won fourth and one, utilizing the tush push. Since 2022. Let me say that again. The Tush Push has been successful. Ninety six percent of the time.
They've attempted it one hundred and sixteen times. since twenty twenty two. You had two-thirds of the NFL who wanted to ban it.
Sorry, that's not enough. And now we even got referees. I mean, during the game on Sunday. We had A ref On facts? coming through like, oh my God, we w we're sick of the tush push.
Like, what are we doing? Like you shouldn't even be saying that And now we even got players. How about one of the Eagles' players? He's like, why are y'all still complaining? About the tush push, it's legal, we do it, we use it.
Why don't you learn to stop it? Jordan Marlata. Offensive lineman, great accent too, by the way, for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was on WIP in Philly earlier today. And he says, You know what?
It makes my blood boil. When people complain about what we do, listen, I understand it. I understand the outrage. Uh what I don't understand is. them using it as an excuse to why we won the game.

It's not fun. Then, man, tell these other damn teams to come up with something that they can be successful at 96% of the time. Raheem Morris, head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. He's gone on about, oh, this is another play where you can push a guy in the back, so why can't they push a guy in the back here?
Well, the NFL said they ain't got no problem with it. The other owners said that they don't want to vote against it. And so what is everybody else so smart? Like figure out a play to do. All right, we got all these other teams in the NFL.
Only nine teams have ran the play. Ten or more times since 2022. Let me say that again. Only nine teams. have even tried the tush push.
ten or more times since twenty twenty two. And the team that I've seen do it the most happens to be the Buffalo Bills after the Philadelphia Eagles. We got some other teams that have never even tried it. Never. The Saints No touch push.
The command is no tush-push. The Carolina Panthers, let's be real, their uh their quarterbacks have been too small. And then the Dolphins, they also have a small quarterback. They ain't doing no damn thing.
So shposh. If you don't want to see the tush push. Figure out a way to stop it. That's it. Or you figure out a play.
I understand. This is like playing a video game against somebody. who doesn't know what the hell they're doing. And all they do is push one button. Is it Playing that fighting game?
That guy you playing against, all he does is kick. He just stands and kicks and he he beats you. You know all the moves, you know all the strategy and he just kicks you. Figure out a way to beat it. It's a way around things.
Figure out your own move. Stop whining and complaining. This is football. This is the NFL. We got people punching each other in the mouth.

It was an accident. But You know, you start losing these players, we just lost them. quarterbacks on Sunday. But when it comes to the twist push or however you get those quarters, I don't care how you score. Yeah.
for those uh running backs or big bullet back to take a snap. Push them in there. Historically, I mean, before we got to this tush-push, we would see running backs get the handoff and kind of fly over, jump through. But it's not a coincidence that two of the bigger, stronger quarterbacks in the NFL. or two teams with the bigger, stronger quarterbacks are the ones who are utilizing The tush push and thank you Ron for calling from Buffalo.
I mean, have you seen Jalen Hurts in the gym? Have you seen what this guy's built like? Not a coincidence that he's just getting the ball directly. without losing you know, an inch or or having to deal with a handoff and and why do you want to give A running back, a direct snap right under center, he's not used to getting a snap like that. Maybe every now and then a a You know, a A toss or pitch Do you want to trust your running back on a snap that close to the goal line that he's going to keep the ball?
I don't know about that. No coincidence that Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts are two quarterbacks. We're going out there getting that extra yard. There's a reason why we don't see Bryce Young doing no touch push. They're going to end up pushing his ass back into the stands.

Stephen A. Smith was sitting around on his own show a few hours ago. And he was saying that she resigned abruptly last night, that ESPN did not want to leave lose her. And that Stephen A. was just as shocked as anybody.
This is what he said a few hours ago. But earlier today, When first take opened up, and she wasn't there, This is what Stephen A. Smith had to say. Yeah. Good morning.

