The following is a pre-recorded program.
Can a true Christian vote Democrat in this presidential election? It's time for The Line of Fire with your host, biblical scholar and cultural commentator, Dr. Michael Brown. Your voice for moral sanity and spiritual clarity. Call 866-34-TRUTH to get on the line of fire. And now here's your host, Dr. Michael Brown. Hey friends, this is Michael Brown.
Travel day today for me from San Francisco back to North Carolina. So I will not be taking calls today and we are audio only for one more day. But we're going to touch on a controversial subject, a subject that could be very offensive to some. But my goal is not to sit here as your judge. I'm not your God. You're not my God. We give account to the only God. He's our Lord. He's our master.
We give account to Him. I just want to have an honest conversation about a very controversial subject and often depending on our ethnic background, our racial background, our cultural background, our spiritual background, we'll have very, very different answers to these questions. I remember during the presidency of Donald Trump and we were getting into the 2020 elections, as far as I recall consecutive calls on The Line of Fire broadcast, one caller calling in and said you cannot possibly be a Christian and vote for Donald Trump and gave the reasons. The next caller, you cannot possibly be a Christian and not vote for Donald Trump and gave the reasons. And I remember saying, you know, I thought on the day we stand before God, He's going to ask us, what did we do with Jesus?
What did we do with Donald Trump? So I'm not saying that I am judging your salvation or God is judging your salvation by how you vote in this next election. However, I am asking an honest question. Just as people have said, how could you possibly vote for Donald Trump, saying he's this, he's this, he's this, regardless of policies, how could you possibly vote for a man like that and be a follower of Jesus at the same time? I'll share a dialogue I had with someone recently about that very thing. Well, I want to ask the same question on the Democrat side.
How can you possibly be a Christian and vote for a candidate with such and such policies? And we'll talk about it. We'll talk about it. I regret the fact that I can't take calls today, but God willing, tomorrow, next day, we'll be able to take calls and you can interact and give me a piece of your mind. Before, before we do any of that, thanks for meeting me on the road. Some of you came up to introduce yourselves as I was out speaking, some of our torchbearers.
It was a joy to meet you, Brian and BJ, if you're out there listening, a joy to meet you, seeing you face to face. So I had a beautiful time of ministry. I started Wednesday night in Denver at a church that's really going after the Lord and really encountering him and growing. And then Friday flew over to Pasco, Washington, a little airport there. I think just two gates there in Pasco and Saturday morning spoke at the Holy Spirit Conference there. Probably several thousand people. It was a great crowd, maybe three thousand people spoke about God coming as a refiner's fire and large altar call of people wanting to get right with God and purified.
And then literally I had to go from there straight to the airport, flew to Danville, California, and then spoke there, actually flew to San Francisco. Then about an hour ride to Danville, pretty much went straight from there to the meeting and taught on Israel. But the Bible says about the lasting significance of Israel. What about Israel in the end times?
What about Israel in the war in Gaza? Then spoke twice yesterday morning in Danville on what the Bible says about the woman Jezebel, the demonic spirit behind Jezebel and how that affects us today. And today a travel day back. So thanks for praying. The Lord is doing wonderful, amazing things. And those who pray for us, you're part of the reward. Those who support us financially, you help us go around the world.
So thank you. And those of you who are still not getting our frontline newsletter, we had a large amount sign up over the weekend because I was on the road and I said, hey, if you're not getting our emails, sign up now. If you're not getting the frontline newsletter, it's life changing. It's life impacting. It's inspirational. It's informational.
It's impartational. Be sure to sign up. It's free.
It's our way of being a blessing to you. It comes once a month. It's digital. You can read it in any platform. Go to thelineoffire.org.
Thelineoffire.org and click subscribe. Okay. Let's ask the question now. Why would a Bible believing Christian vote Democrat? I have had callers over the years. I've asked, I've opened the phones and said, Hey, I'm not going to argue with you. I just want to understand you. Why would you, if you say you're pro-life, if you oppose the redefinition of marriage, and those are, you know, big issues where the parties would disagree, why then would you vote Democrat? And I had, I had people call, some I've dialogued with off the air, you know, just folks I've gotten to know and talk to about these issues. I even wrote an article or a chapter in a book, a strong right-wing conservative book explaining why some Christians would vote Democrat saying, I completely disagree with the reasoning, but here's why they would.
