It is! The JR Sportbreeze Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to everybody tuned in and locked in all over North America on this Friday afternoon, this Friday evening, this Friday night.

I guess it depends on where you live. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Super producer and host Ryan Hickey is holding it down for us in New York City and we're going to be here for one more hour. This show gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m Eastern, 3 Pacific.

I said that already. You can always listen on the free Odyssey app. Hit rewind. Thank you to everybody listening live on their local Infinity Sports Network affiliate. You can listen on Sirius XM Channel 158. If you got Sirius, go ahead, lock it in. And if you have a smart speaker just walking around in your house, your phone has a smart speaker, ask it to play the Infinity Sports Network and boom, we pop right on up.

It's been a busy show. Up. How about this? Oh my goodness.

Stop the music. The Detroit Tigers have beat have beaten past tense. The Detroit Tigers have beaten the Chicago White Sox 4-1. The Chicago White Sox now have 121 losses. The Chicago White Sox are now officially the worst team ever in baseball history. Modern baseball history. I'm talking about since 1900. There's been no team.

There's been no human being alive to remember. A team is bad as the Chicago White Sox of 2024. After a three game winning streak beating the Los Angeles Angels, sweeping them, showed you how bad the Angels are. The team that's actually a wild card squad, the Tigers, they say, uh-uh, that's enough of that crap.

4-1, they beat the White Sox. The White Sox are the worst. How are you the worst at anything in 124 years? You would think 124 years later that you'd actually get better, not get worse. There's a reason why nobody's been this bad since 1899.

What are we doing? It's 2024. And Jerry Ronsdorf, the owner of the Chicago White Sox, he should be forced to sell the team because it is bad. There should be something in the bylaws that say, hey, if you suck so bad as the worst team ever, you got to sell the team because you suck as an owner.

You got to sell the team because you suck as an owner. Here's the reality too. Like, they can't be this bad next year, right? Hickey, is there a human being on, what is there, maybe one person in the cave somewhere that's 124 years old? I'm not even sure about that, maybe, but geez, yeah. Oh my God. This is bad. It is bad. Let's see.

I like Google, oldest human on earth, oldest living human on earth. 115 is coming to mind. Where are we at here? That's the guess. 160. Oh, okay. Almost.

Okay. In Japan, of course, people in Japan, they live good lives, right? Very peaceful lives. They're doing something right.

Yeah, they are. Uh, Tomiko Ituka is the oldest living person in the world. According to the Guinness book of world records, 116 years old, received the certificate on respect for the age day, a Japanese public holiday that honors the country's elderly citizens. She is the oldest person. She doesn't even know what a white sock is. Okay. She doesn't know what a white sock is.

She wasn't even allowed to see him. There is not a living person on earth who's seen a baseball team this bad. The New York Mets from 1962 and expansion team in 1962.

They got off easy here because now we got a worse team. The all time record. Well, it was 1899, the Cleveland spiders. They lost 134 games. Chicago White Sox don't have enough left, but damn, damn, that's bad.

Wow. This is like an NBA team only winning three games in an 82 game season. I can't even say that there's any equivalent to the NFL. I mean, now they play 17 games. We've seen a team not win a game in a season, but damn.

Wow. I feel bad. I felt bad for the Oakland athletic fans yesterday.

They snatched the team away from them. If you're a White Sox fan, what do you do today? You even watch it like, what are you doing? Pathetic. 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27.

That's 8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Yeah. Let's talk about something else in the Midwest that's not pathetic. Kaitlin Clark is not pathetic because Sean Charonia has said that Kaitlin Clark, surprise, surprise, Kaitlin Clark has been named rookie of the year in the WNBA after her Indiana fever got into the postseason with a record of 20 and 20. After Kaitlin Clark for the year averaged 20.6 rebounds, eight assists. She's rookie of the year in the month of September.

She averaged 25.9 assists, five and a half rebounds of steel. That's her just being a rookie. And now her season is done, eliminated by the Connecticut sun. And everybody who doesn't like Kaitlin Clark, they get a break because Kaitlin Clark said, she's going on a break. She's going to relax. She's going to chill. Well, Kaitlin Clark early in the day had her end of season press conference before she just calls it a wrap and hangs out on a boat and designs a shoe for Nike.

