If you have a smart speaker, ask the speaker to play the Infinity Sports Network. I'll be here with you for three more hours. How about this? In about 20 minutes, we're going to have a chat with Mike LaTulip from the field of 68. That'll be a lot of fun. I'm going to get his thoughts on everything that has gone on so far here in the tournament.
The fact that we don't have any Cinderella's. I'm going to get into the idea of, well, the coaches moving around, who he thinks is going to win the tournament. And then I'm going to ask him about, well, I got to ask him about the guy, one of the guys who has just been, he's been eliminated. That's head coach Dan Hurley. And I am glad he's been eliminated. We'll talk more about that in a second.
If you want to be a part of the show, you can. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. And then right before we went to break, and we talked about Cam Ward, who participated in Miami's pro day today. And of course, everything coming out about Cam Ward is ridiculously positive. Gets up at four thirty in the morning.
He's looking at tape at five thirty, brushing his teeth at six, eating greens and I don't know, kale at eight. He's just a perfect human being, nothing wrong with Cam Ward at all. Chidor Sanders, on the other hand, we know he wakes up at 11 a.m., doesn't look at tape, like whatever negative you can say about him, people are saying. So hey, chalk it up for what you can.
Some people, it doesn't matter what they do. Chidor Sanders is a young man for a lot of the crazy stories that we get in the world. I don't think I've heard anybody or anything negative about Chidor outside of hearsay.
And so that's just a part of the NFL draft process. Chidor as it stands for right now, as far as I'm concerned, ain't nothing wrong with him. He's not a jerk.
He's just currently being manipulated in the NFL draft process. On the other hand, we have some legitimate jerks, you know, people that you can kind of tell who they are, how they behave. You know, you can get a vibe on who they are just by how they behave.
Let me, let me say it that way. And so there's a big difference between a guy like Chidor Sanders, who is what, 22 years old and a 52 year old grown man in Dan Hurley, who genuinely just seems like a jerk. And I don't know, maybe it's because he gets so wound up and so tight in coaching UConn. It just, this year really turned me off from the guy.
Dan Hurley is 52 years old. This man has been the head coach at UConn since 2018. This season, for him, I could say this past season, he had an opportunity to be the, the last team or the latest team, I should say. It's a three-peat. It wasn't expected given the fact that four of his starters from last year ended up going to the NBA, but he just came off of back-to-back national championships.
This year will not be the third straight. We haven't seen that since UCLA won seven straight titles in the late sixties, early seventies. And so Dan Hurley coached his ass off. And unfortunately for him and the UConn Huskies, this season ended yesterday to the Florida Gators. UConn jumped into the tournament and they beat Oklahoma.
And then yesterday against the Gators late in the game, they were, they ran into Walter, Walter Clayton, who just decided to light things up late. He had like 13 points to pretty much end the game. And then he also ended UConn season and their chance officially at a three-peat. And so of course, Dan Hurley couldn't go into the night as a loser.
He couldn't put his head down and walk off and just be quiet. Walking off of the court, Dan Hurley basically insinuated that the referees blew the game. As Baylor was getting ready to take the court for its own game, Dan Hurley was just kind of yelling out loud into the tunnel, into the locker room that I hope that Baylor, I hope you don't get screwed by the refs like we just got screwed.
Now, if you take a look at the stats and the numbers, typically people say, you know, they got screwed. They didn't get calls. UConn was 19 of 22 from the free throw line. They took 22 free throws. Florida took 34 free throws. They were 22 of 34.
Discrepancy of about 12. But UConn didn't have the, they didn't have the, they didn't have the muscle. They didn't have the scoring muscle to compete.
I mean, outside of McNeely, he had 22 points. Everybody else seemed to be sleepwalking until Walter Clayton took over for the Gators. And so Dan Hurley threw this fit that went viral yesterday, that was captured on camera, that UConn then had a fit about. I mean, that UConn then had a fit about. I mean, their communications director had a whole fit that this was captured. And then even that became news from earlier today. This is pretty, pretty bad. I want you to listen to the Charlotte Sports Live news report of the athletic director, the communications director being mad that this footage even went viral.
