This is the Truth Network. This is the Truth Network. Nakita, destroy, crush, demolish all competitions. Does he want it? Here it is!
Yeah, and Mr. Kulloff once again made his feelings. Very, very apparent. It's been a long time, but the wait is over. That's a bad man.
No, that's a bad man. No, that's a bad man. It's time to man up with Satan's nightmare, Nakia Kolov. Welcome back to another episode. I'm excited to have with me today, all the way.
from the great state of Louisiana. Daniel Johnson, welcome to It's Time to Man Up.
Well, thank you.
Well, it's great to have you with us. And uh now what part uh I I mean, I think I know, but what part what city, what part of Louisiana are you from, Daniel? Starks. It's about six miles from the Texas border. about 10 miles north of Interstate 10.
Starks, Louisiana, and believe it or not, folks. I have actually been to Starks, Louisiana, which is where I met Daniel. And yeah, that was interesting, Daniel, when I was first talking to your pastor, and it wasn't like he said we're in the middle of nowhere, but he said it isn't the easiest place to get to. And I'm like, okay. And so I actually, you may or not even know this, but I'm like, so like, where would I fly into?
And so I ended up flying into Houston. Right. Yeah, and I think if I remember right, i I think that was about a a a two hour drive from Houston to get to Starks. Yes, sir, that's absolutely correct. And uh, but man, we had a great time down there.
We did a we did a man up. Conference, uh, man up intensive down there, and and then of course stayed over and and and preached the next day and just had a wonderful time there.
Now, Stokes for the record, uh, I th if again, help me with my memory here. One caution late, is that what Stokes has? Yeah, absolutely. Or Starks. I'm saying Stokes.
Starks. One caution light in the entire town, right? That's it.
So now you Daniel, you born and raised there? Are you from there? No, sir. I'm I'm really a import from I was born and raised in Orange, Texas. Orange, Texas, okay.
Yeah. Yeah. When I decided to buy some land, we decided to buy some lamb in Louisiana because the taxes were cheaper.
So Yeah. We immigrated. It's not, but about 15, 20 miles to Orange from here.
Okay, so now just really just kind of cross the border then. Right, yes.
Okay. And how long ago, how many years ago was that then that you made the move? Oh my goodness, I bought this land in, I think, in 1990, something like that.
Okay. In the early 90s. And now you said we, so who was we when you said that was my wife at the time?
Okay. Okay, so the the the two of you Yeah, she's since passed away in twenty twenty.
So Got I gotcha. How long were you guys married? 45 years. 45 years. Yes, sir.
Well, and t in today's that's a milestone in today's world.
So, I mean, congratulations on the 45 years.
Now, did did you go over and and and I guess I'm guessing you bought a bunch of acreage over there. Yes, we bought fifteen acres and Uh But we built a house and they sort of paid for it as we, you know, went.
So when we got through with it, it was paid for. Nice. And uh then I took a job, moved off.
So we decided to sell the house in seven acres. because of where the house was located, I had to just about split it.
Okay. So we did that and and then we moved back and built another house and We only sold it with one acre, but I've got about six and a half acres left here. Still got six and a half acres. And did you raise a family there in Stark? Oh, yeah.
Yeah, we sure did. I had actually two, well, I had a boy and a girl and She had a boy and uh her boys living on He's about a hundred yards behind me right now, so Oh wow, okay.
Okay. And and now that are they do they live in the area, they live in some where where are they at?
Well, my daughter lives in Dallas and my son's living in Vider, Texas. Oh, okay. He just moved back from Mexico, thank goodness. Oh, wow. Yeah, he lived in Mexico about seven years.
I'm guessing job-related or something. Yeah, right. I'm guessing job-related or something, where I would imagine, right?
Okay. Now, and so now you're retired, and we're going to get into more of this here in a moment, but. You're retired from from what profession? Actually, my main retirement was for working in rail uh rail car industry. Really?
Well, I work for a contractor. We work mostly inside of DuPont plants. and maintained the railcars for DuPont in different locations. I traveled around doing that.
Okay. And, you know, with rail car, I mean. You see trains still rolling down the tracks now, but not nearly as often as they once did, right? Right, yeah. And how many years did you spend in that profession?
Oh, goodness. Yeah. A long time. Long time. But longer than you remember, right?
Yeah. I work for three different companies. But they all did the same type of business. Gotcha.
Well, I come out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I so I come out to Starks. Of course, someone from your church there that we know, Greg Bowers, right? Right. Who I actually met Greg here in North Carolina a number of years ago. And the way I understand the story, Greg, I think Greg's wife is from Starks, if I remember right.