So I've done my best to understand. And some of the things that have been presented to me are these. Number one, it's argued that politics is not going to change abortion. It's not going to change gay activism and things like that.
That's going to have to happen on a grassroots level with God changing people's hearts. So how you vote on that issue really doesn't count. And others said, this is before Trump appointing three justices who then were instrumental in overturning Roe v. Wade. People also said you had all these abortions during the Bush presidencies, H.W.
Bush, George Bush, even Reagan, who was a strong pro-life president. Nothing changes with the president. So we can't worry about that when it comes to our vote.
That's been the argument. And they would also say that other issues having to do with marriage, family, politics is not going to be the issue. The issue is going to be grassroots. And some have even said to me, look, there are Democrats that are elected officials who are pastors of churches who on Sunday are preaching against abortion, against homosexual activism, and they are Democrats serving in local congressional offices and things like that, or national offices.
How could that be? So they are saying, look, they have these convictions, but they understand that politics is not going to solve these, and therefore the Democrats work better for them in local education or local issues having to do with babies once they are born and caring. You know, someone said the strongest pro-life states are the weakest when it comes to caring for children outside the womb and caring for the poor and things like that. So they would agree with Democrats on other issues and therefore would say, we're voting because of that and our vote is not going to matter either way when it comes to abortion or same-sex marriage, etc. So I understand that viewpoint. And for those who've been listening, I've been saying, look, the Republicans have really gutted their pro-life platform and they've removed any statements having to do with opposing same-sex marriage and upholding marriage as God intended it, and they only have some lines about radical transgender activism. So the Republican Party is hardly the pro-life party now, etc.
So I get all that. And I have said, if you do vote for Donald Trump, vote for him with your eyes wide open. He is not the political savior.
He clearly doesn't know what it means to be a Christian. He's not some Bible believer that even if you prefer his policies to those Democrats. So I'm not coming in some starry-eyed Trump is going to make America great. Trump's our man and the Republicans, that's God's party.
I'm not coming in with that position. I'm a registered independent. I've voted GOP for years because of policy, but I'm a registered independent out of principle.
So those who don't know me want you to hear all this. But here's why I have an issue with the idea that your vote doesn't matter when it comes to same-sex coat marriage or when it comes to abortion and things like that. Here's why I have a very, very strong difference with it. And then we're going to look at what the party say. We're going to look at what the Democrats are saying. I'm going to share a dialogue I have with you with someone who's a pro-life Christian, but here's why he's voting for Kamala Harris.
So I'm going to get into all that. But first, the larger philosophical argument. You better believe your votes do matter in terms of what ultimately happens with policy. For example, as I just mentioned, voting for Donald Trump brought about the appointing of three Supreme Court justices who will serve for life unless someone ultimately upends it and change our whole system. But they will serve for life, and they are largely conservative in their points of view.
They have been instrumental in passing or fighting for our religious rights and freedoms. They're just instrumental, two of them out of the three that were appointed, instrumental in voting against the gutting of Title IX, which was under Biden-Harris, which would basically take away distinction between males and females in sports, the whole thing of Title IX. So someone who identified as female was actually male, who now participates in women's sports, completely guts the whole purpose of it. The Supreme Court said no to that. So this affects your kids in school, this affects your daughter, but whether she gets a scholarship or not, or whether a boy who identifies as a girl is faster than her and gets the track scholarship that she was going to get in college, or the softball scholarship, or whatever it is, these are things that actually matter. And when it comes down to states, each individual state, think of this, that with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, it's now up to each state to pass laws, pro-life laws, heartbeat laws, things like that, fetal pain laws. They can pass these pro-life laws in state after state after state after state after state, whereas if you vote the other way, then those laws don't get passed.
So these are life and death matters. You better believe that policy comes out of this. Now, it turns out that it was a conservative president, a Republican president, who appointed Anthony Kennedy to the Supreme Court. People warned, some warned at the outset I was not focused on that or even aware of what the real issues were back at that time when Kennedy was being appointed.
But I didn't have as much political focus because I wasn't addressing the issues on radio and in articles and things like that. But there were those who said he's going to go the wrong way on key issues and he wasn't the right appointee. So it's true that he was appointed by a Republican president and that he ultimately ended up being the swing vote who redefined marriage.
