The NFL season is underway, with the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Baltimore Ravens in a highly competitive game. Lamar Jackson's performance was scrutinized, with some questioning his ability to lead the Ravens to victory. Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears are looking to Caleb Williams to lead their team to the playoffs, but Bill Belichick is skeptical of the young quarterback's abilities.

I am at JR Sport Brief everywhere on social media. And if you want to call up, it's simple. Here's the number 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. That was, that was actually, that's perfect. Hey, Nico, you, you a DJ on the side? Is the DJ on the side?

Is that what it is? No, sir. Well, that was actually a pretty perfect. Well, how are you on this Friday ahead of the NFL season that has already started Nico? You good? Good, good. I'm excited for the big game tonight as a giant fan.

I'll be rooting for the Packers. I won't lie to you. Are you going to give us some Saquon Barkley slander? You, you have something you want to get off your chest? I'll save it for a little bit later on in the show.

Okay. Yeah, we're, we're definitely going to talk about the, the Packers and the Eagles down in Brazil. I mean, for all the talk that, that some of the players had, it looks like they're enjoying themselves, even though we've only seen them on the field and press conferences. I heard they did a community event.

I ain't seen nothing from there. And also, by the way, for, for anyone who's not in the know, Twitter is banned in Brazil. And so we got sports writers in Brazil that are literally like sending their wives, emails, I guess, and text messages to tweet on their behalf. Or maybe they, I don't know.

This is, this is the world we live in. Why is Brazil banning X? Misinformation. That's what Brazil says. You go ahead and look it up on your own. And so yeah, I'm happy we got a football game tonight taking place in Brazil.

First time in South America, the fourth most populated city, fourth most populated metropolitan area on earth. Okay. And NFL is trying to make that money. We're going to get into that game. I got to get last night's game the hell up on out the way first, right?

Because that's, that's the wild part. It was a good game last night between the Kansas city chiefs, the season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. I was able to sit here and, and watch the beginning of the game while I was on the air.

Not an easy thing to do. I did see the end of the game, which was the part that everybody is talking about. By the time I got back home, the chiefs end up winning 27 to 20. Patrick Mahomes had that funny interception earlier in the game, but ultimately threw another touchdown to Xavier Worthy, who had himself a damn good start finishing the day with a rushing touchdown, a catching or receiving touchdown, I should say. And then Lamar Jackson had himself a good game. Nobody's going to remember that though. 273 yards passing, one touchdown, a big one to Isaiah likely to help lead the comeback.

122 yards on the ground. But what most people remember is what took place at the end of the game. What most people remember took place is that, uh, dare I say the touchdown that didn't count for Isaiah likely because his foot was on the line. But what people will remember the most is that in order to win the game, an opportunity to win the game, Lamar Jackson missed it twice. And so of course there are a lot of people who had a gigantic field day knowing that Lamar Jackson failed because there's nothing better for people just to say, Hey, Lamar Jackson sucks as somebody on Twitter say yesterday, and you can tweet me or X me or don't X me. You could do whatever you want. Not really.

I'm at Jr sport brief. Somebody messaged me publicly and they said, Lamar Jackson's not a not a good quarterback. And I said, so what is he then? Is he a bad quarterback?

Am I missing something? And he's like, Oh no, he's not a bad quarterback. He just, he's not winning. So what is he don't, don't call him bad then that's let's be real. There's no excusing the two misses yesterday and the Ravens will be okay. The Kansas city chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, they're just the boogeyman for Lamar Jackson who now has a one in five record against these Kansas city chiefs. And it just, it irks me that people don't at minimum acknowledge how much better as a passer he has been just going back to last year when he won an MVP and MVP is a pretty bad quarterback. That's last time I checked.

Okay. The man had a career high in passing yards, a completion percentage of 67%. He completed eight yards per attempt.

Those numbers are all up from when he started his career in 2018. But then you still have people who run around and will tell you that he is a running back playing quarterback. You still have people who will tell you that the man Lamar Jackson is not quarterback enough that it's, it's nuts. He's a good quarterback. He is just a quote unquote nuclear weapon on a football field.

He can do it all. He's a one man team. And last night the failure wasn't just as the offensive line. It sucks.