Oh, yeah, she has some kin here anyway if they're if she's not actually from here. Yeah, has family there. And Greg wanted to move her back to be around family just a few years ago. But over the course of that move and that time and being there, he had been talking to your pastor. He's like, We got to get Nikita Koloff out here.
We got to get your pastor's like, Who's Nikita Koloff? He's like, Here, look him up. Here's this website. Look him up. We got to bring a men's conference out here and have him preach.
And I think he petitioned the pastor. I think Greg told me like a couple, three years to finally. I think he browbeat the pastor in submission, I think. Fine, Greg, just stop asking me. We'll bring him out.
So, no, but I had love your pastor's heart. Had an incredible time out there with you guys and at the conference. Conference, preaching. Even the two-hour drive each way was actually enjoyable. It really was.
It really ain't that bad. No, no, it wasn't at all. And it was fun just to get a little history on the town, the city there. And what you guys are doing there. And so we do the conference, and of course, I meet you.
And Did did you you you You had it in your heart because I at the at the Man Up Conference, I talk about the Man Camp that Lex Luger and I facilitate in Georgia. And And I'm curious, because I don't think I asked you when you heard about Kev, was it immediately something, Daniel, that you're like, Yeah, I need to do that? Or did Greg encourage you? Or how did you make that ultimate decision to want to come to Man Camp?
Well, actually when you were at doing the Man Up conference, I mean, I heard it, but uh it just didn't register and It was probably two or three days after that. I just, some way or another, the Lord convicted me and said. You know, I think that's something you need to do.
So that's the reason I sent no. I hadn't even talked to Greg about it, even though I knew he knew a lot about it. Yeah, because he had come, that's where he and I actually, I had ministered in his church, did the man of conference in his church. He came and attended man camp a number of years ago prior to moving back to Louisiana. And uh and then uh he'd said he'd been you know been telling some of the guys about it uh out there and and so through so through conviction, through God's conviction, he just really kind of prompted you, spoke to your heart to attend.
Right. So I did some checking on it and sent in my registration and they went from there.
Well, and and you know, so what's interesting about that story to me is it it kind of parallels a s a similar story for me in that Back in 2006, I was actually ministering next door to you in Texas. and somebody had handed me A brochure for a camp. out in Texas called Quest. And and I was like.
Okay, and I took the information and went back to my hotel room that night. And really, like you, I feel God just kind of prompted, you know, put it on my heart. I want you to attend one of these camps. And I'm like, yeah, okay, yeah, that sounds good, Lord. I'll do that.
I'll check into it. You know, like, I'll go on the website, I'll check into it. And interestingly, I. I'm looking at all the dates and when it was offered, and they basically, back then, anyway, did like one a month. more or less.
Yeah. But but my schedule usually is is Can be as full as six, eight, 10 months out in advance, right? Right. And every time I kept looking, I'm like, oh, I can't do that one. I already got something scheduled.
Oh, I can't do that one. Fast forward, Daniel. That was in the spring of 05. Uh No, I'm sorry, the the Spring of uh of Yeah, it was the spring of 05 because, okay, what happened? It was the spring of 05.
Later that year, I was in Uganda, Africa, doing ministry. And I finished up. And I'm sitting in my hotel room. We were doing speaking at schools and just a whole lot of outreach there. in uh in Uganda And the Lord says, now, so this is like May of 05, and now it's like October of 05, right?
And the Lord says, so he has a little conversation with me in the hotel that day. He's like, so.
So, like, when you go into one of these camps that I convicted you, right? You know, prompted you to go. I'm like, oh, Lord, I tell you, as soon as I get back home to the States, I'll go to the first available one, right?
So I get back home and I'm like, you know, can't go in November. December, they don't do them because of the Christmas. January I'm already booked, February I'm already booked, finally. March of 06, I'm like... Boom, I'm going, right?
I'm going. And I did. And man, I want to tell you, Daniel, it was life-changing for me, even though I had already been walking with the Lord for 13 years at that point. It was life-changing. And some of what men experience at the man camp today.
Comes from that experience. I ended up volunteering my time for 12 years with that ministry to see other men impacted like I was. Yeah, yeah.
So that said, here's what I want my listeners to know, though, today is. Not only did you make the decision, so God convicts you to come. But For those of you listening out there, Daniel set a new milestone for our camp. And the milestone was he is now officially the oldest camper that we have had at the age of 81. Right.

Go to iAssociates.com for more information. Yeah, that's a fact. Yeah, and man, and Daniel, I've told you this kind of off-air, but when I mentioned that, and it happened again just this past Sunday, you know, when I'm kind of share with people some of the praise reports for the camp, and you know, and when I mention that every time so far, they're like, oh.
