All you have to do is ask. the machine to play, the infinity sports, Network It's been a busy it's been a busy bunch of days here in Atlanta. Beyonce wrapped up her concert four concerts after last night.
MLB All-Star game tonight. Home run Derby took place last night. WWE packed up shop over the weekend.
Now they're gone. SEC Media Days. We heard from Kirby Smart earlier to day. He said the college athletes, the football players, are less motivated.
Now that they're getting paid. And we have more to get into. We'll talk about LeBron popping up at Summer League to watch Bronny, we got Paul George, who's hurt again. Man, we got we got Shaquille O'Neal threatening a punch. R G three.
Damn. I mean, RG3, he might deserve a punch.
Okay, I'm an advocate for nonviolence, but he might deserve a punch. Anyway, if you want to be a part of the show, you can do that. Here's the number. eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten. four I S N You can find me online.
I exist everywhere at JR Sportbree. as they still have as I sit in the studio, And look out the window and see them with these flyovers. And then I watched the T shoutouts to DJ Infamous. No, V one oh three, one of our Atlanta D J's. Performing with Ludacris, his well, he DJs for Ludacris, and then also.
Germaine Dupree. They're doing the startin' line ups here. Finally getting to Shohio Tani we saw Aaron Judge. Yeah, this is nice. I mean, what Bacha, you can't screw this up.
You can't screw up introductions at an all-star game, can you? You could. That's all. Remember the NBA ones? Where they came up like the floating platforms and they had to do a dance move.
And then Derek Rose. Is that the one where Derek Rose refused? Refused. You can definitely mess something up if one person doesn't want to do something. Yeah.
Well, everybody here seems happy. And there are there are and I get it. The times that I've attended all-star games, I haven't paid attention to the crowd. Like, I don't care. I'm there to.
you know, or shake hands and kiss babies, or or capture whatever video they want me to do. Like there's a crap ton of Braves fans in there. Is it like How the hell did so many brave sands? And it's typically you go to these all-star games. And it's all corporate this and corporate that, but there are a lot of Braves fans out there.
Uh maybe oh you think about it, who what other teams are close? To the Braves In like the Braves are the team of the South. Yeah, so that that makes a lot of sense why Maybe people don't want to fly there. It's a weird timing. No, I don't think so.
I mean, geographically, yeah, the th this entire The South is all Braves country. But then we have one of the busiest airports on planet Earth, so I don't think that's an issue. I'm just used to seeing. during these all-star games, these exhibition games, even the Super Bowl. The stands are all filled with sponsors and people who got free tickets and I'm just looking at Just visually.
There's a crap ton of Braves fans. I see Francisco Lindoy must have just got booed. as he was announced though. There there's a lot of Braves fans. In attendance.
So it looks like they're going to be on track to get this first pitch started. In about 15 minutes or so, I have no idea who's singing the Star Spangled Banner, but we're going to find out sooner than later. I assume it won't be Ludacris and or a Germaine Dupree. And so will Canaan. See what happens from there.
One thing that we will see tonight, besides uh Paul Skinnes and Schooble on the Mound, As the starters for the National League and the American League. We're gonna see the debut. At the All Star game. of the Automatic Ball Strikes Challenge system. This is something that Major League Baseball has been toying around with for the past several years.
And what is it? There's been so much talk about. The umpires being replaced by robots? Is it a ball? Is it a strike?
Well, not quite. Baseball is going to utilize a system that's a challenge system. Where you can literally watch the game the umpire still has a job. We're not displacing people, but the players will have an opportunity to go out there and challenge whether it's a ball. or a strike.
Now we've seen this in the miners. We've seen this get utilized in spring training earlier this year. And we're going to see it in the game tonight.
Okay, a human umpire is still going to be behind the plate, as I mentioned. Each team, the American League and the National League, they're each going to get two challenges. and if they go ahead and challenge, and they're correct, then, hey, they retain another review.
Now only the pitcher, the catcher, or the batter. can challenge and they gotta tap their heads. and we know back to the early part of the season, The players, even in the regular season, were being uh you know. They weren't being nice to the umpires by tapping at home. It's basically calling them.
Calling them out. And so we're going to see this debut tonight as Major League Baseball wants to see it in action. in the biggest game of the year, the biggest exhibition game. of the year.
