The Denver Broncos' 8-2 record is deceiving, with the team barely getting by in many games. The Broncos' defense has been carrying the team, but the offense has struggled, particularly with quarterback Bo Nix. Meanwhile, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been criticized by NBA star Draymond Green, who called him a 'bum' due to his playoff record. Prescott has 14 touchdowns to 7 interceptions in the postseason, but his team's inability to win in big games has led to criticism.

It is. The JR Sport Brief Show on the Infinity Sports Network. Happy Friday to ya! I'm trying to get you all set for the weekend, okay? This show gets started every weekday, 6 p.m.

Eastern. Three Pacific.

Okay, we've done a lot of talking about the NFL. We're going to have an NBA player, dissing an NFL player. We're going to talk about that in a second. We've had some great guests on today's show. Thank you already to Fernando Ramirez from the Sporting Tribune, who came through to join us.

How about this? In about 20 minutes, we're going to have another chat. Brandon Cristal will be here with us. From Guerrilla Sports to talk about. The Denver Broncos and what they did last night What they going to do the rest of the season When they're actually going to beat up on a team and not barely win.

And so, yeah, there's a lot. that we need to discuss. There's a lot that we need to continue to get into. We talked about the NFL going over to Berlin and Germany. Got the Colts and the Falcons on Sunday morning.

The evening time, we talked about the Chargers and the Steelers on Sunday night football. We got it to Roma Dunze's dad. The Chicago Bears had a big victory over the Bengals on Sunday. and then O'Dunze's dad thinks he's Marvin Harrison Senior. He's complaining about his son's targets.

Like, what are we doing, man? Just shut up. Brian Kelly not shutting up. Got fired by L S U? He put out a statement thanking everybody at LSU.

Jaden Daniels, well, he's not going to need surgery on that elbow that went the wrong damn way. And speaking of injuries, we're going to give you an update on Brock Purdy. We're going to talk about an NFC West matchup between the 49ers and Rams. We'll get into Draymond Green, his comments on Dak Prescott, called him a bum. Does he still stand by that?

We'll talk about it. And if you want to talk to us, you want to talk to America, you can do that too. 888-710-4ISN is the number. It's eight eight eight seven ten. For ISN.

You got a phone? We got lines. Call. You can call now. You can also find me online.

I exist everywhere at JR Sport Brief. I am in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to our producer, in New York City, Thank you so much. to Ryan, Botcher You can always tune in on the free Odyssey app, your local affiliates are A66M375, and a smart speaker if you. have one.

Bach, I forgot to put this on in the studio. Uh Wenben Yama is back on the TV, right? He's back. Amazon Prime. Didn't even know that and I don't even have access to that on our T V's.

Damn. We're so technologically uh advanced, uh? Yeah, I I maybe I'll pull it up on my phone or sometime and I'll check in every now and then, but Yeah, I I don't hate the Amazon Prime games and the Peacock games. But it's just another step into watching sports where you have to go out of your way and find a stream. It's just a little annoying.

It's on Amazon. How difficult you gotta find it?

Well, if you're trying to watch it on T V, you need a specific channel to pull it up. On TV? It's not on TV. That's the point. It's on Amazon.

Yeah, I know. That's why I can't watch it. No.

Well, that's not your fault. Blame no office. Yeah, I should. Why don't we have NBA on Prime? Yep, well ju why don't we have Amazon Prime?

Somebody should pay for it, right? Yeah, good question. Who do you want me to yell at? Uh anyone at this point. Engineering.

No, no, no, not the engineers. Just you tell me who to yell at and I'll do it, okay?

Okay.

Well, I'll let you know. Yeah, let me know and then I'll yell at them over the air. San Antonio Spurs on Amazon Prom and currently beating the Houston Rockets 21. It's a 16. Victor Wembanyama, he's he's had a couple of games where he's been pedestrian, only like nineteen points and nine rebounds and Tonight he only has two points, so.

My Victor Wembenyama startin' off like a man on fire in a little bit of a slump, Leading score for the Houston Rockets. Hey, shout out to a Georgia Tech product, Georgia product, Joshua Kogie. Leading the way with five points.

So, yeah, I thought I'd see Victor Wemanyama dropping dimes all over the place. Kevin Durant has four points.

So we'll keep you up to date on that one. As it continues on, if it's going to be a fun game. And then uh Yeah, this well we'll keep you up to date. 888-710-4ISN. Let's eight at eight seven ten.

for ISN. You know, we talked about the Los Angeles Chargers and And what we can expect the rest of the way, they've had so many injuries on the offensive line.

