Jim blurted, sir, your scent maracas smell amazing. You could call them scent maracas, but most noses call them gain-scent beads. Try gain-scent beads.

Way fresher than detergent alone. This is After Hours with Amy Lawrence. Surprise!

It is the hump show. Dead center of the work week. We're here. You're there. And I still haven't decided if I'm going to do an impromptu Ask Amy Anything. I just might. You can send some questions if you're interested. I see a few, so thank you for listening. Thank you for sending a few of your questions. I no doubt could make an entire segment out of a couple of questions and a few extensive stories.

Like for instance, this is just a small story, short story, and a sub story actually. So you can feel like pulling out the world's tiniest violin and playing it for me if you like. I generally do my grocery shopping one morning after work. Because my husband and I have been gone for most of the last two weeks, our fridge was empty. No joke. The only thing in it, a couple of drinks and condiments. That was pretty much all. Oh, and a couple of beets. I like beets, and so there's a couple of beets in the bottom drawer of my fridge. They weren't going to spoil. Otherwise, nothing in the fridge at all. We were empty. So I had to go to the store on Tuesday morning, and I knew it was going to be a long trip. I knew it was going to take me at least an hour to finish up all of our shopping. I had a big long list and then a bunch of other things that we needed. Everything from trash bags. He couldn't even take out the trash because we didn't have any new bags. Trash bags to cat food to people food. I'm trying to think what else. Oh, bug spray.

Just a really long list. And so I get my basket full, or I call it a buggy. People call it a basket. Some people call it a cart. Colton, what do you call the thing that you push at the grocery store? A cart. You call it a cart? People laugh at me when I call it a buggy.

Not like a punch buggy, but a shopping buggy. And so I had my cart for Colton full, and I get to the self-checkout area. Now, granted, this is an area where during the day, I likely couldn't take a full cart because it would take too long.

The self-checkout area, it's maybe four square feet, something along those lines, and that includes the register. But in the morning, there are no other options. At least that's been my experience. It's about 7 30 in the morning when I check out. Thankfully, my Super Walmart is open at six. I have no trouble getting there. And so I get to the self-checkout area.

I am not exaggerating. I've been using this Walmart for nine years. This has been my experience. And every single week for the last nine years, I have gotten my groceries at the self-checkout area.

And here's why. Because you've got a big cart full of stuff. You can't use plastic bags.

Now you're packing your own bags. And so this way, I can put the groceries the way that they need to go in. Eggs aren't broken. Wraps aren't smashed.

My fruit isn't flying all over the place. I have it organized the way that I need it to, but also I have time because I'm doing it myself. Well, I get up there. There are nine registers. Only one of them has a shopper checking out.

They will not let me use them because they've changed the policy. So now with the self-checkout line, you can only have 15 items or fewer. Nine registers, 7 30 in the morning, one person using them, but I'm not allowed to, even though there are more Walmart employees standing in that self-checkout area than there are people actually checking out. So they send me down to the other end, far end of the registers.

There's one open, one. Thankfully there wasn't a line. And I pile all my stuff up onto the belt and I wait for the person in front of me to finish bagging her groceries. Then the checker runs all my groceries.

They're in a huge pile at the, like past the register at the end of the line. And I have to bag them all. She finishes running all my groceries and I'm not exaggerating. 15 minutes, she just sits there while I'm bagging my groceries because she can't help. It's my bags, right? They're coming out of my cart.

She doesn't have any bags to be able to bag anything. I'm not paying until I finish bagging my groceries. And it's a big pile of stuff as opposed to me checking it, running it through myself, putting it into a bag as I'm doing it so I can pack my bags appropriately. Then I get frustrated. Then I get upset because I feel bad because I'm holding up the line. 15 minutes while I'm packing up all of my groceries and then have to pay and she just sits there.

And I, of course, I mean what else is she going to do? I do not understand the concept of having seven or eight open self-checkout lines and at that hour of the morning you cannot run through the self-checkout lines but instead you're going to pay an employee just to sit there. And you know six or seven people behind me now waiting for me to bag my groceries. Like I said I was getting flustered. I nearly started crying.

