Jesus's ongoing intimate relationship with his Father was the source of his compassion, wisdom, and power. He preferred to pray outside, surrounded by God's creation and glory, and withdrew from people and daily life activities to be alone with the Father. Jesus prayed as an example to his followers, from his human nature, and due to the nature of the Trinity. He prayed in agony as his betrayal and death was near, and prayed for God's will to be done.