Now Rob Manfred, and he was on Pat McAfee. And he basically talked about The fact that, hey, yeah, we still have the umpires involved in the process. And using the the challenge system Is actually going to help him out. Listen to this. This year, the emails about bad balls and strike calls have gone like this, up crazy, because they've now seen you can do it better.
And the sort of theme of the emails is, what the hell are you waiting for? I got it. We're going to use it tonight. It's been used in the minor leagues for several years, and we tested it with big league guys in spring training last year. We're in a process directed at bringing it to the big leagues next year.
Yeah, I think we can pretty much expect it to take place. In the bigs next year. Baseball has gone full bore. Like, even this announcement. This was made this week.
Of course, this is something that was probably discussed for months or weeks, and then they decided to just, quote-unquote, drop their hammer and say, you know what? We're going to utilize it in the game tonight.
Now, unfortunately, I think we've seen over time. When it comes to Major League Baseball All-Star games, They're just going to do what they want to do.
Okay, who I I'd like to forget Bud Selig just saying You know, we got to call the game a draw because we don't have any more pitchers. But baseball is going to do. What Baseball Needs To Do and they decided to utilize to night at the last minute to pretty much introduce the automatic ball strike system. At an exhibition game, no harm, no foul. And so maybe at some point later in the game, if it's close and we haven't seen close ones the American League's been beating em up for I think nine out of the last ten years.
We'll see something that we've never seen before. And Rob Manfred? He says that the umpires will still have jobs, and this is something that'll help him out. I never call the automated strike zone system robot umpires because one of the things we really do want to preserve is the role of the umpire in the game. And the way the system is designed, he gets the call, he makes the call just like he does today.
That's his role. That's what he's doing out there. Robo arms Now, I'm not look. I like technology. I'd like to maintain, you know, humans in every role in which possible.
I like that.
Now would I have minded if there were less umpires? Meh. And they make some dumbass calls sometimes. And so the interesting thing about using the automatic ball strike system is that the players are going to be on the hook.
So you just can't be somebody out there that wants to yell and scream and berate the umpire and have a fit? Because it actually has to be proven to be true. Like you just can't be out there screaming and yelling about something that is is not accurate. You actually have to you have to be judicial. You have to figure out whether or not this is the time or the place that you want to utilize the challenge.
Like we all know, baseball has always been said. Baseball is a game of failure. You're gonna sink, you're gonna swim. More often than not. You're going to fail.
Okay, nobody is out here batting a thousand, nobody's batting a hundred, nobody is perfect. Pitchers, nobody's perfect in that regard either. But we every now and then somebody's perfect. But the fact remains that the the umpires are no different. And so I think it's pretty cool that baseball is preserving that.
Because it seemed for a while that we would move to RoboOMPS. And in all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if twenty years from now The only time we have umpires out there are really To maybe do judgment calls, to operate the computers, to operate the machinery. I think in any sport, you do want to maintain that human element. Like in every sport fans, coaches, players. Everybody complains about the officiating.
Like one day it's going to happen. Where the officials are gone. And the calls are made by robots. I know that sounds very dystopian. I know that sounds very Terminator-esque.
Uh oh. Why do we need an umpire to determine whether a ball is fair or foul down the line. When Hawkeye and a computer can tell that right away, you know, why do we need a human eye to tell us about whether or not, you know, the chalk. lift it up because it was hit by a ball. when the computer can do that.
Like we can all think about keeping and maintaining the human element. But I think the more and more that we embrace technology, not just in sports, but at every level of life, Yeah, w maybe not today. We don't have robo-umps. It won't be next year that we have robo-umps. Give us some time.
I think the the the umpires will eventually Be displaced. What are your thoughts on that box? You think am I doing too much? I think they're going to be gone one day. I don't think umps will be gone.
Just because. I don't think the players themselves and the the umps, CBA, the union there would let it happen. I just think You're gonna see more and more challenges come out of the blue. Where it's like, okay, you get two now and if you get the right, you get a third. I feel like it's going to jump up to like 10.
to maybe fifteen per game. Because there are times where umpires do make a ton of bad calls and it doesn't work.
So I think they'll stay in the game, but they'll be able to be fix the mistakes accessibly. It's then that is for for a baseball that wants to speed up the game. Does that make for the best viewing experience? If now we're going to start amping up or ramping up the amount of challenges that somebody is allowed. Is that not That that that's gonna slow the game down.