I'm an emotional girl. I felt bad holding up the line but it's a stupid policy. So from now on I may not be shopping at that hour or I may have to find a different store but yeah it was it's just dumb. Now see I can turn one story into a five-minute diatribe and it's really my soliloquy to start this hour of the hump show.

It's after hours with Amy Lawrence. I know, I know you're going to tell me I'm silly. That's okay but these are the things that I do with my time when I'm not here on the radio. I remember one time I was talking about buying my groceries and someone wrote me a message that said shouldn't your personal assistant be doing that? Yes that's that's what should be happening. My personal assistant should be grocery shopping. 855-212-4227. Also on our Facebook page or on Twix A-Law Radio you can rank your top five sports.

Been kind of interesting to see the variety and also if you have some questions for Ask Amy maybe just maybe we'll try it coming up in the next 30 minutes of the hump show. The American League wins the all-star game in come-from-behind fashion after Shohei Ohtani belts a three-run home run that goes 400 feet. Then the National League kind of fights scratch and claws to get back to even and then Jaron Duran ends up, I say National League sorry, American League fights scratches and claws to get back to even and Jaron Duran of the Red Sox, their center fielder, first-time all-star, bashes a two-run home run later in the game, earns the Ted Williams all-star MVP which is really cool and so congratulations to him.

He's 27 years old. He's having a breakout year in the majors now after a bunch of years of kicking around as a prospect. Meanwhile Paul Skeans in the first inning was all the rage. Well that and when he walked the red carpet with Livy Dunn, they showed her in the span of one inning, I think they showed her three times. I was ready for it. I was ready for it.

They're cute. Did you notice she was like miked up? Like did you know when they first caught their, she was clear as damn like what are we doing for one inning?

He's pitching one inning. Yeah no she definitely was. It's funny that you say that because I heard her yell let's go Paul and my first thought was how did we hear that? It was crystal clear. I'm like what are we doing?

We might throw up for one inning. Yeah and the conversation she was having with the person to her right, I don't know if it was a member of Paul's family. He did say his family was there which was cool but yes we heard her yell multiple times let's go Paul or yeah Paul and I thought we shouldn't be hearing that but yes Colton is right.

They actually had Livy Dunn miked up which is interesting. They also had Aaron Judge and Juan Soto miked up in the outfield. When Otani hit that home run, Soto barely moved.

I mean he kind of tracked it as it was flying into the outfield. Aaron just smiled and then they were you know able to ask their opinions of Otani. I thought it was neat to hear what Paul had to say about Otani since they were on that same roster for a few hours. Tried to enjoy you know the three hours or so that I had on the same team with him you know because that's probably only going to happen for once once a year so it was really cool to watch him do that really cool to watch him go about his business and get to meet him and all that you know he's I don't know of any hitter that I've faced that's that's better than him in my career and you know so to be able to share a dugout with him was surreal. So that's kind of neat 22 year old Paul Skeens not that Otani is that much older but coming from two opposite ends of the spectrum in terms of starting their baseball career.

I was watching Otani run around the bases with such joy thinking man it feels like forever ago. It was late March when they were in South Korea the Dodgers and Padres and we found out the first inkling of this scandal with Ipe Mitsuhara. I don't know if he's behind bars. I don't know if he's still in the United States of America. I don't know when his sentencing is.

I suppose I should figure that out but he did take a plea deal and whether or not you think he's a fall guy or you actually think that he has a major gambling issue and he was bilking 16 plus million dollars from Otani. It doesn't appear as though Shohei is letting it bother him. Now we only see him in public obviously but he's in the public eye almost every single day because of the length of the baseball season and the profile of the Dodgers not to mention his profile personally. He lives a lot of his life in the public eye and he seems happy. He seems content. He seems joyful when he's playing baseball. Now he's not real exuberant. Partly that's his culture but partly that's his personalities. We've come to know it and yet as he's circling the bases he's doing the handshakes with different friends, different teammates and he's enjoying the walk through the dugout and the handshakes and the fist bumps and everything else and he's got a big grin on his face and I thought wow I'm so happy for him but it was a story and then it wasn't.

