It is the JR Sport Brief Show here with you on the Infinity Sports Network. I'm coming to you live from Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to everybody for being locked in all over North America. Everybody in their vehicles, people at home, people at work, people holding it down. Whatever you might be doing, thank you for being here.
You got options. I appreciate you. I'll be hanging out with you for the next two hours. This show gets started every weekday at 6 p.m. Eastern. I get going at 3 Pacific.
I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. Thank you to our producer in New York, Chris Persianin. And thank you again for being here. We've already had a full show. We talked about that disaster that the Timberwolves had last night, losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder. They are now one game away from elimination.
We are minutes away from tip-off in Indianapolis as the Pacers try to go up 3-1 against the New York Knicks. We talked about the fact that John Halliburton will be back in the arena for the first time. Well, since he went up to Giannis and taunted him and then apologized and then said that he didn't taunt him.
Whatever. Kirk Cousins is not at work. Aaron Rodgers, it appears that he's refusing to work. He doesn't want to show up until he absolutely has to. James Cook wants to be paid.
He's not at work. Joey Bosa went to work and, well, he strained his calf already. What a shock.
What a surprise. We had a great chat with Scott Doctorman. Covers all things college football for the athletic as the SEC and the Big Ten tried to readjust the college football playoff again.
Maybe even break away from the NCAA. If you missed that conversation with Scott Doctorman, go ahead and hit rewind on the free Odyssey app. Now we talked about Kaitlyn Clark right before we went to break as well.
What a disaster that Kaitlyn Clark is now out for a couple of weeks with a quad injury. That stinks. Hey, you want to be a part of the show?
You can do that. Here's the number 888-710-4ISN. That's 888-710-4ISN. You can find me online. I am everywhere at JR Sport Brief. Hey, as the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers, as they get ready to start Game 4 of their matchup and their series, we will keep you up to date on that game as, well, I'm happy at this point in time.
I'm sitting here in the studio. Maybe I missed it. Maybe I haven't. I have yet to see one shot of Halliburton's dad, which is good. And maybe we go through the entire night. Maybe they just verbally mentioned John Halliburton. But the way that the world works, we're going to get a shot of him. We'll get John Halliburton sitting up in a suite. They'll go ahead and throw his mug up so he can be plastered across the internet. And yeah, well, I'm on John Halliburton watch.
As much as I don't want to see him, I'm very interested to see how they'll go about producing this now that Halliburton's dad is allowed back into the arena. Let me tell you the number again. 888-710-4ISN.
That's 888-710-4ISN. You know, amongst all the talk, as we got 20 teams in the NFL that have started OTAs. I told you about guys who didn't show up, guys who want new contracts. James Cook wants a deal with the Buffalo Bills. TJ Watt didn't show up today for the Pittsburgh Steelers. He wants a new contract.
It was damn time flies. It was just like last week that we talked about something else football related, but it doesn't have anything to do with the 2025 season. That's the deal with 2028, the Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and Roger Goodell making the announcement that NFL players in the league will be involved. The owners came up with rules where one guy from each team can participate and an international player from each team could go and represent his home country.
And there is so many more logistics that have to get worked out. But just over the past year, we've seen Jalen Hurts be an ambassador for the Summer Olympics, which is great. Patrick Mahomes and Joe Burrow are guys who talked about wanting to compete. Jamar Chase spoke to the media today and he pretty much said, I'm not so sure that I want to compete, you know, in the Olympics.
And then we had someone else who was standing right next to Roger Goodell. He made it very clear that he wants to be one of these NFL players who will be out there in Los Angeles. And that happens to be Justin Jefferson. He basically said, I love how this is expanding the game. I love the fact that I could win a gold medal. He's like, this is a dream come true.
I want you to take a listen to Justin Jefferson from last week. To be honest, I'm just a loss of words. You know, it's just seeing the amount of kids that are really involved in this sport, seeing the women and men being involved and seeing it now being on a global stage is something that's so special. And to, I mean, even though it's, you know, three years down the line and then they're still planning and who's going to be on the team and all. But, you know, just think about the chances of, you know, playing in the Olympics and, you know, getting a gold medal is a dream. Yeah.
