The Spiritual Condition of America, Politics, Culture, and Current Events Analyzed Through the Lens of Scripture. Welcome to the Alex McFarland Show. The Bible tells us, in all things, give thanks, but how do you do that when times are tough? Hi, Alex McFarland here. Hey, I want to preemptively say: if you hear a lot of background noise, we're not in the studio with Pristine Silence.
We are on the floor at National Religious Broadcasters. We do this every year.
Some of you, longtime listeners, you may recall over the years, we come down to Dallas or Nashville, NRB, National Religious Broadcasters, and we meet people from all around the world that God is using in many ways. And we pray, we strategize, we talk about cutting-edge things that we want you to be aware of. And today is certainly one of those days because there's a film coming out. And during the course of this show, I'm going to say this probably 15 times. There is a film.
That you need to know about, and it's the life story of Nick Voyacic. And he's here with me now. He's going to tell you his own story, but he's one of the most dynamic men of God that I've ever had the privilege to spend some time with. But first of all, Nick, thanks for being here. And for those that may not know, NRB, how would you describe this convention we're at?
I think, NRB, by the way, thank you for having me on the radio show. Love you very much. Love you, my brother. Yeah, this ain't the first time. Love you too.
It's an interesting. annual event that is so unique, I've never been to anything like it.
So many people, different perspectives, different parts of the world, different ministries, different parts of the body of Christ. Amen. Coming together and praying the same things and wanting to see lost souls come to Jesus and seeing how we can pray for one another and see more hearts healed in Jesus' name. You know, I love this event because. I grew up in the south.
grew up Presbyterian, but I came to the Lord through a Baptist Bible study when I was in college. And then got in ministry for a lot of my young adult life. It was Baptist, Baptist, Baptist. And then we begin to travel, and I realize there's a lot of parts of the body of Christ. And I kind of say it this way: there are people that jump over the pews, there's people that sleep in the pews.
But, you know, according to the New Testament, if we believe that Jesus, the Son of God, died for our sins, we put our faith in Jesus, we become God's child, but we're family. And I guess what I was going to say, Nick, was I love this convention because you got every flavor of Christianity from the globe. And there's this unity and this family bond. It's pretty refreshing, isn't it? It is.
It really, really is. And I'm glad that I was able to speak here many years ago. Just glad to come together under one roof and learn about how the Holy Spirit's moving around the world.
Well, I want to hear the Nick Voyacic story. Where did you grow up? How did you find the Lord? And what is your message for the world today? I was born in Melbourne, Australia, in 1982.
And I was born without limbs. There's no medical reason as to why I was born this way. My brother and sister were born with their limbs. And as I went to school, I was always wondering why me? Why was I born with this disability and lack of limbs?
And really felt that if If God was real, he seemed unfair to me. I prayed for a miracle, and a miracle didn't come. And so, as a depressed eight-year-old, I started planning my suicide attempt. And I actually attempted my suicide at age ten, trying to drown myself in my bathtub. And I had a loving home.
They always told me that I'm beautiful, that God has a plan, that I'm special. But it still didn't heal my heart and set me on a track of Knowing that everything's going to be okay.
Now, when you say, listeners, I want you to get this. When he says that he was born without limbs, no arms, no legs. Nick, do you remember at what age did I mean, I'm sure you were a little toddler, but at what age did you begin to realize? Hey, I'm different. Yeah.
Yeah. So I knew I had no limbs at age four or five, but it really wasn't an issue until I actually went to school around five or six years of age, and having the bullying and the taunting and the people laughing at me and all that. And so that's when the questions of why me, where is God, started that early on. And so, by the mercy of God, I'm still here. I did not go through with that suicide because I didn't want to leave.
that hole. um you know of depression and grief in my parents' lives after You know, I would end my life, and so by the mercy of God, I decided to stay. And then, age 13 was the first lesson of trying to be thankful for what I had instead of being angry for what I don't have. And so, I actually have a little at the bottom left of my torso, I have a little appendage, a foot, two toes, and six inches long, and it allows me to walk. And so, when I hurt my foot, Playing soccer, I was in bed for three weeks and I realized, wow, I can either be angry for what I don't have or thank God for my little foot.