And I don't know all this stuff. Kaitlin Clark spoke and specifically, and this is always what it has to drive back to. Kaitlin Clark talked about some of the nastiness in the comments online. We heard from Alyssa Thomas last night from Connecticut said, she's been called things online and hate and vitriol. And so Kaitlin Clark was asked about all of that. And I guess Kaitlin Clark has to diffuse things. Is this her job?

Take a listen. It's definitely upsetting. I don't think there's nobody in our league should be facing any sort of racism, hurtful, disrespectful, hateful comments and threats. You know, those aren't fans.

Those are trolls. And it's a real disservice to the people in our league, the organization, the WNBA. But there are a lot of really good fans, whether they've been fans for 20 plus years or whether they're new fans in our league. I think continuing to uplift this league in a very positive light is the best thing that we can do because there are so many great players. There's so many great teams. There are so many positive storylines that can be written and celebrated. And for me, that's why I became a fan of this league is these people were my idols.

I grew up wanting to be like them. So I think continuing to uplift and represent this league in a positive way is the best thing that we can do. OK.

I agree with her. But there's so much that's been built on negativity and the rivalry between her and an angel Reese that welcome. I think there's always going to be a rivalry between the two of them.

And you're going to have idiots who fan the flames. This is the world that we live in, and it's not just the WNBA, it's everywhere. Come on. Russell Westbrook is one of the most decorated NBA players ever. Russell Westbrook has been approached in the street. People calling him Westbrook. Come on.

LeBron James had the N-word sprawled across the front of his house when he moved to Los Angeles. Come on. Like, it don't matter if you're male or female, people are nasty out here. And she's correct, they're trolls.

And one thing is the WNBA continues to mature and grow. They got to realize just like everybody else. Yeah, there's a time to speak out, but this isn't overall.

And this is a message for everybody, anybody out there. Kaitlin Clark is right. They're not fans. They're trolls.

And if you've ever heard anything, here's a cliche, also JR Wisdom. Don't feed the trolls. I mean, is every WNBA press conference, I mean, going to have to talk about how the trolls are there? There comes a point in time where the players themselves, they help control what's said. Everybody loves to use the word narrative and the narrative is created.

And Angel Reese says, oh, the media's made me into a villain. No, no, you control the narrative. You control how you behave. Yeah, people are going to have something to say anyway. That's part of the deal.

You can't control anything, but you have to understand what you can control, what you say, how you respond, when you respond. It just can't be. They said nasty things about me. I wish it stopped. And that can't be that way every day. You know, ain't nothing wrong with telling the report. I don't know.

I'm not talking about that. Stop asking me about the negative fan reaction. We have great fans.

We appreciate them. Hickey, they should let me do the media training. How much do I got to get paid to do this for the WNBA? Well, it seems like a lot of people in the league could use it.

So you name your price. They should give you a blank check. Probably can right now. Yeah, disastrous. What are your thoughts on this? I mean, they the players have more. Don't you think the players have more control over this than they realize that they keep at this point?

They are a lot. They keep bringing it up and they don't have to. And if the reporters are asking them this, it's the art of what you say. It's been mastered by so many other leagues.

The WNBA and for what it's growing into is new, relatively speaking. Don't you think they have more control over this? Yes and no. The media is going to continue to ask. We see all the time. Coach speaks for a reason. We played the Matt Leflore clip before about Jordan Love. Even though he's not saying anything, reporters are going to ask him five different ways. Hey, what's the status of Jordan Love?

Is he going to play? So I think you are going to get the questions. And I think maybe depending on the storyline and how big it is, whatever you say, that there still will be five questions. I think overall, even a bigger picture is just, I think you're seeing now what kind of happens when you get too big, too quick. It does feel like overnight the WNBA went from an afterthought to now in the main picture. Obviously, mostly because of one person. And I think when you're used to maybe saying whatever you want or pushing stories off because there's only one or two people on the beat.

And maybe even if you say something, it's not picked up as much just because it's not as mainstream. But now everything is under a microscope around certain topics. I think you're kind of seeing like kind of a little bit of too much too quick here when it comes to attention media to where I don't think a lot of the players frankly know how to handle it well. I think that's why you're kind of seeing a lot of this back and forth, frustration at times, unable or unsure how to handle everything. And that's why you're kind of seeing, I think, a lot of this. Yeah.

