Let's do it. You've got questions. We've got answers. Phone lines are open.
348-784-866-34-TRUTH is the number to call. You've got questions. We've got answers. So, any question of any kind that relates to any subject we cover on the line of fire. Obviously, subjects we can discuss in public in a setting like this. You're one side and we want to be fair, but we can address issues. We can address subjects.
You're struggling with reading the Bible and trying to come up with an understanding of a verse, or you stump with someone you're sharing the gospel with or just your own spiritual life. You want to ask about Israel, politics. If it relates to any way to the line of fire, we're good. We are glad to take your call. 866-348-7884. But as always, the goal is not just to give you information. Right? the goal is to infuse you with faith and with truth and with courage to help you stand strong on the front lines with that we will start over in Pennsylvania Alex welcome to the line of fire Alex are you there all right that's odd well let's see we're getting a few other callers set up here so we'll see hopefully we've got our own systems and studio turned on properly let me let me just address one of the thing regarding Israel's pager pager war in that was executed in in Lebanon on Tuesday and then walkie-talk is exploding on Wednesday the unless someone happened to be around the pager may have happened with a child tragically and and it went off it was right next to someone that was also injured or killed otherwise the only people that are gonna have these pagers or our Hamas excuse me Hezbollah operatives they are all sworn for the destruction of Israel they're radical Muslims sworn to the destruction of Israel that's a fact they have brought much suffering on the people of Lebanon they are they are brought suffering on Americans through history and others with suicide bombings and they have brought suffering on the people of Israel they are sworn the destruction of Israel so if Israel is able to take any of them out they would do it now here's the thing if it was just a regular war and now they're bombing us they're bombing Israel Israel is bombing them if that's what was taking place then for sure there would be a good number of civic civilian casualties it's just gonna happen especially because Hezbollah like Hamas embeds itself in the midst of civilian populations if there were several civilian casualties several civilian deaths with the pages blowing up the walkie-talkies blowing up we grieve over that for sure but that would be a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a fraction what would happen with normal war knows this was far more targeted and precise than any war could be just to put that in context all right let's let's try Alex again are you there sir in Pennsylvania okay now you may be hearing me but I'm not hearing you so I'm not sure truth if something's up I'll go to a couple other call every so often this happens let's see let's go to John in Washington State are you there okay I'm just gonna talk a little bit more everybody stay where you are Alex John William truth is on with another line so our guys will be communicating with the studio in Winston-Salem that they obviously have a setting wrong so our friends truth studio right now I cannot hear the callers there is a setting wrong on your system there I cannot hear the callers truth so we need you to fix that and as soon as you have give me a notice that you have otherwise we will get another way to get your questions and we'll answer them but stay right where you are all right Israel was took out over a hundred rocket launchers that were ready to go overnight and has been bombing Hezbollah apparently taken out some of its most senior leaders military leaders and others and and Hezbollah remember immediately after October 7th was now in the battle lobbying in missiles themselves they claim last I read they claimed that they had no knowledge of October 7th others say of course it was coordinated by Iran overall in any case and and both of them are proxies Hamas and Hezbollah are proxies I still grieve over death even though it's the death of a terrorist because that is someone created an image of God someone for whom Jesus died and someone who could have been used by God and been a blessing to others and even if the person was an arch terrorist that died in unrepentant sin and what happened to them is justice even so you still have the fact that what about the three-year-old child that was left behind that was daddy that was killed yeah daddy may have been evil but there's still suffering involved that that's that's the point and I grieve over that all right so once more truth we cannot hear the callers all right cannot hear a single caller I'm gonna try one more just in case you've gotten this fixed let's go over to William are you there sir yes can you hear me I can hear you so maybe we got this fixed go ahead please my question is do I pay my debt first right I'm not talking about bills and stuff like that actual debt like student loans or maybe a car payment that has interest whatever but pay my debt first or do I keep paying my tithes and offerings as I pay my debt as well right question right you don't want to look at it in a legalistic way all right in other words there's not a New Testament law requiring us to tie that was Old Testament law but there are principles that remain the same like honoring God with the firstfruits giving to him first trusting him first giving systematically giving generously so tithes always been a good pattern to follow for me and for others