Enjoy it, share it, but most of all, thank you for listening and for choosing the Truth Podcast Network. This is the Truth Network. The Truth Network Podcast is set for one flaw.

Introducing first, from Lithuania, he weighs 123 kilos, the Russian nightmare, Nikita Kolov. And hey, you can get a personal phone call from me if you have an interest in being on the show. And with me today, I'm excited to have Hope Townsend. Hope, welcome to Q&A with Kolov. Thank you very much, sir.

Well, great to have you here, Hope. And I know we connected through social media. I still call it Twitter. Some call it X, whatever.

I'm like, so what do you call tweets now, since it's not Twitter anymore, right? So anyway. Yeah, I know, exactly. It's really necessarily. It's messed me all up. And I know you follow me over there.

That's kind of where we connected. I do appreciate, I get a kick out of all your comments. I don't know how do you make those little, I don't even know what you call, what do you call those little? They're called, it's a Bitmoji program.

You can download it off of Google Play. Okay. Well, you make me laugh every time I see them.

I'm like, those are amazing. So I appreciate you. You don't even know it, but you're bringing humor to my day, Hope.

You didn't even know that, so. Well, I'm glad that I bring humor to your day because I wanted people to be happy for a change because we're surrounded in a world through a bunch of negative things. Now Hope, let's for our listeners, you're on Central Time, right? So you're somewhere in the Midwest.

Tell our listeners. I'm in Tennessee. Okay, and where in Tennessee? I'm in Manchester, Tennessee for now. Where's Manchester? I'm not familiar with Manchester. Do you know where Lynchburg is where they have Jack Daniels headquarters? Well, I have heard of Jack Daniels.

I've never met him, but I've heard of him. That's my sense of humor. It's kind of a metroplex of towns. Gotcha. There's Lynchburg, Oklahoma, Winchester, Manchester. So is that considered Middle Tennessee or Western Tennessee? What part of Tennessee? Yeah, they call it Middle Tennessee.

Okay. They call it Middle Tennessee. Middle Tennessee, okay. So you're over in Middle Tennessee.

Well, give our listeners a little backdrop on Hope Townsend. What are you currently doing in Manchester? Well, what I do for work is I make interior car parts for Nissan. I did some work for Honda and I did some work for Jeff Bezos for a very short period of time. He was my customer for a very short period of time. Gotcha.

So what got you involved in the automotive industry, Hope? My brother. Ah, your brother.

Okay. And you have how many siblings? Tell us about your family. My siblings, it's kind of weird because I have a whole brother. I have a brother that's wholly my brother. Okay. And then I have two half siblings.

And then I have, I used to have, I have two step siblings. Gotcha. Okay. So, so big, big family. Two, two and two.

Two, two and two. All right. It kind of sounds like the Brady Bunch almost, almost like the Brady Bunch, right? Yeah. Blended type families and not now. And do you have, so do you have a family of your own?

No, I have never been married and no children. Okay. All right. You've just been out there in the workforce. Now you weren't born, were you born, so you weren't born in Manchester?

No, I was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, which is one of the original stomping grounds of the WWE. Yeah. Okay. All right.

My senior was in charge of the company. Gotcha. Yeah. Uniontown PA. Yeah. I, I, yeah. Well, of course WWE had a, or WWF as I know it really, but had a lock on kind of the Northeast there for the longest time. So at what point did you become a wrestling fan?

Hope. Oh, um, I've watched it off and on because of my grandmother being a fan of Paul Kogan. Oh, grandma. Okay.

And Andre, oddly enough, had visited her house. Okay. Uh, they were, um, going, I don't know what happened. I don't know if it was a WWE promoting a match in Pittsburgh or something.

I don't know, but, uh, they were going door to door canvassing when it, this is when this took over from Vince senior. Yeah. And oddly enough, my grandmother thanked her lucky star. She had a cast iron couch, you know, all furniture was made out of cast iron and guests who came in to the house for a brief visit with her and sat down on her couch on giant. What an experience, but I bet she never forgot that.

