We have already had a busy, busy show. It's a gonna be a busy, busy night. We are about thirty to forty minutes away. From the start of game six of the NBA Finals, we're going to have the Oklahoma City Thunder trying to close things out. against the Indiana Pacers.

Oh, that'll be a fun one. And thank you so much to James Herbert for joining us to talk all things NBA, including the finals from CBS. We talked about some of these athletes out here driving all crazy and reckless on the roads. I see you, Shador Sanders. I see you, Zach Eady.

We even heard from Henry Rux. Yeah, he got a. little bit of a reprieve from prison just so he can educate the masses on what it means to uh drive under the influence. CJ Mosley has retired. Travis Kelsey says I don't know about my retirement, His brother says, I probably got CTE.

Andy Reid says, Yeah, we're trying to win another championship. Ace Bailey, he's not even a professional yet. This guy's coming out of Rutgers. He's like, man. I don't gotta work out for no professional teams.

They just gonna draft me. Man, we have so much more to get into. How about this? Amongst all of the championships that have been handed out. Tonight it might be the NBA Championship, the Larry O'Brien, A couple of nights ago we saw The Stanley Cup handed out were given to the Florida Panthers We got the FIFA Club World Cup goin' on.

Yeah, we got some of the best teams on planet Earth participating in the tournament.

Some of the best club teams on Earth here in the United States of America. competing for the the FIFA Club World Cup.

Well, we got a team that's gonna join us. They come to us from South Africa. It's goin' be a lot of fun. The Marmaloti Sundowns. They're going to join us in about twenty or so minutes.

And I want to ask them about coming to America and playing in the States. And we're going to talk to a a couple of their their legends. My man Marsolo from from Chile. He's actively playing. I s I just want to know.

Like what that's like. I Africa is one place I have not been. I need to get to Africa. I want to go to South Africa. I want to go to Tabletop Mountain.

There's a lot of things I want to do. But they have brought South Africa here to the United States of America. As they're participating in the FIFA Club World Cup. Hey, Ibacher, is there a place? I don't care if it's in America or outside of the country.

Is there a place that you really want to visit? I wanted to visit the pyramids in Egypt. That was number one. Or. anywhere in Greece I I'd always had a fascination with Greek mythology when I was a kid, so I wanted to be out there and visit it.

Why why'd you say had? You still alive. Why are you talking in past tense?

Well, no, I'm just saying. Like. What I g I don't Love Greek mythology. I'm not invested in it like I was in the pyramids. I'm not.

big into like okay the and the emperors and all that. Right.

Okay, I'm just asking. I say, well, is there a place that you want to go? And you're talking about like it'll never happen. Ah, I don't know if I see myself going to Greece. Why?

It's not it's bright. It's right over the ocean. It's not that damn far. It's a little bit more. It's right over the ocean.

Anything past the Atlantic? is way too far. That's in Europe.

So, you will not cross the what's the difference? And you're on the east coast. Yeah. ain't that much of a difference between going over the Atlantic versus going on to the west coast. No, there's just a lot more water and then things are different on the in Europe.

I don't know if I'm enough for that cultural shock. Oh, okay. All right.

Well, do listen, Bacha, do it one time. And we're more alike than we are the same. It's a beautiful experience to. To try and be around different things than you're used to. It makes you more of a well-rounded person, it's great.

I'm just when some person starts speaking Greek to me and I'm gonna have no idea what they're saying, that's when it gets a little crazy. I am a black man from America. I have been in China, I have been in Hong Kong, I have been in India.

Okay, I can see that now. Yeah. Okay, like what's the big deal for you to just be like, hey, I'm in Europe. Big fear of being judged. That's the thing.

Bruh. Wa you live in America Why, that's even more of a reason to judge me. No. I you get judged being in America.

Well ain't no big old difference than going to Europe, man. Botcher, do I need to send you on a plane to go to Europe? One-way ticket. I didn't say one way. You just gonna bounce and leave?