Listen to this. That's the video that's gone viral online of UConn head coach Dan Hurley voicing his displeasure with the referees and the Huskies lost to the number one ranked Florida Gators. Charlotte Sports Live's own Joey Ellis took that video and then was confronted by UConn director of communications, Bobby Mullen. Mullen asked for that video that had gone viral to be removed.
He then threatened Joey saying he would quote, ruin his life if he didn't. This was heard by multiple other reporters and staff on hand. Our management asked Mullen for a statement on the incident and here's what he said. The lasting image of coach Hurley leaving the court should have been his walking off the court arm in arm with the seniors, overwhelmed with emotion. Instead, a reporter who was in an area he should not have been recorded on his cell phone, a private comment made to members of another coaching staff, end quote.
Charlotte Sports Live and Queen City News stand by Joey Ellis's reporting. Oh, come on, man. A couple of things. When you're screaming and yelling something out like that, that's not a private moment. If it was so damn loud that it was captured on a camera, whether it was a fan's camera, a reporter's camera, a television camera, that is not a private moment. Like there's no need to dress any of this up. I mean, if he was in a spot recording where he wasn't supposed to be, then blame the person who allowed him to be there.
You know, anybody who goes to a sporting event or an arena is there's plenty of places where you can just kind of stake and hide out. But that's why there's security standing around to make sure that things like that don't happen. And the worst thing of it all. He threatened to ruin his life.
Like, is this what is this what we're doing now with threatening to ruin people's lives over footage? Is your damn job that important? Take it down. Otherwise, I'm going to ruin your life. I do better. Come on, man. And get over it. Everybody's so high and mighty about themselves.
And I get it. Dan Hurley was sad. He was upset. He was angry after the game last night. He just he was he was real emotional.
I was waiting for him to he looked like three different people. He was crying. He was sad. He was upset. He was angry. He was going through all of the emotions.
Dan Hurley postgame. He says, you know what? We I did not handle success. Well, listen to this. And I didn't even you know, I would say going into the year, you know, there's a lot of rewiring and things I got to be I got to do in the off season because you just just get caught up in this tidal wave of success that we've had. And and, you know, you just you lose perspective, you know, you struggle with the ego at times because you've, you know, you've been on this incredible run. So it'll be nice to get to a to a normal off season and just get back to, you know, myself as a coach. Oh, oh, he he's going to do some rewiring.
He's going to be a different head coach. Oh, you mean you you really mean to tell me? And I guess it's human nature, right? No, I mean, to the extent that he took it where he was just a complete jackass for the past year, I don't know.
You mean to tell me that winning two national championships and then having the Los Angeles Lakers job presented to you, that changed you? I understand you're a human being. I could understand that. But I think there are individuals where it wouldn't come out the way that it did.
Like, I don't know. A couple months ago, yelling at a referee that you were the best coach in college basketball and for that referee to and for that referee to dare not turn their back on you because you're the best of the best. You mean to tell me you had no ego? And then the explanation afterwards, which just reeked in an arrogance.
You mean to tell me success didn't go to this guy's head? I just wish they would show these other coaches losing their minds at the officials and other Big East games that I'm coaching where I look going into a timeout when I'm not talking to officials. I see the other coaches as demonstrative as I am.
But, you know, the camera, obviously, I've created this for myself. I'm not a victim, but I just wish that they would not have the camera on me 90% of the time unless they feel like it's driving ratings and more ass Twitter that could put clips of me from a game and they look how big of a monster he is. He's yelling at a ref again.
What a monster. Oh, look at the sarcasm. This guy is worried about the guys on social media. He's worried about the folks on social. He's worried about the the troll. Well, he didn't even call them trolls.
He called them words that I can't even repeat here. He's he's not going to change. I don't think so. Everybody's capable of changing, right? What do I know? I'm not speaking in 100% certainty.
But I'll find it unlikely that he changes because you want to know why, because he's not at the top of the mountain anymore. That's it. That's it. What is the likelihood that UConn just bounces back next year and just wins another championship? What are the odds that they go three out of the last four years?
The odds are very, very slim to dare I say none. And so, of course, he's going to be quiet because you can't run around being an arrogant jerk, berating officials and yelling and cursing and screaming and and having, you know, attack dogs from the university get your back. You can't do all of that.