Baseball decided very quickly that Otani in in their opinion was not involved and there was nothing to investigate and he just went back to playing baseball and it's like the whole thing never happened. Isn't that weird? It's so typical of the news cycle and social media as well in 2024.

So different when I first got into the business where a story can go viral and a story can be not just the top well not just a topic but the only topic for days maybe even weeks and then something else comes along and boom it just falls into a black hole and we never talk about it again. She's going with gambling. He's definitely got a poker face.

He's very lucky with this whole thing. So you do think that he was gambling? Amy I'm not going to go into it.

Just like he thinks the singer was drunk. It's very old Amy so it's not in the news but no way I'm sorry I don't care if it's outside of my fiance or like my partner no one's having access to my accounts and you're going to give that to your interpreter. No way you don't know that money's missing. No way the bank's not calling.

I got a phone call I'm uh whoa on a certain amount. You're telling me hey show hey you're missing a few million. No way there's definitely some knowledge of what was going on. Yeah your skepticism I think is probably fairly standard still among people but my point is that no one talks about it anymore. I mean we're not going to talk about it since there's nothing new. I can't keep regurgitating the story since as you point out it's not news anymore there's nothing new but the fact that it happened and it was the story not just in sports but transcending America. It was global and now it's nothing to the point where I don't even know what's going on with Ipe Mitsuhara. It's nothing.

It's over. It's probably eventually gonna pop back up because you know there's some small reporter because if they end up breaking this could be life-changing for them. Like I'm telling you there's probably someone working deep and like over the night probably listening to the show like all right looking like looking up. But I think if there was a smoking gun we would we would know it by now. There's got to be one. Someone's gonna find it Amy.

You'll see. I believe someone's gonna write a tell-all book a few years down the road. Maybe Ipe Mitsuhara himself unless of course he has signed some type of uh uh what are those called uh do not wait what's that shoot what's it called when you sign a non-disclosure NDA non-disclosure agreement. Unless he signed that as part of all of this.

He definitely did. So maybe he doesn't write the book. Maybe the gambler writes the book.

Oh I'm telling you this thing. But would you trust a degenerate gambler bookie to tell you the truth? What does he have to lose? Well he has to gain a lot of book sales. I think he would. But if he's not but that's what I'm saying that's his incentive for making stuff up. Yeah maybe.

Maybe. All I know is for baseball wise I'm happy it kind of got pushed under the rug because this guy is generational but yeah. It was there and it was a fire. It was a forest fire and then it was put out and it's like it never happened.

There is no scorched earth. It never really happened. So that was actually on my mind as I was watching Otani circle the bases. I I thought wow he's playing with such joy. I'm so happy for him and then I thought huh did it really happen?

If no one can recall it now did it really happen? It's After Hours with Amy Lawrence. Guys in Pittsburgh welcome to After Hours. Hello. Amy. Yes. Amy. Yes.

Yes. Thank you for taking my call. I've been waiting since 11 30 this evening but you know what it was well worth the wait.

I want to ask you a quick question. Wait 11 30? I didn't get on the air till two o'clock Pittsburgh time. Pittsburgh time?

No uh well because when I got home from work my wife said 11 30 and so when I called in and your producer keep putting me on putting me on putting me on but I was never able to get on. Well again I think part of the reason part of the reason where are you located in Pittsburgh? Um Homewood. In Pennsylvania? Yes ma'am. Okay so right now I'm telling you the reason you had to wait that long is because I didn't start the show until 2 a.m eastern. Oh it's a different time zone where you're at? Nope it's I'm in the eastern time zone but it doesn't really matter. I'm telling you I went on the air at 2 a.m eastern so I wasn't on the air at 11 30. No I know you was on it here because there was somebody on before you right and you come on exactly every night at 2 2 a.m correct?