So that can't happen. But you've got a far better chance of a conservative justice being appointed than a radical leftist justice being appointed. Listen, America, in terms of the courts, in terms of religious freedoms, in terms of pro-life, in terms of quite a few other issues, in terms of radical LGBTQ activism, would look very different right now if Hillary Clinton had defeated Donald Trump and she had been the one making three court appointees.
We see the one appointee by Biden Harris in terms of radical leftist views on some subjects. So you better believe your vote does matter in terms of major national policies. Now, here's the deal. As I explained in my book Turn the Tide, changing laws alone won't do it. You've got to change laws and hearts. But if you change hearts, then ultimately you've got to vote to vote to change laws. It's not either or. It's got to be both and. And there's also the question of symbolism. Do you want to be known as someone who voted for a person who openly, plainly espouses views that are apparent in the sight of God? You want to say, oh yeah, I voted for that person who holds the X, Y, Z views, even though I did it with their own views. That to me is also very problematic. We're going to talk trash-tasking with the policies and you come back.

Welcome back friends to the Line of Fire broadcast. Michael Brown asking the question, can a true Christian vote for a Democratic presidential candidate now in the 2024 election? Can you vote for Kamala Harris without compromising your values before God? That question will obviously come up about President Trump. Can you vote for him as a true Christian without compromising your values before God?
What about Kamala Harris? We're going to talk about that. And if you know me at all on the show, my goal is not to start controversy.
My goal is not just to create all kinds of heat. I want there to be light. I want there to be insight. I want there to be understanding. And then when we differ, we will have a friendly conversation. I'm not taking calls. Those watching on YouTube or Facebook, you know that we are audio only today.
This is a travel day from San Francisco. When I was talking to one of the couples, Torchbearers, that I met in Danville, California, the husband was saying, hey, you know, your ministry has been so great for him, for this Jewish man himself, a Jewish believer. He said, thanks for Triveda also. And his wife said, oh, yeah, no Pelea, nitric oxide.
He's into all that. So thank you, Triveda, for your generosity towards us and for putting on such great wellness products. So friends, check them out.
I use them daily. I think that you'll benefit as well. All right. So let's just say we lived in the days of slavery.
All right. We live in the days of slavery. And you've got one candidate who is an abolitionist. He wants to end slavery and the slave trade in America. But he's weak on other policies. He's weak on economy. He's weak on national security, whatever the policies, the big issues were back then.
All right. In the mid 1800s, you have another candidate who is militantly pro-slavery, absolutely pro-slavery, but much, much stronger on economy, national security, et cetera. As a true follower of Jesus, could you possibly justify voting for the pro-slavery candidate because they were stronger on these other issues? I could not.
I could not. The worst case scenario to me would be that I couldn't cast a vote either way. Let's say the person who is the abolitionist was also a liar, a despicable character, nasty, divisive, harmful in their personalities. And there's no way you wanted that person to be the president, but they were strong abolitionists. Maybe the worst case scenario is you can't vote for either of them. But under no circumstances could I, as a follower of Jesus, vote for a pro-slavery candidate.
So that's how I feel today. My opinion, that's how I feel today when it comes to voting for someone like Kamala Harris, who would be the most radically pro-abortion president in American history. Let me read to you. This is from the 2024 Democratic platform. So I'm not making this up.
This is not something I heard somebody say. I'm reading verbatim from Democrats.org where we stand on the issues 2024. Under quote, reproductive rights, Democrats want to codify Roe v. Wade into law to protect women's freedom, to make their own health care decisions, while extreme MAGA Republicans are working to ban abortion nationwide. Now, Trump has said he does not want to ban abortion nationwide. He wants each state to decide.
He's been clear on that. But yes, many conservative Republicans absolutely would like there to be a national ban on abortion. However, notice Democrats want to codify Roe v. Wade. That would overturn every pro-life state law right now. If you vote Democrat, you are voting for the reinforcing of Roe v. Wade, but codified in an even stronger way nationally. So that would now overrule all the pro-life advances that have taken place since the overturning of Roe v. Wade. All the pro-life legal decisions would basically be thrown out, thrown out, and they'd be thrown out with the help of your vote.
I'm going to keep reading. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris believe that reproductive health care decisions should be made by women with their doctors, not politicians. After Donald Trump overturned Roe v. Wade and ripped away the 50 years of women's rights, Joe and Kamala took action to protect and strengthen reproductive health care access and ongoing MAGA Republican attacks. In other words, they strengthened abortion. This includes signing three executive orders to strengthen—I'm going to change the words reproductive health care access, all right? And I'm going to change it to abortion rights. This includes signing three executive orders to strengthen abortion rights, fighting for a woman's right to emergency care, and to emergency medical care defending and goes on.