I don't care about their excuses and the referees and false starts and what have you and, and misalignments. The offensive line stunk. Lamar Jackson stunk at the end of the game. And I don't care if you didn't have an intended pass to, you know, uh, uh, Zay Flowers.

It doesn't matter. He was right there. You could have thrown him the ball. You missed it. Doesn't matter who the intended receiver was.

And then you can also look at Todd Monk and the offensive coordinator. And so there's, there's plenty of blame to go around. And then last night the press conferences afterwards, it was just like, okay, spare, spare us some of the excuses.

Okay. How about this one? Lamar Jackson pretty much explaining that missed throw. Well, it wasn't meant for him and it was meant for him. And then I missed it at the end. Well, I'm glad you know that.

Listen to this. I wasn't intended for, uh, uh, Zay Flowers. So yeah, I was, I was, I was teed off about that.

Cause I'm like, if I held on to a little bit more, I would've just fired up the Zay. So you didn't see it until the very end. Yeah.

Like when I threw the ball, I seen him. I'm like, like, I want to say something else. I'm like, damn. Yeah. Come on, man. I wanted to say something.

Oh no, man. You just, you just missed it. I mean, he stood up there and said it, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. He, he missed an opportunity to score.

And then we saw that opportunity to win the game. Isaiah likely coming down with the ball. That man is six foot four.

That dude is a truck. I forgot what offensive lineman he trucked. He shoved one of those guys down on a run. Isaiah likely had himself a big game, 111 yards receiving to go along with the touchdown to aid in the comeback.

But the big one did not count. And Isaiah likely, well, he told everybody that this game last night, worst game of the season. What would you take away from a competitive game like that against this team? I say this is probably the worst game we going to play all year.

So this is the best that they got. I mean, good luck in the post season. Okay.

All right. That doesn't matter. Oh, what he said doesn't, doesn't matter what the Ravens do throughout the course of the year.

That doesn't matter. You know, I, I expect them to go out there when I say they're onto the field on Sundays and Mondays and Thursdays and whatever the hell else other days they play because the NFL is trying to monopolize your calendar. When the Ravens step out onto the field in the regular season, they're going to win some games. They're going to win a lot of games. Unless there's an injury to Lamar Jackson, they're going to go to the post season.

The only thing that matters is what the hell do y'all do when you get there? That's it. There's only one Kansas city chiefs. If you think about the Ravens, they already have to compete in what is a difficult division. AFC North is always a punch in the mouth waiting to happen. Whether it's the Bengals, hopefully Joe burrow is healthy.

Whether it's the Cleveland Browns, Deshaun Watson is, is looking to make a little bit of a comeback or whether it's the Pittsburgh Steelers who are trying to figure out their quarterback situation. We'll, we'll talk about that too. But the Baltimore Ravens have been here so many times winning teams, winning seasons, 13 wins and 14 wins.

Damn it. They could go 15 and one. I don't care. What are you doing in the post season? Lucky enough for these Baltimore Ravens, the next opponent, the Raiders, they get to embarrass them at home because God knows looking at Gardner Minshew out there and maybe Aidan O'Connell, if he has to go out there and relieve him, that ain't, that ain't scaring anybody. If the Ravens start the season Owen too, then yeah, go ahead and start to slander them.

But last night, not a shock, not a surprise, but Lamar Jackson, man, you got a season to figure it out. You took the L yesterday. If you got to look back or look forward and see the, the Kansas city chiefs in the post season, beat them.

That's it. You only got to win once. You done lost five times already.

You won once and lost five times, including last year in the AFC championship game. And then also for Todd Munkin, do everybody a favor. Learn how to utilize Derrick Henry. Understand this is one game. You know, I don't know if you want to treat him as a goal line back. And I know the offensive line look kind of crappy yesterday, but I thought that they would be a little bit more balanced. And of course you want to run the hot hand, which is Lamar Jackson, but he don't need to run like that all the time.

That man was getting smashed. Let Derrick Henry take some of that punishment. You know, Mark Andrews is still out there too. By the way, the wide receiver group stinks. This is a power football team, defense run rush, but they've still yet to prove that when they need to pass the ball, they can be successful, not successful, but they can be champions.

