I hate it. It's the thing that we wanted Craig Counsel to do for years is play small ball and just do the things that he just didn't do. The things he did as a player, which was amazing and we love it. This was crazy. He couldn't do anything.
He couldn't do anything else as a player. He couldn't do anything else as a player. What else was he doing? Exactly. Exactly.
And so that's what you have with this kind of baseball team that the Brewers have is that's what the kind of ball that they have to do. You have to play great defense. You have to have timely hitting. You got to run the bases. You got to bunt.
The things that Craig Counsel did his whole life, but did not do when he was our coach was just mind-boggling. And now we get a chance to return the table to 'em. Yeah, Craig Council's one of those guys. You look at him as a player, and it's like, hey, they're spanky. And he just.
Automatically call him Sebanki because it's just like, what else is he doing? He ain't no sla. What? Listen, I gotta be honest. I'm surprised he had the career that he had.
He did a really nice job playing with inside of himself. Yeah, he's just well, everybody needs one of those hustle guys. He was a pain in the ass. That's all he was. Pain in the ass.
He's an ass. Banks would. I appreciate it, brother. Yeah, no doubt. Don't throw nothing at him, okay?

Go after the commissioner.
Well, that's what took place in the WNBA. You thought beef between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese was something? Hey, sure. Two players hate each other. What else is new?
Great, fine. You gotta start a player. A leader. of the Players' Association going after the Commissioner publicly. Basically, telling her, You suck, you need to step down.
Okay, uh Nafisa Kalier of the WNBA. She plays for the Minnesota Lynx. Just eliminated from the postseason. and then in her exit interview, It wasn't so much about the Minnesota Lynx. It was about how bad Kathy Engelbert is.
as the commissioner in the WNBA. That she basically dismisses the players, doesn't have relationships with them. Nafisa Kahlier called her the worst leader in the world. Wow. And then she even told this story about Caitlin Clark.
about how You know, we should make more money, and we'll get into that conversation. But the players should make more money, Caitlin Clark should make more money. And Afisa Collier basically said, Kathy Engelbert. Was just like, she needs to be happy that she's even in the WNBA to have the opportunity to make this money. Listen to this.
I also asked how she planned to fix the fact that players like Caitlin, Angel and Paige, who are clearly driving massive revenue for the league, are making so little for their first four years. Her response was: Caitlin should be grateful she makes $16 million off the court because without the platform that the WBA gives her, she wouldn't make anything. And in that same conversation she told me, Players should be on their knees thanking their lucky stars for the meteorite steal that I got them. Oh, how true. This is getting good.
I love it. Kathy Engelbut's burt spoke because they do have the WNBA finals start tonight.
Okay, you had no idea?
Well, now you know. You got Phoenix, you got Las Vegas, and Asia Wilson. You're welcome. Kathy Engelbert responded Hey. But You want to make money, the players want to make money.
Kathy, what do you have to say? About that aspect. The players need to be thinking they're lucky stars about the media deal. You want the same thing as the players, right? No?
We continue to meet and have important conversations with the Players Association. I want to reiterate that we want much of the same things that the players want. we want to significantly and I mean significantly increase their salary and benefits while also supporting the long term growth and viability of the WMBA. We have made proposals to that end. We have been meeting regularly throughout the summer and playoffs, and we will continue to negotiate in good faith until we get a transformative deal done.
I don't know if that's coming. I mean, these WNBA players, they were wearing shirts at the All-Star game. that they didn't play hard in, by the way. About pay us what you owe us. What are y'all owed?
Am I missing something? And oh, by the way, yeah, everybody wants more money, but uh If the league is in Has been in debt. If the league, I don't even know if they make money yet. Yeah, there might be more cash coming in. But the league has you basically in the hole.
You gotta dig out before you can start spreading out the pie. Listen to what Commissioner. Engelbert, Had to say more specifically about Nafisa Collier's comments. Listen to this. There's a lot of inaccuracy out there through social media and all this reporting.
And so I think what's most helpful is to focus on I have been in touch with Nafisa, we've exchanged texts, we're talking next week.