And that's why I think over time, you know, this is going to change. Like Angel Reese is spending time on her podcast explaining to people who she really is. Like, well, what does that do? That that that that that's an opposition to. So what people that you're not helping the cause is my point. You're not like I get if you want to do it, like what's the real purpose just to make money or to show people who you are so you can control your narrative. So you're being combative already.

Hey, I'm doing this, you know, just to show people who I really am by sitting down in a pot. And most of our podcasts are talking about Kaitlyn Clark. What are we doing?

Damn. I hope this changes next year into next season. Do I think it will? I probably not, because, you know what, a lot of these games, Kaitlyn Clark's games are going to be sold out. I don't know. Maybe, maybe Juju Watkins comes into the WNBA in a couple of years and she helps sells out. I don't know. How the WNBA continues to grow and handle all of this.

Hickey, you said it perfectly. This is maybe too much too soon. Not necessarily exposure and money. Good for them. If y'all can earn it, then you deserve it. Don't matter if one person brought it or two or three or what have you. Utilize it. Grow.

But there's got to come a point in time, I hope it comes sooner than later, where we can talk about the storylines of the WNBA and the feuds and the basketball, just like every other sport. All of them. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. I told you tonight, the Chicago White Sox made history. The worst team ever in modern Major League Baseball history.

I'm talking about since the year 1900. The Tigers beat the White Sox tonight 4-1. And this is a surprise to me. This is going to be the first time I hear this as well.

This is the White Sox radio network. This is their call of the final out. Now, are they going to be matter of fact? Are they going to be disappointed? I mean, they certainly can't be excited that their team lost. I'm going to go with they're going to play this real even.

Oh, that it is. The Tigers beat the White Sox 4-1. Chicago White Sox now have 121 losses, unfortunately, breaking a modern record. I'm going to take a guess that they played it even. Let's hear the final out of the White Sox making history that you don't want. A mob scene behind the mound. White Sox staved off, lost 121 for a few days.

But the loss tonight means they have set some histories. Oh, come on. Hickey, why did he stop there? Come on. Did he say the rest of it? No. They went to break him. He stopped it right there? Right there with the totals.

No, you have to be fully trained. I get it. It's the home radio station for the White Sox. Everybody listening gets it. But for just just for context, you have to not history. You have to say what do you agree? You have to say what it is.

It's implied, but you have to say what it is. Not defense, but I guess the only thing I'll say is when you've been tracking this record for a month, right, since it's kind of been on the radar. Do you like.

I'm assuming White Sox fans only are listening. Do you have to say you think? Yeah, I think so. Like you have to hit the it's the facts. I don't know. I don't consider myself to be a journalist. I didn't study journalism.

I think I'm familiar with it. Kind of sort of you hit the facts, man. You just hit the facts. He got us right there. It's like, oh, it's history with one hundred and twenty one losses history.

Most losses in Major League. That's it. You got to hit it. I'm disappointed, man.

Implying that they're awful. We know that. But just go all the way, man.

I'll do it myself. The Tigers beat the White Sox tonight, the final score four to one. The Detroit Tigers with the victory, they clinched themselves a playoff appearance. The Chicago White Sox now have one hundred and twenty one losses.

That is a Major League record in the modern era. None. That's it. That's all he had to say.

But hey, if you know your team sucks and so do the fans, what else does it matter to anybody? It's the J.R. sport re-show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven.

Phone lines are open. If you want to give me a holler, we're going to quickly run through some of these injuries that have taken place in the NFL. I did tell you that Magic Johnson had some thoughts on Bronny James. We'll do that, of course, at the end of the show. Before we roll out, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.

And we'll go do all of that on the other side of the break. You're locked in to the J.R. Sport Brief Show, the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the J.R. Sport Brief. It's the J.R.

Sport Brief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. Again, congratulations to the Tigers. Yeah, they beat the White Sox. White Sox have the worst record ever in modern baseball history.

One hundred and twenty one. Tigers are going to the postseason for the first time in 10 years. I remember vividly having a conversation.

