Aha! So we switched to Tide Free and Gentle. Tide Clean's better than the leading competitive free detergent, and it doesn't leave behind irritating residues. Plus, Tide Free and Gentle has no dyes or perfumes, so it's gentle on her skin. Case closed.

If it's got to be clean, it's got to be Tide Free and Gentle. It is! The JR Sport Brief Show here on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Super producer and host, Ryan Hickey. He's coming to you live from New York City. I'm glad that you're here. I hope you have had a tremendous Tuesday. And if not, that sucks. It's awful.

It's bad. But I'll be here with you for the next two hours. This is a four-hour show.

It gets started every single weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern, 3 Pacific. Thank you to everybody tuned in all over North America. You could be in Saskatchewan. You could be in Kansas. You could be in Boise, Texas, Minnesota. You could be here in Georgia with me.

Shout out to some of my folks in Florida. All my people tuned in hoping at that stupid rain and Debbie leaves. Oh, my God. Hickey, this is a. Hickey, this is a little this is a little preview. Hickey, you could you could stop the music because this is this is kind of crazy. Hickey, later in the show, when we get to this day in sports history, next hour, speaking, you know, the hurricane tropical storm, you heard of a Debbie, right? You know, there was a softball pitcher. This lady's name was Debbie Doom. No, I have not I've not heard of that name. That's a hell of a name. It's a hell of a name.

If she's a pitcher, a pitcher doesn't matter. The perfect games everywhere. Wow. Debbie Doom. Yeah, you're in for a bad day. It's supposed to be a real Debbie Doom. That's crazy.

That's hilarious. Anyway, we'll talk about Debbie Doom next hour. I just I couldn't help myself. I heard I said Tropical Storm Debbie, Hurricane Debbie, and I go, Debbie Doom. Hickey, I saw that lady's name today and I said, excuse me, what am I allowed to say this on Debbie Doom?

Sounds like she should be doing a bunch of other things and not throw a softball. Props to her parents. Hey, our last name is Doom. Instead of naming her doctor first name, let's just call it Debbie. Is there is if your if your last name is Doom. Like what what what are appropriate names?

Is there an appropriate name? Like Jill Doom. I feel like that doesn't have the same oomph as like Debbie.

Debbie. Caitlin Doom. Caitlin Doom. Caitlin Doom sounds dangerous, brah.

Caitlin sounds supervillain. Sarah Doom. Supervillain. Taylor Doom. Blonde supervillain.

Yeah, OK. I'm just saying any last name, Doom. And this is because of Dr. Doom.

He's such a bad guy. I think I think his first Victor Von Doom, I think his name was or something like that. Dr. Doom.

That's bad ass. Like you, Ryan, Ryan Doom, right? It sounds OK. I mean, it sounds OK. Ryan Doom's OK. Sounds distinguished, right? Sure. Let's go with that.

Yeah. But I don't think it sounds as intimidating as Debbie Doom. Debbie Doom.

Now now pitching on the mound. Number what number? I wonder what number she won.

Ninety nine had the right. The apocalypse is coming for the number of problems you're about to have. But but but she ain't one or maybe she is. Who knows?

That's true. Debbie Doom. We'll talk about Debbie Doom and her accomplishments next hour.

I could tell you who could use Debbie Doom today. The Chicago White Sox. They're trying to avoid loss number 22. Last night, the Chicago White Sox picked up their 21st loss. They have not won a game since July 10th. That is almost a calendar month. They're two games away.

From the National League record. We'll get into that. And we talked about a lot in about 15 minutes.

We're going to be joined by a guest to get into more. We're going to talk some college football coming up. Adam Rittenberg of ESPN is going to join us. Looking forward to chatting it up with him about the coach's poll, what could or may happen with Michigan and the conference alignments and changes and some of these new quarterbacks who are expected to be elevated into new spots. I'm going to ask him how many more years of eligibility Quinn Ewers has. The guy's been throwing for like 20 years now. And so we got a lot of questions for Adam Rittenberg. He's going to join us in about 15 minutes.