but you cannot teach it as if it's a law like God requires this or that I would say better to look at it like this whatever God gives you whether you made a profit selling a house whether it's your weekly income something like that that unless someone designated it this money 100% of it is to go to pay a debt or to go to to this program for the poor in which case you give that 100% of that but otherwise give to the Lord out of a generous heart the out of the firstfruits so just make it a life habit a declaration of faith okay Lord my paycheck for the week got a thousand dollars I want to honor you with the first hundred give that to you and trust you to multiply the rest and then be faithful with everything else and watch what God does so do it out of that spirit as opposed to a legalistic obligation because that's not how the Lord would want you to give and let it be all right Lord I'm honoring you I'm excited about this I'm recognizing that everything I have belongs to you and I'm giving back and I'm also part of a church part of a body so I'm sewing into that because they so into me and now you pay off your debts your other things as the money comes in and many times you're amazed to see as you're generous to the Lord and to others that he pours out generosity on you so that's how I would approach it sir all right thank you dr. Brown you are you are very welcome eight six six three four truth all right let's try Alex again in Pennsylvania are you there now yes hi dr. Brown all right so sorry about that glad to have you on yes go ahead all right so I just wanted to talk about Proverbs 17 15 where it talks about it being an abomination to acquit the guilty I mean quit the innocent and to condemn the guilty yeah you said it right the first time it quit the guilty condemn the innocent right so I I just wanted to say um when it comes to Jesus what are your thoughts about that in the sense of God's justice where like Jesus is being condemned even though he's he's innocent and that sinners are being justified even though they're guilty yeah that's a great question in other words if God detests when an earthly judge acquits the guilty and condemns the innocent then isn't he acquitting the guilty when he forgives us and condemning the innocent when Jesus dies great question so the answer would be that Jesus willingly lays down his life to take our place as an act of extraordinary love and when God then says the punishment that was do those is now being taken by my son God now can righteously justly forgive that sin otherwise it would be like double jeopardy Jesus paid for it and now you have to pay for it yourself even when you've come in repentance so that's why it says in Romans 3 so he can be just and the justifier of the one who believes in Jesus or in 1st John 1 that he is faithful and just if we can if we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive ourselves and cleanse us from all unrighteousness so it would be it would be looking at it like this if a judge says to a gangster all right you have defrauded people of ten million dollars but you go out the door okay you sir you have faithfully paid your bills all your life I'm throwing you in jail for the rest of your life that would be abominable if someone says listen I know that that that you have defrauded people of millions of dollars I am going to pay that off pay that off for you and as a result you become a different person that would be an act of love another person changing would be an act of righteousness that comes out of it so I'd love the question but that would be my answer okay all right can I ask another question sure go ahead so basically out in terms of keeping the commandments Paul talks about there being a righteousness of God apart from the law and like in in Ecclesiastes it is to fear good yeah actually sorry you're you're you're cutting out there yeah so let me just answer when I can the righteousness that comes apart from the law is righteousness through faith in Jesus when God pronounces us righteous he pronounces us right in his sight through the blood of his son and it is apart from our works of righteousness apart from our keeping the Sabbath apart from how much we pray apart from all the good that we do it is not based on our good works it's based on what Jesus has done and who he is hey I appreciate the call we'll be right back it's the line of fire with your host dr. Michael Brown get on the line of fire by calling eight six six three four truth here again is dr. Michael Brown so much for joining us hey just a reminder I was signing copies of our brand-new books not released officially till October 8th but we got advanced copies hearts of compassion backbones of steel how to discuss controversial topics with love and kindness I'm just looking at our website here and just looking at what's across here in terms of what's on the home page okay well make sure you know how to get this book sorry for a double checking here we want to send this to you as a thank-you gift as a token of appreciation for your gift of any size helping us stand with Israel at a critical time in history pushing back against the lies of anti-semitism while reaching out to the lost sheep of the House of Israel with the good news of the Messiah the books that must read I believe you're gonna be inspired encouraged with a lot of understanding of how we can live out bringing grace and truth together in the midst of the culture wars parts of compassion backbones of steel yours for your gift of any size as you stand with us to stand with Israel call eight hundred five three eight fifty two seventy five