It slows it down true, but at the same time. There's certain points in the game Where you need a challenge sometimes. and a call that you think is correct is incorrect. and they don't have the ability to overturn it.
So I understand how a fan might not like it. Uh to watch. But at the same time, it's like a drum roll where there's a reveal. It's kind of entertaining to watch, to see the calls get made. I don't know about that.
Like, people have been taking a crap on. I don't care if you are a ref in the NFL. the Roughs in the NBA, The umpires, I mean, we live in such a world where everybody's up for scrutiny. Especially at that moment, especially at that second due to social media. I don't know if fans are going to just go, oh, well, now we got it right.
Well, if we want to get it right just from the get-go. Just utilize the technology. I mean, I don't know if any sport needs more or less challenges. It is infuriating. to watch the end of a basketball game.
And so look at the the the referees from an NBA game walk over to the monitor, spend twenty minutes looking at some film at the end of a game, having to communicate with New Jersey and then to come back and to tell us you know, take 20 minutes to tell us something like we were watching a basketball game. And it was a good one. And now you're over here, you know, wasting 20 minutes of our life. There's nothing worse than watching an NFL game. The the refs have to get together.
They need to have a whole conference whether or not it was pass interference or who has the football. And yeah, you want to get these things right. We can't use technology. Like we need to spend thirty minutes figuring out whether something is a first down or not. And then baseball, God bless 'em.
We haven't advanced into, you know, using technology and. To now go ahead and see whether Call is right or wrong, but with a ball strike system. Yeah, you don't want to have too many challenges because baseball has spent all this time trying to figure out how to speed the game up. You know, what they don't need now is saying, Oh, well, now we want to Slow it down. I'd stay away from that one.
Eight at eight seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten. four I S N. Lee is here from Cincinnati. You're on the chair of Sport Re Show Lee Witsak. Hey, JR, thanks for taking my call.
All I have to say is, I mean, I pitched college baseball, and I even wish back then when I pitched long ago in the 80s. they would have had electronic comp because there's no questioning it. You know, you got they could have I don't know if they had the ability to have the technology back then. But do know if lately when they have had the ability Armando Dalaraga would have had a perfect game. You'll remember that call.
Yeah, you blew it at the end, yeah. Yeah, I think there is a place definitely in baseball for it. I'm not saying any other sport, but in baseball I think there is because it is a game of benches, because it is so close. And with l and electron it Um they won't get it wrong. You know, you can have it go back and look if you need to, but I think that it'll be right more off than not.
You won't have Um umpires Mission very, very Acute calls that are, you know, that are very important. You know, that'll be, and with electronics, it's either. be right or it's wrong, there is no in between, there is no gray area, whereas There is no human error element, which I think in baseball is much more important than it is in any other sport. And it takes a whi detracts, in my opinion, away from the game itself. Right.
Now, I will say this, and thank you so much, Lee, for calling from Cincinnati. Even if you have to look at this from outside the scope of sports, Is there not just like a human element that you still want in life? And so I get it. If you're a baseball player, you don't want everything to be. This is a machine, this is a machine, this is a machine.
You've conditioned yourself to work with a human. You know, growing up, there ain't no ball strike system, you know, playing in your backyard. There's no ball strike system. a challenge system in high school, it doesn't exist. And so when you're used to the human element and learning the umpires, that's a part of the game too.
It ain't no different than me. When I'm going and I'm picking up groceries, Yeah, every now and then I could have him delivered. I can stop by and pick em up. or I can go inside. And when it's time for me to ring up my groceries, You know, sometimes I I want to go to a human.
I don't want to have to ring them up myself. You know, if I'm calling customer service, There's nothing worse. than having to call somebody and pick up a phone. and be rerouted to fifty million different computers. When you could talk to a human being who can get the job done better, and so, like, everything in life is a balance, and I think as it stands right now.
This is a good balance. This is a good compromise for Major League Baseball to not just eradicate the umpires. That would never happen given the fact that they're unionized. But I think sooner than later, one day, Yeah, we're going to use more there's going to be more technology used. And I just think that's just something that's bigger than baseball.
888-710-4ISN. Alan is here from Wisconsin. You're on the JR Sport Re Show. What's up, Alan?
Okay. Hey, how's it going, JR Max? Very well. What's going on, please? Hey, two points real quick.