Now, I gave you a preview of Debbie Doom. Earlier in the show, we talked about USA basketball beating Brazil. 22 to 87. They're going to take on Nicola Jokic and Serbia this upcoming Thursday with a chance and an opportunity to advance to the gold medal game. We have no update when it comes down to Brandon Iuke. There are trades on the table right now to send Brandon Iuke to the New England Patriots, the Browns. And dare I say, even the Steelers again, even though they were discounted from bringing them on and now apparently they're back in the race or Brandon Iuke may just stay. Hickey and I think ultimately he'll stick around. We'll we'll see.

We'll see what happens there. Talked about some of the quarterbacks in the AFC North as it stands for the Steelers right now to the shock of nobody. Russell Wilson is number one on the quarterback depth chart. And if we go out to Denver, Colorado, it's been shared and announced that Jared Stidham is number one on their quarterback depth chart. And Bo Nix is now listed at number three. I guess this is Sean Payton just trying to rattle the cage a little bit. A little bit of mind games just to let Bo Nix know, hey, don't don't read what's in the newspaper. You got to actually compete here on the field. And then we talked about the New York Giants and the Detroit Lions who just.

They keep fighting. Hickey, are we are we going to get a fight in the actual preseason game? You think we're getting one of those?

No, no. I think probably because the starters don't play or won't play, I should say. We're going to have guys who actually care about football trying to make a name for themselves.

Can't do that when you're throwing punches, getting injected out of the game. You know what? Be cool.

Love. We had a player's last name was Doom. There's no doom. There's never been a doom in the NFL. Never. Is that like, have you looked that up?

No, just what do I got to do? Go to like pro football reference, right? I guess you're right. Yeah. Type in Doom.

Yeah, that'd be the best spot. I'm going to do it right now. OK, you ready for this?

And so a person, team name or section? Do Doom. All caps. No, no. Now, who's this guy? Robert.

Brazil. OK. Yeah. Hall of Fame linebacker was was. Why does Doom come up? Oh, nickname, Dr. Doom. See? No, no. There was nobody with the real name Doom.

Nobody. That's a rarity. It's rare. You've had some real interesting names in the NFL.

Doom is not one. And speaking of interesting names, you know, right before we went to break, you alerted me of a. I don't even know what to call this. Is this a concession stand item in Arizona? Yes.

Available at two different sections. Oh, no. So what do they is this place still State Farm Stadium? Is it got a different name by now?

No, no. The sponsor is still the same. State Farm, right?

No, it's not State Farm. I'm sorry. Yes. Yes.

My apologies. I know those questions. Yes.

OK. All right. And so they are now feeding you what at the ballgame? You can get a cotton candy burrito.

Oh, no. Which on the outside, the shell is cotton candy. Inside are fruity pebbles, Froot Loops, marshmallows, Skittles, mini M&M's, gummy bears and sprinkles. And I think I'm reading this correct.

There's also in there as well, cotton candy flavored ice cream. Oh, my God. So, yeah.

Oh, my is a death wish for a diabetic. This is crack. I'm looking at the photo right now. This is crack. What is this?

That is a hell of an idea. This what does this do to your heart rate? Oh, God. I mean, this much sugar. I'm going to explore it.

It looks pretty big. Like that's not like one of those things where it's like, OK, you can, you know, have a few bites and maybe like who came up with this? Great question. Who thought that this was a good idea? And, you know, it'd be OK if somebody's kid begs for this at the football game. Who thought this was a good idea? Oh, my God. Repeat what's in this thing again.

Cotton candy flavored ice cream, fruity pebbles, Froot Loops, marshmallows, Skittles, mini M&M's, gummy bears and sprinkles all inside of a cotton candy shell. If you live in Arizona, if you're going to a Cardinals game, don't eat this. Why are they trying to kill?

Like, man, why are they trying to kill people? This is this is. Would you try that? Would you would you take a bite out of that? So I am a big, big, big sweets guy. Oh, no, I definitely would take a bite of it. I don't think I would maybe try two bites, but there's no shot.

I'm finishing half of it, let alone all of it. When you bite into this, what does it taste like? Like each one of these things have a distinct flavor until you get to the end and then all you taste is sugar. Yes, it's it. And your stomach is going to be hurting.