And that's the hurdle that they need to get over. And that does not mean that Lamar Jackson, let me, let me say that again for the people in the front, the middle, the back in standing in the aisles, which is a fire hazard, saying this for everybody. That does not mean Lamar Jackson is a bad quarterback. And if you say the man is a bad quarterback or not a quarterback, that is just a bad, I can't even call it a take. That's just bad.

It's a bad misinformed opinion. I don't think you roll out of bed and become MVP, not once, but twice because you're bad. Let's see what happens. Man is still pretty young in his career here.

27 years old. Sign me up. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. I'm going to talk more about this next hour with Cordell Woodland from 105.7, the fan out of Baltimore. Lamar Jackson's kind of put a bow on, on this thing with him is what he had to say about last night's final play of the game would have allowed them to go for a two point conversion and win the game. But the touchdown was overturned because Isaiah likely's big old foot was on the white line. I assume Lamar Jackson at that time last night did not see the footage because that damn footage I think pretty much told everybody it was not a touchdown. The line for the field is white. Isaiah likely's cleats were black. I don't know. Maybe in the future he will switch to white cleats.

That's actually a good idea. And that's something that Patrick Mahomes said. He said he should go out there and switch things up. Take a listen to what Patrick Mahomes had to say. I mean, could it look good from my angle on the sideline? Um, but then that first view you saw, you could see the, the cleat. Um, so, uh, that's a great football team and I'm sure we'll see him again at some point in the playoffs.

So now we're, we're happy with the wind now and she's got to wear white cleats next time. That's my, that's my advice for him. Kermit the frog is a smart guy. Now let's hear another smart guy. His head coach, Andy Reed. How did you feel about that opening game of the season? It was a two heavyweights in a fight right down to the end.

And when they say it's a game of ventures, it might be shorter than that. Andy Reed knows the thing or two about a heavyweight. He does. He's one of the best coaches of all time. Heavyweight coach.

Yes, he is. It's the JR sport re show here with you on the infinity sports network. If you want to holler at me, it's real simple. The phone number is eight five five two one two 42 27.

That's eight five five two one two 42 27. Find me online at JR sport brief. The NFL season is officially underway.

I can't believe I said it, but it is. We got started last night with the chiefs and the Ravens and tonight we got the green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles. So we're going to talk about them next hour. I told you we're going to be joined by Cordell Woodland from one of five seven the fan in Baltimore to talk about the reaction to Lamar Jackson. We're going to get into Jamal Adams and DeAndre Hopkins.

Guys who are hurt. Jamar Chase isn't hurt, but is he going to play without a new contract? Jalen Ramsey got himself a new deal. Highest paid cornerback in the league again. Angel Reese is getting to the money.

She has herself a new podcast. We have a lot to get into. A matter of fact, when we come back on the other side of the break, I told you how tough it is in the AFC North. We're going to talk about another quarterback in the AFC North AFC North. He may not even play this Sunday when his team comes here to Atlanta to play in the NFC South. What the hell is going on with Russell Wilson? What's going on with his leg?

And for all that offseason talk about he has pole position to be the Pittsburgh Steelers starter. Is Justin Fields going to get the call at home instead? We're going to get into it on the other side of the break.

I'm going to give you an update. A matter of fact, we'll hear the words from Russell Wilson on the other side. Happy Friday. Happy almost weekend. Happy. Thank you so much NFL being back.

You're locked in. It's the JR Sport Brief Show right here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Phone lines are open 855-212-4227.

It's 855-212-4227. I told you last night about that game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Ravens. It's now time to move on. Save the Lamar Jackson slander for another day. He whips up on everybody. He just hasn't been able to beat the Chiefs.

A record of one in five. Everybody can't sit at the top of the mountain and the guy at the top of the mountain is Patrick Mahomes. Luckily for the Ravens, their next opponent, can take on the Raiders.

They can slap them around. It'd be fun to see, right? Well, yeah, unless you're a Raiders fan. I'll be looking forward to the game. And then I started talking about how difficult it still is for the Ravens because we know it's always a fistfight in the AFC North between the Ravens, the Browns, the Steelers.

They beat the living hell out of each other. We can expect that. And one thing that I'm looking forward to, speaking of the Steelers, on Sunday here in Atlanta, Georgia, the New Look Falcons will open up their season by hosting the Steelers. Kirk Cousins is in the building. Simmons is now in the building. Falcons actually got a pass rush now where they hope they do.