I mean, if you can be at the top of your field and you can walk away with a gold medal, like who, who wouldn't want that? Okay, sure. Fine. But there's a guy that I didn't hear about this man until the first time last year. Had no idea who he was.
His name is Daryl Doucette. And he probably heard of him over the past several weeks. Maybe you heard about him for the first time like I did last year. This man led the flag football national team for America to a gold medal at the 2022 World Games. I had no idea any of this existed until last year.
Now, well, let me go back. Now that we have and know that NFL players will participate, now that we know it's been voted on and approved by the NFL owners, we just have to wait on the actual structure. And I'm sure we'll get there sooner than later. We don't know the process for people to try out. We haven't gotten there. This is the first time that we're going to have flag football at the Olympics.
This is in 2028. Well, Daryl Doucette was back in the news here over the weekend. And he pretty much said that guys who have already participated in flag football, that they deserve an opportunity. He was talking with Adam Kilgore from the Washington Post. He said, that's all we want. We felt like we work hard to get the sport to where it's at. And then when the NFL guys spoke about it, it was like we were getting kicked to the side.
I felt like I was the guy who could speak out for my peers, for my brothers that's been working hard to get to this level for us not to be forgotten. And if you don't recall what he said last year, I want you to take a listen to this courtesy of TMZ. At the end of the day, I feel like I'm better than Patrick Mahomes because of my IQ of the game. I know he's right now the best in the league. I know he's more accurate. I know he has all these intangibles, but when it comes to flag football, I feel like I know more than him.
Well, he certainly has more experience. He got ripped to shreds for saying that last year. And I don't want to say justifiably so, but when you say that God bless Patrick Mahomes for, I don't even think he responded to the guy. Why would he?
What is there to say? Darryl Doucette is 5'7". He weighs 140 pounds. I get it. It's flag football. I don't. Is he durable enough to even fall on the ground if somebody rips the flag or not?
This is just the nature of the beast. And he says he got flag football. Him and his peers got flag football to where it is. So, you know, the NFL players could now participate in it.
I don't think so. The NFL has been going international for years. I don't think he has too much of a leg to stand on.
And ultimately, everything and everybody's about making money. And the most that people know about Darryl Doucette isn't because of anything that he's ever done on the flag football field. It's because he says he's a better flag football player than Patrick Mahomes. Whether that could be true or not, he's not going to get the chance of the opportunity to go out there and do so. And when you think about some of the names and players who have expressed an interest, Joe Burrow, Patrick Mahomes, Tyreke Hill says he'd be interested.
I don't know. Maybe we have a mix of both amateurs and pros. I would think playing flag football, you know, you'd really lend yourself more towards quarterbacks who do want to run. If I'm the Kansas City Chiefs, if I'm a Chiefs fan, do I want to see Patrick Mahomes in the Olympics? Do I want to see him juking and darting and running around and people chasing him? I don't care if you can't tackle the guy.
Do I want to see the risk? You know what's worse than that? They're talking about Tom Brady for being quarterback of the flag football team.
She's talking about mobility. What are we doing? Who's they? This was in the news the other day. Lots of reports circling that Tom Brady, you know, is being spoken about as an option for the flag football Olympics.
I'll find a source for you in two seconds. Tom Brady is going to... How old is he? What is he? He got to be what, 40? Was he going to be 50 by then?
Yeah, 50. Yeah, Tom Brady, nah, that's a waste of time. Nobody's sick about Tom. Tom Brady is not getting his old ass up to play flag football. Let's put some college guys out there.
Put a mix. You know, let's have a mix of some of the skill position pros. Let's get some young quarterbacks out there. I understand the NFL wanting to market its players on a global level. I don't want to say that they're just throwing them to the wolves and are prepared to just go, well, let's just see what happens. God forbid, and I don't want to say I feel strongly about this, every four years are they going to do this?