eight hundred five three eight five two seven five all right with that we go back to the phones we'll try to connect again with John in Washington State are you there yes sir can you hear me yeah I can thank you well thanks for taking my call dr. Brown I just had a just quick question I've always been curious and did you know it'd be kind of relevant to the what's going on right now some people I'm kind of ministering to and I just wonder if you wouldn't mind sharing a little bit you've talked about how there's a period of time where you felt like you left your first love mm-hmm and I was just curious what it's I mean if you don't if it's not too personal like how'd that how'd that take place in your in your life and like and how'd you get out of that and then also like what did what did it look like how did it manifest itself you bet you bet in my book revival or we die I have a whole chapter sharing that with intimate prayers I prayed things like that revival or we die and I've got some exciting news for next year we're gonna be sharing more of my story that I believe will bless and edify well we'll talk about that in a few months but I know I'm very happy to share these things openly certain things that our lives we share openly certain we don't and yeah it's very intimate but it's the kind of thing I can share so when I got saved I just madly in love with the Lord and then the more eyes I grew in the Lord the more time I want to spend with him by the time I was saved a year I spent at least six or seven hours every single day alone with God in prayer in the word and I mean prayer in the word not distracted not doing anything else at least six or seven hours a day by the time I was saved 10 11 years working on my doctorate in Near Eastern languages and literatures active in my church younger elder technically elder in training adults in the school teacher would preach periodically travel with a band and shared the gospel and you know with a Christian band and call people attacks righteousness and by the way you're gonna be able to hear me but not speak because there's a lot of background noise where you are that's we're hearing so I was still active as a believer a strong testimony people in grad school knew me as a believer Nancy and I took in refugees and other needy people in our home we were living out the gospel in many ways I thought I had grown in wisdom but in reality by the time I was saved 11 years I could go an entire year and not even spend one day with one full hour in prayer in a day it used to be hours every day I could go one full year without even fasting a single day and I loved the Lord in a certain way I was committed but I had left my first love what happened was Nancy knew something was missing was praying for me my sister-in-law Robin Nancy's sister who we had helped lead to the Lord early on in our years right right when we were getting married she came to faith she had kept the fire burning was praying and we had conflicts over doctrine and things like that and so she was really praying for God to awaken me and a guy came over what she visited one night and I thought he was kind of flaky or weird last name but God used him to speak prophetically to Nancy and me and that was the beginning of it that was early in 82 and then as the months went on I just began to get more convicted I remember praying fervently for revival and outpouring in May of 82 and the next morning waking up feeling embarrassed because I hadn't prayed with such fervor in years I was embarrassed but I thought what is the matter with you so God just began to unpea layer after layer of hardness of heart of other junk of pride that was the biggest thing pride and and intellectual theological pride and he brought me to repentance over a period of months and showed me he was going to send an outpouring of the Spirit to the church I was part of it would come through me and it did November 21st of 82 for three months and six days we saw many people come to deep repentance many dramatically powerfully filled with the Spirit ultimately what was happening was was rejected by the other leaders there God moved me on and we've seen his blessing ever since with a fresh passion desire to be with them that being said a few years ago I really felt a deepening of that again not like it had been way way back when I'd really left my first love but just in other ways just let me say it like this I God's not had to rebuke me for laziness over the decades it's been for overwork it's been for running too much it's been running too hard I find it much easier to do than to be so these last three plus years now take one weekend a month just to seek the Lord is to be with him to spend hours with him and that's been revolutionary again actually cut back from travel which was a step of faith to do that because traveling is a major part of our ministry so to me ultimately ministry can't be the the highest goal or priority being with the Lord must be my greatest joy cannot be ministry accomplishments or seeing God do things which is wonderful but just the joy of his presence and his beauty and it comes with a fresh hunger and desire for the word that it's not okay I have to read I can't well I can't wait to get in the word I just can't wait to be with the Lord that to me is really walking in first love and then of course out of that comes an even greater zeal to share the faith and and I hope until the day I die that he keeps bringing me into a deeper place or anything that's been lost gets restored so that is the answer to your question all right Beth Randy you are next got one line open 8 