Kingdom Pursuits, where you hear from ordinary people instilled with an extraordinary passion. Together we explore the stories of men and women who take what they love and let God turn their passion into kingdom pursuits.

Now, live from the Truth Booth, your host, Robbie Dilmore. Oh, you're going to be so glad you tuned in today because we are loaded for Bear today in the studio and on location in Montana. Of all places. early in the morning. Is the not the one, the only.

He walks, he talks, he crawls on his belly like a reptile at times, I'm told. Yeah, that's it. We have bears out here. The caregivers, caregiver, the Peter Rosenberger is with me. And Jasmine Hyatt, who is with Crossroads Kids, I am so, so, so excited about these Crossroad Kids clubs.

Did you know about them? Peter, they are bringing the gospel into public schools.

Well, it should have never left and I'm grateful that they're doing that. Yeah, it's absolutely amazing. You know, there was a time in this country when the gospel all over our schools. And What happened? And now I'm grateful that it's returning back.

That's a wonderful thing. Yeah. And and it's really you're going to find out how they do that, right, Jasmine? Yep, that's right. And we also have um from Chicago.

Her her fearless leader, Matt, who's going to be with us a little later in the show on a segment, we got that. But most of all, we have you. And so, Peter, your new book is called. A CAREGIVER'S COMPANION Scriptures, hymns, and forty years of insights for life's toughest role. And it's my 40-year journey of this journal basically that I've written down things that I've learned along the way, all of it the hard way.

And I marry each thought that I that anchors me with a scripture or a hymn stanza, because I love the hymns. And so those of you who may not be all that familiar with Peter, Um of course he hosts True Talk Live most every Wednesday, but To know his story it is to know that his wife Gracie. Is a double amputee? Would that be the way to describe it? She is.

She's lost both legs. It's all resulting from a car wreck she had back in 1983. And um to date that I can count, she's had ninety-eight surgeries. Right. And several of those 98 have happened in the last year, right?

Yeah, we we spent five months at the University of Colorado in Denver, Aurora. And I'm still mad at my travel agent for booking me five months in Aurora, Colorado. Because it's a You know, I got uh when I finally got home, we weren't supposed to be there that long. She ended up having 11 surgeries. But when I got home, a friend of mine told me, Go out on the deck and fire off a couple of rounds so she'll think she's still in Aurora.

I heard more gunfire in Aurora than I do in Montana. And Montana has the highest guns per capita in the country, which means we have the highest guns per capita in the world. And I heard more gunfire in Aurora, Colorado.

So. Wow. You can do with that information what you will. I will. I will.

As you'll find out coming up in the next segment, you know, Peter often, from what I'm told, Um You know, makes reference to my humor as to your attempt at humor. As less than, and again, I have many listeners that have emailed me, talked to me, whatever, like Robbie.

So, you know, there there's some part of this we will have a time in the next segment that we'll get to. But Jasmine, again, for our listeners that aren't familiar with Crossroads Kids Clubs, can you kind of give us a little outline of how you guys do bring the gospel into schools? Yeah, so uh we once a week after school will have a club at an elementary public school and we teach the kids uh interactive Bible lesson. We break out into small groups and discuss it further, um do crafts or activities with them, play games with them and just build like a relationship with them. Right, right.

And and and fascinatingly is is I have learned more and more about this.

So many schools are dying for this kind of thing. In other words, they really, really want it. The principals want it, the teachers want it. Again, the way that it works is if it's after hours, you're asking the district if you can form a club, and schools can do that. They can have clubs.

You can have a glee club or whatever kind of club you want to have, but you can have a Crossroads Kids Club in your school. And as we talked about many times in the last couple of interviews I've done with Jasmine, fascinatingly, There are like ninety two percent of the kids in the country go to a public school. Is that right? Yeah, I believe so. And There are three churches in America.

Now we're not talking about in North Carolina or Virginia or the Bible Belt, but in America there are three churches for every public school. Meaning that, oh my goodness, the opportunity for schools To Get in line with with w I mean, with churches, to get in line with schools, to create these clubs and begin to, you know, work with teachers, etc.

So much fun.

So we're going to. to be talking about both those things Um During the show, as well as again, the idea, and interestingly, Peter, hardly a I mean, hardly a day goes by in my life That somebody, and again, being a pastor, I hear a lot of these things: that somebody isn't a desperate caregiver.