Why I think whoever is running tennis Needs to contact every single league and show them how they do it. Because for those listening who don't know how tennis does it, Genes has their human ref in the chair and their human judges around the place. But when a tennis player raises their hand and says, hey, look at that, They got it in like five seconds and they're back to and they're back to action. Yep.
So if they if they can pull it off in five in less than five seconds, they need to charge these other leagues billions of dollars and say, hey, this is how we do it.
Well, Major League Baseball has implemented it, and it's been very quick. If you saw it in spring training, it is very fast. It's not a long process. What was brought up is the fact that if you start introducing more challenges to the game, where if instead of completely eradicating the umpires, you allow the players to go ahead and have more challenges, I think that would really slow things down.
Okay, gotcha. The other thing was uh What the hell are the NBA doing with their replay review system? Because I noticed over the playoffs, and I didn't realize this. they're I think they're they're getting into a horrible slippery slope where They go back and look at reviews and they'll call files that weren't even called during the uh you know, during the live action. And it's like, what the hell are they doing?
Because they'll go back and do it other times. where they won't call files that were that were seen in the reviews. Yeah, well, I think it's very different. And thank you, Alan, for calling from Wisconsin. When you take a look at baseball, we're talking about judgment calls.
When you start looking at the NBA and NFL, those calls are beyond judgment. You've got gigantic human beings in the NFL and NBA who are just flying all over the place. And you have to decide who touched the ball, who didn't touch a ball, where did this go? Where did this not go? But things can get very complicated very soon.
One thing is for sure, and I think anybody who's refed, whether they've done it at a professional level or a kids' game, being a ref, ain't easy. I mean, we got a bunch of reps at NBA Summer League That are looking for jobs and they're calling every foul imaginable just so they can look good. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, Coast to Coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We're going to take a break when we come back. Matter of fact, let's talk about some NBA Summer League action.
As Bronnie James was in action in front of his dad yesterday, who still doesn't want to talk, we got Paul George, who is hurt, and then we got Jaquille O'Neal who wants to punch RG3 in the face.
So we got more to get into. Baseball All-Star Game getting ready to start. It's the JR Sport Brief Show, the Infinity Sports Network. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network.
It took a while. The Major League Baseball All Star Game is finally underway. If Paul Skeen is on the mount against Glabrator's, good for Glabratoras to even be an All Star. I don't know if the Yankees thought that he'd be back in this spot, but here he is for the Detroit Tigers. And now the fun begins.
So with the game starting... about twenty five minutes after the hour. Bacher, you said what you said, 20 after 11? Yeah, it's close to 11:20 Eastern. Yeah.
And let's see how much offense we got. I mean, sometimes you get to these all-star games and everybody's just getting sat down right away. And sometimes you get a little bit of offense.
So. I will see what uh What takes place here. We'll keep you up to date as the All-Star Game continues to roll on. Let's see if we have a challenge early. I would assume.
We won't get any uh challenges until late. But you never know. Eight eight eight seven ten four ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. As Major League Baseball gets ready to well, it is taking center stage tonight here in Atlanta, Georgia.
I'd be remiss not to mention the fact that Summer League is just like A wrap. And then we've had some up-and-down games pretty much. We saw Cooper Flag come out, have a bad game. His last game, he scored 31. And then we also have somebody like Bronnie James.
who played another game last night against the Los Angeles Clippers. His dad showed up, and I guess Bronny decided to show out. Seventeen points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals. Six or ten shooting, three or five from downtown. If this were the NBA, Bronnie James would be a rotational player, but this is against um I don't want to see your next door neighbor.
This is against other guys who are just trying to make the league or high draft picks. And in the case of some of the other high draft picks, like Cooper Flag. They're not playing any more games. And so Bronny or Bronny was playing in front of his dad. No additional words from Lebron James about him.
His contract status. There continues to be rumors that he might be traded before the season gets started. I'm Still, kind of a surprise. I would be surprised if that were to happen. And then his agent, Rich Paul, I mean, just the end of last week he was on Sirius XM.
NBA radio, And he says that, hey, like I'm not worried about anything with LeBron. LeBron isn't worried about anything, LeBron. But then you look at his social media posts. or you look at some of the comments and statements by his agent and friend Rich Paul, you go, Well, something might be amiss. Rich Paul says We're not worried about any of these reports.
We're just trying to relax and enjoy summer just like everybody else.
So many voices in today's game and around today's game and media and things like that, and everyone has a job to do. For us, hey, let those people do their job. It's not for us to rebuttal or to try to give clarity on what's said, what's not said. That's not the focus. Focus is: hey, man.