Oh my gosh, 80, what, what? And I'm like, 81, still hungry for God, man. And on top of that, if that's not all, folks, Not only did Daniel, at the age of 81, make a decision to come and chase after the heart of God. He didn't fly in to Georgia. Daniel, you drove.
To Georgia.
Okay. Now, you have a sister in Georgia. Where's your sister? No, she's in Fantville, North Carolina. In Fayetteville, okay, okay.
Wow.
Okay, over in the Fort Bragg area over there. Right, yep.
So, because you left camp and went over there and visited her, right? Right, yeah. I was going to stay three nights with her and then come home, but on account of some bad weather, I decided to. Stay an extra night.
So I came home on Tuesday. All right.
So, but here, now, folks, here's the thing that amazed me.
So, I'm talking to Daniel, you know, post-camp, right after camp. You know, asked, you know, I want him to come on the show and share some of his experience. And I'm like, obviously, you made it home safe. He goes, I did. He goes, yeah, it was a 16-hour drive.
But I'm like, yo, yo, hang on. Surely you stopped and spent the night halfway, right? He goes, well, probably should have, but. Daniel, when I tell people you drove 16 hours at the age of 81, they're like, wow, that guy's like Iron Man or something, you know? They're amazing.
Lacks a little bit upstairs, maybe.
Well, some people say, you know, the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top, right? Exactly. Maybe you should have made a little better.
Well, praise God, though, you made it home. You made it home, though.
So, well, Daniel, so let's take a few minutes, just kind of talk about your experience at camp. I mean, because some might think, you know, You know, wow, 81 years old. I guess did you grow up in church? Have you been, I mean, you've been in church probably most of your life, part of your life. Tell us a little backstory.
Quite a bit. I tell you what, listening to some of the stories of these guys that were there at the man camp. the way they grew up. And oh, it's just it just broke my heart, Nikita. Yeah.
I mean, I just couldn't believe And I think, man, I didn't know I led such a protected life because. I had a good Christian mother and I mean, she took us to church, me and my sister, and Uh, my dad died when I was ten and I mean, I just, that's such a blessing. Yeah, so I'm a Christian mother. Yeah, so, so a praying mama and uh and one that took you to church to have that foundation, right? And yeah, exactly.
So, more or less, more kind of a raised by a single mom, more or less. Then, uh, exactly right. Yeah, so okay, so see, basically, you're you're around, so you've been in, you know, in and around church, you know, a good part of, if not most of your life, but yet God convicts you. to to come to camp. And did he I guess my question would be did he either at camp or or or post camp kind of uh kind of give you revelation or re realize why he wanted you to come to camp?
Well, I sort of got the idea that, you know, he wanted to open my eyes about some things that. I was sorta just like wasting I I know I'm retired, you know, and But it just sort of occurred to me that I'm wasting a lot of my time. I don't need to be sitting on this couch. watching television when I need to be out there visiting people. and telling them what God's done for me.
And That was the biggest conviction I got out of out of camp, actually. How you can How you can, even at the age of 81, still impact God's kingdom, right? Oh, absolutely. Yes, sir.
And one of the ways you just said is whether it's out there visiting people, but and you know, I talk about all the time, you know, for those who are jokingly or in a sense say more seasoned in their walk with Christ, you know, they might be a tad older, but you know, the whole process of, or the whole thought of Apostle Paul discipling Timothy, right? And the opportunity you have And all the experience you have, and as many years as you've been walking with Christ, you know, to be able to, and when I say a younger man, I mean, that doesn't necessarily, I mean, it could be a teenager, it could be someone in single digits who maybe doesn't have a dad. It could be a 30-40-year-old man who just doesn't have the experience you've had in walking with Christ that you can sew into and pour into, right? Mm-hmm. I see a lot of people, they get old.
And they think, well, I can't do this. And when you say that, you're right, you can't. You know, you have to let God use you to do it and get off your duff and. Get busy. and you'll be surprised what he can do through you.
If you're just willing, right? Exactly. Yeah, you got to be willing. You know, that reminds me when you say, you know, you bring up that word, I can't. I probably said that.
I said that enough times that I raised four girls, and I'm sure they got tired of hearing dad say, when they go, Dad, I can't do that. I'm like, hey, whether you can or you can't, you're right. And they're like, Dad, stop saying, you know, I'm like, look, if you've convinced your mind that you can't, and you're absolutely 100% right. But if you never try, you might surprise yourself and find out you really can do in whatever it is, right? Fill in the blank, whether it's playing sports or excelling in the classroom or whatever, right?