All right, so this is pretty radical. Donald Trump, quote, proudly overturned Roe and brags about unleashing extreme abortion bans across the country that are putting women's lives at risk and threatening doctors with jail time. He has called these state abortion bans a beautiful thing to watch and said that women who have an abortion should be punished. Obviously, he didn't say that. If elected, Trump will ban abortion nationwide.
Again, he didn't say that either. And he refuses to support nationwide protection for IVF, his Close Allies Project 2025, which Trump has completely disavowed. Proposal includes plans to attack reproductive health care in all 50 states without the help of Congress, including banning abortion, restricting access to birth control, and prosecuting and jailing women and doctors for sending or receiving abortion medication in the mail. So there are some exaggerations here in terms of what Republican policy would be or what Trump's own views are.
But without question, they have rightly represented their own views. Radical, pro-abortion, re-enshining of Roe v. Wade. And remember, there are states now in America where if a woman right up to the time of pregnancy said, I'm having a nervous breakdown, I can't have this baby, I can't have this baby, a healthy baby could be killed in the womb under Democratic leadership. And this would only reinforce those statutes.
That's what you would be voting for. You say, but I don't believe in it. But you are casting a vote to empower people to do that. And if there's blood on their hands, then there's blood on your hands.
That's why I could not do it. Now, I'm going to share with you a dialogue I had with a pro-life Christian who said he's voting for Kamala Harris. In fact, let me go there now. This was shared privately, but I can read it publicly because this reflects the views of David French. And so there's no secret here. All right. So I wrote to David French, and I said to him, we're not close friends or anything like that. We've never talked by phone, etc. I sent him a copy of my book, The Political Seduction of the Church in 2022. And we didn't really interact after that. So I wrote to him on Friday via X. And I said, David, just a personal note to let you know I was shocked by your endorsement of VP Harris, along with the reasoning behind it, saying he was going to vote for her. And we'll probably be writing a response piece.
Should you want to have a friendly dialogue with me about this on my radio show, just let me know. Then he wrote back. And again, these are public views of his. That's why I can quote this.
She wrote, this sure thing. I'm shocked. You're shocked after one of the two candidates tried to destroy our democracy and would abandon Ukraine. But as I said, my peace, reasonable people can disagree. Then he wrote just a quick question. Are you equally shocked that Christians are supporting a man found liable for sex abuse, who attacked our democracy and has engineered the most watered down abortion plank in modern Republican history?
If not, why not? That will be an interesting part of your peace. So I asked him if he read the book I sent, et cetera. And then I sent him an article where I said, hey, if you're going to vote GOP, great, just do it with your eyes wide open. And he said, I find it interesting that you're shocked that a Christian would vote for the pro-choice candidate who hasn't tried to overthrow the government, hasn't been found liable for sex abuse, and won't abandon Ukraine to Russian aggression when you're so plainly not shocked that a Christian would vote for a pro-choice man who instigated a violent attack on the Capitol, has been found by a jury to have sexually violated a woman, not his wife, entered into a fraudulent hush money scheme to conceal an affair with a porn star, and would roll over in the face of naked aggression by a homicidal Russian dictator who is destroying Ukrainian churches by the thousands. And then I wrote back again from my full perspective, including a very strong rebuke to many of my fellow evangelicals who supported Trump, read the political seduction book. As for your comments, do you see no bias in your very statements? Have you not read the opinions of legal scholars who are not Trump supporters who believe he is the victim of lawfare? As for January 6, as I said on the air that day, while I believe Trump did not intend that there would be violence or insurrection, I held them morally responsible for the outcome of the day because of his irresponsible rhetoric. Sadly, I find unhinged irresponsible rhetoric on the left as well, leading directly to violence. As for the Ukraine, I would expect Trump to confront all parties involved and broker an end to the war, but either way, he endorsed Harris for the view of speeding the end of the Trumpist GOP. To me, that is the counsel of despair, but one that reflects your deep anti-Trumpism.