No, I'd just be stuck in Europe forever. Ah, no, no, no.

Well, listen, you might go to Europe and absolutely love it. I've loved it in Europe. I've enjoyed it, and some of the best experiences I've ever had in life have taken place outside of the United States of America, and that's amongst all of the great experiences I I've had all over the country.

So we're going to get a little taste of South Africa And the next break, having a chat with the Mamaloti Sundowns. Yeah, you may have never heard of the team. And one of the best top teams coming out of uh South Africa coming out of Africa, and they're here in the United States of America with some of the best teams playing football, the world sport, playing soccer. And so let's have that chat. in about fifteen to twenty minutes.

And Botcher, maybe they'll take you back. I know they're they're on their way to Cincinnati. Uh maybe you can stow away on the plane when they go back to South Africa. Riding the luggage. I got that.

Yeah, people people have done worse, right? Stowaways? I hear st didn't I just saw a story. About a guy who posed as a flight attendant And he was able to travel all over the the world for I don't even know like like a year There there was no ID check or anything? Like, I've heard people hiding in the, like, the, where the wheels come down.

I've heard of that. And oh they're just Yeah. Yeah, if you hardware the wheels uh If you hot over there, you might die. Ah. But yeah, this guy posed as a flight attendant.

Don't ask me, I'm not uh good enough criminal. I'm not a good enough crook. But this guy apparently successfully did it and he was able to travel for quite a while as a result. He would be good in Mission Impossible. That's a guy you need to recruit for those movies.

It's quite possible. Maybe. It it's it's quite possible. Uh I'll Google him in the break. Maybe we can find out the blueprint to how he did it.

Uh not a story that you hear every day. Posing as a flight attendant. All right, this guy did it, posed as a flight attendant and uh and lived quite the life until he was caught, which is a Not always fun. Anyway, eight eight eight seven ten four I S N That's 888-710-4ISNR. There's a lot of things that are fun.

until you get caught. But rich people don't have to worry about that. They do their dirt out in the open, or at least in the secret, And they know they have enough money to not worry about that. And somebody who has a lot of money, doesn't have to worry about a lot of things. Genie Bus.

Because she As the main governor of the Los Angeles Lakers, has sold a majority stake of the team. We talked about this last night to Mark Walter. Who owns well, Guggenheim Partners owns the Dodgers. For ten. billion Dollars.

The Lakers are big time. This is the biggest transaction that we have seen in sports history here in the United States of America. This is the report from CBS as they told us last night. We've got breaking news out of the NBA where the Los Angeles Lakers will have a new majority owner for the first time since 1979. ESPN is reporting that the Buss family is selling their stake in the Lakers to Mark Walter for a valuation of approximately $10 billion.

Walter is the majority owner of the Dodgers and CEO and chairman of TWG Global. He's been a minority owner of LA since 2021 and also holds a stake in the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks. Dr. Jerry Buss purchased the team for just $67.5 million back in 1979 and has overseen 11 NBA championships in LA. It's kinda wild.

sixty seven million And yeah, his children get to reap the benefits, but $10 billion. Apparently, the family still owned 67% of the team. It will now be down to 15% after the sale, and you can bet you're behind it's going to be approved. All of the other NBA owners and the commissioner who works for the owners, everybody's happy at this valuation. The Boston Celtics moved for only a measly $6 billion.

And apparently, even Genie Buss, who is no longer the majority owner, she's still going to be the voting governor on behalf of the team.

Now, I'm not going to put all that much stock into that. Because we heard kinda similar when it came down to Mark Cuban. It was Mark Cuban is going to sell the Dallas Mavericks, and the next thing you know, he's still going to run basketball operations. And we just saw what happened a couple of months ago. with Luka Doncich.

That meant and means a whole lot of Nothing. And so as it stands right now, the Los Angeles Lakers are the highest value team in North American sports history. They're moving from a mom-and-pop type model to being owned by a team that is spending hand over fist with the Los Angeles Dodgers. And so you would think that the Lakers. things are going to be on the up and up for this team.