When you lost. And who knows, maybe in a couple of seasons and a couple of years, UConn will be at the top of the mountain and then he could talk about the I rewired and I learned from the success. And maybe he does that. But for right now. There's there's nothing to buy into. The guy has been a jerk. For the past two years and now you lose, your players are gone.
Oh, yeah, by the way, he got himself a nice a 50 million dollar contract when he said no to the Los Angeles Lakers. I think he'll be fine. I'm not worried about him. You're damn right. All the success went to his head. And I hope this is the last of it. I got no problem with UConn or the Huskies. I mean, we talked about them last week.
Thinking about Rip Hamilton and winning that first championship and the stretch that they've been able to go on for the past 25 years. But there's nothing worse, nothing worse than having a leader of your team, the face of the team, the face of the school. That's what Dan Hurley is. He's a face of the school of the university. There's nothing worse than having that guy be a jerk. And so did he change?
Will he change? There's only one way to see it's when UConn, if and when they win another championship with this guy at the helm. Let's see what his behavior looks like next year. It's all good to talk crap and be a jerk when you're sitting at the top.
But what happens when your ass been pushed off to the bottom? That's when we find out. Had enough of Dan Hurley. I was glad when they lost because the guy is unbearable.
If it took losing for him to finally wake up and do all of this, if they did, not that they were expected, they weren't expected to, but if they did win three straight, what would this guy, what would this lunatic be screaming next year? Yeah, I don't know. Maybe I'm one of the trolls now. Maybe I'm one of these you know what guys that he just said that call him a monster. I don't call him a monster.
I just call a guy arrogant pain in the ass. Welcome to life. Nobody sits at the top forever.
Learn what it feels like to be back at the bottom. You're not unfamiliar. It's the JR sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. I'm honest. I'm glad that he's gone. He's the only guy I rooted for to actually lose and forget the students.
I'm glad that he lost. We're going to take a break. When we come back on the other side, it's time to have a conversation with Mike Latula who covers all things college basketball for the field of 68. I'm going to ask him about the odds of Dan Hurley bouncing back. I'm going to ask him about somebody else who is seemingly bouncing back and coach Cal. I'm going to get his thoughts on what we saw last night from Maryland and Duke continues to roll. We're going to talk all things tournament as we advance to the sweet 16.
We'll do that on the other side of the break. Mike Latula is going to join us. You're listening to the JR sport re-show coast to coast on the infinity sports network. You're listening to the JR sport brief. It is the JR sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. Waiting to see where Mike Latula is as we track him down.

Just a few health questions. You can get your free quote at checkethos.com. Not available in all the states. As we get ready to talk some more college basketball, I gotta get this out the way. And also, by the way, how about this?
In a matter of minutes, I'm going to have to check in on this literally. Anthony Davis is about to play basketball? Are you kidding me? The Dallas Mavericks are in Brooklyn, New York. And Anthony Davis, since the trade, has suited up one time for the Dallas Mavericks and got hurt. Anthony Davis is going to try and give it a go in Brooklyn, New York for the Dallas Mavericks.
This man showed up to work. Had a great first half. Looked like one of the best players in the NBA, as he does when he plays sometimes. He slid in the paint like a normal basketball move.
And then he, his groin slid the wrong way. We have not seen Anthony Davis play in the paint. We have not seen Anthony Davis since. We've seen Anthony Davis on the sidelines.
I've seen him playing golf, smoking a cigar. Gotta be the world's longest clubs. Like how long are the clubs for Anthony Davis?
We get all of that. And he's still going to come back for a Dallas Mavericks team that, let's be real, what are they playing for? They got a record of 34 and 37. It's probably in their best interest to just tank out and just bail on the entire season.
I mean, their ownership basically bailed on the entire franchise when they decided to send Luka Doncic out to Los Angeles. And so the Mavericks beat the Pistons a few days ago. And now Anthony Davis getting ready to make his return tonight for the Dallas Mavericks. And what are the odds that he stays healthy?
I don't know. I hate to be the guy to go, is he going to make it through this game? That's Anthony Davis. And if Anthony Davis dares make it through this game, what are the real odds that Anthony Davis, I don't know, doesn't get hurt the next game? Like he's basically, he is a basketball ticking time bomb.
He has zero expectation that this guy will ever stay healthy. Dallas Mavericks already sent Luka out. And now you have an issue with Kyrie Irving sitting around on live streams.