In other words, maybe Frank said. It's The Line of Fire with your host, Dr. Michael Brown. Get on the line of fire by calling 866-34 TRUTH. Here again is Dr. Michael Brown. Thanks so much for joining us here on The Line of Fire. Michael Brown, blessed and delighted to be with you.
Not taking calls, as this is a travel day back from San Francisco. Discussing the question can a true Christian vote for Kamala Harris as president. What you do in your vote is between you and God, and whichever way we vote is not going to determine whether we are saved or lost, but it is a question, are we voting according to God's heart?
Are we in harmony with the Lord? If you vote for Donald Trump, I urge you not to emulate his character. I urge you not to get caught up in the partisan politics where we bash and attack one another. I urge you not to put your trust in him to be some type of national reformer, but if you said, hey, I'm simply voting to keep Kamala Harris out of office because I believe her policies would be radical, and after all, when she was a senator, she was voted the most radical leftist senator in the Senate, which is saying a lot.
Some of the senators that are there, that is saying a lot. So if you're voting in that way or think just overall policy, he'd be better securing our borders, national security, standing with Israel, things like that. Okay, I got it. I understand. If I voted for him, those would be the reasons, but I would be very clear to say I differ with his rhetoric. I don't like his lying and exaggerating.
I think he's a bad example as the leader of our country, and to the extent the church lauds him, praises him in different ways beyond just appreciative of good policy decisions or fighting for our rights or things like that, to the extent that church lauds him or he's the prophetic man, to that extent, I would categorically disagree and distance myself from it. But I could not personally vote for a Democrat candidate because of certain blatant things in the platform and policies that I know that will advocate for, that to me are always the biggest that I look at. You say, yeah, but there were more abortions under some Republican presidents, the Democratic presidents.
I get it. But it's not because the Democratic president was doing the right things to reduce abortion. There are other social factors involved. And since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, probably at least 50,000 babies have been saved, maybe considerably higher than that.
I haven't researched in recent weeks, but it could be higher than that. In any case, let's just look at one other issue here and ask yourself, why is it that Planned Parenthood during the Democratic National Convention, which starts tonight in Chicago, why is it that Planned Parenthood is offering free vasectomies and free abortions during the convention? Yeah. Have you not read that? That this is who the party is.
This is the essence of some of the values in that case, in a sense, anti-life. So here is an article that, where was this originally posted? I'm reading it on MSN. It was originally posted LGBTQ nation newsletter.
So this is a gay website posted on MSN now. Are you ready? And it's going to contrast Donald Trump's stances on various issues having to do with LGBTQ activism and those of Kamala Harris. All right.
Are you ready? Same-sex marriage. Trump opposed same-sex marriage before becoming president and later said he's fine with it because it's now settled and irrelevant. However, his administration is still discriminated against same-sex married couples and defended anti-gay adoption agencies.
This is their views. Transgender military service. Trump implemented a ban on transgender individuals serving openly in the military.
Gender affirming medical care. Trump has promised to ban gender affirming care from minors nationwide and prohibit federal agencies from promoting the concept of sex and gender transitioned any age. LGBTQ plus employment protections. Trump's department of justice told the Supreme Court it is legal to discriminate against transgender employees. His administration also sought religious exemptions for employers who discriminate based on sexual orientation and gender identity. Transgender bathroom access.
He reversed Obama-era guidelines protecting transgender students access to bathrooms matching their gender identity. Conversion therapy. Trump's domestic policy advisor Ken Blackwell endorsed conversion therapy.
That's what they're calling it is counseling to help people overcome overcome same-sex attraction. And Trump's vice president Mike Pence made comments implying support for it too. Don't say gay laws. Trump called Florida's parental rights and education law a good move. He has pledged to deny federal funding to schools that push radical gender ideology and other inappropriate sexual or political content on our children. LGBTQ plus youth protections. Trump's administration rolled back trans inclusive education policies for the Obama era.
He has pledged to do so even more in a second term. And discrimination policies. Trump's administration sought religious exemptions to allow anti-LGBTQ discrimination called anti-LGBTQ plus laws a form of religious freedom. And that's not even considering all of the anti-LGBTQ plus tenants of project 2025 in Trump's agenda 47.
All right now Kamala Harris are you ready? Same sex marriage. Okay first Kamala Harris has long advocated for LGBTQ plus rights with her actions reflecting a commitment to equality inclusivity. Same sex marriage. She officiated gay weddings in 2004 began supporting them more vocally in 2008 and worked with President Biden in to pass the 2022 respect for marriage act ensuring government recognition of same sex marriages.