Someone called a few months ago and asked me about Tarik Scubel. And I said, let me know when they're winning. I said, I got no time to sit down and watch the Detroit Tigers. Well, now the Tigers are good. I'll see them in the postseason.

This is all anybody would want. I haven't sat down and watched this guy. No, he's leading in strikeouts and inning space guys whooping ass. Let's see what he does in the postseason. Congratulations to the Tiger fans who don't know what the postseason is. Letting everybody know, especially the White Sox, that may be somewhere down the line in another 10 years. It might be some hope.

Maybe. Eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. That's eight five five two one two forty two twenty seven. This portion of the show is brought to you by Ethos Life. Yeah. Hey, J.R. and Ryan. Hey, I had to give you a shout out call today because, you know, Sunday the Saints play the Falcons. And I also wanted to compliment you because I didn't know that you're like maybe 28 or 29 years old. I would have thought with the way you conduct yourself with your voice and everything, I put you at about 40 years old. So I'm really impressed that you're that you've accomplished what you've accomplished. And I looked you up on the Internet.

I'm not a big computer guy, but I noticed that you're quite the entrepreneur, that you've been doing this for some time and that you're you have you know, you have a lot of ambition. And you obviously I guess when you're born out of your mommy's belly that you must have come out talking this way because you talk like Denzel. And I've always liked Denzel. And you're smooth. You're just smooth.

Like I like I used to listen to Scotty Pharrell because he had such an unusual voice. And you're the same thing. You got a voice, a million dollar voice. Well, you got to make it. You got you guys make a great team.

The two of you together where you found things off. And it's fun. It's fun sparring with you. I mean, I'm not trying to beat you down or anything, but fun kind of playing with you. But I had to call at you because of the.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Well, thank well, thank you. And I will I will I will certainly take that I have I've been working for a very long time, longer than you think. And I will gladly take the age that you gave me because it's inaccurate. But I'll take it. Thank you. Oh, oh, really? I thought it was I thought you're I thought they said you were like 28 or something.

Yeah, I'll take it. Why not? Why not? I put you I put you around. You act like you're 40. I mean, to me, I mean, but you're going to you're going to pay my taxes.

No, no, no, no, no, no. All right. I'm saying you're going to take me out on a date next.

I don't know if I get something out of it, I'll be how old you need me to be. Right. I got you.

There you go. No, it's it's you. You have good people skills and you're very polite. Somebody trained you, somebody, your father or uncle, somebody.

I don't know. You sound like you're a Christian, man, because you're real polite. You've got good manners.

And that's I respect that. But anyway, getting back to the Saints and the Falcons is that this is a pretty major deal between the Saints and Falcons because it's almost like the Waterloo, the Falcons really need this game. And you've got the Alabama playing Georgia. It could be a huge Atlanta weekend if Georgia and the Falcons win.

Or it could be a big time drinking weekend if they both lose. I don't know what's going to happen. Are you emotionally tied to either the Falcons or the Jets? Both, unfortunately.

Wait, wait. Now, when you emotionally tied, like, I like them. I like both of them. I love them. The Jets treat me great. The Falcons treat me great.

I'm talking about the actual organization. So I like them. I'm good. You know, it's that both places are home for me. So I like them. I'm not going to keel over if they lose. I'm used to both of them losing. But, you know, it's whatever.

Well, the difference. See, the thing that makes you kind of unique among the sports jocks out there now are analysts is that most of them push the sports betting. And you and David Sheppard mentioned that you don't gamble. And that's another thing I respect about you. Smart. Very smart.

I mean, you actually have to promote some of these things that they want you to promote, but you're not a gambler. And so you definitely have a good head on your shoulders and you've got it. You've got a good game. You know what you're doing. But the thing is, is that I was curious whether you actually really rooted for either the Jets or the Falcons. Yes. Yes, I do. I root for them.

See, here's this. This is the difficult thing about I don't want to say working in sports or having worked with the teams or knowing the people who work there. You know, I'm not going to sit around and say, hey, I know everybody at every team because I don't. I don't. Do I know people at some teams?

Yeah. Like I know people at the Saints. I could call up the Saints tomorrow if I wanted to. I obviously know people here with the Falcons and the Jets. When you work with the teams and you sometimes understand and know the inner workings and and know what goes on behind the scenes, it changes your fandom a little bit like I'm not going to live and die in the same way. Like I love the New York Knicks. I love them.

