This has to be the most famous mascot I think it's the most famous mascot in the United States of America right now. And shout outs to all the wonderful people uh with the New York Liberty who've helped develop Ellie. The elephant. Like this mascot is on the she's on the commercials, and I saw her doing Mary J. Blanche the other day.
The mascot was doing talk shows. I look up and I go, There's the mascot and she has on like a full outfit. Yo, botch, aren't you you're a fan of the Brooklyn Nets and Brooklyn, New York, Liberty, right? All this stuff, you like them, right? Yeah, I'm a big fan of Ellie.
She has she has her own dance too. It's pretty impressive. I'm not gonna lie. She has like a whole wardrobe, and it changes depending on who's gonna be at the game. What type of trends are going on social media?
Yeah, she's in the loop. This elephant, you just said it. The elephant has its own wardrobe. As she should. I saw the elephant do an entire Mary J.
Blige concert at halftime a couple of days ago that went viral. Like there was an entire inter the thing the thing excuse me the mascot does not speak But I've seen interviews and and and features about this and like Vogue. Like who would have fought an elephant? In New York City, dressed up in clothes, would be the most famous mascot And America right. What what are what are we doing?
I got a better question for you, Bacha. Have you ever met? Ellie the elephant. I've only been graced with her presence. I went to uh a couple games.
Hey, you wanna you wanna be jealous? You wanna be jealous? Did you meet Ellie? Ellie kissed me, yeah. Whoa!

Anyway. We got more to get into. I told you the top six list is coming your way in about an hour from now. Eric at home is going to join us in about 15 minutes to talk some NFL. But on the subject of basketball, not specifically Ellie the elephant.
Like we can't we can't get enough of Kawhi. Like every day there's something new. There was an entire story in ESPN today basically detailing how the Los Angeles Clippers and Some in the organization, they're tired. Of this Kawhi situation. They're tired of the dude.
They're ready to get rid of them. They don't want to build around him. And and why the hell would you want him? The guy just The guy just barely plays. It has a million knee injuries.
He has the personality of a of a dry erase board. And so yesterday at Front Office Sports, we've had all these uh conventions of people sitting around patting each other on the back the past couple of days. Adam Silver. He sat around. And he basically says, You know what, I'm a former lawyer.
He didn't say that. But he basically said, we are going to conduct a fair investigation. And when it comes to being guilty, no, no, no, no. You're innocent first. And then we'll figure out if you're guilty.
We will bring whatever resources we need to bear on this investigation. I don't know anything more yet, as I've been very public about. It's not just because Steve Bomber is an owner of the league. I'd be saying this about anybody who's accused of anything. I'm a lawyer.
I believe in due process. I believe in fairness. And so we will be thorough, but we will begin with a presumption of innocence, not a presumption of guilt, is what I keep reading about. And then we will follow the facts. He sounds like a lawyer.
So we find out Kawhi gets about $28 million on the side from a company called Aspiration. Aspiration is supposed to be planting trees out here. Aspiration, this company is supposed to be be the main name rights naming rights sponsor for the Intuit dome. It should have been the aspiration dome. No plant trees all over the world.
And somehow, some way. Steve Ballmer puts $50 million into this company aspiration. Kawhi Leonard gets $28 million of it to do nothing.
Okay, if the company folds And then you got Steve Ballmer running around saying, Hey, I got flim flam. I didn't put the money in for them to pay Kawhi. Like, they paid Kawhi on their own. Why? Kawhi Lett has the personality of uh of two pieces of bread on the floor, nothing.
Like there's nothing going on. Then all these stories start popping back up about his uncle and. When he was with the Raptors and leaving the Raptors, they're like, hey, he wants a piece of the franchise. And yeah, he wants some sponsorship deals where he has to do nothing. And they even got a more recent.
Recent report That his uncle asked the Los Angeles Lake is the same thing. that his uncle asked the Clippers to do the same thing. Like when he joined the Clippers, I want you to listen to this in 2019. After winning the championship, with the Toronto Raptors. Kawhi Leonard, this is back in 2019 what you're about to hear.
Kawhi was asked about this report from the athletic. Hey. There was a report about how your uncle He was asking for a piece of the team and Kawhi, what do you have to say about that? Listen to this. I don't know, I didn't read it, so I don't know how reliable it is.
I mean I don't have no knowledge of it. I just said I have no knowledge of it, so. People make up stories every day. People make is this story that now here we are six years later. Has this story been made up?
Like people are just paying you to do nothing. Like, who wants to hire Kawhi Leonard to be a spokesperson? Like, like, I don't know. Paint on a wall? Like who who who's hiring him?