Enjoy your summer. Obviously, I wear a lot of different hats, so I have a lot of things on my plate that Yeah.
Well, I th the That's a half-truth. Like, I don't want to say that they're manipulating the media or the press, but they do. Like Lebron James, every action and every word and everything that he says, he does. The photos that he puts up, the things that he says or doesn't say, It's all the same message. Like LeBron James is going to try to control things.
as much as possible. An' if you're in his position Why the hell not? Like, I think it's in his best interest right now to kinda Keep everybody guessing as well as the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James opted into the final year of his contract. Apparently the Los Angeles Lakers didn't even offer him.
An extension to his contract because they want to maintain flexibility over the next several seasons. LeBron James has a no-trade clause. As they move into this season, LeBron James can dictate Where he goes, where he doesn't go. He can get to February, which I would do, and just see where the rest of the the season ends out, because I think as everybody knows, it's not how you start. is pretty much how you finish.
And so LeBron James holds all the cards as it relates to moving on this season, even if the Lakers wanted to move him. The only guys who have a no trade clause in the league. This is crazy to think about. Bradley Beale, and LeBron James. We saw what happened last year with Bradley Beal.
Refused to trade or waive his no-trade clause. And then they wanted to say, Well, we can't move you, now we got to move Kevin Durant. We saw how that worked out. LeBron James. He can pretty much say the same thing.
In in all honesty. I can't see a scenario where the Los Angeles Lakers say We want to trade LeBron. I don't see that happening. I think LeBron would have to be the one. to push the Eject button, Or they'd have to mutually say, Well, it's time to move on.
Because one thing LeBron doesn't want to do It's looked like a bad guy on his way out of Los Angeles. And I think one thing the Lakers don't want to do is just say You know, we're moving LeBron. F for what? And if you're moving LeBron, what are you trading a guy? forty, forty one years old at that point in time.
He's gonna have what? There's $50 million coming his way this year. What the hell do you trade him for? Not a lot? I don't know.
It's a very complicated situation. I don't see LeBron James moving on. Not by any stretch of the imagination. Not now, at least, between now and the beginning of the season. I don't see it.
Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N Brad is calling from Alabama. You on the JR Sport be sure, Brad, what's up? Hey, how you doing this evening? I'm great. What's on your mind?
Well, I just wanted to comment on the um As they say, robo officials that are being tested out tonight and everything. And one thing that did come up in the conversation that I did want to mention is. the officials and referees in all these different sports do a lot that fans and don't see, and that's the game management side of it.
So yeah. in terms of like keeping players from trying back and forth and things escalating and keeping the flow of the game going and everything.
So that's That's one aspect where technology can certainly be embraced For us to be able to correct calls and if there's a big mistake or game changing mistake by official or referee, be able to make that correction. But that gang management side, you're always going to need that human element there because there's never going to be a computer. That's going to be able to keep two players who. during a commercial break or getting up in each other's face. from starting a, you know, throw punches or that sort of thing.
Yeah, no. Excellent point. Good point. And I that that's accurate because Even with all the changes and advances in technology, somebody's going to have to oversee the tech. And as you said, I mean, just last week, a couple of weeks ago, we saw the beef and.
uh between the Padres and and the Dodgers. And well, somebody has to break him up.
Somebody has to go, why are you hitting this guy?
Somebody has to go, you're ejected, you're thrown out.
So, yeah, we'll always have that human element. But that's not to say that technology won't be in increased use. You know, over the next several years, which I think it will be. Hey, Brad, thank you for bringing that up. Appreciate you for calling from Alabama.
Thank you. No doubt about it. It's the JR Sport Ree Show here with you, Coast to Coast on the Infiniti Sports Network. 888-710-4ISN is the number. That's 888-710-4ISN.
We're going to take a break. When we come back on the other side, I'm going to get some more of your calls. I'm going to tell you about Jaquille O'Neal and who he wants to punch in the face. Of course we'll talk about the All-Star game. get into some more baseball.
But right now, what's going on at the All-Star Game? What's going on elsewhere? It's time for a news flash. Here he is, it's Marco Belletti. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief.
It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. Yeah, I'll be the spirit radio animal. Whatever you want to call it, I guess I'll be there. Eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten four. four I S N.