Right right so you said you've been waiting since 11 30. I know well oh maybe I am drunk but anyway let me ask you this one question I want to get your opinion real quick I don't want to take up your time. All right um no no let me let me get your honest opinion do you think right now that Paul Skeet the Pirates should pay Paul Skeet's would because he's going to be worth a lot of money we already know that so the way and he he paired himself very well in the all star game a rookie right there even though he pitched one innings but he did fairly well. Yeah like his 100 mile per hour pitch that he threw to Aaron Judge. Exactly now do you think though if you was um um the uh shot caller the players organization if you're the owner would you just go ahead and pay Paul Skeet's now because you're looking at this might be a phenom this might be just like Andrew McCutcheon was the first time when he joined the Pirates and that whole ball club turned around. Yeah. But would you go ahead and pay um Paul Skeet's the money that he you know they got to make sense of it but would you pay him the money now to keep him if you was the Pirates uh uh the president of the Pirates calling the shots. Okay if you ask me this question about any other team I would say no but if you're the Pirates and your history is that other teams end up benefiting from your young guys from your farm system and I know he wasn't in the farm system very long but the history of the Pirates is that they do have bright young talent they draft early they they get some incredible athletes and then as soon as they're able they go somewhere else or they trade them away because they don't want to pay them and so if you're the Pirates I would say yeah you lock them up as quickly as you can now here's the thing Skeet's and his team may recognize that the more he pitches the longer he pitches and the better he pitches the more the price tag goes up they may not be willing to sign anything right now after only what is it 11 starts and I know he has a 6-0 record and an ERA that's south of two again he may not be willing to take what the Pirates offer him at this point recognizing that the deeper he pitches into the season the better it becomes for him and the more that he can add to the price tag so I understand it from the Pirates point of view but I don't think it makes sense from Paul Skeen's point of view and if you'd ask me this question about any other team even though you've now hung up on me and you're not listening and as you said you may very well be drunk it doesn't yeah it doesn't make sense for most other teams but for the Pirates I would say if what you're trying to signal to your fan base is that you want to keep this guy in the fold you want to change you know change your your direction of your franchise and your your way of dealing with players the thing is though if he has enough if like he has another half of the season that's terrific maybe he goes another year and a half you could imagine that there's going to be some team out there that offers max shares or money just because he's that he's that much of a star already and a long-term deal when he's only 22 or 23 years old isn't as risky yeah there's a lot there I just I don't know that again Paul Skeen's in his camp it makes sense for him and didn't Livvy Dunn say something on the red carpet about how she wants them to go to Atlanta I don't know if you heard that I saw I didn't hear it live but I saw it because I do not watch red carpets but I saw the quote on social that she actually said in a microphone that she wants them to go to Atlanta see I saw that and they listened to it and I think it was like a a meme account it wasn't actually her saying anything like that because she really didn't talk much when they were interviewing the both of them they kind of like bits and pieces she talked but how could it be a meme account AI yeah like it wasn't it no it wasn't like her actually saying it was like someone's hyped out like a fake quote and then you actually listen to it she's not saying anything oh it's not the same thing I'm like that's pretty ballsy to say on the red carpet one like right your boyfriend's playing for the pirates oh yeah after one year just to move somewhere else yeah all right I stand corrected it's a smart way of doing it though I mean paying him early I got with that call the same because it would benefit the pirates have done it and it's worked out really well for the birds with their young town it benefits the pirates but there's no way after a half like he had in a star in the all-star game as a rookie that his camp is going to be like yeah let's sign a deal now because the price tag only goes up if he goes through this first year let's say he wins a Cy Young I mean you need to or even top five Cy Young you need to see how this plays out before you can determine his worth and the major league baseball players union might not want him to sign a deal this early either so there's yeah there's different factors to consider all right Jay and Cliff will get to you after the break also little football talk before the hour is done just because we've got a couple of camps that are underway the Chiefs I mean if you're betting now I still say they're they're the team to beat in the NFL it's after hours with Amy Lawrence we all belong projects and say hello to caring for your home the easier way download thumbtack and start a project today the voice of one adam silver following the nba board of governors get together on tuesday and he talked a little bit more about the media deals which aren't set in stone yet you can imagine there might be some logistical challenges to