Fruity pebbles, Froot Loops, marshmallows, Skittles, M&M's, gummy bears, sprinkles and a cotton candy shell. How about that? OK. All right. Note taken.

If I go see the Cardinals, I haven't had a reason to go see them recently because they've sucked. I'm not getting this. Oh, how about this? I found some of the other culinary concepts that they will be serving at the club level. Vegan gluten free pizza, cauliflower, cauliflower crust.

OK, whatever. Vienna beef jalapeno cheddar dogadilla, dogadilla. So what is that, quesadilla and quesadilla? Juicy Vienna beef jalapeno cheddar sausage topped with cheddar cheese and scallions and a press tortilla or Vienna beef jalapeno cheddar. I feel like I'm singing a song. Vienna beef jalapeno cheddar sausage topped with beef. Berea, cheese, cilantro, onions, chili, diced on. Man, that sounds like a problem for the ass.

OK. It's like you got stomach problems in Section 227. You got ass problems in Section 222. They need the bathrooms that Steve Ballmer has. Cardinals hate their fans, huh? Like, why are you going to serve people stuff that's going to give you the bubble guts?

must be a big time sponsor. Oh, you know, man, I'm of an age now, enough where it's like I know what I'm going to eat and what I'm not going to eat. OK. And I know the effects it's going to have on my body. I'm not going to a football game to be sitting inside a dome away from a decent toilet for what, 30, 40 minutes?

An hour, maybe when I leave here and I'm going to sit down for three hours and eat this stuff. I'm going to sit down at a football game and have a Vienna beef jalapeno cheddar sausage topped with cheddar cheese scallions. OK. And onions and cilantro and chili.

No, no, no, no, no. You eat that. You eat. You take you take five bites out of that. You got to run to the bathroom. And who wants to run to the bathroom at a football game to do number two?

Nobody wants to do that. Damn. A chicken taquito.

OK, that sounds normal. Red chili Parmesan chicken tenders, chicken tenders coated in red chili Parmesan garlic sauce. Hickey, I need to find out the head chef.

I need to look him up. Meatball hoagie on a stick. Nutty Asian salad, flaming hot cheeto chicken tenders.

Craft culinary concepts. OK, I got to Google them. This place sounds like a. OK. I found out who the chief operating officer is.

I'm not going to say his name, but he says the efforts. The addition of the new restaurants are part of a greater effort to revitalize the stadium. OK, that's what they're doing. They revitalizing the stadium. So let's give them credit for that. And you go to Arizona and you try to candy burrito.

You let me know how it goes. OK, revitalize the stadium. Isn't that just a nice way of saying the Cardinals are going to suck this year? The food sucked in the past, too, I guess we got to find a way to get people to the stadium so we can't do it because of the team on the field.

So let's just make the craziest creations possible and hope a bunch of ticktockers come to the stadium to try it. That's I guess their target audience. You know what? You're right. You're right. People are going to take pictures and videos of themselves eating the the sugar stick.

I guess that is that it's not a stick. It's a burrito, right? Yeah.

A massive plate of sugar. Oh, my God. All right. Good luck to the Cardinals fans. You got Kyler Murray, you got Marvin Harrison and you got the cotton candy burrito. So good for you.

Looking forward to it. If you're a fan, don't don't eat it. Don't eat it. Doctor wouldn't advise it. Your dentist wouldn't advise it.

Although your dentist would love it because it'll keep your dentist in business. It's the JR Sport Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back.

People are watching the Olympics. People are looking at NFL training camp, but we're going to blink. College football is going to be here sooner than we know it. We still have news.

We have controversy. We have polls and we're going to blink and our Saturdays are going to be booked and other days throughout the week as well. Joining us to talk about the upcoming season that will be here before we know it is Adam Rittenberg of ESPN covers all things college football. Adam, thank you for taking the time to join us. Thanks for having me on.

I appreciate it. Without a shadow of a doubt. I guess the biggest story that is pretty much dominated this week and from the weekend is the fact that Michigan and the Wolverines, despite winning a championship, they could still be in a little bit of trouble. We know Jim Harbaugh is now with the Chargers or Sharone Moore is still there taking over. What could be some of the potential ramifications following this investigation? This is the first step in the infractions process regarding the sign-stealing scandal that was obviously involving former Michigan staff member Connor Stallions. A number of other people were named in the notice of allegations or the draft of the notice of allegations that Michigan will be receiving from the NCAA.