Man, we already got a score here in this all-star game. The National League leads the American League. Two runs to nothing. in the top of the second. The American League is used to going out here smacking around the AL.
And so as long as we're here for the next hour, we got one more hour left in the show. We'll keep you up to date. On what's going on, we had Cattell Marte double. And score Ronald Decunha Jr. and also Shohei Otani.
And so here we have it. Those are your two runs here. By the National League. 888-710-4ISN. I'm going to pick up the phone lines, and obviously, we're going to talk some more baseball.
And then I do want to. bring something to your attention. Shaquille O'Neill. had some scathing words, I can't even say scathing. Shaq had a threat.
For R G three.
Now I've threatened to fight Shaq and he didn't take me seriously. I don't think Shaq is joking with RG3. I'm going to let you hear that in a second. Let's go to Jordan. He's calling from Pittsburgh, PA, home of the Pirates, home of uh Skeens, home of Bob Nutting.
Jordan, you're on the Chair Sport Ree Show. What's up? What's up? LeBron James has to retire. He is unknown.
He is not the same player anymore. All right, well, I mean, it's pretty tough to walk away. When you can drop 25, 8 and 8 in a season and do it over 65 games, you're still one of the best players in the game. Here's the thing. Two and a in the last playoff seasons.
Like he's just not that good anymore. He's a button. How much receding faster? Hands player territories.
Okay. Are we on comedy out, or are we being realistic here? Why can't it be moved? This guy he I just don't like him, he's weird. I'm kind of a bum.
All right. And thank you, Jordan, for calling from Pittsburgh.
Alright. Bacha, that's a prime example of Just trying a little too hard, I think, right? I dunno. He waited on hold for that? Yeah.
Just say LeBron's balding. LeBron is balding. LeBron is a bum. LeBron is not the guy that he used to be. Yeah, I think so.
He's forty-one years old. Yeah.
He's a 41. There's no need to bring it up when you see it. You know, he is losing hair, he's slowing down. It's a general knowledge, but slowing down for LeBron James is still better than 99% of the league. Yeah.
and out here saying, Oh, yeah, yeah, I got you twenty five, eight and eight. What? He's a bum? I I think Yeah, I think ninety nine percent of the guys in the league. Wood would love to be a bum.
with twenty five, eight and eight. They'd be on max deals and would be All Stars out here. Yeah, I don't I don't think I'd expect LeBron James to be flying around a basketball court like he did fifteen years ago. But the guy still f flies around. in his an absolute Genius.
So, no, thank you for the uh Interesting call from Pittsburgh, PA. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I I know you can do better than that. I I don't I love Pittsburgh.
Now that last guy, I know he just wanted to call and be on the radio.
So thank you for calling up. Anyway, speaking of someone who needed to make a dis needed to make a statement. We talked last week. About the comments by R G three. for whatever reason he decided to bring up his issues or You know, Andrew Reese.
So Andrew Reese, let me just go back. It was announced that Angel Reese is a female cover athlete. Mm-hmm. Great, good.
Okay, RG3 found an image online. that wasn't widely distributed until he shared it. Where someone removed Angel Rees and basically put an ape or a monkey in the spot. Basically, saying Angel Reese is a monkey or an ape, which you know is a negative racist trope. for black people.
and so R G three decided to share this, out of the blue and randomly. Saying how much it's disrespectful and black people shouldn't be depicted as apes and whatnot. And then he decided to then say, Oh, yeah, by the way, I know deep down because they told me, her camp told me that she doesn't like Caitlin Clark, she hates Caitlin Clark, she's sick and tired of this. And it's like, why are you doing all this right now? Like one is unrelated to the other.
And why would you dare go out and share something that is so negative that wasn't widely distributed? Until you did so. It was like he was shading her in a very overt way. while trying to position himself as as being um someone who has a moral high ground. It was just backwards.
Like he made his comments about Andrew Reese more than a month ago. Ryan Clark responded to him. And kinda said, Hey, w what right do you even have to to say about this? Even invoked his wife, which he ultimately apologized. R G three's wife is white.
And it was it's just weird from R G three to just say all of this out of nowhere last week. Uh and and just just going a Not a rant. But just Position and put out this soliloquy about racism, but then also tie in Caitlin Clark and how much Angel Reese doesn't like her. It just seemed. It it I can't even say shady.
He was just being a uh a Richard. For the lack of a better term.
Okay, he was being a richer. No disrespect to all the riches out there.