And at age 15, I gave my life to Jesus Christ reading John chapter 9, a man was born blind, and the same question was asked to Jesus. Um, why was he born with his disability? And Jesus said it was done so that the works of God would be revealed through him. And he healed the blind man. What I realized is for the longest time I wanted God's plan.
But if he gave me the plan, I don't need faith. I just followed the plan. But I need to have faith to believe he has one. And that's the whole epiphany of our relationship with Jesus Christ. It's not by sight, it's by faith.
And so I prayed for arms and legs, but realized today, when you don't get a miracle, you can still be one for someone else. That is huge. That is huge. And if you would reiterate, you said, be thankful for what you do have, not be angry about what you don't have. Yeah.
And and I need to hear that, Nick. We all do every day. Yeah, we all do. Preach to us. Yeah, so you know, I my biggest burden was, you know, whether I would ever get married.
And even if I got married, I can't even hold my wife's hand. I can't even hold my kids when they're crying. And I concluded my future. to be Just very unhappy and all alone. Little did I know that I would.
not just find an incredible daughter of God who'd be my wife. I don't need to hold her. Hand, I need to hold her heart, and we now have Four beautiful children, and we live in the north of Dallas area. And who ever knew that God can use a man without arms and legs to be his hands and feet and go preach the gospel to 87 countries, to 11 million people face to face, and see over a million and a half give their life to Jesus? That's a miracle.
To God be the glory. Amen. There's no limits. There's no limit. And, you know, I believe God has a plan for every life.
I rejoice in all that the Lord is doing through your life, Nick. But we say this, and especially young people kind of light up when they hear this. God has a plan for every life. And that plan begins when we open our heart to Christ and we put our trust in Jesus. But there are no insignificant human beings.
There's no people that don't matter. And you're living proof of the power of God. in in a yielded life. Praise God. Jeremiah 29:11 says, For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope in a future.
Amen. He's faithful. We're going to come back. Alex McFarland here, along with Nick Voyacic. His life story, a major global theatrical release, is coming in 2026.

He's been called trusted, truthful, and timely. Welcome back to the Alex McFarlane Show. Welcome back to the program. Just before the break, Nick was quoting one of my favorite passages, Jeremiah 29:11 through 13.
For I know the thoughts I have towards you, thoughts of good, not of evil. And it says to bring you to an expected end. It doesn't mean like the end of the road. It's actually in the Greek, it's the word teleos, a design or a purpose, a plan, a roadmap. Nick, first of all, welcome back.
Thanks for your time. You're very welcome. Thanks for having me here.
Well, it's great to have you on. I love to talk about these things because life is ordained by God. And there is a roadmap, and there is a plan, and that plan, I don't think we ever find it without Christ. Amen. And that scripture you shared, which I love to share with audiences, especially young people, is that as we kind of grope in the dark, Why am I here?
What in the world, what does my life mean anyway? The light comes on, the journey truly begins when Jesus comes in. Agreed? Yeah. Well, there's no other name but Jesus um because he Is the Son of the Living God name died and rose again?
And it's actually because of The joy of Him imagining us in heaven was why he actually endured the cross and scorning its shame. And um You know, he loved me before I even knew him. But he also knew my name before the earth began. And I'm wonderfully and fearfully made. It's just difficult, though, to sometimes believe in a loving God when we go through ups and downs and difficult circumstances.
And Alex, I'm not a person to ever go up to anyone. and compare their suffering to someone else's. I've I've met presidents, I've met sex slaves, I've met billionaires and I've met the poor and the dying. And it's been an incredible journey through Nick V ministries. And you know, we what we must understand is I love that also verse in Romans 8:28.
All things come together for the good for those who love him, who have been called according to his purposes. And so, to even believe that, yes, it's important to first and foremost. Get your soul saved, your heart healed, and your and then your mind renewed, but then to engage in what. Plan he has for you and purpose, and in that is not your value or your identity in Christ. We love him, and he loves us because we're adopted into his family.