It's just bad all the way around for the Dallas Mavericks. We'll get into that a little bit later on in the show as Kyrie Irving had an adventurous weekend now that he's unavailable to actually play basketball. But right now let's talk to someone who covers basketball, keeps up with everything college basketball for the field of 68. We got him. We tracked him down. Here he is, Mike Latula. Mike, how are you, man?
I am doing well. It's taking a breather here before we get going again on Thursday. Hey, you need a little bit of a breather between Sunday and Thursday. And you know, the things keep on a rolling here. We got a lot of coaching changes that are obviously taking place.
The transfer portal is kind of crazy that it's open while the tournament is still going on. Are there any coaching changes that really caught your attention so far? Well, I think as a guy that played in the Big Ten, just looking at the three that are coming in currently to the Big Ten with Ben McCollum during the breeze and Nico Medved at Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota, those are three really good coaches.
And I think it bolsters the overall profile of the league in my opinion. And I just think it's funny as well that those three are the three most recent coaches at Drake and they're all now coming into the Big Ten. But yeah, there's still more dominoes to fall.
I think you look and see, okay, well, who gets to save your job? Is it Chris Mack coming from Charleston? I don't think it'll be Pat Kelsey after what he's done at Louisville. Does Porter Moser move on from Oklahoma and go back to more of the Midwest?
I mean, there's a lot on the table. Obviously, Villanova is still open. It looks like Chris Collins is staying put at Northwestern, but is that a spot for Mick Cronin? If Steve Forbes takes West Virginia, does Wes Miller get Wake Forest? And then does Mick Cronin go back to Cincinnati? If you can't tell, I am more of a coaching carousel guy than I am a transfer portal guy. I think it's fascinating because I think the carousel is what dictates the transfer portal most times.
Oh my God. Well, when you talk about all the coaches that are moving around, Mike Latulip is here with us on the JR Sport Reshow. When you talk about all these coaches that are moving around, let's take a look at somebody who just moved. A lot of people thought he was done at Kentucky, needed a new place and now in Arkansas.
What we just saw with Coach Cal, what should we expect from him and how long should we expect from him to be there? Yeah, I think it's been really cool to see them make it to the Sweet 16. I think as the season went on and as that team turned the corner specifically, I think they had a lot of fire behind them and I think they had a lot of motivation to make sure that all the people that were talking and kind of writing off Cal in the middle of the season and writing off that team that this was kind of the payback and then the payoff for it. So I think it's kind of reinvigorated him in a way. I think he's back to that UMass days where he was a bit of the underdog. I think he feels that in this tournament. He hasn't felt that in a long time when you look at all the success he had at Kentucky and the way that kind of fizzled out at the end. I think he's kind of had a bit of a rebirth and he's got the perfect team for it too. He's got guys that can really go and get a bucket with DJ Wagner and Boogie Fland and Janelle Davis and then you have the bigs that they have in Brazil and they do. It's a really good mix of athletes and and dogs quite frankly that he can just cut loose and you know in a game against St. John's where that is what they do.
They try to get after you. They flip the script on them and I think this is really vindicating for Cal to prove that he can go to a new spot, overhaul a roster, and then make it back to a second weekend. The former Fighting Illini guard Mike LaTula is here with us on the JR sport re-show. Do you expect them to knock off Texas Tech?
I think it's going to be a close one. I think at this point we've seen that with the maturation of that Arkansas team with roles being a little bit more defined getting more out of Nellie Davis as the season's gone on they are not your average 10 seed and you have a Texas Tech team that has a you know inexperienced guys from the standpoint of being in the NCAA tournament. You flip to the other side and you know Jonas Adu was in an elite eight last year for Tennessee. You got Nellie Davis who played in a final four for Florida Atlantic. You got a lot of guys that have played in this tournament and not as many I don't think for Texas Tech. So that's a positive for Arkansas. It's a close I think the spread is pretty close in that game four and a half five and a half that feels about right. I think it's going to be one of the better games of the Sweet 16. Mike you talk about the surprises there. No surprises here when it comes down to Duke and Auburn and Houston and Florida.