While most of those people are gone, including Jim Harbaugh, Sharone Moore is named on there, namely because he allegedly deleted several text messages to Connor Stallions or his history with Connor Stallions after things went public last October. Why this could be an issue for Moore is that he was already involved in another infractions case that resulted in game suspension last year and some other penalties. He could be seen as a repeat violator potentially by the NCAA. That could lead to a suspension or some type of penalty that could affect his ability to recruit and so forth. In terms of the team, I don't think this is going to be too severe. The NCAA has distanced itself from postseason bans or things that really impact the current players that occurred before they were there.

So I think this is more an issue of Sharone Moore and what's going to potentially happen to him versus some catastrophic penalty for the program. Adam Rittenberg is joining us from ESPN, covers all things college football. When we got the coach's poll that came out, we see Michigan was slotted at number eight, Notre Dame. You have Ole Miss that is there at number six, Georgia one, Ohio State two, Oregon at three. When you take a look at these polls, and they're just polls, what do you think is more likely to change?

Who has the potential early to go up and then go down? Well, it's a really interesting poll kind of after the first couple of names. I mean, you expect Georgia, you expect Ohio State. I know there's some debate about Oregon, whether they deserve to be number three in the coach's poll.

We'll see what they are in the AP. I mean, it's a team that hasn't made the college football playoff since 2014. They have a nice record under Dan Lanning, their third-year coach, but they've lost a lot of their bigger games, namely against their rival, Washington, their 0-3 against Washington.

So do they deserve to be at number three? You mentioned Ole Miss. Again, a team that had a lot of momentum after last year.

They had a big off-season as far as transfers, keeping some of their top players. But are they a team that can truly make the college football playoff, even though there's more opportunities on the table? I think there's some really interesting teams out of the Big 12, and we know the Big 12 champion is going to be in the college football playoff this year. Utah, Kansas State is interesting to me, Arizona, maybe Kansas.

So that's a really wide open league that should be a lot of fun to watch. But I think some of the nontraditional names necessarily in the SEC, we're talking about Ole Miss and Missouri. Hey, with the 12-team playoff, they actually have a chance to make it where realistically it would have been a lot harder for them in the 14 system. Well, Adam, when you talk about Ole Miss being this high up, has everybody now fallen in love with Jackson Dart and what he can do? Because I look at Ole Miss and I'm like, hey guys, let me know when you actually beat somebody at the top of the SEC. Yeah, that's a fair criticism of Lane Kiffin.

I do think he was able to distance himself a little bit from that last year with some of the wins that they did have. They obviously beat Penn State in the Peach Bowl to end a pretty memorable season, but you've got to win the big games in that conference to really merit that type of playoff buzz. The interesting thing to me is you look at their schedule, and until you get down the stretch in really that Georgia game, coming to Oxford on November 9th, I know they have Oklahoma coming in, but Oklahoma is a transitioning team moving from the Big 12 to the SEC. They have to go to LSU. But the opening schedule, you're talking about Furman, Middle Tennessee, Wake Forest on the road, Georgia Southern, Kentucky, South Carolina. Ole Miss should be undefeated going to Tiger Stadium to take on LSU in the middle of the season. That's one of those bigger games that a lot of us will be circling in the SEC because Ole Miss certainly has the talent, especially along the line of scrimmage.

That's the one area. You mentioned Jackson-Darden. They've had good quarterbacks. They've had good receivers. But I think Ole Miss has been a little lacking at times against the best teams in the SEC on the offensive and defensive lines.

This year, they have the potential to be really good up front on both sides of the ball. Adam Rittenberg is here with us on the JR Sport Reshow covers all things college football for ESPN. You know, speaking of the SEC, we see some of the teams that have come in. Texas has a high ranking. Oklahoma is in the top 25 as well.

Matter of fact, right outside of 15 at number 16, everybody is looking at Texas naturally. How do you think Oklahoma is going to transition? It feels like they've been forgotten about just a little bit.