Now you got Omarian Hampton. Shout outs to North Carolina. Then Tar Heels. You know, he's been injured on injured reserve. And the charger the are the chargers, they they have an elevated Into being one of the best teams in the AFC.

They're good. But nobody's looking at them going, Oh my god, they're they're gonna win a Super Bowl You typically look at the charges and say They'll go to the playoffs. And then they'll lose. It's probably gonna take another season. From Jim Harbaugh to help kinda, you know, move this team forward.

They're really going to need help. On the offensive line. They're going to need guys to just be healthy.

So things are so competitive. In the AFC West, between the Chiefs and the Broncos, and you have the Chargers and the Raiders just exist. Uh it's going to be a dog fight uh down to the wire, except for The Raiders, okay? Nobody expecting a damn thing. from the Raiders.

And it it's the same way. When you take a look at the The NFC West. We got the Rams who have just been lighting it up. I mean we heard so many comments.

So many comments. about the back heading into the season. of Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford, his back is cooked. Matthew Stafford needs an upper dural.

Matthew Stafford leads the NFL right now. in touchdowns with 21. He is having an MVP caliber season. Twenty-one touchdowns to two interceptions. As it stands right now, the Los Angeles Rams have a record of six and two.

The 49ers, despite Brock Purdy being out, they have a record of six and three. You got Uh Mac Jones coming through. He has a record of 5-2 since taking over. And I guess the bigger question is. What the heck is going on with Brock Purdy?

Okay, this guy's had a turf toe injury, came back. Heard his foot again, They just played against the New York Giants, where Brock Purdy was questionable. What the heck is going on next, that we have No idea. We know that Mac Jones will be out there. Again, What the heck is goin' on?

with Bri Party.

Okay, Kyle Shanahan was asked a question: Is this guy close to coming back? Tell me, Kyle. Yeah, it'll be back again starting. I haven't decided whether to make him active or not, but he's further along this week than last week. Oh, so there's no answer.

We're going to see Mac Jones playing again. Great.

Okay, let me ask a different question.

Well, I'm not asking a question, but somebody is asking him the question. Um hm.

Well, uh when are we gonna see Brock Party as the backup? Just talking to him, which I don't do really until Saturday. Just talking about how the whole week went and stuff and where I did last Saturday with him and see where he is this Saturday compared to a week ago and knowing each week's a little bit different. Um seeing how much better he's gotten. All right, so we we got nothing on the guy.

Nothing. We got nothing on him. And if you're Kyle Shannon here, what are you supposed to say? He he he probably doesn't know when his guy's coming back. He got Mac Jones.

I told you he has a record of five and two since taking over. Brock Purdy only out there to pick up one victory this year for the San Francisco Forty Niners after they gave him fifty million dollars a season to go out there and play football. He was mister Irrelevant. He was the last dude selected in his draft class. He went from Nothing.

to something.

Now he's getting paid the big bucks and he's on the sidelines. Come on now. Kyle Shanahan with Mac Jones. who was a backup last year for Trevor Lawrence, He's like this guy is pretty good. He's just done so much in college and done a lot in this league, so we had a good feeling that he could be like this, and he's been like this since OTA, so it hasn't been much of a surprise for everyone in the building.

Oh, but we had to go back to Brock Purdy's time, not Brock Purdy, we had to go back to Mac Jones' time in Alabama. Did we really have to do that? I mean, damn it, he got to the NFL, became a Pro Bowler in his first year as an alternate, and Bill Belichick got sick of him. I mean, I guess if Bill Belichick can get sick and tired of Tom Brady, he can be sick and tired. of anybody and the NFC West is crazy, okay?

We saw what Seattle did. Against Washington. And outside of the Arizona Cardinals, this is very similar. To the AFC West, Seattle is 6-2. The Rams are six and two.

San Francisco is six in three. There's going to be an opportunity for somebody to punch the other team in the mouth, the Rams on a three-game winning streak. As a matter of fact, they played a couple of weeks ago. and the Forty Niners won that game twenty six to twenty three. I mean, if you're the Rams, it's time for a little uh Get back.

Here. Puka Nakua, who's been dealing with injuries himself earlier this season when he was playing out of his mind, he says we just gotta go out there and play a damn complete game. Playing to the echo of the whistle, that that full execution of that entire snap. Just feel like it throughout the season there's been moments where we've been good in the beginning, good at the end, and parts in the middle haven't been good. But I think putting it all together is something that has been building each week.

