Now, the devil's nightmare. Welcome back to another episode of It's Time to Man Up. Welcome back to another episode of The Man Up Show. Nakita Koloff, yours truly. And.
You know, I'm always curious as to what each and every individual is focused on doing when it comes to impacting. The world around them.
Well, this man is certainly making an impact. Larry Reese Sr., welcome to the Man Up Show.
Well, praise God. It's my honor to be on with you.
Well, you know, you, Larry, as we have talked and of course, run into each other over the years, and I think most recently at the NRB in Nashville, Tennessee, at the convention there, Wow, I mean, you do a host of things. I mean, from worldwide television programs to revival to pastoring and a host of other things. Let's just. For our listeners, let's just start with kind of where you're headquartered and. Tell us, take a minute, tell us about your family too, Larry.
Okay, well, I'm in Virginia Beach, Virginia. It's where Cape Henry is. Cape Henry is where in 1607 Um they came with three ships and Actually, um the the church in America began right here in Cape Henry. And so this was Robert Hunt came here and. Yeah, uh he was um Uh Vicar.
for the Anglican church and the the church began right here which then went to Jamestown. And that's where America began, right here. And so the name of our church is K. Penry Church. And we have it there because they had a mint.
They prayed a prayer, made a covenant. at Cape Henry when they got off the ship after being there waiting, they took a cross, a wooden cross that they made. made out of wood from the uh ship. And they came out after three days of fasting and planted it there right on on the on the point at Cape Henry. And prayed, and prayed, and they made a covenant that whoever comes on Cape Henry will go into covenant with them.
And their vision was to bring the gospel to the world. Then the end will come.
So God spoke to us and said, I want you to do that. Take that mandate. and do that.
So that's what we did. And so, you know, we were in revival. And what happened was, you know, Gene Bailey from Flashpoint and Brother Copeland's Ministries and Victory Television. He came to our church and brought a revival to our church. And so we were revived after a while.
I mean fully revived and I looked at the congregation I said Well, we revive. What do we do now? Right. You already revive. Everybody's on fire for God.
We do now and and the Lord said, harvest. And that's when this started.
Somebody from Pakistan contacted me who owns a network, a worldwide network.
Next thing you know, they put me on their network for free. They put my uh my church service, they were watching it on church, our church service on Facebook, I didn't know that. and contacted us they said we want your message on our network And that's how it began.
Now we have, I told you, it's like 524 episodes. Actually, it's 544. 44 episodes we have done. half hour episodes and it's going around the world. We own multiple networks, we own Roku, we own everything, satellite, and reaching millions of people every time we air in English and in Urdu both.
So yeah, it's amazing. What guys are doing now? And so, so a couple questions. One: so, how long ago? Uh did did did that Did you initiate that?
How many years ago did you, did that all begin for you?
Well, it started like around 2018.
Okay. And then from there. you know, revival broke out that day. We stayed in revival for From then on. Still in it, and our church is still on fire.
I mean, we're not a big church, but Everybody's definitely burning inside their hearts, you know? And so it just kind of went long there and for about Three or four years now we've been on television. Maybe four years, something like that. And it came to us, and I said, Well, how are we going to do this? We're a small church.
We don't have television stuff, we have nothing. That's how you reach the world. And it just started there and just like I shared it with then they contacted me and said, we want you to come on every day on our network. live and in for an hour and interview people. For free.
We'll provide you with a an interpreter. And all that, and provide everything you need. And we want you on every day, I said, every day? Yeah, every day, live. I'm going, hmm.
So I went to some people in our church and I told them what they said and And somebody in the church said to us, Um Why don't you go ahead and record them like other people do? Pre-record them and then. And then play them that way, your episodes. And I said, okay. And I said, but it costs some money.
They said, don't worry about it. I got it. I mean, that one family said, I got it. They paid for the whole thing. Yeah, I was going to say, it sounds like God to me enough.
You know, it's a crazy thing when you're in God's will, it's God's bill. He has a way of getting people to provide. I mean, it's the most amazing thing.
Well, he does. He just dropped in our lap. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. And I like to say this amazing thing. Yeah, and I like to say it this way: Holy Spirited, you hear his voice and you follow him.
