But good to be with you again. No doubt about it. Well, we certainly heard about what took place with Hassan Reddick. We also shared the statement from General Manager Joe Douglas that they will not be moving him. Was this a ploy to try to push or embarrass the Jets? There's no real validity in him asking for a trade, or is there? I mean, from his perspective, the Jets haven't, since they initially spoken when the trade was made, he thought that they were going to have some contract negotiations throughout. Obviously, that didn't happen, so he didn't show up for mandatory minicamp, did not show up for OTAs either, or any of the all-season programs, and got fined because of it, and also lost the $250,000 workout bonus in the process.

So July 23rd comes, no Hassan Reddick. The reason is, from what I understand, his camp is saying that the Jets didn't provide in good faith, they didn't continue to negotiate, and then that's kind of why this deal has been made from their perspective. But the Jets, from their perspective, they were saying that they will not negotiate with anybody that's going to hold out. So now you've kind of got a staring contest between these two sides, and it's going to be interesting to see who ends up winning.

Well, really, nobody wins in this situation, but what has happened in the process. Well, Anson, what do you think is the most likeliest of outcomes? Is he going to be suiting up for the Jets in about a month's time, or do you think he's going to be away, or maybe elsewhere?

What do you think is the most likeliest outcome? I think now at this point, yeah, it seems like a trade might be happening, although they're saying they're not going to trade them, but that's what a team usually says before they actually trade somebody, nine times out of ten. But yeah, I mean, the Jets have kind of paid themselves for this situation. They offered him a contracting distinction before the deal was, the trade was made. He declined it, so they made the trade for him anyway. And then once they traded John Franklin Myers to the Broncos, I think they gave some leverage to say, you know what, I think they have to pay me now. And he's kind of right, because now they're missing literally like 20 sets from their team a year ago. But you look at Bryce Huff, who ended up going to the Eagles from the Jets, and you know, Quentin Jefferson, who ended up signing a one-year deal with the Browns, and then John Franklin Myers as well. So they definitely need that production there. Otherwise, now you're going to be relying on Will McDonald, who they really like, but it's still really young, it's still really learning, and I'm not sure if he's an every-down player at the moment.

Antoine Staley is joining us from the New York Daily News. Knowing that the New York Jets traded a third-round pick that could be a second-round pick if he were to play for them, what could they possibly get in return from another team if Redick has traded? That's a good question.

I'm not sure. It's just going to depend on how much that other team would value Redick, and I'm sure they would probably have to work something out in terms of money or bonuses, maybe for the money that he lost as far as fines that he's accumulated not showing up for the Jets. But yeah, I mean, you're taking on the risk if you're another team because he's not showing up for anything as far as Jets-related, so you have to understand and get some kind of clarity on what his situation and his mind state is, but I don't imagine it'd be very much. You're definitely not getting what you gave back in return from the Eagles, so it's probably more or less like a day-three pick.

I would imagine maybe a conditional fifth- or sixth-round pick that could maybe turn into maybe a four, but yeah, you're definitely not getting what you got in return or what you played for to get them in the first place. Antoine, as someone else on the New York Jets, it's a little bit of a shock that he's not the center of attention. His name wasn't in the news a little bit for excerpts from his book. How have things been going with Aaron Rodgers? We don't expect to see him here in the preseason. We've seen him getting into it with Garrett Wilson and all this lovey-dovey, yeah, we're screaming and yelling because we love each other.

How have things been with his return so far? The players love him. They don't understand that he has the best chance to win. They also understand it's a lot that comes with Aaron. He's a perfectionist. He demands everybody work the hardest that they can. If things aren't done a certain way, he's going to let you know about it, whether it be Joe Tippman having high snaps in training camp. Aaron Rodgers feels like he can get on his rear end a little bit. Garrett Wilson, when you've got two passionate people like that, because Garrett is very passionate, he wants to win.

He has not been happy with the lack of success the Jets have had the last couple years. So, you know, him and Aaron are just trying to get on the same pace, too, as well. Of course, people are going to make a little bit of a big deal out of it when you see your star receiver having a passionate conversation with your quarterback, but all accounts through the players' level, they feel like physically he's ready to go, ready for week one.

They feel like that's the least of their words, at least at the moment with the Reddit situation, and he's been all full of gold so far in training camp. Well, you talk about Aaron Rodgers, and we mentioned Garrett Wilson as wide receiver one. They bring in Mike Williams, who hasn't had necessarily a history of being healthy, and then we could kind of sort of maybe possibly say the same thing about the offensive line.

