At a time of unimaginable tragedy, we turn to God for comfort and guidance. The Bible reminds us that He is a present help in times of trouble and near to the broken-hearted. Let's pray for the families and first responders affected by this loss, and remember that life is short, and we must be prepared to meet our God.

Hey everybody, Greg Laurie here. Let me ask you a question. Are you eager to make a difference in the spiritual lives of others? When you give to Harvest, you become a part of our mission to make God known through unique avenues like television, radio, and large-scale evangelistic events. Support us today at harvest.org slash donate and help us to continue to spread the gospel around the world. Well, we've all heard about this horrible tragedy that took place in our nation's capital at Reagan Airport, a coalition between an American Airlines passenger jet carrying 64 people and a Black Hawk helicopter with a crew of three.

And the reports are they've all died, unimaginable. And what do we do at a time like this? Well, I think we need to turn to God. I know the question that comes to our mind is, why did God allow this?

And I don't have an answer to that question. So I can't always answer the why question, but I can answer the who question. I know who to turn to when you're in pain. The Bible says that we should go to the Lord because He is the rock that is higher than us. And He is a present help in times of trouble.

And the Bible says that He is near to the broken hearted. So let's pray for these families. Pray that God would be near to them, that they would call out to Jesus Christ who can comfort them through this incredibly difficult loss. And let's pray for the first responders who have gone from rescue to recovery. I know a lot of first responders.

I do work with those in law enforcement and elsewhere, and the trauma they have to face in doing their job is very strong. Pray for them as well. Pray that we get to the bottom of this and get some answers. I think it's a time to say that life is short.

It comes and goes so quickly, and we don't know when and how life will end for each of us. So the best thing we can do is to be prepared to meet our God. The Bible tells us that if we will draw near to God, He will draw near to us. May everyone involved draw near to God in this time of suffering that's being felt by our whole nation.

Hey everybody, thanks for listening to my podcast. Before you go, I wanted to let you know about the important work we're doing here at Harvest. You know, we've had the same goal these last 50 years, which is simply this. We want to know God, and we want to make Him known. And we do that in a lot of ways. Documentary films, animation, radio, television, large-scale evangelistic events, and more. If you want to be a part of what we're doing to fulfill the Great Commission, you can support us with whatever you can give at harvest.org slash donate. Again, that's harvest.org slash donate, and thanks so much.