That's who you'd be voting for. Transgender military service. The Biden-Harris administration overturned Trump's ban on out trans military members. Harris opposes project 2025 which calls for a ban on trans military members. Gender-affirming medical care. As California's attorney general in 2015 she blocked gender-affirming care for trans women in prison. However the Biden-Harris administration has pushed federal health care programs to cover gender-affirming care and her 2024 election campaign frames such care as a personal decision between families and doctors. So in other words 13 year old girl confused about gender identity doctor and parents agree with the girl that she can have her breasts removed that she can now be chemically castrated as well.
Go for it. That's what they want to support. That's what you're voting for. That's what you're voting for.
Let's keep going. LGBTQ plus employment protections. The Biden-Harris administration has forbidden the anti-LGBTQ plus workplace harassment as a form of sex-based discrimination under the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
It all depends obviously on what you mean by discrimination right. Transgender bathroom access. As California's attorney general in 2016 she filed amicus briefs supporting trans people's rights to use bathrooms matching their gender identity. She has since said that anti-trans bathrooms bans deny trans people's quote right to exist.
Parents did you hear that? Every Christian parent listening if you vote for Kamala Harris you're voting to allow boys who identify as girls to share bathrooms and locker rooms with your daughters. Sir you're voting for a bill that if you go into a public bathroom would allow an obvious biological male who identifies as a female to share a bathroom with your wife and your daughter.
Just want to know what you're voting for. Conversion therapy. Call conversion therapy an abusive practice that has been repeatedly condemned by the medical community. She supports a national ban on the practice. You would be voting for someone who would make it illegal to get professional counsel if you have unwanted same-sex attractions. Illegal. What about pastors that counsel? Be illegal for pastors to counsel. I wrote a few years ago that the you must you must stay gay bill that's I nicknamed it in California if that had passed you a pastor could have could have been fined or even gone to jail for offering professional counsel to help them overcome same-sex attraction or you got a 15 year old girl struggling with gender identity confusion and and wanting to be at home in her body but struggling as oh let's get counsel to get you the home in your body.
Illegal. You would be voting to empower that. Don't say gay laws opposes anti-lgbtq plus book bans and they said that Florida's law restricting lgbtq plus instruction classrooms is trying to instill fear in our teachers that they should not live their full life and love who they love.
I mean all this hyped up rhetoric but you understand what that's saying. The so-called don't say gay bill was nothing of the kind. We simply saying we're not going to introduce these issues with sexuality including gay lesbian issues to little children.
That's all I was saying that the whole world should have shouted yes to that. LGBTQ plus youth protections spoke out against bullying and discrimination faced by lgbtq plus school children. The Biden Harris administration has also cut anti-lgbtq plus educational description discrimination a form of sex-based discrimination prohibited under title nine of the civil rights act of 1964 and anti-discrimination policies committed to passing the equality act which would add sexual orientation and gender identity to pre-existing federal civil rights laws meaning the same laws that would apply to racial issues all right that you could not discriminate against a black man or black woman because of the color of their skin. You could not discriminate against the hispanic person because of their ethnicity.
Now the exact same law would apply to if if a man identifies as a woman. Let's let's look at this all right you're a black man and you want to get a job in a certain job sector and they say oh we don't hire blacks. Well thank god that's that's considered discrimination and that evil practice is outlawed here in America.