I love them. I don't like the owner. You know, I don't I don't care for some of the things that go on behind the scenes. Don't care. I know people who played for the owner. I know players who will tell me, oh, playing for the Knicks was the greatest experience in the NBA. Good, great. But at the end of the day, I want to see them win. But if if they keep losing, it's just like whatever to me.

I'm not like I will live and be happy, but I'm not going to die if they just suck, you know. Well, I saw something I knew about you doing some video stuff for you on the cinematography. Do you do some would you be into movies, movies? I've been in a few commercials. I've been in BET Christmas movies. Does that count? Well, that's what I'm saying. I think that you have an aptitude for that.

That might be another another thing when you're done with sports movies. Hey, listen, if you want it, the best thing I can be as an actor is myself. If you want to represent me and get me some money, then you go ahead and I'll be here to take the money and I give you some, OK? That sounds like a plan.

It sounds like a plan. Do you shoot pool? Do I shoot? I shoot a lot of things.

I shoot pool, but I'm not I'm not all that competitive. I don't care. You know what I like to do? I like to eat. I like to drink and I like to exercise.

It's the trifecta. I don't care. That sounds that's good. You get you get to eat the good stuff. Eat the steak. Well, anyway, I want to know your predictions. Who's going to win the game? Falcons. Falcons at home. OK, have a good weekend, man. Thank you so much, Kingfish.

The Falcons are not that bad that they go one and three. Not that bad. Hickey, that guy knows he knows more about my life than anything else.

And accurately, I think if anybody was ever thinking about making a movie about you, right, they just got the whole script right there. You think so? There was some things he was right on it and some things he was wrong about. Very generous on the age. Hey, watch him out. Not that not that far. Well, yeah. Yeah, I guess I am not that far off and very kind, though.

Very nice. You should see the terrible, awful things I do when I'm not on the radio. Why would I publish those things?

Come on now. Life is all about balance. This is why I exist.

You can Google whatever you want. You get half the story. Some of it, I guess. It's the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break. When we come back, you're going to hear one of the greatest crap talkers in basketball history. Magic Johnson had some words for Bronny James, of all people.

Well, he didn't didn't diss him, but he did have some advice, some thoughts. We'll hear that. I'll share with you a few things that took place this day in sports history, and then I'll run you quickly through some of these unfortunate injuries in the NFL as we move towards another week of football. It's the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network.

You're listening to the J.R. Sportbreeze, the J.R. Sportbreeze show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Man, Hickey, this is the last break. I don't know if I feel like we just got here or it's the end.

I don't know. It has flown by. It's been a very quick show.

Yeah, well, anyway, Bart Winkler coming your way at the top of the hour. You know, let's let's go through some of these injuries. We talked so much about some of the games this weekend on the college side and the NFL side. I guess if there's really one or a couple of injuries that stand out, it's all of the injuries to the 49ers. And people are still trying to figure out specifically what's going on with Christian McCaffrey and that Achilles. He's been all over the world. He's going to Germany.

He's getting checked. And apparently there's a report that says that Christian McCaffrey is now going to start rehab on that calf, on that Achilles of this upcoming Monday. John Lynch actually spoke on KNBR GM, the boss man of the 49ers. And he explained why Christian McCaffrey went to Germany. Listen to this.

It was flared up bilateral Achilles tendonitis. And so we needed to quiet it down. So the plan was to give it the time to do that.

And then at some point in a thoughtful way to ramp them back up. So now Christian's back here and at some point we'll get back, you know, we'll have to hit certain markers and we'll try the ramp up. And, you know, God willing, the thing has quieted down and we can build him back up in a really smart and thoughtful way. Of course we want him back. He's a game changer for us, but we want him back healthy. And so we'll take the necessary time for that, how much it takes.

I don't think anyone knows right now. And we'll start that process, kind of reconvene now that he's back and see where he's at. And we'll get a plan together.

That plan's been in the process of being made, but we'll put that plan to action. And the 49ers take on the New England Patriots. So at least I don't want to say this is a gift. We all know you play any NFL game, you can go out there and lose a game that is not a gift. We got a grudge match. We have the Packers taking on the Minnesota Vikings. We know what type of a hot start that Sam Donald is on. He's already thrown eight touchdowns. Jordan Love, unfortunately, he's been out a couple of weeks now with that knee injury, that MCL sprain.