Well, man, why don't you just be healthy for the whole season? I mean, he plays so damn hard I cannot fault him. Puka Nakua plays like he is just literally on fire He might be, man. I don't know. He got icy hot under his jersey, but that guy runs around like a crazy man.

Puka has been dealing with all these injuries. How are you feeling, man? You feel good? Feel good. Thursday practice, we made it through.

I'm like, the juices start falling, get a couple back slaps on Sunday. I'm like, I'll be ready to roll. Were you with the bulk today at practice? Both of you? Yep.

Felt good, uh I was uh one of uh A good run play today got popped by one of the guys and made it through.

So I was like, that's a good sign. Yeah, I mean he's been dealing with an an ankle injury. Yeah, I mean, I think we even heard it. Bacha, didn't Puka at one point say? He's not going to be one of these guys that's out here playing forever.

Um Don't remember it, but I can see it 100% because he Is insane. He throws his body into every play, and he usually initiates contact, and he's happy about getting hit in practice. Which is a little uh crazy. Yeah, he's nuts. I I think I think he said maybe in the preseason he made a point of just telling everybody.

He spoke to the meetings like, Listen, I ain't out here Playing forever. Yeah, Pooka the twenty three twenty three year old said in March of twenty twenty five podcast he wants to retire by age thirty.

Okay, he's twenty three years old right now. He said, I ain't I'm not sticking around here forever. As a matter of fact, he's already twenty four. He turned twenty four in May, so Enjoy, we got what, six more seasons of Puka Nakua and he's like I'm getting the hell up on out of here. And um I I I don't blame him.

Not at all. And I mean on the opposite side it's it's pretty crazy. Uh he's he's playing with Devontae Adams, who's had to pick up a lot of the slack. When you think of the injuries, Devontae Adams is about to be 33 years old, and he has eight touchdowns on the season. already.

Let's listen to Matthew Stafford talk about Devontae Adams and what he's meant to this team in the first season. I think our coaching staff does a great job of Um you know, finding ways to You know, let his skill set come to light down there. And I mean, he's been doing it for a long time in the league, especially down in the red zone. Yeah, well, he's he ain't been around since he's thirty three years old. Look, I don't know what the Forty Niners are doing.

I know you got to give the ball to Christian McCaffrey. When you think about all the injuries to the Forty Niners and all the departures, I have no idea. You want to talk about the the Broncos being on one of these these fluky streaks right now. I don't know how the 49ers are doing this. God bless Mac Jones.

coming in and steadying the ship. Christian McCaffrey, you know he's going to get the football, and he's still able to go out there and get the job done. It is just bananas. I'm taking the Rams. I think the Rams will ultimately uh end up In the NFC championship game, I would expect to see the Rams and the Philadelphia Eagles.

I think those are the two best teams in the NFC. I I just the 49ers, they're they're like riding. On Cloud 9 right now. And every season, typically outside of the injury-riddled ones, like last year for the 49ers with McCaffrey with the legs and the calves. It just seems like the Forty Niners always get there.

And they get close. or they go to the NFC Championship game, or they go to the Super Bowl. And they they they just lose.

So I'm not I don't think anybody in the long run Is expecting anything from the 49ers. I think they deserve a pat on the back. for what they've been able to do up until now. And hopefully Christian McCaffrey can walk away from this season standing upright. I'm surprised that he's lasted.

And even Mac Jones is just like, yeah, we just got to get this guy the ball. He's just super talented and I've obviously seen it from afar but to be on the practice field with him and OTAs and training camp, I really got to experience it and he's just explosive and he trains all those movements. He trains all those botch, I'm just happy that he's healthy, okay? Yeah, I'm happy he got the went to the European doctor and fixed his uh his Achilles tendinitis. Yeah, he went to Germany.

I think he got that, uh That PRP, where they they start spinning the blood, Boo. Uh that sounds dangerous. Wha what sounds dangerous? Yeah, you take, there's something about, you take the blood. Listen, I'm no doctor.

There's some doctor listening to me right now going, listen to this idiot. But you take the blood out of his body. And then you put it in some uh some machine. And it spins the blood. I think it it makes the the white blood cells do some stuff.

You know the white blood cells are for healing. You knew that, right? Yeah, I know that. I I didn't fail biology. I'm just confused why they'd take someone's board and spin it.

Yeah, because you want to. It's not about enhancing the white blood cells. And so then what you do is you put that back in your body in that area to try to help speed up the. the the healing.