You cannot do that. You're you're a hispanic woman and you want to get a job as a receptionist in the dentist's office and you go in there to apply no we don't hire hispanics it's illegal that ugly thing would be illegal all right okay you're a man who identifies as a woman you're clearly a man you dress as a woman but it's very clear you're a man you want the job now of teaching in the nursery school. I can't refuse to hire you under this version of the equality act even though it's going to confuse the children even though it's in violation of my own standards no because that would now be discrimination that's that's what the equality act would do. So if you vote for Kamala Harris that's what you're voting for for radical pro-abortion activism that could well become law and could overturn pro-life laws in your very state if they currently exist. If they currently exist in other parts of the country for sure you're voting for that and you are voting for radical LGBTQ activism that could literally take away the rights of Christians. No hype here no exaggeration I've been studying these issues for 20 years and seen where they're going and worn well in advance so if that happens if Kamala Harris is elected thanks to your vote you contribute it because all we get is one vote so every vote counts if she's elected with the help of your vote and these policies become law and babies are killed in the womb they could have been saved and active discrimination now comes against Christians for simply holding basic moral societal values or you go to jail because you counsel someone and how to overcome their same sex attraction if that happens you're part of it you are responsible for that so I just want you to consider those things before God that's why could not possibly vote Democrat because of these policies and the other things that are quite massive are really awesome of the other side of the break and we'll get back to Dave friend and his idea of why he's going to vote for Kamala Harris it's the line of fire with your host Dr. Michael Brown get on the line of fire by calling 866-344 here again is Dr. Michael Brown welcome back to the line of fire one more second Michael Brown explaining why I could not possibly vote for Kamala Harris as president as a follower of Jesus why I could not do that what you do is between you and God this is what I do is between me and God I did say that voting for Donald Trump I'd have many reservations and reluctance in many ways but if I voted for him it would be specifically to vote against the policies that Kamala Harris would bring in and with the hope that President Trump would do certain things that would be right and good but in no way are we putting my trust in him or looking to him as some type of political savior and I would very freely say here's where I differ with him and here's where I will not follow his conduct and rhetoric all right David Kupelian who writes for WorldNet Daily and wrote a couple of excellent books over the years sent me a column that he wrote October 26, 2020 and it was called an open letter to Christians who don't plan to vote for Trump so there was one paragraph in it that I thought really hit the nail on the head in terms of larger issues. John Piper had written an article suggesting that Christians just not vote for either Biden or Trump and gave the reasons why he could not vote for Trump laid them out so David Kupelian was responding to that and you know he talked about Trump's character issues and things and David Kupelian would say well how can you compare Trump being boastful with someone being pro-abortion and he says putting aside Piper's odd moral equivalence between rampant abortion and boastfulness does the good pastor not realize that when you vote for a president so I just want you to think this through all right when you vote for a president you are not choosing only one leader and his policy agenda but a multitude of leaders and policies in every area of life and therefore a whole future for the country as Franklin Graham put it most prominently you are choosing a vice president who may well become president as has happened 14 times in US history you are also choosing cabinet and department heads and you are choosing federal judges including supreme court justices with lifetime tenure who will decide issues of stupendous importance that affect every American and you are choosing thousands of other people about four thousand federal government appointees and all who profoundly shape the nation in which your children and grandchildren will live for a long long time whether for good or for ill so those those are definitely weighty issues to be considered when it comes to casting our vote again it's important I believe it's very important that as followers of Jesus that our our unity in Jesus is far louder and far greater than our political difference and that our witness for witness for Jesus is far stronger and prominent than our support for political candidate as I put it before if you're going to wear a MAGA hat that's that's what you you feel is a good slogan in Stanford you believe America's been better in the past okay let your witness for Jesus be louder than your MAGA hat you're going to have some Harris uh Harris Waltz bumper sticker and that's what you feel is right again some profound differences on that with you but if you do it you're shouting your allegiance to Jesus needs to be louder than your bumper sticker in other words people should know us primarily as followers of Jesus and not primarily as supporters of a particular candidate or party and for those just tuning in remember I have said that Donald Trump is not our political savior that the GOP is not God's party and that if I vote GOP and if I voted Trump it would be for xyz reasons and here are the reasons why I could not vote Democrat but let's let's get back to David French David French was a prominent attorney with the alliance defending freedom one of my colleagues Joe and Franco worked side by side with David French over the years and David French came out as a very strong anti-Trumper never Trumper and just appalled by his moral conduct and other issues in his life and couldn't believe that all these Christians were gathering around him now remember remember that when when Bill Clinton was running for president that there were Christian voices loudly saying we cannot support a man with a sexually immoral past like this and and then the Monica Lewinsky scandal happening while he's in the White House how in the world could any Christian stand