And Brian Winhorst, he was on ESPN and he pretty much said that other NBA teams they should be worried about this acquisition. The modernization of the Lakers is about to come. And if I were another team, I would not think this is a great development. I think the Lakers are only going to get more dangerous as an organization with the more resources that are, you know, theoretically here about to be poured into it. I mean the modern NBA with their current CBA where you acquire stars and you gotta pay stars and you can't pay stars and then you can't bring on other stars and then you're gonna be taxed for it and you tran can't trade guys Is it really an advantage?

That much of an advantage for the Los Angeles Lakers? I think not. I mean, it was just a couple of months ago. that we looked at the Boston Celtics and said, Man, they're just going to win a few championships And maybe they get rid of Porzingis, and maybe they get rid of Holiday, but they still have Brown and Tatum. But injuries can can change a lot.

This is a wild situation for the Lakers. People have always wanted to go to L A. The magics, the careems, the chamberlains, the shacks, the kobe's, it attracts I don't think the Los Angeles Lakers need any more help. Damn it, I didn't even mention LeBron James. But is this gonna have a major impact on the Lakers?

I I'm not so sure. Like yeah, this this is not baseball Where there is no salary cap. This is not baseball where you can just spend, you know, hand over fists to get whatever you want, however you want. We're in a wild space, man. Gilbert Arenas, who you know he does his own show, he says some crazy things.

He made some jokes about the Los Angeles Lakers being sold. Listen to this. I want to say congratulations, Ginny Buss, but as selfish as I am, $7 billion, that means he's about to raise the prices to get it back. Can you just hold on for about. 12 minutes so I can renew my tickets at the price that you have them at.

Because I know the person who spends seven billion dollars nosebleeds about to be five, six, hundred dollars to go see Luca and LeBron.

Okay, so just hold off for about twenty. 22 minutes, so I can get it in, but congratulations again. I'm still gonna be a Lakers fan. Right? Because it don't cost me nothing from home.

I can still watch the game from home. But I wanna I wanna s s s So just Just a tab bit. Hold on, Lake Amesia. We gotta act fast. All that money that Gilbert Arenas robbed.

from the Washington Wizards, he's worried about the ticket prices. Like, come on now Ticket price will be fine. Staples Center or Crypto.com Arena, whatever dumbass name it has today, that place will be filled. Laker fans will be losing their minds. And so, is this good for the Lakers?

Yes, you have stability. And as we just had this conversation with James Herbert, there will be an infusion of cash. Behind the scenes, but overall, when it comes to the outwardness of the league, man, there's so many rules that pretty much prevent you. From building a Kevin Durant, Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Clay Thompson, Super Team. Like, it's prohibitive now.

And if you are going to go ahead and build one of those teams, you better do it. You better hope it works. Otherwise, you're screwed. You could end up like the Phoenix Suns. You could end up like the Philadelphia Seventy Sixers.

Man, the New York Knicks, they swung big time and said, Oh, we're just gonna bring these guys in. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. The Knicks are kinda screwed as well unless they flip one of their players for another one. And so I'm happy for the Los Angeles Lakers, but I'm not so sure that this is automatically going to catapult them. towards a championship.

because their owner he cannot go out there and spend, Like it's the Los Angeles Dodgers. That's not the way the NBA is built.

Now for the league and whole. I think this is good. I think the NBA will look at this and go, wait a minute.

Now we can add an expansion franchise or two, and make more money. We can charge more money for somebody to come in and, quote unquote, buy a team. We now have more money to expand our revenue in television contracts and sharing. If I'm an NBA owner, I'm thrilled that the Los Angeles Lakers were just sold for $10. billion Dollars.

This is a beautiful thing, all across the board, for the business of the NBA. Let's go ahead and get that team in Las Vegas. Let's go ahead and bring a team back to Seattle. Abacha, what team should they add in the East? I don't know.