Has that gone to plan as you expected? I think it has. I think when you look at the the the net rating and efficiency of those four teams specifically when everybody references Ken Pom you know the Ken Pom database for for analytics and how those teams are ranked those four teams are four of the top eight teams ever in that database going back to 1997. And so all the one seeds Duke and Auburn are both up there. Duke and Florida are both up there as two of the top four teams in that database since 97. Auburn I think is fifth or sixth.
Houston is in that like seven or eight range. It's unbelievable the power at the top and then all the two seeds this year would have been one seeds last year going off that ranking. So it's it's amazing and no surprise that we didn't have any of those crazy 15-2 16-1 upsets. That just wasn't happening this year.
That top is way too dominant. In my opinion it starts with Duke. Well you talk about what we expect. You got Duke winning it all? Is that where you sit Mike?
I do. I just think forget the the lottery picks and Cooper Flagg and and even the counterparts with how good Tyrese Proctor's been and and how good Cion James is and Mason Gilson comes off the bench. I look at their mentality and I look at their attention detail and it never changes from game to game defensively.
Everybody's assignment sound. Everybody gets after the ball. Everybody attacks the glass and they do it every single game. There's no hey who we playing tonight. There's none of that and I think that that psyche gives you the best chance I think to win and win consistently in March and that's a team that I think I trust the most to to win six games in this you know in this in this sprint of the NCAA tournament.
Michael Atulip is here with us from the field of 68. You talk about a team that I would say most people did not expect to be here especially after losing their head coach Mark Pope. BYU we haven't seen them this far in like 15 years. What are your thoughts on their chances against all that firepower Alabama has? I think again and I would almost feel like a broken record saying this and this is why I think upsets are good early but you want you want the big dogs playing in the sweet 16 and beyond and I think that's that's what we have. I mean that BYU Alabama game could end up being in the in the 90s.
I firmly believe that. I think that they have just they showed it in the big 12. They showed it in big moments in the big 12 but that BYU team with Richie Richie Saunders you know Igor Demmon you know the the star freshman is probably going to be a top 20 pick in the NBA draft this year. BYU is continuing to build. Kevin Young brings his system over from from the Phoenix Suns and then they're running a lot of NBA concepts and they're just fun to watch. They are. They they fly around. They're a lot more athletic I think than you would beg a BYU team to be.
They're physical. They're strong and they they play at a really exciting pace and and not only that this is a team that is in a sweet 16 now can go beyond it and has the number one player in the country signed to play for them next year. It's it's it's unbelievable what's happening in Provo. Mike as we start to wrap things up I gotta I gotta ask you and get your thoughts. You played.
Man you out there handling the basketball. A lot of people are making a whole to do about what took place last night with Derek Queen. I'm watching it. I'm looking at it live. I'm just going looks normal to me.
I mean if I had if my eyes worked in slow motion then I call everything a travel. What are your thoughts on what took place and then also there's a lot of eyes now on Queen. People are going to be paying attention to it.
Yeah well what took place and I was in a firestorm last night on Twitter or X because I said I you know I said I I watched it live. I watched the replay. I don't see a travel and you got a lot of people throwing the rule book at me and saying well there's not a gather step in college basketball. I'm of the mindset and I'm speaking from just the way the game is officiated. If if the if it is not enforced ever then it is allowed and if it's allowed then there is a gather step in college basketball. So that that is I don't I don't really care what the rules say because that's not the way it's officiated. They when he has that gather step and then takes two steps that is not a travel and so that that is I don't care again you can throw the rules at me but that's just it's it's different the way it's reflected on the court.
So I didn't think it was a travel. I'm glad they didn't call that in that moment. They never call that whether it's a big moment or not. So glad they they didn't call that but Derek Queen I mean he's just been fantastic. He's the Big Ten freshman of the year in a in with a freshman lineup in the Big Ten that is probably as good as we've seen in 20 years.
It was it was that good. So for him to win out there he's just he's so multifaceted. He's so talented. He can score with either hand. He's long.
He gets downhill and and he's so so skilled. So I'm I'm really fascinated to see this Maryland front court with Derek Queen and Julian Reese playing against this Florida front court of Alex Condon and Thomas Howe. We know what the backcourt matchup looks like on both sides but that front court matchup is going to be absolutely incredible. I think you're going to you have pros all over the place in that game and and you know I had Maryland as I'd said a few weeks ago I said I would be surprised to see them go to a Final Four and when I saw the path I said it may be tough with Florida but you got to look at it from Florida then too.