So, you want to kill your cells and separate them to get the white blood cells out, probably. Yeah, but you're not killing. I don't know if you're killing them. I would have go, why you got to go to killing stuff? Because that would make sense.

'Cause if you're putting a centrifuse, you're separating it, so you're spinning it. Yes.

So you're basically destroying your cells. Why can't we say we're extracting and accelerating the usage of the white blood cells? Yeah, you get that's what it is.

Well, that sounds better than saying we're killing the. That's a.

Sound doesn't sound good. Oh, okay. Yeah. You're you're reu recycling your blood. For better purposes.

There you go. Which is not available, as far as I understand, in the United States of America. Why not? Hey, it's why uh Well maybe not. You can get a hair transplant in America.

You can also get a hair transplant in Turkey. Oh my God. Speaking of hair transplant. A bald David Robinson just popped up on the television screen. I'm so used to David Robertson having hair I know it was a very long time ago.

And David Robertson, thank God for not getting a hair transplant. Anyway. It's the J.R. Sport Brief Show here with you Coast to Coastal on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back on the other side.

Okay, last night we had the next week of the NFL season open up. We saw the Denver Broncos. Prevail Barely again over the Raiders 10-7. The Broncos have been barely getting by quite a few games. They do have eight wins and two losses.

They now have seven straight victories. They haven't been pretty, but they've been getting the job done. To talk about what these Broncos are, what they are not, and what the reality could be for this team, you know, coming out of the AFC West and maybe even going further, is someone who has covered these Broncos for years right now. You can catch him hosting, reporting on guerrilla sports, covering all things Broncos out of Denver. Welcome to the show, Brandon Crystal.

Brandon, how are you? I'm good, J.R. Getting a bit of a weekend break, watching some. College hoops right now. My Jayhawks in Carolina are going at it.

My buddy Doug Galilee is Green Bay Phoenix are trying to hang in there with Buffalo. And then at the night cap tonight with uh no Steph, but the Warriors in town to take on the Nuggets. Yeah, not too bad, not too shabby.

Well, this is what happens when the Broncos play last night. Unfortunately. All of us across America.

Well, did they play? Did the Raiders play? Were they playing backwards? What was going on out there? Look, we know division games can certainly be closer than you might expect.

And sometimes the team you think should win, because they seem like a better team on paper throughout the season, doesn't always happen. I think we were surprised last week to see the Vikings and J.J. McCarthy going to Detroit and get a win. And we've seen lots of times where a Raiders team that hadn't seemed as good as the Broncos have come to Denver and won, have won in Oakland. They had won four straight times, eight straight games, but four straight times since moving to Vegas.

And now the Broncos have ripped off three wins in a row over the Raiders. But going into it, I thought that the Broncos were going to have an easier time because we knew that the Raiders... Haven't done much offensively. Getting Bowers back certainly helps on paper, but you trade away Jacoby Myers. Geno hasn't looked great.

Their O-line looks really bad.

So Genty hadn't really gotten going, and Chip Kelly's not feeding him enough, in my opinion.

So I thought that the Broncos would be able to against a Pretty average, and you look at their numbers. The Raiders kind of middle of the pack across the board. Defensively, they don't take the ball away at a high clip. Get after the quarterback, even though they have Max Crosby, but beyond him, nobody's really sacking the QB.

So I thought it was going to be a 27-17 kind of game for the Broncos, and 17 felt generous, which obviously it was, but so it was clearly 27 because this Broncos offense is just kind of lost right now, which is. you know, a stark contrast that we've seen in flashes. to how good the defense is. They're almost the reverse of the Dallas Cowboys. Yeah, well, absolutely the reverse of the the Dallas Cowboys.

We see the the Broncos defense carrying them. We we saw Sertan walk away with the Defensive Player of the Year of last year. What is going on with the offense? I mean, they're they're having to come back late from games and barely win games. Is there time to turn things around or is it a matter of the talent?

I don't think it's a matter of talent, although The players are the ones that, you know, the stat I'm about to throw at you. I think they may have touched on on the TV broadcast. I was down on the sideline helping out our pals on Westwood One last night, so I didn't hear what they said on TV. But the Broncos not only are they the most penalized team in the NFL, they have the most penalties on first and second down, and that's something Sean Payton's harped on. And what makes it interesting is like, that's what we're used to seeing with the Raiders, certainly before Pete Carroll got there.

But. When you're as good a coach as Sean has been, his teams haven't been A a team that is Penalized often. You know, he prides himself just like Bill Belichick, right? They come from that Parcel school of we're not going to hurt ourselves. And the fact that they do commit so many pre-snap penalties on first and second down, or silly PI calls, or holds here and there, and it puts them behind the sticks a lot.