Yep. And you know, at Man Camp, I don't know how many men came up to me and said, I just want to tell you, you're an inspiration to me. And I mean that just sort of floored me because I mean, I ain't nothing special. I mean, you know, yeah, the Lord's allowed me to. good health and all live to be 81.
But you know, to impress somebody like that. I mean, that really impressed me.
Well, and you know, in my eyes, Daniel, you're an example of, you know, you mentioned, you know, you had, as you said, a pretty sheltered life in being raised by a Christian mom where, you know, not everyone has had that fortune. I mean, even my own story, you know, my dad left when I was three. I was raised by a single mom, but I was not raised in church like you were. My mom was not a Christ follower. I actually ended up leading my mom to the foot of the cross at the age of 76.
Oh, my goodness. That's great. 76. The Lord put it on my heart, convicted me. uh on one of my trips back to Minnesota to talk to her about her salvation.
And so I did with hesitancy because sometimes family's the hardest to talk to about that, right? Oh, absolutely. I agree with that. Yeah. And so, but I did, and she prayed to receive Christ with me at the age of 76.
And so, yeah, pretty amazing.
Well, I'm reminded too, you know, in some of your story, Isaiah 6:8, whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And then I said, Here I am, send me. And that sounds like that's what you have done. You're living out Isaiah 6-8, Daniel.
Well, I've I've done better lately, but there for a while I was slipping to falling into that trap again and you know, you just got to When the Lord convicts you, you got to get up and do something.
So you felt like you were getting kind of just kind of complacent and coasting along. Absolutely, yeah. You know, that's the easy way. Yeah. Well, and I wonder, and I I d we'll never figure figure out the the numbers, but I wonder how many uh how many s how many sit in church, you know, week after week after week and and do that very same thing.
They just coast along. You know, just complacent. I'll even say this, and maybe you agree: content just to sit on the sidelines, to use a sports analogy. To sit on the sidelines, but not, you know, not get off the bench and get in the game, right? Right.
And that's what's wrong with so many churches now, Nikita. The men have set back, and ain't knocking women because they do a wonderful job. But that ain't what God said. That ain't the way He set it up. Yep.
And men need to step up and be men. And that's a whole lot what this camp was about, the book that you gave us to. And they some wonderful ideas in there. Of course, a lot of that my time is passed raising a family and all. But, oh man, it's really great.
But still, some great principles and some great lessons that through the teachings and the trainings and even the outdoor activities and things that we do at the camp that a man of any age, right? Whether you're 18 or 81, right? Exactly. Can could profit from, right? Yeah.
Exactly right.
Well, you are, and I'll just emphasize, ditto what the men at camp said, Daniel, you are an inspiration to me. You know, I've not reached that decade as of yet, should the Lord so choose, but I'm hopeful that if I do reach that decade, that like you, you know, I still have that hunger and that conviction in me not to sit on the sidelines and get engaged and involved. Are you working? We only got a couple minutes left here, but are you, you know, you mentioned visiting, so what are some of the things that you're doing to build God's kingdom then? To do what?
What are some of the things? Take a minute and to just share with us a couple of examples of what you're doing to get off the sidelines and go. You know, you mentioned visiting. Are you going and visiting people? What are you doing?
Yes. Matter of fact, this morning I talk to a guy, he's in our church and I went up there and we made sausage together, but it gave me a good opportunity to talk to him and his wife. wonderful people. I mean, you know, he he helps other people in the community and stuff. and they do a lot for the widow women here in the community.
And we just really had a good time, good visit tonight. got home and I said, thank you, Lord, for putting these people in my life too. because I have some wonderful neighbors and people that God has put in my life that It really made it. a lot easier when my wife passed. Mm-hmm.
So, uh it it freed up freed up more. Yeah. Yeah, exactly. instead of sitting here watching the T V or Doing this social media stuff. I ain't into all of that.
Yeah, well we're kind you and me both are kind of a different generation in the sense for that, aren't we? Right, yep.
So, well, I want to tell you, it was, it's fun, just for the record, it's fun to, you know, to travel from church to church and kind of brag on you, Daniel. That's what I'm doing. Kind of bragging on you. And after talking with you today, I know our listeners will be blessed by hearing your story. And let me just say: if you're inspired by Daniel's story, no matter what age you are, I hope you're at least, if not inspired, I hope.
You're challenged to get off the couch, as he said, get off the sidelines, as we talked about, to go out and make a difference for God's kingdom. Figure out what it is you're doing that is impacting God's kingdom, you know, beyond working and paying bills, right, Daniel? Yes, exactly. And so, and if you want to know more, if you want to learn more about the man camp, maybe you're a woman out there with a husband or a special man in your life, a dad, a brother, go to koloff.net, koloff.net, and you check it out.