None, right? None? Because you got to add two, right? To keep it easy. Yeah.

Kansas City, do you put Kansas City in the east on 'em? No. Nashville? Yeah, I don't know. Nashville.

I don't know. They have a good fan base for hockey, and Nashville's, you know, popular. Oh, man. I don't know about that. Uh.

Damn, where would you put a team in the East?

Nowhere, I don't know. I don't know. Kansas City, you got to put a team in Kansas City. They got an arena. Uh.

Wells, who's missing a team in the East? Damn, nowhere. New England get a second Boston team? Oh my gosh. A two Boston team?

Where would you put it in? Two Connecticut? You do. Uh I could do Pittsburgh maybe. Oh, oh, okay, all right, I guess.

The Pittsburgh B's? I have no idea. I don't know. We're on a little bit of a run there. All I know is that eventually we are going to have a team in Vegas, and Seattle is going to get the Supersonics back, which I appreciate.

And the fact that the Lakers were just sold for $10 billion will certainly help. Uh, in that regard, and it's kind of crazy. I'm not going to say never trust a billionaire. You should probably never trust a lot of people. It doesn't matter what the hell is going on.

Genie Buss Just two years ago in twenty twenty three, She was on Grand Bessinger's show. And s she said she could never see herself selling the Los Angeles Lakers. Oh my God, what happened in two years? Do you ever see a scenario where the Lakers aren't in your family? I can't imagine that.

That's not the way it should be.

So like, and there's really no reason? for the team not to be. Yeah, well, n now the team is not. I mean, damn it, Mark Walter already had about thirty per cent of the franchise, and now he's going to be the majority owner. And so, I guess, in her perspective, only having 15% of the organization.

is having enough. Wow. The Lakers move $10 billion. It's going to work out for them, but this has major implications for the rest of the league, just not when it comes to players and their salaries. I think it has a bigger issue when it comes down to expansion.

I think people are going to be eating that one up. The Lakers sold for ten bill. If Jerry Jones ever woke up and said, I'm done with the Cowboys, How much would the Cowboys go for? What ain't moving for twelve. Thirteen?

I don't think we'll ever find that one out. I think Jerry Jones is too old. I think he's too senile. That man is not moving that. Team, you can go ahead and throw that one on out the window.

It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you, coast to coast, on the Infinity Sports Network. Man, Speaking of championships, now we're about thirty eight minutes away From tip-off game six of the NBA Finals between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Indiana Pacers. We just had the conclusion of the Stanley Cup finals. The Panthers come out on top over the Edmonton Oilers. And I told you, we have the FIFA Club World Cup going on right here in the United States of America.

We're going to take a break. When we come back, we'll talk about another championship. But this time, we'll talk to an organization coming to us. From South Africa. They're here in the United States of America.

Broaden your horizons. We're going to have a chat. with the Mamaloti Sundowns as they try to win the FIFA Club World Cup. That coming to you on the other side, yeah, JR is getting very international. Get your passport ready and don't stow away here on the Infinity Sports Network.

You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It's the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. We know we got the NBA Finals still rolling on. We got the NHL Stanley Cup finals that just finished up. But here in the United States of America, we got a big deal taking place across 11 cities all over the USA.

It is the FIFA Club World Cup. And right now, I'm being joined by a couple of gentlemen from one of the teams that are participating in the Club World Cup. The Mamalodi Sundowns from South Africa. We're being joined by Marcelo Allende, current player and legend Lomfo Kikana. Gentlemen, how y'all doing?

We're good. How are you, Jab? I'm good. And I know you coming off of a victory that first time, the first match, I know y'all feel real good, huh? Of course, this gentleman here next to me did the business.

Absolutely.

Well, let me ask you this, Marcelo. You're playing right now. How does it feel to be stateside in this tournament? No, of course, happy. And I think it's important.