6 6 3 4 8 7 8 8 4 is the number to call I don't want to take a question that I can't answer now or have you finished so if you patiently wait on the other side of the break we will address it let me just say this to each of you if you are convicted of leaving your first love maybe they're sinful strongholds in your life that weren't there before maybe and this is something else I realized things that would have bothered me or convicted me didn't the same way they used to I was not lax in my life but I'd lived more carefully before that so you're talking about in the late seventies early eighties I was not lax in my life but things that were convicted me more it can give me less maybe that's what's happening in you maybe the way you act you're more out of control your temper used to be under control physical disciplines used to walking you don't walk in anymore whatever it is it's not God condemning you because you might feel miserable over it even as I'm talking the Holy Spirit may be convicting it's not condemnation it's it's the Lord drawing you in it's the Lord graciously drawing you in he also misses spending intimate time with you when I'll spend hours in prayer or before the Lord and didn't even say Lord I still can't believe you actually enjoyed our time together I I can't believe you enjoyed our time together Wow but that's who he is Jesus the night he was betrayed says with disciples in Luke 22 I've eagerly desired heat this meal with you before I suffer Wow Wow what a Savior all right we'll be right back it's the line of fire with your host dr. Michael Brown get on the line of fire by calling eight six six three four truth here again is dr. Michael Brown welcome back friends to the line of fire Michael Brown delighted to be with you eight six six three four truth we go straight to the phones Beth in Queens New York welcome to the line of fire thank you very much dr. Brown my question thank you my question is about Gehazi in in first Kings 5 Neiman's leprosy gets stuck to him yeah and then a few chapters later which I'm assuming happens in chronological order he's speaking to one of the Kings about some of the miracles that Elisha has done and and that sets up for the woman to come and claim her lands the woman who Elijah raised her son from the dead so how could he have leprosy how could he be leprous yeah well you didn't have to go in it in a leper colony in other words there was there was a skin condition that modern-day leprosy is Hansen's disease which is what we understand something different biblical days some severe skin condition so there were there were rights that you went through but it's not like you were isolated in the leper colony for life or something like that so you could have the condition and just be functioning there's no indication that he was healed which is interesting right it's everything we read we would understand that it was his condition but obviously he still was devoted to to to Elisha and recognize God's hand on his life but yeah you wouldn't have to be in total isolation because of it in some special colony that's why you know a leper comes to Jesus asking for healing it's not like the whole crowd you could be among people there were just certain ritual requirements touching things like that but you could be around other people oh I thought I thought lepers had to live separated and I thought that's where the lepers actually yelled to Jesus from afar the the case where there was ten of them right in my mind it's like they stood away from afar and in the Old Testament didn't it say that they had to leave the camp no there were quarantine rules but you didn't have to live in a separate leper colony there were rules of quarantine there were rules of cleansing and going through you know when you could be reincorporated in society or in normal life or things like that and if you were touched by someone it would have certain implications but that they all had to live in separated leper colonies that was not the norm at that time just for anyone with that severe skin disease okay thank you so much yeah it's a great logical question appreciate it okay thanks eight six six three four truth let us go over to Randy in Georgia welcome to the line of fire my question is what do you think the founding fathers would do if they were back among us today and some other president state of the Union with regard to what well the condition this country is in right now I think I think they'd be let me say this the founders understood this was a great experiment democracy stepping out in this way in an unprecedented way for a nation they understood that that's that's one thing and they understood by and large that the the Constitution we had would only work for a moral and religious people because otherwise you know what it's like you can give certain liberties to a 15 year old that you can't give to a 10 year old and in certain liberties you can give to a 20 year old that you can't give to a 15 year old so if America is gonna act like a bunch of babies then we can't handle the liberty that we have so even though not all the founding fathers were equally religious religious life in America was pretty much presumed moral standards were pretty much presumed so I would think sir that no matter who's been president for some years now that they would be very grieved over what's happened with this experiment that they would recognize they'd be stunned and again this is pure speculation and I'm no no expert on the father's but you've asked me they'd be stunned by how America has grown they'd be stunned by the degree of prosperity you put aside