We don't know. I mean, they bring sports in and out the Olympics. I mean, we had breakdancing in the last Olympics in Paris.
We are not going to have no damn breakdancing in Los Angeles. But as an overall, everybody knows there's a good possibility, unfortunately, that an NFL player could get hurt out there. Because this is flag football. You ain't dropping back, you know, you ain't bombs away, offensive line this. It's like Lamar Jackson on steroids.
You get a guy who gets the ball. Lamar Jackson would be great out there at flag football, the way he cuts, the way he moves around, his acceleration. But I mean, if I'm a Ravens fan, do I want to see Lamar Jackson playing flag football? Or would I rather see Daryl Doucette out there?
It's like, hey, let him go do it. You know, he's not going to be quarterbacking my NFL team come September, October, November, December, hopefully maybe to a Super Bowl. And so I certainly believe, I hope that we have a mix of players. How they go about the selection process is to be determined.
We have no idea how this is going to work. But Justin Jefferson obviously wants to play. Jalen Hurts has been an advocate and an ambassador.
I think he might be the lead ambassador. He's in all the commercials advocating for NFL players to participate in the Olympics. So we got a guy from flag football.
He's like, hey, I'm better than Patrick Mahomes at this. Give me my chance. Give me my opportunity.
And I say, as an NFL fan, forget a fan of any individual team. Let him go out there and try. It's as simple as that. Let him go out there and try. Little worried about the NFL players getting busted up. We'll see what happens. I guess we got to wait until 2028. But the idea of Tom Brady? Hell no. Tom Brady is not throwing a football in a competitive any.
What is this? To just give Tom Brady a gold medal? Is this what we're trying to do? So I found that it was Yahoo Sports saying an insider revealed that Tom Brady was considering returning to football to lead Team USA in their quest for gold. And the quote, I mean, the quote makes sense, but also it kind of ignores the fact that he's 50 saying, speaking exclusively to the Daily Mail, the source said he wants a gold medal and what better way to remain the goat and return to the sport he loves than helping his country win gold? Man, what's he going to do? Just stand there like a statue?
At 50 years old? I mean, Eli Manning beat him twice doing the same thing. So we'll see. We're not talking about NFL football. And we're not talking about things that took place at this point almost 15 and 20 years ago.
We're talking about a 50 year old man. Just stay your ass at home. Well, go work on Fox. I was going to say, not making enough money from the broadcasting, the $375 million deal? So I say, well, stay at home. Do TV. I'd be surprised.
I mean, we get a lot of news. People report this and people say that and people, I don't, I'm not going to put too much stock into seeing Tom Brady playing at the Olympics. Like, sometimes you got to give it up and let other people go out there. Go run the Raiders and call it a day. Let down, I'd rather see Daryl Doucette out there playing football, playing flag football. This is what this man wants to do.
Then throwing out a 50 year old Tom Brady, who at that point hasn't moved physically and in a competitive environment. And at this point, I guess we're going to pull up, shoot, maybe about six or seven years? No, no, thank you. And good luck to Daryl Doucette. And good luck to everybody. Go, go put the teams together, make it a mix.
Why not? It's the JR Sportbree show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. We're going to take a break. When we come back, I don't think this guy's going to be at the Olympics.
I mean, forget 2028, forget Los Angeles. We're trying to figure out where he is going to be playing in the NFL next season. I'm talking about Jalen Ramsey. This man was supposed to be traded. Well, NFL draft came and went, he's still on the Miami Dolphins. And we'll get into that. You thought Kirk Cousins was the only dude waiting on a trade?
Jalen Ramsey had some social media activity that teased that he might be on the move as well. We'll get into that on the other side. Give you an update on the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers. We have so much more to do. It's the JR Sportbree show, coast to coast.
We're going to get more to do. It's the JR Sportbree show coast to coast on the infinity sports network. It is the JR Sportbree show here with you on the infinity sports network. New York Knicks and Indiana, they playing it close. Pacers currently lead 25-24. A lot of offense in this one. A five minutes to go here in the first quarter.