Bring it in Judon. And the expectation was that they would give the fans a W, Kirk Cousins' first game against the Steelers. Well, apparently Russell Wilson is now questionable. Like, we don't know if he's going to play. And according to the reporters up in Pittsburgh, Justin Fields, the other quarterback brought in by the Pittsburgh Steelers to hopefully be their quarterback of the future, I guess, help them win something. Justin Fields was getting the starter reps. Let's take a listen to Russell Wilson.

He spoke to the media this afternoon a couple of hours ago, and he gave us a status update on his calf and whether or not he was going to play in this game. Take a listen. The biggest thing is that you hate these nagging things. I've been feeling great honestly the past few weeks.

Just kind of felt a little funny yesterday. I think the most important thing is getting prepared to win. I think that's our focus right now, doing whatever we can, obviously myself included, and obviously getting ready to rock and roll. And I'll be ready to go. If I can go, I'm going to go and try to do everything I can to help us win.

And that's how I think about it. If not, I'm going to do everything I can to help us win that way, too. So I'm going to do everything I can, as you guys know, to be ready to rock.

Oh, here we go. If I can play, I'm going to play. If I can't play, I'm going to be the best cheerleader possible. OK, Russell Wilson, I'm sure you will be. He's never found an opportunity not to tell everybody how good and great and awesome he is. Spare us.

Now would be one hell of a story if Justin Fields got to start. He told us a week ago, two weeks ago, when it was pretty much known that he wouldn't. That he knew what he was. He knew who he was.

Well, I saw good and fine. But coming back home to Atlanta, Georgia, he's from out in Kennesaw, just suburb of Atlanta, part of the Atlanta metro. It'd be one big story if he was able to come home and start in front of his friends and family. This is Justin Fields. If Russell Wilson isn't ready to go, this is going to be his best chance to make an impact in Game one, because if Justin Fields starts this game and if Justin Fields lights it up for the Steelers and if they steal a victory opening day here in Atlanta, Georgia against the Falcons, that's what makes it difficult and tough just to throw Russell Wilson right back out there in Game number two. We know Russell Wilson is the guy and we know why. Mike Tomlin knows it.

He said it. We all know it's because of Russell Wilson's longevity. It's because of his experience. It's the Super Bowl victory. It's the respect.

That's what it is. Justin Fields doesn't have any of that. He might have the athletic talent. He might have the ability. He has the ability to improve.

But if he starts winning games, if he wins this game out the gate, you got to keep rolling with him. Russell Wilson has to stand around on the sidelines, but Justin Fields has to make that case. We're going to see him play. We're probably going to see a heavier dose of Justin Fields, given that Russell Wilson is coming off of that calf.

So even if Russell does play, which does not seem likely right now. Justin Fields is going to have a chance to make things interesting coming out of Game one of the season already. 855-212-4227. That's 855-212-4227. Manny is calling from New York. You're on the JR Sport Reef show. What's up, Manny? Oh, good, bro. How you doing? How you doing, my man? I'm very good.

What's on your mind? Good. Look, I hate to say it, but nobody really cares about the Falcons because nobody cares about that field because they blew up at that Super Bowl I. If Justin Fields played, that would be great because I'd like to see him because I'm a Steelers fan and a Giants fan. It's unfortunate that one of those teams were going to make the playoffs in hindsight. But anyway, I want to tell you about that last night's game. I really thought that was a touchdown.

It looked like it was a touchdown, but it wasn't. I just really thought, listen, I'm pulling for Lamar Jackson because, God, I pray that he's not going to be the next Peyton Manning. I mean, me and him will get more MVPs and lack of Super Bowl runs because of that guy, Papa Holmes. And I got to be honest with you, because I don't like to compare football to the NBA. This Chiefs and Ravens, Rob, reminds me of the Rockets and Warriors back in the late 2010s. Oh, wow. You're saying the Rockets are good enough to sit at the top, but not good enough to knock off the Warriors, that you're saying?

Hell yeah. We got a James Harden here. You have put, oh my goodness, you've put Lamar Jackson in the James Harden space? I just pray, I pray that's not the case.

It seems like it's the way they lost to the Chiefs all the time. Okay. Well, we're going to have to wait and see. Hey Manny, thank you so much for calling up from New York. Appreciate it, man. And keep up the good work. Hope we see you more sooner on WFAN.