all the technology and this whole different world they'd be stunned by the influence we have around the world knowing just the weakness of the colonies and what we were birthed out of I think they would be they'd be grieved over the level of immorality over the level of godlessness over the level of narcissism over the level of division and then other sins that are prevalent in our country on so many levels they'd certainly be grieved over the the high percentage of drug deaths and other things that plague us obviously abortion and other things like that they'd have no context or even a concept of same-sex quote marriage so yeah I believe they would be heartsick in many many ways whether it was Republican administration or Democratic administration as I said if our if our if our theme was make America righteous I was gonna be a theme make America righteous we'd realize no political party could do it so we vote on issues we vote on policies as to who we feel would be best to represent us but I believe they'd be heartsick in many ways hey I appreciate the call Randy thank you so much not a question that I've been asked a lot eight six six three four truth let's go over to Luke in Tennessee welcome to the line of fire hey dr. Brown such an honor to speak with you I love your program watch for several several years now I have a question that I want to make very concise I'm a 27 year old evangelist I travel I preach revival full-time and in doing so I really am burning to see more than just a church service I'm burning to see cities and regions go into revival and experience the outpouring of the Spirit and so by studying some of the previous moves of God and even in past history and even in more recent history that have went into regional or national revival what interests me about some of these moves is how God will use people so powerfully and so dynamically in one window of their life but then it seems they live the rest of their life almost in ministerial obscurity it seems that they are not moving in the power and the anointing that they once were moving in and so yourself having been around a lot of these men of God and seeing a lot of these moves what would you say how would you speak to that why does it seem that sometimes people can be used so powerfully by God in one season of their life and then never see an increase of that or maybe slip into a season of obscurity yeah thank you for the question I appreciate all the questions today there are many possible answers to this but I want to be as practical as I can when I answer the first thing is we don't know the plan of God for example Evan Roberts who is mightily used by God as a 26 year old coal mine in 1994 925 and then it's basically an obscurity thereafter now on the one hand he some say he had a breakdown after Welsh revival the intensity of the pressure but from what I understand he felt his ministry was prayer thereafter and that his whole his whole issue was to get the church on its knees and he spent the rest of the most of his life most of the rest of his life excuse me given to the ministry of prayer his and the theme was bend the church save the world bend the church save the world now I'm not an expert on that that's what I've read and understood to the extent that's true so be it God has a plan let his work be done sometime I fully believe that many of the first will be last many of the last will be first as Jesus said and that we'll be quite shocked to see the people who really made a difference and the people that we thought were making a big difference that it was really someone else's prayers that were carrying it well one thing another thing is maybe the history of that person's life up to then was was not as deep and solid and consistent as it should have been so God found a willing vessel but that vessel could only go so far before well that vessel would burn out or collapse and and they never they just wanted to live on the fumes instead of fundamental relationship with God yeah a third thing is that you pray you pray you believe you cry out for years and years and years years the thing finally happens and now you want to kind of live on the nostalgia and the looking back but ultimately ultimately the goal is to build on whatever God did now the people that I know that were involved in the outpouring in Toronto I wasn't ever there during it was only afterwards but the people that I know that were keep leaders involved with it they've continued to burn over the years they haven't seen another Toronto but they've seen God move through them and touch others yeah outpouring and gifts imparted Steve Hill continued to burn bright after Brownsville until he passed away John Kilpatrick was used by God to host another outpouring move of the Spirit for several years when he was in Alabama he continued strong Linda Cooley had some health issues but his heart continues to burn for the Lord and obviously my heart does but for me it's been a matter of we had the outpouring God promised me in the spring of 83 I'd serve in a revival that would touch the whole world for years I've said over 130 nations came to Brownsville I found out from a colleague who was counting and until they stopped counting it was actually over 150 they said I have well every time someone came I wrote it down I stopped when I got to 150 what God showed me what happened happened and to this day we have missionaries around the world some of literally be on the on the field 25 years now bearing amazing fruit to this day so the fires continue to burn for me it was a matter of building on that and now the theme of moral