Yeah, we may get 30-35 points here in the first depending on how things go the rest of this quarter. We'll keep you up to date. This is also a great time to tell you about the defensive player of the week sponsored by the Navy Federal Credit Union. Proudly celebrating all who go above and beyond during military appreciation month.
Learn more at Navyfederal.org slash celebrate. As we think about it right now, we'll see not too much defense being played in this game. But last night, as we talked about the Thunder going over the Wolves 128-126. Chet Holmgren, he went out there. He was playing some defense. We know about offensively putting up 21 points. He also had three blocks and a steal. Mr. Jalen Williams who dropped 34 points also chipped in defensively had three steals as well. Oklahoma City Thunder utilizing that defense to try to close out these Minnesota Timberwolves.
That is or those were your defensive players of the week sponsored by the Navy Federal Credit Union. Not too much defense here. Indiana leading 28-24. Four minutes and change.
A little less than five minutes to go here in the first quarter. Speaking of defense, just to move from the hardwood back to the football field rather quickly. And no, not flag football.
We're talking about people knocking the living hell out of each other. With everybody showing up, not showing up for work today, some of these NFL players. Jalen Ramsey's name was kind of thrown about into the news today as well. Yeah, you know Jalen Ramsey. Three-time All-Pro. Started his career with the Jacksonville Jaguars back in 2016. Seven-time Pro Bowler.
Ended up with that Rams team going to the Super Bowl. Then got moved over to the Miami Dolphins. And we heard a couple weeks ago that the Miami Dolphins are ready to move off of him. He's owed 21 million dollars in 2025.
He signed through 2028. And earlier today, just kind of randomly because why the hell not? Jalen Ramsey just tweeted out a number. Five. That's it.
Nothing else. Just five because everybody loves to be cryptic and loves to send messages without saying things and sending subliminal messages and whatnot. Five. And so what's the significance of five when it comes to Jalen Ramsey? Well, apparently, if the Miami Dolphins trade him after June 1st, the Dolphins will save about 10 million dollars by trading him after. If they trade him before then, I mean, come on now, it's May 27th, what's the rush? The Dolphins would be on the hook for about a 9 million dollar cap hit.
And so pretty clear here what the hell is going on with the Miami Dolphins. They're holding on to Jalen Ramsey so they don't get stocked in the wallet as it relates to the salary cap. And it was just last month that the GM and Chris Greer of the Miami Dolphins, he told everybody about Jalen Ramsey that, yeah, we're moving on from him. No, he didn't request a trade, but it's time to move on.
Listen to this. No, I think whenever those opportunities arise, you know, we've had conversations through the weekend with some teams about it as well. So depending on what happens and if and when it'll happen, whatever it is, we'll make the deal at the appropriate time.
The appropriate time is after June 1st so they don't get smacked in the wallet. Now, the team that Jalen Ramsey won a Super Bowl with apparently is a contender to go ahead and bring him back into the fold, back into the building. Think about some other teams that might want him, the Washington commanders.
These are teams all competing for championships. And then the Dallas Cowboys who, why the hell not? I know that Jerry Jones, before we even got to the NFL draft, he'd say, yeah, we're going to do something significant. They've already made a trade in bringing in George Pickens from the Pittsburgh Steelers. If there's one thing the Dallas Cowboys are like, it's stars. They just want guys with name recognition.
It doesn't matter. Somebody like Jalen Ramsey, he's 30 years old. He's not necessarily at the top, top of the game as he was years ago. He can still go out there and play. He's a veteran. He has Super Bowl experience.
I could see him ending up with the Dallas Cowboys just because, why wouldn't, he already has a Super Bowl. When it comes down to being a professional athlete, there's a couple of things that you want right out of the gate. Money. You want to make money. In the NFL where the average career is three to four years, the first thing you want to do is make money. You want to move on to that second contract. And then once you have some financial security, the next thing that you want to do is win a championship. That's after you've gotten paid. You want to get paid the whole damn time, but getting paid is the priority, not winning a ring.