Well, I think that's a redundant term. Because I've yet to meet a caregiver that wasn't desperate on some level. In fact, Thoreau said that all men lead lives of quiet desperation. Oh, yeah. And I think that we as we navigate through this world, The reality of the brokenness, the sin, the the wickedness, the the oppression, the the the devastation that was wreaked on this world.

It overwhelms us. And nowhere is that more visible when you get into a caregiving because it's relentless, it doesn't stop. And it doesn't matter if it's something you say, well, my situation is not as bad.

Well, what is as bad? It's all disappointing, it's all frustrating, it's all heartbreaking, and when you have somebody in pain all the time and there's no chance of this changing this side of heaven. Legs don't grow back. And Alzheimer's doesn't reverse itself. this side of heaven.

and and autism. You go through the list of all the afflictions, and there's always a caregiver. And they are usually having late night conversations with the ceiling fan. Yeah. I have two friends.

Two dear friends actually, both uh stage four cancer, both of them in the middle of gigantic uh chemotherapy struggles. Um Because they've been doing it about three months. Both of them got diagnosed almost at the same time. One of them with pancreatic cancer. The other one went, fascinatingly, appendix cancer, which is particularly deadly.

I didn't know that. But Light. and their wives. I mean They're going through exactly what my wife went through, Peter, is that everybody comes up and says. How's Robbie?

Everybody comes up and, you know, what's going on with Robbie? And that their question isn't You know, what's going on with you, Tammy? How are you doing through all this, you know? And you lose your identity to some extent, right? You do.

That's one of the three eyes that every caregiver deals with. We become isolated, we lose our independence, and we lose our identity. And one of the things that I focus hard on in this book, and everything I do on the radio show. that and and everything else I've done for years for caregivers is help caregivers back away from that Yeah, I think it's a little bit of a mistake. where they've lost themselves in someone else's story.

And recognize that Jesus loves me, this I. I know, for the Bible tells me so. We have a very personal Savior. Who Yes, he loves Gracie. Yes, he loves Robbie, but he loves Tammy, he loves Peter.

And he knows us individually. And it's important that we start speaking from our own voice on this, and that's part of the path towards healthiness for us as a caregiver. A caregiver's companion. How how how um Yeah. Original.

I mean, it's kind of cool because that's exactly what caregivers need. That's the name of your book, right, Peter?

Well, yes, and friends don't let friends care give alone. That isolation, we saw during COVID what isolation does. And you know, it's really interesting, Robbie. What is the first thing. That God's Eye said that was not good.

When God looked at creation, what was the first thing he said that was not good? And it was that man was alone. There you go. That man was alone. And that was before the fall.

So we got more of a caregiver's companion. We got a whole lot with Crossroads Kids Clubs. But I know what you're waiting for is Robbie's riddle. Especially, you're wanting to play shenanigans. I know with Peter Rosenberger, me and Peter in the same right, and Jasmine's here.

Oh, it's going to be awesome. You got to stay tuned. This is going to be. Terrific. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

Welcome back to Kingdom Pursuits, where we hear how God takes your passion. and uses it to build the kingdom and for some of us Our passion is humor.

Okay. And for some of us, our passion is to critique humor. I'm just saying. Yeah. And so, since the title of your book, Peter, is Caregiver's Companion, speaking of companion.

And now the fun begins. Oh, yes, it is, and how I've waited. Waited for this moment with you, Peter, to um experience some more of the Rosenberger Humor. You know how it goes, Peter. Jasmine may not.

I ask a few questions before I get to the audience question, and you attempt to answer it as best you can, realizing. That Robbie's jokes are dad jokes on steroids.

Okay. So. What country? And of course I got Nick and Randy also. willing to chime in.

What country would a chess player's perfect companion come from? If you were A chess player Where would What country would your Perfect. companion come from, Peter. Come on, now you got it right. Is it a European country?

You're correct. It is in the European Union. Oh, okay. What country would a chess player's commitment? Companion.

come from Czech media. You're right. They come from Czechoslovakia. You good one? If they were in Czechoslovakia, they would literally be a Czech mate.

Come on now, Peter. It is funny now. You got it? No? Is that the word we're looking for?

I like this. Checkmate. All right. All right. You might like this one better.

And I bet Peter can also get the other one. Yeah, I would have to like it better. The bar is that low. Oh, ye of little humor. All right.

Why are the horsepower? Why are horses? Great companions. Because they're neighbors. I like that.