I mean Okay. Our church is debt-free, you know. Great things are happening, you know, are we During COVID, amazing thing was during COVID, Our giving actually doubled in our church, and we never even asked for it. It just already, people gave, you know. It's just it's an amazing thing what God can do.
Um I could talk for hours on this. I'm not going to do that.
Well, it is amazing, to say the least. I mean, you know, like you said. Yeah, can you hear me? Can you not hear me? Yeah, I hear you.
Yeah.
Okay. Okay. Yeah, I was trying to. What do you think about that?
Well, there's a lot of thoughts there. I mean, with what you were saying, Juan, you know, I like to say it this way: God gives you a vision, He's going to also give you pro-vision. I know I like how you said it's God's bill, you know, and the fact that. You know, he continues, he's talked about being in the center of God's will, and it's certainly amazing that when you find yourself there. Just what all God can do.
Let me ask you a question, Larry, regarding. Revival, you know, you said revival started a number of years ago, you're still in revival. Um, what, what, What does that look like specifically for you guys? I mean, is it really easy to answer? First of all, my pastor.
For 24 years has been Dr. Gil Howard Brown, Rodney Howard Brown. Older brother.
Okay. I got touched in his meetings. back in the 90s in the revival meetings. Back then? He came here to Virginia Beach and brought revival here to Virginia.
I got touched in those meetings. I was a burnout pastor, backslid. And during right before those meetings, I came back to the Lord and God just really transformed my life, and now he's. been my pastor for 24 years. And so, you know, I learned and I saw what revival really was.
I was in every revival since the 70s through the 80s, the Word of Faith revival, the prophetic revival, all the revivals.
So I was a leader in all of them.
So I know what revival is. And what happens is this, how we got revived means our life changed. I mean, we're on fire, we're excited, we're not being overcome by the enemy every day, we're not fighting devils every day, the devil doesn't have anything to do with us. It's amazing. And God's just blessing us.
People growing spiritually right now. God's blessing them. They're growing spiritually. And I I we do a home group. I teach a home group every week too on Wednesday.
and and we have people drive a little ways to come and they said it's the best home group they've ever been in Well, because they're on fire for God. They're hungry for the word. And so God just does some phenomenal things. Revival manifests in different ways and different places, you know.
Well, that's what I was. I enjoy all those things happen in our church, but yeah. But also, you know, it just. There's something people revived on the inside that life is changing. God speaks to us and through us administers to one another.
It's amazing to see what God's doing. It's just amazing.
Well It's all good. It's all good. And I can tell you're excited.
So that's good. What's that? Uh I should I said, I can tell you're excited and that's good. Yeah.
I mean, I have people like architect that comes to our church. Business owners or former business owners, retired people, you know, young, old. You know, we're not a big church, but we got a big, you know, like, I like what Smith Wigglewertz said years ago. You said he's bigger on the inside than he is on the outside. I feel like that's what's happening.
We're becoming bigger on the inside.
Well, and that's why I was curious, you know, because people have different perspectives on what revival looks like, you know, and we hear that term thrown around all the time. They define revival right out of their church.
Well, that term is thrown around quite often, even now, right? America needs revival. And I agree, it does. I do too. But I was just curious in your community and what that looked like specifically for you guys.
This did not something. The reason why a lot of people are not walking in this. is because they have their own definitions. They're not biblical definition. They're not by the Spirit of God.
It's whatever he does. You give him full reign in your life in the church. And let him do what he wants. And be led by him. And great things begin to happen.
People want to control their churches and instead of letting God control it. We have to let him control our lives. These people wake up every morning and they're sensitive to the Holy Spirit. And they want God to have control of their life. Literally, to be led by the Holy Spirit every day, you know, there's a few years ago when in the middle where we started teaching, I started teaching, the Lord began to speak to me because I moved in a prophetic.
quite heavily and and so I preached that way without notes for like twenty something years. And God just gives me, it just starts like prophesying the words to me when I'm preaching. It's the most amazing thing with Revelation. And so they they They are hungry for the word. They're hungry for what God's doing.
And so. We just allow the Lord to move. We give Him the service and we just float with the Holy Spirit. And the results are amazing. People want to take control of their church.
They want to be in charge of everything. They want to pray and tell God what to do instead of letting God tell them what to do. You know.
