I'll tell you about all the quarterbacks and all the injuries in a few minutes. Speaking of quarterbacks. Ben Johnson's not worried about Tom Brady. He's calling his game on Sunday. Raiders are playing the Bears in a couple of weeks.
Ben Johnson says, I ain't worried about that, man. Not at all. Deion Sanders, he should be worried about his quarterback. He says he doesn't want to do musical chairs, well he's switching up his QB again. You know Dion misses his son, you know he does.

Uh Jaden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, or let me throw his name out of there. Just the Washington Commanders, right? They're getting ready to take on. the Raiders this upcoming Sunday. But Jaden Daniels is dealing with a knee sprain.
And I guess he might play. He hasn't been ruled out, which is a good thing. Dan Quinn spoke about it. Just a few hours ago.
So Jaden had uh Good rehab session day. He also threw out on the field. He won't practice today. And then as we get into Friday, I'll give you an assessment of where we're at for, you know, after we go through practice on Friday. How much are you finding that you're having to hold him back from doing too much at this point?
Yeah, we're going through that process. Like, that's him as a competitor, like, but we also. You know, recognize the importance of the person, the player, what he means to the franchise.
So we're also going to be smart, not just fast. Man, they need to keep that guy healthy, come on. I know you don't want him leading the team and rushing every single season. You don't want that. He's not the biggest quarterback in the world.
He could be going out there getting his ass whooped. Is he necessary versus the Raiders? Not if they feel with a knee sprain he's going to be limited or be a sitting duck. And that's a positive, that's a positive thing when it comes down to these injuries of these quarterbacks. We got another little bit of an update, maybe just a little bit.
What's going on with Brock Purdy? Dealing with Turftoe himself. God bless him, he doesn't need to get cut open like Joe Burrow does. But here you have the 49ers getting ready to take on the Arizona Cardinals. This is a division matchup, NFC West teams.
Kyle Shanahan gave an update on Purdy. Are we going to see him? Is he likely? Is he unlikely? What's the deal?
Brock Purdy left shoulder slash toe will be limited. That's it. He's progressing well with his towering. Oh yeah, he wasn't eliminated eliminated to last week, so. Yeah, he does have a chance.
Is there a possibility that he could? be the emergency backup on on Sunday. Yes. Oh nice. Look at and see everybody.
Nobody's trying to give away state secrets. And they need Brock Purdy back. But if he can't run and he can't move, don't play him, okay? Not at all. Let Mac Jones go out there and throw interceptions.
Don't throw Brock Purdy to the wolves. You just gave this guy this big old contract. It it's it's not time to throw him out there. And that's the positive stuff for the quarterbacks.
Now here's the reality. There's some quarterbacks who won't be playing. Like Justin Fields. This man was concussed. Against the bills.
and he will not play in the Annihilation. versus Tampa Bay. And to be clear, yeah, I expect Tampa Bay, I expect the Buccaneers to annihilate. The New York Jets. Aaron Glenn, uh a short and sweet to the point.
He's like, Hey, My guy, Justin Fields, he's out. Listen to how aggressive this is. All right. When it comes to injuries, one person that I can just say out right now would be Justin. Um He still wants to his protocol, right?
So he'll be out. Ah, less less aggressive than usual. little bit more straightforward and to the point. Hmm. Aaron Glenn, I don't Well, I guess what is he going to say?
My guy sucks? Tyrod Taylor, you says, uh He's confident in him. I don't know if he's going to put up points enough to beat Tampa Bay, but he feels good about him. There's an element within him that we also have in Justin that I like a lot. And the fact that he's been in this league for a long time, there's no coverage, there's no pressure that he hasn't seen.
Um So that's why I have confidence in him.
Okay, alright, whatever. He's the backup. You could have confidence in the backup to be the backup, but I mean, damn, nobody wants to see Tyrod Taylor. Bacha, how many points are the Buccaneers going to score against the Jets? thirty three.
Damn. They just might. Yeah, Abuka's gonna have a field day. Mike Evans. I don't think he scored a touchdown so far this year.
He'll probably have to. Good luck to the New York Jets. And then speaking of the Buccaneers, What an entry they have. Kalaja Cancy Is now out, man. The guy had seven and a half sacks last year.