Well, they have. It's been a kind of uncharacteristic couple of years for the Sooners who were kind of used to making the playoffs for a while there towards the end of Bob Stoops' run and certainly the beginning of Lincoln Riley's tenure. Ben Venables, I think they were an improved team in some ways last fall, but we're still waiting for a real breakthrough from the Sooners, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Dylan Gabriel, who was their quarterback the last two years, goes ahead and transfers to Oregon and he'll lead the Ducks this fall.

You know, Jackson Arnold, who's a really exciting young player, is going to take over as a quarterback for Oklahoma, but it's obviously tough for him. You know, first year as a starter going into the SEC, and then you look at their schedule. This is the first half of the schedule, not overwhelming with Temple, Houston, Tulane, Tennessee. That's a home game, and then at Auburn. But then you look at that back half, obviously the Texas game, Red River game in Dallas, but then they have to go to Ole Miss.

They've got to go to Missouri. They've got Alabama at home, and then they're at LSU. Those are some really tough games for Coach Venables and the Sooners, and we're going to find out just how ready they are for the SEC right away. And to me, it really goes to the defense. I grew up, you probably grew up, with the elite defense coming out of Oklahoma. It's been a really, really long time since Oklahoma was playing the type of defense you need to win national championships. And that was the big reason why they brought back Brent Venables as their defensive coordinator.

He's got to start delivering results. Adam, you talk about defense and also change. I mean, we don't have to go outside of Boulder, Colorado.

One of the greatest defensive players of all time is leading a school, and that's Deion Sanders leading Colorado. There wasn't the nicest of articles that have come out recently about the environment in Boulder from last year. What do you think happens this year? What could potentially be the endgame as Chidor and Travis move on? What is this going to look like for Colorado?

Right. It's going to be fascinating because we saw how exciting it can be when they're winning, and they were winning early last year, and then it turned on them. And that Stanford game in particular, blowing the big lead, and they didn't win a game the rest of the season.

And there's going to be a spotlight there. They move into the Big 12. Chidor Sanders, Travis Hunter, two stars, but what do they have around them? How are they going to look at the line of scrimmage? How much have they improved along the offensive line in particular with the transfers that they picked up? Because that wasn't a good unit last year, and they struggled to run the ball. They struggled to protect Chidor Sanders. And what can Chidor Sanders do to help himself and that offense?

Can he get rid of the ball a little bit quicker at times? It took so many sacks last year. It's very, very hard to get through a season when you're getting hit that much. And then they move into the Big 12. Again, a league that doesn't have Texas and Oklahoma in it anymore, but a lot of really good teams, a lot of evenly matched teams at the top of that conference. And I think how Colorado starts the season will be important, but it's going to be more important in some ways if they can continue that early success potentially because they weren't able to do that last year.

And again, after that initial bump, we were all so excited about Colorado. There hasn't been a lot of positive news coming out of there, whether it's some of the stories that you referenced or just the team's performance. We'll see if Deion can get it done in year two. There'll certainly be a lot of attention on it. Adam, do you think he'll be sticking around for year three?

You know, I think it could go either way. I think he's a guy that's obviously always coached his kids, and he doesn't have any more that are coming up through the program. With Chidor most likely moving on to the NFL, Shiloh, his other son is a senior defensive back safety who starts for them. So how much does he want to be there?

Are there other opportunities? I think part of it depends on the performance. And if he has a really good year and Chidor and Travis go in the top five like Deion Sanders has predicted of the draft, how appealing will he be for another job in college or elsewhere? I think that's probably part of it is what's the market like for Deion Sanders? Where else could he go? And how much would he want to move on to maybe a more familiar area of the country? He's obviously spent most of his life in the southeast, from Florida, lived in Texas, barely spent any time anywhere else in the country until he took the Colorado job.

So it'll be something that could certainly go either way. I don't anticipate him being in Colorado for much past this year, but he could certainly stay there a third year. Adam Rittenberg joining us on the JR Sport Reshow courtesy of ESPN. When you think about some of the premium talent, everybody is going to look at Colorado and people interested to see what Chidor does. Jayden Daniels is now gone. Now he's in Washington. Pennix is here in Atlanta. Bo Nix is in Denver. Marvin Harrison has moved on as well to Phoenix. Who are going to be some of the biggest players that we should look out for when it comes down to the Heisman this year?

