Death and grief are experiences we all face at some point in our lives. God provides us with hope and help for dealing with our sorrow. Jesus wept over the death of his friend Lazarus, showing that grieving is a natural part of the process. There are four stages of grief: shock, despondency, regression, and adaptation. Christians can minister to those who are grieving by being genuine, quiet, and practical, and by helping them find comfort and hope in God's word.