He's been paid. This man has a Super Bowl championship. I mean, he can't do anything but add potentially to his legacy. I don't know if Jalen Ramsey is going to be a hall of fame quarterback. I think he has to put together a bunch more years. I don't know if he eventually has to move over to safety, but I think if I'm Jalen Ramsey, do you want the Dallas Cowboys experience?
Do you want to go back to Los Angeles where you're familiar with things out there? Do you want to go to an up and coming team like Washington? If I just have to think about Ramsey and some of the things that he said, some of the things that he's done over the course of his career, going to the Dallas Cowboys, if the Dallas Cowboys want to trade for him, that sounds like a very Jalen Ramsey thing to do. He's not going to be a free agent. He has to get traded. I think the Cowboys would be the move.
Chris, what are your thoughts? A guy like Jalen Ramsey, where do you think he fit in best? I mean, listen, if you want to talk about the Jerry Jones sponsored retirement home for former NFL stars that will take less money than they used to want to have, I think he'd be a great fit.
Dallas Cowboys. Now, if you're talking about scheme, there is something that is advantageous for Mr. Ramsey, which is that if you're a good team, and maybe you disagree, but I doubt it, you can never have enough good defensive backs, JR. So, any contender that's looking for depth should give him a call, see what he might go for.
But if it's anything serious, if it's anything that could hamstring you going forward, I don't think it's worth it. Yeah. Exactly. You're going to have to give up picks and then you're going to have to go out there and pay him.
And I don't, I don't know to what degree somebody would want to do that. Unless, unless they're going to pick up they being the mommy dolphins, unless they're going to pick up part of the tab. And I honestly think in the way that the ball is thrown around in the NFL today, we know about Pat Surtain and defensive player of the year. And we could think about the Trent McDuffie's of the world and Stingley's. And I mean, even this past year, Saul Gartner had what you would consider to be a down in an off year. Like if you can get your hands on a solid young cornerback, everybody has their ups and downs. Why do I want to pay Jalen Ramsey?
Why do I want to give up draft capital unless I just want the name? I don't want to say that he would be a luxury to any team that, you know, kind of goes out there and brings him in. But if you're not drafting a young corner, I don't want to, I don't want to pay one. I don't want to pay, I don't want to say he's washed up, but he ain't no, he ain't no spring chicken like the rest of these guys out here. Cornerbacks are getting burned, they're working hard. I think, yeah, the Dallas Cowboys would be one of these teams that would just throw him a bone per se and bring him in just for vanity reasons. And if I'm Jalen Ramsey, maybe he wants the experience, but it's really more so about what a team is going to be willing to give up. And let's see where he ends up. I assume between now and in training camp, Jalen Ramsey on the, I don't want to say the chopping block, but he seemed to be moved as well. It's the JR sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network 888-710-4ISN.
That's 888-710-4ISN. We are going to take a break when we come back. We're going to dive deeper into what the heck is going on in Indianapolis. How many times has John Halliburton popped up on the television screen?
Well, I'll give you an update on that. We'll talk about more of what's going on in this game, but to get an update, the score and everything else going on in the world of sports, it's time for a newsflash. It is the JR sport re-show here with you on the infinity sports network 888-710-4ISN.
That's 888-710-4ISN. The New York Knicks are trying their best to avoid a 3-1 deficit against the Indiana Pacers. They're in the second quarter, and just got underway. Pacers lead 43-35.
New York Knicks sure like to work from behind. Right now, Jalen Brunston leading the way for the New York Knicks with 13 points. Karl-Anthony Towns, who had 20 points in the fourth quarter of Game 3 to help save the Knicks, he has 2 points.
