Harvest Crusade Update

Hey everybody, Greg Laurie with an update on what just happened at The Harvest Crusade at The Honda Center. Man, the atmosphere was electric. We had it in the round.

The stage was in the middle. It made everything feel a lot more intimate. Incredible worship was led by Chris Tomlin and Taya and Michael W. Smith and Passion and The Harvest Worship Band. Many people said it was the best Harvest Crusade they had ever been to.

I think I might agree with it. And it was such a great response to the gospel. You would think in this worship environment it wouldn't be that great for evangelism, but I think in reality it opened people's hearts up. You know, I came to Christ on my high school campus as I was walking along and I came across a group of Christians that were singing songs to Jesus on the front lawn. And I actually sat down out of curiosity and eavesdropped on their conversation wondering why would anybody do this? Why are they singing songs about God? But as I watched them I thought they have something I don't have. And I feel that happened on a larger scale in The Honda Center when believers were worshiping and of course God promises that He inhabits the praises of His people.

That's a great way to disarm a person. Like on the day of Pentecost as the Holy Spirit was poured out, people were watching this and they said, what does this mean? And Peter preached to God.

That's what I did. And over the two nights there at The Honda Center we saw over 3,000 people make a commitment to follow Christ. And then this was online as well. Around 200 and some thousand people saw it around the world. And another 3,000 people made a profession of faith to follow Christ. So all told 6,000 professions of faith. Notice I use the phrase professions of faith and not the phrase conversion. Time will tell if they're conversions because it's not enough to walk forward in an invitation in an event. You need to go forward spiritually. So I pray that all the people who responded to that invitation to follow Christ will grow spiritually. You've made the right decision.