Well, there is. Revival comes when you obey him. It's been prophesied years ago by Smith Waverworth. to Leslie's summer all about how that In this last move of God, that's when the Word and the Spirit is going to come together. And I know what that means.
We're living it. Because what happens is Paul talks so much about walking in the spirit. And he knew what it was like because he didn't have the scriptures and The New Testament Uh text. Because he was writing about two-thirds of it, you know. At that time.
And so he was going by the voice of God and by God leading him. Not by what he read. He was going by that.
Now he wrote the scriptures, which gives us now, you know.
So we take the word and the spirit working together, they become one. It's a living word. And things come to pass in your life, things happen. God bless us.
So many miracles are taking place in our church. It's just amazing stuff that's happening. Um You go by the proofs in the eating of the pudding. Revival is when you come, you know something's going on. You know it's happening.
You just know. You know, you don't have to define it, it defines itself.
So let me let me ask you a question. Does that make sense? Oh yeah, absolutely. 100%. 100%.
Um Let me ask you a question. You mentioned that. You mentioned over 500 episodes and I know it's quite a few different I think seven different networks, ten different channels, millions of viewers, both in English. And what was the other language you mentioned? Urdu.
There's a hundred million people who speak Urdu worldwide. And we were reaching an area where all the Urdu speakers are.
So when we did it in English, what happened was the people in Pakistan now we own other networks besides Pakistan now, but they they contacted me, the owner of it. I'm you know, they they see me as their spiritual father. They're a big, big network, big church. Big TV thing. They have two channels on it, on satellite, and they're all over the world.
Anyway, they came to me and they asked me to be their spiritual father. It does.
So that that they said they said they they had the program on and people called in, you know, they they were calling, they can call in for prayer and Ministry and report, you know, salvations and get people to pray with them. Anyway, when they called him, they said. They said we really we turned this channel this this program on. And we don't understand a word they're saying because we don't speak English. But they said, boy, the anointing's coming off the T V.
Could you please get them to Put this in Urdu. And so he came to me and asked me and he They got it down as cheap as they could and they so we we we paid them and let them have somebody to um you know, to translate it for us. And it's the most amazing thing. And so we have a big, big Urdu audience right now, too. And our program goes even into Uh All throughout Pakistan, Afghanistan, all these countries that's having problems right now.
We hitting all of them in their homes. It could be, you know, these could be. uh people who are not good people, you know. They have bad intentions and different religions and stuff. And uh and what happens is People getting saved.
They're coming to Jesus. It's amazing. Tons of them.
Well, what I did, we brought on people that have a revival background or a soul-winning background. And so we do our program. The first part of the program, we talk and introduce and chat about things, administer some. And in the last 10 minutes, we move into ministry. And we start out shifting to prayer.
And then we get words of knowledge, or whatever God gives us. We minister, and then we pray for people, and we always. Lead people to Christ. That's the major part of that program. leading people to Jesus and baptism of the Holy Spirit.
and the power of God and praying for them and their families. And we getting people just tons of people watching and telling their friends to watch again. And it's the most and it's like bringing revival to them.
So much so, they asked me to, they said, Larry, we'd like you to come here to do a big crusades. I said, I can do better on TV. I don't need to do a crusade, I don't need my picture before everybody. It doesn't bother me. And so they they so they asked me a lot of leaders and they do these pastor meetings.
He said a lot of leaders are trying to get you to come and minister to them. And so uh about two years ago, year to two years ago over a period of a year and a half. I ministered by Zoom, live by Zoom. Over 16,000 pastors and leaders were in Pakistan, covered most of the country.
So, what a, what a, you know, I didn't ask for that. It's just like. They asked me to do it, so I do it, you know. And um I did feed them all though. I found a way to feed them all.

And by the way, I've never even, for the record, I've never even heard of Urdu.
So you've you've educated me today, Larry, with informing me of a new language. And But you're talking about making a difference. I know you say over 850 million households over in the Asian. Just on that satellite. Yeah, just on the one satellite, right?
We've been on that satellite. We're on four times a day. Every day. In 182 countries, correct? Yeah.
Just on that network, now I'm on the other networks. I have one one one one network. Here in the States. relatively newer one, you know, but they own Roku and all kinds of stuff. They're airing our program seven days a week.