Florida's got to play Maryland to advance so it goes both ways in this tournament. Well Mike we discussed this we saw what took place with with Florida and then UConn and you know Dan Hurley after the game saying that you know maybe maybe he's been sitting on a little bit too of a much of a high horse and an ego getting involved and okay great when you don't have players who are now going on to the NBA. What are your thoughts on how things will look next year and the year after?
This guy's under contract for 2030. What do you think the future is going to hold for Hurley and then UConn? I think this is a wake-up call for for Dan Hurley and UConn. I think when you win two national championships and you return Alex Karabane you return some pieces from that core I think you expect it to be kind of set it and forget it we're going to get a few pieces in the portal but we don't want to rock the boat too much. I think he knows with with the departure of Cam Spencer and Tristan Newton and Donovan Clingan and Steph Castle yeah there's a lot to replace that's NBA talent that you're you're replacing across the board and so I just I don't think they did a good enough job of replenishing it and I thought they maybe thought that the culture would kind of propel them forward and it's great I do think UConn has one of the best cultures in in college basketball but to but to win six in March and and get to that that national championship you got to have pros uh you got to have pros specifically on the wing and they just they just didn't have that this year so I think it's a it's a look in the mirror type of type of year for for Hurley from a roster construction standpoint but I'll say this I think and maybe this is an unpopular opinion I think he's good for the sport I really do I think there's I I don't like the coaches who think they're too too cool for school on the sideline Dan Hurley cares I don't think any of us can doubt that and and he cares to a to a high degree and you saw yesterday when he can get into that underdog mode like he was against Florida they almost knocked them off and probably should have knocked them off if they have that cold patch of four minutes or so in the second half so I I love what he's doing I think he's great for the sport and I have no doubt that Yukon's gonna absolutely reload for next year okay all right we'll see how that goes and see how he responds to it as well hey Mike thank you so much for the time where can people follow you and all of your work with the field of 68 yeah field of 68 after dark we do really nightly shows I'm on there with a with a cast of analysts and we kind of cycle through you know every every night and and then beyond that at Latula underscore mike on twitter slash x and yeah so I'll give him some give him some thoughts on there but that's those are the main places you can find me hey mike appreciate it man we'll catch you on down the line okay absolutely appreciate you guys no doubt about it that mike latula used to play for the fighting Illini and now covers the sport for the field of 68 it's the jr sport brie show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network eight eight eight seven ten four isn that's eight eight eight seven ten four isn I told you before we were joined by mike that we might see bigfoot we might actually see Anthony Davis suit up and play basketball I'm gonna give you an update on that on the other side of the break and then Kyrie Irving I guess he's bored he can't play he's sitting around doing hours long live streams we'll get into that we'll talk more about these coaches and college basketball all the movement you're listening to the jr sport brief oh my goodness wow what is that a commercial hickey that's they still use that in the commercial too don't they oh they do that they do is that mastercard priceless I don't know mastercard you know it man there's so many of these different currencies and stuff I can't keep up man I don't know it used to be here's mastercard here's visa here's American express now you got to keep up with crypto and it's just a lot man I'm gonna start my own currency I feel that's what most of this bitcoin stuff is anyway why can't I just hickey people will put value on whatever if you can sell it like if I start selling grains of sand and and con people into telling it's valuable or saying it's valuable I could become rich tomorrow I mean hock too made a coin that was profitable for I mean there's like 10 minutes but still and we haven't heard from her since no we have not you think she's in therapy or what hiding she's talking to a lot of lawyers right now first and foremost oh boy make sure she's escaping some jail time that's sad right that kind of sad that's like the that's like a and we don't know but it it really is a prime example of how uh fame and celebrity and social media could they could chew you up and then spit you out like she got famous for talking about uh an intimate act she parlayed that fame into she didn't she throw out her first pitch at a Mets game uh she did kids day it was kids day at the Mets kids day at city field she was there throwing the first pitch she was started a podcast she's hanging out with celebrities she's hanging out with Shaq you think Shaq is calling her trying to help her out now I know oh no yeah I think he's staying far away from that Friday take a yes of course man think about it wasn't it a couple of years ago this other other coin FTX got all these other athletes who are worth