Oh my God. She had a picture of him in her, in her photo album. That is, you know, that's a rare story right there, Hope, cause, uh, I don't know how many, how many wrestlers go canvassing the community anymore.

I'm guessing zero, but then again, you never know. But, uh, what a phenomenal story. So, so now you weren't there for that, that you just saw the picture.

Yeah. I just saw the picture. And when she showed me the picture and she told me, I was like, what, you know, why didn't you tell me about this?

Why didn't you let me in on this? So, so you became a fan. So you've been a fan for a long, long time. And do you watch, do you watch the current product or are you on an offer? Well, what it is with me is it all started with Sting.

Okay. My grandmother introduced me to wrestling and then I saw Sting. And I got this idea in my head that I was going to marry Sting and all the wrestlers was going to be my friends and I was going to be everybody's hero. And that was my thought in my head when I was a kid. Yup.

Yup. And I carried that into the beginning of my adulthood. I became a soldier in the United States Army. And, and I thought, okay, I'm a soldier, you know, in the Army, now I have time for me to grab Sting and lo and behold, you know, he was married the whole time that I was a child.

And he had made an announcement in a magazine saying, you know, that he loved his wife and his son. And I was like, oh crap, there goes that part of my plan. Scratch that. Okay. Yeah, I know exactly. But, you know, it was, it was him, obviously. It started with him and I just carried everybody around with me. And I picked my three rats and I did whatever. Right, right, right. Well, if I knew how many, how many young girls out there or, or, uh, you know, young ladies out there, you know, we're going to marry the, the Stinger.

I don't know. I'd have time to count them all. But, so I appreciate your story and on a serious note too, I thank you for serving in, in our military. I really appreciate anyone and everyone who puts on the uniform. And so I really appreciate that. So, um, well, let's do this. So it's, it's Q and A with Koloff. So I want to give you the opportunity to ask me a few questions.

And so let's segue into whatever first question you might have for me. Nikita Koloff here and I am excited. Did you hear the huge announcement, the big announcement?

Go to www.koloff.net and donate today. I was born in 1978, so could you tell me who graduated in 1978? I sure can. There was one of that whole posse there. His name is Barry D'Arso, also aka Crusher Khrushchev, aka Demolition Smash, I believe. He graduated in 1978. The year before in 77, John Nord and myself graduated in 77, and then in 76, Kurt Henning, Ravasheen, Rick Rude, Tom Zink, and the lesser known but still had a great career, he wrestled as Brady Boone, Dean Peters, graduated in 76. Barry D'Arso would have been the graduate in the year you were born, Hope. Well, thank you for telling me that. I was curious which one of them it was.

Yep, yep, Barry D'Arso. In fact, just recently, somebody just sent me a snap. Apparently, I have to chuckle because you know how things float around all over the internet, right? Facebook and Instagram and Twitter, as I still call it, X Twitter. Anyway, just recently, that snapshot of the seven of us in our graduation photos, our high school photos, are all floating around the internet currently.

Every now and then, stuff like that pops up, right? Alright, well, great questions. What else you got for me, Hope? Okay, I'm going to tell you three names of current wrestlers, three names of current wrestlers, and you tell me what you think of each of them.

Okay. Mr. Patacular, Alex Hammerstone, and Kenny Omega. So out of those three, I want to enlighten the listeners to understand the way my schedule is.

I don't follow it as maybe one time avidly did. I honestly hope only know one of those three names. Kenny Omega, I've heard of. Repeat the first two because I'm not even sure I've ever heard of.

I hope they don't get offended by that. Mr. Patacular, Mr. Patacular, and Alex Hammerstone. Okay, alright. So yes, I am not familiar with the first two, I guess, unfortunately, but Kenny Omega I am familiar with somewhat and understand he seems to have had a pretty storied career of his own. He has really weathered the storms and made a name for himself and continues to. Is he active with AEW or WWE? Who's he active with? Yes, he's with AEW.

That's what I was thinking. I was thinking he was with AEW over there. I recently went to Sting's retirement match and I'm trying to remember if Kenny was there or if I met him. No, he wasn't there.