Start. We three point in talf group so I think we started with the right feed and we are here ready for the next one. Yeah, I know you guys got you got Barusia up next. We'll get into that in a minute. Longfo, when you take a look at this tournament, I know you played for the Sundowns.

You're a legend still working with the team. What does it mean for the Sundowns to be a part of this tournament here in the States? It's a big one. You know, these boys here, I always say they are the current generation that deserve to be in this tournament a lot, simply because of their good brand of football that they continue to showcase in our continent. They missed out on a big final, which I believe they deserved it.

Yeah, in the US now with a big championship tournament where I believe they are selling the product of what South African football is about. And luckily for us, we've got a different background. Marcelo here, South American boy who likes to play the way the Mamlu Sandans plays. And you can tell that he's now comfortable enjoying his football.

Now, if you saw the match last week, you can tell that this is a team that has played together. But it's a big one. I'm happy for them that they managed to be in this space and maybe rub shoulders with the best teams in the world. Yeah, Lomfo Kekana is joining us. Marcelo Allende from the Mamaloti Sundowns competing here in the FIFA Club World Cup.

I love this, Lomfo, because of what you just said. Here we have Marcelo, who's from Chile. He's played in Uruguay. He's played all over the world. He's from Chile.

He's playing for a South African team. He's here in the United States of America. Football is bringing everybody together. Marcelo, what is your favorite part right now about being in the USA? No, stay here for for this for this team representing the country the the continent For me, that is a privilege.

I'm feeling so proud for. with my family of core and and for my teammate. I'm too happy to be here. And show what Mamilode Sundown is doing in the continent because.

Some some people didn't know what what we're doing in Africa. This type of tournament is so important, and I think it's very nice to be here and play against big teams and The base of And the world. Absolutely.

And Lomfo, man, for a native like you to play for the Sundowns. What are you hoping that everybody in the States learns about the Sundowns and the sport of football in general? I think uh one thing that uh Sundance is bringing here is humility that within the club, as you say, we have different nationales in our team. We've got a Brazilian, two Brazilian boys in our team, Macero and Maestro, I call him Maestro in the Med Pel. We've got other nationals that are in our team, and that tells you that football will always bring people together.

The tournament itself is based on so many countries together in one nation. And that tells you that we are here just to celebrate what football is about. And that's one thing that excites me to see a different background and to learn about what we are about as people. And I think the world right now, they need our love, they need our smile, they need what we bring here as people. And this tournament here is good also to the organizers, of course, you know, for bringing such a tournament, you know, to make it even 32 teams to compete for one trophy.

That is a big, big, big won for us. Oh, it's a big, big deal. It's crazy. The Sundowns are here with us on the JR Sport Re Show, Coast to Coast, on the Infinity Sports Network, to come over from South Africa. To now be in the United States of America, start in Florida, make it out to Cincinnati to play a big German team.

This is amazing. Marcelo, I'm going to let you get close to the last word. What do you want people to learn and see about the Sundowns? People who are learning about you today and right now, what do they need to know?

Well, I think we show in the first the first game the idea what the the clubs Top We like of course a lot of the a lot of the position the ball you know Well now I think we're more more aggressive on in the offensive part to have a good player in this zone. I think our strength is the possession ball, and we enjoy when we have the ball, you know.

Well, it's looking amazing. And Longfo, former player, active current legend. Tell everybody where they can keep up with the Mommy Lodi Sundowns, regardless of whether they're listening in California, here in Atlanta, Cincinnati, New York. Where can people follow the team, man? We've got the Mammoth Sundowns TV on YouTube.

If you follow that, you will get exclusive news about the team. And of course, we've got socials. You can hit us on X and Instagram as well as Facebook. We've got all the information about the club. Of course, we are here in the States.

Today we're flying to Cincinnati to meet up Borussia Dotmont. We'll be in Miami for the match against the Brazilians.