That's pretty cute. Not what I was looking for, but nonetheless good, eh? What do you think? Nick, you got something, Jasmine? They like horsing around.

Oh, I like that. That is a good one. That is good. I think they're usually in a stable relationship. Come on, Peter's a good one.

You like horses? You actually have horses. You own horses. I'm speechless. Aren't you in several stable relationships yourself?

We have horses. Yeah, but I think I want to go back to neighbors.

Alright, we're so Why do some say they're boots? are their best friend. Why do some say they're boots? Are their best friends. Their boots are their best boots, yeah.

Yeah. You'll like this gentleman. You will. Peter won't, but you will. Will I?

Because I can't figure it out. Yeah, I'm muscle on this one. It's their soul companion. Oh, I think. If I'd said shoes, it'd been too easy.

Peter would have got it. I was thinking that they're. their their tongues are silent, but that was what I was going with it. That was good.

So my companion once told me your wife and daughter look like twins. What was my answer? They're copy and paste? My wife and daughter look like twins. What is the answer to that, Peter?

What do you think? One's name is Kate, the other one is Duplicate. That is good, Peter. See, you're not humorally challenged, as a lot of people told me. No, no, no, I was aware of that.

I have documentation of that. Uh-huh. See, the correct answer is, you know why? They were separated at birth. Yeah.

Oh my god. Peter, come on, Peter. There's still time for you to put Robbie on your church bulletin prayer list this week. All right, so you knew at the end of those shenanigans we actually would have. opportunity for you to call in and win with one of Robbie's riddles.

And today's riddle. Get ready to call 866-348-7884. 866-34-TRUTH and tell us. Jesus' companion Judas. What came?

Before Judas. Yeah. And I do have to say it tickles me. Jesus and companion Judas. What came before?

Judas 866-348-7884-866-34 TRUTHERTION THERE And if you know what came before Judas, Nick. Tell them what they win. Absolutely. Yes, you will be winning a prize from our Kingdom Pursuits Prize vault. If you know the answer, there's an answer.

are ever expanding. Yeah. Kingdom Pursuits Prize Vault, which includes the legendary Kingdom Pursuits backscratcher, gospel backscratcher, because it has beads. But you can, you know. Share the gospel while you're scratching somebody's back.

And then we now have. In our We really do, we have NyCam. Like if if You need some on hand, you're often around people that may Uh Overdosing or something? Hey, we have is it not Nightcam? It's Narcan.

Narcan.

Okay. Narcan and the back scratcher, and the Kingdom Pursuit Pez Dispenser. Don't forget, the Kingdom Pursuit Pez Dispenser. We haven't come up with that yet, but it's going to have a bobbling Robbie head on. That would be cool.

But uh at this point in time we have lots of books. Um including very shortly, Caregiver's Companion.

So how fun is that?

So Getting back to Actual serious wonderful stuff. Crossroads kids' clubs. Uh we're becoming more and more uh uh uh Like, I'm really excited about this in my own church, really. They will. Jasmine is the director here for the triad, and she will contact your school district, right?

And make way for you guys to begin to meet with the principal of your school. And since I already have a relationship with the principal of the school of my church. You know, we can begin to form these clubs and then figure out how how do you invite the kids? Yeah, so um once we get approval from the district and the school to use the space after school there for the club, then and we have a the church's volunteer team trained and everything ready to go, then we will there's multiple ways we can recruit the kids.

So one of the easiest ways is sending home flyers with the kids.

So the kids take it home in their take home homework folder, whatever it is, to take home to their parents and the parents will sign them up. Another way is we can be at open house before a school year starts or at a parent-teacher conference or sports games or whatever events that the school might have where we can not only interact with the kids, but we can also interact with their families and tell them about Crossroads. Oh, very cool.

So again, they're going to help you recruit the kids and again train the people in your church so that you'll be able to do this. And then the fruit is just absolutely amazing. Like We're actually in your Reading the Bible in a school, you're being able to pray, and just the fact that You know, all that stuff is coming back in the door. um is is a significant w you know way that that we're b you know, God's able to bless the schools that unfortunately have turned their back on him for some time. And I think it's you're hearing this from teachers all the time, right, Jasmine?

Yeah. Yeah, so that they're we had two clubs last year in this region, and the principals were very excited. They're like, you're starting up again this year, right? Like, and they've already seen the impact that it's made on their students. That's wonderful, absolutely.