them also streaming the migration to streaming and so i think this is something that will continue to be an issue silver and the other commissioners have no choice but to move to streaming for a few reasons number one there's a ton of money there and if you want to keep up with the rest of the leagues you're going to have to migrate to the same place where other leagues are going but also because more and more we know that sports fans are cutting the cord now we found out that there is a ceiling when it comes to what american families can afford and are willing to spend on streaming services i know that this is a constant conversation we've had it multiple times over the course of the last couple years as the nfl as well as other leagues have moved to streaming more and more it can be a frustrating venture when you need say five different streaming services to be able to follow your favorite team or your favorite sport but when it comes to the nba they've got a real issue and that's what adam silver was talking about as well on tuesday because their ratings on mainstream tv cable tv have tanked so badly that he admits people are not watching the nba on tv uh colton if you want to fire up number 22 i mean his plea his reason for them looking at alternative options is because people don't watch the nba anymore when it comes to tv in terms of traditional television while it is still vital and by traditional i i don't mean just broadcast but call it cable and satellite there is a large portion of our fan base that never that no longer subscribes to those services so while we want to continue serving them at the same time streaming has become predominant yeah i mean that's kind of the issue the nba has no choice but to try to find other media deals not only will it bring an influx of cash if you're looking at say amazon or i'm peacock trying to think of some of the others that are out there that are on streaming any of these kind of new services that are popping up that provide you multiple options i know that there's supposed to be a three company venture for a new streaming service although right now i'd heard that there was a legal challenge potentially an antitrust challenge to that one but eventually they'll get it all sorted out and they can't leave the money on the table because it's billions the nfl is really the first to take full-blown advantage of that but also silver makes a point nba ratings are horrific even during the playoffs they're awful people engage over social media when it comes to the nba but they a lot of the younger fans specifically are not watching anything more than say youtube highlights that might be a good partner put games on youtube if if that's something that uh they can work out similar again to what the nfl has done with its sunday ticket on youtube it's after hours with amy lawrence let's talk to jay who's in the great nation of canada our friends to the north what's up jay i just want to thank you for being a voice of comfort to somebody who's legally blind and in a wheelchair i've lost me for uh as long as you've been working on the radio 25 years i'm sorry 25 years yeah yeah wow and the thing is that uh i appreciate that it's a two-way conversation with you a lot a lot of the uh services now are doing texting and uh i can't communicate that we do because of my disability but your voice is a voice of comfort now i want to ask you do you remember when rosanne sang the anthem of course uh was that during a football game that's a good question i don't actually remember i remember uh rosanne carl lewis fergie that was nba right there have been some really bad anthems those are a few that come to mind like i i think that the young lady i mean she uh had some liquid courage but uh liquid courage but uh hopefully she will be able to advance past this uh bad evening that she had well i hope so too if she truly does have a problem and really intends to go and get help for it she might have some stage fright i don't care liquid courage does it it's it's obviously a misnomer it's not real courage if you're out there and you're not in full possession of your senses it's just stupidity and i'm i'm sad for her because nobody stopped her before she went out there if she really was drunk there's no way that nobody knew it yeah and thank you for telling us all your wonderful stories about me you're welcome sir i'm glad to keep you company thank you so much for listening yeah bye-bye cliff is in atlanta cliff welcome to after hours amy thanks a lot i got a couple of comments i'll try to be efficient my favorite sports i like major league baseball i like the nfl i like college football i love the ncaa men's basketball tournament and one of the things i really like is the little league world series and i wish and i sent this in that the last the final two rounds would be wooden bat rounds because they're working with major league players um i know that's something that's not economically feasible but i think it would be interesting and i think the manufacturing of bats now is so much better that splintering is not as much of an issue that it used to be well if you're going to do that though it needs to be across the board i don't think you can ask players especially at that age to adjust from round to round where they've been using aluminum bats and then all of a sudden they changed to wooden i can imagine that would be tough for them especially when you're talking about on that stage absolutely and that's the logic behind it excuse me for interrupting you it's okay now as far as otani is concerned i don't believe that for a second i don't believe major league baseball has the resources to