So I think Obviously, a lot of reporting, a lot of inaccuracy about what I said or what I didn't say. And I will tell you, I highly respect the players. There's a lot of emotion and passion going on right now because we're in collective bargaining, we're in the WNBA finals, and so I'll leave it there. I mean, I'm just obviously disheartened. You know, I'm a human, too.
I have a family. I have two kids who are devastated by these comments, and so all I'll say is just. Um you know, it's it's obviously uh been a tough week. And I just think there's a lot of inaccuracy out there. Oh, she brought her kids up.
Can somebody please stick at the children, please? Mommy, are you a liar? Mommy, did you say that? Damn. Dash brought the kids up, ouch.
At least she's been in contact with Nafisakalia. At least they've been communicating via text. Damn, it's been a rough week in that house. I wonder what Kathy Engelbert's salary is. Hold on, let me Google that real fast.
I mean, she can't be ma well, she is probably making more than the players. Let's see. Kathy Engelbert. Hey, Bacha, I'm gonna say she makes, I don't know, uh 300, 400. I was thinking just 100 or 100 to 250.
Oh, no, no, she got to make more than that. Come on, let's see, let's see, let's see. Oh, uh-oh. Kathy Engelberth's specific salary is not publicly available. Of course it's not.
Yeah, she was at Deloitte, okay? She was making three mil. Um We don't know. We don't know. While not disclosed, the general range for WNBA president is around 900.
We don't know how much she's making. Let's just say she's making more than the players. I I bet on that one. Hey, Kathy Engelbert. You feel that your words have been misconstrued, you think they've been distorted, you think it's not accurate.
Are you texting with Nafisa? Can you guys build a rapport? Can you Try to fix things. Can you trust each other? The players have been great overall, I think.
So I feel um you know, confident that we can repair any loss of trust.
Okay, that's fine. But it wasn't just Nafisa Collier. Who came out and said, she doesn't communicate with us. We have no relationship. As she's telling us we all need to be thankful for her.
Oh. We had a bunch of players who came out, including Caitlin Clark, who's just like. Everything Nafisa said needed to be said. Kind of agreed with her. He had tons of players who agreed.
He had players telling stories. Elena Deladonna's like, I quit, I retired, and never even heard from the lady. Got hurt, didn't hear from her. What about the fact? That's a lot of these players hate your damn guts.
I was disheartened to hear that some players feel the league and me personally do not care about them or listen to them. And if the players in the W don't feel appreciated and valued by the league, then we have to do better and I have to do better. We know how great these players are on and off the court, how much they mean to our league, our fans and our communities. If they don't feel that, I will do everything I can to change that. Man, they really want this lady to leave.
Like they're in the middle of contract negotiations between the Players Association and the league. And it's like the the WNBA players want to push her out. Y'all y'all are gonna get a better deal with whoever comes in next? What is Adam Silver going to fire this lady? You know, Adam Silver doesn't want anything to do with none of this publicly.
He's like, I'm staying out of this. I'll do what I need to do in the background, but I am not throwing my. My hat in a ring. I'm not doing none of this. And they criticized her, they beating her up.
WNBA players go after the referees with reckless abandon. They kill them on a consistent basis and then they get fined $100. This is what Kathy Engelbert had to say about the referees who, according to the players, they suck. We've had a lot of conversations over towards the end of the regular season into the first and second rounds of the playoffs already, the semifinals. With our officiating staff, the leadership, to talk through exactly the evaluation, the accountability, the I again, I think there's you know, Everybody has their opinion on officiating in every sport.
I know I have five brothers. They have lots of opinions on officiating in every sport that I've been hearing since I was a little girl. But yeah, it's certainly something we're talking about. Obviously, the officials are evaluated. I didn't know this until I came into sports.
Every non-call and call is evaluated for every game. during the season. This isn't something like we blow off. Where the heck do they want the WNBA officials to come from? Huh, there's more money in the NBA.
All right, the best of the best are in the NBA. Where the heck where are you getting the rest of these refs from? I'm s I'm just being honest. And with there's levels to this. The NBA is a billion, billion, billion, billion.