However, Molly announced last night she will be departing from ESPN. She's hosted First Take for 10 years and elevated the show with her grace, her expertise. an uncomparable kindness. She's been an enormous part of our success for a decade. Not only did she keep me and many others in line, She did it with dignity and class and kindness to say the least.
We'll miss her. and wish her every blessing on her future. I personally am grateful to her for her friendship. and I will miss spending every weekday morning with her right by my side. Yeah.
Well, I mean, later on when he went on his other show, because Stephen A. Smith has a bunch of shows. What else is new? He said to be blunt, it came as a shock I was not aware that this is something that she was contemplating doing, but in the end, she made her decision. and we have to move on as a show.
I don't like it. I'm not happy about it because I appreciate her and what she's meant to me. what she's meant to the show, what she's meant to the business, and I'm going to miss her. He says, we all make decisions that we deem to being our best of interest for whatever reason. And that story is for her to tell.
Do I have an idea? Of course I do. Am I going to share it with you? No Because again, that's her story to tell. Molly Kieram went on social media and she says, After much reflection, I've decided it's time to close this incredible chapter.
and step away from first take. She sold everybody thank you with love and gratitude. She didn't give any details. And yeah, the show is going to be different. I mean, she is someone.
I, you know, she would speak her mind on issues that she felt were important. That's a her. She wasn't just the the host. She would go ahead and chime in. And kind of keep everybody in check.
I remember when the whole Deshaun Watson thing was going on. And the Browns said, hey, we want to bring this pervert in here with all the 22, 23, 24, 25 accusations. Molly Kim was like, where's the punishment? How the Browns just allowed to bring this guy in? Listen to this.
But as far as Deshaun Watson in terms of punishment, if he's losing these cases, he should not be playing this entire season. Maybe two seasons.
Okay, but don't play. And that's why they gave him, that's why he only loses a million dollars, Stephen A, because they know punishment might come down. A million dollars when you're about to get 220. That's a slap in the face to all women everywhere. I just need to say this: if he is guilty, Stephen A, right?
If he loses these cases, he's going to lose. They protected him so he gets all his money. Yeah, well, the Browns did protect him. They did. Upon signing him.
And he did get an 11-game suspension. And he also was hurt. And he's been hurt. And he's still collecting all of that money. Which is nuts, which is absolutely nuts.
I agree with her. Not sad. He has said the same thing for years.
So, you know, all the best to her. I don't know what she's doing. You know, she's given up that money. She must have something else she has planned. Maybe, possibly.

Now, granted, they could have a couple of games that they would miss, but there are other folks Now the only people of the other people that are in their division Have are like two and zero and two, and now it's only the second game. I realize that. But it just seems so. The schedules rotate, Mac, and this year, this go-round. The teams in the AFC East, they play the NFC South.
And so for the benefit of the Buffalo Bills, they play a couple of teams that stink.
Okay, I mean the Carolina Panthers play in a Oh, hold on, Mac. You had you said I wasn't saying anything I'm talking. The Panthers stink, okay? Not their fault, not the Bills' fault. The Saints stink.

I did um in Caitlin Cox injuries.
Now I did a what's I do an AI on the number of injuries that she had during her college career. And I'm not saying it's strange or anything.
Well, it is kind of strange. And uh it quite I don't know. What's the question My question is, what do you think of her having so many Having the numbers of injuries that she's had during that last turn, what do you think? I have an answer, and thank you, Mac, for calling from Buffalo. I think that she's played a lot of basketball.
I don't think that she's had a break. I think in her first year in the WNBA they was whooping her ass. And there you have it. Caitlin Clark and the injuries. She looks healthy on the bench right now.
Indiana's beating up on Atlanta in this playoff game I have on here in the studio. And Caitlin Clark, she's standing up and celebrating.

Defensive end. I want you to listen to Miles Garrett. Because after the game The Browns owing to ain't nobody talking about Shador Sanders right now. Miles Garrett is getting paid $40 million a year. It doesn't hurt that bad.