open and close an investigation of that magnitude so quickly oh i don't know if there was one yeah i think it was relatively tame you know and when you look in the pantheon of sports big league sports during downtime that's what players do they play cards i don't care if they're traveling i don't care if they're in the locker room they're always competing at some point and i just and these players they're different and i just find it hard to believe and with gambling partnering with major league sports college sports now i just find it hard to believe that they could open and close an investigation of that importance so quickly i just i just don't believe it so that's just my opinion i would i would think that there's probably a lack of any real connection or if you will a smoking gun between what was happening with ipay mutsuhara and the bookie and shohay otani other than their friendship but there's if there was a smoking gun meaning if somehow the the bookie himself had direct communication with shohay otani maybe they find it in his phone records or they find it in some of his i don't know if they keep paperwork but on his computer if there was a smoking gun that definitively tied otani to the operation they would have found it but the issue is whether or not it's suspicious whether or not it's you know requires that we suspend logic and belief to accept it there is not any real evidence there's only speculation there's only proximity if you will and what we've heard from otani's camp is is consistent i i i can i can accept that because i don't have any evidence right and that's the point you know yeah my side i agree with you i got two more points i'll be quick please paul skeens an amazing pitcher um you know he understands the psychology of pitching he knows his way around the plate and um you know i i wish him well i wouldn't pay him so fast because um he's probably going to be injured and um i don't say that don't speak that i don't work that i'm not trying to throw it in the universe and put it on him he's just a hardball thrower and and and history shows us that that's not sustainable but he does know his way around the plate he can paint the black unlike most uh young pitchers coming into the bigs today he really does yeah i mean we've got a small sample size but it's pretty impressive to see how he handles his business exactly and finally um unbeknownst to most of america there's a young racer african-american racer his name is his name is miles roe he works for roger penske and he's the he's the first african-american to win an indie car sanctioned race he's uh running right now indy lights uh he's from powder springs georgia he's an amazing racer this is his first year at that level and maybe we'll see him next year or the year after but i really appreciate your show i appreciate the content and thanks for giving me an opportunity you're welcome sir thank you for calling cliff in atlanta have a great day on this wednesday july 17th we're asking you favorite sports want you to rank them from one to five i am impressed by the variety which is good considering we have an olympics on the horizon which will give you wondrous variety uh straight ahead i've got a few questions for asking me anything so i believe i'll try to answer a few of them we'll see if we can get the old music out that you love and that uh it triggers something like it does with bab love's dog so maybe we'll try that and also we've got patrick mahomes he's uh in camp early which means he's going to need some entertainment while he's teaching the chief's rookies what it means to play like a champion yeah the chief's still the team to beat uh even as we are barely dipping our toe in the water when it comes to the 2024 season this is after hours with amy lawrence time to ask amy anything sort of i feel like we can do this i think we can i've got a few questions and you know generally with my spaghetti plate brain you ask me about one topic or you ask me one question and somehow it morphs into a completely different tangent in fact this is kind of funny i know you'll appreciate this maybe at some point i'll take a picture of it i initially got this t-shirt for my mom since she's retiring from full-time teaching it's a shirt that says sometimes i go off on a and then there's a diagram the mathematical diagram of a tangent but it didn't fit her i got her size but the t-shirt was too small so i actually wore it to work last night it actually fits me better well fits my personality it fits my body better but it also fits my personality and my talking style a lot more than it fits my mom uh she would find it funny but i'm actually the one who goes off on tangents on a fairly frequent basis it's after hours with amy lawrence yes ask amy anything and some of you did at the last second with very short notice send a few of your questions so i'm going to start on facebook because you all are the ones who are wondering what happens with ask amy anything thank you so much for caring about it and for listening to the hump show uh chip wants to know do i still shoot hoops in my free time well i don't have a lot of free time but no i don't actually now when i do have free time uh instead i go running i have another half marathon that's coming up my husband and i like to travel we enjoy playing frisbee together we enjoy playing catch now and then also golf is probably my favorite sport to play at this point in my life he likes to bike i like to run and then i've taken him to the driving range a couple of times he did give me the gift of a golf round for my birthday so i need to use it so yeah golf would probably be the the the sport that would