billions and millions of dollars in trouble I don't think hak to a a girl has a 20 30 40 50 million dollar contract a year like Steph Curry or Tom Brady so I feel bad for her a little bit a cautionary uh tale of of fame this is sad sad stuff hey thank you to Mike LaTula for joining us in the last break uh to give his thoughts on what we've seen and what we will see of the rest of the way with the March Madness tournament we're going to get into some more college basketball uh in a bit I did mention this right before we spoke to Mike LaTula there's a basketball game going on in Brooklyn right now and speaking of seeing things this is it's a shame to see what happened to a hak to a girl Anthony Davis is actually playing basketball for the Dallas Mavericks the Mavs in Brooklyn right now they lead 10 to 4 I had to look and I said yeah that's Anthony Davis on the basketball court he has four points two rebounds and two assists here uh in the early portion of the game Anthony Davis is back why I have no idea because the Mavericks are wasting everybody's time this is such a joke of a season for the Dallas Mavericks that people are even saying that they need to immediately trade Anthony Davis but here's a problem yeah that might sound nice if you want to reset the Dallas Mavericks were the only idiots the only idiots to willingly trade for Anthony Davis who the hell else says we want Anthony Davis and says nobody I'd be surprised if he makes it three games without getting hurt again Dallas Mavericks are currently 11th in the Western Conference and they're not winning a damn thing especially with Kyrie Irving out who by the way I did tell you this Kyrie Irving spent his weekend on a live stream now I didn't watch it because what the hell am I doing sitting around for five hours watching Kyrie Irving there's no point but I did see some of these clips Kyrie Irving is playing basketball well video games I don't know he's talking about basketball he's telling people don't worry about his sister he's just just weird like there's no rehab to do you want to break from rehab I get it it's not 24 7 but Kyrie did take some time on his twitch stream so pretty much complain like everybody else does about the coverage of the NBA listen to Kyrie Irving with his torn ACL nothing better to do and I'm talking to some of the former players too they have lost their way I will say their names when I address them when I see them in person but there are some former players that just be talking chat on on like you don't even be talking about anything all you do is hate on the younger players and then you got young players looking up to these older players and we see them as I'm not gonna call them my idol but we looked up to them we valued their journeys we respected their journeys we wanted to get close to them and then when you see somebody that you respect like that admire go on TV and talk about your journey as if it's just some oh yeah this just happens to you all the time just get get over it because you make a bunch of money I'm so sick of that excuse bro that you're not allowed to feel because you make a lot of money in the NBA and you get paid and oh my gosh like people on Twitter on social media crucifying people that are making millions of dollars and they're not playing in games because they're injured but that that's part of the job like the criticism comes with the job like you're making a lot of money you are a public figure you're making this money because of the public you're not getting paid millions of dollars because you're good at basketball you're getting paid millions of dollars because people want to watch you play basketball and so that's it when you're a public figure you you open yourself up for criticism why complain about it and I at this point in time the piling on and he didn't want to say their names he was referring to guys like Shaq and Charles Barkley like that's what piling on at this point those guys aren't going anywhere the only thing that we'll see different from Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal is that they're they're going to be on TNT or excuse me they'll be on ESPN next year with a show produced by TNT that's it like nothing is going to change and I get it if you're Shaquille O'Neal you're sitting around you don't know where Chauncey Billups coaches that's that's sad like use that as a better excuse but being an active player being criticized from former players it's kind of old at this point y'all are making plenty of money and so instead of addressing it on Twitch live streams and on social media and podcasts when you are in front of Charles Barkley or Shaq go up to him and say something like I I'd love to see that just go say something go say something to them in the back say something to them privately everybody complaining on social media is the most indirect and wasteful town hall that I've ever seen in my life I'm sure Kyrie is busting his ass in rehab I'm sure he's trying to get back at onto the basketball court but what we don't need is another athlete complaining on social media when they can't play what are we going to get next an Anthony Davis podcast what is he going to talk about it's going to be about rehab like what are we doing yes it's the JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network when we come back with hey how about this Cam Moore just he completed he completed his pro day at Miami and he had some words for the titans I'll tell you on the other side don't move