It's only his second year out of out of Pittsburgh. And Todd Bowles is like, we got to find somebody to get these sacks on this team. We got to find somebody. Everybody's got to step up. Obviously, we can't.
replicate what Canti can do for us and some of them gotta play the run, some of them we gotta have re ready for the pass and everybody's gotta do their job and we just gotta cover for 'em. Todd, is there a chance that Cancey could return for Playoffs, or is it just completely out for season? A little premature for that, I'm not really sure. It's been said that he's out for the season. This guy has a torn pectoral muscle, okay?
There's one thing that I don't want to tear anything in my body. Nothing. I don't want to tie ti a tear of chest muscle. A phi, a quad, a calf, some of these from a bicep.
Some of the muscles these guys be tearing, I'm like, no, thank you. No, thanks. I don't want to tear anything. We got another guy. He's just busted up all over the place.
How about Jaden Reed? This guy had surgery. to fix his collarbone. And his foot his foot has been busted up since training camp. He was running around in a boot until the season started.
And they expect him to be back in six to eight weeks. What? Got a broken foot and a broken collarbone, and both are going to heal, and they're going to feel confident that he's back. What the hell do I know? A matter of fact, Matt LaFleur was asked that very question.
If a guy got a broken collarbone And he got a broken foot. He just needs to let the collarbone heal, and then he is more in foot. The foot is more important, right? I don't know. Listen to this question.
And Matt LaFleur's answer. Jaden tweeted out that, you know, he had surgery on his foot as well. Do you affect that? Do you expect that to kind of affect his timeline for his reincarnation today? No.
I think it'll actually help him. in the long run.

We got guys hurt. Matt Milano, he's well, listen, unfortunately for him, he's been dealing with injuries for the past several years. You name the body part. And it's hurting.
Now you got Matt Milano dealing with a pack, he ain't playing. Ed Oliver, he ain't playing. And I don't know, maybe the Bills look at the Dolphins and just go.
Well, this is an easy game to... They kind of set out. And Sean McDermott was asked about that. Are you holding out some of these buffalo bills because the dolphins stink? And because they just beat up the Jets on Sunday, tell me, Sean, tell me.
Yeah, I mean I you know I I listen to we listen to to Nate and our training staff medical team overall our docs the same way.
So that's ultimately you know we wait on their Clearance, if you will, to say, hey, yeah, it's safe for the player to play. I think that's number one, and I think I know that's number one. and making sure a player cannot hurt himself potentially more. with any injury for that matter.
Alright, whatever. He can't say the Miami dolphins stink What do we care? Dolphins are dealing with their own injuries. I don't know. Is Darren Waller injured or is he just confused?
I don't know what the hell is going on with that guy. Anyway, listen to a guy who's about to get fired. Head coach Mike McDaniel, he gave his thoughts on the Dolphins' injuries before they get annihilated tomorrow against the Bills. You know w Waller and Chaloon Wright. Um We'll see how the how the rest of the week goes.
So Um You know, I I know they're putting their Um best foot forward. Um you know, I think uh You know, uh Jalen was r real close last week. Um And so Uh Um probably Um most optimistic about him. Man, that guy cannot get fired fast enough. Like he's he basically walks up to the podium.
And is begging. to be fired. They're not going to fire him tomorrow. They may wait a few more weeks. They're not gonna fire him after tomorrow's game.
Uh wait until uh Tyreek Hill pitches a fit. or to assess something else stupid. Uh it's It's only going to be a matter of time. Matter of fact, if you want to hear Tua say something dumb, Here it is. Tua was asked about Josh Allen.
And he praised Josh Allen. Great. But then Tua went into things that, uh well, Just listen to what Two had to say about the matchup tomorrow and Josh Allen. He's top tier. You know, if it's not with his arm, it's with his legs.
You know, that dude can do... literally anything he wants. definitely different skill set for me. Can't do half of what he does when it comes to running the ball and any of that, and then with how he can just. Chuck a ball down the field, you know, with how far and the arm strength that he has, you know, he's supreme when it comes to that.
Oh, my God. Bruh You you're not supposed to talk about what you can't do. Go ahead and pick up a guy, but you don't stand there and just tell everybody, I can't do that. Yeah, I can't throw the ball that far. I can't run like that.
Like, don't do that. Then give the money back to the Miami Dolphins since you can't do half of what he does. What are we doing here? To a Tonga Valo. I know he's had some concussion issues in the past.