And so, by the same way, there's a huge impact on caregivers that Peter's getting to see. uh through his ministry and uh your your involvement in all these things and and you've had the radio show on American Family Radio now for how long, Peter? We've been on American Family Radio since 2018, been on the Truth we actually started on the Truth Network in 2017, and I've been on the Air since 2012. And so I think from what I understand, I have the longest-running radio program for family caregivers. And by the way, I'm coming over.

How far are you from Greensboro, Robbie? 20 minutes. 20 minutes. I'm going to be speaking over there at Parkinson's related conference next month. Really?

What's the date? September the nineteenth. I get on the 18th and then I'll be speaking the 19th. I'm one of a series of that's a medical group that's putting this on, and I'm very grateful they're addressing the needs of caregivers. Right.

'Cause we are gonna be live actually at the of f at the Bible Church of Clements has an Arabic Um Christian Festival. They're in Clemens every year and we get to be live out there. Very cool. We'll be eating falafel and all sorts of stuff. Um, and we'll feel great after we eat the falafel.

You won't feel awful. No, no, no. And they have these, man. And I bet you've tried them, Jasmine, because you have some of this in your family. Is that.

They have these, they're like long meatballs. I don't know what to call them, but they have kebab. And like, man, I can hardly wait till the Arabic Christian Festival. Just think, I get to go see Peter on Friday, and now that my stomach starts to get. No, I'm just kidding.

That'll make your stomach turn. You'll feel awful. Not so awful and feel awful. I haven't seen you in a number of years, not since you were at the NRB last, so it'd be great to see you. Maybe you can Well, I look forward to it.

And I think that, and I'm grateful that they're including the needs of family caregivers. My father had Parkinson's, and there's so many people that are struggling with so many different kinds of afflictions. But do we know what to say? Do we know how to talk with them? It's like what Jasmine's doing with children.

I mean, you know, there are people out there that know what to say. They know how to start this process. You don't have to figure it out yourself. The road is there, and that's what I'm doing with family caregivers. That's what Jasmine's doing with school kids.

That's what you're doing with humor. Oh wait.

Well speaking of which, nobody's called in yet to tell me, oh, what comes before Judas? Ha ha ha ha. What came before Judas? 866-348-7884. We'll be right back with it.

You're listening to The Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com. Welcome back to Kingdom Pursuits, where we have how God takes your passion. And uses it to build the kingdom.

So fun today. We have in the studio with us Jasmine Hyatt with Crossroads Kids Club, and we have Peter Rosenberger via Comrex. From Montana. But right now we got Jamal is in Winston-Salem. He knows what, Jamal, what came before Judas?

Well, thank you for your confidence in me, Robbie. I'm actually going to just. I'm just going to take a wild guess at this one. I'm going to say. The Continue for Jesus before Judas was The Holy Trinity.

Now that is a way better answer. Way, way in fact We're going to give you your k your pick of whatever's in there. But no, no, it really is a way better answer. And don't you think that's a great answer, Jasmine? Peter, don't you think that's a great answer?

Oh, that's a gimme. Always. That's a gimme. Yeah, but we got to give it to him. But he also has another question.

So stick with us. Don't leave me, Jamal. But especially when you hear the answer I'm going to give, you may want to just hang up. No, n never that never that, Robbie. But anyway, it was sort of on Peter, but I wouldn't end up on Rod.

Just kidding, just kidding. That's right. I've got plenty of people hanging up on me.

So, what came before Judas? was Prejudice. prejudice or prejudice Ah, that's good. I knew you'd enjoy that. What ca what came after him?

Post your distractions. This chariot. Oh, this carriot. Oh, very nice. Oh, you.

You're quick, Peter. I got to tell you, that's pretty amazing. No, that's bad. See, what happens is it's contagious. Whatever Robbie has, it's contagious.

Somebody calls somebody right now. Yeah. What is the number for 911?

So anyway, you had a question about, which I think is a great question. How do people get up with Jasmine so they can do a Crossroads Kids Club in their church? Jasmine. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely.

So I Um, yeah, I can just give you my phone number.

So you can just call or text me. It's 336-743-1800. three three six seven four three eighteen hundred. It's like you knew your phone number needed to be very easily remembered. 743-1800.

Like, how easy is that? 336-743-1800. If you didn't, like, man, that's wonderful. And while I have your information, Ms. Jasmine, I didn't know that Peter Rosenberger was going to be in the area.