I miss you in New York. Well, thank you, Manny. I appreciate you.

I had a summer off. Thank you. Yes. No doubt about it.

855-212-4227. Now that's, now let's be real. That's some company that nobody wants to be in. Nobody wants to be the James Harden of the NFL. That means you're good enough to win, good enough to be an MVP, good enough to put up the stats, good enough to put up the numbers, good enough to throw some money around at a strip club, but not good enough to, to get to the big one. And when James Harden did go to the big one, he was a part of a young up and coming team full of future hall of famers and MVPs. James Harden, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook on the Oklahoma City Thunder. But we know James Harden never, he never took them, got them over the hump. He started choking in the post season.

Some people are good enough to get there when it matters. And for Lamar Jackson, unfortunately, I would hope for his sake that what Manny just said doesn't take place, does not occur, doesn't go through. I think Lamar Jackson has a better chance of winning a Super Bowl than James Harden had never had a winning a title. And yeah, I said had because who cares what James Harden is doing? He's cooked. Got a place for the Clippers. He's basically in obscurity right now with Kawhi Leonard.

And now that his other partner from last year, Paul George is in Philadelphia, Clippers are really cooked. Open up that new arena with who's gonna be in there? I don't know. Not me. I'm not going. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. You know what? We're gonna take a break.

When we come back on the other side, I want to talk to you about someone. He's not cooked. A matter of fact, he's just getting started. And as a head coach who is not all that enamored with what he has seen so far. I'm talking about Bill Belichick. I'm gonna tell you about which rookie does not get him going on the other side of the break. It's the JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network. 855-212-4227.

That's 855-212-4227. We've talked about the Ravens and the Chiefs. We've talked about another team that plays in the same division as the Ravens. We got into the Pittsburgh Steelers. Russell Wilson still running around with a tight calf. Probable, or excuse me, now questionable to play on Sunday against the Falcons to open up their respective seasons. And I told you, we all know the reason Russell Wilson was just kind of pegged and ahead of Justin Fields. It's the seniority, the longevity, the accomplishments. Look, Russell Wilson was, I say was, because I don't think he's still there.

Got to do a little bit more. He was on a Hall of Fame trajectory. Was. And so Justin Fields is going to have to see how and where he can pick up some of the slack and maybe steal the job away from an aging Russell Wilson. Russell Wilson is going to be 36 in November. And we know there was a lot that was expected of Justin Fields when they had that trade and he was selected at number 10 overall and by the Bears. And now he's been traded. OK, someone who just went number one overall in the draft, he had huge expectations. He still has huge expectations for the Chicago Bears.

And his name is Caleb Williams. We all know about everything that took place at USC. They put up big numbers.

They didn't win anything. He won a Heisman, the number one overall. And Caleb Williams is expected to be the savior for the Chicago Bears.

And somebody called here yesterday and we talked about the Bears and the caller asked me, hey, J.R., what do you expect? And I said, well, I think with all the weapons surrounding him, the D.J. Moore's, the Keenan Allens, the Roman Dunsays, he had a big pass down the sideline to Roma Dunsays in a preseason. DeAndre Swift can certainly run and become an option to become a receiver off the line of scrimmage. The Chicago Bears, the offense, unless Caleb Williams is running for his life and he does like to do a lot of that, whether or not the line helps him or not, the Bears should be OK offensively. Bears have been looking for a guy to throw more than 30 and 40 touchdowns, looking for a guy to go over 3000, 4000 yards passing.

And they probably have him in Caleb Williams because he's a natural passer. You see his fluidity when he's running around out there on the field. Is he a little too gung ho? Does he need to relax? Does he need to chill out at times?

Does he need to settle in? I think the answer is yes, but I think that's a part of his transition into the NFL. And so I told the caller I feel good about Caleb Williams. I also think it's it's indicative of who he is, that his teammates who haven't even played a regular season game with the man. Look at Caleb Williams and they named him one of the team's captains. Like that's how the Chicago Bears feel about Caleb Williams. The fans can feel that way.

I can feel good based on what I saw at USC and a couple of big plays in preseason. Someone who does not share that sentiment. I don't know if he missed his coffee when they filmed this.