Mimes? Hey, just stand like who hires him? to be a spokesperson. I don't think I've ever heard Kawhi and Leonard string together more than, I don't know, 20 seconds of dialogue. And all of a sudden Kawhi Leonard is now out here saving trees?
And so you heard from Adam Silver. He's like, we're going to investigate this.
Well, I have a feeling the Clippers are going to get punished some type of way. I don't know if they're going to void Kawhi Leonard's contract, but there may be some draft picks taken away. The Clippers don't have any. How do you punish the bomber? The guy's worth, what, $200, $300 billion?
This is. This is nuts. And then you had Steve Ballmer. Hilariously. He was sitting around on one of these uh rich people panels.
And he was asked about this as well. And he's just like, listen, people. I got robbed. Listen to this guy. Listen to this billionaire.
This is not a fun thing to be through. Um I was Personally defrauded through our interactions with. with the company and some of the staff. The fraud sort of extended broadly. Uh through that We had many relationships with the company, sponsor, activation was through carbon credits, a whole bunch of complicated stuff.
But the important thing is our relationship with the company and our players' relationship with the company were independent, which is important under the rules of the NBA. I feel quite confident in that, that we abided the rules. And so I welcome the investigation that the NBA is doing. It's a great way from our perspective to get the facts out there. And as I say, there's nothing fun about being highlighted in this way.
It's a whole lot more fun. Uh to be highlighted for building a great arena. But this too shall pass and like I said, I feel very good about what we did and we welcome the NBA taking a look at it and hopefully agreeing with it.
Okay, all right. Yeah. Oh, by the way, I I over I overstated his his net worth. It's not $200 to $300 billion for Steve Ballmer. It's only approximately one hundred and fifty-five.
billion dollars. Hey, Bacha, what's the difference? And get is that like one less car or yacht, or is that twenty less yachts? How many aspirations? I don't know.
It's 50. You would go ahead, you do the math. I know, I'm just saying. You could have a lot of illegal contract dealings with that money. With $50 million?
Mm-hmm. Yeah. How do you punish a guy worth $150? You tell him to take a hike? That'd be the easiest way to do it.
But I don't think the NBA will do that. They'll try to make it more public. He's the wealthiest owner in the entire NBA. Damn it, he gotta be the wealthiest owner. In American sports, he ain't as wealthy as this guy from Saudi Arabia buying up all the sports.
Not that guy. I'll seek Whatever Tom Brady called his excellency. You know you're getting a lot of money. When you just looking at a grown man who you got nothing to do with and you calling him his excellency, I'll be damned. You got a right, I guess they wrote him a big old check.
That's right. Bacha, how much money do you need to call somebody His Excellency? How much money do you need? I take a million. A million?
You call them? Yeah, I have very low standards. I see.
Well, yesterday we were talking about getting abducted by aliens. I could tell.
Well, I no. What has aliens have to do with me calling someone an Excellen Excellency? I'm just putting two and two together. One day you said you didn't want to go outside because there's trees outside. You saying you want to get abducted by aliens?
You take a million dollars from Saudi Arabia. We're learning more and more every day about you. More and more. A million dollars is a million dollars. And me calling someone His Excellency takes.
Less than a second.
So I have no issue doing that. How much do you think Tom Brady got paid to call him His Excellency? At least $100 million. Yeah, I'd say about fifty. 50 and upside.
20 and upside. 20 and upside. 25 and upside. More than his broadcasting per year. 50.
37 and a half? It's got to be more than that. Tom Brady may have to move to Saudi Arabia where this is going. Maybe you find his next wife out there. It's like Space Jam.
Okay, they wanted Michael Jordan to play basketball 101s versus kids 24-7. They made him a slave, right? A slave? They wanted to. Yeah.
Yeah, okay. Yeah, Tom Brady be a football slave for millions of dollars. Like I said, maybe he can find his next wife there.

We got the Buffalo Bills. We got the Dolphins. Got to slay the games on Sunday into Monday as well. Joining us right now to talk about what we've seen so far through the first two weeks. But we have in store for week three and beyond.
Is someone who covers all things NFL for NFL.com and NFL Media. Joining us right now is Eric Edholm. Eric, how are you, man? What's happening? How are you?
I'm good, I'm good.
Well, let's get right to it. I want to talk about some place or a team that's not good right now. It's the 0-2 Kansas City Chiefs. We saw what took place against the Philadelphia Eagles. We know about the injuries.