He doesn't love us more when we do more for him or in his name. He's my friend, but he's my king and my everything. But the beauty of being able to be a listening ear to someone who has a broken heart. To maybe even share your story, who were you before you met Christ? How did you meet Christ?
What does that mean for you today, being a Christian? I think a lot of people. They have this idea of God and religion and Jesus as kind of like a life insurance, and I'm a church attender. But really, we're all part of the great commission, and our history is his story. Amen.
And I'm privileged to be able to have a movie about my story to let people know that if God can use a man without arms and legs to be his hands and feet, then God can use any willing heart. Yes.
Well, and let me say this: as you and I record this show, one of my dearest friends in life, his wife has terminal cancer. And uh it's very hard. And they're processing it well. I mean, as well as you can, leaning on the Lord. But I've really been praying about this, and I think about this.
God gives us assignments. And like you said, Jesus is our king. He really is. The Apostle Paul said that we are not our own. I mean, really, we're bought with a price, and as a believer, we're on mission for Jesus.
Feel free to disagree. The fact that God gave you a pretty daunting assignment to navigate life without arms and legs. I think it's proof of how much God loves you. And my friend whose wife is dying of cancer. When we have the challenges of life, We have an opportunity like Job, though he slay me, yet will I trust him.
That I will love my lord, my neighbor, and good days, hard days, every day. I'm Christ's representative. It's really an opportunity, isn't it? It is an opportunity. We know that.
Whatever the enemy causes for bad, God can turn into good, anything. And if He wants to change my circumstance, He can. Uh if he wants to heal your friend, of cancer, he can. My dad died of cancer. We prayed for Uh, you know, with faith for healing, I have pairs of shoes in my closet in case God, you know, does give me arms and legs, and I've seen physical, supernatural miracles right in front of me, exactly.
And so, we know though that if He doesn't change a circumstance, that He could. change our heart towards it and realize that You know, it is important to get counseling when you are broken. It's important not to isolate yourself. It's important to pray and have other people pray for you when you cannot pray for your. Your own sake.
Does Nick Voyacic still go through ups and downs? Yes.
Does Nick Voyage still go through depression sometimes? Yes.
When was the last time I went through counseling? 2021? And I nearly went through it again last year. It's just. Life is not here to feel like we're in heaven.
Yeah. We're here to love God with all of our heart. And lean not upon our own understanding, acknowledge him in all of our ways, and he's going to direct our paths. And I don't know if today's my last day. We don't know when I go home.
But yeah, for me to live as Christ and to die is gain. And I believe that with all my heart. That's why I'm not afraid to die. And I can pray, and in Jesus' name, heal your friend right now. And in Jesus' name, give me arms and legs right now, Lord.
And everyone else who's looking for a physical miracle, in Jesus' name, may you be healed. But the greatest miracle of all is knowing Him and being complete and lacking nothing. I am complete and I lack nothing. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Heaven's waiting for me.
And until He takes me home, He'll use me as I can just to shine His light and love and plant seeds of faith to let them know that God has a plan for them too. In the time we've got left, I want to hear about the film. How did it come to be? Did somebody approach you and say, gee, we've got to put your life story on the big screen? Let's hear that.
Yeah, for over a dozen years there've been many companies who've approached me wanting to produce my life story documentary and a feature film. And we have a lot of home footage of me as a kid as well. And so we interviewed my mother, who's still alive with us, and my siblings, and people. people in my life that God used as milestone mentors or family and friend. Um, you know, encouraging people around me.
And so, yeah, we we exposed the rawness of how difficult it really was for my parents to be uh facing a challenge with having a disabled son without any warning either. And so we want everyone to know that that it is difficult with what we've sometimes been given, but but God is faithful and He's kind, and it's one story of the billions out there of of how God can turn broken pieces into something beautiful. But that is how it came about. And it's coming out in September this year in cinemas. September of 26.
And the website again is.
So if you want to watch the trailer, go to nickvteam.com. And right now, just like some of the efforts of the body of Christ coming together around a film, we're right now working with Good Works Hub. And people are showing interest right now to get behind us and showing interest in helping us market and get the word out. And that one, go to nickvfilm.com and join us there and register your interest in getting behind this film. We're going to talk more about this.