I don't know what the deal is. The man with 20 jobs. Bill Belichick was on one of his jobs inside the NFL. And Bill Belichick basically said, Caleb Williams, man, whoever they played against in preseason, it wasn't the best players on the other team. So what you're saying is, coach, we can't plan a parade because Caleb was so accurate in the preseason.

It wasn't accurate. He's 10 for 20. It's like you didn't watch the 20 throw. Come on.

There's a reason he's excited. It's 20 throws. He buzzed through them. You got to think how good the 10 were that were completed. Yeah. They weren't that good. There was a couple highlight plays. They weren't that good. Damn.

Damn. I mean, in this offseason, outside of not getting an NFL coaching job, Bill Belichick has seemed rather happy. Like Bill Belichick seems like like a nice guy.

I don't know if that's true. I've never met the man. No, I've never spoken to him. But he's come across as a little bit more jovial as a public public figure versus what we saw all those years when he wanted to basically tell the media to stick it. Bill Belichick earlier this week, he joined Instagram. We got the warmer kindler Bill Belichick.

Wait until Bill Belichick is on TikTok doing dances with his girlfriend. Nico can't wait for that one. Right. You looking forward to that? Oh, yeah.

It's going to be just I'm speechless. Just thinking about it. Oh, Bill, Bill Belichick doing TikTok dances. Yeah. I mean, the Instagram thing was so cringe, wasn't it? So let me let me ask you this. I heard he has an Instagram. What's on it? Did he post something on there?

Is there a video? This is Bill Belichick. I'm on Instagram. Like, what is it? Yeah. He posts a video of himself.

And first of all, I think he called it instaface, which isn't even what it's called. So he already got off to a wrong start. Right. Right.

Nice. No, he. So he made a joke like 15 years ago.

I don't know, maybe 10, 15 years. He's like, I'm not on snap face and instaface. So he's being a funny guy. I give him credit for that. All right. Fair enough. I'll take the comment back then about that part, but it's still cringe overall.

OK. He's he called it instaface. And then what happened after that?

Nothing. Yeah, I think he's just like talking about how he's like excited to be on and talk to him. He even said, I think in the video that he was surprised that he was even doing this in the first place. So it seems like he was convinced by another party to do it.

Another party is his girlfriend. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.

Right. OK. Bill Belichick is now on instaface, as he calls it. He said just to make money. That's it.

I think I mentioned this yesterday. His girlfriend is probably like, yeah, let's let's make an Instagram for you. It's another way for you to make money. Bill Belichick says, I got a lot of money. And she's like, no, but you can you can make thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars of money if you just produce content. And he's just like, OK, fine, whatever. And she's just like, oh, I could take a piece of that. So more money for her.

Good for her. Welcome to instaface. Bill Belichick, I wonder how often he's going to post. There's no photo of his dog on there yet, is it? Not that I know, but I'll do I'll do a double look and then let you know. Yeah, I know he has that.

Is it a Siberian Husky? I think Bill Belichick has. Anyway, I know Bill Belichick is somewhere right now working on his eighth, eighth job, all to drop every job by the time next NFL season comes around, as if somebody offers him a television job.

But anyway, Caleb Williams, I think he'll be fine. He moves around like a modern day quarterback. And I know there's a lot of, dare I say, opinions on what a quarterback should or should not be. Rarely guys right now who just stand in the pocket and deliver the ball like a rifle every single time.

You got to be able to move. The defenders are fast. The quarterbacks are fast. I mean, we got offensive linemen who are out there faster than some linebackers like these guys are out there moving. And so I think Caleb Williams will be perfectly fine. I know that there are some folks who look at the Bears as a team that that make the playoffs.

I don't think so. I think it's tough enough. I know we just got into the AFC North and how difficult that is between the Browns and the Bengals and the Steelers and the Ravens. But then when you start looking at the NFC North, you start running out of space like we know just out the gate, you got the Lions, the Packers who are going to be in Brazil. You got them, the Vikings with Sam Darnold. Yes, Sam Darnold will scare the living the hell out of anybody. Man will throw the ball to the wrong team like he's you.

You think he's doing it on purpose sometimes. And so where the Bears fit in in the NFC North, I think it's going to be tough for them to get into the postseason. I think they'll have a good year.