Their third down situation ends up being less than favorable, third and eight, or longer. And so I think that's been a big problem with getting the offense going. And then. Sean Payton, we remember going back to last year, that was at the Thursday night game against the Chargers, where it said run it on his play sheet and Amazon cameras caught that.

Well, he hasn't taken his own advice really much since then. They don't run it enough, despite the. seemingly pretty consistent success with J.K. Dobbins and even R.J. Harvey and a really good O line.

It's been good protecting Bo Nicks and when he's dropped back to pass, but it's been good. And they thought a year ago the yards were left on the field by Javante Williams and and the other backs. And and the fact that they're still not just staying committed to that run early has been a bit of a head scratcher. And Broncos insider Brandon Cristal is here with us on the JR Sport Brief Show. We know that this is Bo Nix's second year.

Sean Payton has his guy. You talk about the frequency at which the Broncos have been throwing the football. I mean, you got Bo Nix having to throw the rock. It seems like it's 30 and 25 and 40 times. Uh a game.

What's the difference between Bo Nick's last year and this year? Have you seen a progression or have things pretty much been kind of steady?

Well, I think if anything, you've seen a bit of a regression just in terms of some of his mechanics. And I don't want to pretend to be a quarterback expert. And some people, I think, hear things from quarterback experts and then think that they are one.

Sort of like when the Olympics comes on and all of a sudden we know everything about gymnastics.

Well, I understand we watch a lot of football, but unl unless you Really played it or coached it or understand it to that level. I'm not trying to say you have to do that. Most of us study where your feet should be exactly and where your release point is and all that. And so, you know, you hear people, again, people that I trust, and Kurt Warner being one of them, talking about him playing sped up when they're, I think, third least pressured team in the league because the O-line's been so good. Bo gets rid of the ball quickly in general, but I think that's one of the things Sean liked about him, and he doesn't take a lot of fat, you know, coming out of Oregon, but he's almost sped up.

to his own detriment when he doesn't necessarily have to be and he's not taking that You know, you hear the term easy cheese, it's there, the little dump offs here and there. And he's looking downfield.

So he's got, I think, eight touchdowns over 20 yards. But he also has left them you know missed the most open receivers by a significant margin. I saw that stat before the game yesterday where Cam Ward's second behind him and then Baker and Patrick Mohammed right there. But they're South of 500 yards in terms of missed open receivers, and Bo was north of 700 going into the game.

So and we've seen it seemingly every week, whether it be Cortland Sutton or Troy Franklin. To say that he's fully regressed probably isn't fair, but... Last year, I think the other part of it too, JR, is that The expectation was lower. He was the sixth of those six first-round quarterbacks taken, and they had the big cap. Hit that they were having to eat with Russell Wilson not being there.

So they were paying 50 million less in salary to their roster compared to everybody else. And they obviously not only win 10 games, they go to the playoffs. The defense certainly was great led to NFL and Sachs a year ago, and they beat bad teams. They lost. All their one-score games, except for the one in week three in New York, or rather, week four against the Jets in that deluge.

They win, what was it, 10-9 against. Aaron Rodgers when Bonex finally throws a touchdown pass. And so. It was kind of playing with house and money, if you will, whereas now the expectations are raised.

Now, was the defense really good and they got better? But you expect that a quarterback in year two is going to take a step. You know, most notably, like Drake may have, and even at times, Caleb Williams. Jaden Daniels is incomplete. Certainly J.J.

McCarthy is incomplete. And Pennix, I don't know if he's taking a step or not. It feels like you can't really tell. But you expected Bo to be doing. what Drake May is doing consistently.

We've seen the flashes, his numbers in terms of, you know, total yards and total touchdowns. are good and his interceptions aren't terrible, although he did have two more last night. But You just expected a steadier improvement in year two than we've seen so far.

Well, Brandon, we know that the defense has been holding them down, and the defense will continue to hold them down. What's the latest on? On Pat Sertan and that chest injury. I know he's on injury reserve. Is it just kind of status call at this minute?

Well, it's actually not on injured reserve because injured reserve, it's not four weeks, it's four games. And with the bye week in there, they thought that if you were to miss the Texans game, miss this short game here, that then then the Chiefs game he would miss, but the bye week And then they're at the commanders on Thanksgiving Sunday night, following the Thanksgiving holiday. That you should be back better. Hope. Back by that.