Any surprises? A lot of these guys kind of came out of nowhere. Well, I think because of the number of quarterbacks that were selected, especially high in the draft, you have to start at that position.

But it's largely a reset, even though there are some familiar names. We talked about Jackson Dart of Ole Miss, perhaps Dylan Gabriel, now at Oregon, a national championship contending team going into the year. He's a guy that'll finish in the top 10 for NCAA career passing. Always has put up big numbers, and so he's someone to watch. But certainly Carson Beck at Georgia, I think the conversation either starts with him or he's in that mix of top contenders as the returning starter. For a team that a lot of people think had a chance to win a national championship.

And had a very, very good first season. And looked at it as the most NFL-ready quarterback in the sport right now. So I would say Carson Beck is one to watch. And then there's a lot of different options at Ohio State. And oftentimes that doesn't help when you could go Trevion Henderson or you could go Quinton Judkins, the transfer from Ole Miss.

Or Emeka Ibuka, who's back at wide receiver. Will Howard, who transfers in at quarterback from Kansas State. So they have a lot of different options at Ohio State. Another guy that I'll mention, and I was just there on Friday, is Riley Leonard, the quarterback at Notre Dame. I think Notre Dame's a team that absolutely should contend and should make the college football playoff.

And if they do, he's going to be a big reason why. And I know they're very excited about the transfer from Duke and his dual-thread abilities that really spark that offense. And by the way, their offensive coordinator, Mike Denbrock, he came from LSU. So he just coached the Heisman Trophy winner in Jayden Daniels.

And he's trying to replicate that success back at Notre Dame. Well, Adam, with all of this expansion of the playoff again and probably again, again, what am I going to be another, I don't know, 10 years? I'm going to be looking at 64 teams? How much more expansion do we have here? Well, as you know, every playoff system in this country gets bigger.

Whether it's Crows or College. I don't think it needs to get much bigger than this. I think this will be a representative, a more nationally representative playoff. There'll be more opportunities. There'll be more meaningful games around the country.

Think about it. Even the Group of Five. You're fighting for that extra championship spot, whether it's a Memphis or a South Florida and the American or a Boise State. And we talked about them before, but now they can actually get in. UNLV, teams like that in the Mountain West. They're going to have meaningful games most likely down the stretch.

So I don't think you need to go much bigger than 12. But as every playoff system has shown us, people want more postseason and will probably get it in college football. Adam, final question.

You talk about opportunity. Quinn Ewers has no more eligibility after this. Will we finally see Arch Manning? How much longer? I got to wait.

That's it, right? I want to see Arch. A lot of people do. Quinn Ewers is a guy who had a really good season last year. Helped Texas get to the college football playoff for the first time. The thing is, he's only 20 years old. Quinn was talking to him about this earlier this year. He seems like he's been around forever. He's not 50. Not yet. He's not 50.

He's another guy. You mentioned Heisman. Obviously, if he plays well for Texas, he's going to have a lot of attention on him. But so will his backup in Arch Manning. So the first sign of trouble, there's going to be some calls for Arch to get in there.

And Quinn is certainly going to do everything he can to stay on the field. You think that there's a small – well, there's always a chance due to injury and performance. But you think we might see Arch Manning this year? I don't think we will unless he's an injury.

Well, you just never know. Again, how is Arch doing in – we're in practice right now, preseason practice. How much is he pushing Quinn Ewers?

I'll say this. In talking to coaches around the country, Quinn Ewers is one of those guys that you can get a lot of different answers as far as feedback. I think he's generally seen as a talented player. But there's a lot of coaches that aren't in love with him. And so, again, if they go out and struggle, if they lose to Michigan, for example, in week two on the road, if they struggle early in some of their SEC games, if they lose to Oklahoma, that drumbeat for Arch Manning is going to get louder and louder. We both know that, and that'll certainly be an interesting decision for Steve Sarkeesian with his quarterbacks.