What are they? $15 billion worth, I think. The NFL is at $20. NBA got to be.
somewhere between thirteen and fifteen and growing. The WMBA Maybe decades from now, maybe they don't even get there. I don't know. Inflation, maybe they will. The referees are going to suck in the WNBA.
What are you going to do about it? Pay him more? Where's the money coming from? Make more people watch. Make more people watch can't do that if y'all are in a lockout.
Referees suck all over the place, okay? People in the the NBA they there say the roughs suck. Come on now. Not as big a deal. But then what about the golden Goose.
We heard from the Fisakalia, said that Caitlin Clark needs to be happy. that she has a W NBA in front of her. A platform where she could make millions and millions and millions of dollars, even though she's making that money in college and already had a Nike deal. But outside of that, This is all hearsay. Kathy Engelberg.
Did what you say about Caitlin Clark, was that true? Obviously, I did not make those comments. Caitlin has been a transformational player in this league. She's been a great representative of the game. She's brought in tens of millions of new fans to the game, proud of what she's put on the court.
Unfortunately, the injuries held her back from a full season this year. But again, I'm not going to get into every point counterpoint. It's not productive here. We're here to celebrate the WNBA finals. I think what Indiana just did was amazing with all the injuries they had and everything they faced this year, bringing that to a game five in overtime.
But yeah, as I said, there's a lot of inaccuracies reported out there, and I certainly did not say that. Ooh. Botcha, did she just call Nafisa Kalier a liar? They called her a liar. They called the fans a liar.
They called all the podcasting. The fans? Yeah. The words came out of Nafisa Kalia's mouth. But they were spread.
People.
So forget media. Forget who's spreading it, okay? It's where the source came from. True. And said This is what she said about Kate.
She needs to be happy. She has a W and B A. that allowed her to make all this money. And Kathy Engelbert just said That's a lie. She didn't say Nafisakali is a l and what is Nafisakalia going like?
Oh, she calling me a liar? Damn. They're going to have a lockout.
Now, listen, folks. I love a good drama. I love a good story. I love it. It doesn't matter to me if this is men or women or whoever it is, it doesn't matter to me either sex or gender.
This is sports. Like I love a story. Like Jerry Jones, I think he's a jerk. Right. That guy's a good story.
He says ridiculous things. It's hilarious. It's it's horrific. It's bad for the WNBA that they're in this. But the fact that we have an active commissioner And an active star player who's heading the Plays Association, going back and forth with each other.
is amusing to me. It's bad for the WNBA. If they have a lockout, I believe they're going to have a lockout. This is bad. And then the fact that Kathy Engelbert had to read part of her statement, she read some of this stuff.
In some of these questions she responded kinda off the cuff. What happens next? A lockout. I think that's what happens next. I hope it doesn't last into the season.
But I think the players, if they're trying to get Kathy Engelbert out of here, I think she would have resigned by now. The crazier things have happened.
Somebody, please think of her children. Her children think. She's an awful human being, okay? Mom, how could you say that about Caitlin Clark? I didn't.

Okay, we know he's not all that mobile. He ain't running anywhere. And then you got Mac Jones. who's thrown for 900 yards in three games. Six touchdowns.
has thrown one interception. It can actually run a little bit. Not a lot, but he can go out there and uh Well, who am I fooling? Neither one of these guys are moving. That's probably one of the reasons that this guy's hurt right now.
Sorry, Mac. But there are people going, Oh my God, Kyle Shanahan's system is Is built for this guy. And oh man, well, Brock Purdy needs to lose his job and maybe he can get traded to another team. And I'm like, am I on planet Earth right now? Aren't there salaries involved in this?
I mean, we got Brock Purdy, who's in the beginning. of a brand new contract, paying him, what, $54 million? Like And what world and what planet? Are they just gonna bench the guy making 54? Mac Jones.

I think, you know, they brought me here to play. as a backup and that's my job and Brock's the starter of this team and Right now he's dealing with something and for him to go out there last week and play when you know he probably wasn't full for health. Like he cares about this team.