Is that why he says dumb things like that? Did somebody in his household tell him, why'd you say that? Did the dolphins tap him and go, bro, don't do that? Dolphins can't go down the drain fast enough. Damn.

So many things over time: media, accessibility, entertainment value, athleticism of the players. Bigger, stronger, faster, longer schedules. What is it, man? Like, w I I'm I'm forty five years old when I was growing up, all the stars played every week, it seemed like, and These these injuries just didn't seem to be as prevalent as they are today. Maybe that's media access.
Maybe that's Just the the nature of how the game has evolved. What do you think? The big picture? Is there something you can really Put your finger on to where we are today. I'm missing all these marquee franchise quarterbacks.
Well, here we are in week three. Let me answer, Colin. Thank you for calling from Maryland. Appreciate you. I think these guys are big, they're fast, they're strong, they're more athletic.
The game is not as linear as it used to be. Of course they're playing more games. Of course, they're practicing less. I think when you got these high-powered athletes, like, give me a reason why some guy who's 6'4 ⁇ and 350 pounds should be out here running a 4'4. I think when you have the movement and you have the agility and you have the power and you have the collisions.
I think in the NFL, I think that's something that leads to more injuries. I mean, when have you ever seen you you ask about injuries to the quarterbacks? When have we ever seen quarterbacks move the the way that they do today. Whenever we ever seen pockets collapse and athletic linemen, it's a It's always been a game of collisions. It's always been a violent game.
But when you think about the movement, And I know this might be a poor example. Think about somebody like Derek Rose. How violent his game was. how athletic he was. It seemed to be that he was so athletic that there was no way in hell.
that his body would sustain going left or right so fast in the sudden stops and jerks and pauses and and pivots. You do that over 82 games. You can imagine that eventually your body's going to go. Man, that was one cut too much. I don't think it's any different than in the NFL.
It's up for these guys out here for blood. They're trying to beat the living hell out of each other. And so why do we have all these injuries? Yeah, we can chalk it up to more football. We may be able to chalk it up to less practice time.
in regards to you know hardening and softening up your bodies A lot of these guys are playing a long time, too. The quarterbacks are really now trying to push it to 40. Late thirties and forty, they're still out here going. Matthew Stafford is, what, thirty seven years old, thirty six, thirty seven? There's a full expectation that if this dude's back holds up, that he can help the Los Angeles Rams go to a Super Bowl.
So yeah, we're moving into week three. We got the Dolphins and the Bills tomorrow. And there's so many injuries already so many quarterbacks down already. They blame the players, bigger. Faster, stronger, more athletic.

All these quarterbacks who are hurt We got turf toes and sprained knees and Concussions All of the body parts. Name a body part in somebody is uh Somebody's busted up.
Somebody's busted up. All these quarterbacks so many stories. And then we have a quarterback who's retired. He's done, unless he's playing flag football in Saudi Arabia. We got Tom Brady who's in the news.
Like, what the heck is he doing to be in the news?
Well, there is the. Saudi Arabian flag Football Fanatics League, whatever the hell they're calling it. That's going to debut, I believe, in March. Let's just get a bunch of NFL players together and send them to Saudi Arabia. To play flag football.
Tom Brady coming out of retirement for that. And of course there was so much news this past Monday night. As the chargers went out, And beat the Raiders in Vegas 20-9, and Geno Smith threw three interceptions. There was so much talk and attention paid to Tom Brady. Who, because the Raiders were playing on Monday night, Tom Brady wasn't on no damn Fox broadcast.
that he had an opportunity to sit in on the game, And he was behind Chip Kelly in the coach's box. ESPN runs a report. Old Tom Brady is constantly meeting with Chip Kelly and. and having chats. With Pete Cowell, and it's like, yeah, I would think so.
I would hope so. And I feel like it got blown out of proportion. People are making up all these damn stories and it's just like, well Is it fair? And it's like, why are we having this discussion now? Nobody thought about all this before he got an ownership stake.
And that it was b approved. And and by the way, it was just kinda run through the ringer. In being evaluated as to whether or not this was going to make sense. Ultimately, the NFL said yeah. They put parameters on where and where he could go and who he could speak to.
Last year he could not participate. in the pre production meetings prior to the broadcast on Sunday, This year he can he can do it remotely.