It'll be Manning time. We can start printing up the t-shirts. Hey, Adam, thank you so much for the time. Where can people follow you and your work with ESPN? Yeah, sure. So follow my work at ESPN.com, College of Ball Page, have all my stories there. And then, obviously, on X, at ESPN Rittenberg, so you can check out all the stuff on X as well. Hey, Adam, we look forward to catching you down the line. Thank you again. Thanks for having me.

No doubt about it. It's the JR Sportbree Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Quinn Ewers is only 20? You could have told me that guy is 55.

We're going to take a break. When we come back, I'm going to give you a little bit more depth about some of the stories that have been written and shared about Deion Sanders. And, you know, he's not the only legend who's been in the news. Charles Barkley put out a post today. Yeah, Charles Barkley utilizing social media.

I'll tell you what Charles Barkley had to say. We got a lot to do. As a Ford owner, there are lots of choices on where to get your vehicle serviced. You can choose to go to their place, the local dealership, your place, home, apartment or condo, your workplace, even your happy place, like your cottage on the lake. Go to your Ford dealer or choose Ford pickup and delivery to have your vehicle picked up, serviced and brought right back. Or choose mobile service, where a technician will come to you and do routine maintenance right on the spot. Both are complimentary and depend on your location. That's ownership built around you. That's Amazon.com slash Prime. You're listening to the J.R. Sport Brief.

The J.R. Sport Brief show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Thank you so much to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN for joining us in the last break to talk some college football. I just want to see the games at this point, right? We talked about the polls and we've seen the portal and we got the controversy surrounding Michigan.

What a time for it to pop back up, right? I'm ready for the games because the stories are crazy. I mean, even one of the stories that we talked about but didn't dive too deep into.

I don't want to call it a hit piece. But Athlon Sports put out a piece about Deion Sanders and Colorado and the Buffaloes and how the locker room was a mess last year. And you got recruits and players fighting each other and guys not wanting to repay debts. And guys getting slapped around. Now, I got to be honest here. What else is new? Like, is this exclusive to Colorado?

Was it just because it's Deion Sanders that makes it noteworthy? Like, what locker room when you take 100 kids, 100 young men, 100 men, 100 women, like you throw them in a room. You're fighting. This is a family. This is a different type of family. Who's not going to have fights? I don't see anything that's so otherworldly about this article.

And you can feel free to look it up and read it on your own time. It's just out of this world. Kormani McClain, he was a cornerback who was there and said he got into a fight and then he transferred over to Florida. And we heard what he said. He said he wants to be somewhere where he's not at a football program playing for clicks. And that's a decent criticism when it comes down to Deion Sanders.

And we've heard we've heard recruits say, you know, I wanted to be treated like a person and they didn't feel like they got treated like people. And Deion made that real clear when he showed up. I will not forget the first time that he kind of walked into the locker room after he got the job. He talked to the players.

He told a lot of them back in December 2022 that they should probably look into hopping into the transfer portal. And he described the players as like, like luggage. And he's like, I'm bringing in my own luggage and it's Louis Vuitton. So I guess all you other shabby briefcases can leave.

Listen to this. We got a few positions already taken care of because I'm bringing my luggage with me. And it's Louis. It ain't going to be no more of a mess that these wonderful fans, the student body and some of your parents have put up with for probably two decades now. I'm coming. And when I get here, it's going to be changed.

So I want you all to get ready to go ahead and jump in the portal and do whatever you're going to get. Because the more you jump in, the more room you make because we bring kids that are smart. Say that smart, smart, tough, tough.

OK, smart and tough. And we've seen a lot of turnover from forget from 2022. I mean, even this past offseason, we've seen a lot of turnover. And I think there's there's plenty of reason to be critical of Dion and the program and how how he how vocal he is. You know, whether it's Dan Lanning, you're calling him out or making fun of him, mocking him and playing for clicks.

And it's all reasonable. Does everything need to be shared on social media? Like part of it was Dion trying to motivate the young men or is he doing it for his own personal gain? Probably a mix of the two. Is it necessary?

Yeah, I don't think you need to do it. But that's how he is. And so he opens himself up to criticism. But all the articles now about the fights and and what have you, Hickey, you tell me. I feel like people are just like, let's find something.