We thought it was going to be a long time. He might actually play this upcoming Sunday. And why not? I mean, if you can give it a full go, go ahead, play against those Minnesota Vikings.

They're three and oh, you know, you want to get to that place in that point. And so Matt Leflore was asked, are we going to see Jordan Love? Malik Willis has done a great job holding down the fort. Matt Leflore asked, what's going on with Jordan Love? He didn't want to say too much.

Listen to this. Every day is a new day and we'll see, you know, how he's responded throughout the course of the week and see where we're at. So not to rephrase Bill's question, but do you know what you're doing and you just, and I respect your right to not tell us, but do you know what you're doing and you're not telling us or do you not really know what you're doing at this point? I never know what I'm doing. Just flying by the seat of my pants. I am curious if you are encouraged by what you saw from him throughout the course of the week and it's limited in the past.

I think anytime he's out there, I mean, that's, it's encouraging. So, but, um, again, we'll see. I need somebody to ask Rob Salah of the New York Jets if he knows what he's doing.

Hickey, what would his response be? Ask Aaron Rodgers, right? Exactly. That's a question for Joe. Yeah. Ask my, no, not Joe. Ask Aaron.

Ask my boss. Well, I guess you're right. Yeah.

Yeah. Forget Joe Douglas. Joe, Hey Joe, you know what you're doing? Ask Aaron Rodgers.

Like he's running the whole show. It really goes, I think the pecking order is Woody Johnson, his brother, Aaron Rodgers, Joe Douglas, Quinnen Williams, and then Rob Salah. I think in that order. He's above Garrett Wilson, huh? Okay.

Like a defensive guy. Why not? Okay. That's fair. Why not?

8 5 5 2 1 2 42 27. Hey, some other injuries. Unfortunately, we learned from last night that Michael Parsons, you got that sprained ankle.

He's going to be out anywhere from two to four weeks, maybe more. Uh, if you, if you care about the Raiders and are looking forward to what they have to do against the Browns, uh, Devante Adams will not play with a hamstring issue. And then Max Crosby dealing with a high ankle sprain and he's doubtful.

And those are some of the, some of the injuries, of course, I ain't going to run through them all. And then for the New York giants, their guy, their superstar Malik neighbors, this man suffered a concussion. He's going into concussion protocol. The giants are going to take on the Seahawks in their next game.

Obviously not this Sunday because they played last night. Last night was 24 hours ago. I want to go much further back than that. It's the end of the show, which means it's time to go way back in time to a few things that took place this day in sports history. Back in the days when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history. You see, back in those days we had radio and you couldn't see anything. You know, it was primitive and lousy and we liked it.

On the JR Sport Brief Show. I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass. Yeah, let's go back in time. Today is September 27th.

The year is 2024. Let's go back to September 27th, 1998, because Mark Maguire, well, he was playing for the Cardinals. He was doing a little home run thing with Sammy Sosa with the drugs and he hit two home runs to get to 70, 69 and 70.

Listen to this, courtesy of Fox Sports. First and third, two out. Oh, number seven. Yeah, he didn't have any more home runs after that.

I guess the drugs were off. Hey, Sammy Sosa, remember Sammy that year, he hit 66. Mark Maguire, 70 home runs. Let's go to September 27th. The year is 2009. The Lions. They beat the Redskins at that time to end a 19 game losing streak. The second longest losing streak in NFL history. The Lions won 19 to 14.

Yay. Again, December the 23rd, 2007 was the last time the Lions won a game. Eight seconds remain. Pitch it, pitch it again, and this game is over. You got to sell a 19 game losing streak, damn. Matthew Stafford, he threw a touchdown to Bryant Johnston. Also Maurice Morris rushed for a touchdown.

If you care about that whole season, the Lions went two and 14. Ouch. Speaking of ouch, Chicago White Sox, they know all about ouch. 855-212-4227. Mike is calling from Chicago. What's up, Mike?

Hey, Jayar. Thanks for having me on. Great show. Sure. What's up?