We've got a brief break. Stay tuned. More with Nick Voyacic after this. Mm-hmm. Fox News and CNN call Alex McFarland, a religion and culture expert.
Stay tuned for more of his teaching and commentary after this. Mike Segovia here, producer of the Alex McFarlane Show. Here's Alex talking about prayer. You know, folks, our nation needs a spiritual awakening so desperately. We need the Holy Spirit of God to sweep across this nation, and prayer is the key.
Please, if you would, go to alexmacfarlane.com/slash united in prayer. We'll send you a weekly devotional. We'll help your family, your church start praying with power. AlexMcFarland.com/slash united in prayer. Um He's been called trusted, truthful, and timely.
Welcome back to the Alex McFarlane Show. Welcome back to the program. What an inspiration to be with Nick Voyachich. We'll resume our conversation with him in just a moment. But I want to remind everybody: we've got an incredible year ahead.
I'll be at the Cove, the Billy Graham Training Center, twice in the month of July, once teaching Bible prophecy, our new book on Daniel and Revelation, and then with Gary Habermas, really the world expert on the resurrection of Christ. The website is thecove.org, T-H-E-C-O-V-E, theCOVE.org. We'd love to see you there. It fills up fast, and we encourage you to join with people from around the world as we do a deep dive into the scriptures and we experience the incredible western North Carolina mountains, but the presence of God at the Billy Graham Center. I would encourage you to come to that.
And then I'm in a pulpit. But somewhere virtually every weekend, we're on the radio, television. Our books are circulating. We have seven summer youth camps, plus a big youth rally and biblical worldview. Please pray, promote, plan to attend.
And as always, if you feel so led, you can support us prayerfully and financially. Every summer, every year, we see many, many, many thousands of people come to Christ, mainly teenagers and college kids.
So we need your help. We're grateful for it. And you can give securely online with a tax-deductible contribution at alexmacfarland.com. And one of the things we do, we have the privilege of interviewing incredible world leaders, one of whom is across the table from me right now, Nick Voyacic. Again, brother, thank you for your time here at the NRB Convention.
Thanks for having me. It's great to have you. You know, your film is coming out, and that's exciting. Has filming wrapped and the release is fall of 26? Correct, yes, September 25th.
It's gonna be released in cinemas. And uh we're so thankful um that people of all ages are going to be coming to be encouraged, uh especially though teenagers, I believe. You know, I think there's a crisis of mental health right now and the bigger question of why am I here. How could anything good come out of my life? Am I ever going to be happy?
Yeah. And you know, many parents with disabilities, children with disabilities, but just everyone has a broken heart. And I think everyone's going to relate to no limbs, no limits. which is uh the Nick V life story. And uh we're we're excited to get Feedback of people giving their life to Jesus at the very end.
I look right into the camera and lead people into prayer, repentance, and help people understand that, you know, we don't have to walk this walk alone, that God is with us. And my mum's in it, a lot of home footage of me, you know, and me obviously being interviewed. Like, how was it? As a kid, and how did the ministry come to what it is?
Now that Nick V Ministries has preached the gospel to 11 million people and seen over 1.5 million give their life to Jesus, it's a miracle. Praise God. And normally, Alex, people are dead by the time a documentary comes out about them. And so I feel privileged and honored that for such a time as this for our country. That this is an inspiration to the young and old in all walks of life.
How can churches and Christians get behind and really help support the film? Thank you. Yes, if you would like to see the trailer, go to nickvteam.com for announcements. And also, right now, though, we're asking if there are people who are interested to come alongside and engage as a church or small group or schools and just gauging interest. In seeing as many people as possible watch this film.
And so for that, we're working with kind of like the chosen crowds to get behind it and spread the word. We're doing that with Goodworks Hub. And that website will take you right there if you go to nickvfilm.com. We're here at NIB and we're showing the film actually while we're here three times.