Meanwhile, Tyrese Halliburton has completely lost his mind to start this game, in a good way. He has 15 points. He's 3 of 3 from downtown, 4 of 5 overall from the field. Meanwhile, also Pascal Siakam has 11 points right now in 11 minutes for the Indiana Pacers. Ben Matherin also getting busy off the bench with 6 points for the Pacers. So the New York Knicks, well, they better hope for more bench scoring as they had last game. Josh Hart has 5 points. Miles McBride, 3 points off the bench as well. We talked earlier in the show about Tom Thibodeau and how he is always roundly criticized for how he utilizes or doesn't go out there and utilize his bench.
And Jalen Brunston didn't want to take the bait when asked about Tom Thibodeau and his rotations. And meanwhile, before we got to the game, head coach, championship winning head coach Rick Carlisle winning that title back with the Dallas Mavericks. He talked about how they wanted to improve from the last game where they blew a 20 point lead.
It looks like they've already done that tonight. Let's take a listen to head coach Rick Carlisle talk about what he wanted to see different tonight from the Pacers. The progression level has got to be better. Tempo has got to be better. Defense has got to be better. Rebounding has got to be better. Yeah, each game is going to be different. They hit some hellacious shots in the game last night. We hit some hellacious shots in the first two games. It's a back and forth thing. Yeah, let's see if they, I mean, I have a back and forth thing. It's still early.
Pacers lead 47 to 39. Chris, it's hard to look at multiple screens here in the studio. John Halliburton has not popped up on the screen. Have they shown him on TV?
JR, it's like they were tuned in on the free Odyssey app or somewhere to the JR Sport Brief. This has not been the John Halliburton show. This has been the anti John Halliburton show, if you want to call it that.
I don't think they've shown him for a millisecond. Oh, good. Well, I mean, I guess if this is going to be a part of his punishment, I don't want to, I don't even, I don't even know if I should go ahead and call it a punishment. It is though. It's a huge punishment when you have to sit in a luxury suite at an NBA Eastern Conference final game.
Well, well, not, not to that degree. It is a part of his punishment when you think about how he was, well, I don't want to say banned. Nobody's going to go to the extent of saying somebody's dad, the star player's dad was banned from the arena. But there's these things in corporate America that come as just polite suggestions. We think it's a good idea if you don't attend any more playoff games, you know, until we get things you need to basically lay low and stay the hell up on out the way. And so he can go ahead and probably thank Charles Barkley for, you know, putting in his two cents. I gotta be honest, if Charles Barkley didn't come out and say that, Hey, they should let him in. And he paid his dues and he made a mistake. He apologized and whatnot.
I don't think he would have been banned in the first place if he didn't go ahead and do that, that stupid television interview where he basically walked back his apology and tried to clarify, just tell lies. So maybe we will see him later on in the game. If this happens to be a nail biter and Halliburton knocks down a big shot, they may be holding it down until the end of the game. But I think, I think the league and the Pacers have both made a concerted effort to tell everybody at TNT, Hey, by the way, we know he's going to be talked about. We know he's going to be mentioned, but let's, let's keep this guy's dad off of the screen and not, not make him a story.
And I think that's, I think that's good. Indiana leads right now a 49 to 42, even Landry sham it, uh, getting some action here. What happened? Tom Thibodeau did, did he fall down and bump his head?
Like what, what was going on here? Well, Landry sham, it just fell down. He's down on the court. Jr. About to be attended to by trainers.
It looks like he hurt his tailbone, but with regard to Thibodeau. Yeah. I mean, you know, I saw a viral tweet saying that, um, putting Delon, right. And Landry sham it in the game, not only individually, but at the same time as each other was like, he was undergoing like a psychedelic journey on national television.
And I think that was a good way to put it. Yeah. Maybe he was certainly out there ego tripping, hanging out with Aaron Rogers. I don't know if he, no, I think he might've been throwing up on the sidelines. If, if he was hanging out with Aaron Rogers, I think that stuff that he does I think it makes you vomit. I don't know if Tom Thibodeau is, uh, is that out there? Yeah. You know, Aaron and I have a great relationship. You know, we, we love to do the, uh, the ayahuasca.