So I'm just trying to get some wins for him so it helps us down the line. And at the end of the day, that's what it's all about. Like, I've been in his position, I've been a starter. and you want your backup to go in there and win because at the end of the season that could be the hit or miss between a playoff or not. Look at that, look at a good teammate.

They do. But they're not, if you take it in context of the whole conversation. They're not as bad as it sounds. It's just. Ayusha Curry is just.
Focused on what she wants to do. more with her life. Not besides like raising kids, she's talking about like Her passions and building a career outside of being a family woman. When I met her. I think they had one kid, Riley, the older daughter who was sitting on Steph Curry's lap.
She has to be a teenager by now, I guess, maybe. Um And I met her because she was starting a cooking brand. Like, that's.
Well, you know, I guess if you have kids and more kids and more kids, it's tougher to do. Here's Aisha Curry. You be the judge. She says that. She didn't want children.
And she didn't want to be married, I guess before Curry. I didn't want kids. I I didn't want to get married. I thought I was gonna be a career girl, and that's it. And I had my eyes set on my goals, and I was never the little girl that like dreamt about the wedding dress and all of that.
And then it happened so early in my life.
So it's one of those things like you don't, you don't know what you want, you actually don't know what you want.
Okay, that's not bad. Like I wouldn't be sitting around talking about any of this publicly, but hey, I don't think that's bad. I think that's. I think that's normal for a lot of people. It's normal.
They met, I think they met in college. It's nothing crazy.
Okay, so we can the internet's being the internet. internet's being mean and nasty. Um Reasonable. Plenty of women don't want to have kids and don't want to be married, and then they meet somebody and it changes.
So, nothing bad there. What about this thing that she doesn't? Or well no. Steph Curry doesn't understand her sometimes. What about that?
I do not have a bone in my body that can keep anything to myself.
So, if it comes to mind, it's coming out. And he's so gracious, like. He tries. to resonate with me. But he just can't.
And he also comes from a place of like It's effing stupid. Like, it's not true, so why are you? And I'm like, but wait, like. Listen to how it makes me feel. And he's like, But why does it make you feel like that?
It's not real.
Okay, nothing wrong with it. They got a whole book about this. The book came out in the 90s. What is it? Maybe longer than that.

Okay, sure. I don't know. Do you know how many times people, there are people every day having this conversation all day long? She doesn't understand what the heck I'm saying. He doesn't understand.

She was selling cookware. That's when I met her. But after my daughter Turn One. I remember there being a shift and being like, uh I have Goals for myself. Like, this doesn't feel right.
I love being a mom, but I love doing other things too. And I need to get my. together and figure out what that looks like for myself now. If I have a career and I'm not home, like, like, did you experience that? I still experience that.
I still experience that. Like I'm always in therapy. Talking about this. If you lose all of those things that. were interesting about you.
Even for yourself, like even the things that made me feel confident and cool, then what, like. What are you doing? No, boy. This was on the Call Her Daddy podcast.
Now I've heard about this. Bacha, do you know about this podcast? I I think I know most of the lore or the the history about it. What's the deal? It's just uh women sit together and say things, huh?
It was part of Barstool. Oh, okay. I think her name's Alex Earle. She's dating Braxton Berrios. But I think she got so popular.
that she split away and Spotify gave her a giant contract.
So now she gets all these celebrities and influencers and. All right. You know what podcast? Lot. If if Aisha Curry was selling something, then good for her.
But I don't know what the point of any of this was. I don't know the point of a lot of these podcasts. Just people running around telling stories. Maybe they make some money, maybe they don't. Does she need to do any of this?
Does she really need to be hurt? Like. Oh. This is for women. It's not for me.
So, what do I know? She said her own husband doesn't understand her at times. Why would I understand her? I wish them nothing. But the best.
But who who am I to say? If I was here I go, getting in trouble. If I was Steph Curry's husband, Our well, not husband. Wife, I'd be sitting around doing nothing, okay? And I'd be happy to do it.
Where them kids at? Let me feed these kids, take them outside. and count the money. I'd be out here minding my business. But I guess that's a point.
You know, everybody got goals. I understand. I've had a relationship Or two. Or a few. That have not worked because it's just like, I'm working.