So it's a kind of throw at Dion now. What do you say? I agree with the with the premise of this sort of general behavior, if you will. Probably happens in most locker rooms when you have 18 to 22 year old alpha males, you know, all together. That sort of behavior will happen. I get that. I guess what I'll say is Dion does make himself in the program susceptible to these pieces when he is so out, you know, outspoken.

So public and also not only so public, but doesn't back up what he says. And the winds so far that have not followed, which I think now allows for more criticism to come in. I mean, but it's been one season. I mean, just outside of a hot start. What did anybody expect from the Buffaloes?

I mean, they sucked before he got there and it's still bad. This year is going to be the the proving ground is going to be. Hey, can can y'all get to? I don't know. Can you get to seven wins?

Can you do that? I mean, would that be considered a success? Maybe not for Dion, but a few of the Buffaloes. You would consider that to be progress. I get I guess. Yeah. I mean, you go from three wins, seven wins. Yeah. No, I were four wins to seven wins.

I'm with you there. But I mean, also, I think you could I mean, I think you almost argue that their 3-0 start and the explosion that came with the attention they got was almost to their detriment. Just because there was so much attention and so much over the top overreaction, thinking that this team is actually going to be good, that when they just collapse, when one and eight down the stretch, like I think maybe people got false hope of that after 3-0 start of how good this team is, which set expectations higher than they should have been, which now seems like, if you will, underachieved at going four and eight when maybe if you lose a TCU, all of a sudden, you know, the attention's out there in the first place.

And now it's just kind of, OK, we're doing things as we go instead of Dion coming in and making this Colorado program, you know, putting him on the map immediately. It was it was fool's gold. I mean, that's that's what it was.

It was fool's gold. I mean, we had they were doing college game days. Didn't the Rock show up for college game day?

He did. I feel like the Rock doesn't move unless he knows, like, I'm getting 20 million dollars. Like the Rock showed up. Everybody showed up. This was this became a cultural thing.

This went past college football and became a cultural thing. And then they crashed and burned. And then Chidor got slapped around like a crash test dummy.

And Travis got his was it his liver punctured. And they went into the toilet after that. And so what they do this upcoming season.

Oh, my God. Their season starts August 29th. They got North Dakota State. They got Nebraska. Not going to look good. They got Colorado State.

They got Baylor. Not going to look good. Central Florida. Kansas State. Not going to look good. Arizona. Not going to look good. Cincinnati.

I don't know if they're being Cincinnati. Texas Tech. Utah. Not going to look good. Kansas. Not going to look good. Oklahoma State.

Not going to look good. Hickey, I'll go I'll go down from seven. Five wins by accident. Five five. And does that mean then Deon's gone after this year, you think? How many how many?

I think I think so. If you're Deon Sanders, how many years of losing you going to do? Come on. With no kids on the roster. What does he do next then? Like if he leaves, what do you think he's doing? Television TV. Right back to TV.

What he was doing before. Right back to TV for Deon. OK. Yeah, I'm looking at the schedule, man. Yeah, it ain't going to be all that good unless they're going to just light teams up. And that's what they're going to try to do.

But there's only been so many teams. You're going to go out there and win in a shootout. Good luck to Deon.

Good luck to him. It's the JR Sport Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. Speaking of Deon, he was just in a commercial with with Kevin Durant. What? I'll explain on the other side of the break. There's another legendary athlete.

You don't got to worry about him going anywhere. He works for TNT. I'll tell you about Deon, Kevin Durant and the athlete or I guess host who's not leaving Turner.

We'll do that on the other side of the break. It's the JR Sport Brief Show, the Infinity Sports Network. Look around. What do you see? Cars? Lots of them.

And guess what? They're probably on Auto Trader, whether you're into timeless classics or the latest trends. Did somebody say solar powered, eco friendly, vegan, leather wrapped, aroma therapy, scented disco ball equipped self-driving car? If you see it on the road, you can likely find it on Auto Trader. Big cars, small cars, blue cars, new cars and used cars, electric cars.

And one day, maybe even flying cars. With millions of options to choose from, buying a car becomes a whole lot easier. See it. Find it.