It's great. I'd be surprised if I heard that from, uh, I don't think Tom Thibodeau leaves his house. Uh, maybe gets a dinner every now and then I don't think you see the picture of him getting gas.
Excuse me. Someone posted a picture online of Tom Thibodeau filling up his car at a station in Connecticut. And he was in a full Nick's black outfit, quarter zip shoes, you name it. Yeah, I bet.
Yeah. He's, he's a, he's a typical coach. Like a player that wakes up with their Jersey on and he is a, that man is a coach. What does he do?
Nothing. He coaches. I mean, every now and then he might have on, I guess, a pair of Gucci shoes that he owns, but that man is a, he's a coach coach. He is a basketball coach. I don't think he has any other, any of the joy in his life.
I don't know if he, if he wins, he'd probably find something negative in that regard. He damn near left his, uh, almost wife at the altar for the game of basketball. You know, you know something I don't know, is this from a long time ago? Isn't it? It is from a long time ago.
Yeah. It wasn't, was he, he wasn't assistant at the time. So yeah, he was dating two women named Deborah at once. And apparently Debbie too was the one that stuck and they got engaged. He was going to get married. He called it off, told her he was committed to the game of basketball for the rest of his life.
And that was that. Well, we see what happens. Maybe he needs to give bill Belicheck some advice. It seems like Belicheck could certainly use some of that advice right now is there's all these silly rumors, rumors that maybe they're not silly about bill Belicheck and what his future might look like with, uh, with Jordan Hudson. And it's just Tom Thibodeau can't, can't catch a break. We talked about it earlier on in the show and Jalen Brunson prior to this game was asked about Tom Thibodeau being stuck in his ways and not utilizing the bench and putting guys out there. Certainly not the case tonight. Precious Achuas played, Miles McBride, Josh Hart, Delon Wright, Landry Shammet out there play just fell on his side, fell on his back. Uh, but Jalen Brunson was asked about Tibbs just sticking with the same old, same old all the time.
And he says, man, don't ask me these stupid questions. Listen to this. It's definitely unfair, but people are entitled to their opinion. People are entitled to, uh, say or think whatever they want for the most part, uh, as a team, as an organization, there's always going to be a lot of noise, positive or negative.
And so, um, it's all about what we think about what we do all about the work we put in day in and day out. Yeah. Wow. That's okay. Like I said, that's a captain. You following that Derek Jeter mold, don't say nothing, following Aaron Judge roller.
Don't say nothing. And then of course we got, we got plenty of players who just, they take the bait in a lot of cases and they, they make situations more difficult. His own teammate, Mikel Bridges took the bait. When asked about his minutes a couple of months ago, he was like, oh yeah, maybe we should play some other guys like, man, let the coach coach shut up, leave it alone. The New York Knicks have kind of clawed back into this one.
It's 49 to 44. Oh man, Chris, if the Knicks lose this game, I mean, it kind of bothered me to see the Knicks and it's not the next, but it's the city just doing too much. Just when they got to the Eastern conference finals, we have to put street signs out for the New York Knicks. You would think that they already won a championship.
Jr. You keep talking like this. We might have to meet outside at the long right circle to talk this over. Oh, so you love the fact that they hung up these street signs. No, I'm just, I'm just any opportunity to refer to a location in New York city as Dylan, right? Circle is certainly not what I'm going to pass up, but when it comes to the street signs, I can actually put on my reporter hat for a quick second and tell you that the city didn't have much to do with it. This was the next, this was the next teams and, and their departments and so on and so forth. The New York city, the part, the DOT, the Knicks, the city didn't have anything to do with this.
The DOT belongs to the city. They checked the boxes. They helped them print the signs, but this was all the Knicks idea. And they, they find it pretty funny that everyone's like, Oh, Eric Adams did this.
Cause they were like, well, listen, if no one likes them, we can blame it on someone else. Yeah. Well, Eric Adams is the, he's the party mayor of New York city, but that's, that's, that's some loser stuff right there. Okay. And I get it.