He was at home. Okay, that would explain why I didn't meet him. I met quite a number of the other guys there that night, but some guys who I'd never met before but certainly knew their names.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the first two, but kudos to Kenny for the career he's had. Okay. Alright, what else do you have for me? Have you got a peek at NXT? No, I have not. And again, only because when it comes to watching television, I catch little clips here and there and usually on social media more than anything. Maybe occasionally on YouTube. But for the most part, I'm so laser focused on what I'm doing. I'm traveling and speaking and doing conferences and camps.

You're probably familiar with Lex Luger and I do a camp every spring and every fall called Man Camp. And so it limits my time on watching really any television at all. I just don't watch TV. I go to an occasional movie. I do like the full screen movie experience and there's a couple theaters in Charlotte that have those recliners.

And nothing like movie theater popcorn and a good movie on the big screen. So that's where most of my entertainment comes from at this point. Wow. Yep. Yep.

So yeah, very limited in terms of my wrestling viewing at this point. So you got something else for me, Hope? Got another question? Let me think for a second. Well, let me ask you what you're thinking. So go back to the old school wrestling.

Okay, back to those days. You know, you mentioned Andres sitting on your grandma's couch. Yeah, I wonder why he didn't break it. It was because it was a cast iron.

Yeah, it is pretty busy. I was watching my head. I was like, how did he sit in the middle of the couch and not break it? And she said, it's a cast iron couch. I was like, what?

Fortunately for her, that's a good thing because he has broken many a seats in his time. So any questions, perhaps maybe going back to maybe somebody I wrestled or? Yeah, what was your favorite match?

That's a good question. So my favorite match was a series of matches and already anyone who's an avid fan is probably going to know what I'm referring to you. And of course, the best of seven series against Magnum TA or as I used to call it. Oh boy, that was some explosive stuff. Yeah. I mean him and between him and you and him and totally Blanchard.

Yes. I mean, when I saw Magnum TA, he was doing an interview and Baby Doll was there and they, she was talking or he was talking and then he ripped your shirt and then totally Blanchard came out of nowhere and grabbed him. And it was like, I was like, what? It was shocking. Yeah, it set the stage.

It was crazy. Well, and it set the stage, it set the stage for the I quit match, which, you know, for him, I guess for Magnum, you know, obviously the car accident, you know, and fracturing his neck and ending his career. Exactly. Yeah. And Sting was very sad about that. He, I heard him say about how sad he was about him. And the thing is, is I only heard about Magnum TA from Sting because of him talking to the press and doing interviews that he did. So, okay, go ahead. I'm sorry.

No, finish your thought. And I wondered who he was and then I went on Peacock and I pulled up some of the old episodes and I watched some of the old episodes because I was curious as to why Sting had talked about him and said the things that he said. Yeah, he was, just to give you a quick backstory, which you may or may not already know before our listeners out there as well. You know, he was, he was being trained up, raised up to be the next, really the next Ric Flair. That's, that's what they were setting him in place to, to, to take that title, the world, the world heavyweight title. And he was only a few days away from, from flying to New York to sign a contract to put that world title around his waist. And when he had the accident and of course the best of seven in his career, what he hears, what I hear most about is the best of seven for the US title. And on his end, you know, he hears about that, but he also hears about the, I quit match against Tully Blanchard. That's a very memorable match in people's minds as well.

And so even though Magnum had a very, or a much shorter career than, than most, he definitely left an indelible mark on wrestling and, and made it, made an impact. And, and in fact, you know, fast forward all these years later, he's, he and Greg Gagne from, from some might know that name from the old AWA, Verne Gagne's son, Greg Gagne. They have collaborated together to put some brand new action figures out there.

Hopefully one day there'll be one of the Russian nightmare, but currently they're, they're, he and Tully have a little, a little package action figure set out there for the I quit match. And, and, and others are hopefully coming sometime soon, but hope I appreciate you coming on the Q and A with Kolov today. Thank you. You're very welcome.

Well, and, and, hold down middle Tennessee there, you know, make sure, make sure everything's safe over there in middle Tennessee and thanks for all your fun. Like I said, all your fun comments and remarks on, on my, my Twitter slash X account. I appreciate that.