So if you could give me those dates so I can maybe meet up with you also, Peter. That's it, event on the 19th, and I think you have to register for it. Yeah, 19th of September, and you have to register for it with this group. And I don't know. It's the Alta.

What is it that's the Parkinson's? It's Parkinson's. It's a Parkinson's event. And I'd have to. I'm sorry I didn't have that with me.

But you're probably going to come by the station, and we'll get anybody that wants to meet you over here.

Well, you'll be having crickets, won't you, Ryan? No, no, no, no, no, no, crickets. I'm pretty sure I'll tell you. I'm pretty sure. In fact, I'm certain.

that Nick will want to meet you. Yeah. With a team of specialists standing by. This thing is the Triads 2025 Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Education Symposium. Oh.

And it's going to be from 90%. Do they know that they asked you to speak at a symposium? It's a symposium, and there's going to be a lot of people with the alphabet after their name, and then they got me. And then, but it's free to attend, but there is registration required, and you can go out to. Cone Health Medical Group, which is sponsoring this.

Cone Health Medical Group. That's the hospital there in Greensboro is Cone Health. And so a lot of people would be familiar with that. Cone Health. And again, if you're looking for symposiums.

It's a symposium. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry. I digress.

Thank you, Jamal. You're awesome, man. Appreciate it. God bless. God bless.

Thank you, Jamal. Yeah, thanks, Jamal. And I've got this. Um Yeah, we've got an interview that we did with Matt Armstrong, the leader of Crossroads Kids. Let's play that.

So how fun. We're back here with our old friend Jasmine with Crossroads Kids Club. And Jasmine, what an honor. We have an esteemed guest with us from Crossroads Kids Club.

So neat because I just love what you guys are doing. But if you could go ahead and introduce our guest. Hey, yeah, thank you for having me again today.

So, I'm going to introduce our fearless leader of Crossroads Kids Club, Matt Armstrong. Yeah, it's good to be here. Yeah. So Matt, yet from your standpoint, talk to us on your vision for Crossroads Kids Club. Yeah.

Well, simply, we want to have every child have an opportunity to hear about Jesus and have the opportunity to place their faith and trust in him. Yeah, and it's a neat thing that a lot of people think, you know, well, church and state, we can't get in the schools. And you guys really had a unique vision there. Yeah, and a way to get to the kids, right? Yeah, well, I don't know if it's unique, but it's just that that's where the kids are at, right?

And so across our nation, it's only 22% of kids that are attending church. But 84% of them are in public schools. And so a lot of people don't know, but the public schools are wide open after school to community groups. And the Supreme Court has ruled that there can't be a viewpoint discrimination. And our religious viewpoint is just that.

It's a viewpoint in the eyes of the law.

So we're allowed freely to bring the gospel into the school right after school. Yeah, it's absolutely beautiful. And here in North Carolina, being a pastor and being very connected to the local elementary school, right? It's what an opportunity because a lot of the principals and the faculty are wide open to the concept. If we just had that way in, and part of the cool thing that Crossroads Kids Clubs do is you help us with the paperwork, right?

Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. Just thinking about that, there are so many godly leaders in public education. One time I went and I met with a principal, it was a Friday afternoon. And we were sharing with her what Crossford's all about and what we're going to bring into her school. And she just stopped and she said, Do you mean you're teaching the kids the Bible?

I said, Yes. You mean you're talking about Jesus? I'm like, yes. Yes, and I wasn't sure where she was going. And then all of a sudden, she got tears in her eyes.

And she said, You have no idea how badly this school needs this. And I can't bring this, but you can. She said, I've been praying for this. And I said, How long have you been praying for this? She said, Since Monday.

And it was Friday.

So I said, Well, look how quickly God answered your prayer. And she said, I know, that's why I'm crying.

So you're absolutely right. Many, many principals and leaders would love to see this come in. Yeah, and so, Jasmine, as you said, you can start the process of what's next if somebody wants. to get connected to Crossroads Kids Club. What can you help them to do?

Get in their school? Yeah, so I would uh start co uh talking to the uh the school district's personnel in um looking into rent quote unquote renting the facility 'cause after the school bell rings, it that's community space for us.

So, um, I would talk to them about the logistics about that and then getting the principal's approvals at the school that the church is requesting to be at. Once we get the go ahead on that, then we can start Um Reaching out to the kids and do training with the volunteers, make sure the team is ready to start doing the club and just getting our supplies and just get ready to have fun with them. Absolutely beautiful. I mean, absolutely, you know, what every church would love to have is, and it's fasting, Scott. You say that.

