they brought about it. I was wondering about that because.
You know, going through the scriptures, I'm kind of a post-trib person. Good. And so how can the the intervention of the saints that is so Common. And uh Catholic Theology, I guess. I mean, that's always kind of confused me why you would pray to somebody else.
instead of praying directly to Christ himself. I'm with you. And the reason they do it is because they've been brainwashed in a false religion. That's why they do it. They don't trust God's word.
They don't trust God's word, they've been brought up to believe it, or they go through classes and then fallacious arguments that sound good. are promoted.
Well, you know, it's just like asking your neighbor. You ask your neighbor for a favor to pray for you. It's the same thing because they're alive in heaven.
Well, it sounds reasonable on the surface. It tells you to go to Deuteronomy 18:10 through 12. It says, Do not seek the dead. Don't do it. you know Or they'll say, well, we we can have images because God made the images in the temple.
And the brazen serpent was commanded by God.
So they bowed down to these things. And it sounds reasonable until you read the context. Say, well, no, they were never bowed down to. And when the the images that were created by God, by His order. Would decorate the temple and to show his splendor, but they were never used in worship services where people bowed down before them.
and the brazen serpent, when people started burning incense to it, then it was ordered to be destroyed. And then when you go to Exodus 20, verses 4 and 5, it says, Do not make for yourself. an image of the Lord your God or anything above or below, etcetera, that you bow down and w worship and serve him. And so what they they forget is that the Bible says, Don't make anything for yourself. They make their idols for themselves, put them in front of their churches.
and then they bow down to them. But they say, well, God No, when God says it's different than than when you do it. And so I bring out these points. like this. But the false religion of Catholicism, they blind the minds and the hearts of the followers.
and they make them children of the devil. They make them the s the children of deception. And they go to hell. And the b and Jesus says when the blind lead the blind both fall into the pit and perish This is serious stuff. We Protestants can't.
Yeah.
Yep. Okay, well, keep running the good race. I'm trying. I'm trying. Yeah, thanks a lot.
Alright, God bless. Yeah, goodbye.
Okay.
Well, that's uh that's all the callers we've got right now. We've got about four minutes left in the show. Uh In Matthew 15:14, Jesus says, Let them alone, they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch or into the pit.
So uh as Matthew 15, 14.
So we are to use the scriptures as the final authority. And what the false religions do is say, no, the Bible's been corrupted, or no, we have to interpret it with our authority. And then they'll ask me, where do you get your authority to interpret God's Word? And I respond by saying, Show me where you get your authority to even ask that kind of question. And see, they presuppose that their churches are the true churches.
But let me just say it again. Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy are not. True Christian religions. They are false religions teaching a false gospel, a false priesthood, and they promote idolatry. These are gates of damnation.
And we need to pray. for them and ask the Lord to open up their hearts and their minds so that they would believe the true gospel and not the works righteousness gospels that are promoting both of those false religious systems. This is a serious thing. It's a serious thing. And that reminds me, a little bit of a segue here.
I spoke with a guy yesterday. I walk around the block, and it's a one-year, one-year one-mile circuit, and I have a headset, microphone thing. I go in, and I was listening to a guy. on a certain chat room saying he doesn't sin anymore. And I asked, how long has it been since you've sinned?
Three years and blah, blah, blah, days and blah, blah, blah. And I said so, then let me get this straight. You are telling me then you keep the moral law on the same level as Jesus, God in flesh. Is that right? He said, Yes.
This is. Like man So, you're as good as God in keeping the law. Wow. I said it sounds like the sin of pride to me. But it just, it's amazing to me when people say that they don't sit anymore.
Like, wow, I need to talk to Elon Musk and ask him for a rocket ship ticket to the planet these people are living on. I want to go visit them. The man, telling you. Woof. All right.
Anyway, hey folks, look, I'm out of time here. The music's going to be starting in a few. Just want to let you know that we stay on the air by your support. Please consider supporting us financially. We do need that.