So Tom Brady isn't popping into your. your favorite team's practice facility. hanging out with the coach for an interview, And then sneaking off into the locker room or a coach's room to kind of steal some plays. That's not what's going on. And we we have we've had precedent for this.
Like right here in Atlanta, Georgia, we got Grant Hill. Grant Hill has an ownership stake in the Hawks. Grant Hill is on NBA TV. He's calling the finals. He's calling basketball games all the time.
I get it. Grant Hill is not Tom Brady. He also runs USA basketball. Shout out to Grant Hill. Nobody pitches a fit.
Is Grant Hill stealing secrets and feeding them to the hawks? If he is, it's not working. I hate to say it. And so here we have an ideal story coming up, right? The NFL says we ain't forcing anybody to share anything with Tom Brady.
You could ask, Tom Brady could ask you a question, and you could turn your back and walk out the room, okay? And so here's an interesting scenario. Coming up. For the Chicago Bears. They play the Dallas Cowboys.
on Sunday. That's America's game of the week. Whoopthe freaking do. Let's see how many interceptions Caleb Williams throws. That is going to be an interesting one.
Okay? But Next up for the Raiders, they have Washington. And then after that they have Chicago.
So think about this, okay? Tom Brady. is going to be Watching the Bears. He's going to be on the call on Sunday. He's going to be able to have a chat with Ben Johnson.
on Thursday and Friday. Maybe Saturday. And then the following week, Tom Brady's Raiders. Play these same bears. And so I guess Tom Brady's going to be a mind reader.
He's going to look at Ben Johnson. He's going to rub his temples. And he's going to extract as much information he can out of Ben Johnson's brain. to help his raiders. when they play the Bears the following week.
Because that's how these things work. Everybody's always worried. And so Ben Johnson actually spoke to the media today. And he said, You know what, man, I I gotta talk to Tom Brady. He's gonna call our game.
And then I got to play his team the next week. Am I worried about this? Ben Johnson, first year head coach, this is what he said. Man, I've been careful everything I've said since the season started. I've been in pure coach speak mode.
Started.
So, me, it's just business as usual. I'm just fine. I like Tom, and we have a really good relationship. You've got one of the most competitive people in the history of the sport prying around for information in a very paranoid world. How do you reconcile the conflict of interest that exists with the whole situation?
Yeah. Like I said, I'm really not worried about it. I mean, we change week to week in terms of what we do. Schematically, he's going to be able to turn on the tape and see what everyone else in the world is seeing right now. It's not like I'm going to sit down with them and tell, hey.
Don't do this to Caleb Williams, or you might get it. Like, I'm not gonna, there's not gonna be any trade secrets that are gonna be exchanged, but I just really don't think it's that big of a deal, to be honest with you.
Now I was saying that yesterday. Like anybody with two eyes who sits down and watches a football game can pretty much decipher what's going on on the football field.
Okay, you don't need to Don't be a rocket scientist to go ahead and figure some of these things out. Of course, their intricacies. Towards the game plan and who you go to and what you do and the coverages and whatnot, of course. their strategy and intricacies, But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to go, Hey, the Chicago Bears are Owen Two If we whoop Kayla Williams' ass, then we got a good chance of going out there and winning. You don't need to beat Tom Brady, Joe Montana, or Peyton Manning.
So go out there and figure that one out.
So I'm glad Ben Johnson said what he said. But also in listening to to Ben Johnson. What do you got? He got a laugh track behind him? What is he sitting around?
Is this family matters? Is this something? Let's listen to part of that again. Let's listen to Ben Johnson because everybody's getting a hoot out of this. Listen.
Man, I've been careful everything I've said since the season started. coach speak mode.
So to me it's just business as usual. That's enough. Look at it. Listen to that. Am I listening to an ABC sitcom from the 80s or 90s like Ben Johnson got a laugh track?

The Bears are Owen Two. They got to play Dallas. Forget about Tom Brady sitting up in a broadcast booth calling game. There's a good chance that the Chicago Bears that they get lit up. By the Dallas Cowboys, or we might get a shootout.

Tight end Travis Kelsey was among the players who wore a free four shirt. Rice's number is four, during pregame warm-ups this past weekend. Rice injured four people too seriously. The attorney for one of those crash victims had harsh words for those chiefs' killers.