So they didn't want to take him off the roster for four full games. But I heard him on the radio today here in Denver. They asked him how he was doing. He said, I'm 46%. And that can be kind of sneaky funny.

So I you know, obviously there's no way to really quantify that, I think, right? I mean, we know where 100% is and we know where short is, we know where really bad is, but 46% was funny, but I think the translation there is just Hey. I'm I'm not going to be playing against the Chiefs, don't ask me. And you know, can he over the next two weeks before they're back on the field? You know, like I said on Thanksgiving, was that the 30th of November?

Can he be ready then? Maybe so. If he can add a a couple of twenty fives there, maybe we'll we'll see him. In a few weeks.

Well, Brandon, knowing what this team has done and what the record looks like and where the quarterback stands, 8-2, do you think it's. It's deceiving for what they actually are. Do you see them elevating to another spot? How do they fit in in this AFC West? Despite the record.

Yeah, I think It's a question that you know, I'm not trying to You know, cop out on not giving an answer, but I just think it'll be answered more accurately a week from Sunday because the Chiefs are off this weekend.

So we would expect nothing drastic would happen. You know, obviously, players can get hurt on their own or even working out next week when they're back on the field. But so, no, no game injuries coming this weekend.

So, next Sunday, when the Chiefs come to Denver. I think that's when we'll really know. Are the Broncos? Are they playing down the competition like they did? in London, but obviously they had just come off a big win over Philly.

waiting three quarters to get going against the the Giants, who are clearly a work in progress at that point. And so and then even with the Texans, they knock CJ Stroud out of the game, but they aren't able to Mm. You know, take advantage of that necessarily. They weren't really worried about Davis Mills, but I think that. You know, and Sean Payton talked about it last night, the old Bill Parcels line.

You are what the record says you are, because they went toe-to-toe in Indy with the Colts, who are certainly surprising people. They had them essentially beaten until they call that leverage call on the kick. They're leading the entire fourth quarter against the Chargers. Nick Benito barely misses sacking Justin Herbert, who makes a crazy throw, to Keenan Allen, who's blanketed by Riley Moss, and they end up losing that game on a last-second field bowl. And so we think the Chargers at that point, they had Joe Alt at least on the field, are pretty good as well.

And so You know, you could make the case, could they be 9-0, or could they be 5-4, or what? I guess 10-0.

So I think the kind of. While it's not been pretty because the defense is so good and putting up some historic numbers uh by some metrics. And because the offensive has shown enough, You know, they're not totally inept week in, week out. You think that they are I mean, is it eight and two on the plus side? It's it's shown that they're finding ways to win games 'cause a year ago, like I mentioned, one and six in in the seven one score games.

This year they're six and two in the one score games. May a good team's found a way to go out there and And win 'em. Hey, Brandon, in in finality here, what is the fan sentiment surrounding this team right now? Are they cautiously optimistic? Are they happy?

They are where they are? How are the fans feeling overall? I think that they yeah, I think cautious optimism, because it's been So many years since they were dominant. And even when they went through Bull 50, they were dominant on defense. Peyton Manning misses seven games.

He has more interceptions than touchdowns that year, but he made enough plays in the playoffs when he got back in. You know, nobody thought Brock Osweiler should have been an MVP candidate necessarily in his seven starts. And so, but since then, you know, it's just it fell off a cliff.

So to have the. the hope finally realized last year after the Russell Wilson experiment didn't work for those couple years. The the fan base is excited. And look, there are more Bo Knicks jerseys than there are for as good as PS2 is or Nick Benito or anybody else. There are more Bo Knicks jerseys being Sold by the Broncos and other retailers than any other player by a wide margin.

They want Bonex to be the guy, like any team does. They want their quarterback. And so I don't know Bo's feeling that pressure.

So the fan base before they're ready to say, hey, let's book tickets to San Francisco again. We're there for Super Bowl 50. Let's get ready for Super Bowl 60. They need to see more consistent play from Bo. But they also, they play the Chiefs up even when they've been not very good.

So next week they can they could beat the Chiefs in a twenty to seventeen game where the offense still not look great, but the defense makes enough plays and the Chiefs make a mistake here or there. And you still won't really know the answer to that question.

So uh at least in terms of the fans' optimism. But keep stacking wins, it makes it a lot easier to navigate. uh the postseason, especially if you end up with the home gamer too. No, without without a doubt.

Now we just gotta see how the rest of of this season plays out. Hey, Brandon, we appreciate your your time and your expertise. Tell everybody where they can follow, find you, all the good stuff.