Xavier Worthy, at least it looks like he's coming back. People can wear free Rashid shirts all they want. Eventually, he'll be back. What is your level of concern about this team that has dominated the AFC over the past about six years? Yeah.
I mean, on the one hand you say, look, Not too long ago, they were a 15-win team, although we had our doubts, right? I mean, we poked our holes in their season last year because of how they won.
So, you know, it's not like there was a I don't think this is terribly stunning to a lot of people in the sense that sort of felt like Like there was a little bit of smoke and mirrors to what they were doing. But then again, you know, they still got to a Super Bowl last year. Um they still have You know, one of the best Passer combinations in the NFL. Although, look, Sunday, they were at the center of the biggest play that kind of turned the thing around. You know, looked like they were about to go up or at least tie the game at worst.
And that connection that Mahomes and Kelsey have made a thousand times didn't happen. Kids run back, and Philly ends up putting it away.
So. You know, I trust that that combination. I think obviously they have. limited utility these days, but still. Eventually, they're going to have their weapons back.
How deep and underwater will they be at that point, record-wise? I don't know. I still think they're going to win, you know, win this weekend against the Giants is probable, or you know, in the cards, but. You know, they got some work to do.
Well, Eric, the team that beat them, the Philadelphia Eagles, I'm looking at them to go right back to an NFC championship game and likely a Super Bowl. And here we are in week two. People are still talking about the damn Tush push like it is it's week number two. Is this going to go anywhere? Are they going to, well, the owners, are they going to revisit this again in the offseason?
Like, why don't people get over it? Yeah, I mean right they got to uh you know Get the whip involved and get some votes on the other side. There were two votes away last time from banning the rule, essentially. And it was heated. There were some coaches who didn't want it.
Look, for as much as people could talk about, I mean, I do think the safety element is important. I'm not trying to diminish that, right? It's a play that even the Eagles players admit they don't like running because it's physically taxing on your body, especially if you do it. Two, three times in a drive, but I think a lot of, you know, coaches are just don't want to face it.
Now I think the Chiefs on Sunday had a gripe. It looked like You know, there could have been a false start on at least one of those, probably two.
So that's the kind of thing that. I think the the referee assist stuff could maybe try to help in some way. I don't know. Obviously those can't be reviewed, but man, there's got to be a way for those those refs to be able to see in the trenches and down the line and get a clear view of whether a guy's getting off early or not. We'll see.
Until then, there's going to be more and more complaining. We're being drawn by Eric at home from NFL.com. forget the complaints. We've already had a rash of injuries. We got Justin Fields with a concussion.
Joe Burrow is out again. Jaden Daniels is dealing with a knee. I'm going to pose this question to you because it was posed to me by one of our callers last hour. What's up with all the quarterback injuries? How do you think it is?
I you know, I mean, they were. four different injuries, right? It was feels a concussion. I mean You know, it it These things are are Kind of just cyclical, and I don't really believe there's any kind of magic to it or any, you know, any coincidence or anything. Um, but yeah, I just, or I think it is a coincidence, not any connection, is what I was trying to say.
But yeah, I don't know. I mean, obviously, you have. Running quarterbacks, you have offensive lines that are still trying to gel pass protection-wise. Um you know. It's just sort of a fluke thing.
Plus, guys like, I mean, Burrow has been hurt so many times. You know, you get injured two or three times. It almost feels like a magnet at that point. They're more susceptible to injuries elsewhere if you have multiple things going on.
So. You know, that's part of it. Fields is a running quarterback. Daniels, we haven't seen the offensive line there in Washington. quite reach the expectations.
based on who they brought in the offseason. Um Yeah, I think it's it's Probably a little bit of all that, but I can't think there's a real connection between any of them. Eric, all this talk about quarterbacks. We got a 48-year-old quarterback who's in the news. He doesn't even play anymore.
And that's that's Tom Brady. Like when Tom Brady Received the approval to purchase his 5% of the Las Vegas Raiders. It it was it was kind of vetted and and voted upon. Why why all of a sudden are people throwing fits? Because it was broadcast on ESPN?
Like we knew this for two years. Why is everybody pitching a fit now? I agree. I think the story is a l uh being a little bit Uh, blown out of proportion in the sense that, like, everyone got all hot and bothered. Oh my god, there's Tom Brady and the present.
In the coach's box there. Wow, that's you know.
Well well we don't say anything about you know any other Owner on the sideline or anywhere else in the stadium. They can do what they want, right? Plus, you know, the the Fox and whether it's a conflict of interest or whatever. If you're a coach and you, and these guys are all suspicious of everything anyway, right?