What are some of the bigger concerns? Is it the line protecting Rodgers, or is it who he gets the ball to? You mean on the offensive side or just in general with the team? I think I'm probably more concerned about the offensive line because, you know, you look at the last two years, they've been riddled by injuries. I mean, 22, they had 11 different players start games on the offensive line.

Last year was even worse. They had 14 different offensive line combinations in 17 games, which led the league. So, yeah, that's why you go out and get an old-fashioned new from Penn State in addition to Tyron Smith, who, you know, let's face it, has not had a history of staying healthy himself, you know, has not played in a full season since 2015. So that's why I appreciate Joe Douglas as having the foresight to say, you know what, just in case something were to happen to Smith, then, you know, we're going to go out and get fashioned in from Penn State there. And they got Morgan Moses, who's also an older tackle, too, at 33 years old, Elijah very tough. They're also coming off two back-to-back season injuries. So, yeah, it's a lot, you know, that you have to be concerned with the offensive line because if they can't stay healthy, there's going to be a hard time protecting Aaron Rodgers, who's also, you know, older quarterback himself at 40, almost 41 years old. So, yeah, that's probably my main concern there. Yeah, I know, Antoine, you don't got no crystal ball, but we're going to see more Aaron Rodgers in, like, four plays, right? I think so.

I certainly hope so. I mean, it wouldn't be good for my business, you know, per se, if we didn't see a lot of Aaron Rodgers this year again. And it wouldn't be good for Robert Saleh, Joe Douglas, either, as far as job security, I can tell you that. Well, having said that, forget Hassan Riddick. He shows up, he doesn't show up.

Okay, whatever. What do you expect from the New York Jets this season? They go to the playoffs and then it's like, whatever happens, happens.

Are they going to fight to get in? What are your thoughts on the team's current construction and what they're capable of? Well, now, I mean, if you don't have Riddick, I think that really hurts their defensive line, especially considering, like, you lost your leading sack artist from a year ago.

So now there's more pressure on the guys they are there. And they already had some questions with their run defense last year to finish 25th. I think they're going to be a team that's going to contend for a playoff spot.

I still think Buffalo's the team to beat in division. I know, you know, they lost a lot of people and have some questions there. Miami also has questions, too. They changed because the coordinators, you know, Vic Fangio ended up going to Philadelphia. Now, also, you haven't, you know, Jalen Phillips and Bradley Chubb both coming off season in the injuries as well.

And obviously, too, it's always a big concern with his health, too, as well. So, yeah, there's a lot of questions with a lot of teams in the division. Of course, I didn't miss the Patriots because they're in rebuild mode. But I think, you know, me personally, I think they get between 8 to 10 wins. They get 10 full wildcard spots. Whether they get in or not is going to be, you know, it's going to determine, like, early on in the season because they got a brutal schedule late in the year. So they got to win as many games as they're supposed to early on in the year. Otherwise, I think it's going to be tough playing in the AFC, which, you know, I think they definitely have to make the playoffs this year or else there's going to be some major changes after the season.

Antoine Staley joining us from the New York Daily News. You talk about major changes in job security over Joe Douglas or Rob Salah. Could they really get wiped out at the end of the season if, I don't know, Woody Johnson doesn't consider this a success?

They'd be starting from ground zero, right? Even Aaron Rodgers would be going, no. Yeah, I mean, how many coaches last three years and have three consecutive losing seasons?

That really happens in the days in sports and more or less the NFL. So, yeah, four consecutive losing seasons, yeah. And Joe Douglas has been there since 2019.

So, yeah, it's time to put up a shut up at this point. Like, they have to make the playoffs, I believe, or else everybody might get going, including Aaron, because if they start over, they're probably going to win a new quarterback. And that means, you know, they're probably going to get rid of Aaron Rodgers, who only has one year left on his deal.

Antoine, we're short on time here to the break. Would that not just mean a complete fan mutiny? They've been sitting on this for years now, and the quarterback before the guy didn't work, and then the legend that you're bringing to the future Hall of Famer doesn't work. And now you're telling me you're just going to put a nuclear bomb on the whole thing?

The fans are going to mutiny. I don't know if you would do a complete blow up, but you've got your own foundation and sauce and Garrett and Jermaine and Breeze there. You just need a quarterback and, you know, chase some parts around it.

But, yeah, they definitely have to make the playoffs, or at least the coaching staff. And the foundation would change for the Jets with yours. That's wild stuff.