There are three churches for every school public school. Yes, that's right. That's the average across the nation. Can you imagine what it is in North Carolina? I'm going to guess it might be six.

It might be. It might be. So, yeah, just to add to what Jasmine said, you need four things to start a club. I think of them as four S's because it makes it memorable.

So, structure, school, staff, and students.

So, structure is we need to have a church community that wants to adopt that school and come behind it. Then, we have an opening in the school. Then, we need to find some team members who are going to serve, and then finally recruit the students.

So, Jasmine, her role is to serve as a coach. And a support and advisor to anybody who wants to jump in, and so you can reach out to her at 336-743-1800, and that's her direct number. That's wonderful. Yeah. How long have you have you guys been in North Carolina but like actually had staff here for how long?

Uh staff Maybe. Not quite two years. Right, so this is a relatively, you know, fresh thing.

So, but you're really in. Been running full blast in several areas.

So, can you share a little bit about what that history looks like? Yeah, definitely.

So, Crossroads began outside of Chicago back in 1998. For most of our history, we were just at a local neighborhood ministry there. More recently, we adopted this model of working through local church partners, and then just since COVID, we have seen the benefit of putting staff as field staff, regional coordinators around the country.

So, we have 10 focus regions, I say from California to the Carolinas, but Jasmine is our local person here in the triad. And so I can't help but kind of chuckle at the idea of Chicago. right? Not exactly the hotbed of the Bible belt although, you know, it is where Moody Church is, et cetera. I I get that.

But nonetheless, you think, you know, gee, the if you want to go to a difficult school district, Try to get them to cooperate to bring something like this in. That's just wild thoughts, right? Especially in 1998. I know Nazareth, can anything good come out of that? Chicago?

Yes, you know, God can do anything. And we're actually seeing amazingly, we just added a person in California and we're seeing good results there already.

So, you know, some of the things, it's just surprising. There's an openness, I think there's a hunger. I think most of the mainstream media does not want people to know this. They want us to be quiet, not talk about Jesus in public, and to think we can't. And that's a lie from the pit of hell.

So we are here to reject that and spread the word. Yeah, so you know, school shotings actually, we just had one interestingly in the Catholic Church. Um it horribly, I suppose, that that you know um and You know, a lot of people are praying. Right now, for our schools, they're praying for safety and all those kind of things. But, you know, it's kind of cool that God has given us an answer to our prayer is, you know, like it says in You know, Ezekiel 37, you know, give those dry bones the word of God.

And so you literally are coming into the school with a Bible, right again, right? Yeah, absolutely.

Yeah. Absolutely. In fact, it never ceases to amaze me.

So we teach the kids, we call it the Crossroads Creed, and it's essentially the gospel story.

So they say, Jesus is the Son of God. He came from heaven to earth, he lived a perfect life, he died on the cross for mine. He says, go through this whole thing until he's coming again as conquering king, and we'll make all the wrong things right. And I walk in to visit a club and I'm hearing these kids just shout this at the top of their lungs in their public school. And I'm like, wow, this is amazing, you know, that this is happening all around our country.

Right. Well, unfortunately, we just have a couple more minutes with Scott, but I want to make sure you get said anything you want to make sure our listeners are aware of in the ways that they can connect with Crossroads Kids Club. Yeah, well, we're offering a free resource right now, A Light in Public Schools. It's an e-book, and listeners can access that at gospelinschools.com. Gospelinschools.com.

And it actually talks about three legal pathways to get the gospel into public schools. Crossroads is operating in one of those, but there's other ways. And so it's not a one-size-fits-all endeavor.

So I encourage them to check that out. If they're interested in getting involved here locally, reach out to Jasmine, 336-743-1800. You can also learn more at crossroadskidsclub.com. Awesome. Thank you so much, Scott.

I keep saying that. Matt, God bless. Thank you so much for having us. Yeah, thanks. You're listening to the Truth Network and TruthNetwork.com.

Welcome back to Kingdom Pursuits, where we've been able to do that. for some of us had a very short break. But others of us have been at the break for a little bit of time. We're talking with Crossroads Kids Club and Peter Rosenberger with his new book, A Caregiver's Companion. And so this segment's a little bit shorter, so I make sure, Peter, you get plenty of time to tell people what you want to tell them about your new book.