take up my free time that and the running as i still make half marathons a major goal of mine a couple times a year all right uh let's see amy wants to know is my husband a grad of ut austin actually my husband is not a grad of ut austin but he's a huge texas longhorn supporter and so for that reason uh i was telling him earlier on tuesday about how horns down is no longer outlawed uh by i mean now would be the sec's problem but it's not outlawed anymore because there's no harm in it according to the powers that be if you flash the horns down out on the street somewhere it's not offensive it doesn't incite gang violence and so yeah horns down is no longer a taboo he does have multiple members of his family not my family who are ut grads and there are also a few of them that are a and m grad so it's kind of fun because there's both aggies and longhorns in the family i just know that under penalty of death or something like that i have to learn how to be a longhorn which is hard for me because i actually covered oklahoma and oklahoma state for four years when i lived in the area so they don't want to hear about that it's after hours with amy lawrence okay let's see looking for more of your questions oh if i had to be in the circus this comes from alan on facebook what job would i want to have well i'm not graceful enough enough to be a trapeze artist but i do think it's pretty incredible that adrenaline rush you would get from flying through the air i really love big cats but i also think that if you are a lion tamer you are asking for trouble not like as in death not to mention i i don't love the way that the animals seem to be treated it's not across the board that the animals are treated poorly but of course there have been exposes done about how animals are treated in some of these traveling shows so i don't think that i that would be the right thing for me how about someone who sells fried dough that except that i'd be really fat then maybe i can be a carnie who runs the swings i had to be in the circus what job would i want to have well yeah if i sold fried dough i'd be eating too much fried dough so that's probably not a good idea maybe i could be one of the people that runs the games where you have to shoot a moving target or you have to throw a ball into a big vase that has a very narrow neck so that you can win a large stuffed animal something like that truth be told though i would never i would never be in a circus my life is a circus as it is martin wants to know in high school were you a jock a stoner a nerd a cheerleader i was actually three of the four in now very early in actually i wasn't a cheerleader in high school so i guess that takes off the i was a cheerleader in seventh grade which is kind of funny one year and i never did it again uh i let's see jock yes nerd yes uh not a stoner not at my school and also just that's not me i've actually never been drunk or high crazy revelation about amy lawrence but the truth so yes jock and nerd that would apply to me mike says don't know if i missed it but amy's favorite sport well my favorite sport to play was always basketball my favorite sport to watch and cover is definitely football now because it's a religion let's see uh moving over to twitter because i know i saw a few of them over here emily wants to know what do you think of all-star games which sport does them best well truth be told i don't watch any of them except for baseball when the nfl first went to their whole flag football format i did actually watch the first one just because i wanted to see what it was like and if it was any more entertaining or scintillating than than the pro bowl i'd rather take the the weekend off or the the night off from watching tv especially at the end of a long football season so i do really appreciate the major league baseball all-star game because we get the matchups that we want even if they're just one pitch like ball skeins versus erin judge um so that that one actually resembles a real baseball game the rest of them do not i cannot watch two nba teams just go out there and score 250 points apiece it's not appealing in any way shape or form so i would say baseball does it best but i'm still fairly tepid on all-star games i think it's really neat that they have the honor of becoming all-stars and spending this couple days with their peers and learning from their peers and hanging out with guys that they normally wouldn't be able to plus taking their families i love that element but i think unless you're there it's it's not really a whole lot of fun to watch yeah that's just me though let's see mac wants to know if you can have anything free for the rest of your life what would it be oh what a question let's see if i could have anything free for the rest of my life what would it be does first class count if i could fly first class free for the rest of my life because i i actually uh have said this before on the air if i was independently wealthy i would spend my money on first class because i do not enjoy flying mostly because i can't get comfortable so i can't sleep uh but in first class not only do you get world-class food i had no idea how good the food was in first class until july 4th weekend a friend upgraded bob and i on our flights to and from houston we got to sit in first class we felt like squatters what are we doing up here but it was amazing the food was amazing it was comfortable i was even able to take a snooze so yeah i guess that's the question if i could have anything free it would be first class flights for the rest of my life that's wishful thinking it's after hours with amy lawrence look around what do you see cars lots of