However some days I sit and wish I was a kid again. It's time for this day in sports history. See, back in those days, we had radio and you couldn't see anything and it was primitive and lousy and way tight. On the JR Sport Brief Show. I wish I was 50 years younger and I'd kick your ass.
Yeah, ain't no imagination here. September 16th. Let's go back to 1993. Dave Winfield. He was on the twins at that time.
He became the 19th player in Major League Baseball history. To get his 3,000 hit. He did it. He had a single off of Dennis Eckersley.
Okay, a matter of fact, let's take a listen. Let's go back in time to 1993. Here it is. Winfield trying to become the 19th man. to accumulate 3,000 hits.
Yeah. The first man to do it for his hometown team. Rounded towards the hole, hit number 3,000 for David Mark Winfield.
Well, good for him. He came away from trying to. You want to talk about people trying to dig up inside of information. And George Steinbrenner was like, man, you suck. He tried to get a gambler to dig up dirt on him.
Now, that's dirty. Call me up when Tom Brady does that to somebody, okay? Dave Winfield, he played two more seasons. He finished with 3,110 hits. and he was done after 1995.
September 16th, 1996. How about this?
Somebody else? Got his 3,000th hit. He played for the Twins too. Paul Molliter. Got us 3000.
He became the 21st Major League Baseball player to do it. And he did it with a triple. Unfortunately for him, the Twins lost to the Royals six to five. But Paul Mollada had three hits in the game. He did his part.
Take a listen to him getting his 3000 hit. To right center field. Myers and not only chase it. Meyer. The ball drops.
Molliner has his 3,000th hit, and he's chugging for third. And he's in with the triple. Paul Molliner becomes the 21st member of baseball's 3,000 hit club. Wow. Nice.
Enough of these 3,000 hits. Let's get to some damn home runs. Because September 16, 2007, Jim Tome He became the twenty-third player. To get to 500 home runs. He had a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
He hit it off a Dustin Mosley. in the Chicago White Sox. They scored a 9-7 victory over the Angels. Jim Tome was big as hell. Listen to this big home run.
Oh hey deep. Way back. He looks up. You can put him on the board. It is number 500 for Jim Tomey.

September 16, 2007. Oh wow, how about this guy? Damn, it was a long time ago. Parson Palmer. He passed for six touch six touchdowns.
Derek Anderson. Oh my God, he had like one good season. He had five touchdowns. Cleveland won 51-45 over Cincinnati. This was the third time in NFL history.
that you had two quarterbacks throw five touchdown passes apiece. in the same Game. Let's take a listen to this. Miss Brown remembers that went over the Bengals courtesy there you two. On September 16, 2007, The Browns face their interstate rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals.
Derrick Anderson threw five touchdowns to three different receivers. But in the end, it was cornerback Lee Boden who made a game-saving interception. securing the Browns 51-45 victories. I like how the music makes it sound more important. And no disrespect to Derrick Anderson.
I'm like, he really only did have one. I know what the hell I'm talking about. I look it up. I'm like, he really only did have one good season. It was 2007.
All of the seasons, yeah, not so good. Not good. Finished his career with 60 touchdowns and 64 interceptions. Anyway. That took place.
back in 2007. Let's talk about something that took place, it feels like, to me yesterday, because it is. September 16th, 2018. Patrick Mahomes lost his mind. He completed 23 of 28 passes.
326 yards. He threw six touchdowns. As Kansas City beat up Pittsburgh, 42. to 37. The man threw 10 touchdown passes.
Through the first two weeks. It's the most by a quarterback. In the first two games in NFL. History. Let's listen to Patrick Mahomes.
lose his mind. Get in 13. for Kansas City. Mahomes, timing route down the sideline. Gets caught, touchdown, Tyreek Hill.
Flag on the play. As Hill Breaks free for the score. This is going to be against Pittsburgh, so this is going to count. Defense. Number six, Sir Patrick Mahomes.
Yeah, Patrick Mahomes is a bad man. You wanna know something else that Patrick Mahomes did that season? He threw 50 touchdowns. He threw for more than 5,000 yards. Patrick McHolmes won himself an MVP.
People like man, you just got here. This is your first season. This is what you're doing? And then the Kansas City Chiefs, they did go to the AFC Championship game. And then they ended up losing to that Tom Brady guy.
Who then proceeded to play in one of the worst Super Bowls ever against the Los Angeles Rams? That was boring. As hell. That's a lot of history. Matter of fact, that's too much history for many days.
And there you have it, folks. A few things that took place this day. in sports. History. What a show.