I think they'll win seven or eight games, but I don't think seven or eight games is going to be good enough for the Chicago Bears to get into the postseason. What we saw last year in different ways with Jordan Love, now a full time starter. And then we saw what took place down in Houston with C.J.

Stroud. And he was a genuine rookie with a rookie head coach. I don't know if lightning is going to strike twice like that here this upcoming season. I see the Bears on the outside looking in of the playoff hunt. And that's mainly because the Bears are probably going to whoop that ass. The Packers, they could have a nice back and forth. The Packers have an edge when it comes to experience. They have the quarterback who's now making what, fifty five million dollars a year.

And the Vikings and Minnesota Vikings will just get a piece of whatever's left, whatever they can get their hands on. Good luck to Caleb Williams and the Bears. You know, outside of whatever he does on the football field. I'm waiting to see if he's going to have one of those patented media meltdowns. But as I said yesterday, I think it's just a matter of him growing as a young man, growing as a human, growing as a person, a media personality. That's what he is.

And a player. As I know, the minute that he does something wrong, he says something wrong, starts pouting. People are going to look at him and go, hey, we got the black Jake Cutler here. We got a miserable dude here at the quarterback position. And listen, they're going to start letting the words fly.

If you thought Ben Simmons was getting smashed around in Philadelphia, Caleb Williams, if he doesn't live up to the hype, if he's not the quarterback of the future, those fans in Chicago, they're going to let them know about it in a most, let's just say, unwarm way. And speaking of warm, it's actually the taste of Chicago is this weekend. They got all they got all the food in the world. It's amazing. Nico, have you been out to Chicago? I have.

It was like six years ago. Did you enjoy the food? You liked it.

To be honest, I don't really remember much about it other than I was not a fan of the deep dish pizza. Oh, here we go. What was wrong is to you. Go ahead.

What was wrong? Well, it's just, you know, if I wanted something like that, I could just go to any Italian restaurant and get lasagna. It's basically the same thing. So you're saying the pizza in Chicago is lasagna dumped in a pan in terms of the size and the what's the word I'm looking for? Like the the texture, I guess.

Yeah, I would say it's very similar. You had to eat it with a fork and a knife and a fork. No, I eat it with my hands, but not the same way I would eat New York pizza.

I think I didn't have a chance to fold it. Uh huh. Okay. Now, have you had Detroit style pizza?

I have not, but I will actually be in Detroit this weekend so I can give it a try. Go ahead. Go ahead. Uh, you know what?

I'm, I'm, this is not, this sounds weird as hell. I've been to Detroit plenty of, see, I don't, I'm not a fan. I'll eat pizza. You know, it's one of those things like everybody for the most part eats pizza, right?

And so I don't give a damn what city I'm in when I'm in your city or here or there. I ain't thinking about having no pizza. And so I've never been in Detroit and said, you know what I need to have a pizza?

Never. But here in Atlanta, we actually have a very good pizza. I don't remember the name. It's off the Atlanta belt line in the middle of the city and they have Detroit style pizza and the food is some of the best pizza I have ever had in my life. And so I'll try to find you a name or something similar.

Maybe they have an offshoot in Detroit and you can check it out. All right. Sounds good. I'm trying to give you a Nico, a little bit of a food advice. Good for him. Yeah.

Have some food on my behalf. It's the JR sport show here with you on the infinity sports network. Now what an hour that was.

Tom flies when you're having fun. We talked about Lamar Jackson, some things not so positive. We talked about the chiefs. What's negative about them, right?

Nothing. Now they got Xavier worthy. That's not fun for anybody who got into Russell Wilson, not positive.

The man is now questionable with a sore calf. Justin Fields might get the start and Bill Belichick, not all that positive about Caleb Williams. Bill Belichick needs to see more. This guy watched Tom Brady forever.

So I mean he got some high standards and we got more to do. We're going to take a break. When we come back on the other side, we got football in Brazil. We have the Packers, we have the Eagles. They get going in a little more than an hour and then we're going to have a chat with Cordell Woodland from one oh five seven. The fan in Baltimore. I'm going to get the real scoop on the Ravens and Lamar Jackson.

We got a lot to get into. Happy Friday. Happy September. Happy football weekend. It's the J. R. Sportbrief show the Infinity Sports Network.