So if you walk into that meeting with Brady thinking, like, hmm, should I? Spill the house secrets, or what? I'm really conflicted about this. No, of course you're not going to say anything, right? Or you're not going to.
you know, give them everything. And so Look, I get that they're seeing a window into how operations go in every organization and all that stuff. They might meet with assistant coaches who could be. You know, Pete Carroll's replacement one day. I'm just making this stuff up.
But you know what I'm saying? There's plenty of scenarios where. You know, maybe Brady can get a little bit of an edge and find out stuff, but look, I don't know. He was also in the best organization for 20 years and then won a Super Bowl with another one. I mean, How much is he really learning there, and how much is he really gleaning?
I don't know. Yeah, it's no big deal. I said, let me know when Tom Brady is like paying off production assistants to steal the real information. Put little seeker cameras in every meeting room he sees in right. I don't think so, yeah.
Yeah, let me know when that happens.
Well, We got week three that starts tomorrow, Eric. We got the Buffalo Bills, who look like they're just going to steamroll everybody for the majority of the season, despite some injuries. And then we got the Dolphins, who look like they are ready to be steamrolled into a bunch of people getting fired. What's the deal with the game tomorrow? What should we look out for besides maybe a beatdown?
Yeah, I mean it the the one positive, I think the Dolphins could probably take out of that game. Even with some misconnections, there was at least some big play explosion that just wasn't there against the Colts. That was the most shocking thing for me. You know, yeah, you give up 33 points to the Colts in week one. That was a little bit surprising.
But it was the fact they couldn't get anything going offensively, at least against New England. And I have no idea how good New England's defense is. I don't think it's great. But they do have a pass rush at least. And You know, I mean.
They got something going there. Buffalo is a little banged up on defense. Ed Oliver is going to be out. Matt Milano is going to be out. B's are going to be a little thin.
So, you know, if Miami can't, I mean, they've had such a bad record against the Bills. Two is one and eight against them. You know, Sean McDermott's never lost to the Dolphins in Buffalo before. You know, final year of Highmark Stadium. They're not planning on losing this game, but.
If you're Miami, you gotta feel like You come out of there with something. You you can move the ball at least. No, they better hope so. I mean, we got Tuatonga Valois saying that I can't do half the things. That Josh Allen.
I can't believe that he said that. Do you think that Mike McDaniel is going to be able to see things through with his job throughout this entire season? Yeah, uh it it it felt like The pressure started mounting against them in the offseason.
Well, obviously, last year, too. But I mean, it just. It felt like, you know, when everyone's making their lists of, you know, who the hot seat coaches are or whatever, you started. Weighing the evidence, so to speak, and going, man. You know, if they don't get out of the gates with it with a couple wins, or if they don't Take care of business against the lesser teams, like the Jets and the Patriots, or the Panthers, whoever else they play, Browns.
They're going to be in a whole world of trouble.
So let's say they lose Thursday. 0-3 may not have a win in October until October. You know, all of a sudden, Mike McDaniel's below 500 as a Dolphins coach, and you start asking big questions. Oh, there's a lot of questions there. Eric at home is joining us here from NFL.com.
When you think about some you mentioned the Colts, this is a team that's 2-0. No punts, no turnovers, not sustainable, impossible, really. What team do you look at that that's a little surprising that you think can actually maybe sustain their success? Yeah, I mean, the Colts are interesting, obviously. You know, they're kind of the team that everyone's sort of.
Most curious about right now. I think Arizona's an underwhelming 2-0. The 49ers at least have kind of, look, they did one without their starting quarterback, and they're still missing other receivers and other pieces, too.
So people are kind of giving them the benefit of the doubt, I think, a little bit. But, you know, I I I guess I would say, I don't know if people are shocked by Tiapa Bay, but I I think they're really good. And it hurts that they lose Kalija Cancy and Luke Gedeke for, you know, major, if not the whole season, definitely for Cancey. We don't know about Gedeke yet, but. Man, I think with Baker playing at the levels he's at, if they can stay healthy otherwise, Develop that secondary a little bit more.
They're a really interesting team. I picked him to go to the Super Bowl and lose in the preseason. I got a couple curious sideways looks, but. You know, a couple of close victories against good teams on the road. I mean, they've done well.
Oh my god, if Baker Mayfield wins the Super Bowl, will we ever hear the end of it? From him, man, the Browns, just think about it. Like, they, I mean, I understand it would be on football with that relationship, but still, it was a guy you had. Drafted, hand-picked in a class with how many quarterbacks that went high, you know. He was their guy, and they invested everything in him.