Transparent. I'm a Cubs fan and nothing better than what happened today on September 27th, 2024. The White Sox are the worst team in baseball history. Well, thank you. In five years, you'll be able to do what you just did on your, you know, catch up on sports history.

You'll be able to do that for the rest of your time, brother. Well, thank you, Mike, for calling from Chicago. Mike is like, listen, the White Sox are going to be so bad, you're going to remember this day in history. Christian, let's call it from Green Bay. You're on the Jayar Sportbree Show. Hey, Jayar.

It's a pleasure being on the show. My thoughts are about the injury report issues I've been seeing the first four weeks. Jordan Love, A.J.

Brown. It's all sportsmanship or games, excuse me, gamesmanship is what they call it. When they're questionable, but come game time, they're out. I was wondering what your thoughts on that. You know, it always is the case. Sometimes you got to use a little bit of common sense. And a lot of these things exist and they've existed prior to this, just to pretty much pacify the people's.

How can I say this? They're pacifying gamblers. They're trying to make sure that people are out here gambling on the games, that they feel confident.

That's why it exists. I feel, I feel good that Jordan Love is going to play. I know they list him as questionable with the knee right now. I think he is going to be out there.

We'll see. The injury reports are always tricky heading into the games. But the NFL, the reason why they're so tight, at least in some type of way as to how you put these guys down. And they want to have confidence that you'll gamble on it.

That's just what it boils down to. Hey, I did mention and I do want you to hear from Magic Johnson as we get closer to NBA Media Day, which will be on Monday and Tuesday for a lot of the teams. I believe we're going to hear more and more about the Lakers. And J.J. Reddick has already started to talk about what they do with Bronny James and how you put him and LeBron on the court for the historic moment is like she's we're doing this already. I thought Bronny was like a G League caliber player. Well, Magic Johnson was on Jimmy Kimmel and Magic had his own thoughts.

Listen to this. If I'm Bronny, I would tell my dad, just let me play in the G League all season so I so that I can develop. He needs playing time. He doesn't need to be sitting on the Laker bench and not playing. That's not a knock against him. He's just not ready. He needs to develop more and then he will be ready because he has some great talent and skills. But he needs to develop those skills at a much better clip as if he wants to play 15, 20 minutes a night in the NBA or more.

So you think LeBron is making him play in the NBA? I wouldn't say that. Oh, because I don't know. I don't know that. Uh huh. Right.

But if I'm his father, like LeBron is, he needs to develop. It's just that simple. OK. Magic then tunnel. Hickey, I like the way he didn't tell any lies. I like the way he framed that. If I were Bronny, I would tell him, send me down to the G League instead of saying I think he needs to go down to the G League. See, that's magic should go teach the WNBA players how to respond to things. He's the master of saying nothing and the obvious.

Yeah. If you read his Twitter account, he does that all the time. The team with the most points wins the game. Like, yes, Magic, we we know how much you think the person who writes that stuff, how much they get paid, like 100. Too much. Honestly, too much. All I do is tweet the box score. Yeah, write my tweets.

I'll pay you 100 a year. LeBron James scored 30 points at age 44 and 119 days. Thanks. Thanks, Magic. Yeah, I like Magic speaks his mind. I remember we had him here on the show and I asked him about Steph Curry and someone said not me.

I didn't say it. They're like, hey, Steph Curry, a better point guard. And Magic was kind of was like he was like, hey, look at the resume. OK, Magic, I like this. This is cool.

Magic never afraid to speak his mind. It's been cool speaking my mind with you this week. Hickey and I will be back with you on Monday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific to take a look at everything that's going on for the entire week.

And of course some big football games. And Hickey, you will be here when? Over the weekend, right? Sunday night, 10 p.m. Eastern, 7 p.m. Pacific, right here on the Infinity Sports Network. Amazing, amazing, amazing. You've been listening to the J.R. Sportbrie show here on the Infinity Sports Network Coast to Coast. The show is done. You want to find me online? I'm everywhere at J.R. Sportbrie. Hickey, where are you? Ryan underscore Hickey in the number three. Yeah, this show might be done, but don't go anywhere. Don't leave. You can hit rewind on the Free Odyssey app if you missed anything. But anyway, Bart Winkler coming up next.