So people can actually watch the entire film and get excited and let everyone know about it. Yeah, and this is so powerful. I mean, in this age of digital content, I mean, many kind of crowdfunding efforts have put the gospel in creative ways in front of a lot of people. And so, folks, this really is a great opportunity. And Nick, you know, I hope people get involved and invest in the marketing of this.
I mean, you lived the story. The film is made. But folks, this is a great opportunity by praying, spreading the word, and yes, financially investing. You can really put the gospel in front of many, many people. The film is No Limbs, No Limits, the Nick V story.
Nick, there's a saying I heard one time, and I know this works with young people. If you want somebody to know the truth, tell them the truth. But if you want somebody to love the truth, tell them a story. and store especially with young people. story is so powerful.
and unforgettable. And in this case, your story. Praise God. Does it somehow bring? A lot of things into focus that, wow, like I think about Esther 414, born for such a time as this makes it all worthwhile, doesn't it?
It really does. It is. The feeling I have is it's a little surreal, you know, meeting 37 presidents. Uh and me being asked by T V Secular national broadcast to preach the gospel to the country. It's incredible.
But it's all for the one. And if only one decides not to commit suicide and realize, well, if Nick's got a hope, I want that hope. I can relate to his brokenness. I can relate to his anxiety or hopelessness. If God had a plan for Nick, then God's got a plan for me.
And that's what we want people to walk away with, that hope because of Jesus. And, folks, we cannot overstate, I cannot emphasize this enough: every life is supremely significant in the eyes of our Creator and Savior. To everybody listening to this, I don't know what you're going through, but God does. And your life matters. Jesus Christ loves you.
Nick, I've got one of my favorite life verses is Matthew 6:8, where Jesus said, The Father knows what you need even before you ask. Isn't that cool? It's so awesome. The Father knows what we need. Even before we ask, and he also knows the difference of what we think we need versus what we do want.
So, you know, there's nothing wrong with presenting all your requests to God and letting His peace guide your heart and your mind in Him. But We can't lose. Alex, we just can't lose. That's true. That's true.
You know, regrettably, we're almost out of time here. But if you would speak to the person who says, Yeah, I hear you, Nick, but it's too late for me. My life is imploded. And maybe there's just... Little or no hope even left.
Speak to the person who needs that just a glimmer of hope. To give themselves permission to believe that Jesus still loves them. Would you speak and give us that word? Yeah, I just want you to know that God loves you and He's with you. Don't give up.
I want you to know that what we need is faith. Faith comes by hearing of the word.
So, even as you're hearing me and Alex even quote scripture, something supernatural is actually happening in your heart and your mind. It's called faith. and it's certain of things hoped for, sure of the unseen. Which sounds foolish. It sounds foolish to believe in an unseen God, but I want you to know that ask the Lord for that faith.
Ask him to help your unbelief and say, God, I don't want my plan. I don't want my strength. I want your plan, your strength, because nothing's satisfying me right now. And you know that it's more about. Having that rest in your soul and that purpose that you haven't found yet, and it's not.
It's not in this world. Whatever this world can give you, what you're actually looking for is from Jesus Christ. And I just want you to know: never, ever give up on God. God has a plan for you, and He'll give you all the strength you need one day at a time. The voice you're hearing is Nick Voyacic.
His life story is coming to theaters September 25th. As we wrap up, let me say this, folks: just hear me out. My life work has largely been the evidence for the Bible. We do apologetics, history, archaeology, the manuscripts. Folks, I could give you hundreds, literally hundreds of hours of teaching on the evidence for the Bible.
But let me just say this: the Bible is God's Word, and in that Bible, we read that God loves you. He does. Christ died for you, and this Jesus of whom we speak. He is as close by as a prayer.
So today, maybe you need to come to Christ, or maybe you need to come back to Christ. But like Nick Voyacic and really three billion humans today, you know, more than a third of the human race, we can testify that God is faithful. God does love you. Whatever you've done, He'll forgive. Whatever you've gone through, He can make it purposeful and give you a reason and heal and give you hope for every day.
And like Nick, You may not be in front of 37 presidents and millions of the human race, but God has things for you, and they matter for eternity. Remember God loves you, and as 1 Corinthians 15, 58 says, Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