It went so south, and they would watch him win the Super Bowl. I swear it would just be another reminder of. the the long suffering uh fans there. Yeah, they paid the other guy 230 plus mil to do nothing, so. To do nothing.
But we'll see.
Well, speaking on the on the other end of the spectrum, Yeah, the Chiefs are sitting here at 0-2. But is there another team? That you think that's in the toilet right now that can actually maybe still make the playoffs? Ah, good question. Let me think here.
I don't wanna Look, I mean the the The the Bears have a long way to climb up, but And everybody's, you know, sort of killing Ben Johnson. He looks like he's. Serious, like right now, he's not messing around after Sunday. But they have talent. Like, I just look at the other 0-2 teams, and I'm like, if there's one I'm willing to bet on, it's that one, I think.
I mean, You know, the Jets, we don't know with fields, I guess. Dolphins, you know, where we're already saying they're 0-3. I don't know. Giants kind of tempt me a little bit. We saw those flashes on Sunday, but.
You know, the Bears are probably like the the 0-in-2 team other than the Chiefs, right? But Who have I mean, once they get healthy in the secondary, we don't know when that's going to be. Maybe if they can juice up that pass rush more, that's a big problem right now. But the offensive weapons are there. That's the one team that I would say.
Could get hot at some point.

struck out five batters. Hit his fiftieth home run of the season. First guy to strike out fifty and hit fifty home runs in a year and then he still lost because the bullpen blew it. Like, what can't Shohei Otani do?
Well, he couldn't win yesterday. The Phillies won the National League East a couple days ago. They're waiting for the postseason. Kyle Schwarber is waiting for a big old payday. It's just It's nuts.
It's nuts what they're able to do, man. That's what Dave Roberts, he's ready for the postseason. He's trying to win another World Series. This is what Dave Roberts had to say. about pulling Shawhey Even after he threw five no-hit innings, no no-hitter.
Listen to this. I haven't um We haven't we've been very steadfast in every situation as far as ending for his usage, from one inning to two innings to three to four to five. We haven't deviated from that.
So I was trying to get his pulse on for going forward where he's at, continuing to go to the sixth inning. And he says. Feel okay. And so that was good. Um but I'm not gonna Have a, you know.
plan for five innings and then He pitches well and says, Hey, now you're going to go six innings. And then, you know, he's too important. And if something does happen, then that's on me for changing it. And we haven't done that all year.
So I'm not going to do that right now.
So, yeah. I would have loved to have him go out there, but if the conversation was if he's efficient, he can go to the sixth inning, that's a different conversation. But it was a hard five innings and That's just the way it goes, and guys have got to do their jobs. Yeah, come on man. He ain't trying to get fired.
You're not trying to put Shaw Aotani out on that mound and he blows out his arm again. Dave Roberts would be on the unemployment line.
Now, you got to figure out how you can utilize Shohei Otani in the postseason. They got all these pictures, and they got a bumass bullpen. Then we might see Sho Hay out of the bullpen. In the playoffs, and then they may have to put him in the outfield just so he can continue to play and not have to get pulled from the game. Completely.
This is what Shohei had to say about his performance and stand out the game. And no, it wasn't him speaking, it was his interpreter. In terms of today, I think every ball that was hit ended up being an out, so I think that really helped with the pitch count. And I think considering my last outing was a little bit unique and abnormal.
So um in a way uh I had to make up some ground. but couldn't really piss away the amount of in anxiety, you know. wanted to ideally Yeah, okay. Yeah right. At least this interpreter didn't rob him.
It'll be nice. Hey, let's get the NLCS. Is San Mia? Gimme the Phillies and gimme the Dodgers again. And then speaking of people playing well.
Cal Raleigh, this guy continues to do amazing things. Mariners have won ten straight games, beat the Royals last night, playing them again now. This man hit two home runs. He surpassed Mickey Mano most home runs by a switch hitter in a single season. Todd Ken Griffey, most home runs by Mariner in a single season.
They've won ten in a row. And all Cal Rally says, I don't care about no home runs, I care about winning. Crazy kind of thing I never thought would happen and uh But um you know just taking it day by day, pitch by pitch and you know, uh like I said before, just really enjoying this ride with these guys and and trying to really uh you know 360 is a strong. I love it. A guy earnin' his money.
Kyle Schwarber is earning his money in the offseason. Going to be back with the Phillies. Shohei Otani making $700 million. I don't care how much of it is deferred. He's making that money.