So that is what we're about, especially here in the U.S. We love it. And we will change the accent soon. We will be speaking like you, JR.

Well, listen, I'm going to have to make my way on down to South Africa and just hang out with y'all. I need that experience.

So I appreciate you, Marcelo. I appreciate you, Lomfa. Thank you guys so much, okay? Very a pleasure, man. Thank you so much.

Good luck against some of the other best teams in the world. It's the JR Sport Re Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinity Sports Network. There's so much excitement around the FIFA Club World Cup. We're going to take a break when we come back.

Well, we're going to get into some more NBA action. And right now, it's time for a new splash with Rich. Acroman. You're listening to the JR Sport Brief. It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you coast to coast on the Infinit Sports Network.

Man, thank you so much to the The sundowns The Mama Latti Sundowns for joining us. from South Africa. even though they're right now here in the United States of America tryin' to win the FIFA. Club World Cup. to uh Marcelo, Alande for joining us, Lomfo, que Cana.

As they are, and it just gotta be cool. They're like, hey, we're coming from South Africa, we're gonna play in America, we're gonna start in Florida. We're going to go to Cincinnati, we're going to play Barusia Dortmund. Like in another world I'm too lazy to do it. But in another world I I just need to wake up and be a footballer.

They just travel around kicking the ball and it's just It is an international language l international language unlike uh any other. to be in that that space.

So yeah, we got all these championships going on. The Florida Panthers won their title, the Stanley Cup. Tonight. The Thunder might win their championship. Valerie O'Brien, and then we got the FIFA Club World Cup going on here in the United States of America until the middle of July.

And so make sure you go ahead and check that out. If you want to check me out, if you want to call me, you can. Here's the phone number: it is 888-888. seven ten four I S N. That's 888 710 for I S N.

You can find me everywhere. I'm online at JR Sport Brief. Uh, Botcher, did any of that conversation change your mind? You you want to go overseas now? I'll go overseas.

It seems fun. It seems like it's a good group of people on their team doing the sundowns. Oh, the sundowns. Oh, yeah, they sound fun. I mean, you got one guy we spoke to who's from Chile, the other guy's from South Africa.

Now, Botch, I gotta tell you. A little bit longer of a flight. as opposed to going to Europe to go to South Africa a little bit longer, okay? Eh, that's fine. The flight length doesn't bother me.

It's just getting over the ocean, getting acclimated to the culture. Oh, okay. All right.

People are people.

Okay, I mean People are people. Bacha, they use the bathroom, they eat food, okay? I mean, and that's the the brunt of being a person. Sleep, eat. Bathroom.

Got it. Yeah, sleep, eating, yeah, you know what? Real simple. Not that complicated. Hey, shout outs to everybody with the sundowns for joining us in the last break.

Hey, we are already under way. Game six. of the NBA Finals. And even though they've only played a few seconds, guess who has some points? Cyrus Halliburton.

Yeah. This man is playing of course he is. He has made a one free throw. Uh and the Pacers have uh one point on the board, OKC. Uh with two of 'em.

OKC leading the paces 2-1. They play 30 seconds.

So a slow pace here. for these two teams. And we'll keep you up to date as this game continues on. And yes, of course, Tyrese Halliburton is in action. He is on The basketball court here for the Indiana Pacers.

Not too surprised, not too shocked about that. We knew that he was going to go out there and give it the old college try. We all just hope that he doesn't have one of these massive injuries that just changes the trajectory, not just of this upcoming season, I'm talking about October, but of his career.

So you got to be real careful with that. But if he was really going to endanger himself that much I don't think he'd be out there. And if he is that much of a danger to himself, Tyrese Halliburton will not be out there. Long.

So I'm not going to worry about that too much. And speaking of injuries and guys returning from injury, we learned earlier today. that Shohei Otani, who made his debut Pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He's back. He gon' be back again on Sunday.