cultural revolution etc but still for me the greatest goal Nancy and I have been talking about this kind of day and night in recent days great it the greatest focus of my life right now and I'm not saying that God knows as I've got to be with him more I've got to be there God more and the greatest goal is to see his fire burning in me like never before and whatever comes out of it comes out of it and yeah well the season of revival by the time was done but we were worn out and exhausted and and you know it would have been a great time to take a sabbatical but that was the time we couldn't we went from revival into a situation worth with were difficult split and I were all just trying to make it yeah it was you can only run like that so long but my goal is I want to carry it if I want to carry that far he used me in 82 83 I said wherever I go after that I want to carry that I want you to stay on the line Luke and I want to send you two books so truth please get Luke's address I want to send you two books seize the moment how to fuel the fires of revival that's when God moves how to fuel it and sustain it seize the moment and turn the tide how to unite a cultural awakening how to go from revival to reformation from outpouring to awakening so truth please get Luke's address so I can send those two books seize the moment turn the tide I want to sew into you bottom line pressing after him pressing after him so whether you're in the midst of a regional revival or alone in your hotel room we're pressing in the new of God the same God bless with the art that it's the line of fire with your host dr. Michael Brown get on the line of fire by calling eight six six three four truth here again is dr. Michael Brown did you get our super important frontline newsletter from early this month since that just days ago on Israel with amazing Jewish testimonies of people coming to faith you didn't get it oh here's how you get it right now unless you're driving go to the line of fire dot org take a moment the line of fire dot org go there and click subscribe just give us your name email and zip code we'll get it out to you put you in our welcome tour let you know about the thousands of free resources we have for you free as an FR EE it's we're here to serve you and support you and as you give to us you help us serve and support so many others all right let us go to Joshua in Texas welcome to the line of fire hey dr. Brown you're awesome when I grow up I want to be like you you're so awesome thank you for everything you do my question I have to if you can't get to the second one no big problem I don't want to misquote you I think you said in the past about and I agree terrorist group against Israel needs to be eradicated completely somewhere in that I believe you said something like that is that correct yeah in other words when Hamas for it for Israel to make sure Hamas does not do what it does again it has to be eradicated as a military power as a terrorist organization obviously what I'd love to see more than anything is that the Hamas terrorists repent and get right with God and are not executed and maybe if they really change people get a lighter sentence you know they have to obviously pay on certain level for their crimes those who haven't been involved in atrocities could just be repent so that's the goal but from a military perspective yeah Israel would have to eradicate Hamas for sure okay awesome so I guess my question is and I hear you and I totally agree in the light of like you know a pedophile like sex trafficking and even like one individual abusive person is there any grounds for a Christian to ask God to remove this person or an individual like God I pray for the salvation of this gentleman but this dude is raining havoc on this lady man just like make his life a little shorter or you know in that sense or like man guy can you remove all the pedophiles in America right now is there any light of that or all right so here's my question here's the problem it's a great question number number one of course we want to pray for their repentance and salvation and of course we're asking God intervene stop them from hurting more people stop them from may police apprehend them may they may they stop whatever it is the problem is where do we draw the line in other words okay what about the person screw to grow up to be an Adolf Hitler if we knew who they were in advance do you terminate their life then there's actually it's a pseudographical work so it's it's not it's it's it's in Jewish tradition as opposed to Bible and attributed to someone else but Abraham has taken up into heaven and with an angel is is showing him what's happening on the earth and he sees somebody killing somebody goes Lord smite him so the angel smites him kills him and then here's a couple committing adultery and Lord smite them and they they die and then someone still Lord smite them and the angel kills them and then God says Abraham Abraham stop you're killing my creation that's the problem that how far does it go if we're praying against God's I could say God stop this evil stop this evil stop you know Lord put an end to human trafficking of course I can pray prayers like you know Lord made may people be apprehended maybe the maybe they stopped in their tracks bringing through repentance and salvation but Lord stop them from doing evil stop them from kidnapping another child Lord intervene so our prayers do make a difference but human evil is going to be here and we don't want to just be calling down fire and everyone so absolutely I can pray if it's World War II God stop the evil of the Nazis stop