So my my handles are usually just at BK Denver Sports. It's easy enough. And then guerrilla sports like Guerrilla Warfare, you know, it's our digital platform. We cover all the teams in town and in the region, cover the buffs and obviously all the pro teams here in town and the nuggets and halves just getting going. And I cover the Broncos and sometimes the Nuggets for us.

But we got Jake Plummer's there. Woody Page is doing a show with us now called After the Horn. I do a show with Chris Harris Jr. Chris Harris, Ryan Harris, and Shelby Harris from the Browns do a show called We're the Harris'. Live Moods is with us too from Fanville.

So we got a lot going on at guerrilla sports.

So check us out. And JR, holler at me as we get closer to these playoffs. Absolutely, Brandon. We appreciate having you on. We'll catch you soon, okay?

Sounds good. Thanks so much. Thank you so much to Brandon Christoph for joining us from Guerrilla Sports, covering all things Denver Sports. I'm not necessarily going to trust Bo Nix when we get into the postseason. I'm not.

And I said this earlier in the show. When the going gets tough, If I got to look at the Kansas City Chiefs and I have to look at the Broncos in a postseason, I'm probably going to take, you know, Patrick Mohammes. I may take a lot of quarterbacks, but this defense is so great. I mean, this could be one of the next cases where it's just like, hey, dude, don't turn the ball over, keep us in the game. And then we can deliver you the victory.

So let's see what these Denver Broncos can do. It's going to be a lot of fun as well when Pat Sortan comes back from that chest injury. Good to know he's not on IR. Who knows when he'll be back? Maybe before the end of this month.

We'll see. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-400. Four I S N.

We come back. And speaking of quarterbacks, not named Bo Nicks. We'll talk about Dak Prescott. Because Draymond Green had some uh choice words for Dak, very strong words. He called him a bum.

Draymond was responding to a lot of criticism he received, calling him a bum. Is Draymond sticking by that, or has Draymond changed his mind? I mean, we can call Draymond a bum in certain cases, okay? We'll hear what Draymond had to say on the other side of the break. Mark Sanchez, he's not going to be saying a whole hell of a lot.

I'll explain on the other side. But right now, what's going on all over the world of sports? It's time for a news flash. Here he is. It's Rich Ackerman.

They're 8-2. They're barely getting by, winning all these games by the skin of their teeth last night, beating the Raiders 10-7. If you missed that conversation with Brandon, hit Rewind on the free. It is all there. eBay. things, people, Love. We just talked about whether or not the fans and Denver how they feel about the team and apparently they're they're cautiously optimistic. Brandon Cristal said the fans are just buying Bonix jerseys.

By the pound. That's a lot of jerseys to w to be a pound, right? They're buying them about a pound.

Okay, now That was Thursday night football last night, what we saw. If we go back to Monday night. I remember vividly sitting here in the studio, standing here in the studio, and watching the Arizona Cardinals take care of the Dallas Cowboys twenty seven. to seventeen. Dak Press got through for 250 yards, had a touchdown, had an interception late that pretty much closed the game off.

Dallas Cowboys are three, five, and one. They made a trade for Quentin Williams. I still think the Dallas Cowboys are going absolutely nowhere. It doesn't matter who the hell they brought in. And so the Dallas Cowboys are treading.

water. At least Dak Prescott has been healthy. this season. He's had an okay year, seventeen touchdowns to six interceptions. He's leading the highest scoring offense in in the entire NFL.

It just sucks that the Cowboys are giving up as many points as they're uh out there scoring. And someone who's not appreciative of Dak, doesn't matter what he's doing. is a four-time NBA champion. No, it's not not Steph Curry. No, it's uh Well No, not not Steph Curry at all.

It's it's Dray Maugrey. This is running mate. And we know that Draymond Green has his podcast and he does a lot of talking. And after that performance, Draymond Green. called another athlete.

You rarely hear one athlete call out another guy. It's like, anyway, Draymond called him a bum. Listen to this. Dak's a bum. Oh, Dak's not a bum.

He's an MVP candidate. Yeah, that's fine. He's getting some numbers and they stink. Dak's a bum. He's not a bum, dog.

He's a bum. He's a good quarterback. No, he's a bum. They'll never win with that. You're too smart and you know too much about football to say Dak Prescott's a bum.

I won four championships, Jordan.

So you got to understand when I say bum, I'm not saying Dak Prescott isn't a good NFL quarterback. Of course, he's a good NFL quarterback. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying when the money's on the line, when it's for all the Marbles, who are you? He's a bum.