In a lot of cases, the, the famous cliche is act like you've been there before. I couldn't imagine. I can't think of another team and maybe this is really for losers. And I guess this is why the New York Knicks did it. Like the Boston Celtics are not in there. Okay, sure.
Fine. More championships than anybody else, but they're not going out and putting up street signs because they've advanced to the, you know, the, the Eastern conference finals. If the Red Sox got their act together and they went to the ALCS, they're not going to put up street signs. I never saw a big poppy way in the American league championship series when they were beating the Yankees backs to go to the world series and win their first one.
So I don't know. It's sometimes, and this is a problem with the New York Knicks and as the organization, you got to know when to get the hell out the way and just let the guys play basketball. Like I find it a real cornball ass thing to do to put up street signs named after we got the 15th guy on the bench, got a street sign in New York city.
It's lame. It's like when, and I got a bunch of calls about this, no disrespect to the wonderful people in Northern California. People call it from Sacramento telling me about lighting the beam. Everybody got excited. Where's, where's the damn team now? Ripped to shreds trying to figure out how they can go back to a post season, how they can put together a decent roster with an owner who's just all over the damn place. And Vivek ran a DVA out in Sacramento. And so sometimes, sometimes learn how to win by just winning.
No gimmicks, no nonsense. New York Yankees New York Yankees weren't naming street signs after anybody. The Dodgers not naming street, like there's an expectation. So sometimes people just get a little too excited and putting up street signs for a 15th man is, it's stupid. I couldn't even see the Brooklyn Nets. Nobody even knows in New York city who's on that team. You don't think Tosam Evwolbom would have a street sign? No.
That's a real person by the way. Not, not in Brooklyn, not in Manhattan, nowhere, none, none. Well, the Liberty won the championship and I'm not saying that New York city should have come up with the idea on their own, but maybe this is some inspiration to the Liberty social departments and, and content departments.
Listen, you don't, you don't got to make it to the finals again to get street signs apparently. So I'd push for it. Give me Natasha Cloudway, man.
Give me Brianna Stewart Boulevard. Yeah, no. Yeah. The New York Liberty, it took them about 25, 30 years. They actually just won. Having a parade is good enough.
Having Ellie the elephant be awesome as she is, is good enough. And the street sign, save it for the Knicks. I don't expect the New York Knicks to win an NBA championship.
I can't see any way in hell that they would beat the Oklahoma city thunder. But if the Knicks win championships, like what, everybody gets a key to the city. I mean, what are we doing here? I have no idea. The funniest part is that Landry Shammet street is smack in the middle of Times Square. Yeah. How many tourists have come to Times Square in the last week and been like, Hey, who the hell is Landry Shammet? Yeah, nobody.
It's own family doesn't know who it is up there. Okay. No idea. It's the Knicks and Pacers continue. This is going to go down to the wire. Like everything else, the Knicks and the Pacers are now tied at 51 points a piece. Jalen Brunson with 13 for the Knicks. Carl Anthony towns is putting up some points here in the second.
He has seven points now nine total. We didn't see John Halliburton, but we saw Ben Stiller. Who's made the trip to Indianapolis to watch the Knicks and Spike Lee and Al Patagonia.
Yeah. So there's a Knicks have a contingent. Let's see how close they can take it. The rest of the way. Tyrese Halliburton, 15 points.
Pascal eight and Ben Matherin eight off of the bench. It's the JR sport re-show here with you coast to coast on the infinity sports network. We'll keep you up to date with what's going on.
Apparently Kaitlin Clark is put up some shots despite her quadriceps injury. Okay. People are going to find anything to be excited about there.
I don't, I don't knock them. We're going to take a break. When we come back, we're going to recap all of the news that we've discussed today. Who showed up to work at the NFL?
What's going on in the college space? Kaitlin Clark's injury. I guess now she's still practice. And of course, we'll keep you up to date with the Knicks and Pacers as the show continues on. We have so much more to do. Of course, at the end, we'll talk about a few things that took place this day in sports history.