Well, I wrote this to Provide a way that caregivers can understand what safety looks like. You remember in Indiana Jones in the last crusade when he had to go through those three tests to get to the Holy Grail? Do you remember that? Yes. And he had to step on those stones and he had to spell out the name of God, but he got one of them wrong and he got about crashed through.

This book shows you where the safe stones are to step on to catch your breath. They're just short Quotes of things I've learned, things I've said over the years, and then I marry it with a scripture or a hymn stanza. I love the hymns. I do a series on my show on hymns that every caregiver ought to know, and I'll have the caregiver keyboard hooked up and I'll play them and I'll show what. What is the story behind this hymn, and how did we get it, and who wrote it, what was going on in their life.

But this is my journal, and then I leave a space in this book for. readers to be able to put their own thoughts. About what I just said right here. It can be something very, very, very simple. They're not complex things.

I mean, it's me, Robbie. I'm not going to make it complex. Like, one of the quotes is. This is from page 86 and or page 80. And you don't have to read it in a straight line.

You can just pick it up, go wherever you go. And it says, One can only wait for a rescue for so long. Before realizing a life must be lived, even in dire consequences, I cannot just sit around and wait for somebody to rescue me. I've been doing this now for 40 years. And then the hymn I put on there is John Rippon from How Firm a Foundation.

When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie, my grace sufficient shall be thy supply. The flames shall not hurt thee. I only design thy draws to consume and thy gold to refine. And those are thoughts that we can hold on to as caregivers in the midst of whatever. I did this specifically for those crisis moments when you're having a meltdown in the hospital parking lot, when you are walking out of ICU for the umpteenth time, when you are in the middle of the night dealing with a crisis or whatever.

So there's something you can hang on to, a safe stone to stand on. And ultimately, the safest stone to stand on is Christ. My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. That stone is not going to collapse under you.

And these are things that I've learned over four decades of this, going through this medical nightmare that Gracie and I have endured, and it's going on even today. It still doesn't show any signs of relentlessness. The lessons of the last year have been some of the most severe, right? They have. We went down for two surgeries.

It morphed into 11. We stayed there 143 days. It was pretty gnarly. And in this crucible with relentless challenges, that's where you find, and I ask this myself and I ask my fellow caregivers, Christian. What do you believe?

We say these things sometimes from a nice academic place or a nice Sunday school room or whatever, but when you're looking through the glass in the ICU and you've been doing this for months. And this has been going on now on the heels of decades, you have to ask yourself hard questions. And one of those questions is: Christian, what do you believe? Where do you stand? And when I look at this thing in Minnesota, when I look at these things, are we prepared to go into this level of heartache?

And what does that look like? Are we prepared to minister to people in this situation? And if so, what does that look like? We can't just roll down the window as we drive by and say, God bless you. We got to be willing to enter into their heartache, their pain, their trauma.

the same way our Saviour did for us, because He entered into our trauma. And is the servant greater than the master? I think not. And that's what this book is about: is how we walk through these things safely, standing on this, on the firm word of God, even with tears in our eyes, even with heartache, with weariness, and everything else. But how do we, what does this look like?

And that's what I did in this book. There you go. A Caregiver's Companion by Peter Rosenberger. All that's available at Amazon again. Also, we want to give you Jasmine another minute, you know, right before we go to...

This is a short segment, so I'll have What did you want to make sure you got said today that we haven't got to? Um, yeah, so uh just Spreading word about Crossroads Kids Club and how we work partnering with churches to do clubs after school once a week at elementary public schools, as well as if you're interested in downloading a free e-book that got called Gospel in Schools. Matt Armstrong wrote this book. It is phenomenal. I'd recommend it.

You can download it at gospelinschools.com. Gospelinschools.com. There you go. It's a free e-book as well. Again, if you get up with Jasmine, give them your phone number one more time.

It's 336-743-1800. 336-743-1800. So, yeah, by all means, if you're interested, or you might think your school might be interested, you know, it's amazing the opportunities that God lays at our feet. And, you know, the next generation is coming, and it's up to us, right, Peter, to get the gospel to the next generation. It is, and if we don't say it, We we're going to have to look at our Saviour in the eye one day, and give an account.

Why are we holding this in? If it transformed our life, are we not willing to share it with someone else? That's so wonderful.

Well, you guys have been awesome. Thank you so much. We've had so much fun. Don't miss the symposium. By all means, the symposium.