Six to seven times a day. I didn't ask him to do that. I thought it was going to be once a day, but. No, they do it six to seven times a day. Because they love our program.
Now do you get Do you get people responding like emailing you or contacting you and saying, hey, just want you to know? On the messenger? Oh my gosh, messenger is like. You think of spam. I mean, there's so much stuff coming in, people trying to become friends and follow me.
and stuff, you know, and I can't only talk to so many of them, you know. It's just tons of them.
So, what kind of stories are you getting? I like it. How to find me? And they find him. You trust me.
What kind of stories are you hearing, Larry? Like, you know, how to transform a whole family? What are you hearing? What's that now? What kind of stories are coming in?
Like, our whole family was transformed by your message or your show, or what kind of stories are you hearing? What we doing? We're just ministering to people, you know, by the Holy Spirit. I go on, I'll have. In two days, I'm doing 10 episodes right now.
per month. I was doing twenty for all this time, twenty episodes because one a day, you know. And so I would have in three days, I would do 20 episodes. with different people, different guests. And I would go back to back on them.
I had no idea what they were going to talk about. I got on by the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit moved. I told these guys, I said, listen. I said, picture yourself. An outdoor crusade with millions of people out there watching you, and most of them are not Christians.
a different face and stuff and they're checking you out. And I said, and they're there, and I give you the mic. What are you going to tell them? Then they take their notes and throw them out the out the door almost. Because it's different, you know.
You're gonna win them. And so, what are you gonna tell them? A lot of testimonies. A lot of ministry, a lot of sharing the words.
Some people more experienced at doing it that way. They do it their way. Others do it differently. And I just flow in the Holy Ghost with them. And I just, we just flow by the Spirit of God.
It's the most amazing thing. Words of knowledge, I mean detailed words of knowledge for people, I mean for healing. And then we get responses back to people being healed, miracles happening. And people call in, you know, on one show, three or four hundred, eight hundred people got saved just calling in. during the time of our program.
They said, Larry. You should come here. I said, Well, I don't want to go over here. I can just, I'll use the money for T V, you know. I'm not looking to be famous.
You know, he said, well, Larry. We want you to come because everybody in the country knows who you are.
So, what do you mean? Yeah, everybody. Yeah.
I said, everybody, yeah. I said, that's probably all the more reason why I don't want to go, but anyway.
So It's just, God's just doing some great things. I can't take credit for this. You know, it's not like I'm a great. preacher a great teacher We have a great God we serve. Oh, it's amazing.
And you know why he does that? Because he loves them. I can believe it's doing so well because it was his idea. And he'll watch and he will teach you. and show you and lead you and guide you into his will.
to do as well when you do that. He brings the people, he touches the people. And and there's no real stress. I mean, I work Three days a month, two d now I'm doing two days a month. And that's it, and reaching millions of people.
You know, people wanting to bring me on their networks. I mean, I have every network in Pakistan, every TV network. The owners have called me and tried to get our program on their network. I turn them down only because I started with this one, they were loyal to me. I told him, I said, listen, I'm going to be loyal to them.
'Cause when you have a program that airs at a certain time, with a lot of viewers. We've had up to s over sixteen point seven million viewers every time we air an episode. That's where we got to be. And so these people, so what happens is nobody's watching that time slide. on their T V.
on their network see And I just felt led to just You know, well, that one. Stick what I'm doing, and they've been faithful to us. And in fact, the uh the the uh president and his wife, the owners of and his wife of King Television, In Pakistan. are planning to come here tonight, the ninth of of uh next month and they're gonna come in minister in our church.
So if you happen to be in the area, you can meet him.
Well, I appreciate the invitation, and you're certainly. I think everyone will attest to your story that you are making a difference. Um, out there in the marketplace, yeah, people getting saved, that's the main thing, you know. And you know, it costs us, like, let me tell you. We do these programs and we do them in our doodle, okay?
to produce these programs, edit them, get them out there in Urdu and English. It cost me $300 a a program. That's it. and professionally done for television, 300 a program.
Okay. I mean, I think. 30 minutes, a 30-minute program. If I went out and did a crusade, a 30-minute program, and they spent tons of money to get 100,000 people out there let's say, I'm reaching more people with Finger dollars. I mean, why would I want to go over there?