Well, Shaquille O'Neal. He was sitting on a podcast. And Shaq had a response. You might know Shaq went to LSU, Angel Reese went to LSU. Shaq is one of the main investors in rebranding Reebok.
Angel Reese is a Reebok athlete. He brought her in. And so Shaq and Angel Rees have a very good relationship. I want you to listen to what Shaq had to say. about R G three.
No oh, speaking of man, R G three? Tweet tweet another monkey post about my girl injuries and punch in your f face.
Okay. It's enough. Like, I don't usually do stuff like this, but just stop it, bro. You got your job. You got your podcast.
Leave my angel reefs alone. I'm the one calling her and telling her not to respond. Stop it. That's the last time.
Okay. Thank you. It's not real hate. If you look around what's going on in this real country, that's hate. This is sports.
I'm not supposed to like you. It's a shame that all the stuff you did in your life. You're going to be remembered for your podcasts. You're gonna be remembered for your podcast. That should tell you you're not that fing great.
I don't want to be remembered for Shaq's Bit Podcast. I do not. Like Lee those curves alone. You already spoke on it. To go.
So what? He hates us.
So what? I hate you now. We're messing with her.
Now what? Say something about me. But she's not going to respond 'cause I'm the one calling her and be like, baby, keep it classy. 'Cause she's not soft by any means. You're from the streets.
But I'm like, you're beautiful. Don't indulge with these fools 'cause he's a fool. Yeah, it it's just his timing and sharing the messaging and bringing things up where there was nothing in the forefront. It was just. He's odd.
For lack of a better term. Botcha, I last week I called him a jackass, right? You did. Yeah, there you go. He's an odd jackass.
And I think one of the last people that I would want punching me on planet Earth. would be Shaquille Lonio. And so as of I don't know, like now and today, and I think I've seen this. Robert Griffin is in. He's in Europe.
It appears that he's in Estonia or was somewhere in Europe. Uh I don't know if he wants to respond to to Shaq. I don't what is there to respond? If anything, he's going to say something very vague and. Yeah, there's nothing here.
There's no response. Yeah, he posted a positive message earlier today. Pretty much saying trust God's plan for your life. You don't have to understand the path to walk it. Keep the faith and keep going.
I think it's a like there's certain people like Shaq doesn't have anything to lose. I mean, between Shaq, and this is what I think made them so great on TNT, between Shaq and definitely Charles Barkley. There's an expectation that they will do, and or say whatever they want, and Charles Barkley in a whole nother realm. But you're not winning a back and forth with Shaquille O'Neal. And so I would think RG3 will probably be quiet, not respond, and maybe say something else veiled.
Uh in in several months. But I listen, I don't fall shack. You think you botched, you think he's responding to Shaquille O'Neal? I wouldn't if I was him. Is he you'd be an idiot to respond to Shaq?
Yeah, that's not a fight that you want to win. And Shaquille O'Neal, I get it, he wanted to bite back at him. Uh all things considered RG3 Is he well known more so from his media stuff and podcasts than he was for football? We know what type of athlete he was at Baylor. We saw what he did with Washington in his first season.
He had himself. an amazing rookie year. I think he had what 17 touchdowns passing, only five interceptions, you know, rushed a whole bunch on the ground. He had a good year. until Shanahan threw him to the wolves and then we know at that point his body, his knees, were basically cooked.
He was lucky enough to hang on a couple of seasons, I think maybe the pandemic might have been his last year, that or the year after with the Baltimore Ravens. And so people know about his career. And it's unfortunately marred to marred by injury. But is R G three going to be known more so for You know, just I don't know, picking stuff up and and being a jerk online on social media? Yeah.
I I don't know. And Tom will tell for that, but if he keeps saying crazy and wild things, He he's gonna have more to worry about. I I don't want no beef. With Shaquille O'Neal.
Now, do I think Shaq is really going to punch him in the face? No. Do I want the threat of being punched in the face by Shack? I I don't want that either. But R.
G. three he he got the warning shot. He needs to Needs to chill. As simple as that. 888.
seven ten four I S N That's eight eight eight seven ten. four I S N The Major League Baseball All-Star game is still rolling along. We're moving into the bottom of the second. The National League still leads the American League. Two runs to nothing.
We're going to take a break when we come back. I'm going to get to your calls. We'll talk some more baseball. There's a lot more to do. Of course, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.