It was only on Monday that Shohei O Tani, Pitch for the Dodgers. took on the Padres, went out there and beat them six to three. Shohei only pitched one inning, twenty eight pitches, sixteen strikes. He did get his fast ball velocity up to one hundred miles per hour. He'll be back.

We don't know if he's going to go out there and give you two innings, or we don't know if he's going to give you two. Three, you would think that, of course, the Dodgers are going to take their time and stretching them out. The man has had two Tommy John surgeries. He's, well, he's a $700 million pitcher. Like Take your time.

There's no need to rush Shohei Otani. This is what Dave Roberts told everybody about us expecting Otani back on the mound. against Washington.

So Yama tomorrow, and then Dustin will go on or Clayton will go on It's Friday, and then Dustin will go on Saturday, and then Sho's going to pitch on Sunday. And so that's kind of how we're going to do it. Whoop dee do. Ye nope no grand proclamation. Not rolling out the red carpet.

For show he o' Tanny, But every time you learn he's gonna pitch is like it's it's an event. I mean, even the game that he pitched on Monday, the guy was out there for one inning. but he still batted. And he basically He had two RBIs, including the RBIs at the end of the game to ultimately win the Dodgers the game. Shohei Otani.

is prime time. And, Botcha, I know you weren't a fan of seeing him out there for one inning. What do you think we're going to get on Sunday? Two innings. Two innings?

Is he on a. What's his pitch count? You're not letting him go past what? 50? 40?

50? I'd say 45. Because he threw like 27 close to 30 the first time. Yeah. Wow.

And so if you if you were them, you you wouldn't even have him out there at all, huh? No, just keep him in the back and throw to people who are in the minor leagues. In the back? Yeah, like the back the backfields. As they'd say.

But w is there any th you pl you played baseball. Is there anything comparable to like live action, like live batters? No, right? Unless you actually sell them to like Triple A, which they'd never do. Yeah, there's nothing really comparable.

Yeah, so wouldn't it make sense for him to get a couple of innings of live batters out there as opposed to like some some uh you know bums out and outfit, like, what are we doing? It's a little it's it's all about the philosophy. Because sometimes if your pitcher is trying to work on things and they give up six runs, you're gonna lose a game. But it's the Dodgers, they're good enough, they can cover up the mistakes.

Well, they they have the luxury of having him protected out there.

So I I like the strategy surrounding Shohi Otani. And of course, everything Los Angeles is in the news right now between the Lakers sale for ten billion dollars to the guy who owns the Los Angeles Dodgers, even Dave Roberts got in on the action. Or or dare I say Dave Roberts got in on the comedy. We know that there's going to be a lot of collaborations between the Lakers and the Dodgers and marketing opportunities and whatnot. Dave Roberts said.

The Lakers cannot have Shohei Otani. I guess if he played in the NBA he'd be a point guard. He said they can't have him. Show your space on In a Laker Jersey, and would your message to their fans be hands-off? Yeah, yeah, I don't think.

Right, yes, that's my message, hands off of Show Hate. Yeah, they got enough superstars whatever. Leave them alone. I know his wife is, but I don't actually know he be. I think Hachimura is taking care of the Japanese stuff.

Thanks. He's got that. That show handling this. You know, it is it's it is a crazy thing to think about. Botcher, if Shohei played basketball Given his size as a baseball player, Shaw Hey Otani is gigantic.

What is he like, six foot four? What do you gotta be? Two thirty, two forty? The guy is a tank, he's a truck. But if we put Shohei Otani, on the basketball court.

He'd barely pass as a. He's smaller than. He's 6'3, 6'10. That's his listed. Size.

I think he's a little heavier than that. He he'd barely be a point guard in the NBA. But he he'll be a br like a brute. He'd be bumpin' and grindin' the paint. What, Mark Jackson?

Yeah, physical. Raymond Felton. Oh, oh well he's taller than Felton.

Well, Raymond Felton was fat. They're a lil little different there. Yeah, Shohi Otani would be a point. That's crazy. Shohi Otani is just a giant.