Get on the stage and show myself before thousands of people, which is nice. They're doing a great job. They're winning, they're doing this every weekend with thousands and thousands. They want me to come and minister, and I'm not. They want me to be on TV doing it.
Well, I'm busy doing other stuff for church and for the kingdom of God, you know. And we're winning on the loss like mad. I mean, it's amazing.
So, in addition, I know we are. And so we get a lot of responses. People know who we are everywhere. When every television network is big network In the country, the owners find me and they try to call me. They want to invite me on their program, they want me to come to Pakistan, they want me to put my program on.
And I turn them down, all of them.

And we're expanding all the time. We own When every time I go to uh NRB, I pick up two or three networks. you know, want us on. And in addition, in addition to hosting your lap, it's awesome. In addition to hosting the radio, we're a small church.
And in our building, what we have, we lease the building, we rent the building for our church services. is fully equipped with television. The uh the the pastor of the main church He's got his PhD in T V. There's a a podcast from In there, we never even use it. I'm probably going to try to use it.
It's all set up with all the equipment, everything. God just like puts me in the right place at the right time to do everything. It just, it is what it is. Yeah.
So I'm sounding like you know, it sounds like you're bragging, but it's not. I'm bragging on him. You know? He can do that for anybody. If you follow the Holy Spirit, you'll be led by Him.
And you allow God to direct you every day. And here's what I told people a few years ago when we first started. I said. There's a shift coming. And everybody was saying there's a shift coming.
In the kingdom of God. And he said, This is what it is. People are going to go from the Walking in the flesh to walking in the spirit. That's the shift. It's going to shift them from the flesh to the spirit.
And I wasn't hearing anybody talking about that at that time. And now everybody's talking about it. It's like, you know, people told me, Larry, you're on a cutting edge. You're like ahead of everybody. I said, no, I'm not.
But the Bible says that the Holy Spirit will show you things to come. And he does just that. When you live by him, Jesus only did what he saw the Father do. He only spoke what he heard the father say. And as if you look at when he says he did what he saw the father do, it's like he was, in the Greek, it says he was in step with him.
Step by step, in other words. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, right? And so that's how we walk in here. Each step would be led by him and and you can do it. We're doing it.
We're not perfect at it, but we're doing better than we used to. Yeah.
Well, it all just a matter of all just a matter of taking time, taking the time and making yourself available, right?
So and and revival at Cape Henry Larry Reese. Church is Cape Henry Church.
Okay. In Virginia Beach, Virginia, correct? Yep. What's the website for the church? Here's a Yeah.
Cape, say it again? Kate Henry Church. H E N R Y. All right. George.
That's why the cross was planted in America. Cape Henry. In fact, all of Virginia Beach is considered Cape Henry. In fact, uh Pat Robertson Uh took a cross and they dedicated that they brought it to to Santa Rena Club. And they stand with that same covenant.
They did that. I didn't call that, but. They did.
So what happened is, amazing thing was, I get here from Louisiana. When I was 12 years old, the Lord spoke to me. I'm standing next to a telephone pole outside of a restaurant bar that my grandma was on at the time. And a guy spoke to me at 12 years old. I didn't know guys in speaking.
I was a Catholic and not even a good one. And I'm standing there and he's holding a conversation with me. And he said, one day I'm going to use you like the end of the world or whatever it is. I didn't know. I said, Lord, I don't want to be a priest.
My grapes aren't good. That's thick. And I remember that happening. And then years later, I'm out here and the list says, you remember that? Do it next to that poll.
He said, that was me. And I said, you're right. It was you. And here we are. And I found out this.
He said, check your your your ancestors.
So I had my daughter do it. And come to find out. Uh Um King Philip II who was married to Bloody Mary, Bertie, all Protestants. He's going to be my eleventh great grandfather. Yeah.
And on the other side, Uh because on my mother's side, on my dad's side, I go directly back to Robert Hunt, the guy who came here with the cross. And I was the first Protestant in my family. There's a lot of history.
Well, Larry, I appreciate it. And I didn't know that until after we took that mandate on. I'll be like, oh wow. That's amazing. Apparently, I understand that Pat Robertson said he's related, he's related to Robert Hunt, too.
And pretty amazing.