I totally disagree. I totally disagree. What has he done in those moments? Been a bum. He is.

He's been a bum in the moments, Jordan. When they had their best team, best offensive line in the league, they had all that to get to playoffs, and he's a bum. But the story isn't fully written yet. It's pretty written because now he's making $65 million and it's way harder to win. Like, you got to be so like Patty Mahomes, good.

To be like that highly paid and still go win, like that's a very hard thing to do. It it it's over. Oh my goodness. You go like then you can't have you you can't say he's very good and he's a bum. I mean that's that's a wide range.

Unfortunately for Dak Prescott, you start thinking about his playoff record. That's what people go to automatically. And Dak in the playoffs has a record of two victories. and five losses. That's where people start ripping Dak Prescott.

to shreds. And so it was pretty harsh to hear what what what he had to say. And uh you know, Marcus Spears, for instance, uh he was on ESPN. He was just uh well, listen to what he had to say about Draymond's comments. It's just the respect.

Of calling a dude a bum that has played football at the level in which he's played. If you're just attributing it to the playoffs, Being a bum is kind of crazy. That's kind of crazy to say. And it's a bit rich. coming from Draymond Green, who's played with arguably a top five player to ever play in the NBA.

To come out and say that, like, he's been the catalyst. He's been very important. He's been a big part of what they've done championship-wise, not taking that away from him. But Dak Prescott would be the Steph Curry. To the team and the way that it's supposed to go.

It's just football is completely different. when it comes to trying to win a championship. And it's not always attributed to the quarterback's performance. Yeah, but it's not. I mean, Dak Prescott, he may have a two and five record in the postseason.

He has fourteen touchdowns to seven interceptions. That's that's not a bum. It's not a bum. I would not put him in a bum. And so he's been criticized all over the place for saying this.

And we all know, and I say this: if Draymond Green was drafted by the Orlando Magic.

Okay.

Where where would he be right now? Would he be in a Hall of Fame? What wo what would he be doing? You'd probably be on the end of somebody's bench at this point, okay? Draymond had some uh He had a response to everybody.

Listen to what he said on his latest podcast. Since I said publicly he's a bum, I do want to say, publicly say I apologize. Just as a fellow athlete, I think I'd be pissed off if I looked up and another athlete was saying Draymond is a bum. I'd be pissed.

So I'm man enough to say when I'm wrong. I was definitely wrong on that. Didn't think it would get picked up the way that it got picked up. But in saying that my feelings don't change, I still think when it gets to the moment, I don't think he can deliver. But I do apologize with the way I categorize him as a bum.

He's definitely not a bum. Quite honestly, Jordan, when he's sick of playing for the Dallas Cowboys, we'll take him as our quarterback in Pittsburgh. Come on over. That tells you all you need to know. We'll take him as our quarterback in Pittsburgh, baby.

You would take him. Absolutely. 1000%. And in Pittsburgh, he will win. How about that?

He would win with the black and yellow? Of course, he will win with the black and yellow. I apologize. We will welcome you to Stiller Nation, baby.

Okay.

That's a nice way to respond and dress things up. I give him credit for apologizing. He just went, he went like, you calling the guy a bum? Like how would he f if he was called a bomb?

Okay, if Dak Prescott sat in a press conference and said, Oh my god, did you see that Draymond cost the Warriors a championship? He's such a bum, Draymond would have a fit.

Okay, he'd never forget we'd never hear the end of it. Bachelor who was he beefing? Wasn't wasn't there a point Draymond was He was on a podcast killing somebody. It wasn't Patrick Beverly, was it? It was probably Pat Bev, maybe Jordan Poole, just a bunch of people, his teammates and other people around the NBA.

If you talk bad about Draymond Green, he will call you out. Yeah, he's sitting on a yeah, he was sitting on a podcast kinda breaking down. I think it was Patrick Beverly. where he was just going line for line, About Patrick Beverly on his podcast. It was just.

It was it was nuts, man.

So, Draymond is always gonna say what's what's on his mind. And uh Yeah, I don't I don't know. Wow. Yeah. Patrick Beverly, Draymond Green, mm whatever.

It's just They're both nuts. Let's just hope they never sit down and do a podcast together. We'd never hear by the end of that. Good for Draymond for apologizing. We haven't heard from Dak.

The Cowboys are on their bias, so. You know he's gonna be asked, What do you think about what Draymond said? Dak is gonna say nothing. Nothing. None of my concern.