This is the baseball is so crazy. Shawheil Tani looks like a giant when you watch the Dodgers play. And then you have Aaron Judge, who is four inches taller, and probably fifty to sixty pounds heavier than Shohei Otani. Aaron Judge is kind of in a league of his own. Shohei Otani is just a massive, gigantic freak in and of himself.

And they're making jokes about Shohei playing for the Lakers. And he might be one of the smallest dudes on the damn team. I do you've Baseball is an interesting sport. You can have the David Ortiz of the world. The David Wells of the world, guys with beer bellies and Skinny guys and heavy guys, guys that don't run, guys who can't run, like John Carlos Stanson.

Baseball is special. Come one, come all all shapes and sizes. Ah now we'll say this. I think it's changed a little bit. I would say the majority of Major League Baseball players They're in better shape than than errors past Mean we had guys out here throwing perfect games.

while hung over I'm not going to go far as as far as to say drunk, but definitely hung over. like a like a David Wells. We had Tony Gwen, one of the greatest hitters of all time, he was so fun to watch, made it look so easy. Tony Gwynn, by the time he got to the end of his career, Man, all I saw was Belly in the World series. That's it.

Like, I don't botcher do we we don't have too much of that now. There's no No lazy fat guys running around today, no? I wouldn't say any of them are lazy. They're all. Like, though some of them might have some extra pounds, they're all in shape and are probably really, really athletic that you'd never even imagine.

Or portly is the world, Por portly is the word. Who's the best Fat baseball player right now. You can't even think of one. Oof. Like, okay.

There's like Rowdy Tales is probably the biggest guy I know off the top of my head. But even still there's like different ti there's pitchers. There's DHs, there's first basic. But but a picture is easy to look at. like the last great fat pitcher I could think of.

It's Bartolo Colon. Would you disagree? Like he's the last fat great pitcher. CC was up there too. Uh yeah, you're right.

Uh C C got th but see, here's the thing. Is Cece Sabathia lost weight? Dude Bartolo. They're they're both pretty pretty skinny right now. I'm not talking about right now.

I'm talking about as they played? Yeah. Yeah. Bartolo. stayed big.

As Cece got smaller and then he, you know, his weight his knees were hurting, he he lost the weight. Bartolo Colon was portly and round, and stayed round. until his career ended. Yeah, that's a good idea. What what is it?

I was gonna say that the mass equals gas, as they say.

So the more weight you can throw harder. Even though Bartello was only throwing like eighty eight. I don't know. I know he was. Bartolo Colón was nothing but comedy.

But from a batter's perspective. Then we have a there was a Korean gentleman. He was out there. Was it Hongman Troy or something like that? Injun Ryu?

Yeah, there we go. Was he played for the Rays? No, he played for the Dodgers, Blue Jays. and one more team and then well, and the Dodgers and Blue Days and he's he's back in, uh, Korea or Japan. Yeah, but wasn't there another there was a Korean gentleman on the race too.

He was kinda fat. It's not coming to me. Give me a couple minutes. No, it's fine. It's listen, there's more than one uh uh portly Korean gentleman that comes over.

Why not? I don't know. I think the baseball players nowadays, maybe it's because they only got one job. back in the day, It's like, Hey, I play baseball. What you doing in the off season?

I don't I don't know. Uh working at the steel mill, uh delivering mail. Uh you would think delivering mail in the heat would make you lose weight, but uh You never know. Shout outs to the baseball players that are out there getting it. Shohayotani, you don't have to worry about that.

I don't think that guy has to worry about a pound in his damn Life. And the next time we'll see him in action on the mound will be this upcoming Sunday against the Washington Nationals.

So pay close attention. Every time Shaw Hay Otani steps out onto the mound, it is, well, It's an adventure. An adventure in the making. It's the JR Sport Re Show here with you, Coast to Coast, on the Infinity Sports Network, 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISS.