with him so Christians have said hey Donald Trump was immoral Donald Trump was a foul character but he's not living like that now he's been married to the same woman oh he was married three times are you going to support a woman married three times so I get the moral objection in in in my book uh evangelicals at the crossroad will be passed the Trump test I have lots of quotes from evangelical leaders and and from southern baptists officially saying why they could not support someone like Clinton and and now here we are supporting Trump it absolutely seemed hypocritical I get it I get it I understand it and I understand that how our full-throated support for Donald Trump and just he's the man and and and exalting him in all these ways and he's going to change things that only Trump can save America that hurt our witness I get it I understand that I'm not downplaying that as all at all as a two-time Trump voter I'm not downplaying that at all I recognize that but David French became a very prominent never Trumper and now he is a New York Times columnist a journalist for the New York Times so he is with a a strongly left and sometimes radically left publication especially in in the op-eds they can often be radically leftist and that's the environment that he's working in now he and he would also be a DC insider I remember him commenting that he was shocked to hear that 81 percent of white evangelicals voted for Donald Trump was he didn't know any Christians that voted for Trump so again we live in our little bubbles sometimes happens to all of us and we've had civil dialogue had David French on the air when he was he was going to be running for president and then quickly dropped out just with this massive assault against him and his wife it just it gets really ugly politics is ugly and dirty that's a sad reality so we've we've had good interaction he's appreciated the work I've done to to expose the false Trump prophecies and things like that and our private interaction is civil and respectful and I told them I was going to write an article and then sent it to him as soon as it was posted you can find it on our website the line of fire.org or other sites that publish bar articles it should be up by now but this was his reasoning he said look he's a pro-life Christian he's voting for Kamala Harris and he said abortion stats you know there are less abortions this year of ex-year of Obama versus ex-year of Trump and things like that but his big thing was this that Trump has effectively destroyed the conservative movement in America that Trump has gutted the GOP platform of its pro-life pro-family stances and and the the key thing is to get rid of Trump Trump has to lose and now maybe the GOP can recover so in many ways yes Trump has remade the GOP in his own image and again it's a registered independent who votes GOP I believe he's done a lot of damage to the Republican party in many many ways so I agree with French in that regard but the idea the idea that the key now is to vote for Kamala Harris to defeat Donald Trump and and this is how you're going to now save the conservative movement in America with all respect to David French that is that to me is is political insanity it's it's absolutely wrong-headed you do not vote for a candidate that would be the most radical pro-abortion pro-gay activist president in American history with the possibility of appointing justices that will outlast my life and David French's life right and we'll go to the days of our kids and our grandkids and federal appointees across the nation and overthrow pro-life laws with the re-enshining of Roe v. Wade you don't do that and say well this is the way that we we save conservatism and resurrect as a more healthy GOP party I likened it to the story of Shabbatide Street he was born in Smyrna which is modern-day Izmir in Turkey in 1626 in 1626 he was a brilliant student Jewish Jewish man a brilliant student of rabbinic literature growing up and then seemed to be manic depressive and had these highs and lows that were very unusual and began to receive revelation that he was the messiah and then someone the prophet confirmed that he was the messiah next thing he has this mass of following and and he's such a different kind of character these rich and poor following him famous rabbis are following him and he decides this is it now time to go into the to the sultan and and to declare his supremacy and for the sultan to bow down and worship him as the messiah instead the sultan puts him in prison where he continues to entertain his guests who who hailed him as the messiah and the sultan finally decides enough with this you either convert to islam or you die so he converts to islam he converts to islam why well he justified it and his followers justified it by saying that there's rabbinic tradition that says the messiah will only come when the world is totally worthy and righteous or totally unworthy and unrighteous and since since it did not prove worthy of him he will now convert to islam to hasten the final apostasy and hundreds of his followers if not more also converted to islam to now hasten the final apostasy i kid you not oh it gets weirder still they formed the sect his his his followers formed the sect in islam called the danmeh so they practiced islam they were practicing muslims yet privately they continued to live as jews in different ways and they continued to say prayers acknowledging shabbatat v as the messiah you see how quickly did that sect die out it didn't it's continued into the 21st century the danmeh still exist now you'll hear all kinds of crazy things that there's this massive group of influencing this and no that that's all just myth conspiracy theory and myth but they still exist crazy huh so i i said that david french saying well i'll vote for kamala harris i'll vote democrat as a pro-life christian to basically hasten the demise of donald trump and then and then we could reform a conservative gop movement what if he just said let's all not vote for president let's let's all not vote and all the votes that we would have cast for trump we won't we won't cast and therefore he'll lose the election if that was the mentality i would still disagree but i get it i get it but to vote for kamala hax come on come on hey phone lines keep you open the next few days if you want to call in give me a piece of your mind to discuss this if you prefer that we'll do it don't forget to get our front line newsletter comes your way once a month digital edifying life changing it's free go to the line of fire.org