the the madness of the Japanese Japanese regime bring into repentance been interest salvation and and Lord stop their evil may there be military victory made there may they be turned back may they be judged I could easily pray that but you don't want to be calling down fire from heaven I think of David Berkowitz who was the son of Sam serial color he got radically converted in prison and his testimony is Minister Grace to many I think of my best friends on the planet yesup Adam who was an axolite terrorist he was a Maoist terrorist in India before he got saved and he's I don't know any human being on the planet that's a truer Christian than him you know what about me in my years of rebellion and sin and so that's where we have to be careful and and and the other thing is obviously God's not just stopping evil and okay what about the drug dealer who gets the person hooked on drugs and then that person hooked on drugs ends up doing this which then leads to this which then leads to this and then so how far down the chain do we go and that's that's the problem and we have to say God hasten the return of your of your son and bring justice we pray for it we pray against evil but we understand God's not just gonna kill everybody doing bad stuff otherwise that would wipe out the planet oh that's awesome yes ask God to intervene rather than ask you cut it you know thank you God put a stop to this act your God help the law enforcement agents expose that you know 100 different prayers but don't just pray God kill them all kill them all because it okay but what about this one should we pray God kill all the abortion doctors kill all the abortion nurses kill all the abortion security you know people gonna pray so that that that's where it becomes problematic and one last thing when Jesus talks to us about praying for our enemies or those who persecute us those are people personally coming against us and trying to hurt us as opposed to if we knew that radical Islamic terrorists were about to assault an innocent village somewhere and God stop them God stop I'd have no problem praying that and and again he knows he knows how all right thank you for the call I appreciate it thank you have a good day yes sir let's see let us go over to Shane in Louisiana welcome to the line of fire thank you for taking my call dr. Brown I want to ask a question about Philippians 2 7 I'll preface it that some people teach that Christ laid aside his deity and he operated by the Holy Spirit as a man so believers can do the same thing what did he empty himself with he laid aside his divine prerogatives in other words he was always fully God and in any moment could have chosen to draw on his deity yet he laid aside his divine prerogatives as if he did not have those powers so the Spirit comes and why did the Spirit anoint him why did he need to be anointed by the Spirit why in Luke 4 does he quote from Isaiah 61 ruach Adonai Elohim alaya must mashach OTA because the Lord has anointed me why why does he say the Lord has anointed him what does he say in in Luke 11 and Matthew 12 that he drives demons by the Spirit of God so he's doing these things by the power of the Spirit which he had without measure he'd said he could do only what he saw the father doing while on earth he didn't know the day of his return so he willingly emptied himself of divine prerogatives I don't believe when he was a baby that he faked being a baby that he faked crawling that he faked learning to talk because actually he could speak every language on the planet fluently out of the world no I don't believe he could because he laid those aside willingly so he didn't lay aside his deity but his divine prerogatives now is there also an example that we can do what he did by the same spirit absolutely however he had the spirit without measure we don't the spirit is given in different ways to different people so we have intimacy with God through the Spirit the Spirit dwells within us but to one one gift is given to another another gift is given so the fullness of the Spirit was on him he received the Spirit without measure in that regard the Spirit is poured out on the whole body and individually we are equipped in power and in power but yes not in terms of we're gonna do everything he did all the time and be Jesus Jesus is unique God in the flesh we are frail human beings through whom he works and we recognize that massive distinction however for sure by the Spirit the sick can be healed through us by the Spirit we can prophesy it's the same spirit by the Spirit sometimes the dead are even raised by the Spirit demons are driven out so through the body the fullness of the Spirit glorifying Jesus can be expressed not through any individual does that make sense to you absolutely all right hey thank you for the thank you you bet friends we are out of time as always wish we could get to every single caller but thank you for enriching us today with your calls with your questions thank you for our truth studio for it handling all the calls in our studio right here in North Carolina another part of North Carolina for making this broadcast possible each of you who are torchbearers monthly supporters thank you from the heart and you get a letter from me every month but thank you from the heart I hope you enjoy the messages and resources we send your way you're helping us touch people around America around the world and in Israel everyone that's helped with a one-time gift thank you all of you who pray for us thank you from the heart together we are making a difference be encouraged Jesus Yeshua is Lord of all we will be back with you you
